You're listening to the Right Way with David Right.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
It's Friday.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
It's Friday, and Friday feeling getting you into the mood
for the weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Yes, So, the local and the Luthan government have released
lots of money, lots of grants for the beach areas
here in Almia. A lot of the beach is going
to be upgraded and some major works going on, some
already started at the moment. Yeah, this is due to
the just before Christmas, they get this money released for
different projects. And one of the main projects that's going

(01:55):
on in Almia at the moment is a lot of roadworks.
You'll probably seeing this if you're coming in or out
of city area. There's loads of major works going on.
There's fifteen million euros being granted to al Moria for
upgrades on motorways and infrastructure on the roads, making them
better and safer. Hitting almriam Now. I was in Amora
the other day and there is quite a lot of

(02:17):
major roadworks going on. Some of the overpasses in elm
Maria city are going to be closed over the next
few weeks. There's some major work's going on there. And
if you come in too Elmri on the motorway or
going past Elmri on the motorway there up and down
towards Malago sort of thing. There's loads of roadworks. There's
contraflows in place at the moment and their works are

(02:38):
been going on for a little while and that's continuing
on into the new year as well. So be prepared
for that. There could be some delays at peak period times,
but yeah, it's all good. It's going to be lots
of upgrades and it's looking good for elm Maria. Also,
the trains still no trains running in or out of
Elmria until twenty twenty six, so it's another year and

(02:59):
a half or so. This is due to because of
this new train system that's been put in, the new links.
They're building a brand new, a very big, brand new
rail station in al Maria City and there's all this
work's going on. You've probably seen it if you're driving
anywhere near the Amria area or probably up where you are.
There's some flyovers and new train lines going in. I

(03:22):
actually saw the other day on the television's pro projected
trains that they're thinking of putting in or they're planning
to put in. Some of them are double deckers, have
got shops on everything. So it looks in really good
for people in and around at the Almira area at
the moment. Fleetwood, Mac There and Dreams.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Live David Right, David Right, David David David.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
The Afternoon Show. So it looks like Spain is going
to be starting this new money bank scheme for plastic
bottle starting in the new year. So in twenty twenty six,
Spain have agreed that they will start this returns system
in some shops, supermarkets and some vending machines to return
plastic bottles. You will be able to get some money back,

(04:07):
all part of the recycling process that Spain's on board
with here. So are looking forward to seeing that in
the new year.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
It's Friday, It's Friday, and that Friday feeling getting you
into the mood for the weekend.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Yeah, there were forecasters looking good for the weekend. There
are twenty two to twenty three degrees here today and
a little bit warmer tomorrow, so yes, looking good for
the weekend. And the weather forecasters on the TV last
night was saying that there's some exceptionally warm weather due
in over the next couple of weeks here in alm Moria.
So looking forward to that.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
So a couple of years ago I did an interview
with the Honorary British Consulate of alm Moria here and
it was telling me about these new amendments or some
amendments that Spain had been making or trying to make
two different visas rules and regulations. Now this isn't really
a rule change, it's sort of more bending them really
some amendments that Spain and local areas here are making.

(05:05):
And one of those amendments is that on the nonlimited visa,
which you cannot work on for twelve months, they've made
an amendment to that and you can now apply to
change that visa and be able to start working here.
And I interviewed somebody on my show yesterday and after
this we're going to have a listen to that and
you're going to see exactly what he did and how

(05:26):
you two can start getting these amendments to these visas.
The Home.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
One seven time lay tune in now and join the play.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Okay, So today on my show, I've got a very
special guest. I've got Andy Cook. And now Andy has
gone through an amendment change to his visa here, something
I've talked about on my shows a long time ago
and done videos with some top experts on this. But
Andy's actually done it. He's gone through this amendment change
and he has now got a visa where he can

(06:06):
work here in Spain and on my show today and
he's going to tell us all about it. Hi, Andy,
and welcome to the show.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Hi David. Yeah, cheers, thanks for having me on the
right way.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
So, Andy, tell us a little bit about your background.
When did you first move to Spain.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
Well, David, we moved to Spain about twelve months ago.
It was after we'd made all applications through the UK
and then we decided to go for the autonomo visa,
the amendment to the visa, so we went to Salvador

(06:43):
and his team and they've sorted that out for us.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
So originally then you've got the non lucrative visa, Andy,
is that correct?

Speaker 4 (06:51):
Yeah, that's correct. We got the non luk at di
visa to start with.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
So Andy, you can't work on that non looktive visa
for the first twelve months, that's correct, right, Yes.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
You can't work for the first twelve months on the
non luca divisa. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Now, Andy, you've gone through some of my experts I
recommended to you, and you've asked them to do this
amendment to your visa. There's a time limit on this
at the moment, isn't it? And I think there's been
some new changes. But tell us about your time limits
on that.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Yeah, that's correct, David. After your eleven month period or
thirty days before your first year ends, you can make
an amendment, which we have done. And yeah, it's great,
we are successful.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Yeah, and I just got to say Andy that after
the very recent changes last week, the amendment of that visa,
you can now apply for these changes, these amendments sixty
days before the expiry date on your visa, and a
lot of it under these new rules and regulations can
be done digitally now, so that should help spe things

(07:57):
up for British people. So yours is all finalized now,
and then you've actually got the approval. When when did
you actually get the final approval and go ahead on this?

Speaker 4 (08:06):
We had the approval this week. We actually contacted Salvage
and we spoke to them quickly regarding what was happening.
They said, well, just hold back, there's going to be
some news. And then the following morning, at eight o'clock
in the morning, I had an email that we'd had
confirmation and authorization to work in Spain starting from that date.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
This is great news. Andy, I'm really pleased for you.
I've been watching your journey over the years and I
hope that some of my help and advisor has been
a benefit to you, David.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Yeah, we did use your advice on the experts and
we went to Salvador Legal team and they've been absolutely brilliant,
not only the Autonomoy application but also our driving licenses, etc.
It's just been we provided the information and they did

(09:03):
what they said they were going to do, and they
submitted it and we've got the clearance for working in Spain.
We love it. It's great.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Yeah, I appreciate that. And I always say, you know,
I've got a lot of experts here. These are people
that I know and trust myself and have built up
a relationship over my years here, and I'll recommend them
to my followers and listeners and you can have a
free consultation with them. You can get cheaper, obviously, you
can do your own route, but it's always best to
get a good recommendation and it's worth paying people that

(09:34):
are doing this professionally for a living and do it
right the first time. Plus you're now free to start
working this straight away. And is that right?

Speaker 4 (09:42):
Yes, yeah, we are. I mean to be honest with David,
I wouldn't even consider doing the application myself because it's
an absolute mindfield and having somebody that knows what they're
doing in their own country and they know how the
system works. You've got to have the right people to
do the job.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
Yeah, that's so true. Okay, and we'll be back with
Andy right after this.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
David Right, David Right, David, David, David the Afternoon Show.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
Okay, So on the show today, we're talking to Andy Cook,
who has been through this amendment to his non luxive visa.
He's now got his work in visa here in Spain.
He's autonomo and he's ready to start working now. I
had somebody on the show a little while ago, some
comments on one of my shows about you know, they
paid somebody's paid someone to come help them with their padron. Here.

(10:39):
This is a person that's moved to Spain fairly recently,
and you know, some people criticized about that. You don't
need anyone to help you with the padron, which is true,
you don't. You can do it yourself here. I've done
it several times here over my years here when I've moved,
which has been many times now. But you know, I
always say, if you're moving here to Spain and you're
fairly new here and your Spanish is basic. Pay somebody

(11:00):
to help you. Pay somebody to get it right the
first time. It is so important to get these important
pieces of paper, and some of them really are important
to your stay here. Driving licenses, padron and I numbers,
things like that. Get this done right the first time round.
Little mistakes down the line that you might make can
really interrupt things here for you, make it expensive and

(11:22):
difficult in the long run. So pay somebody that's doing
it every day here and get it done the right way.
You know, get it done the right way is not
just a pun, is right. You've got to get these
things done if they're important to you, get them done
correctly first time round. And sometimes you do need to
pay professional and I highly recommend that you do when
you're first moving here to Spain. So Andy, tell us

(11:43):
about this new business you're doing.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
So, yeah, we were going to be working primarily on
residential properties with airless spring So we spray it interior
or exterior homes, whether it be polyurethane on the doors,
painting the interiors or you know, exter your garage doors,

(12:07):
et cetera, all with the airless spraying to give an
excellent finish. And this is the service that we want
to provide here in the local area.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Sounds great, Andy. And one thing you can go wrong
with painting houses out here, and especially with the method
you're going to be using, quick and fast and good results.
Not much difficulty choosing the colors. I don't think is
pretty much much of the houses here are white at
the moment in the right Andy, are you finding it?

Speaker 4 (12:35):
Yeah? It is, it is. It's generally white out here. Yeah,
it's funny. We just priced up our first job today
and we're putting a price in for it, so we're
really looking forward to getting going.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
That's great news, Andy. Is he an English or Spanish client?

Speaker 4 (12:52):
That's for an English client. He did live quite close
to us, but due to health issues, they've moved closer
into town. So they've had house completely referred and they
want us to come and finish off the doors internally
with like a satin slatin polyurethane inside, nice soft finish
and then white on the outside.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Stay tuned in more from Andy after this Today on
my show, I've got Andy Kirk. We've been talking about
his amendment to his visa and his new business. So Andy,
last time I spoke to you are you looking for
a new vent. How's that going?

Speaker 4 (13:27):
Yeah, we are. We found a van. We've put a
deposit on it. We're just waiting for the autonomous number.
Everything gets facture with your factory. The number needs to
be on there so you can claim the vat back
on the van. So yeah, we're just waiting for that number.
It should be the next two three days.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
So, Andy, what's the name of this new business? Have
you got a name for it?

Speaker 4 (13:52):
It is? It's Soul Spray.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Soul Spray. That's great and a good name, and it's funny.
I was talking to my wife the other day. We've
been following your journey a long time now, it's been
a few years, and I remember when you came to
my house. It's been to my house a few times,
but a long time ago you came to a party
at my house and you said, I wish I could
live in Spine. One day. I would like to come
and live in Spying and work in Spine. Do you

(14:16):
remember that long time ago? Andy? And I said you
would do it. Just follow the advice. You'll get there
one day, you'll do it. And now you're doing it.
Do you remember that conversation? Andy?

Speaker 4 (14:24):
I do. I do remember those days. In fact, we
were just talking about it this afternoon. It was quite
funny really because we six years ago we were looking
about areas and then you know, three years ago nearly
four now, we bought the house and then managed to
make it over. It just over a year ago, and
now we were ready to work and just get a

(14:46):
van sorted out, get it. Bulley kitched out with all
my kits and we are good to go.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Yeah, it's great. I'm really pleased for it. Andy. And
when the weather's luck it is today. I mean it's
end of November and we got twenty three degrees here
today and it's amazing where. They're great for working here
in Spain, and pretty nice all over Spain. It's pretty
nice where you are presumer as well.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we were in Mahaka today and it
was twenty five degrees on the player. It was amazing.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Yeah. I got to say, I had a message from
my sister in the UK. She's in Brighton, where I'm
originally from, and minus one and snow there yesterday. It's
so a bit of a different world here in Spain.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Yeah. Yeah, Well this year is not as but not
as good as it was last year, because last year
we were like twenty seven twenty eight degrees when we
first arrived in October and we were like, this is
fantastic October.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Wow, well brilliant news, Andy. So yeah, as a lot
of people, I've told people about this before, Spain can't
change the rules here because of the European Union and
stuff like that. They're governed by Belgium basically making the rules.
But Spain are making amendments to these rules and regulations.
They're bending over backwards to make slight changes and bending

(16:07):
the rules as much as they can. So there are
solutions and you've proved that. Now You've gone from getting
your visa not being able to work to be able
to work and sit up your own businesses. So I'm
really pleased for Andy. I'm looking forward to see how
things go for you in the near future. So thanks
very much Andy for being on the show today.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
Yeah, thanks a lot, David, So thanks to you as
well for the advice that you gave us, and thanks
to the Alejandra and his team. They must do it
in twelve weeks for us. Yeah, we're just happy about it.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
Yeah, great, So celebrations all round. Tonight then Andy, and
if anyone wants a free quote from Andy and more information,
I leave a link in the description box and contact
details for Andy and get a free quote from Andy. Okay,
So thank you very much for that, Andy, and thanks
for joining us on the Right Way this afternoon.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
Thanks David. Good day.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
It's Friday. It's Friday, and that Friday feeling gets you
into the mood for the weekend.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
Yeah, you're listening to the Right Way with me, David
right here on am Maria Radio A one oh seven
point five FM. It's Friday, it's almost a weekend, and
remember today is a Black Friday. There's some discounts on
olive oil at the moment in most supermarkets. Save slashed
the prices of olive oil and it's around five ninety

(17:30):
nine elita at the moment. That still sounds blooming expensive
to me, but there you go. Yeah, this all due
to the price increases. They reckon it was because of
the lack of water earlier this year. I don't think
there'll be that problem next year, but they go. A
lot of the farmers are complaining saying that this is
mostly due to the supermarkets hyping up the prices. Of

(17:51):
olive oil. But yeah, today at the moment you can
go and get some olive oil extra virgin olive oil
for five ninety nine alita in most supermarkets, so worth
checking it out. That's five o'clock Hit Mix with Rob
Max straight after my show today. And if you want
any help and advice from the top experts, remember we've

(18:11):
got a free consultation page where you can get advice
and help from top experts. These are financial advisors, visa experts,
tax experts and also health experts here in Spain. And
it is a free consultation to any of my listeners
or followers. All you need to do is go over
to my page. That's the right way with me David

(18:33):
Wright on the here on the ELMRIA radio. Just on
the clickdown menu on the website. You'll see it there.
Click down the menu and it drops down and there's
my page there. On that page, there's a link called
the information page. Click on that and there's all the
experts there. I've done videos with these experts is where
so you can see exactly who they are and what
help and advice you will get from them. Mark Anthony

(18:58):
there viavia MeV.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Join me Nikky Noodles every Sunday for a Dolly mixture
of music and fun to wake you up before you
go go. You can even play along, I guess the
theme of the show every Sunday morning at ten am.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Well, that's it for me for another show. Thanks very
much everybody for joining me in a comments section. I
hope you have a great weekend and good news. Andy.
I'm glad you got your work today, first day here
in Spain and working already. That's really good. First day
at work in spin I should say. I'm really pleased
for your Andy, and many more days of income coming

(19:38):
for you. I'm sure. I'm sure have a great weekend.
Thanks very much for listening, and Dave work Son off. Yeah.
