Rock.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Well, yes, it is your poor monkeys, and I'm very
grateful that you guys came on down to visit me
at the QB Zone. Listen, So today I just want
to talk about dream. I'm sure all of us there's
nobody that has ever existed that has not had a
dream or a goal. And once you have that dream
of goal, what's really important is the effort, the hard

(01:16):
work that you.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Put into it.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Unfortunately, you do have some people who might can get
blinded by the story but don't know the journey. So
in other words, you have a lot of people who's
who on the outside looking in and may think that, oh,
they can accomplish this, and it's gonna happen for them
like this, and they'll be able to have all of
this and that, and they don't realize the hard work

(01:43):
that can go into it, the dedication, and not even
just the hard work and dedication to achieve your goal,
but to be able to sustain it and and that's
very important. You know, many of us, many of us,
many of us, I'm only I'm even gonna say, all
of us have had dreams and aspirations that we hope.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
To achieve in our lifetime.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Whether it's starting at a successful business, traveling the world,
or excelling in a particular field. Dreams give us something
to strive for and look forward to.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
However, the road.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
To achieving our dreams is often not easy, and it
requires a great deal of hard work and dedication. Hard
work is essential when it comes to turning our dreams
into reality. Without putting in the necessary effort and perseverance,
our dreams will remain just that dreams. I wanna present

(02:42):
a few reasons why hard work is a cr is
very very crucial and accomplishing any goal.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
I don't care what the goal is. Hard work is
very important.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
I mean, even in the Bible it talks about faith
without works is dead. You have to work for stuff,
and I feel like you work hard for anything that's
worth having, anything success, anything that you get quick fast
in the hurry, you can mess around and losing the
same way.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
So the first reason, the first.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Thing I want to share in regards to why hard
work is very crucial, and accomplishing goals is persistence. Persistence
is key. Success rarely comes overnight. It takes time, effort,
and a lot of persistence to reach your goals. By
working hard and staying committed, you are more likely to

(03:41):
overcome obstacles and setbacks along the way. This journey of
persistence is a testament to your dedication and determination to
see your dreams through to fruition to be more persistent
and achieving your goals. I think there's some following. I
think there's some tips.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
That I can give you.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Guys to help you be more persistent in the commisation
of your goals. And you know, when I present these,
I'm really putting to the choir, really talking to tell
my stuff as well and taking note just for my
own goals and aspirations. So the first one tips for
increasing your persistence. Number one, set clear goals. You want

(04:23):
to define specific achievable goals that you are passionate about,
that you are passionate about, not nobody else that you
are passionate about.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Number two, stay focused.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Avoid distractions, and maintain your focus on the tasks that
lead you closer to your goals.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Number three, develop a routine.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Establish a consistent routine that includes dedicated time for working
towards your goals. Next, track your progress. Monitor your achievements
and milestones to stay motivated and see how far you've come.
Seek support. Surround yourself with positive influences and seek encouragement

(05:12):
from friends, family, or mentors. You want to learn from
your setbacks. Don't just necessarily look at them as failures.
Look at them as opportunities to learn and grow. You're
gonna view your setbacks as learning opportunities and use them
to grow stronger and more resilient. Visualize success. Imagine yourself

(05:38):
achieving your goals. To maintain motivation and drive. It's what's
gonna get keep you up and motivated and prepare and dedicated.
It's what's gonna give you that passionate joy for life
and to keep moving when things seem to be slow
or see not to be moving at all, It really
is gonna be whatever for your motivation and drive is

(06:01):
rooted in. So visualize your your success and know that
you're worthy of it. Next, and this is number eight.
We have ten of them. Number eight, practice self discipline.
Cultivate self discipline to stay committed to your goals even
when faced with challenges. Next number nine, celebrate small wins,

(06:26):
acknowledge and celebrate each small success along the way to
stay motivated. Number ten, stay positive, maintain a positive mindset,
and believe in your ability to overcome obstacles and reach
your goals. The next thing you want to do is

(06:48):
make sure there's skilled development. You want to have skill development.
Hard work not only helps you progress towards your dreams,
but also allows you to develop new skills and improve
existing ones.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
The more you work towards your goals, the.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
More you learn and grow, making you better equipped to
handle challenges that come your way. Each challenge you face
and overcome through hard work contributes to your personal and
professional growth, enhancing your capabilities and broadening your horizons. Number three,

(07:25):
you want to build resilience. When you put in the
hard work required to achieve your dreams, you build resilience
and mental strength. This resilience will help you stay focused
and motivated even when faced with adversity or failures. Overcoming
obstacles through hard work not only strengthens your resolve, but

(07:50):
also instills in you a sense of resilience that allows
you to bounce back stronger. Each time you encounter a setback. Now,
resilience is something that maybe a struggle for certain people,
or you may have those moments where you struggle. So
I what I wanna do is provide some tips to

(08:13):
help you be able to build and sustain your resilience. First,
let's talk about the characteristics of a resilient person. Okay,
there's four characteristics that a resilient person possesses. Number one, optimism.
They maintain a positive outlook and believe in eventual success.

(08:33):
Don't give up. Number two is adaptability. They understand that
change is inevitable and it remain flexible. Number three self awareness.
They recognize their emotional reactions and can regulate them effectively.
Next is strong support system. They nurture supportive relationships and

(08:59):
aren't afraid to.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
As for help.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Now, as I stated, when you build resilience, you're also
building your mental strength. So to develop a resilient mindset,
there's some few things that you can do. For The
first is practice positive thinking. Practice makes perfect. You're not
gonna get perfect at it overnight. You're gonna put off

(09:24):
the effort. In practice, put one step in front of
the other and give yourself a chance. So practice positive thinking.
Consistently challenge negative thoughts and refrain from them positively.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Let me back up.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
You want to consistently challenge negative thoughts and reframe them positively.
All about how you look at it, turn it around
for a positive Number two. View difficulties as challenges. See
obstacles as an opportunity to grow rather than insurmountable problems.

(10:01):
Number three. Cultivate self compassion. Be kind to yourself, especially
doing tough times. Give yourself grace. And that's one thing
I'm still struggling with that, but doing better. Give yourself grace.
Number four. Develop problem solving skills. You wanna approach issues
calmly and rationally, envisioning successful resolutions. Now we've talked about

(10:27):
I've mentioned setbacks a few times, so when it comes
to being a resilient person and having a stronger mindset,
there's a certain.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Approach that you acquire and have when it comes to setbacks.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
The first thing is that you learn from mistakes, seeing
every error as a chance to gain valuable knowledge. You
avoid dwelling on failures, instead acknowledging the situation and moving forward.
Practice cognitive restructuring, changing how you think about negative events

(11:07):
and a lot of times, I think our mindset is
half about 'em. And the fourth thing is that you
want to maintain perspective, understanding that most crises won't have
a learned long term impact. By developing these characteristics and
implementing these techniques, individuals can enhance their resilience and better

(11:32):
cope with life's challenges. The l one thing another thing
you're gonna wanna do. And this is actually the last
thing I wanna share. You have this goal, you're pushing
through the setbacks, you're pushing through the hard times, you're
learning along the way, you're growing. You're probably gonna have

(11:52):
moments where you're doubtful, where you stress, and it may
even be a roller coaster ride of emotions, especially when
you're so passionate about it. And so the last thing
I just wanna present to you and and and just emphasize,
and like I said, i'm talking, I'm really talking to
myself as well. Appreciate the journey. Appreciate the journey. Appreciate

(12:16):
the journey, Appreciate the experience. Because hard work as value
to your accomplishments.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
When you know that.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
You have worked tiresly to achieve your dreams, the sense
of satisfaction and fulfillment is so much greater. The journey
becomes just as rewarding as a destination. Each step taken
towards your dreams fueled by your hard work and dedication,

(12:47):
because a meaningful becomes a meaningful part of your success story,
reminding you of the effort and commitment it took you
to get there. Remember, dreams are not handed to us
on a silver platter, at least not the ones you're
gonna be able to sustain long term. It is the

(13:09):
hard work, dedication, and perseverance that paved.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
The way towards achieving them. So the next.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Time you find yourself dreaming big, I want you to
roll up your sleeves, put in the work, and watch
your dreams slowly but surely turn into reality. Embrace the challenges,
celebrate the victories, and let your hard work be the
driving force behind the realization of your dreams. Now you

(13:42):
know what I'm about to leave you with a quote.
I got a nice, simple quote for you, and it
simply says, hustle until you no longer need to introduce
yourself

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
