The comment section has rebooted, so come and say hi,
Come and keep me company this afternoon. Okay, did you
see that the that TV series Benidorm looks like it's
coming back. The ITV are in talks with some of
the stars and guests on that and they're going to
be reviving the series Benidorm. Well that was It was
quite a good series I must have made.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
I did enjoy it.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
And I think if you've been living here in spainful
little while, you can relate to some of those characters,
or at least you know somebody that could have played
the part that's in that series. So yeah, Bennidorm, the
TV series could be coming back here in al Maria soon.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Seven time.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
Tune in now and joining the plane.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
You're listening to the right way with me, David right
here on Almora Radio or one oh seven point five FM.
Very windy out there today here in Almia, and I'm
right near the airport here, Almria mainor Airport, just about
five minutes away, and I've been watching some of the
planes come in this morning and they've been going around
in a couple of times. I think they're having a
bit of difficulty landing with a very very strong winds here.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
At the moment.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
And yeah, when that get that strong wind coming in
from certain directions, occasionally they get diverted down to Malaga.
So hopefully if you've got anyone coming in today, they
won't be delayed or pushed down to Malaga. But it
does happen here quite a lot when it's very strong winds.
And talking about flights, easy to have started this week
(03:02):
with their new Leeds Bradford service and flights start from
just twenty three euros. That's amazing price in it twenty
three euros.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
The afternoon show.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
Live David Right, David Right, David, David David.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
The afternoon show was Michael Boobly there and feeling good well.
I saw in the this week the BBC Radio have
restricted and access to some of their programs, their radio
programs for Spanish listeners. So yeah, the Bridge normally like
to listen into some of the BBC's service shows and
publications on the BBC Radio and they've upset quite a
(03:43):
few people with that, reducing the signal I believe, so
that it's harder or making it harder to get access
to listening to these programs here in Spain. So you
know what to do, Just go over to ELM time
for another top tip from experts. Okay, so it's Friday,
it's time for top tip from air financial expert Josh Williams. Hi, Josh,
can you hear me?
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Okay, good afternoon, David. How are you good?
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Good? Thanks for coming on the show again, Josh.
Speaker 6 (04:10):
Thanks for having me on the show again. It's good
to be back.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
So some news about Trump's started to blow his trumpet
again and this could affect the market's Josh, So, what
are your recommendations on this latest news from Trump and
the restrictions he's putting on the UK at the moment.
Speaker 6 (04:29):
Yeah, Today, I just want to discuss why it's maybe
not advisable to listen to the noise, listen to the
hype in the media, and potentially worry about what Donald
Trump may or may not be doing, especially from an
an investment point of view. So, as we know, on
(04:53):
April the second, Donald Trump stood at the podium and
declared what he called Liberation Day. The he introduced sweeping
new tariffs, trade tariffs on impulse into the US, a
ten percent tariff across the board, thirty four percent on
goods from China, thirty two on Taiwan, twenty percent on
(05:14):
the EU markets didn't love it. The US market tumbled,
gold hit a record high, and safe haven assets and
investors went into fall on retraction mode. But here's the thing,
and it's important to remember, We've seen it before. In
twenty eighteen, during Trump's first term, we saw the same
(05:35):
thing potential trade war market drops. But what happened. Businesses adapted,
trade shifted, and the markets recovered and went on to
new heights. Go further back to the thirties or even
Reagan in the eighties, and the same pattern repeats. Markets wobble,
investors panic, but the world moves on. So how should
(05:57):
you respond to these new tariffs in twenty twenty five?
It all comes down to which kind of investor you
want to be. Do you want to be a bad
investor and panic and sell at the worst moment, or
do you want to be a good investor and stay calm,
or do you want to be a great investor and
look for opportunity. We are focused on the third category,
(06:18):
helping clients spot opportunities when others are distracted by the
market noise, because temporary market dips, even ones caused by
global trade drama, can open doors. Take Apple, for example,
if it dips because of tariff headlines, but its fundamentals
are still rock solid. That's not a red flag. Doesn't
(06:40):
mean that it's going to be worth less in a
few years time. They'll adapt, they'll focus, they'll reshift. That's
a potential buying moment. This isn't about reacting, it's about
responding strategically. Trump's tariffs may dominate headlines today, the history
tells us this won't define your financial future unless you
(07:02):
let it, so don't get caught up in the noise.
Stay calm, stay invested. Most importantly, stay smart, and remember,
bad investors panic, Good investors do nothing. Great investors make
the most of the moment.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
So, Josh, with these tariffs and restrictions from Trump that
could affect the UK savings and investments, what should listeners do?
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Josh?
Speaker 6 (07:27):
If you want to talk about how this could impact
your portfolio or where opportunity might be hiding, get in
contact with us at Ambient Wealth today.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Thanks again for that, Josh, great tips and advice from
you there, and thanks very much for the information today.
Speaker 6 (07:44):
Thanks very much, David. Great to be on look forward
to speaking again soon. Have a great weekend and yeah,
take care from us here at ambience and myself Josh Williams.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Thanks Josh, have a great weekend, mate, cheers. That was
Josh Williams there, and yeah, I was going to ask
him another question, but today he's got to shoot off
quite quickly. But also I see this week there's some
tax cuts. Spain are bringing in some introductory reductions in
some taxes for British people living in Spain. This includes
(08:19):
certain deductions on the housing, education and relocation tax cuts.
So again you could ask Josh about that. His details
are in the comments section.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Now join us on the twenty.
Speaker 2 (08:32):

runs from the ninth to the eleventh, that's Friday, Saturday Sunday,
not to eleventh of May. The next one after that

your customers. So she's got through the links and she
got the free tickets as well. Blue for some.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
David Wright, David Wright, David David, David The Afternoon Show.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Okay, so a little bit of news for it.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
If you've got a funeral plan with Iberian Funeral Planning company,
they've sort of gone undergone broke or just not responding
to people here in Spain. So yeah, a lot of
people have lost a lot of money with his company.
This is Iberian Funeral plan and Salvador Tax and Legal,
the sponsors of my show, are putting them together a
legal action with several other customers have lost money with
(14:18):
his company. So if you've had any problems with Iberian
Funeral Plans, then give me a ring, give me a bell,
contact me here on al Maria Radio. This is David
at Almaria Radio Dot Live, and or go to straight
to Salvador Tax and Legal and tell them your information.
They're putting together a legal action against that company, so
(14:40):
maybe they might be to do something for him.
Speaker 5 (14:44):
Live.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
David Right, David Right, David David David The Afternoon Show.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Well, so it looks like Spain might be getting a
new speed limit on a motorways. How about doing one
hundred and fifty kilometers an hour on the speed limit
road on the motorway. Now, yeah, this is not an
April fool's joke. Spain has started trials in some motorways,
on some motorways in different parts of Spain up in
the north of Spain. At the moment, they've got it
up on trial there. Artificial intelligence is monitoring the conditions
(15:14):
of the roads to allow drivers to do from one
hundred and twenty to kilometers an hour, which is the
limit at the moment, to one hundred and fifty kilometers
an hour.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
So if these trials go ahead.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
At the moment, they're saying that it could be safer
for drivers to drive at this speed in certain conditions.
So they're putting these trials together and it's already started.
One hundred and fifty kilometers an hour or motorways could
be a thing of the future. What do you reckon
on that one time for Artists of the Week now
artist of the week this week, and that was in
(15:46):
Rickie Inglesses and that was by Lamos. Yeah, Silvia says
people on the motorway are already driving too fast.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
That's true. See what they do.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
I was out early the other day to go into
up to Earlihido. It's about twenty kilometers from here on
the motorbike, and I'm normally a pretty good guy. I
was doing one hundred and twenty the limit and it
was early in the morning. It's only about eight o'clock.
If I stayed in the morning. There wasn't much traffic
around on the motorway. Really, it was just before the
rush hour, and I couldn't believe it. Everybody was passing me.
(16:14):
I was doing one hundred. I had to keep looking
down at a speeder one hundred and twenty and they
were all flying past me. So yeah, I think people
are doing that one hundred and fifty already at some
places on the Montipate on motorway.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
But there you go.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
New one hundred and fifty mile an hour. One hundred
and fifty kilometers an hour speed limit possibly will be
a thing of the future here in alm Moria, so
we'll say, but it's already on trails up in the
north of Spain. I think the several areas are trying
is they're trying it as well in some parts of
Portugal as well, so they say it's safer to drive
at that speed on certain conditions, but we're saying.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
So yeah, there's going to be a lot going on
next week, and a lot of the buildings and offices
in alm Moria will be closed or half hour closed
special hours starting on Monday. Some of the mains of
the government offices and banks will be closed early. They
will be opening later in the morning as well. This
(17:11):
is because it's Samana Santa, the Holy Week starting next week,
all leading up to Easter Sunday on the twentieth of April.
So there'll be processions throughout the villages and towns all
over Spain this next coming week, so you be aware
of that. Lots of the roads are getting blocked off
at the moment in our Moria area, and lots of
the villages are getting prepared for Samana Santa Holy Fiesta
(17:36):
all of next week leading up to next Sunday, so
watch out for that. I get asked pretty much every
week now on my sites, and this is people paying
buying property here in Spain and the state agent's trying
to make them pay of fees to this date. Agents,
this is when you're buying a property. Now, you don't
(17:57):
when you buy a property. You don't pay state agent fees.
It's the seller that pays. The seller pays the fees.
Now in Spain that some of these agents are starting
to ask people to pay half the money or some
of the money towards the fees of buying a property.
They can ask what they like and you can pay
what you like, but you don't have to. There's been
(18:18):
some some rulings on this. Some people have been taking
the court about it and they've passed this law where
the seller doesn't pay the sorry, the buyer doesn't pay
the fees. It's all down to the seller, so just
be aware of that. And also with deposits as well.
It is a law in Spain that you pay one
month deposit upfront and one month one month deposit and
(18:41):
one month rent. That is upfront. So if it's a
commercial building, a commercial property, they can ask for two
months upfront and two months deposit. But you know, if
they say to you where you want to pay three
months deposit, it's between you and then. But you only
have to pay one month deposit when you're renting. But
(19:01):
just be aware of that. Some agents are trying to
push British people to pay more than they really need to.
So if you're unsure about these, then go over to
Expert help page.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
We've got lots of experts.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
There can give you help and free consultations on all
of these things that you might need help with here
in Spain, paperwork, visas, you name it. We've got experts
to help you on that, and that is over on
the information page. That's David Wright online dot com information page,
or go and check out my page here on our
MAA Radio website
