THIS YEAR THE FEAR IS BIGGER & BADDER.

Spooky season has finally arrived, which means so has another year of horror at Scarywood Theme Park! It's a freakish tradition, terrifying the living from all across the Pacific Northwest since 2009. In this week's episode, Sara Jean & Jordan are joined by Scarywood Entertainment Manager, RaeAnn Kuykendall, to talk all things big. And all thing bad. Imagine the Scarywood you know, but jacked up on steroids. That's 2025's version.

For those brave enough to face the ghoulishness behind the gates, use caution, because this year's monsters are very hungry and very good at the hunt. Will you be their next victim?

Come joined up fun s, come tied up fun.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
Well, welcome to this week's episode of Is it the
silver Wood Show Podcast? Or are we kind of officially

Speaker 4 (00:22):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
I feel like today the Scary Wood Show.

Speaker 4 (00:24):
I mean obviously. Yeah, if you're just listening, the room
is decorated.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Yeah, Amanda and I worked really hard to give it
a little bit of a feel because last year at
this time we were actually in blood by your recording,
and now we're kind of screwed.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Well you can't really move and screwed into.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
The wall, screwed into the walls, got it? Okay, Okay, okay,
this is off to a great start so far.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
I've had a lot of candy.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
I brought Jordan Kennedy so that I don't get in
trouble for my decorating. Yeah, but we we are ready
and run to go for Scary Wood. So that's what
this week's episode is all about.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
But why don't we just jump right in?

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Should I tell them.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Who we are?

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Yeah? We should? No, No, you don't.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Think so because this is a new audience potentially, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Because it's scared introduce everybody.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
All right, Well, I am Sarah and I'm your host,
and I'm also the PR manager here at Silverwood slash Scarywood.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yeah, Jordan, go ahead.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
I'm Jordan. I'm the director of Marketing and Entertainment and
director of Scarywood this time of year.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Ryan, We've got Ryan in the house. She was also
on our second episode last season. Go ahead and introduce yourself.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Ran. So I work at Scarywood during the regular season
and entertainment and then I switched to scary Wood, and
I'm your entertainment scary Wood manager.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
And she is.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
She and Jordan are like a dream team, let me
tell you, and we will talk about why thank you
guys are a dream team and how amazing this year's
bigger Badder Swine is here in a little bit.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
But let's kick things off with the park.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Pulse horn pulls.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
All right, So should we talk about wrapping up Silverwood
seasons first?

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Yes? We should, yeah, because it just wrapped.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Yeah, literally, So how was you were here on Sunday?

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Right?

Speaker 4 (02:12):
I didn't come actually, yes, came in on Sunday. Yeah.
It was great. We actually were able to ride all
the big attractions that we wanted to me and my daughter.
We jumped on Tremors, Timber tear Backwards, such a good one.
We did spin Cycle, we did stunt Pilot. She's a
half inch short for Aftershock next year, so she was bummed.

(02:33):
But next year we're going to be doing that. So
it was great. Though. We got to say bye do
all the train actors who laughed after after Sunday, and
a couple of them stayed on for Scarywood, which is
kind of fun. But it was a great day.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Well good, I'm glad we get to keep a couple
of them. That was a great team. Great team. Shout
out to the entertainment crew this year because they're fantastic. Yeah,
they really really were so and I know they made
you guys' lives a lot easier.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
Yeah, yeah, I really did. That's true.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
The happier you two are, the better. So does that mean,
well you're my boss? I got it?

Speaker 3 (03:08):
But anything else you want to say about the season?
What was your favorite thing.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
My favorite thing of the whole season? Gosha, I think
writing Tremors for the first time was a highlight after
like the big upgrade that they did.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
And that was amazing.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
It was super fun.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
So smooth and fast.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Yeah, very fast, and I don't know, I think it was.
It really accomplished everything that we wanted to do, which
was decrease that line. And there was never a line
there like the whole season. I didn't see a line
really at all. So now it's time all about efficiency
and moving on to other rides and getting those of
fishing as well.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Yeah, and it will be running during Scarywood.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
It will be yes, yes, forwards, Yes tever terror goes backwards,
Terminus was forwards. So there's a lot of people that
get confused about that.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Yeah, so you didn't have it running last year because
we were working on just the last.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Weekend, just the last week Yeah, we didn't have a running.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
But but yeah, so that was the season. So to
everybody who came out and supported Silverwood this year. Will
be doing our community appreciation check distributions here real soon,
so we'll let you know how that turned out. And yeah,
thanks to everybody. We're coming out making another great Silverwood season.
But spooky season is here.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
If you couldn't tell if you're watching by Sarah's headdress
that she is wearing wolf, she has a big wolf
headdress on. And yeah, that's all I can say about character.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
I gotta be in character.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
What's funny is that it doesn't even PHASEE me, no,
like this is just this is normal for you.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
This is absolutely normal. Why we're decorating.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah, your desk has all this stuff like my childhood
coming into reality honestly. Yeah, stuffed animals, all the things
that are soft and I can pet and you play
with exactly. I get twice every single day. But we
had a little bit of dry Run, yes.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
And we did have a little bit of dry Run. Yes.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
So much fun.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Yeah, it's always fun, so much fun. It's always it's
always kind of a lot of work. Dry Run is crazy.
Ray and Chryce speak to more of the work that
goes behind scenes for dry Run.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
It's one of the longest days because everybody's like what
do I do? Yeah, how do I get my costume?
How do I get makeup? And what are we doing?

Speaker 1 (05:23):
And the little questions and the things that.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
We're still trying to close the park, so we have
to wait till all the guests are cleared and they
get to go home, and then we get to go
into the park and practice. So it's a long, long
night and as much as you tell them to dress warm,
get your bass layers on, and it's going to be
a long night. Stay hydrated, bring your water. They all
forget and it takes a while to get through the

(05:47):
park and practice our evacuations and all of our safety
protocols and getting them to practice all the little Heidi
holes and how to scare.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
It's fun watching you too, though, Like when you two
like come together and you're just like ready and raring
to go, it really is.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
You're like the dream team.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
And I got to hang out with Rayan for a
little bit there as we were kind of getting the
lines going and sniphening people through, and I got to
see her side a little bit better than the side
I normally get to see.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
And yeah, you have a lot on your show.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
Oh yeah, a lot, a lot, so yes, but but yeah,
it was very successful and it was really cool seeing
everybody come back together as a family and see each
other again and yeah, yeah, and.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
I think it just because it was so smooth, that
only proves to us that, like the season's gonna be
really good season. Yeah, and just seeing like you said,
everybody come together and even the new Haunters like scare
for the first time. That's always a hard thing, like
timing and all that, and it will only get better.
But it was pretty good for the first night.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
They did well, yes I was. I mean, you were
with me, you saw me in this line.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
So we had some of our seasoned actors, I think
they're on year nine or ten, and they got so
scared and a job. She's like, I paid my pants
And that was from Megan.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Yeah, let's she's a good actor, one of.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Our seasoned ones.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Let's just say I thought.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
I was over my sickness and then I screamed bloody
murder throughout all of this line and no, no.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
The boys just went away.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
So yeah, I'm going to blame those pigs for the
crackling voice. But yeah, the dry run was great. Any
hiring updates, What are we looking at right now?

Speaker 4 (07:34):
We are finished, finish tiring.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Finish tiring, yep, every position all we are full. Okay, cool,
and we're done.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
It does and we're done earlier than we were last year.
So we're excited for this year. Yeah, I mean, we
just have a great team.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Yeah, we do, and a big team this year too.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Yeah. So it's about the same as last year. But
we've we've moved people around, so I think it will
feel more Yeah, yeah, fuller, especially in the laws.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Nice well.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Opening night is frid So we've got our first ever
scare fluencers.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Yes, talk about that, and I'm super excited.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
So we decided that one of the best ways for
us to kind of get the word out about Scary
Wood is through our region's amazing influencers. And we've got
some great influencers around here who are just so community
driven and I mean just there's so many of them,
and it's so hard sometimes with the conductor season because
we would love to choose more than fifteen. And so

(08:34):
this gives us an opportunity to kind of get some
of the influencers that we weren't.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Jordan's over here.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
I knew those were going to come in handy, but yeah,
we decided to call them scare Fluencers. And so we've
got about gosh, my last count actually right before I
came in here, we're at one hundred and thirty one
scare fluencers coming through to basically scream a.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Lot of screen.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
So we need to give them a good show.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
We're going to give them a good show.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
So yeah, it's really exciting.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
Still that'll happen opening night and that's going to be
a lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
So if you're a scare fluencer, if you know a
scare fluencer and you think that I missed somebody, let
me know.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Well.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
And then we also have the next weekend, we have
Local coming Back. Local Lens is coming back Seattle Local
Lens and with with Kelly and Jose. Kelly and Jose,
So they're going to come out and experience Scary Way.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
It's going to be amazing.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
And if you guys listened to the podcasts that we
did with them, or if you watched the behind the
scenes YouTube videos on their channel, you need to if
you haven't, because they're absolutely hilarious.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
And I don't think they've really experienced things like what
they're going to experience here. So they've never been to
Scary I've never been a Scary Way. No, Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
If you thought Kelly was funny on the rides, I
can't wait to see Kelly. But I have a feeling
though I kind of want to make it bad. I
think that Jose is going to be more scared. I
just I see it coming. He talks of a game,
so I don't know. We'll see what happens. But yeah,
so we'll be talking about that coming up as well.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
Yeah, they're coming out on the eleventh, on.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
The eleventh, so if you're out here on the eleventh
celebrity sidings.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
Yeah, they're really coming out on my birthday.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
But oh yeah, that's right, and yes everyone, because you
realize how we had to do that.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
He had to just kind of drop it.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
Jordan's birthday is coming up on the eleventh, so bring him.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Cake, chocolate.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Last year for your birthday, that was my first birthday
here your birthday, there was like literally a line of
people lined up to give Jordan presents.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
I've never seen that in my life.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
I don't think I really had to experience that either,
because I think my birthday hasn't li lined up since
we kind of been in this position.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
Yeah, so this last year it did, and this year
it is.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
At that table was just full of cakes and cookies
and treats and all the things that you got your cute.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
Little mud the mug. The mug was the best.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
That mug perfect for you.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
It really was, and I use it all the time.
So for those who don't know, at the end of
the night. I always dress up as a gilly gilly
bush and hiding the bush and scare people up to
an hour after close.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
He's known as the Gilly Man.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
Yeah. I once I got backstage, they gave me this
cup and it was a it was a man putting
on and as you rotated it, it like kind of
progressed the story. And he was putting on like a
gilly suit, and all of a sudden he turned into
a bush. And I was like, this is the most
thoughtful present I probably have ever gotten my into life.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Yeah, it was literally he was just he was beaming.
He was beaming. It was It was great.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
So bring Jordan presence, Bring Jordan treats, especially treats, because
then I can eat what's leftover. Oh yeah, so early
birthday Jordan. So yeah, let's kick things off with mil train.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
What do you think? All right, loyal listeners, We've got
about twenty.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
Seven hundred of you right now, So now we need
to reel in some of the scary wood listeners that
might not have signed up for a loyal listener program yet.
So I had two silverwithing Park dot Com Slash podcast.
You can sign up to be a loyal listener there,
and we just might be calling you to give away
a pair of tickets and some Silverwood or Scarywood cash.
So are we going to give them the choice this

(12:08):
week to do either Scarywood tickets or Silverwood twenty twenty six. Yes, okay,
very very cool. So we will get to that here
in just a minute. But first let's answer some questions
we had ashlynd V write in she wants to know
how does she become a scare actor?

Speaker 4 (12:23):
Raham can take this one.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Yeah, So we open up applications in August, okay, around
August first or second generally, So you go to work
at Silverwood dot com and you fill out your application,
and then we start auditions. We'll you'll get a call
from HR and they'll ask you to come in for
an audition. And they're really fun, goofy little things that

(12:45):
Jordan and I put on Bill Relaxed. We did these
auditions where they so we can see how you move
or how you talk. So we do all these fun
little goofy games, and then we sit down and we
decide where we're going to place everybody because it's a
big giant puzzle. Yeah, and so we kind of placed
people and see how that goes, and we ask them

(13:07):
to do the first weekend in that position and then
we'll evaluate, well, maybe they were better in this, and
then we can move people around so that we can
get the best haunters in the best places. So you
guys get the best scarers out there.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
Yeah, yeah, so next year in August.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
Next year in August. Yeah, and for our returners, we
always do what we call Midsummer Scream and that is
in mid July and really open audition applications for them
around that time to return, and we get a great
return rate. A lot of people have been here five, ten, thirteen.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Years or sixteen in Killer's case.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Yees, sixteen years.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
We have the fog Man.

Speaker 4 (13:46):
Oh and the fog Father.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
The fog Father has been around for fifteen years. I
think this year sixteen sixteen, so since the beginning. Yeah,
but it's really a great time for us to unveil
what's new for them upcoming season. So people get really
excited for that and it kind of kicks off the
Scary Wood season for us, which is mid July, and
people really aren't thinking about Halloween back then. Haunters they always.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Say, think about it.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Five days a year, seriously, and so do we. So
it's okay. It feels like the season is finally where
it's supposed to be. But thank you, Ashlynn. We hope
you'll apply next year.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Chris wrote in and wanted to know if you get
stuck on a roller coaster in the dark and the
lights go out.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
What do you do?

Speaker 4 (14:27):
What do we do?

Speaker 1 (14:28):
Yeah, well, I thought that was a good question.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
It's a good question. I mean, we have emergency evacuation
lighting that would kick on that is generator based. So
I don't say this will never happen, but we do
have protocols regardless on how to evacuate a roller coaster
if the lights are out, lights are on, if ore,
all that stuff. So that being said, this is all practiced.

(14:51):
It's stuff that you don't have to worry about because
we will worry about it for you.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
Yeah, exactly. So yeah, I was thinking about that.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
I'm like, oh, gosh, lights go out, But you're right,
we do have backup generators all of that. So interesting,
Thanks Chris. Good question because I didn't know the answer either.
So Ursulav wrote in, she wants to know what's your
best strategy or order for hitting all the haunted attractions
as scary would Yeah. Best strategy is is I mean
run to the back, right, I say go, That's what I.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
Say, South to north, So south would be aftershock and
so going all the way down there. I would recommend
hitting timber Tare first if you're one of the first
in the park, because we can control the lines a
little bit better at Haunts, but timber Terre is going
to be more. Yeah, it's going to be a slower
line if you're waiting a while and it's on the way,

(15:41):
So I hit that, and then I would hit probably
the swine first, yes, and then chuckles, and then work
your way back through Pharaoh's Planet Zombie and then end
with blood Byume and then do it all over again. Okay,
but a little plug here. If you have a group
of twenty five or more, you can book a group
and you can book what our monster meal, which we've

(16:04):
used to have monster miils way back in the day,
back in like twenty fifteen was the last time we
had monster meals, And basically what this is is it's
a meal before the park opens. You can get in
at six and you get monsters roaming around in the
theater of Illusion and then you get let out into
the park five minutes early, so you get basically free
access to whatever haunt you want or a ride you want.

(16:28):
So really that's the best way. But you have to
book a group of twenty five or more and then
you have to book the meal together.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
Okay, very very cool, and we will talk about Mark.
We will talk about yes here in a little bit.
So there's your answer, Ursula. We hope we'll see you
out at scarry Wood this season. Let's call this week's
loyal listener, randomize.

Speaker 4 (16:47):
That we have a winner.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
All right, we're looking.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
At number two, six, five seven this week.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
Hello, Hey, is Robin there?

Speaker 4 (17:05):
This is him?

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Hey Robin, This is Sarah ge and Jordan and ray
Anne with the Silverwood Show podcast.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
You're this week's loyal listener.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
How are you good?

Speaker 4 (17:15):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (17:15):
We're doing well so good. We just wrapped up the
Silverwood season. We're heading into scary Wood, and we wanted
to give you a pair of tickets to either Scarywood
or Silverwood for twenty twenty six for being our loyal listener.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
Oh, for twenty twenty six, what about this year? It's
close If you want to come for a Scarywood's that's
the only thing that's open.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
They come for scarywood, so you get to choose either one.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
Yeah, we'll do the scary wood.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
That's what we like to hear.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
So in in that grand scheme of things, would you
like to play a little game with us for your
chance to win up to seventy five dollars in scarywood cash?

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Sure, awesome.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Okay, We're going to do a little game of true
or false with you, so super easy. You have to
have a fifty percent chance of getting it's correct, and
I'm going to give you a statement. Every time you
get it correct, you're going to get five dollars. And
then once we're done with our five statements, we'll go
onto a little sound bite, and if you can guess
what that sound is, you'll get an additional fifty dollars.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Sound good, It just sounds all right to being.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
All right, let's kick things off with the first true
or false. Let's see, there are over two hundred and
fifty monsters haunting scary Wood.

Speaker 4 (18:26):
True.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Five dollars, yay, five dollars in the bank. All right.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
Number two, The pigs in the swine are the good guys.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
False.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
Correct, Yes, the Swiner scary so let's say that much,
especially this year. All right, Timby Terror runs backward during
Scary Wood.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
True. You know you're racking it up.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
Fifteen dollars. Oh, I love it? All right?

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Next one, Blood by You is located in an old
ice shrink. True, Robin's killing it awesome. All right, we
got twenty dollars in the bank. This is your last
true or false. Scary Wood sold out of blood bags
in the first weekend last year.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
True. Those are popular. They were five dollars.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
We're more prepared this year.

Speaker 4 (19:22):
Yes, we are. We have lots more.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
Alright, Jordan's got your.

Speaker 4 (19:25):
Sound Okay, so I'm going to play a SoundBite. This
ride could be located in both either the theme park
or the water park, just so you know here it comes.
Do you know what ride that is?

Speaker 3 (19:42):
Is it Drop Zone.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
Better known as Panic Plunge or something else? Uh? Sure,
panic Plunge? Yeah, congratulations, seventy five dollars and the big
a pair of Scary Wood tickets.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
Uh, great job, Robin.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
I'm so glad you answered the phone.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
Yes you are so.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
I will give you a call here when we're done
with the podcast and get that all set up for
you and we'll call and uh until then, you know,
happy haunting you're ready.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
I feel like has has definitely Yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Yeah, so all right, we'll see you at Scary Wood
and we'll talk to you soon.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
Gratulation, Thank you, bye.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
That was awesome.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
That's the kind of like, well his stuff. Yeah, he
knew his stuff.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
He's gonna that's yeah, he's gonna have a lot of
fun at Scary Wood.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
So that's exciting. So good job, Robin. I think it's
time for the MC drop.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
Drop.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
Normally I would introduce ray On here, but we already
introduce so here she is and we're.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Gonna talks Scary Wood.

Speaker 3 (20:58):
She is in her l ment to everything is uh
is those final touches, so the final details of Yeah,
so let's.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
A little bit.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
Why don't you tell us, like what your favorite haunt is?
Maybe your favorite scary movie?

Speaker 1 (21:12):
I tell us a.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Little bit of a new favorite haunt?

Speaker 4 (21:15):
Yeah, what was it last year?

Speaker 1 (21:16):
So what was it last year?

Speaker 4 (21:20):
It was hard to pick. I think we were like, it.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Really is, yeah, because three D is always just your
classic three D with the glasses and it's just amazing
in there. Yea, and then by You is always just
a fun haunt to go through. But this year is
the Swine. I mean, I'm so excited for the Swine
is going to be amazing. There's so many little details

(21:42):
that have gone into the Swine this year, and so
it's exciting to inveil it.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Yeah, Sorr, are you a scary movie girl?

Speaker 2 (21:49):
No? No, I don't watch scary movies. I did in
high school that it's so crazy to movies about it
all time and I'm like, no, not so much.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
That is hilarious, Jordan.

Speaker 4 (21:59):
You are I I do like watching scary movies, but
I have to watch them by myself because my wife
does not like my.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Husband doesn't like them.

Speaker 4 (22:07):
So when I watch scary movies, it's on a plane
to wherever we're going because I'm watching it.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Watch it on your way to trans World.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Yeah, I mean yeah, I appa Transworld. Those are the
times when we watch scary.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
Movie that makes sense. That makes sense.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
So and a lot of your ideas for every season
comes from that transmittle journey, right, So what did you
bring back with you this year?

Speaker 4 (22:29):
A lot? Yeah, yeah, yeah, we gosh, we're trying to
think back to March Yeah, that's when.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
They start thinking about that, you guys in March, well
before that, right, But.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
I mean like we're trying to do those finite details
out there, but we're already thinking about next year. Yeah,
as we're trying to plan and what are we going
to bring everybody for next year?

Speaker 4 (22:48):
Well every year, at least, it seems like the last
five years. Every year is kind of a test trial
of how we can what we can do the following year.
So like this year, we've we've added some details that
were like, if this works out, this will work great
for the next year, building something different. So it's it's
always changing, but I mean really we have I don't know,
four or five ideas in our back pocket just in

(23:09):
case something were to switch or we were able to
add something new.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
At there's a lot always prepared.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
So so by the time we go to trans World,
we have our list, we know what we want exactly,
and we're always trying to improve how we can make
it more comfortable for our haunters. So we've been upgrading
our masks to half masks and just different things so
that way then that they'll be able to scare better
and be able to stay out there and.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
Get heard that in the crowd.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
Somebody had a half mask this year and they were
just going on and on. I was in the que line,
so it was like wrapped around and I could overhear
their conversation about how great it was because it was
so comfortable and moved.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
With their face. It was cooler.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
So, yeah, those little things are and we're bring so
many characters out there.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
And we've done that last at least two was shattered effect.
We probably started three years ago, years ago with our
the half masks, and we weren't looking back because they
really are able to provide a lot of detail that
we want and they're simple to put on, and they're
not as hot like we talked about. I mean, we
put a lot of people through makeup. I mean really

(24:15):
a lot of people through makeup.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
How would you say per night?

Speaker 4 (24:19):
Actually thirty probably something around that.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
Yeah. And so for reference, we have two hundred we have, yeah,
two hundred, three hundred haunters, yeah, or two hundred three hundred,
that's not the number, three hundred unters.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
Yeah, and we're getting them half of them basically through
makeup every single night.

Speaker 4 (24:36):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
Just crazy, those makeup artists are incredible, absolutely incredible. So, uh,
let's talk first a little bit about last year.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Just a quick little wrap up about last.

Speaker 3 (24:46):
Year, kind of like this is a new season, so
let's do our you know, like they do on TV shows.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
You know, I'm talking about talking about last year.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Yeah, just so that people can kind of jump right
into this, just.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
In case you missed out your weekend.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
You forgot a little recap.

Speaker 4 (25:01):
Okay, Yeah, So last year we introduced this idea of
the swine, which and this will probably flow right into
what's new for this upcoming year. So what we attempted
to do last year we kind of had like a
midsummer switch into the swine, And so we had this
idea in our head that cornfields are pretty scary, and

(25:24):
we want we really liked kind of the pigs from
back in Terra Canyan Trail and wanted to bring back
that idea of everything from that haunt and introducing it
in a different way. And so we had this idea
of like the three little pigs and turning it so
that the pigs were kind of the the aggressors in
this storyline, and we made the fence panels into like

(25:46):
a corn maze. And we made it so it was
an actual maze that people had to choose which way
they went, which was great in theory, but if you
came out, if you came out last year and you
experienced any sort of like pinch points of traffic and
all that kind of stuff, that's where it fell on
its face, really, yeah, because what we learned is that

(26:09):
some people would take different routes and it would be
a really quick haunt for them, where other people would
take longer routes and get lost and it would be
a long haunt, but they would kind of get frustrated
or they would get stuck in a long congo line.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Yeah. People wouldn't see our haunters out.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
Yeah. Right, That's the other thing is we had, I mean,
we had a lot of haunters, but if you go
one way, you're not seeing a lot of them, so
it doesn't feel like that. So we learned a lot
from what we did last year. Last year we introduced
the blood bags, which they're coming back and so we'll
talk about that here soon. And last year was a
good rebound for us as far as like attendance back

(26:42):
to what we felt like a normal level prior to COVID.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (26:46):
Yeah, well and into this year, so there's that segue
into something new. It's bigger, it's badder, and I can
definitely vouch for that.

Speaker 4 (26:56):
And it truly is. We're not like really just kind
of saying that. It is kind of like a little slogan.
It makes sense with the swine. Yeah, but walk in
the park, like not just the swine is bigger and
bout it, like everything is bigger and badder, Like, yeah,
the scare zones are pumped up big time with themine
and all that, and then the swine.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
We it's like scary what I'm steroids?

Speaker 4 (27:16):
Yeah, and I mean.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
It really is.

Speaker 4 (27:18):
And re read all the comments on Facebook and surveys
and all that stuff, and we hear it of like
this seemed like last year had more people all that
kind of stuff. I'm I can guarantee you like this
year you'll see the more the people, especially in the halls.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
Yeah, I mean the swine. Let's just talk about the swine.
Let's just jump right into the wine, because.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
You guys, seriously, if I could get down and like
bow down right now.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
And I go ahead, it's my head and wolves don't down. Okay, Okay,
but no, it was absolutely I mean Jordan had me
wait until that night to actually go check it out,
so I had literally no idea aside from the random
so funny go.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
In front of us.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
It was literally the first one through. Yeah, like for
the night they made me go for it.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
She's been a good one to go through.

Speaker 4 (28:12):
I'm sure she is.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
And I obviously knew about pig Mama. That was pretty
much it and so.

Speaker 4 (28:18):
Which she wasn't there for dry Rugs. So I mean,
it's only going to get better whence pig Mama comes back.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Yeah, seriously, and we'll have her on the podcast. So
but yeah, I just I I had an idea in
my head. I knew it was going to be great
because it's you guys. But it's exceptional, like absolutely exceptional,
Like that's the kind of thing that doesn't happen in
North Idaho. Let's just say that that is that is

(28:43):
like full on universal worthy type stuff. And just from
the second you walk in and you see the wolf stand,
it's like, yeah, we did this here.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
A lot of it is done fully in house, which
is really cool. So our Affects team did incredible job
on a lot of the interior design of some of
these these new buildings that we put in. So just
to like lay the foundation for people, we're introducing wolves. So, uh,
there is a there is a wolf den. You will

(29:15):
see wolves in this haunt and they're at war with
the pigs and so kind of to lay some background
and you might not even know this ram but based
off of your costume, and I came up with this
idea is these wolves are like so like primitive in
their like attacking and like they're kind of medieval in
their in their clothing and all that kind of stuff.

(29:37):
The pigs have innovated the chainsaw, and they invented the chainsaw,
and the chainsaw is no match for a wolf, and
so that's how they're slaughtering these things. And so that's
kind of like the idea behind.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
Is that where the circular saw comes in? Because that
scared the living daylights out of me. Yes, okay, that's
all I'm gonna say.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
Don't the pigs have invented power tools. Basically, you can't
you can't defend against that. So they're winning now and
they're willing to slay anything, yeah, in their way.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
So be careful because I was pretty sure I was
going to get sliced.

Speaker 4 (30:10):
Gosh, there's and there's so many harecrows, aren't It's true.
So so we have wolves. We have the wolf den.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Do you want to show?

Speaker 3 (30:19):
Oh yeah, got here since we're talking about the wolves,
and we will also put this on social we'll do
a little little real.

Speaker 4 (30:28):
For this is this is our wolf mask and this
is actually custom to us.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Very amazing they work with us if we he has
a full mask and we say hey, can we create
a half mask and we want this and he's like yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
So basically what they had kind of the mold for
the face, and we wanted it to be more wolf
and so they did the hair for us and did
the pain job for us so that it made and
matched what we were going for.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
But it is and that's one of the least bloody ones.

Speaker 4 (30:56):
Because the're trying not bloody. G this is not blood.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
This is the peach version of the one that terrifies me.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
So so we have we have these wolves and but
also new this year as we have uh straw house.
So last year we had the brick house, which is
where Mama lived, but we've brought in the straw house,
which is really really cool. I mean you'll know which one.
The straw house.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
It got me.

Speaker 4 (31:22):
I was straw everywhere, and there's some really good scare
spots and then we're not going to deal anything. Pigs
are messy, so they do they do like dolls. Little
known factors that pigs like dolls.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Terrifying, terrifying.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
That that was the scariest part for me, was that
part was that room.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
Yeah, well, but part of part of it is the
stick house was not done yet for a dry We
had a new prop actually come in today for for
the stickhouse, and then wells one installed yesterday. So the
stickhouse is uh, definitely better than it was for right,

(32:00):
And so the stickhouse is for those listening, is like
the processing plant for the pigs and they are chopping
up everything in there.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
Goodness okay.

Speaker 4 (32:10):
And then we get to the bridgehouse, which is back
where Mama is and that is very similar to last year.
But the whole maze itself, there's there's we came up
with an idea of like a linear pathway, but there
are hay bales and stuff that create this sense of
a maze.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
But it really were the one direction. But you end
up in the same yes.

Speaker 4 (32:27):
But you're really moving towards a common goal, which is.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
Which you can say this, I mean it's a long haunt.
It's not your quick little I mean it.

Speaker 4 (32:35):
Takes it's the longest hunt we have.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Like it's crazy, like you.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
Feel like you're never going to get out, and then
there's just another thing and then another thing, and you've
got eight thousand picks.

Speaker 4 (32:44):
Right. I haven't measured it yet, but I know I
know how roughly how long Blood by You is, So
I want to measure it to see, like what's the
walking distance that you would take for this one, because
I'm sure it's going to be quite a bit longer
than Blood by You.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
Okay, that's just say, yeah, we need to figure that out.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
To figure it out.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
Don't miss it, you guys, if you're listening, if you're watching,
do not miss it.

Speaker 4 (33:07):
And it's it's funny because like you come up with
like these scare ideas and it's like, is this gonna work?
I don't know, but when you see it in action
and it's working, and it's like we nailed it this time,
and we there's more to it too than than that,
which is really really fun and I and I hope
people actually really enjoy it and take the time to
like appreciate the details that go into it, even.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
The way that you have the lights directed so that
it's like you're blinded so you can't see.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
How long did that take us?

Speaker 4 (33:34):
Hours? We walked them, we walked the park, And what
time was It was after our scare zone training, so
that was right around seven and we didn't get done
with it till ten. Yeah, three hours, and we were
just everything. We're like, okay, you stand there, let me
direct the light. Okay, can you see me? No, Okay,
it's perfect, Okay, let's move this. Hey, bail. There's so

(33:55):
much that went into that to.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Check every light in the house, make sure it's shining down,
and ad lights and change the color of the lights.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
Yeah, well it worked. It works.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
I was blind as could be and terrified left and right, and.

Speaker 4 (34:12):
Well it's it's so funny because like it wasn't until
a little theater like, Okay, we need to blind people,
because that's really and blind people is like, not, ye don't,
you're not actually blinding you, but we're making it hard
to see dark corners basically, And so but when.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
You give it away, you want to be surprised.

Speaker 4 (34:28):
I want that scare and it's it's crazy because when
you have a light that's shining and it's not directly
in your eyes, you can totally see someone's in there.
But once you start to direct that light, it's near
impossible to see the people that are sitting there.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
I would tell people take your time, you know, and
really don't don't rush.

Speaker 3 (34:50):
That's one thing I wish because I as soon as
the first scream happened, I was booking it.

Speaker 4 (34:57):
You need to go in the day. We should take
you down and see the new stuff because the new
stuff as well.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
For sure we'll get some pictures and stuff. But so
that's this one. Let's leave it at that. Give a
little bit to the nation. What else do we have
new this year? I want to talk about Monster Meal.

Speaker 4 (35:10):
Monster Meals. Yes, we already kind of touched on yeh
a little bit, but in the group setting. But for
the first time ever, we're opening up to the public.
And so the Theater of Illusion doesn't have a magic
show this year, but it has Monster Meals. And so
Monster Meals is basically UH you can come in and
get a ticket for UH beverage on train dessert and

(35:33):
you go to these stations, then you can pick which
one you want and then enjoy the meal in nice,
warm theater of illusion while we play some really amazing
horror short movies that we produced in house, fully filmed everything.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
On these and they were some of our own actors.

Speaker 4 (35:54):
All of our own actors from the Train Ride and
some of our favorites. And not only that, but then
you'll have real monsters, our characters too, wandering through and
interacting with you. Yes, yes, so it should. It should
be a lot of fun. I think people really appreciate.
And the food in there is like really cool, like
really unique.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
Kind of food we have available or is that a yeah?

Speaker 4 (36:17):
No, I think we can talk about it. We have
like our beverage station. You can get appleside or you
can get like a hot toddy okay, and it's it's
in this really cool uh like I don't know. It's
a cup with a straw and it has like a
doll head on it with its eyes blacked out. They're
really really cool.

Speaker 1 (36:33):
I feel like the Stanley Cup Strock covers. Are they
like that?

Speaker 4 (36:37):
I don't know, I don't really know.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
I love those. I just ordered some ghost ones.

Speaker 4 (36:40):
It's they're they're good there, it's creepy. It's like a
true doll head. And then we have our entree, which
kind of goes off of our the all of them
go off theme of our videos. So the doll one
or the beverage is off of dolls, which we have
a doll movie. And then we have our cannibal movie,
which is a turkey leg.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
Can get a nice turkey leg Sarah Jery. It would
be like, seriously the best selling I'm a.

Speaker 4 (37:07):
Little too salty for me.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Yeah, look out for the Sarah Jerkey.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
Yeah, horriflick because she makes a little cameo and.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
So yeah. And then we also have spaghetti meatballs, so
that's that's the other option for the entrees, and that
is based off of our like.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
The Lindy spaghetti and meatballs.

Speaker 4 (37:32):
Probably, I don't know. I couldn't give you exactly, I'm
not And then our dessert station is our clown station,
and it's like a troll funnel cake type of thing.
T O is that what they call them? Troll pie
with ice cream? And I think maybe a little cotton candy.

Speaker 1 (37:52):
Cotton candy.

Speaker 4 (37:53):
Yeah, So okay, she sold.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
Sold, Yeah, so that's that's cool.

Speaker 4 (37:58):
But Food and Beverage has really on a lot of stuff,
and so you have, yeah, talk about it.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
Yeah, yeah, today and incomes this person. They have this
big old whoopee bye, and it's a pumpkin, you know,
all the little outside is all pumpkin, and then inside
was this nice cheesecake frosting in the inside, and then
it had sprinkles on the outside and it just looked amazing.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
So we're selling those, yes, yes, do we know where?

Speaker 4 (38:25):
Probably we everywhere. I don't know where.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
But they're kind of with like the rice Krispy trees.

Speaker 4 (38:30):
They're all like that.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
Okay, yeah, made from scratch. What five bucks? Something over
five dollars?

Speaker 2 (38:38):
Nice?

Speaker 1 (38:38):
Oh my gosh, I can't wait. I can't wait to
see them.

Speaker 4 (38:42):
So Food and Beverage has some other options too, like
blood bags.

Speaker 1 (38:47):
We now have a non alcoholic version.

Speaker 4 (38:48):
We have two non alcoholic versions, oh.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
Too, yeah, oh really, I know. There's Barbie blood and there's.

Speaker 4 (38:54):
Monster blood and monster but those are both the non alcoholics.

Speaker 1 (38:56):
Okay, so what's the normal one? Just blood bags?

Speaker 4 (38:59):
We have bampire she calls a vampire blood, and then
we have witches blood, and then we have another one
zombie blood. I think it's zombie blood. Its green. Yeah,
so we have green, purple red, and then the non
alcoholic are blue and pink. Okay, perfect because we had
so many people last year that were like, it's so
cool to drink.

Speaker 1 (39:18):
Like from people.

Speaker 4 (39:22):
So and there's a lot of kids that wanted to
do it, and so that's why.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
And we all love edible gl well, everybody in this
room especially, so yes, yes.

Speaker 4 (39:35):
And then we also have Cosmos Cantina that would be
open for scary wood specifically, which will be kind of funny.

Speaker 2 (39:40):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
I just lost my headphones. Oh okay, that's why I
couldn't hear myself. Yeah, because you have muted me.

Speaker 4 (39:46):
No, I wouldn't you ever, it's because you have a
wolf head on your.

Speaker 3 (39:50):
Head on my head, yes, so it's spirit and in
the spirit. Yes, yes, so so that's new food.

Speaker 4 (39:59):
That's new food.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
And then what's on your neck, Jordan.

Speaker 4 (40:01):
Yes, I have. This is called a fright light. So
this is new this year and really pretty much every
other theme park that we've seen does these. They go
by no Boo necklaces too terrified. Whatever it may may
sound like, it's all the same. The idea is that
people who wear this and turn it on. They'll be

(40:24):
semi immune from being jump scared. It's and our tagline
is explore the tear without the scare, and so, uh,
this is a little bit of a nuance here is
that we don't guarantee that you're not going to get scared,
because sometimes people don't see it. Inst an accident or
they scare someone else on the side, and it gets

(40:44):
you all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 1 (40:46):
People you're with or not immune it?

Speaker 4 (40:47):
You are, yes, you are. If people see it, you
are not a target of being scared, You're less likely
to be scared, is probably the best way to say it.

Speaker 1 (40:55):
And you can't wear them inside.

Speaker 4 (40:57):
You can wear them, you just have to turn them
off in the house. They're not allowed in the haunts
because they bride up on the giveaway things.

Speaker 3 (41:04):
Yeah, so you can still get scared in the hanks,
just not walking through the scare zones things like that.

Speaker 4 (41:10):
Yes, so you can see everything, watch watch your friends
get scared. That's always fun.

Speaker 3 (41:13):
And I've already had a few people reach out and
be like, thank you so much. I've always wanted to
go to Scary Wood, but I was just want to
be scared. But they want to come enjoy the festivities,
and so yeah, this will be a really cool way
for people to come see Scary for the first time
that maybe haven't seen it before.

Speaker 4 (41:29):
So yeah, and then you want to talk about your pumpkin?

Speaker 1 (41:31):
Yeah, what is this?

Speaker 2 (41:32):
It's one of our pumpkins that we get at trans World.
It's nice, moldy, roldy and disgusting. And buy lots of
pumpkins to put in there and swine freak firm and
anywhere we can put them.

Speaker 3 (41:43):
Are these what I saw piled up in the warehouse? Yes,
I was like, they looked real when I walked by. Yeah,
I thought that we had real pumpkins. But then I
saw some of them were like sliced in half and
there was no goo inside, and so I was like,
what was going on?

Speaker 2 (41:56):
We had people come up. I used to wash your
pumpkins because it.

Speaker 1 (41:59):
Looks like bold. I know, we want them to look
that way.

Speaker 4 (42:03):
They permanently look like that.

Speaker 1 (42:04):
They're amazing.

Speaker 2 (42:05):
So we'll see those figger ones and we have people
coming out of the pumpkins.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
Yeah, a little inside scoop for you right there, honestly
on the lookout. Yeah, what else, you guys, what else
do you want to talk about what what do you
see happening with Scarywood in the future.

Speaker 1 (42:20):
I mean, I will see this.

Speaker 3 (42:22):
We were we were talking at Driver Run like this swine,
bigger batter. This is you guys's first full brain child.
Like it's not a makeover, it's not an upgrade. Like
it's a full haunt that you guys have made from
scratch and it's incredible. So what's next.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
One thing we do when we do auditions we ask
them what is your fear? We want them to we
want them to introduce themselves why they're interested in Scary
Wood and what's your greatest fear? And Jordan and I
and Madison we all say what our fear is?

Speaker 4 (42:55):
What?

Speaker 1 (42:55):
Wait, so let's pause, What is your fear? I don't
like bats.

Speaker 2 (43:00):
I lived in a log home and so it has
lots of checking in it, and there's like lots of
bats that get inside there. And like my husband, say,
Ray and I dropped something in here and he would
want me to get it some tool, and out flies
a bat in my face.

Speaker 1 (43:15):
That's terrifying.

Speaker 4 (43:16):
Yeah, that is bad.

Speaker 2 (43:19):
And then I've had other experience, but I won't share
that right now. But yeah, my kids will tell you.
Growing up, we in the middle of the night there's
bats that are flying around and they get out with
their little water guns and stuff, trying to get it
down and out of my house. So I don't like bats,
that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
That's pallid Jordan. What are you afraid of? Aside from
white snakes named icy.

Speaker 4 (43:42):
Wow, my biggest phobia is earwigs.

Speaker 1 (43:49):
Oh my gosh. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (43:51):
And they're always in the bathroom and you're like in
a vulnerable position and all of a sudden you see
one on the floor and it's like, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (43:56):
I had a bad experience as a kid. Well, we
had milk delivered to our house in this little container
on the left, and I went to go like open
it and there was no milk in there, but there
was a little bug. So I was like, I'm going
to help you out. And so I go and pick
it up. Yes, I go and pick it up. And
as I'm picking up, that thing pinched me so hard
on the thumb. I'm shaking my hand and it's not

(44:17):
coming off. And so from then those things they can
stay away.

Speaker 1 (44:21):
So when are we introducing something ear wig?

Speaker 2 (44:24):
Well, we ask everybody what the greatest spirits. Yeah, and
it's amazing to hear how many people are like the
deep water, and we would love to do a haunt
that is about.

Speaker 3 (44:35):
That, and that's mine, the deep dark water, the unknown
fish that could bite my toes. I love the ocean.
I love the water. I live being on top of it,
but I can't swim. And just that idea, even sitting
on a dock, there's many interesting things.

Speaker 4 (44:50):
We can really play off all this and so really
that's kind of ye. We're always making ideas, and the
idea of this year is really we got the idea
for the Swine and how we built the swine with
these like tent structures at six Flags when we visit them.
Last year we went to six Flags and used huge

(45:10):
tent structures and so we're like, okay, we could probably
do that, and that's how we built these rooms and
these really cool intricate buildings under tent structures. And so
now we're like, okay, now, how can we expand this
into something bigger that's a whole haunt And that's kind
of a little potential what could come down the road
hopefully next day, bigger in battle, bigger and batter well.

Speaker 2 (45:32):
I might have to bring dolphins into it.

Speaker 4 (45:34):
Dolphins, Yeah, Maddie, you know, Maddie's afraid of dolphins.

Speaker 1 (45:37):
Really yeah, that's.

Speaker 4 (45:38):
My favorite, is afraid of dolphins.

Speaker 1 (45:40):
A sweet little dolphin.

Speaker 4 (45:42):
Well it's not so sweet when you're in the water
with her, I guess.

Speaker 2 (45:45):
Oh, no, part of our team and she's amazing.

Speaker 4 (45:48):
And killer dolphins, killer dolphins we transport we have seen,
like mermaidsaid.

Speaker 3 (45:57):
And we were actually just talking the other day about
the little you can do them mates through the glass.

Speaker 4 (46:02):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
So many ideas as well.

Speaker 3 (46:04):
If you listeners have any ideas things you'd like to
see as scary, would feel free to write us at
podcast at silverwiothemepark dot com.

Speaker 1 (46:15):
Send us your phobias for sure.

Speaker 3 (46:16):
Maybe we should do a little post on social we
find out what people's phobias are. What else, do you
guys want to do some inside scoop or did we
inside scoop it already?

Speaker 4 (46:25):
I think we could do a little inside school. Let's
see where are we are.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
I think we've come up with something.

Speaker 4 (46:31):
Oh, there's plenty of inside scoops. Okay, okay, do you
want me to go first or what?

Speaker 1 (46:38):
Yeah, they don't have one?

Speaker 4 (46:40):
You don't have an inside scoop at all scary. Wo wow,
this is this is really good podcast material right here.
Get me okay, inside scoop. I guess for people visiting
the park, it's not super inside, but I would say
get here as early as you can. Six o'clock is probably.

(47:04):
I would say if you're not here before six thirty,
you're late, okay, and then come early to the park
only in the month as well, so opening weekends, this
upcoming weekend, and then the closer we get to Halloween,
the busier it's going to get. We also have two
days after Halloween. Those are going to be really good.

Speaker 2 (47:22):
Days days to come.

Speaker 1 (47:23):
And we are closed on Halloween. Just to reiterate that
one more time.

Speaker 3 (47:26):
But I do have one Okay, please don't wear your costumes.

Speaker 1 (47:30):
No costumes.

Speaker 2 (47:30):
No costumes.

Speaker 3 (47:32):
I've seen this happen and it's horrible if you get
here and you're in a costume and we have to
ask you to go change and you don't have anything
to change into, so or makeup. The only yeah, no makeup.
The only people allowed to be scary are the haunters here.
So yeah, if you have a doubt as to whether
or not it is a costume.

Speaker 1 (47:53):
Leave it at home. Yeah, yeah, so it's a good one.

Speaker 2 (47:56):
You have one, Oh, a good one. If handwarmers, so
one trick that we do is to stay warm is
we put them in the inside brim of your hat.
If you're wearing a little beanie hat, stick it in
there and it warms your head and down and it's amazing.

Speaker 1 (48:14):
Yeah, you guys taught me that last year and it
really is.

Speaker 4 (48:17):
Also, if it is precipitating outside.

Speaker 2 (48:20):
Precipitating, you can do foot bags.

Speaker 4 (48:22):
Footbags is a key.

Speaker 2 (48:25):
So you stick your feet, you know, after you have
your socks, you stick your foot in a foot bag
and then put.

Speaker 4 (48:30):
Like a garbage bag or a grocery bag, plastic bag.

Speaker 2 (48:35):
And that will keep your feet dry. That's a good idea.

Speaker 4 (48:38):
Yeah, we have our haunters there. That is the way
to go.

Speaker 3 (48:41):
I could have sat on the rainy night that I
was wearing my my chucks yea as fruity pebbles.

Speaker 4 (48:45):
Yeah, no, we don't not at all.

Speaker 1 (48:49):
What did you call it?

Speaker 4 (48:50):
I said, precipitating, But.

Speaker 1 (48:51):
Precipitating because it never.

Speaker 4 (48:53):
Does that here and never it's always fun and scary.

Speaker 2 (48:56):
Yeah, And just like our haunters wear bass layers, base layers,
they'll keep you warm.

Speaker 1 (49:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (49:02):
Yeah, and Fruity Pebbles has a really cool umbrella that
hopefully she can find.

Speaker 1 (49:06):
So yeah, I pray for precipit.

Speaker 4 (49:09):
What do you call it precipitation, but you called it
something different if it's precipitating.

Speaker 1 (49:14):
Okay, I didn't even know, so we.

Speaker 4 (49:19):
Just yeah, we just wing it on here. It's a
triple scoop. Yeah, there's I mean, there's plenty more.

Speaker 3 (49:24):
Yeah, do you want to keep going or should we
just save it for next week?

Speaker 4 (49:28):
I would say Another one would be if you are
in the zombie zone, wait for the Thrillers dance because
they do a thriller dance and that's kind of fun
to watch that and then go down with like a
little flash mob thriller dance. Path path update this year,
so getting to the swine is different. Go to Aftershock,
and the after Shock line splits into two. That do

(49:49):
you go towards the left that is to chuckles, to
the right that is the swine. You can't go through
the pavilions this year. That is closed.

Speaker 3 (49:55):
Yeah, okay, I was actually going to ask you about
that because I was confused at Dry Runs so that
makes sense.

Speaker 4 (50:00):
Okay, So that's just a dead area now we use
it for breaks.

Speaker 1 (50:02):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (50:03):
Cool, And we do have a new dead Wood.

Speaker 4 (50:06):
We'd have a new scare zone. It's called Deadwood. It's
our opening intro area out there. So it's very like
you might.

Speaker 2 (50:15):
See somebody greeting you up there.

Speaker 1 (50:16):
Yeah, okay, Wendy's I love that. Wait is that what? Okay? No,
I saw it. I'm gonna keep my mouth shuts.

Speaker 3 (50:25):
It's a secret. I think I know what it is. Okay,
that's fine.

Speaker 4 (50:29):
I think that's okay. Wraps it up.

Speaker 1 (50:31):
That does, wrap it up.

Speaker 3 (50:32):
This week's news letter is going to be coming out,
so check that out for this week's contest, make sure
you sign up and uh, we'll see you in a
couple of weeks with some of our haunters.

Speaker 6 (50:41):
So fun, and that's a wrap on this week's ride.

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
