Speaker 1 (00:14):
Yo, what's happening in everybody? Week six? Nearly in the books,
it's too much fantasy football, it's Brian, it's Brittan. And
here we are halftime of the Sunday night game to
break down what we just had to go through. And
it was hard, it was rough. I almost didn't make
it up here. It was it's been it's been a day, man.
How you how are you making through?

Speaker 2 (00:35):
I'm okay.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
I think I was so glad that, like my kid
woke me up at six am because I got the
news that Bam Night was gonna be the starting running back.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
So I just went ham on.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Waiver wires, just picking him up and starting him because
I was starting like Olie Gordon in some leagues. So
I was just like, all right, he's starting running back.
I want to take my chances. And uh it did
better than what I would be starting on.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
The other side, so but still not quite what you
expected there did not actually start the game. It was
so weird.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Yeah, it was really weird.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
I honestly I was about to lose my shit because
I was like, why is Michael Carter out there? I
was told this is it was Bam Knight's starting role,
and then it took.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Him a little bit to go back out there and
he did. Okay, twelve points. I'll take that, Yeah, I
mean Bam Knight. He finished the day with thirteen opportunities.
Michael Carter finished the day with fourteen opportunities. So it's
backup running backs. As we've kind of talked about with
a few of these teams, it really doesn't matter which one.
In some cases, sometimes you just looking at a game script.
Sometimes you just looking for pain, and in some cases

(01:37):
that's what we found. That's what we found, including a
handful of players that found some pain. There were some
injuries this week. It's a little worse than last week.
Let's start with Marvin Harrison junior.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Concussion. He just banged his head after a catch. I
think he'll miss next week and then that's gonna be that.
So no Marv next week.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
He was on his way to a career day like
this might have been his best day. He might have
put up one hundred and fifty two hundred yards. Jacoby
Brissette was cooking better than Kyleer Murray.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Ever, has the cults like for whatever reason, like my fandom,
they let backup quarterbacks just turn into like the second
Coming of Christ.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Every single time. I can't. There's no real explanation.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
We also are starting like the six and seven string dB.
Like our starting quarterback today decided to eat in a
shoulder during pregames, so that was cool.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Yeah, if you haven't seen that video, he just absolutely
obliterated knocked out, like legitimately knocked out their concussion. Now,
second one in six weeks. It's not looking great for
cool secondary two weeks. So Marvin Harrison, good chance he
misses next week with way concussions of moving. Maybe he'll
be back, but time will tell. With keep an eye
on that, folks. This one hurts. This one knocks down

(02:49):
some teams. Honestly, I feel bad for Baker more than
anybody else, but a mecho Buka or I guess that's
the correct way to say it. It's not the Gronkowski
way to say it. But hamstring injury. Man, Like we
were literally throwing to Caleb Johnson and Tess Johnson. You
guys don't know whose names are. It's probably right. It's
normal you shouldn't know who those guys are.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Yeah, they're saying it's not serious, but honestly, like the
Buccaneers tend to downplay injuries like they're making.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
It seem like Bucky had a chance to suit up.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
The week he was injured in a walking boot, So
I am tempering my expectations.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
I think he'll miss probably two weeks if I had
a guess e they.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
So they actually have two weeks and then have a bye,
So you're probably not going to see him intil week ten.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yeah, which it sucks, but you know he's been you know,
wide receiver one numbers and new drafted him in the
fifth round. So it's just one of those like give
and gamp situations.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
So Baker's going to have to legitimately do everything. It's him,
Rushad White and Katawten out there.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
It's certainly hey, Cadden might be a starter now from
moving forward.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
I still don't want to. I still don't want to.
He was five for six fifty one today.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
I just.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Other injuries. We've got news on a Mari and Hampton.
It seems like it might it's not a season ending,
but it could be significantly more than we thought. It's
kind of why we've heard them knocking on the door.
Breeze Hall's name has been mentioned with the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
When they say it's not season ending, that's not a
good sign. I'm just gonna say it's in that time lead. Yeah,
when they lead you with it's not season ending at
least like oh, she thanks.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Yeah, it's not. It's not twelve week, Indrew. But it
could be a ten week injury.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
It could be an it could be a six. Yeah,
but it's longer than four.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
So Juwan Jennings, come to find out the reason he
was so terrible out there in the game today, one
for three, seven yards. Oh, he's got five broken ribs.
I guess we find that out after the game. I
really really appreciate that, Juwan. You can sit on this buddy. Ah,
just kidd but maybe not really Najoku. Garrett Wilson, Ridley injuries, just.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Ridley's hamstring. Yeah, Garrett Wilson's like he was dealing with
a like he was banged up this entire Broncos game
in the morning. So I don't know where he'll be
at like he went he was trotting back out there
with injury. So I think he'll probably misspractice all the
way to Friday, and Friday will probably be your doomsday
for Garrett Wilson.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
And the last one we've got here, Poka Nakua foot
slash ankle injury. I didn't even see it. I watched
that replay so many times. I didn't even see it.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Yeah, it was weird.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
I he like just landed and that was it. So
I don't I don't know. He went back out there
and played. But again, some guys adrenaline it might not
hit him till.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
The next day. So we'll have to wait and see
for him.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Yeah, big fear there, Jontay Adams might be having quite
a bit come his way. Alrighty, let's uh, let's get
to the booms, get the excitement here. This was this
was not fun to talk about. So as the quarterbacks,
let's talk about Drake May quarterback one going into the
Sunday night game, or as you type him up, Drake Mate.

(06:09):
Yeah auto correct on Apple. We love that there. No,
but really, folks, this guy is he made history today
as far as whatever Sean Sean Hanson was talking about
there on Red Zone. But twenty eight rushing yards, two
hundred and sixty one through the air, three passing touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Yeah, you know it's crazy.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
You know, he probably threw like a like one touchdown
was Stefon Diggs, Right.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
He threw a lot of touchdowns today they got pulled back.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Yeah, Drake May has been I think when we do
the end of the year as it sits right now,
like the steal of the draft, like you've got QB
one and let round double digits.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Yeah, yeah, this was a deep guy.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Yeah, so congrats to you holding the Drake May tight
and be fortunate.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Yeah. I hope that he stays healthy. Yeah, let's fingers
crossed on that one. Who else do we have here
on the booms list? Danny Dimes a frequent name here.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Yeah, when he rushes for a touchdown, he tenss to
do better, like it's very weird splits, Like when he
doesn't rush for a touchdown, his splits are pretty bad.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
But like you guys for a touchdown to day.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
But regardless, like we were rushing throwing touchdown, like he
had a great game. The Colt just had a great game.
Colts just have a very fluid offense.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Yeah, one hundred percent. It does come with the detriment
of some of his past catchers though, unfortunately him and
JT just a little too good on the ground.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Sometimes he had no kidding.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Next up, who we have here? I mean Baker Mayfield.
We got to give this guy's due, like two hundred
and fifty through the air, two touchdowns, rush for fourteen yards.
I will say his over under was fifteen and a
half and he rushed for fourteen. No, I'm not crying. No,
I'm not crying.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
I think.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
I don't know if I texted you this, but I
texted my other group chats. I was like, he's got
to be the favorite for odds for MVP. Like he's
literally doing everything with nothing.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
So yeah, imagine once the team, if this team can
get healthy. You know, he had a receiving corps of
like I don't know, give him a big guy like
maybe like a Mike Evans type, kind of more like
a slotty player like a Chris Godwin.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Maybe like a wide receiver too, like Jilly McMillan.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Just crazy, great young talent to put on and then
a first round talent too. You smack that together with
a great running back and Buckie. Oh my god, that's
the team.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Talking about it like Jilly McMillan, let me go pick
him up.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Yeah, I'm interested to know a little bit more. I
haven't heard a whole lot about his injury, but I'm
right there with you. It looks like the old two
might just be dust or Dusty Yeah, no kidding, who
else do we have?

Speaker 3 (08:44):
I mean, not to give credit, it's really weird, but
like Bryce Young had a day, but like it's not
unexpected to go against the Dallas Cowboys defense. But hey,
man and all the tet owners out there, super excited.
He gave you two touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
So dude, I mean, three catches for twenty nine yards.
That was finally could have been the last straw for
some of these tet owners because it hasn't been spectacular,
but then he comes through with two touchdowns for us.
Let's oh man, I loved that.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
It's kind of easy, though, to throw the ball like
that when you have a top five running back in
the league in Rigo o'dowdle one hundred and eighty three yards,
Like that was a bad day for him. We know
what this guy can really do. Yeah, fifty six through
the air. Oh my god, just okay, can we have this?
I mean, we're gonna have this conversation soon. But does
Cuba Hubbard deserve to have his job back?

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Yes? Because I own a lot of stock in.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Cuba Hubbard selfish son of a bit.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
That's honestly, it is so crazy that like Rico o'dowdle
is uh.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Doing what he's doing.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
It like the efficiency is insane, so like and like
maybe there's like obviously he was talking about like you know,
like buckle up against this old team and everything else
like that, so there is a little bit.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
More juice in this game.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
Like, but the efficiency, it's like you're telling me he's
gonna be this efficient, Like I don't know, man, Cuba,
she has a contract because only things really holding me
to that point.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
And we talked about too right before this Rico doubt
will take over is like how bad this offensive line got.
They had some pretty big injuries hit this offensive line.
And he's averaging eight point nine yards carried last week
and six point one yards carry this week off thirty
and twenty three carries. So it's not like he had
one explosive play that skewed a fourteen you know, fourteen
rushes like this was this is a big shit.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
Yeah, So like after're talking about all yeah, it's I
have no comment.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
I have no comment on that one.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Our last quarterback. We're gonna bring up here. It's uh,
he was fully loaded, that's for sure. Herbie justin Herbert
coming out there two hundred and sixty four through the air,
two touchdowns. Had to get it done because I mean,
like we said, Noah, Maari Nampton and Haskins just we'll
get into that.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Yeah, well we'll dive into that. But you know, hey, man,
no QJ.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Keenan's kind of we'll talk about him later, but you know,
is this the update for Ladd?

Speaker 1 (11:01):
I think it is. I definitely think it is. I
think this is gonna be more style of the game
that they're gonna be looking for him and Keenan are
gonna be built for it, and Keenan Allen. It's not
looked good last few weeks, so we might be hitting
an age cliff. Possibly.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Possibly.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
I'm holding on to hope it's not because I need
him for one more year in Dynasty.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Again, we're no bias here, folks. We're looking out for everybody,
not just us exactly. Alrighty, you already go to running backs.
I mean we've already kind of talked with o'dowdell here.
One hundred and eighty three yards on the ground and
fifty six through the air, are receiving touchdown? Ric o'dowdle
your RB one as of halftime of the Sunday night

(11:47):
football game back to back weeks.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Be excited.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
You're super excited that he's a waiver wire pickup and
he's just now gonna give you back to back weeks
of w So that's all I gotta say for it.
We'll see what happens next week. We will be interesting
if Chuba comes back and let's see what they do
with that.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Mmm mmmm, alright, do you want to do this one
or RB two on the on the week from the
Thursday game?

Speaker 3 (12:10):
They're not dude, Like I like, I don't want to
be deemed a hater because it's just so stupid. Like
I don't know if we'll make it to a second contract,
Like genuinely I say this in like a an actual,
like caring manner, because like the way he plays football
is just like there's just.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
No way that this last.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
But like I don't.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
But we're talking about Camp Kataboo.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Who had Yeah, we didn't talk about the Philly game,
which we don't need to because the game was awful.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
So Camps Gata had a game.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
I enjoyed myself during that game. Yeah, all purpose yards,
three touchdowns for Campscautabou. It's just it's something different him
and Jackson Dart. I don't expect this. I think that
they can get romped. I think that they might get
absolutely romped in the second playing of the Eagles, just because,
like the team overall is not good, but like the

(13:02):
swagger that they have, the hope that you get for
the team.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
I also say, there's just not enough tape out there
on these guys either to where it's like that's another
thing where I'm like, all right, like let's you know,
because Jayden started to slow down a little bit too,
there's more tape, but like again, let's the good ones stay.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
So yeah, I mean I'm rooting for him. Jackson Dirt
first round pick, so you know, hopefully we have a
little bit of stability there. And Cam's got about running back.
As long as you can compete, doesn't matter really where
you're drafted. Next up Josh Jacobs, Oh, buddy having himself
a day.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
You needed this day from Josh Jacob owners hundred.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
I've been sitting here trying to beat the drum, like, oh,
I think this guy really has like you're gonna trade
for somebody. This one seems really safe. Great position on
the team, ninety three yards rushing, fifty to seven through
the air, two touchdowns against the Cincinnati defense, which I
mean we kind of expected it too, but glad it
came to fruition.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Yeah, no, this is you.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
Jacob's owners were getting a little fresh traded to it
because it's just like, we need that extra ump out
of him, and this is what you got.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
So you're excited.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Just as excited as they were for Dan Chan one
hundred and twenty eight yards rushing man twenty two through
the air, two rushing touchdown. This is not the way
that this guy usually wins. This is not the way
that this guy usually went. So I was kind of
surprised by it altogether, but like that huge breakaway run,
it was great, absolutely awesome to see it.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Yeah, the next day we're gonna talk about is uh.
We kind of said we started the other guy and
then this guy had more juice and harboggs, I'm afraid
to go with the guy who's got the more juice,
And it was kimanivad All. Kimani Vidall had himself a day.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Yeah, I would. I mean, we kind of talked about
in the start sit like there was this was kind
of what we were looking at as a possibility, Like
Harpball kind of has this guy's asking, but at the
same time, it's it's backups. He had these two last
year and they went out and spent first round draft capital,
they went out in free agency and got Naji here, Like,
I still fully expect him to add someone, especially with

(15:02):
the report on Hampton. So hopefully you played Vodell. I mean,
Haskins was six or fourteen one catch for nine yards,
but I was eighteen carries for one hundred and twenty
four yards, three catches on four targets, fourteen yards in
a touchdown. So I hope you played the right one, folks.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
I did and did not in some point because I
couldn't afford same asking, so I got dal.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
I actually, yeah, I put like four or five dollar
bids on Haskins because I didn't really want to spend
a lot on them, and I got a lot of
Vodeal because I just put out one dollar bid. I'm like,
I'll just get whatever's left over. So I'm pleasantly surprised.
But I didn't play him. In most of those leagues,
So we'll see if it even matters. Any other running
backs you want touch on before you get out of here.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
I mean Johnthan Taylor' is the best running back in
the league.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
Yeah, it's I know, I pulled him from the doc folks,
so I know you're tired of us talking about him
if it's a little long biased, But he's great. He's
doing amazing, very very good. Decent day gent is looking,
you know, finally about what we spent in draft capital wise. Yeah,
and Derrick Henry one hundred and twenty two yards.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Look at that.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
He hasn't done that since week one, like combined, it's
week one.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
It's kind of scary.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, it's very scary. Already, let's
go to the wide receivers. Here we go. We've got
a nice, nice set up here. I mean, George Pickens,
your boy, your fella, your man's over there. Nine catches
on all the targets.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
Yeah, top five, Oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Thank you, one hundred and sixty eight yards in a touchdown.
Nine catches man, Carolina. Everybody thought you were gonna run
all over them. Everybody said, oh, maybe the past catchers, Caroline. No, no,
Javonte Williams had the stinker and George Pickens brought the business.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Yeah, no, this is you're enjoying.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
This is a George Pickens owner because it's gonna be
like this maybe one.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
More week and then see he comes back.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
But like I still think, I, like I said, I've
told you this, I think Dak can feed both of them.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
But I think so too, Yeah, I yeah, I think
at some point, like right now, you've got Ferguson, Javonte, George,
and Dak all in the top five at their position.
I think Javonte might be a little closer to ten,
maybe ten fifteen, and then you know, Ferguson a little
closer to six to twelve. But like, I still think
you can get these wide receivers in both of them

(17:20):
top fifteen, maybe even talk absolutely defense is dog shit
and not the good kind of dog shit?

Speaker 2 (17:26):
You know?

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Is there a good dog shit?

Speaker 2 (17:29):
No question?

Speaker 1 (17:30):
We talked about this recently, not you and me, me
and somebody else. Would you rather step in dog shit
or human shit? Like if you're out and walking in
the yard and you step in shituld you rather know?

Speaker 3 (17:37):
Ye?

Speaker 2 (17:38):
But why? But why? Because I know it didn't come
from a human.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
I'd be more disturbative if, like, if I stepped in
human feces.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
But like, why why is that?

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Like? Why would you rather? Like?

Speaker 1 (17:48):
I agree with you, but I just can't explain it myself.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Because I have mental cognizance that's saying that that's it's
weird to step in the human shit than it is
dog shit.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
But I just don't understand why I get I do,
but I don't put anyway. Folks, we're gonna get off. No,
but she did cut my forestkin I hear that doesn't joke?

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Oh yeah, he's double.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Jason number two of course, k Shan Boodie number three.
Let's talk Jamar Chase. After I'm screaming Cell Sell Sell,
He's like, Brian watched this, this this again, back to
back games in the fourth quarter, garbage time, but still
ten catches six ninety four yards in a touchdown.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
Hey, man, finally, finally, I'm.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
Sitting him next week. He's gonna doud next week. He's
gotta doud next week.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Man.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
You gotta have faith, man, you gotta have faith.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
I found myself rooting for Zach Taylor at the end
of this game. Okay, that's how bad it is. I
do not like this man, but I found myself was like,
let me see Joe upset the Packers again. I'd love
to see that.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
Yeah, because I picked him as my eliminator pick too,
just to make it double spite out of me.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
Oh that would have been funny here. Oh by the way,
oh nice, nice, nice. Game's getting closer, Ladd mconkey seven catches,
one hundred yards and a touchdown. We're finally getting to
see a little bit more of that Lad we got
last year. Do you think it continues?

Speaker 2 (19:15):
I do.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
I'm very curious when QJ comes back, like how they'll
make the two work when wee Keenan takes the back
seat now, but like still in the red zone, I'm
still thinking it's Keenan, Like there's just yeah, I Ladd
is more like I said, we've we said we like
Laddin full point PPR. I don't know about like seeing

(19:36):
about half point so you're excited and half points where
you took him.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
But you know this is great for Lad.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
I do think the uptick is coming this way though,
for the for weeks to come.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Yeah, I think at the age at Keenan Allen as
You're right, he is more of the red zone guy,
the possession guy, maybe the first down guy. But Lad's
gonna have to make his do with catches and yards
and that it compliments Keenan pretty well. Yeah, I mean
take a it's your other fella. You got one on
one arm, you get this one on You're right. Brian
Thomas Jr.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Honestly, like it was a very weird day for him
because like I just kept like because you weren't like
his over under was like probably get like fifty six yards,
and he had it and he get the touchdown. Like
I don't know if he'll do it again next week.
That's where I'm at, Like I'm more afraid of Brian
Thomas than I am of Lad.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
I'd agree the play they play the Rams next week.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Oh yeah and bye.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
After that, I get rest of the season, Ladder Brian
Thomas Jr.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
I'll say Lad, that's it's weird, but I'll say Lad.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
Which is funny because I remember saying, oh my god,
that's the stupidest thing ever to take Lad over Brian
Thomas Junior. Where we were taking him in the draft.
Part of that was just Lad's adp. But now just
like coming back full circle. It's like God damn, Yeah,
they're both both lost there. Yeah, and then finally, oh
we did technic olin didn't we?

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (21:06):
DK DK DK wide receiver seven Yeah, four catches, ninety
five yards in a touchdown. He reminds me of Dalton Kinkaid,
like just the work's not there, but the results well,
just this season, like right now, Dalton Kincaid is an
anomaly as far as the work he's getting, and yet
he is like tight end three and right now DK's

(21:27):
he hasn't been an outstanding but like four catches, five catches,
three catches, three catches, four catches, but he's got four
touchdowns in four straight games.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
So it's like, yeah, he's a I mean, but like
he's a big strong man. So like I'll take that
because in the end zone he's going against little strongmen.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Little strong man, Yeah, I'll give you that. He is
the bigger of the strong man. Yes, any other wide
receiver I mean, Wandelle Robinson's six for eighty four in
a touchdown on Thursday. Kendrick Bourne back to back weeks
over one hundred yards one forty two this week.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
Hendrick Bourne's interesting because if Mac Jones, Yeah, like if
mac Jones continuing to start like I am starting Kendrick
Bourne in a heartbeat.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
Do you know any yards he had this week?

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Oh, Kendrick Borne?

Speaker 1 (22:11):
Yeah, like one?

Speaker 2 (22:12):
Four? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (22:14):
Do you know how many he had last week?

Speaker 3 (22:16):
I don't say one? Where's the ten and foil hat?

Speaker 1 (22:22):
He did it on half the catches too to last
week it was ten catches. This week it was five catches.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
Great, Yeah, he had huge like just bursts of catches.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
So outside of the wide receivers were pretty disappointing. Like
we're like I said, it's twenty to seventeen as we're
recording this going to the fourth quarter, and Jamison Williams
is wide receiver number twelve on sixty yards in a touchdown,
So like not a not a great week for wide
receivers overall.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
No, because like Xavier Worthy has a touchdown but like
very little yards. Uh, Travis Kelce is actually doing well
in this game right now, saleing port just like like
I said, just kind of touchdown.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
So the Titans.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Are would are such a weird. It's a weird week
for Titans as well.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
And it's not even tight end week. Last week was
great for tight ends as well. Like they're running too hot.
They're running too hot. I'm pretty sure next week is
National tight end week, and I just don't know if
they're gonna have the steam to make it through.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
I don't know, man, I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
Speaking of those tight ends, Dallas Carter, he's the headliner
here from Thursday night. One hundred and ten yards, nine catches,
and a touchdown. But of course that's gonna happen when
your team's bad and they take your fourth, fifth best
option as your best player.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
You mean, the number one option on Philly, Dallas got.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
That's what I mean. Like, no, no, he should be
behind Will Shipley in target. No, he's not that bad,
but like, come on, man.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
Yeah, I it's just this offense. It's the Phillies offense.
Like in like honestly, as a Gellen Hurts owner, some
of these touchdowns are very close to just being a
running play. I don't know if you've watched him, Like
the way he pitches it, it is like very thin online.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
With where like it's a throw to where it's a run.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
So just say, you know, I've been waiting for one
of them weeks to be like no, it's actually that's
a behind the back.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
It's that correction, that's a I'm literally waiting for it. So,
oh god, Yeah, not great there, Trey McBride, Tyler Warren
coming in at two and three, just stud of studs,
Michael Mayer doing his breast breast best, Brock Bowers impression
coming in at number four, and it's just I mean,
Harold Fannin not bad eighty one.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Yeah, anything to joke injury. I think it makes them
more appealing, going like what Discovery.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Catches seven on ten targets?

Speaker 2 (24:35):
Yeah, yeah, I like that. You do like that? Yes?

Speaker 3 (24:40):
No again, if you don't have the top guys, it's
gonna be difficult.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Yeah, yes, very much. Let's talk about the bad ones.
Let's go ahead and get to strip that band aid
off show ugly. I'll take quarterbacks here. I'll take Matthew
Stafford for one hundred and eighty one yards and a touchdown. Yeah,
this was my fear. The game didn't quite go as
I thought, but I didn't know how much they'd actually
need him. I kind of thought Kiren might have a
better day. Puka going down didn't help, but this was

(25:07):
definitely a disappointment. A heavy streamer.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Yet they just kind of played to win, it felt like,
and like from that game, it just felt it. They
didn't feel like they were trying to, like, you know,
jam it down their throat. So he was just like,
I moved the ball enough to where we are in
the lead, and then we take the lead, we cruise,
And that's what it really felt like for this game.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
Yeah, let's not be embarrassed by getting taken down by
one of the worst teams in the league exactly. And
then justin fields, folks, hopefully you slip in. This game
was not worth waking up for. I was actually pretty
productive during the opening game because not a lot there
to see. Justin fields, he almost outrushed his passing yards,

(25:49):
which usually isn't that impressive because he runs for a
whole bunch. No, he rushed for thirty one and he
passed for forty five. Like their net passing yards was
negative ten.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
Yeah, this game is awful and they almost won it too,
by the way, which is more instane.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
Thirteen.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
Yeah, it's a baseball score and a good game.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
Yeah, it's a great It's a great game watching baseball
with thirteen to eleven. Yeah, now I am this is
what we told you about far fields. Man that the
highs are high, but the lows are very very low,
and it'll make you want to.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
Suck start a shotgun.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
Im Yep. Luckily they were over in England, so they
don't have a lot of those. Yeah, go ahda and
take the running backs. I just don't even want to
talk about half of them. It makes me too angry.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Well, let's talk about the Seattle duo. They had a
great game. Uh, Seattle did not the running backs because
Zach Charmonet and Kenneth Walker were combined. We're running backs
thirty one and thirty two on the day. I don't
know what to do with this backfield. I've said before
ken Walker is a flex play because as long as
one of these if one is if one isn't healthy,

(26:56):
start the other. But if they're both healthy, this is
just very frustrating. This team is a very good team
that's playing to win, and they're doing it the right way.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
It's just frustrating for fantasy.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
Yeah, Jaggs too, like pretty decent defense. I don't think
enough of that has been talked about this year. Like
they've definitely taken a step forward. But I'm playing Walker.
I'm playing Walker because running backs are hard to find,
and he's explosive, he can break away at any time.
But Walker is purely a handcuff like maybe in the
like not even the matchup. This was supposed to be
a matchup for him, Like I just don't want to

(27:28):
play for give me a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
Because what's frustrating about this too is that Charbonnay has
been in the goal line packages every time it has
not been it has not been ken.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Walker, and his stuff rates worse than ken Walker. So
like all this talk like, oh, he needs to go
out there he's doing but no, no, he's getting stuffed
at a higher rate than kin Walker. Is some bootylin Kubiak.
You are not staying on my favorite favorite list right now.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
Just what else we got, well, Jackie Dobbins, what the
Jets were? You know, such an abysmal run defense they
decided to show up today on all days and stuff JK.
Dobbins for like, I think he had like forty yards.
He only had like four points and no catches nothing.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
Yeah, yeah, you know why I know that because I
took his over on receiving, which was like a mere
two point five yards. It's literally hard to get a
catch without getting two and a half yards, and he
missed his only opportunity. Harvey got four catches twenty one yards.
But yeah, Dobbins a mirror forty yards. That's all you
got from him. It's a disappointment. Disappointment, but he's been

(28:30):
pretty consistent issue, so you can't really knock him.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
What do we do with Judkins because this is back
to back weeks bad?

Speaker 1 (28:39):
So this was my concern. This was my whole argument
of like I was not interested in taking him because like,
it wasn't the talent, it wasn't his skill. It was
like how many times is he gonna have a great
game script. Now we'll say last week he didn't get
the touchdown, that's what hurt, but he still had one
hundred and ten yards. Yeah, Like so, like, I feel
like this is really the first week that he's really hurt.
You rushes thirty six yards, it's gonna happen. Luckily next

(29:04):
week they get Miami, But the week after you play
the Patriots pretty good run defense.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Yeah, so I think you're still rolling him out as
your RB two.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
Yes question for you. He gets Now we're looking far,
but we have a pretty good data at this point.
But Chicago Buffalo pitt Is his playoffs. Is this a
guy that you're looking to maybe see if you can
move him after this Miami game?

Speaker 3 (29:31):
Just in like hell no, man, I've I've like I
watched a buddy of mine trade, you know, Javonte Williams
and Toddler and Jylen Lauren for o Marion Hampton. Like
great deal for him, but like now it hurts, like
I say, like, hold on to the guys that are healthy,
Like the regression was gonna come for running backs to
not be healthy. And this guy's a younger guy. I

(29:52):
know Marion Hampton was, And I'm just saying, like I
would say, hold him because I think he's so talented
that he just he needs one breakaway. It's just it's
very frustrating because like Dylan, Gabriel is not exciting.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
No heat is over though he did his over. He did,
it is over. Thank you Gabriel.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
And then the last one Haskins, we kind of touched
on this. We're gonna have to dive into this a
little bit more, wait for some more coach speak. But folks,
it sucks. Sorry it is and it.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
Might be the same next week too.

Speaker 3 (30:22):
Where you know, Vidal gets stuffed too, and Haskins also
good stuff.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Because's just the old line is really really bad.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
So which is crazy. Because of this, I probably would
have been a top five O line for me before.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
The Oh yeah Joel Rashaan Slater, yeah freez.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Yeah uh yeah. But all eighteen for twenty four so
much crazy.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
Eighteen for twenty four.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
One twenty four sorry, eighteen for.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Twenty four I was like eighteen yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
Alright, whide receivers here, let's talk about these last few
guys before we get out of here. I mean, Keenan Allen.
It's been a bit of a skid last few weeks.
He finished this week four catches twenty seven yards wide
receiver forty five, last week wiche for forty three, week
before that wide retread for forty eight. It's much different
than the nine, seventeen and twelve we were getting from him, differences.

(31:13):
He scored touchdowns the first three games, he did not
this time.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
I still think he's the red zone target for Herbert,
so I'm I want to put him more as like
a wide receiver three flex than anything. I know, it's
been bad, but again, like the connection's still there with
Herbert I know it's been rough. I'm still going out

(31:39):
there with Keenan as my wide receiver.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
Three.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
That's as far as I move him. Though.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Eight touchdowns in a season is the highest he's ever got.
He needs to break that this year.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
Uh, I mean digs so many penalties come on, so
many penalties.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
It was a booty day. It was a booty in
Douglas day.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
It was booty in two different ways kind of a day. Yeah,
this is just when Booty's gonna get five for five
ninety three and two Douglas three for seventy one and one.
It's yeah. I mean, at least Henderson broke out right.
Is he droppable?

Speaker 2 (32:20):
No?

Speaker 1 (32:20):
I've seen arguments on Twitter about like people calling you
the stupidest person ever to bail on a rookie. At
this point, that's how you lose. But like some people
just can't hold onto them. You gotta go pick stuff
up sometimes.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
Talk to me in week ten, Talk to me in
week ten.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
You might be able to pick him back up in
two weeks, but he still might not be good. I
don't know. Ye when is their When is their bye week?
Actually a week fourteen? Gross? So if they make the intment.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
That's what I'm saying. Week ten is probably like where.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
You know, it's great, it's a bye weekend. Then they
go into the playoffs, so like you have no idea
and they play Buffalo Baltimore than the Jets. So maybe
you wait for a week fifteen. If you make it
to the semis, then you play against Baltimore. Yeah. Uh, Pittman,
we talked about, like, look, the Colts can only score
so many points. Someone's gonna be at the disadvantage when
the tight ends going off, the quarterbacks going off, the

(33:13):
running backs going off. White see his fault.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
Yeah, there's a lot of fluidity in this offense where
Piman doesn't have to be the focal point, and like
guys like Josh Downs are getting a bunch of receptions
Alec Pearce, Tyler Warren. So yeah, it's just it's a
very fluid offense.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
And this is a thirty point a week good offense,
not a forty point a week good offense. They're not
quite Lions, you know. Yeah, and Garret Wilson we got
a thirty Yeah. The uh last one there I've got
is Garrett Wilson.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
Just which is not his fault.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
Dude, Justin Field's missed him on so many passes, just
like just Eddie thrown like in his vicinity to where
he can just like be in front of him. He's
doing a lot of passes from behind him, which is crazy.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
Josh Reynolds almost doubled Garrett Wilson like there might be
a new wide receiver one in town.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
Oh yeah, the gamble on that one.

Speaker 1 (34:08):
No, not at all, not at all. I mean, yeah,
other disappointments here, but a lot of these are injury related,
so we're not going to pick on them, except for
Juwan Jennings. Tell us what's wrong? Damn it.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
Yeah, Servirances was really honest with their medical reports.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
God just and yeah, and they just lost another one.
They just lost Fred Warner.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
For Yeah, that was crazy, just his own teammates stepping
on his foot.

Speaker 1 (34:31):
Oh no, I was sorry. That was the kicker. The
kicker too.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Wait what wait?

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Who are you you saw Fred Warner?

Speaker 2 (34:40):
Yeah? Oh I thought his foot got stepped on.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Who got that was the kicker? Did you not notice?
It looked like a lady's foot because it was so small.
But yeah, the kicker got stepped on and then Fred
Warner got his ankle rolled up on it like it's broken,
and it's broken. He's done for the season. And yeah,
the kicker could be out too for amount.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
Of time and they just picked him up too, and
he was like steamrolling for him too.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
That sucks.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
Oh god, Yeah, it's it's bad out there. It's rough
to be, isstand right? God, poor fella's not gonna make it.
That's all I've got, though, You got anybody else you
want to bring up?

Speaker 2 (35:16):
No, that's it. That's all I got.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
That's all we've got, folks. Well, that's that's it. We

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
