On the Journey with Us Today is fitness guru former
NFL player Jeremy Allen. Jeremy is a graduate of Iowa University,
whereas a phenomenal athlete with a rare accommodation of speed, power, explosiveness,
and determination, he amassed a number of athletic records in
(02:33):
football and track and field. He was an All Big
Ten and an All American. As a professional football player,
he played for the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, and
the Atlanta Falcons. Indeed, you have probably heard me say
(02:56):
it before. You and I, each of us, individually members
of a civil humanity, a wonderfully made, remarkable body, remarkable brain.
Some amongst us have organized ourselves individually with phenomenal minds. Awesome.
(03:25):
How many times have you looked yourself in the mirror
and said, Hey, you, you're awesome. If you were to
meet our guests to day, Jeremy, you'll probably catch your
breath just enough to say awe. And then some when
(03:48):
I return, you will meet him, and he will tell
us a little about himself. Miss Allen, Welcome to the journey.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
Yes, I like to call myself a business consultant because
I have the online fitness products. I do boot camps
also for nutritional products, and I just give general advice
on fitness and weight man in anything of that nature.
(04:26):
That's a little bit about me. I could go a
little bit deeper, you know, into my history, but I
guess we could say that for later in the conversation.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
What drew what drew you into this? What?
Speaker 1 (04:40):
What?
Speaker 5 (04:40):
Why are you doing this?
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Well? You know, I have an extensive background in athletics.
I grew up in athletics, building, stock and field, baseball, football, basketball, wrestling,
and you know, I went on to competing track and
field at the collegiate level and also played football at
(05:06):
the collegiate level, and then I competed internationally and will
chocolate in discus, and then played professionally football American football
with the Vikings, the Saints, and the Falcons and also
overseas with the NFL Europe. So with all that background,
(05:30):
it was kind of an actual transition to move into
the health and wellness time and you know, stay in
a physical sort of environment. Also, I really enjoy helping
people reach their goals and the whole idea that it
was really fascinating. So that is my history, you know,
(05:52):
when it comes to Finis and why I got into
it and why I really enjoyed the environment bitness.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
Now, now you mentioned that you were any athletes in
a number of football organizations. At what point did you decide, now,
I'm going to transition out or can you tell us
about that?
Speaker 4 (06:14):
Yeah, well, I had some injuries. I had three shoulder
surgeries and it was really taking a toll and I
was I kind of saw where the thing was going,
and I really felt like I needed to make a
transition out of football into something that I was going
(06:36):
to be able to do long term. And you know,
after I made that decision, I actually got called back
to play football after I actually chose to step away,
and then actually I got called back. But then I
decided that, hey, I wanted to go and get into
something that was a little more long term and start,
(07:00):
you know, creating a pass for my future. And so
it was an injury thing that kind of got me
out of the football business and got me into the fitnesses.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
Was that an easy transition for you or how did
that occur?
Speaker 4 (07:18):
I feel like it was a fairly easy transition in
some ways and not so easy in others. But it
was easy because you know, I was already in fairly
good state. I had very good coaching, and I was
I got the highest quality training hands on for years,
you know, going from high school, college to professional and
(07:42):
both doing the tracktic build and professional fall, and with
the track and field, I actually competed internationally with the
US I could be in the World Junior Championship, and
so I was able to work. I went the caliber
coaches and other athletes as well, So that was that
(08:04):
was very It was a very good experience for me.
As far as transitioning into the fitness industry, it wasn't
so easy on the incomes tohaws, because obviously you can
make a lot more money playing American football than you
can ride away as a trader. But both times you
(08:26):
can build up a decent hurry industry, but definitely not
like you have professional ball.
Speaker 5 (08:38):
Well, when we're back, I will ask Jeremy about fitness.
What is involved in a good fitness program. We'll be
right back.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
So are you fit? What measures do you use to
determine your level of fitness? What does it take for
you to look in that mirror and say, hey, you
you are awesome, so awesome, awesome, awesome.
Speaker 5 (09:20):
I'm back on with Jeremy Allen. So, Jeremy, what is
your philosophy or what's the best way for us as
individuals to have a healthy fitness program?
Speaker 4 (09:35):
Well, I felt like I when it comes to fitness,
just like anything else, I think a couple of could
be considered. One, you need to have a plan in place.
You need to know exactly what goals that you want
to reach, and you get with a personal trainer, or
(09:58):
you still down and do your research it's yourself and
figure out the best way to put a plan. And
then once you put that plan together, obviously, once you
figured out your goal, then you actually become very consistent.
I feel like people and come to me with the
(10:20):
fitness goals and they don't have the capacity to be consistent.
They want to work out, you know, one time, and
you know, come in another week, another time and another
you know. The way it really takes is consistency. I
mean doing something physical and active every day is going
(10:43):
to be the key to obtaining apole, whether it's muscle buildings,
fat loss, general fitness part of best wellness, It takes consistency.
It also takes, like you said, a plan and then
also a proper goalfit. So I think all of those
(11:04):
three together is what it takes UH to really obtain
it maintained. Whatever fitness goal you have.
Speaker 5 (11:15):
Now, if if if we were to come to you
for you know, for fitness management to get fitter, uh,
wouldn't we sometimes not know exactly what our goal is?
What what does a good goal look like? If I
come to you and I said I want to be fit,
what does that mean? Or or am I coming to
you to tell you how many pounds I want to lose?
(11:36):
What what does a good goal look like? From a
person coming to a fitness coach.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
I think there's a there's various ways to approach a
fitness culture, a personal training, But I think when it
comes to being fit, I think what that is is
obviously having good numbers with a doctor, whether it's your cholesterol,
all your pressure, any blood work, your sugar all that.
(12:04):
Having good numbers with the doctor I think is optimal
because I think a lot of times people the main
reason they come to the gym, if their personal painters
for the appearance that they have and you know the
way they live where the real problem probably live inside,
where you know the way the body functioning inside. So
(12:27):
I think good numbers with the doctors never won. Then
you know, having good overall cardio aspect business and also
having a good strength level for your body types. I
think all of those other is what you call what
I would call being big. It's not just being really strong,
(12:50):
but having a low part of the ovascular level or
having a high part of that level and not being
able to do any servers distance training and have you know. So,
I think all those things together with inner body health
STRUB mean the doctor numbers of things that your doctor
(13:10):
says that you need to work on those these levels down.
But all of those things are very important in what
I call being so. I don't think it's just one thing.
It's an overall approach.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
You are on the journey and it's time for our
question of the week.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
The question of the week is this, how fit are you?
Do you know your numbers the last did you have
them checked? How fit are you? Do you know your numbers?
When last did you have them checked?
Speaker 5 (14:00):
H if you need to determine what numbers you should
be checking and what constitutes a solid measure of personal
fitness inside and out, I recommend you go to ryosports
(14:22):
dot com and click on fitness. That is R Y
O S b O R T S dot com and
click on fitness. Our guest today is former NFL player
Jeremy Allen. I'm back with mister Jeremy Allen. So, Jeremy, so,
(14:46):
we've come to you for a fitness program. What is
what would do you offer? What would you offer to
us to get finished?
Speaker 4 (14:55):
Well? I have a few things. Obviously, if you are
not in Dallas, textors where I can actually personal train
you or have your tende of my Blue Camps. I
have put together an online fitness product and I think
it's awesome. I've had a lot of users have success
(15:17):
with it and it incorporates partio vascular fitness, nutrition as
well as resistance training. You can do it at home
or in the gym, and it requires minimal equipment. It
requires a resistance ban, a stability ball and also a
(15:38):
set of dumbbells, so very minimal equipment. And what it
is is it a twelve week online course that walks
you through how to take yourself and your body from
whatever stage you are now to a completely different level.
Depending on whatever level you are, you're going to make
(16:00):
increases and you can do it at your own pace.
So that's probably the product that I would recommend the most,
especially if you are with me where I can actually
personally train you, because it's interactive, I said, bi weekly emails,
I have an edible calendar for your nutrition and your workout,
(16:24):
and there's videos for you to watch as well, so
it's not just a written plan, it's actually videos that
you can see my proper performance of each exercise. So
I think for most people who are trying to get
started into losing weight and feeling better and getting more
energy and gaining muscle. If that's the case, this particular
(16:47):
program is perfect for you, And you know, obviously if
it's not, you can always email me if you have
any questions, you can always email me at Jeremie al
at gmail dot com and just continue to get better
and better. So that's I guess. You know, I'm a
(17:07):
little biased because I created the product, but I think
that it's an ultimate product. I think that it's something
that truly compasses resistance training, audio bestors training, as well
as proper nutrition and diet.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
We'll be right back. To be well. To be fit
is to be so in the inside and the out.
(17:45):
While there are a number of suitable ways to reaching
that goal, we need to know what constitutes fitness to
each of us, specifically our body type, our personality, our circumstances,
are dreams. You can find those measures on ryosports dot com.
(18:08):
That is, ryos PRTs dot com click on fitness. You'll
also file a number of other resourceful online courses on
ryosports dot com. Jeremy, thank you for joining us on
