Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello, I'm you happy people, Neil Smith and old Buck Buddy.
Are you hearing Neil, Neil? I miss you Man Junnies,
I have a question. We respect for me down. Missy
breaking a major story, Chris, Congratulations. Listen to a single
score podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
One of my favorite people in the world is Cambray Nelson.
You see her on Texas Scorecard, You've seen her on
social media. She's got a massive social media account and
just one of the the greatest ladies I've ever had
the privilege of knowing and meeting. She's a great activist,
very well spoken, very past about what she puts out.
And this was something she did this last week and

(01:05):
I was so impressed with it I reposted it on
social media.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
There was something happening in one of our.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Blue cities, one of our blue cities known as Houston,
and this is what the post said. Cambray wrote, Houston's
Rainbow Crosswalk just met the Texas Department of Asphalt. Three
protesters arrested after blocking the cruise. On a real, just

(01:31):
basic level, folks, I'm tired of government being used to
push political agendas. That's not government's role in the United
States of America, Cambrey talked about.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
It, Suston's rainbow crosswalk. Well, it just met the Texas
Department of Asphalt. Well, it finally happened, y'all. She's some
police just arrested protesters who tried to block work crews
from removing the city's rainbow crosswall in Montrose. Now around
two am, contractors moved into grind Off the PAINPA demonstrations
sat down in the middle of the intersection until HBD
special response groups showed up. Now three protesters were arrested,

(02:05):
including Houston City Council Canada Ethan Hale, who's also leading
the recall effort against Mayor John Whitmer. Now, Governor Abbott
has ordered all Texas cities to remove social political messages
from public streets or loose state transportation funding. So yes,
even the rainbow pate is coming up now. Of course,
local Democrat leaders are furious. Councilmember Abbey came and called

(02:26):
it picketed, while county officials threatened to sue. But Metro
says the laws clear crosswalks are for traffic safety, not politics.
By dawn, the rainbow was gone, and once again, texts
proved that when the state follows the law. It means
every law, even the colorful ones.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Wait wait, wait, you mean to tell me that the
crosswalks are not supposed to be there to make political statements.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Really, they're actually there for public safety.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Who knew? Who knew? So this is great news. The
recall effort against the Democrat in Houston, who's not a socialist,
who's not a d diversity inclusion equity piece of garbage? No, no, no,
this guy, this guy is actually a traditional Democrat. Now
I probably disagree with him on some things, but you

(03:09):
don't let me ask you this. When was the last
time you saw a crosswalk that celebrated heterosexuality? When was
the last time you saw a crosswalk that celebrated something
of Christianity or traditional values? You don't see that, and
you're not going to see that. The idea that we've

(03:29):
got to be inundated, that the fact that we've got
to be in our face everywhere we look because you
happen to be part of this coalition put together by
the Democrats. It's a political coalition. They have nothing in
common other than the Democrats need them to be together
to be a significant voting block. So you've got the
gays the lesbians, the trans, the queers, the LGBTQ, abcd FG,

(03:55):
cultural Marxists.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
That's what they are.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
And the reason why they're all lumped together is because
Democrats need a voting block and they've run out of
the blacks, and they've run out of the Latinos that
are exclusively theirs, and they've run out of every other
so called victim in this country. These people were not victims.
The idea that you don't have a rainbow crosswalk doesn't

(04:19):
victimize anybody. In fact, public safety keeps everybody, whether you're gay, lesbian,
whatever you call yourself trans, which is fake and phony.
It's a political designation, not a personal state of being,
whatever you call yourself. Public safety is universal, regardless of

(04:42):
who in what you espouse. So there you go, folks.
Then there's this from who is it? I guess this
is from Cambriy too. She was asking the question, Hey,
I thought we got rid of diversity, inclusion, equity in Texas.
I just received this text, she said, from a friend's daughter.
Applying to get into the honors program at Austin Community

(05:04):
College round Rock, she was told she is required to
attend six quote leadership events here's the first quote leadership event.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Greetings Honor Students.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
This one slipped by me and didn't make it into
the newsletters, so I wanted to give you a heads up.
Next Thursday evening the Hso the Honors Student Organization and
SGA Student Government Association are co hosting Come on Out
River Bats in honor of National Coming Out Day and
lgbtq I a plus month and the Truth Community Healing

(05:40):
and Transformation Center at Highland Campus. Wait a minute, I
thought this stuff was driven from government.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
I'm with Cambriy. I thought this stuff went bye bye.
No it didn't.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
And guess where else it is? Folks inside our colleges,
even our most prestigious college in Texas, A and M
still promulgating and pushing this crap. We talk about it
next on the Salsado Storm podcast. And now a word
from our sponsor, My friends, did Bidenomics in the left
wing economy really rock your world? Let American Medical Plans

has your paying out the nose, call American medical plans.

Check out with our guest right now, folks.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Robert Montoya, investigative reporter for the Texas Scorecard.

Speaker 6 (09:51):
Hello, sir, Hello Chris. How are you doing.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
I'm doing all right.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
You know, we have been focused a lot on education
in general. I wrote about it in my new book
that's coming out. And you have been keeping an eye
on one, well, basically one institution in particular, which is
really rubbing a lot of people the wrong way, which
used to be the pride of Texas, Texas A and M,
and a couple of stories surrounding Texas A and M.

(10:19):
Now the governor assures us that this is all being
taken care of.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
They're going to hire a new.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
President, They're going to hire all of this woke idiocy
is going to is going to go away. But from
what everything you're reporting and everything else, I'm out here,
I'm out there hearing this stuff is so ingrained that
it's going to take years to get rid of it all.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
What have you found.

Speaker 6 (10:45):
Well, we recently reviewed some documentation that we got about
tex AM's College Medicine, and the same day that President
Mark well Show was announced he was resigning, there was
a message sent out to students that a medical Care
for the LGBTQ plus patient population seminar they had planned

(11:06):
was moved to November eighteenth due to quote unforeseen circumstances.
And yeah, this is a you know, this is something
that College of Medicine was holding and they moved it
because of the timeline, which is quite interesting because of
what happened with Mark Welsh and that whole controversy.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
Right, so this is this is the problem.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
I Now some of them might be saying, well, you know,
these new edicts came down. President Trump just won election,
and we had all this woke nonsense at Texas A
and M. Because we know, we really are leftists, we
really are Democrats here, and we loved Joe Biden and
we were all on board, so we infected Texas A
and M with all this nonsense. So now so they

(11:53):
could they could say that they've been trying to get
it out of the curriculum. Would they be accurate or
truthful in saying.

Speaker 6 (12:00):
That, Well, Texas A and M has the Board of
Regents announced that they've asked Glenn Hagar to review the
entire curriculum to audit every course, so we will see
what happens after that, what substance changes occur. But when
it comes to this panel and come back to it
was under the accumum program called HEEL, which stands for Humanities, Ethics,

(12:24):
Altruism and Leadership. And we got some documentation from last
fall of what happened in a HEEL course and it
was promoting LGBT ideology, genner mutilation, and hormone manipulation procedures.
I mean we found students were signed to read papers
titled like what is rough sex? Who doesn't? Who likes it?

(12:45):
And if their face starts turning purple, you're probably doing
something wrong about young men's experiences with choking during sex.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
So that was all in the curriculum or was it
in a textbook or was it in a syllable?

Speaker 6 (13:01):
These were assigned readings as part of the HEEL program.
Now the HEEL program it is a part of the
Doctor of Medicine at the College of medic that the
Texan and College of Medicine offers. So for those who
are going to get this doctorate, you participate in the
heel course. And these are some of the rings that
were signed last fall, but there was even more. Yeah,

(13:21):
we also got a group discussion guide from October thirtieth
titled LGBTQ plus Small Group and in their participants were
assigned to read something titled the Cultural Competence in the
Care of LGBTQ Patients, which when you read it, it's
talking about, you know, the way you can deliver cultural

(13:43):
confidence that have brochure is on hormone therapy quote unquote,
which you and I both know. These are our hormonnipulation
procedures where you inject the hormones of the opposite sex
into someone who's a male or female. So if you
have a male, you're injecting female hormones into them or
female vice versa. That's the thing that it was promoting.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Yeah, and it strikes me that the Texas legislature, You
correct me if I'm wrong, but the Texas legislature passed
laws prohibiting that, and the Attorney General actually gave an
opinion on this that these procedures are regarded in Texas
as child abuse.

Speaker 6 (14:21):
For children, Yes, for children, Yes, for.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Children absolutely, So was that distinction made at Texas A
and m's curriculum.

Speaker 6 (14:30):
Well, one thing that may by provide some context, there wasn't.
There were some optional assignments in this guy as well,
and one of them was a November twenty thirteen ted
X talk by doctor Norman Spack titled how I Helped
transgender teens Become who they want to be? And I
watched this talk. It is he's advocating for using puberty

(14:52):
blockers for miners around twelve years old, which said, well,
buy time for them to decide which sex they think
they should be.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
This is this is disturbing, and there had been a
crackdown on this stuff long before President Trump won reelection,
long before Beijing. Biden was out of a picture. So
this begs the question, did Texas A and M knowingly
and willfully ignore Texas law and implement these these programs

(15:26):
and these and this curricula in direct contradiction to state law?

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Do we know that?

Speaker 6 (15:32):
Well? Neither Texas A and M, nor it's parent, by
the text A and M University system respond to our
quest for comment. So I have no answers to you
from them about this. All we know was from this
documentation what was being promoted and what was offered last fall?

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Well, now what about these people have to answer to somebody, right,
So my understanding is these boards of regents and the
the higher ups at A and M answer to ultimately
the governor.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
Do they not correct? They are appointed at the Board
of Regents is appointed by the governor and confirmed by
the state Senate.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
Okay, so this would be these would be fantastic questions
for senators in the state of Texas for the Governor's
office to say, look that this, this seems to be
in direct contradiction to what established law in Texas is.
Did you guys in your article, did you talk to
any elected official, maybe even a senator who weighed in

(16:35):
on what you guys uncovered.

Speaker 6 (16:38):
We went directly to the Texan and university system because
they're the ones who are accountable. But it is worth
noting Chris that this is not the first time that
tech A and M has been found to advance transgender
ideology and healthcare. In February twenty twenty four, their student
health services were found to have provided prescriptions for hormone
replacement therapies, and after this was exposed, the university announced

(17:02):
these services would no longer be provided. So this is
part of a pattern. And as I said, we will
see what happens later. They said they're going to audit
every course and we'll quote ensure full compliance with all
pluckable laws. So we'll see if the heeled course changes
at all.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
As the time comes, folks were talking at Robert Montoya,
investigative reporter over there a Texas Scorecard A and M
at the center of another controversy. This time this was
an article written by Adam Kahn at the Texas Scorecard.
Texas A and M sent DEI what I call DEE
proponent to new accreditation agency. Two board members of the

(17:42):
Objective Option for Accreditation have pro DEI records.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
What's this all about.

Speaker 6 (17:50):
Well, Chris. After there was a lot of public outcry
following the revelations what was happening in higher education, particularly
after Governor Ron DeSantis was calling for accountability. One of
the issues that was raised is the fact that a
lot of accreditation agencies that give accreditation universities, they're requiring

(18:10):
DEI in a lot of this left wing in doctor nation.
So what do you do? Well, an alternative was let's
create an alternative accreditation agency. So In June, texa AM
announced it would be joining other universities in the United
States to create the Commission for Public Higher Education, and
Chancellor Glenn Hagard said, this is going to be an

(18:33):
objective option for accreditation. Well, we've been doing some digging
on the board of directors of this institution. We found
that on the board is doctor James Hallmark, the current
Vice president Academic Affairs for Texas A and M's University system.
He was recently the acting president after Mark Welsh's departure,

(18:55):
but it was revealed that he had promoted DEI policies
sees and support them previously. So to find out that, okay,
he's no longer acting present, but he's still on this board,
that raised questions of well, what exactly is he doing
on this board? What is will he be promoting since
it's supposed to be an objective alternative.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
That's a fantastic question. So this board was touted by
Glenn hagar and others across the country as an alternative,
a way to stop this mind virus, if you will,
of this wokeism of the diversity, inclusion, equity nonsense, all
this trans nonsense. And so they create a new ratings

(19:39):
agency to get back to, you know, praise God academics.
So some of their first appointments are devotees to diversity,
inclusion equity?

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Is that what I'm reading?

Speaker 6 (19:49):
It is not just mister A. Hallmark. We looked into
other members of the board and what we discovered was
that a second board member also has a DEI leanings.
That member is mister doctor Mark Becker. He chairs the
board and previously, when he became president of the Association
of Public and Land Grant Universities, he was praised for

(20:13):
his strong commitments to advancing DEI through innovation. That was
something linked to him.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
So when you confronted these individuals who were forming this board,
I'm assuming you guys sent out questionnaires to mister Hagar
and such.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
What was your response?

Speaker 6 (20:34):
They did not respond to us, not all. And we
went to Scott doctor Scott Yenner, he's a Heritage Foundation
scar You've had him on your program, yes, yes, and
again we talked to him about We asked for his
comment about this. He told us, Look, people can repent
of their commitment to DEI. They always do, but the
repentance must be public and they must burn boats as

(20:55):
far as Attorney Dei, and he recommended both doctor Becker
and Hallmark should be asked and proving questions about their commitments.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Yeah, you know, it's if this is truly what it
is and not a because you and I have been
down this road before. They find ways of getting their
agenda through, even under the guise of claiming, oh, we're
stopping the agenda. Oh no, no, no, no, we're just relabeling it.
That's what's when they said they banned critical race theory

(21:23):
in the state of Texas, well they didn't. They just
renamed critical race theory something else, and they were implementing
its precepts. So this is kind of in line with that.
H So as a follow up, are you going to
continue to persist and ask Glenn Hagar's office for any
feedback or are you going to go a different route.

Speaker 6 (21:44):
We'll continue to watch. I even checked today as the
day we're talking about whether or not mister Hallmark is
still on the board, and at the time I checked,
he was still listed there. So we're going to keep
watching because it isn't concerning question what is this Commission
for Public Higher Education actually going to do? Is it
going to be a better alternative, or it will be

(22:05):
will be more of the same time, will.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Tell yeah, no kidding, and well I know you're gonna
keep us posted. Robert Montoy everybody, investigative reporter for the
Texas Scorecard.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Always appreciate catching.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
Up, buddy.

Speaker 6 (22:18):
Thank you very much. Chris.

Speaker 2 (22:20):

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
