Speaker 3 (04:51):
Okay, so I got one of my sponsors on the show.
Now we've got Josh Williams.
Speaker 6 (04:55):
Hi.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Just can you hear me any well?
Speaker 5 (04:57):
David, thanks for having me on.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
Hi, Josh, nice to have you on. Josh. And now Josh.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
The topic today's work in Spain, finding work in Spain
and setting up here, jobs and stuff. Now you've brought
your business over from the UK or did you start
it up here originally? Can you just give us a
bit of background about that.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Josh.
Speaker 5 (05:15):
Yeah, so I didn't bring my business over from the
UK and I set it up here in Spain as
an sl SL company, which typically it is fairly straightforward
and setting up there are some incentives that we were
cutting off here, David, for setting up a new business.
(05:37):
There was. I think it's still in place, a reduction
in price in terms of what you need to set
up with before it was pre Rose believe it's now zero.
It's always advisable to have a liabit in the in
the Spanish business account if you're setting up, and then
the tax rates are quite beneficial for the first couple
(05:58):
of years. But straightforward has today is very used to
these processes. As long as you've got an n I
number and your activity is registered appropriately, then it's ready
to be straightforward.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Yeah, there's lots of incentives in the last twelve months
or so for people. There's some tax breaks which I'm
going to be talking about later on.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
In the show.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Also, as you've mentioned there, for self employed people, there's
special incentives and lower rates for the first two years
when they're here. Something I always to say to people
as well, and now a lot of people say, you know,
they're self employed, it's too expensive and all that, and
it is pretty expensive. It's around three hundred euros a year,
you know, when you've been here for a few years.
But what people don't realize when they start this up
(06:42):
is there are some reduced rates. It starts off around
eighty euros a month when you first start if you
haven't been self employed before. Also, you get access to
the pension system. After you've been paying into it, I
think it's fifteen or twenty years and now you have
to be paying into that, you get access to that.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
And also you get.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Free medical for you and any member in your family
that lives with you in your house, so you know,
if it's a husband and wife and two kids, that's
quite a big bonus. Really get full medical cover, don't
you have?
Speaker 5 (07:10):
Yeah, for sure, it really is. I mean on my side,
it really comes in handy. And we had a sort
of health scare in the family and that really came
into effect, especially if you know you're paying your social securities.
You mentioned three hundred three hundred a month, but it
can vary sort of according to income. As you mentioned,
(07:31):
you get a pension, you have your medical care covered.
If you were to become ill and you can't can't work,
quite a high percentage of your average salary of the
previous year or your average income of the previous year
is covered by the state or social security, so that
can give some assurance. And you know, the people in
(07:53):
the UK would pay an additional critical illness covers all
that and it's covered here automatically in Spain as a
part of those social security costs and autonomotive costs.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Yeah, there are there, There are some incentives and some
new schemes out at the moment as well, which is
helping people to set up This is targetsing British people
here to help them make it easier. They've streamedlined a
lot of the paperwork as well. So I've gon talk
about that a little bit later on the show. But so, Josh,
what is exactly you just to recap for their listeners?
Speaker 5 (08:23):
Yes, so many many listeners will know about myself. I
mean on the show most of the year every Friday.
Wealth management and financial advice, So Ambient's Wealth give us
the search online. We provide free consultations to do listeners
David to understand or discover how we can potentially help
residents here in Spain or people thinking about moving to
(08:45):
Spain with their assets. So investments, pensions, retirement plans, it's
state and inheritance tax planning. We help sort of look
at what individuals have with their assets and family needs
and then how to reduce taxation. We work alongside accountants
and an estidys with benefit products. So yeah, that's us
(09:09):
in a nutshell.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
And Josh from my listeners on our Maria Radio you
give a free consultation, is that right correct?
Speaker 6 (09:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (09:17):
So I've helped a few of your of your listeners
to date, and the listeners have varied between being here
for ten fifteen years and being just thinking about moving
over to Spain and just want to understand what the
liabilities may be, how things work. Is it sort of
financially efficient to move over tenant? It is so get
(09:41):
free consultation. People have their contact details on your sites
which just give ambient well for search brilliant.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
Thanks very much for that, Josh, Thanks for joining us, Josh.
I leave a comment and a link to Josh's business
in the comment section now. Thanks very much, Josh, and
have a great weekend lovely.
Speaker 5 (09:56):
Likewise, David, take care, have a good week.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
Okay, little let's conversation now and talking about a little
less conversation. Yeah, So as we're talking to Josh, there
there are some implemented new reforms to the tax and
incentives to help encourage British people move into Spain and
set upper business here in Spain. There's streamline some of
(10:20):
the processes for setting up a business here, and self
employed registration is supposed to be much easier now you
can register online as well. There is new business help
and support offices and these are online as well here
in Spain, and much of the red tape to start
up a business here in Spain has been removed or
made a lot easier. So all these new incentives are
(10:41):
targeted especially to help British people moving over here and
to set up and work here in Spain. There is
a reduction in the tax rates for British self employed
as well for the first two years. As I spoke
to Josh about that, we did briefly talk about that,
but so yeah, so that there's some tax incentives for
the first two year pain reduced amount. Also there's reductions
for investments and hiring enough staff. And also I've also
(11:05):
heard that if you're self employed here and you take
a course, so you're any type of course to help
with your business, then that you can get up to
eighty percent of that money back for that course for example,
including having Spanish lessons that is helping your business here
in Spain, so you can claim up to eighty percent
of that bank These are all new incentives to help
(11:26):
British businesses here in Spain, and there's quite a lot
of them as well. We've touched on a few of
them today. If you want to find out more about that,
then I've got a help page where I've got top
experts that can give you free consultations on all these
incentives and schemes to help set up a business here
in Spain if you're listening to the right way with
me David right here on our Maria Radio a one
(11:48):
oh seven point five FM, talking about work and setting
up business here in Spain today with some of these
incentives and schemes that are available for British people. And
I've got another one of my sponsors on the show.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Can you hear me?
Speaker 6 (12:01):
I can hear David?
Speaker 4 (12:02):
Go from you?
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Paul Burr is from in Valid Transport story. So Paul,
how long have you been in Spine?
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Now?
Speaker 3 (12:08):
Been here?
Speaker 1 (12:08):
What? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (12:10):
I've actually I've actually been here for ten years. But
Mick Cox, who is the proprietary of the business, he's
been he was in Spain. He now moved back to
the UK last year, but he was in Spain since
nineteen ninety eight.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Nice. Yeah, So Paul did the business? Sorry?
Speaker 3 (12:27):
Did the business set up here? Was it started originally
in the UK?
Speaker 2 (12:31):
How did that work?
Speaker 4 (12:32):
No? No, no, it was started here. I started in
twenty twelve Mick. Mick had the arrival of a grandchild
obviously needed to get backwards and forwards to the UK,
so in Diaload Transport was born. He started off as
a automomo three into euros a month. As I'm sure
(12:53):
many people know, the autonomo's not cheap, but then then
again it's it's a necessity. So that's where it started,
and then it went into a an sl and a
limited company in the UK on the Blexit agreement. Yeah,
we need we needed to split the business out because
we needed to be able to do customs, controls and management.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
Well, I just I did mention earlier when I was
talking to Josh about this. You know, there's self employed
you know, is around three hundred euros a month. It
is fairly expensive, but as you say, it's a necessity,
but there are a lot of benefits with that as well,
you know, like the health cover for you and your
family that live with you in your house, you know,
if you've got a few kids, and that's quite a
big difference. I was talking to somebody the other day
(13:38):
that moved here and they've had to pay almost one
thousand euros each to move over with the visa for
their health cover insurance. So you know, if you're self employed,
that is all included in that as long as one
of you pays it, and there are some reduced to
payments at the moment for self employed people for the
first two years. And also it starts off around eighty
euros a month going up depending on your age. Of course,
(14:00):
if it's if you're old boys like me and you,
then you have to play the full right unfortunately.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
Oh, speak for yourself, speak for yourself more importantly, David,
the health, the health thing is crucial. It's critical, and
the Spanish health service is fantastic in my opinions. Also,
you've got the benefit because you're contributing. You're contributing into
the Spanish system.
Speaker 6 (14:22):
To get a pen as well.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (14:24):
Yeah, you can quite find for those years. I mean,
I'm no financial expert, but I do know the basic
Spanish pension is far better than the basic British state pension.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
Yeah, and I've changed it last year. It's not fifteen years. No,
you have to be panning to it for twenty years unfortunately,
but there you go. That's pensions for you all down
the line. But yeah, and as you say earlier, the
benefits of the health is very good here as as
most of the listeners name. My wife broke last Christmas,
not you know, a year ago now, it was over
a year ago. She broke her hip and had to
(14:57):
have major hip surgery and that was quite a serious operation.
And they're all covered for the health cover here and
excellent service all the way and the aftercare as well.
We've had lots of aftercare and that's been amazing. So yeah,
you can't can't fault the system here. So Paul, your
your transport business, tell us exactly where where is it
you're based at the moment.
Speaker 4 (15:18):
We're basically we're based in Palomars here in Spain, and
then we've got warehousing in Gospel in the UK and
we moved between the two. We've we've got storage facilities
all over Europe that we have access to, so we
can we can move people anywhere at any time.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
Great, great and free free quotes to any of the listeners,

Speaker 3 (16:42):
Okay, I appreciate that. Thanks so much for joining us today, Paul,
and I think I've got one of your favorite songs
coming up next. I'll put that on for you. Thanks
for Johnny Kelly speak Laers. Okay, you're listening to the
right way with me, David right here on our radio
or one O seven point five FM. I got a
(17:03):
Lorri coming, a tanker coming tomorrow. A film I pulled
up fifty thousand liters of water it takes. And yeah,
got a good price for it, two hundred and sixty euros.
I thought that was quite good. Last year plaid three hundred,
so I'm pleased with that. Not last year, it was
a couple of years ago now, so yeah, I don't
do it every year, but it needed doing this year
because I had a couple of little tolls to repair
(17:25):
and needles to drain it out. And so yeah, we
got the pool ready and.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Then's coming tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
And then my neighbor. This is a little bit of
a tip for him. My neighbor filled his pull up
last year, and he did it with the hose pipe
from the house, just filled it up. Took him all
day and all night and fill it up. And his
support is about the same size as his mind. And
he thought it was going to be quite reasonable price.
It wasn't expensive anyway. A couple of months later I
spoke to him and he had a bill for his
(17:51):
water bill was eight hundred euros. So yeah, when you
get to a certain amount of water, the meter does
go through the roof. There's a bit different tariff. And yes,
eight hundred euros to fill his pull up and I've
been quoted to fill mine up tomorrow. I have two
hundred and sixty euros, so remember that if you're thinking
about filling your pull up.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
Here in Spain.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
It was cloudy out there this afternoon, A little bit of
cloud that seemed to blowing away now and I can
see clearly. Well, that's just about it for another show
from me. Up next, it's a five o'clock hit mix
with Rob Mack. I'm going to leave you with my
favorite all time song now
