(08:09):
I know that band that is ColdSpring Union. I know that band as
well. Brandon is the drummer forthat band. But I'm telling you what,
man, you guys. I'm notsaying this because you're sitting there,
you know, within arm's reach ofme. But I'm telling you, you
guys are one of the best bandsI've ever seen live. Well. Thanks,
(08:30):
that's quite the compliment. You're sotight, you guys, your guitar
players. And I'm I'm such ajerk. I don't know everybody's named in
the band. Please tell me everybody'sname in the band. That's right.
We got John Rossi on lead vocalsand lead guitar, and then they go
back and forth. It's kind ofa unique situation. So Cody Wilt also
on lead vocals and lead guitar.Pretty much every time we play live,
(08:50):
John will sing a song, thenCody sings a song, and it goes
back and forth and back and forth. And of course Morgan Standball on bass
my partner in the rhythm section andBrandon Valentine driving the bus right behind the
kit. I'm telling you, man, you guys are so tight at the
blistering guitar solos. It's always greatto see Cold Spring Union live. Yeah,
(09:11):
absolutely, And this is one ofour new singles. It's called Living
in the Moment, kind of builtaround when we performed in March in Las
Vegas, Nevada. We actually openedup for the comedian Pauly Shore in his
band, which I didn't even knowhe had a band, but that looked
awesome. The trip to Vegas. How often do you get to play in
Vegas? Right? Yeah? When? When? When the job of music
(09:31):
calls to be able to play somewhereelse and in the nation, it is
quite the honor. And we tookadvantage of the trip for sure. You
get on the plane, That's whathappens, all right, man. So
Who's who do we have next?So up next with Switching Gears, here
to some Bluegrass. This is thewinner of the Central Pennsylvania Music Award for
Best Bluegrass Band of the Year fortwenty twenty two. It's Dead Horse Revival
(09:52):
with Whiplash. It's the local showit's The River ninety seven three. The
(11:52):
River ninety seven three. This isthe Local Show. I'm Glenn Hamilton.
Brandon Valentine is right over there. And what I love about this show and
about the talent in Central Pa.It's not just rock. It's not just
blues or country. You're gonna hearall different genres R and B, even
some rap here and there, country, folk, blue grass, metal.
(12:15):
I mean, whatever we got,we're gonna play for you every week here
on the Local Show. Absolutely, yeah, I think at least for our
show. I don't know about yourregular programming, but that's the first time
we've had a bluegrass band on theRiver. So we're breaking barriers. Well,
we're breaking all kinds of barriers withthe Local Show. I mean we
got outside of the Local Show,it's real rock variety, and just take
rock out of it for the LocalShow and it's just real variety, that's
(12:37):
right, Yeah, real variety.I mean our whole world here in terms
of Central Pennsylvania. You know, our arbitrary borders go from the New York
border the whole way down to theMaryland border, basically out past Altuna,
including everything except Pittsburgh and towards theEast, including everything except Philadelphia, and
it's just a melting pot of awide variety of successful musicians in a wide
(13:01):
variety of genres. So, youknow, our only criteria for being on
this show is it good. That'sright. If it's good, you're getting
on the air. And we'll talkabout how to get your stuff on the
air coming up in just a fewminutes. But who we have coming up
next? We have another unique genrehere. We're gonna be getting into the
realm of big bands. Oh nice, all right, stay here the local

a couple of years removed here fromCOVID. During that time, you know,
a lot of our local venues wereshut down and musicians were left without
venues to play at, and theCentral Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame hosted a
(14:16):
lot of live streams on our socialmedia page, and at the same time
we created a contest. This contestwe called the cover to Cover contest,
where we invited local musicians to coveranother local musician's original song. In this
case, this was the winner ofthat contest. It's the original song originally
(14:37):
written by Carina Rose called Fighter, and this is the cover from the Big

(19:37):
River nineteen seventy three to Quell Builtthe River nineteen seventy three. It is
(24:25):
the local show, and that isYam Yam with Juice Box. I love
Yam Yam. Theres like this reallycool jam band that breaks all the barriers
of styles of music. They kindof put it all a lot of almost
every genre in one song sometimes agreed. I mean, they're almost one that's
hard to place in a category. You know. They have a lot of
elements of funk and rocking there. But I believe it or not, they
(24:47):
actually chart under jazz. I believeit. I can see that. They're
also great musicians and they're so funlive. If you've never seen Yam Yam,
you gotta go to a Yam Yamshow. The Yam Yam quite a
banda set for sure, all right, man, So who do we have
now? I love this little bitof history behind this next song. That's
very famous, by the way,one of the most famous songs and one
(25:10):
of the most famous licks of alltime. Right yeah. During each and
every one of our annual awards ceremony, we also induct the best of the
best into our local Hall of Fame. And year one, in our inaugural
ceremony, we inducted mister Robert White. If you're not familiar with that name.
He is from bill Meyer, Pennsylvania, which is just down the river
(25:32):
towards the tm either and Robert Whiteis famous for being the guitarist in the
Funk Brothers, which was a groupof guys based out of Motown that recorded
on nearly every hit in Motown. They're kind of the unsung heroes of the
Motown era, and Robert White mostfamous for writing the guitar lick on the
(25:52):
Temptations My Girl m quite iconic, right, no doubt, this is one
of the most famous licks of alltime, that's right. So not only
is he inducted into our local Hallof Fame, being the Central Pennsylvania Music
Hall of Fame, but his worklives on in infamy through this song.
Absolutely it's My girl, Temptations onthe River ninety seven three. It's the
