Stuff Love Podcast, I'm your host Diami Banks, and today
we are standing at a very a very sacred threshold.
It is that place where our body's wisdom meets our
(01:13):
willingness to listen, where our past decisions meets our present
courage and where our fear meets our faith. But this
week has been such an incredible and emotional week. I mean,
we journey through honor in our bodies wisdom, but the
reality of systems that's profit from our silence. We learn
(01:34):
from the beautiful Low about and about listening to our
inner voice and trusting our knowing. And we've explored with
doctor Will what it means to truly embrace our body
and understand our self worth. Well, today I want to
talk about something that's been heavy on my heart. What
happens when your body becomes your greatest teacher and the
(01:56):
courage it takes to be is stupid. Before we get
deep into this topic today, let's take a cool breaker, right,
it's you, Gurty Gotta Standard Banks here on this season
and Stuffalo podcast and we'll be right back.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Washington wells into two focuses on healing. Always for me,
if I look good, then I feel good. If I
feel good, then I share the good. If I share
the good, then I celebrate the good. If I celebrate
the good, then I live the good. So I can
be paid to be my greatest But I have to
learn the good to be the good.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
So what does it take to be the greatest.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
It's as simple as a free fifteen minute consultation.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Just make sure you to me Thursday night, six pm.
Specific cent of time to go to Exdama dot com
and Telenami Sea. All right, remember for people, welcome back.
This whole entire month has truly been something been something,
(03:30):
all right. So before we get into this topic, let's
do a nice grounding meditation, all right. So if you
can just find a comfortable position wherever you are, close
your eyes if you can, and I want you to
take a deep breath in through your nose, hold it
gently for a moment now, ex hell, I want you
(03:57):
to imagine your body as a wise teacher who's been
trying to get your attention. Can you see it? Can
you see the teacher now? I want you to see
this teacher with loving eyes, patient hands, and infinite wisdom
(04:17):
about what you truly need. Now, your next breath, I
want you to breathe in openness to learning, and I
want you to breathe out resistance to change. Now, this
next breath, I want you to breathe in trust in
(04:38):
your body's intelligence. And I want you to breathe out
doubt in your own knowing. And this breath right here,
I want you to breathe in courage to listen, and
I want you to breathe out fear of what you
might hear. Now I want you to place your hands
(05:02):
on your heart and feel that steady rhythm. Your body's
first lesson is consistency and showing up and never giving
up on you. And I'll say silently, I am ready
to be taught, I am willing to learn. I trust
(05:26):
the wisdom within me, and I'll take one moretip. Breath in,
and when you are ready, open your eyes and bring
that receptive energy with you. All right, my beautiful people,
if you are new here to this season A Suffler
Podcast It's something we do every day, Monday through Friday,
just to help ground us before we get into the
(05:47):
top of your hand. All right, So the teacher you
never asks for, This is what it's all about. When
your body is the teacher. Are you truly ready to
be the student? You know, my beautiful people. As I
sit here just days away from my expert surgery, I've
(06:10):
been reflecting on how my body has been trying to
teach me for years. Through my migraines that would leave
me bed written, through my vertico that made me feel
like the world was spinning out of control. Through my
brain fog so thick I couldn't find my words. But
(06:30):
for the longest time, I was the student who wasn't
paying attention in class. I was looking everywhere else for
the answer. To doctors who wanted to meditate, medicate me.
They wanted to medicate the symptoms, to external validation that
told me my worth was tied to my appearance, to
(06:55):
the system, to system that profits from keeping us uninformed
about our own bodies. But on Monday, when I watched
that explant documentary and I learned the truth about how
breast plants were created. A man walking down a hospital hallway,
(07:22):
massage in a blood bag and thinking, this feels like
breast I realized how many of us have been taught
by teachers who never had our best interests at heart.
Let that sick it for a moment. How many of
(07:43):
us have been taught by teachers who never had our
best interests at heart. Laura Bouten shared with us on
Wednesday that thirty three years ago, when there was no
social media, there were no support groups, no resources, she
(08:04):
had to learn to trust that inner voice that said,
what is different in my life? That voice led her
to realization that her implants were making her sick. That's
the kind of inner teacher that I'm talking about, the
one that doesn't need external validation, the one that speaks
(08:26):
truth even when is inconvenient, even when its challenges everything
that we thought we knew about ourselves. So let me
ask you this. When your body speaks a language you
don't want to understand, what is that. Here's what I
(08:47):
learned about being taught by your body. It doesn't speak
in the language of convenience. It doesn't wait for you
to be ready. It doesn't care about your time, or
your plans or what you think you can handle. Your
(09:07):
body speaks in symptoms. It speaks in energy levels. It
speaks in what makes you feel alive and what makes
you feel drained. It speaks in what you crave and
what you reject. It speaks in inflammation and healing, intension
(09:28):
and release. For twenty one years of my life, my
body was speaking to me in a language I didn't
want to understand, because understanding meant me admitting that the
choices I made from a place of insecurity had consequences.
(09:52):
Understanding meat meant facing the possibilities that the very things
I thought made me more worthy of love were actually
disconnected me from my authentic self. You see, doctor Will
and I we talked on Monday about embracing our bodies
(10:13):
in our self worth, about the difference between external validation
and then the internal knowing right, And that truth is
is learning to be taught by your body requires you
to value, to value internal knowing over external approval. So
(10:39):
let's talk about the curriculum of courage. And we're gonna
call this the curriculum of courage. This is when your
body becomes your teacher. The curriculum isn't always what you
choose for yourself. Now, I'm gonna give you my bodies
curriculums and what's included in it, all right, And one
(11:01):
is paying attention to the subtle signs, the subtle signals. See,
before the migraines became unbearable, there were subtle signs fatigue
that didn't make sense, mood changes, small inflammation. But I
was too busy achieving, I was too busy performing. I
(11:28):
was too busy being who I thought I needed to
be to listen to the whispers before they came my screens.
And my lesson, too, was distinguishing between fear and intuition.
(11:48):
Fear says something terrible is going to happen, That's what
fear says. But intuition says something needs your attention. I
spent the past few years, especially this year, learning the distance,
the difference between the two voices. This has been crucial
(12:11):
in my journey. Fear kept me, excuse me, kept me
from seeking answers. But intuition led me to that Sunday
morning at my altar when everything became clear. So let's
(12:36):
talk about less than three in my curricular, in my
body curricular and y'all, this has to be has been
the hardest lesson. I'm a woman who likes to plan,
who likes to have control, who likes to know what's
(12:59):
coming next. But my body taught me that true healing
requires surrender. Surrender to not knowing exactly how things will unfold,
Surrender to trusting the process, Surrender to being guided by
(13:22):
something deeper than my mind and my lesson. For it's
a difference between healing and curing. You know, the medical
system wanted to cure my symptoms with medication, but my
(13:44):
body was teaching me about healing, addressing the root cause,
removing what doesn't serve, creating a space for my natural
vitality to return. You see, healing isn't about going back
to who you were. It's about coming who you've always been,
(14:06):
underneath everything that was covering your true self. Well, let
me be real with you. Being taught by your body,
it isn't easy because everything in our culture resists this
kind of learning. We're taught to override our body signals
(14:29):
to push through to medicate symptoms, rather than listen to
their messages. We're taught that productivity matters more than rest,
that external appearences matters more than that internal wellness. Quick
(14:49):
fixes are better than deep healing. Medical authorities know more
about our bodies than we do, and symptoms are problems
to rather than message is to understand. But what if
we flipped all of that. What if we honored rest
(15:13):
as sacred. What if we prioritize how we feel over
how we look? What if we saw symptoms as our
bodies ways of protecting us, guiding us, and teaching us.
It started about learning to trust the teacher within us. Right. See,
(15:37):
here's what I've discovered about trusting your body as a teacher.
Your body never lies. It doesn't have an agenda except
for your well being. It doesn't care about the profit
margins or the images what others think. It only cares
about your health, your vitality, your life. Your body speaks
(16:05):
your truth even when your mind is confused, even when
others are telling you different things. Your body knows what's
real for you. It knows what nourishes you and what
depletes you. It knows what's aligned and what's not. Your
body has that perfect timing. When I get those that
(16:28):
unbearable migraine on Monday and I had to lay down.
I was frustrated because I had things to do. Recordings
to make social media to post. But if I hadn't
been stilled, I wouldn't have watched that documentary. My body
knew exactly what I needed to receive that information. You see,
(16:52):
your body holds history. Every experience that you've had is
stored in your cellular memory. Your body remembers trauma, but
it also remembers healing. It remembers what safety feels like,
what loves feels like, what home feels like in your
(17:15):
own skin. So how do we become a willing students
of our own body wisdom? How do we learn to
listen to and trust this inner teacher? Or let's start
with those daily check ins. Start each day by asking
(17:38):
your body, what do you need today? How are you feeling?
What would support you? And then actually listen to the answer. Yes,
listen to the answer. Maybe it's more water, Maybe it's
(18:01):
more movement, maybe it's rest, Maybe it's a difficult conversation
that you've been avoiding. And let's talk about those body
scanning If you don't know what those are throughout the day,
do a quick body scan. Start from the top of
your head and move down to your toes where you
(18:28):
are holding tension. Ask it where am I holding tension?
Where do I feel at ease? What is your body
telling you about your current environment, your current choices, your
current state of being. Let's talk about honoring your no.
(18:57):
Your body will tell you when something is in the
right for you. Maybe it's food that doesn't agree with you,
a relationship that drains you, a situation that makes you
feel unsafe. Learn to honor your bodies, know, even if
it's inconvenient. But then, I don't want you to forget
(19:20):
about celebrating your yes. You see, your body will always
tell you when something is it align and when it
is aligned with you, you feel energy, You feel expansion,
you feel excitement. Learn to recognize and follow your bodies yes,
even when it doesn't make logical sense, and it starts
(19:48):
to create a ripple effect of your body's wisdom. So
when you start learning from your body, when you start
trusting its wisdom, something beautiful happens. You begin to trust
yoursel in all areas of your life. You make decisions
from a place of inner knowing rather than that external pressure.
(20:10):
You create boundaries that honor your well being. You attract
relationships and opportunities that align with your true self. And
here's the beautiful thing. Your willingness to listen to your
body gives others permission to listen to theirs. Your courage
(20:33):
to trust your inner knowing aspires others to trust theirs.
Your journey of healing becomes medicine for the collective. Or
my body's greatest lessons you want to know. You want
to know what my body's greatest lesson has been through
(20:54):
this explan journey. That I am so worthy of love
and respect, exactly exactly as I am, without any external
additions of modifications. That my value isn't my appearance but
(21:17):
in my essence. That true, true feminine power isn't in
confirming to external standards, but in honoring my authentic self.
Twenty one twenty two years ago, when I got my
(21:38):
implanse because I didn't think I was enough as I was.
But today today I'm removing them because I know that
I am more than enough as I am. That the
journey from external validation to internal knowing. That's the journey,
from being taught by others to being taught by the
(22:00):
wisdom within my beautiful people. This is what self love
is all about. This is why I created this podcast,
and I pray to God that you look and you
see when you see Naomi and you hear me, and
(22:22):
you say, Okay, that's what that is, and she not
faking it because I've seen her go through this in
real time. So when I gifted myself at fifty one
years old, and I say I gifted myself that because
I took the courage to say, look, let me step
(22:42):
out and let's talk about self love because I can
no longer sit and counsel people relationships about their relationships
are loving one another. When we don't even know the
blueprint or how to love ourselves. We don't know what
it takes to love ourselves. We don't know what it
takes for us to be our authentic selves because we
(23:04):
forever searching for external validation. So when I decided to
close that first book of fifty years of my life
and open a new book and start to create and
create that story, I knew. I knew at fifty years
(23:26):
old that this next book was going to be one
that would change lives. It would change my life, it
would change my children life, it would change my husband,
my mother's I said, everyone, that's a part of this
(23:47):
in this second book. But for me to truly make
that happen. You need to get with that self love. Yeah. So,
if you are listening to this and your body has
been trying to teach you something through symptoms, do fatigue
(24:11):
through that inner voice that says something needs to change.
I wanted you to know that you are not crazy,
You're not being dramatic, and you're not asking for too much.
Your body is your ally, not your enemy. It's trying
to guide you towards your highest good. It's trying to
(24:31):
protect you, heal you, lead you home to yourself. Maybe
your body is teaching you to leave a job that's
draining your life force. Maybe it's to enn a relationship
that no longer serves you. Maybe it's to address a
health issue that you've been ignoring. Or maybe change how
(24:54):
you're eating, moving, or sleeping. What about us? Removed something
from your life that toxic, or add something to your
life that is nourishing. Trust your intuition over external opinions.
Choose your well being over others expectations. So, whatever your
(25:16):
body is teaching you, know that you have everything you
need within you to be a good student. You have
the wisdom to discern what's true for you. You have
the courage to make changes that honor your well being.
You have the strength to trust yourself even when others
(25:36):
don't understand. So, as we stand at this threshold Thursday,
I want you to recognize that every moment you choose
to listen to your body's wisdom, you're crossing a threshold
from disconnection to connection, from external authority to internal authority,
(26:06):
and from surviving to thriving. This is it not always comfortable.
Growth rarely is, but it is sacred work, and it
is truly sacred work. It's the work of coming home
(26:26):
to yourself. It's the work of reclaiming your power from
systems and people and beliefs that never had your best
interests at heart. All right, my beautiful people. Like I
(26:46):
mentioned before earlier in other episodes, is that we added
a closing meditation. So I want to close with this
meditation of gratitude to our bodies, our inner teachers. All right,
So if you guys your eyes right now, just place
your hand, your hands wherever it feels good on your.
Speaker 5 (27:05):
Body, your heart, your belly, your shoulders, and I want
you to take a deep breath and say thank you
to your body.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Every breath. It takes without you having to think about it.
I want you to think every heartbeat that keeps you alive.
I want you to think every time it has healed
from an injury or illness. I want you to think
every time it's signal it gives you about what you need.
(27:41):
I want you to think it every moment it has
carried you through joy and sorrow, and think it every
way it has tried to protect and guide you. Now,
make this commitment. I promise to listen to you with love.
This is a commitment to your body. I promise to
(28:05):
listen to you with love. I promise to honor your wisdom.
I promise to trust your guidance. I promise to treat
you with the respect you deserve. Feel that connection, Feel
(28:25):
that partnership between your conscious mind and your body's wisdom.
This is the relationship that will guide you through any transformation. Now,
I want you to take one more deep breath in,
and when you're already, open your eyes. All right, my
(28:47):
beautiful people, Tomorrow is Freedom Friday, and we're going to
talk about what it means to step into complete authenticity,
the freedom that comes when you stop performing for others
and you start living for yourself. So until then, I
want you to practice being a student of your own
body's wisdom. I want you to listen with love, and
(29:08):
trust with courage, and act with conviction. Your body has
been so so faithful to you. It has been your
faithful companion do everything, and it's time to honor that relationship.
I love you, I see you, and I am grateful
to be on this journey with you all. Have a beautiful,
