(00:01):
Danny. It's the Neighbors podcast withrecent Mike. They discausing different issues that
affect up treating like that. It'sthe Neighbors who with the Neighbors. Yeah
yeah, yeah, well well wellwell we are back, yes, back
(00:22):
back, back, back time. Most definitely talking about back right. You
know a lot of people are talkingabout, you know, this whole Cat
Williams thing. Man. You know, I haven't really get in detail of
I've just seen it, so I'mjust going by a word of mouth of
what I see on on social mediamost likely break it down to me.
(00:49):
So so really, you know,Shannon Shark, most of us know him
as a Hall of Fame football player, right, the NFL commentator, right,
you know, And he was onyou know some famous network show right
right right, and you know asa you know, a guest as the
host and you know things like that, right, you know. And now
(01:11):
he has his own show, ClubSha Sha, you know. And I
like listen to Shannon because overall, just like the personality he's you know what
I mean, he's really he don'tshare cold enough, right right, you
know. And so I've looked atI would say probably about ninety percent of
his his interviews because as a podcasterfrom me, I just like to you
(01:36):
know, hold my craft, right, you know, like to see how
people do their stuff or whatever. But ultimately though a lot of times I
like to see what sneaks he goton his feet, right, he always
got a different pair on all thetime, right right, you know.
And then and then sometimes that uhyou know, I'll be looking like yo,
like I really like that furniture, like the leather sat and you know,
(01:56):
or or you know, I lookat the little drinks that he yeah,
yeah, you know because it's someof them bottles like the so so
the interview we want to talk about, which is the one he just had
with Cat? Right, you know, I was like, yo, like
wear that bottle, Like that's areally nice looking you know right right,
you know, like what it wasit was? What was that popping for
us? Exactly? You know, but you know, but he interviewed Cat,
(02:22):
uh, mister Cat Williams saying uh, you know it was interesting because
Cat was giving a little bit ofinsight from his perspective. Right, I
can't sit here and say you know, right, wrong or different, you
know, and some things were alleged, you know what I mean, because
we don't know. We're not inthe business like exactly, so we don't
know if stuff is real not real, right, But one thing I have
(02:45):
to say, it was entertaining. That's what I'm here. Yeah, it
was entertaining. And you know what, I take it as some of the
things he was saying, which iswhat some of the stuff we deal in
the neighborhood one, you know, you know, he he saying people allegedly
stole material from other people. Wedeal with that in the neighborhood exactly constantly.
(03:09):
Every day. It's like, nomatter what neighbor you live in,
it happens everywhere, right right, right, you know. And then you
know, you know, people fighting, right you you know what I mean,
you know, it's just brothers fighting, and some things are just a
little bit more competitive then they shouldbe. Yeah, yeah, right,
(03:30):
that's the neighborhood situation, right, neighborhood situation, you know. And then
you know, so so I thinkultimately that's what it really came down to.
He was shedding light on what's goingon. But the neighborhood was not
necessary the one that we're in.It's just one that might be a little
bit more affluent, pretty much like, yeah, you know, and then
(03:55):
what we are? Right, Butat the same time as I'm listening to
him, I'm like, all right, well, you know again some of
this stuff is alleged, you know, and but what's some things made up?
(04:15):
I can't say yay or because Idon't know because the reason why I'm
saying that, you know, orwas it put out there in a manner
to help what you and I talkedabout off camera, which is to sell
tickets, sell tickets, not outof ten, you get what I mean?
You know. So, so whatI'm getting at is is that even
(04:38):
though we talk about what's going on, what is the head and agenda?
Right right? And in that hadenagenda, how many people are gonna go
see Cat Wlliams in March? Hey, y'all guess what I mean. We
are in from Philly, right, you know, we we're in the Philadelphia
area, and we know that he'shitting Philly very very short, very shortly,
(05:00):
right like you say, I thinkyou say like a march. Yeah,
I think it's March or something likethat, right, you know,
So, so how many people aregonna go see him? Man? Shipload?
Right? Right? Right? Right? A lot? Right? You
know so. But as we alsotalked about off camera, you know,
again, people don't want to talkabout the whole Will Smith Chris Chris Rock
(05:24):
situation. Right again, we're notgetting into the semantics of it. But
did that help people one way oranother? Brought attention to a lot of
different things, you know, Andso we're not we're not in this place
of like, hey, this person'sright or wrong or whatever else. But
you know, you just wonder howdo people capitalize off You're right, certain
(05:46):
scenarios right right, you know tome, I mean the way that's look,
the way that slap looking with ChrisRock, I don't know, I
don't know. I don't think itreally I mean again, and you know,
I don't I mean again, peopleyou know, show what they show
on on Instagram or TikTok that youknow, it could have been staged like
something back in the day. Youknow, we don't know, we don't
(06:11):
know, and we're not trying todo anything about that, you know.
But it's just how has that helpedor hurt anyone's career? Correct? You
know, because especially like right nowand this day, and they just seem
like a lot of people are reallysensitive, pretty much, I mean too
sensitive. I mean, you can'tsay anything, you can't do certain things.
(06:35):
It's like it's like you definitely getstereotyped, right, and the don't
thing you could do just fall backlike all right, okay, right,
whatever, right, whatever. Imean, it's just last couple of years,
just it really started like that, being like their last couple of years
going through you know, after thepandemic. You know, people personal life,
(07:00):
jobs, et cetera, et cetera. But you know, it's just
so much. It is I can'treally explain it, but you can see
the effects from other people. Youtalk to others and they'll tell you like,
man, I can't wait for thisday to be over with, I
can't wait for this month to beover there. I can't wait for this
year to be over there. It'slike you're going through a lot of things,
(07:21):
certain things you trying to you know, trying to get get over that
hump hunt you know, but youknow, hey, it's I know,
it's part of life, was right, I mean I think that the I
think part of listening to to what'sbeen going on associated with these people.
(07:44):
You know, sometimes some people arekind of out of the limelight, right,
you know what I mean. Andwe don't know because something that you
talked about as far as the pandemic, we don't know people's mental state,
real mental state, you know, while they were in it, coming out
(08:07):
of it. And now I don'tknow what state we're in right now because
I don't know Virgary be shut downagain, that's rumored, you get what
I mean. We don't know whatpeople you know, what the bank accounts
looking like, because all these banksthat's closing down, shutting down, you
know, And so we really don'tknow what people are dealing with on an
(08:28):
everyday basis. And if you payattention to what's going on California with some
of the new laws, you know, how they're over taxing people, you
know, or whatever however people arewording it. They really so we really
don't know what's really going on people'sminds in all reality. So unfortunately,
(08:50):
right now you know, we're recordingright and now we hear hel helicopters,
you know, you know, youknow, so on reality we hit his
you know, and we're like whatno, right, I'm like, okay,
hey, y'all, they must beeavesdropping everybody to come and get the
(09:11):
Neighbors podcast. You know, butwe're but we're we're only bringing these things
up because I look at it almostas if brothers are fighting. You get
what I mean. You know,I'm looking at it as if neighbors are
really fighting each other, you know. And and then there's some things that
(09:37):
you know, just coming out, like, hey, you know your brother
really is struggling? Are you payingattention? You get what I mean.
I don't because some of this stuff, I don't look at it as negatively
or as gossip be as others do. Yeah, correct, you get what
I mean. And if you thinkabout it from from like we had mentioned
(10:00):
about Will Smith, you know,in all reality, yo, somebody says
something about your girl, your man, right yo. Yeah, it was
like, okay, i'll see youat three o'clock pretty much, right,
exactly exactly. You know, ifsomebody was stealing something from you or whatever
else, you were going say somethingto somebody pretty much, you know what
(10:22):
I mean? You know, soyou know it's it's it's it's similar.
You know, it's not the same, but it's similar similar, right you
know, So what do you say? How do you go about that?
You know? And right now itcould be just hey, bringing awareness or
attention to it, right, youknow, and how do we correct the
situation? Right? That's the wayI look at it. So, so
that's how I look at what KatWilliams was talking about. Really, Okay,
(10:45):
Okay, So, like I said, you know, I'm just going
by a word of mouth, bitedpieces I see on social media, and
some of these posts you can't reallyfollow along, like because everybody's but they
perspected what they got. I loveis totally different. Right, So I'm
like, my best bud is towatch it myself, right right right,
(11:05):
take it for there. You know. They're like, oh, okay,
I'm like, then you're like, what the hell she was talking about?
What I mean, listen, man, I looked at the whole two and
a half, two forty five whateverit was. I was crying. I
was. I mean, I wascracking up, to be honest. You
know I can see that because again, I'm looking at Cat as a big
(11:31):
brother, you know what I mean. Okay, and I'm just looking at
him sitting on the corner telling stories, smoking a cigarette right right right,
you know what I mean. Youknow, So that's the way I look
at it. So I just kindof you know, taking it as information,
(11:52):
not so much trying to cancel nobody, right you you know what I
mean or whatever I mean. Theygotta deal with that, right yeah,
he you know, he has todeal with that, right where the other
yeah? The but what do youwhat's that? Boy? We're looking for?
Oh my goodness, uh the lashbacks or mm hmm, man,
(12:18):
help me out. You looking forretaliation for the other word, okay about
buying people retaliation. It's all good. But you know, if if he
(12:39):
has any again, I think he'smad enough to deal with it pretty much,
you get what I mean much,And you know, or if it's
a situation where he's reaching out forattention or whatever else, again, that's
something else to deal with. Likeyou know what, bro, we will
know the only person would know it'shim, right, So, I mean,
(13:03):
because he talked about how he wasgiving out money to people and helping
people, you know, doing communityservice. You know, he would do
a show, get paid some money, and then he would give money right
back in the community, you know, to a homeless shelter, you know.
So it's like, yeah, youknow, people kind of gravitated to
the nonsense of Steve Harvey or Sadaand tay or whatever else. I mean
(13:26):
no, I mean that stuff wasfunny, right, but also some of
the other nuggets he was given, which is like, no, I do
give back. So it makes someonethink, am I really helping out any
community that I'm a part of,not just where I can't had come from,
you know, because some people getso caught up. I'm only helping
the hood that I came from,But what about other people? You know,
(13:50):
because everybody need help. It's true, everybody need help. So so
that was some of the things thatI've taken from Cat in an interview with
you know, Shannon was really youknow, a this is just my my
neighbor point of view, got youyou you know what I mean, where
I don't. I'm not on anybody'sside. I'm not trying to analyze who
(14:13):
stole a joke, you know, who stole somebody's stage presence and mimic whatever.
Like, I'm not into all thatbecause the reality is, no matter
the situation, I was entertained oneway or the other, true you feel
me like and if I because I'mnot a true student of comedy, you
(14:35):
get what I mean, I justsit back and listen, and that's the
best way, you know, So, I mean until they started showing all
over social media. Well, ifyou look at these two jokes, listen
to these two whatever you know? All right, I got you. But
let's be honest, though, let'sbe totally honest. What movie has not
(14:56):
been a repeat? Yeah? Likeyou said, what joke is not being
recycled? Right? Exactly? Comeon now, right? You know,
because because if you pay attention toany major movie right now, you know,
is it not some type not everymajor movie but a few, you
know, how many of them hasbeen even remade, right, just updated
(15:22):
with more updated special effects, costumes, you know, design things like that,
or some variation of a book orsomething like stuff. So it's not
like every single thing we look atas a brand new situation, right it
(15:43):
isn't you know. And like theysay, you know, fashion is cyclic
cool, Like you know, fashiongoes into a cycle, right, you
know. So what we wear intoday, well, okay, minus skinny
jeans, Well, I guess skinnyjeans were kind of back in the day.
Kind not not skinny jeans per se, as much as men did wear
(16:07):
some type of form fitting or alittle more slim type thing. Because everything
wasn't bagging exactly. Everything wasn't bagging, you know. I mean, now,
granted might not have been winning sotight where you could see somebody's undergarments,
You get what I mean, Butagain, what how what stuff hasn't
(16:30):
been recycled? Pretty much like bootlegs, right, you know? So so
again that's just my take, bro. I mean, I know I could
go on and on and on.That's just my neighbors take. Well,
and I think that's where from frommy perspective, it's just brothers. It's
(16:52):
just brothers, and they got tohandle that pretty much. They gotta deal
with that. They gotta talk itout, they gotta shake hands or whatever
whatever the situation is. And ifthey don't, they don't. But it
made me did your did you everlook at the did you see the documentary
with Kevin Hart and Chris rock Man? You don't look at the documentaries?
(17:17):
Well, what I realized what itwas called. I believe the show is
on Netflix. It is called Headliners. Oh okay, okay, but I
didn't. Okay, So, sothe reason why I said that because as
competitive as some of those places are, and again we're talking about comedians,
I would not have thought that ChrisRock and Kevin Hart were as cool as
(17:41):
they were. And on top ofthat, I wouldn't even think that Kevin
Hart and Dave Chappelle were that cool. You get what I mean? You
know, so because even with that, you know, and for those of
you who looked at headliners, Ithought it was great, Okay, I
thought, yeah, I think itwas great as far as information goes,
(18:04):
especially if you're trying to be inthe business, how important friendships can be.
You know, you're going through something, Hey, you know what,
I got somebody, I got,my brother I can call on, you
know. And that's why I said, I think this is a a neighbor's
topic because do we have those peoplethat we can call on? Right?
This is true, right, right? Or are we in a society where
(18:27):
it's like it's hard to do.Yeah, that's one of the why.
That's why people's friends and family circusare small. Right, and tell one
person something, you know, oh, like you know what? Never mind,
sometimes sometimes you better keeping your mouthclosed. Yeah. You can't tell
(18:47):
everybody anything everything, right, Yeah? Yeah? Yeah, you know,
but you know, I think thatthat's the I think that's that's something that
we all need to consent that areright? Right? You know, yo,
how important our relationships? Right? You know, how are we helping
each other out? Pretty much? You know our community right now where where
(19:08):
Mike and I live, it's changing, right, It's changed right before ours,
you know, and some people aregoing to get kind of booted out
eventually, pretty much. Yeah, slowly, but surely it is happening.
Seriously, it's happening. It's likeit's all about the dollar, and it's
(19:33):
like that price but okay, likeI said that price point, all right,
we see this person, you makejust such and such a money money,
sure, come on in, butif you make below that mouth right,
no, right, we have tosee, right, and I see
that, you know, the lastcouple of years it wasn't like that.
But it's then the thing you notice, like certain people that's moving in the
neighborhood, like okay, I knowa couple of people just like nurses at
(19:57):
the Veteran Veteran hospital moved out here, such et cetera. Like okay,
the things they doing around the neighborhoods, you know, okay, right,
no problem, but you know, you got to know it's getting like such
and such, such and such likeyou don't still living around the here,
right, you know, we gotwe got a neighborhood page on here.
(20:19):
They'll we check out from time totime, you know, let us know
what's going on in the neighborhood, you know, the boroughs and stuff like
that. You know, it's like, okay, look, some people get
bored and they want to start things. People that're bored, they want to
start, So just go over theresitting in the corner and play with your
toes. But you know, butif you're going to go and start something,
(20:44):
you know, is it gonna belucrative for you? You get what
I mean? I mean, nobodysaid you lucrative does not mean money,
right, but does it really benefityou? You know? So so you
know, like I said, Ithink this is the brothers fighting and and
before we really go off the deepend and say, hey, they this
(21:06):
person was wrong, that person's right, you know whatever else, like,
hey, let's just call for whatit is. They got to work it
out. They gotta work it out. And is it really lucrative for me
to stick my nose all the wayin it? Right? But you know,
you got the stubborn people, allright, fine, yeah, let's
just you go your way and Igo my way. So but let us
(21:32):
know what your thoughts are exactly. You know, hit us up when you
know it was podcast, right Facebook? I take I wasn't starting off kind
of slow and uh, you know, be sure to fall, you know,
(21:57):
Mike and I want to own personalpages, you know, Maurice D.
Chisholm Senior every on all social media, Michael your cool kid on a
Facebook. And yo, y'all wewe're going to start off this year number
five of the Neighbors podcast, right, yeah, yeah, talk to y'all.
(22:17):
Hey, we're just trying to pullup. You are the reasons they
can't. You are the agent andwe look for change. You call it
the press, and you did notfall with you already dining
