Speaker 1 (00:14):
Yo, what happened? And everybody here we go Week nine.
It's kicking off here with our Thursday night preview. That's
too much fantasy football. It's Brian, It's Brennan. It's gonna
be a good time. How you doing today, man?

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Doing pretty good. I'm very thankful for leagues that are smart.
And what I mean by that is like if you're
one in like seven, but you're like six and points
four and you're just first in points against, like in
my league's the last place to get in the playoffs
is the best max points, like your best points scored.
It doesn't matter what record, So you could be three
and eleven, but if you're third in points like you

(00:49):
should be in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
It's just an.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Anomaly year where you're getting outscored and you're still one
of the top scorers.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yeah. I'm slowly pushing all my leagues to go on
to uh lead meet in scoring, to get that second
win each week. I'm tired tired of being top two,
top three in scoring and having a losing record. It's
just unfair.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Thank you for just saying League medium. I just explained
it like a five year old.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
For hey, some folks haven'ty. They haven't heard of it. It
might be a new setting. It's an ESPN, they probably
have never heard of that. So yeah, we got to
give you both ways. And that's how we do it here.
You know, we got the blue, the red, the back.
You see, it's easy, folks. We're helping you out. We're
gonna go through some new some updates happening around the league,
diving into the Thursday night preview, and then at the end,
at the halfway point here, folks, we're gonna talk about

(01:34):
what we've gotten wrong so far, what we got right.
Of course, you know a few victory laps there, but
you kind of getting a kind of a good feeling
of where we are because trade deadline is happening this
week and next week in a lot of fantasy leagues,
so trying to just yeah, in the NFL as well, but.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
I think it's next week.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
I think it's next week. Yeah. Yeah, we haven't had
any trades happening really, so yes, we need it to happen. Actually,
I guess that's not completely true. Let's start off with
the Patriots. They just got tweeted out right before we
got on here to record. Patriots are looking for Ed
Rusher of course naturally makes a mother fucking running backs.

(02:12):
Why are you trying to add running backs? Why Darnie
Johnson just got brought up from the practice squad. Henderson
did exactly what you like Rabel. He was effective and
then he fumbled. That's exactly the way Rabel likes his
running backs, right right, What the hell is going on?

Speaker 2 (02:27):
I don't know, Like this one's really weird, Like he
like Remandre's hurt. I'm a sick because he's mispracticed today
if not mistaken, right, Yeah, so like maybe Remandre's like
hurt and they've just now made this public. They're they're
kind of desperate. They're trying to find this happy median
until he gets back or just take over. What are
the cases? Contract's cheap, so like what are they they're

(02:51):
really looking for something cheap because like they don't want
another nine million dollar investment in towards the running back,
like it so it takes out Show but takes out
Tony Pollard. There could be kind of a weird straight
for them just because of contract.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
So and they guy the ground picked tied up in
their other running back, So like Jerome Ford is really
the only guy i'd see pop up on the list here.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yeah, order Travian wasn't I don't. I looked at his
his stat like, wasn't terrible, Like he's a rookie, like.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
He did great last week.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Yeah, this doesn't make sense.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Stupid, stupid. But I did also see they traded away
Kyle Duggar, traded him to the Pittsburgh Steelers because Pittsburgh
is like, well, we're already first and money spent on
the defense, let's make sure we push it over the edge.
And then I saw this trade away another player. Sounds
like they're making room for a wide receiver speculation here,
but it sounds like we're making room for a Crystal
Love contract.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
I think Rashid chi heat goes they.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Stand him though he's twenty seven. Do not extend Rashid
Shiheed the Patriots please? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (03:51):
I really, that's just a lot of money tied up
in some awkward spaces.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah. No, that sounds like Kendrick Bourne all over again.
No thanks. Seahawks brought up another running back from the
practice squad. Is this injury? Is this usage? Is ken
Walker on the move? I'm at this point I want
him to go on. I love Klin Kubiak and what
he's doing up there, but I hate what he's doing
with both running backs.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
I like that tinfoil hack conspiracy. By the way, about
ken Walker, I haven't heard that one yet, so I'll
give you credit there.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Get my hat? Where is my hat?

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Yeah? Can that kind of makes sense because they do
got to pay him, and Zach Sharbonnat has been the
goal line back and he is getting touchdowns. Regardless how
much you want to hate the situation, He's being effective
where they need him to be. So it's it's interesting
because I would be surprised for he's move because Seattle's
doing really well. They're they're five and two, they're you know,

(04:41):
this is a working method for them. So I don't
see ken Walker being moved. I do like the idea
of it though, because at some point, like if they
just want to go full Charbonnat and say like this
is up, this is not our part of our future
ken Walker and go elsewhere like okay, So I'm very
curious if that makes sense to the Patriots. So they
can just do a one year rental and maybe maybe
it's now ken Walker and Henderson for the future.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
I could do that yeah, I could do that. Let's
go to Carolina running back. Look, they were nice, they
did Cuba well. They gave him his job back to
an extent as he came back from the injury. But uh,
reports from the head coach, it looks like this is
now Rico Dawdle's takeover happening.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
First off, I have so much Cuba stock, So I'm sad.
I'm like, I am shooting for the stars and just
hoping Kansas City pulls to steal out because like, I
can't think of another scenario where he goes and it's like, yeah,
he'll be super Like, where else besides the Kansaity Chiefs
would you have him go at?

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Like, okay, really still fantasy relevant and anything like that.
I can't the Chiefs Chargers.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
And that's just with contingency that maybe Hampton is going
to be out for most of the regular season.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Funny enough, that same team I really care about has
O Marion Hampton and Cuba Hubbards. So that's just a.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Saltan the wound right there on that one.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Yeah, seriously, oh man.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
What else do we have here? Scary Terry? I was
hesitant to play him this week. I guess not to
play Hi because I actually don't own him anywhere, but
as far as just where he fell in my rankings
this week, and it looks like that same injury popped
up again. He has already declared out for Sunday Night Football.
Terry mclains, it's a lost season at this point.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
It's a bust. It's a best season. And maybe you
got him kind of cheaper because the whole contract situation
where you got him maybe a round later you're like,
it's still a deal. It's now, it's that's bad.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Wrongo. Michael Carter. He has been cut by the Cardinals
and picked up by the Cardinals practice squad, so he's
right back where it was five weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Yeah, this just tells me that Bam Knight has the backfield,
and I think it's Emy demccardo as like a third.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Trey McBride's coming back soon.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
Like Frey McBride or Trey Benson.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
That one. That one there we go, same team, same team,
Trey Benson though he is on IR. I haven't seen
any exact news about when he's coming back, but you
wouldn't think that they would do this to Carter if
Trey Brinson was like multiple weeks out.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
I I think even if he does come back, you're
gonna be disappointed because I think Bam Knight has carved
a role in this offense. He hasn't looked bad. I
don't know if they give Trey ben and he's coming
off injury, so even if it is, it's gonna be
another couple more weeks before he's good to go. So
I would just say, you're Trey Benson stock is a
hole type.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Yeah. I just recently got him in a grand theft
Auto league and I'm like in trade talks trying to
get rid of him because I have got plenty of
running backs in that league, and I just I don't
want to get caught hold in the bag on that one.
Like you said, bam Knight might might screw lose those shares. Yeah,
JJ McCarthy looks like we are finally going to go
back into the JJ McCarthy experience. Carson Wentz hitting ir Yeah,

(07:48):
really good wedding, any hope, Like, are you knocking Addison
and Jefferson that much? Or are they still.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Like they haven't Parson went but they were bad with JJ.
You are starting him this week with just like he
needed this ir he needed this phantom stint. He now
sees Carson Wentz bad. There's no pressure. He's done for
like just all of these kind of like hype montage
you're building in your head to try to make yourself
feel better about playing these guys. Let's just call it

(08:18):
what it is. JJ McCarthy might not be a really
good quarterback in this league and it could really affect
the Vikings players for the rest of the season.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
That means everybody.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
That means Jordan Mason, that means Aaron Jones, that means
Justin Jefferson. You just hope for Spike Weeks and they
really are more flex players.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Yeah, I honestly, I think I would consider the league
lucky if we get six good quarterbacks out of six drafts,
much less six quarterbacks in the first twelve picks of
the draft. So there's no way all these guys were
gonna be good. We're seeing cracks in Obviously, Michael Pennocks
is struggling, but Nix, I think is showing.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
A little bit more of pois what.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
We saw, what we saw in the draft process of
kind of why he probably shouldn't have been an early
first my pick. But yeah, you know, we're holding out hope, Okay, hopefully.
Then as far as waiver stuff goes, we're not really
diving straight into waivers, but just uh, keeping an eye
on Tank Bigsby and Dylan Sampson, two guys that had

(09:14):
their their starter kind of banged up going into a
bye week. They aren't required to report as much of
the injury, but if you have that extra spot, those
are two people I'm looking to pick up, but you
may not. You may not. You might have to be
a pickup after the games played this week.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
They're in the category of it doesn't hurt to pick
up just because they have a at this moment, there's
a better chance of them being more effective than somebody else.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
On your bench, especially Tank Bigsby. I bust off one
hundred yards in just the second half alone. He you know,
clearly looks like you can plug.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
In and be a you know, let me ask you
this question. It's kind of a little off subject here,
but are you holding on Isaiah Davis even if bris
Hall doesn't get traded.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
H yes, just the the usage we are seeing, I
mean it's twelteem of course, ten team definitely not. It
depends on how your Rosteret constructor. But I've got a
couple of teams where I am bleeding at running back,
you know, like starting Kyle Manungai in the RB one
spot kind of a thing. So yeah, those teams, I'm
definitely I'm picking up as many running backs as I can.

(10:16):
And if you've got multiple ouns with this, Briese could
be traded. He could be hurt at anytime, like and
Isaiah Davis is being used with brief so I think
that he's like just an un sexy flex player at
this point who might roll into a bigger workworld load,
so it's worth of shot.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
I just want to say shout outs all the Kamanungu
I believers, because you actually got me a win this week.
Because I have some leagues where I just wait till
after the waivers clear so I can just go green button. Wait,
did you guys all been on Kamanungui, which is respectable.
I would have done the same thing. However, it left
me with one only player to play some JP Ryan
JP Ryan, and that felt really good to see the

(10:52):
end of that show.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
I mean, yesterday on the stream they're talking about waiver
wire Kyle, I mean p Ryan actually seems like a
decent pickup with the point just the amount of points
that are going to the Bengals. If you're hurting, that
might be the answer. The last thing I had here
is looks like brock Party. We've seen enough mac Jones.
We're ready to move on. The whole is mac Jones
the reason that Brian Thomas Junior did great kind of

(11:15):
a thing. I think we can put that to bed
that it wasn't just purely a mac Jones situation. Brock
Party should be.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Back because maybe Mac hurt. Maybe mac Jones is hurt. Yeah,
is ego, Yeah, I'm sure maybe.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Nice and anything else as far as news notes, something
might not play right.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
So that's uh, Jake towards Jamar, it's been so good.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
Gee Higgins might be getting a sit treatment this week
with only four teams on by and Jake Brown and
coming back. I don't know. You see Jamar Chase most
targets in NFL history across three games.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
The number one pick is a live baby. We're having
a great time this year over here. Let me tell you, yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
That roller coach is about to go on a downhill here.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Yeah, this this week, it's okay, like I'm still gonna start.
It was not not even a choice. There, God, back.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
To back, Joe's going down for the Bengals. I mean, overall,
it's good for the franchise when you get Zach Taylor
out of there. Yeah, I agree. Awesome, let's go to
this Thursday football game, folks, if you haven't looked at
the lines, if you don't look at lines, last week
was pretty gross. It wasn't the best. We only had
like one what two competitive games all week. It was

(12:29):
pretty crappy.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Right when one game that ended in single digit scoring
like the like the yeah, the Packers and Steelers, or no,
it wasn't that one. It was the Jets and Bengals that.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Yeah, that's right, that's again gave us a good show
getting their first win, and maybe that's all they needed
for to get rid of breechsall. They're like, look, we're
gonna hold onto all our pieces, get our first win,
and then we're gonna ship everything off, make sure we
don't go winless one for Nick.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
I guess I'll give.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
I forget about that r I P A r P.
But yes, if you do look at these lines, folks,
kind of gives you a good idea of where the
points are gonna be all that fun stuff. Right now,
as of this recording, we have five games, five games
on the week that are over fifty point implied totals,
three of which three other games are over forty seven.
That's tasty, folks. That means points, points and points. And

(13:18):
one of these games is gonna disappoint the hell out
of us. But hopefully it's not. Thursday, we get to
see the Baltimore Ravens take on the Miami Dolphins in
South Beach. A fifty one and a half point over under.
You got twenty nine im played points to the Ravens
twenty two to the Dolphins, like three touchdowns across both points.
Like that's that's money. They're in fantasy, So let's open

(13:38):
it up. Who is starting here in this game?

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Well, you're gonna start Lamar. You've been waiting for so long.
It's it's just like hallelujah, he's back. Because you've probably
been treading water. With some random pickups. You might be
able to start two. You might just be able to
there's a possibility.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Who if you're down bad. But it's the Thursday though, too.
I don't know if I'm that bad. If you are
that bad, you might have to do it. But I
I'm trying to.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
I had a choice, right, let me tell you this,
because I'm gonna buy with Jillen Hurts. So I had
to go pick up somebody. It was Trevor Lawrence or Tua.
Those are my real options here in this league is
the twelve man league.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
So I was like, damn against the Raiders.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Yeah, bad defense, but Trevor, I meant, could go off.
It could be game. Not not just Trevor's game, but to.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
Go into Friday, Saturday and then Sunday morning seeing that no,
I gave you seven points, Yes, agree, that would hurt.
I'd probably pivot away, but I don't hate it. Like
the Dolphins are playing decent over the last few weeks.
I mean a lot of losses, but close games, close
competitive games over the last few weeks. No Tyree kill,
no problem.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Oh yeah, I'm gonna just beat the shit out of
the Falcons too. So maybe they're.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
But yeah, Lamar's lying. His rushing yards line is like
thirty six and a half. I think it's thirty eight
and a half now it's been bet up. Juicy, It's
juicy over.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
I think I think be taking that over.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
For show running backs. Derek Henry Devon a Chan. These
are I mean, two mister studs. Absolutely, Devon a Chan.
We're gonna talk about things that we got right and wrong.
Devana e Chan is definitely one I'm going to say
that we got right this year. RB ten three, sixteen, sixteen,
sixteen five, sixteen nine. The running back after Beijon and
TMC shit the bed. No, the running back has done

(15:31):
that this year.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
He's one of those where if you don't draft scared,
it benefits and this is what it is like. You
play to win, and he's one of those guys where
you draft win.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
Yeah, Dereck Henry. On the other side, you know Steam's
building up RB eight RB thirteen over the last two weeks.
Two touchdowns this past week. I yeah, loving it.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
Yeah, you're happy with the progress so far because it
was looking bad in the beginning.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
Ollie Gordon continues to be a handcuff for you.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Yeah, because it's just one the if Devon Ahang goes down,
you know, the role increases, and he's been effective in
his role. He's always in like the short yardage plays,
the goal line. It's just one of those where it's
he'll have a better week than what he's doing and
you like what you see, but he's not starting for you.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
A pretty gnarly twenty yard touchdown catches past year too.
It's not exactly in his uh his backage tricks typically,
but you know it came through as far as these
wide receivers, I mean, Jalen Waddle, I think they flowers.
Both of those. Everybody whoever has them there they feel
pretty confident in. Yeah, a kickings on Bateman or Hopkins.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
I know Hopkins is more desperate. To me, he had
more of a you know, continuity with Lamar than I've
seen with anybody else of Hima Bateman so far.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Yeah, Bateman's been a good as far as the best
ball stocks. Anybody's picking up baitment that it's not worked
out the way it did last year with the touchdowns. No,
and then outside of that, like Mark Andrews, Isaiah likely
especially going on to a third say I don't like it.
I don't want it.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Yeah, I don't want not There's just too many other
options I could think of that'd be like, I just
want to pivot to this.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Yeah, Miami's actually been pretty good against wide receiver. They're
second worst matchup for wide receivers on the year. It's
pretty wild. Throw the pack, that's weird. You beat him
in the run though, right, that's where we're bad. They're
twenty eighth against the running backs. Okay, twenty five point.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
You can just run all over them.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
Yeah, it's one of those situations. You can throw all
over the Miami Dolphins. You just don't need to throw
all over the Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Yeah, so this is really good, Derek Henry, game is.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Over you, buddy, some quarterbacks and running backs and hopefully
some Jalent model nice sick game. It is it hitting
the over?

Speaker 2 (17:46):
I want to say no, but it's close. I don't
want to say it's like, oh, if I say the
under down, I'm expecting decent scoring. But I just think
that that that's the line.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Yeah, Baltimore a bit hits there over. It's it's all
about to which to get.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
That's where I'm at with it.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
I agree.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
It could be five touchdowns for the Ravens and one
for the Dolphins.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Yeah, it could be four Picchigan for two or four touchdowns.
It's he's he's Katie, he's hot. He's cold, he's yes,
he's now who wins it? Ravens even seven and a half,
they get it.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Yeah, this one's not a weird upset for me because
the Dolphins just came off a really great victory. No
one was expecting that Ravens looked okay or Ravens looked
good last week without Lamar so trending upward.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Yeah, interesting to see what comes of that whole Lamar
Will he play? Won't you play? The fact that they
pulled him at the end of this like they had
no strategic advantage by saying Laura was gonna play all
week and then anything.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
The Vegas odds, which actually benefit of them, doesn't matter
because they still won by a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
Right, This is Vegas pissed off and then realizing, oh wait,
we had it right the whole time. We were good.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
Yeah, we're good.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Nice. All right, let's talk about some of those rust
of season stuff. A few of these guys that we're
looking at as far as what we got right, what
we got wrong at this point, maybe a few players
you're really targeting rest of the season players you're fading, Uh,
pick us off?

Speaker 2 (19:10):
Who am I you're trying to get back on Marion
Hampton right now. This is where it's that that owner
is either really desperate and he needs a piece that's
kind of stable that will just get him by because
he's hurting. So he took him as his two. Now
he's really thinn of RB. That's a guy who I'm
targeting because I think he'll be back. If you can't
afford it, he'll be back in like a couple more weeks.

(19:32):
I think he'll be week eleven return is what I'm hearing.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
Yeah, him and Bucky I would definitely stay or two guys.
If you are one, two, maybe three losses, I'm kicking
the tires. I'm looking to see what I can do.
Not only like they're coming back from injury. They're gonna
have fresh legs. You know, they haven't been getting beat
down over the last month. So definitely I like that
call a lot for targeting those two. I guess let's

(19:59):
sort off what a we've gotten right so far this year.
I mean, I feel like Drake May is definitely a
player we're looking at a lot this summer. My guy
for me, QB number two in the season. Yeah, it is.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
This is a really good call. He was he was
one of those guys where he took him after Jordan
Love and what was real difference between him and Jordan
Love on their highs in their games where they were successful.
So I do agree with that he's had a bad stretch,
but he's also been He's still QB one in the year.
Is Caleb Williams.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Yeah, Caleb Williams sitting there at QB twelve in the year,
even with that skid of games. You know, he's giving
you enough high of highs. You know, QB one finished
nine to ten. He is, it's still been good. It's
still begin and it's a new offense. He's learning a
brand new system. He's learning to trust his offensive line again.
I think their days are ahead. And yeah, I think
he was a great grab, especially where he was going

(20:51):
in drafts.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
Exactly Dak Prescott.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
As well, coming off at Q eight right now, big
stinker this past week. But he was another player that
we were kind of beating drum on quite a bit.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Yeah, we were just like this team had to throw
a lot and look they're doing it to throw a
lot twin games, and it was just like colored me shocked.
It works out.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
Justin fields. I wouldn't say we assarily we were high
on him, but he was being drafted by And I
still don't know if he's technically a bad pick because
he gave you, he's giving you plenty of usable weeks.
But it's also there's been some stinkers in there too,
so it's a very volatile pick, but not quite. I
really didn't think the Tyron would be taking a shot.
I just didn't see that as a possibility. It's Tyron,

(21:33):
He's forty.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
He was going as what QB ten, right if I'm
mistaken him.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
Most so was his average where he was between QB
nine and fourteen depending on your league, and when you
got him it was it was very There's people that
loved him, people that hated him.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
So it's and that's what he is. That's I think
he's I think he's been okay for where he's been taken.
But like if you had asked me last week, you
were cutting him and he's a disappointment.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Yeah, I agree. There. Kyler Murray again kind of one
of those middle of the pack guys. We weren't exactly
fading him, but we weren't exactly boosting him up. Kyler's
been some shit, Kyle, absolute shit and call of dude,
he's about to drop, So like he's.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
Done, let me give you a name and you tell
me where you're at with him. So you and I
both were like, his ceiling is just kind of capped
and it has been. Lad McConkey. I think we got
that one right. I like you and I just weren't
comfortable taking him in that wide receiver tennish twelve ish.
We liked him a lot closer outside of it.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Yeah, we liked him a lot closer to sixteen than
we did ten. I think we got it right because
it was three straight good games exactly correlated to your
draft capital, and at that point we made the appropriate adjustments.
You know, Keenan Allen was a big favorite of mine.
I think I got him in literally every single one
of my rechaff leagues this year because he was such
a late pick. ADP didn't have time to adjust and

(22:55):
I was able to pivot up most of those leagues
where that be trade away Kenan out swap him for Lad.
I think we couldn't have handled Ladd McConkie more beautifully
if if that's not patting ourselves on the back too much.
But I really think we hit that one out of
the park. I agree.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
I'm gonna give you a name where we failed. It's
a Jacobe Myers. You and I both liked him a lot.
You're like, where he's being drafted, take it, take all
you can of him, because all he does is just
puts up just like wide receiver two numbers, and he
has been a bust.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
Yeah. Absolutely, Luckily, Again, the draft costs built into him
wasn't anything that was gonna kill you. But yeah, that
was That's not great, Bob, it's not great.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Yeah, I'm gonna go with the name where we got right,
but we got it right because we got lucky with
injury and it's Brock Bowers. You and I both like
liked him, but we also said temper your expectations where
you're drafting because it can hurt you. And we were
never like super.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
High on him. I mean to be fair, though, I
don't think we were high on any of the top
eight ish tight ends like you you know you were.
You were coming around to Evan Ingram there as we
got closer to the draft season, but you know, still,
I think you were getting him in the ninth plus round.
So it's it's still not terrible. It was right around
where Tyler Warren was going, and you know we looked
out grabbing him as well. But most of these tight

(24:14):
ends early were kind of butts. Trey McBride, even as
good as he has, he hasn't been hurt or anything
like that. His quarterback sucks until he has Jacoby Brissette.
Jacoby Brissette has brought him so many more points in
those two games than the Kyler has. Like the touchdowns.
He had three touchdowns in the two games with Jacoby Brissette. Previously,
it took him i think twenty one games to get
three touchdowns with Kyler if you take out that fumble

(24:35):
he picked up last year. So really just our our
fade tight ends in general has worked out well for us.
Tucker Craft, if you faded him, you know you're screw.
But we weren't an anti Tucker Craft.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
It was just no. I was actually pretty positive Tucker
Craft in my top ten.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
I'm trying to remember where he was being drafted. He
was right in that Tyler Warren.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
He was like after Mark Andrews, he was after he
was right around there. He was after Evan Ingram. Typically
mostly in Master, Kelsey Jeft warns, Yeah, yeah, and I.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
Had him Hawkinson, all those fades that we had.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Yeah, we faded, and I guess we did really want
to tight end. I will say we did, I think.
But it's not hard to get wrong fading.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Tight end, just it's hard to get it wrong.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Yeah, just like you said, it's true. But like the
ones we like though, are actually being successful, and the
ones we hated they haven't been.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
Uh again Mini Victory lapping this more so to dig
it into him, folks, because he was a fade on him.
But Javonte Williams, I will say I was not this
high on him. I always absolutely so, Like I have
no credit for saying that this is what was gonna happen,
but just taking the shot, taking the shot on Javonte
where he went has fed babies, fed homes, It has

(25:47):
fed cities. What Javonte Williams has done RB four on
this season going as like RB forty, RB thirty five
plus absolutely ridiculous looking back in hindsight. But uh, you know,
if you took a swing there, you're definitely happy with
that one. Because outside of that, the other top five
backs J T. C mc demant a Chan, Bijon, James Cook,

(26:07):
Josh Jacobs, Junior Gibb, Saquon Barkley. These were all as
it's expected.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Yeah, maybe this is my Christian Watson moment. This is
my will own it. They will sit there and on it. Yeah,
I said I to drafted him. I didn't like him
because I liked another player. Who is he's finally catching steam.
It's Jayden Blue. He's starting to get a little more involved,
all that all that stock I had in best Ball,
just like I just need you to be on the

(26:33):
field and do some sort of production. And it's been
now it's starting to improve.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
I forgot about Jaden Blue. It has been so long.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Yeah, so.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
Too. I don't mind many victory lapping that one too.
We did our bus episode and it was not a
bad player to avoid coming out of draft season two,
you know, like he didn't come out of the gates running.
You were paying pennies to acquire this guy around week two,
three and four. So another one of those players. I
get it that the talent's there, the usage, but sometimes

(27:08):
it just doesn't work out and you have to be
okay with that going into the summer. So Ashton Jency definitely.
Chase Brown, though, is another guy that I was absolutely
all over. It's taken seven weeks for paid dividends, So yeah,
I mean Joe Burrow might Mike He definitely played into
that a lot. But you know a player that has
hurt a lot of my draft stock because of way

(27:28):
too much Chase Brown.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Yeah, I agree with the Chase Brown. When I was
going through my head, I'm like, yeah, remember the gent one.
I'm trying to think of my guy who was like
my well, my guy, Chris A.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
Lave.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
I mean that's I said, Hey, I think he's being
itierrated where he's at. He's currently what wide receivers, He's
not a He's not a wide receiver one, right.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
I guess he is. He is a top ten wide receiver.
And to my defense, this is a lot of what
I expected from him. He's in the league in targets,
but it's just the the inconsistency, the non big blow
up games. That's what I was worried about, Like, I
didn't think he was ever gonna win me a week,
and that's what I like to get. But at the

(28:10):
same time, you can't have just bolt ole big win
players like Jameson Williams on your team. You need the
Chris O' lobbies, the guys that are gonna go in
there and give you a great floor and the possibility
of big games because, like you know, a stint of
wide receiver thirty one, thirty four to thirty five and
eighteen not exactly killing you, but not exactly winning it
for you, but stacked up on the season. Yeah, he's
wide receiver ten. He is flaring away number one and

(28:33):
expected fantasy points number two in the league in targets.
And that's only because Drumar Chase has had this stupid
historic run. But no, this was this was a great call.
This is a Jerry Judy was going around him, Calvin
Ridley was going around like Jacoby Myers. This was a
home run pick when you compare it to some of
these players that are going right right around him.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
No, I yeah, so let's just go through really quickly.
Are my guys answer, it's his answer has been good
or bad. Just go with that, right, Let's do it.
So for me, if I'm on top, I haad Caleb
Blames is my quarterback, Drake may was mine. Okay, both killed, Yeah,
call it a win for both of us years is
a better win just because of Drake May where he's

(29:14):
been at. But Caleb still QB one. Let's go running backs.
This is where it gets u thicy for the both
of us because mine's a Marion Hampton, which was good.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
Yeah, it hasn't been great, but not due to the process.
The process was right. The results just weren't. In Groves,
injuries happened.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
You're doing.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
I don't want to talk about it. Well, I refuse
to say I'm not taking it as a loss. Okay,
where you got him. You drafted him in the RB twenties.
He is RB twenty five on the season. His freaking
workload is unreal when you look at his tackle breaking like, oh,
I don't remember who put it out there, but Ian
Harden's put out a tweet about he made up a

(30:00):
new metric called badass or something like that. Ken Walker
was number three because it was like broken tackles just
he's all the stuff, all the cool stuff. But when
you get half usage because Kubiak wants to be a
smart playing for the playoffs kind of guy, I don't like.
I'm not taking it as a loss because you draft
him an RB twenty five and he comes into RB

(30:21):
twenty five. It's not a win, but it's a loss.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
Bet.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
It's like picking the Packers when they tie it for
a Survivor League.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
You're upset because you have Ken Walker right now, Let's
just be honest.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
You are upset most most people are. I am crying
through the smiles.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
Because you have to start him. Yeah, it's just frustrating.
You just need a touchdown now.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
I'll give you there.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
I understand where your thought process is. There, let's go
wide receivers. Chris A. Lobby is my guy?

Speaker 1 (30:48):
I what twenty spots above ADP. Yeah? Huge, Yeah, that's
a huge one. Absolutely. Jaylen Wattle again, Jayleen Wattle and
Chrysal they were back to back in freaking.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
You know, like I thought Wattle was going undervalued as well.
I would have had him as my guy as well.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Wattle is why did you we thirteen on the season?
I get it, Tyreek Hill is hurt, but like a
I'm not gonna say it was a bad pick because
of that. But that was also something we talked about
in the off season. I said that this team could
be bad. There's a chance he could get traded. There
were those whispers he's old. There's a chance that he
could be dust and or got hurt or just wattle
solve its target. So no matter how he got to it,

(31:29):
I'm taking us a win. Five hundred yards on the
season or receiving touchdowns so far. Why did you wear thirteen?
Let's go.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
I don't want to talk about tight ends.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
Oh, come on, we gotta talk about tight ends because
I picked Tyler Warren.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
Yeah, it's a good pick. Tight end three in the year.
It's fantastic. I have about twenty five percent stockholdage on
this one guy. And it's bad.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
Oh you're talking about the Joker.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
Yeah, the smoke guy that they gave a good contract
to who I thought for sure would be kind of
be a big peep R machine. And it's Evan Ingram.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
It's been bad. Yeah, granted, and you're in the defense
of him. He was banged up quite a bit for
a good portion of the early season and over the
last five weeks. I mean four targets last week, but eight, six, six,
and seven. So like a lot of the processes there.
He tweeted the Joker card. How could it not come
to fruition? Man?

Speaker 2 (32:25):
I was I I really wish I had made mine
Tucker Craft and again Tucker Craft is in the high twenties.
In the high twenties or no low twenties for me
and my best ball stocks like I can prove it
and Tyler Warren all I had. I had those three
guys my high highest draft of tight ends.

Speaker 1 (32:43):
Yeah, the Tucker Craft gludget, I'm glad you didn't. You
would have blown me out of the water. And the
White guys this year, Yeah, it works out.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
Evan Ingham just goes on his tear at the end
of the year though, just like please, he's making relevant.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
Overall, though significantly better than we did last year. Of
my guys, I think I missed on three or more
four at least two of my four last year, so
I'm pretty happy this year. Ken Walker is the only
thorn in my side at this point.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
Yeah, Evan Ingram was I remember mine last year? I
know it was Alvin Kermer for sure, as my running
back was really excited I had them.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Yeah, that one was a huge hit for you last year.
Daniels at quarterback as well.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
Yep, Jane Daniels again that but that was that was
kind of like a layup. But again, Amaron Hampton he
was a layup too, So I'm gonna keep doing it.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
The easiest shot for a reason.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Folks, do you know who my wide receiver tight end were?

Speaker 1 (33:38):
I don't remember why did receiver? I want to say
Chris so lobby again for some reason, but obviously I
know that wasn't right back to back heres sts back
to back heres. So that's interesting.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
They did interesting.

Speaker 1 (33:53):
Yeah, I guess as far as like, I don't know
other misses, I'm trying trying to be equal here with
you folks. Look for some of our misses. We just
don't do it very often unless he's doing props.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
But you know, I mean like a miss because its
injury was like we both like James Connor, Yeah, that
one did. Like we were just like the values there.
He's just gonna be a consistent RB two and.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
I got hurt. Like yeah, I mean Nico Collins, Brian
Thomas Junior haven't been great this year. Brian Thomas Junior
were definitely higher than Nico. Nico, we were full on
of the I mean Joe Mixon, you know, we we
faded him before he got hurt. It was a lot
of that battle. The offensive line just made a lot

(34:41):
of the Texans. An easy fade for me. I mean,
Rossie Rice take that one as a win. We've been
beating that drum for what two years now.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
Yeah, I mean it's He's just perfect for Mahomes. It's
just get the ball out of my hands quick and
you do the rest of the work. I don't care
what you do, just get just go go forward. And
that's what he does. He just goes forward. He was
very good at it.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
We get full fades on uh on Cooper Cup. I
don't think we drafted him a single time this offseason,
so that was nice.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
I have zero stock if a lot of leagues.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
I don't know if it's a bad call because Ricky
Piersoll was leading the league and receiving yards up until
the injury. But like both of us were on to
Ricky him, Ricky me, Juan Jennings and it just hasn't come.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
But it seems like Kendrick Bourne, you know how we're done.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
Yeah, But like when CMC's taking all the power from
all the other players, it's kind of hard for them
to get anything done.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
There's wins and losses in both of that. We lost
in Ricky Piersoll, but it just it's injury, so there's
nothing we can do about it and wins. We You said,
take CMC, You're gonna win the league if he if
he stays healthy. That you can't predict injuries, and I've
I've said that on the show plenty of times. So
and CMC is a league winner right now.

Speaker 1 (35:52):
Yeah. Nice. Any of the players you want to highlight
here before we get out.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
Again, I can't think of an I'm trying to think of,
like when we were just like, ah, that guy, but
I can't think of I think we kind of touched
bases because like we were big anti lad guys.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
And then you're gonna talk about Scataboo. We can you
omit that one?

Speaker 2 (36:16):
I mean I was right, just not in the right way.
I said Tyrone Tracy would be the lead back and
we're gonna sit. He'll have more starts as a lead
back than he would Camp Scataboo. But I said Scataboo
would be have a concussion, not a broken ankle.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
That does suck.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
He was really fun to watch. I'm just like so
much Tyrone Tracy stock for me as made me hate
Camp Scataboo, but like you can't hate him. The dude's
fun to watch.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
Yeah, and he's an anomaly too. Not only is a
white he is he a white running back, but like
just the way he runs and gets it done, he's
it makes no sense. It's if you take that bet
nine times out of ten, you're gonna get it right.
He is just he kind of pops out. So everybody's
open except for the NFC East, hoping he comes back healthy.
Excited for him next year.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
News on that he is supposed to make a full
recovery and be back like he did tear a ligament
in his broken ankle. But like they just said, it's
he'll he'll be good to go as long as there's
no setback. So good news, expect him all right. Final
thing before we go, if you got to predict camp,
where's camp?

Speaker 1 (37:16):
Scatta?

Speaker 2 (37:16):
We go as RB what next year?

Speaker 1 (37:19):
This is a good call.

Speaker 2 (37:20):
Let's see. Let's se where we're at with this.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
I bet he I bet he's in the top twelve
running backs drafted.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
Okay, you go twelve, I'll go. I'll go fourteen because
I think I think he's not there just yet. I
think he's outside of it. I just want to I
don't think he is but it's a hype.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
I think the hype because jt cmc, A Chan, Bijon,
James Cook, probably Josh Jacobs, Jumiir Gibs, Barkley, Breisee.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
Hall, Jeremiah Love. Who's gonna come in the league? Where
and if he goes to a juicy spot?

Speaker 1 (37:55):
Yeah, Ashton gent Kyant, he's gonna be. He's gonna be
top fifteen, easy, easy, top fifteen. He might be varying
between ten and fifteen, depending on all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
I agree with that. I think he's closer to fifteen
for me, Bucky.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
Would you be taking Bucky's gonna be up there?

Speaker 2 (38:10):
I'd have a Bucky than Camp scattering.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
I think, Oh, I guess that one's one for I mean, granted,
last two weeks for Baker mayfileven been great, but I
was fading. I didn't think Baker could could do it.
I did not think he could do it at the
level that he is this year. So because of his
draft price, I did fait him a lot. Granted he
was still expensive, but I'll take that one as a
loss though with Baker fair, but I make up with

(38:33):
Drake May so I'll give a shit awesome man you
got anything else for the people, I got nothing, folks.
Make sure you come back tomorrow when we're gonna be
going through our start sit episode. We'll be touching on
all of the remaining games, going through all that, and
of course, don't forget to come back for the Saturday
episode where we do all of the betting episodes. Killing

(38:55):
it on props, folks, absolutely killing it. Come back, Let's
make some coin.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
Well live an eliminator. I'm still alive.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
Shut Oh god. Nobody cares about the eliminators, or at
least I don't because I lost. Make sure you're following
us everywhere Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, all that fun stuff. It's
too much fantasy and football. I'm too much underscore, Brian.
He's too much me more. Thank y'all for listening, Like,

Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant.
