Got a lot of cool websites out there for you guys.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Are stay in touch with us here at the show
and get these picks and put cash in your pocket. So, Ronnie,
as I've been talking about the past couple of weeks, man,
you know, college basketball, we're beginning to see it.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
The teams that are good are good.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
But before we get into it, I want to talk
a little bit about Duke. That Duke curse. Another ankle's gone.
Oh bike un Cooper Flag this time has ended up
going down with a severe ankle injury. I don't know.
We saw this one Williamson back in the day, and now,
(05:02):
Ronnie b we see the injury bug hitting Cooper Flag.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
Do they got to get rid of that logo down
in the Bible Belt.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
I don't know, talking about and deming there here to
get you.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
But I'm just telling you it's very simple.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
Like Duke, now that Cooper Flagg could possibly be sidelined,
I wouldn't want to see them trot him out like
they did Zion Williams in a couple of seasons ago on.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
A bad wheel.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
And I'm not too sure if it's the sneaker game
that they got going on, because I'm like, love, oh
my goodness, these guys are playing in running shoes now too.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
They're all low tops.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
But Ronnie, be your thoughts on that, because this is
now the again, very similar to what we've seen over
the last four or five seasons. Stars getting hurt, especially
Duke stars getting hurt, and that's gonna be a game
changer for them today. In their matchup yesterday, you know,
North Carolina, they were adult at this bark and still
(06:01):
didn't bet it.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Watch.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
I was like, man, Carolina any went and they got
robbed dad anyway.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
So I mean, at the end of the day.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Like you said, college basketball players have really developed their
marketability in the NIL era, put themselves out there. But
here's where the problem comes in. At health, it's still
not healthy. They're listening to the ball, to the face,
and that's something that you got to worry about. And
I think that's the reason why a lot of these
kids wanted to get paid early. But Ronnie be a
(06:30):
getten a little bit of feedback from you, but go
ahead with your thoughts.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
Yeah. I saw the ankle. He landed right on the
foot of somebody and they went flat. I was surprised
to break or anything. But the MRI came back negative.
So I think they're just giving them a couple of
days here and getting ready for the tournament. I think
he'll play some tournament time today. Obviously, I think he's
sitting out, so we'll see what happens. But it was bad.
(06:56):
He was lucky that something worse didn't happen.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
I know, I know, because and you look at where
he fell.
Speaker 5 (07:02):
Yeah, it made me cringe.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Yeah, yeah, I know, you know he fell, you know,
and then he got up, you know, showed some toughness,
and then we saw him in the Jerry ectchriec Will
chair about five minutes later, and I was like, oh,
this can't be good.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
This can't be good.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
But yeah, today, you know, Duke, I would advise you
to take a look at them on your line sparingly
just because they've got their big star knocked out of it.
But let's get into some of the action that we
were gonna be talking about today. I'm gonna look at
some of the games that we had yesterday. It's been
a wild ride, to say the least in college basketball. Again,
shout out to all the college basketball players out there balling.
(07:38):
I haven't seen one three point fast all season long.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
Very happy about that, Rodney Bee.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
So again, just your thoughts around some of the you
know plays that you saw during this week. We saw
Saint John yesterday come back put a hurt No Marquette.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
That was a good game.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
We also saw these gentlemen over at what was that
you got?
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Yeah, you cott, it's.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Over finished Finnish Creighton took him down. We talked about this,
Roddy b when we talk about these games and we
try to get people involved with the way the things
should be going for them. Like I said, we know
what's going on, and the reality is simple. Yukon is
not going to be the team this year. They're probably
be if they get into the tournament, first team out
(08:22):
and being.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
A national champion. So we were a little bit sad
about that. Yesterday.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
But we got some great matchups today. But go ahead,
Roddy b your thoughts and I'll pull up these rotation
of us.
Speaker 5 (08:31):
Yeah, well we're looking at yesterday. I've been having Yeah,
I'm seeing the ball real good right now, as they say,
But as we talked about in the last couple of weeks,
I'm thinking the cream is rising to the top.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
And it is.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
You get the one, two, three, four teams winning and
moving and advancing, and you got Saint John's who I
said it's still going to make the final four, just
playing good ball at the right time. So everything we've
been talking about DAB is coming to Parishion here and
I think it's going to continue.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
Yes, it is going to continue.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
And like before, we've got so many young players coming
into these conferences. You saw the kid over at Kansas State.
How sad was that? I mean, the guy wanted to
be an impact player, crying on the sideline, couldn't get
into the rotation and get the burn they needed.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
And Kansas State is out.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
So again, Ronnie B top four teams that you still
have in your tournament bracket, are they still going to
be there?
Speaker 5 (09:25):
Go ahead, Well, I believe so. I'm looking at Houston's
playing good ball right now with great defense, you know, Duke.
Hopefully if they come back with the flag, they'll be Okay.
We got what else? What was my other final for Auburn.
They're still hanging around and playing good. The old men
are still running and gunning. So I'm like I said,
(09:46):
I think my final four is still intact with an
outside the Florida is breathing hard, so it should be interesting.
But I still think it's going to be the top
five six teams in the country in the final day.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Well that is is to be taking a look at.
Got a couple of great matchup today, Tennessee Auburn and
the SEC Big ten got Wisconsin Michigan State. And we
want to talk about another team that is on the
line today because Duke is going to be playing them.
Talk about that Louisville team. Shout out to Junior Bridgeman,
Rest in peace. Junior Bridgeman, old school ball up from
(10:22):
back in the day. Showed you guys how to put
your money together. The man became a billionaire off of
the round ball Lebron James probably got some tutelage from
him as well for his business acumen. But I know, Ronnie,
you had some stories back in the day you played
high school ball against junior Bridgeman because I know you
were All Conference state player back in Indiana in your youth.
So if you want to give a little anecdote on that,
(10:43):
and then I'm still bringing up these rotation numbers, go ahead,
I tell you what.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
You're right.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
And I was very sad by that I did play
against the junior way back in the seventies and their team,
he Chuga Washington went undefeated that year. It's banked us
like one fourteen forty nine.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
At all happens to the best of us, Ronnie, go ahead.
Speaker 5 (11:05):
Uh, they what They had five starters that played from
eighth grade on and three or four Peak Turkovich went
to UCLA and played some NBA. Tim Stoddard was six
foot ten, sixty nine. He played bal for Baltimore Orioles
as a pitcher.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
So there you go.
Speaker 5 (11:21):
Athletes on that They had athletes on that team. We
didn't have a chance.
Speaker 4 (11:24):
There you go.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
It's an honor and a privilege that I got to
play against him. And yes, he was an elegant.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
Well that's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
So glad that we have those anecdotes here again. Roddy B,
very good basketball player, ended up going to Indiana back
in the day, got into the restaurant Bizz after his
playing career and found old JP. So, like I said,
we're gonna take a short commercial break because I had
him shoot me a text.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
My main man, coach Foots.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
From Silverado High School here in Las Vegas, the father
of Currell Franklin Junior. This is going to be a
young man coming out of Las Vegas Juco scene that
when he gets on your team, he's going to get
to pay.
Speaker 4 (11:59):
And if you try to play, if.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
He's got Uncle JB hanging out right here in the background,
so you might want to make sure you cut the check. Ronnie,
be any quick shout out.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
When we take this break and bring him on.
Speaker 5 (12:07):
Go ahead, Yeah, one more time. Just the Junior Bridgeman
name rest the seed. He was a gentleman, h dollar
and I'm glad I met him.
Speaker 3 (12:14):

Speaker 3 (14:58):
So man man Ronnie b is on the line with
the and I brought him back, of course, as I promise.
Serrel Franklin, senior head coach of Silverado High School out
here in Las Vegas. Former college basketball player, himself, professional
basketball player, just an all around basketball guru. Sim morning coach, fuds,
how you doing well?
Speaker 4 (15:15):
And you doing fantastic?
Speaker 3 (15:16):
I got up this morning, missed my coffee break, but
it's college basketball.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
I was up doing a lot of handicap it.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
Oh, you're on the line also with my Maine man
Ronnie be over at the Rampark Casino So I just
wanted to talk to you a little bit last night.
We know you were over at the Mountain West tournament.
You were taking a look at some games. I think
you sent me a text message you were watching Grand
Canyon play.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Somebody last night.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
And uh, I'm still pulling that up because, like I said,
I did miss my coffee. So you gotta give it.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
You gotta give an.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
Old man a little bit of time. But yeah, what
were some of the things you've seen last night in
that conference and just overall in college basketball? I mean,
have you seen that marked improvement? Like I said, I have,
the game has really improved from the player's standpoint, the
way that the players are playing the game. I'm seeing
a lot more dribbled I'm seeing a lot more mid
range game. Shout out to Paijas Stoyakovic's kid too over
(16:05):
in University of Cal up in Berkeley. This kid's gonna
be a baller man. He hasn't been getting a lot
of press, but I saw him. He took overhelped Cal
get further in that ACC tournament. But again, coach, what's
your thoughts on this? Because the concept behind where college
basketball was going a couple of years ago, people weren't
excited about it. We thought the NIL was going to
(16:25):
change things and make it more difficult for players and
young men to have success, but it seems to have
still kind of stayed the same. We're seeing some of
the main teams still be good and Duke and you know,
you know various teams around the country, but you know
some of the PAC twelve teams, you know UCLA USC,
you know, I know we had a flags and stations
in the USC, but they didn't get it done this year.
Speaker 4 (16:47):
I'm sure your son could be able to help.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
I told you I'm still making that call, but your
thoughts go ahead.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Uh, yeah, you're right. Sees could go out there. He
could make it be aga impact. He picked up a
lot of fans last night at the GCU game. We
were out there checking out GCU. They came over practice
in my gym yesterday and they'll being back at my
gym today practicing as well as shout out to Tylan
Riley and Mark Williams. Those are local kids that played
(17:17):
here in the valley. Tyland Riley played over at Durango
and Martel Williams and Silvernto Skyhawk alumni. They both played
for cal Baptist, which is a team that they played
for that played against GCU last night. He used that
player was a grad.
Speaker 4 (17:37):
Student, right, and you put a lot more of that, Yeah,
go ahead, he.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Put up twenty one last night. GCU was really stingy
off the drive. They didn't let cal Baptis score anything
in the paint till late in the game. They kept
them off balanced with their defense physicality, and it led
them to a win. But don't get me wrong, help
back this storm back late in the game. Yeah, it is.
(18:04):
They made a game of it lately in the last
three minutes, just came up short. But honestly, it wasn't
as close as it look GC. You dominated most of
that game.
Speaker 4 (18:15):
Yeah, I'm telling you.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
When you look at where Dan Marley was able to
get that program and where they're at now, it's been
a marked improvement. But let's get into today's action, being
brought to you by friends at Football TV. Don't get
cable to get FOOTBOTV. Go to footbolltv dot com, slash
JB or go to Vegas Goboard Express dot com. Click
that live link and let's get into it. Ronnie B.
I know you're still there. We're gonna jump right into it.
(18:37):
Rotation number six h nine. Going to that big ten
tournament out in the midwest, Wisconsin taking on Michigan State. Now,
this is another solid matchup. Okay, Michigan State yesterday back
to back game days. Not too sure if I like
that they were able to beat Oregon by ten. But
this is where we're getting into the meat and potatoes
of the tournament and getting ready for the field of
(18:59):
sixty four. So again going to U Ronnie B. Michigan
State back to backs. You think they got a shot
today to get that Wisconsin spread in Wisconsin's coming in
today again. Rotation number six nine the Wisconsin Badgers plus
three dog. No road game here today, Okay, it's in Indianapolis.
This is a tournament game. They're in the dog position.
Plus three plus one thirty eight money line one and
(19:23):
a half is a little bit big on the spread
for me. But Michigan State on a back to back,
we know they'll probably get put into the tournament top
five seeds. Do they care about today's game? Do they
want to win this big kid tournament or are they
just going to be tuckered out? Go ahead, Ronnie B.
Speaker 5 (19:38):
And then over to U coach welltay what they're playing
in the basketball state here in Indianapolis. So it's nice
to see the Big ten. Michigan State played a good
bowl game. I say Westcassin I had him yesterday. They
lit it up yesterday. I think they tied a record
for trees yep. And I think I think they're going
to come down a little regression today with this Michigan
(19:58):
State defense. That's number two again, the three point defense.
So I'm still sticking with is though in the Michigan
State the Spartans here, I think it'll be a good ballgame,
but I think the defense is gonna come out on top,
and I think Wisconsin won't be able to light it
up from three points today.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
So there you go.
Speaker 5 (20:15):
Let me have Michigan State minus the points.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
He likes, Michigan State minus the points, not a bat
minus three and a half.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
You're talking about Michigan State.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
But again going to that back to back now, Coach Footz,
I know that you are one of those guys who
has your players prepare for things like this. You put
them through the gauntlet, you tell them, hey, as we
get closer to the state finals, gets closer to our
state playoffs here in Nevada that you guys have got
to have the stamina and you've got to have that
mental toughness to stay in the game. And I know
coach Isao can do that for Michigan State. But you're
(20:43):
talking about a Wisconsin team yesterday again, lights out shooting.
These guys were what was it, Ronnie fifty six percent
from three? It was you know, every other shot was
going in. And you talk about a tight spread like that.
Being a three ball coach, how do you see this
one playing out? And then also the total of one
five and a half, you think both of these teams
(21:03):
can give me that eighty points to get me to
one sixty.
Speaker 4 (21:06):
I don't know about that.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
No, I'm staying away from the points. But what I
will say is that Michigan State's identity. I believe they're
shifts in the nation to spend in the three point line.
So I'm sticking with Izzoh and his brand of defense
this year. And please don't forget Michigan State. I believe
(21:27):
they got seven kids that have seven to nine kids
that average seven points or more. So I think they've
got the wherewithal to go ahead and finish it out.
Heading into the tournament.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
I definitely think so as well. You know the one
side I look at though. You got that kid Tanji
over for Wisconsin. He's a great two way player, probably
will get some looks in the second round. Gotta watch
out for him back door cutting. Okay, the kid can play.
Wisconsin actually averages two more points than Michigan State, so
it's gonna be an interesting matchup here. From the money
(22:01):
line perspective, I want to see Michigan State win this one,
but I'm looking at that total here, I'm going to
take a slight over one forty five and a half.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
I mean, you got.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
To be able to at least give me seventy to
seventy five in this type of game. When we saw
the play yesterday, Michigan State, they seem to be up
for it. Going back to that total, to you, Ronnie B,
how do you see this one shaken out? You got
a rebounding advantage from Michigan State at forty three a
game to Wisconsin's thirty nine. Sixteen to almost seventeen assist
a game for Michigan State and Wisconsin at about fifteen assists,
(22:33):
but that points per game, that three point shooting Wisconsin
giving you plus one thirty eight plus one forty five on.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
The money line.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
Is that a risk you want to take pregame or
do you want to maybe look at it in game
to make some wagers and possibly look at that total
one forty five and a half. I think it can
go over just for the three point shooting, but I
gotta see someone get close to forty points in that
first half.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
Go ahead, Ronnie Bee.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
Well, I'll tell you I'm gonna go with the aggression here.
Still with Wisconsin, they shot fifty nine percent from three.
Yes see, that's not going to happen today, And then
you said that's not gonna happen against Michigan State. GIZO
won't allow that to happen. The pace will be slower,
they won't want to run and gun with Wisconsin, who
does shoot the ball pure. But I still think that
(23:20):
they're going to be a regression. Like you said back
to back, the legs are going to be a little
tired and can't You can't shoot those threes if your
legs are a little tired. So I'm gonna play the
under here, JB. They went under the total of the
last game they met each other at about one thirty three.
I don't think it's going to increase from that. I
like the under one forty five in half.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
He likes the under one forty five and a half.
Coach Franklin, how do you see that one? Taking a
look at from a totals perspective, I tend to feel
that my bet may have been a little bit tight
here back to back. I know it's a big ten tournament.
I want to see some more energy. But Ronnie's got
a good point. They both played two great games yesterday.
Now it's just a win by one, lose by none situation,
(23:58):
tight spread, but the total could get you some money.
You think we go under one forty five today looking
at a score around sixty five, sixty eight, something like that.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Go ahead, Yeah, I'm looking at that score to come
in somewhere around seventy to around sixty five. So those
legs again, you're talking about conference tournament time. Everybody's working
hard on defense. Back to back. Michigan State's not going
to force the tempole against this team. Michigan State's going
(24:29):
to try to control the temple, make sure that they
cover that three point line. Look for a lower score
in affair I go with the under.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
He's liking the under in this game and again being
brought to you by our friends over at Fuubo TV.
Shout out my may man, Marcues just came into the
studio this morning, you know, making it happen. Normally Saturdays
were my day of sanctuary, making it jump around, but
we got some new gas coming in. We always want
KSHP to keep rocking here in Las Vegas. One O
seven point WFMA and fourteen hundred is where you can
(24:56):
find me live each and every Saturday and Sunday morning
eight am tonight and then during the week go to
my website for those exclusive specials. Let's move down to
the SEC now a big matchup. A lot of people
were telling me, they're like, JB, this is the team.
You're not showing a squad, No love. I got a
friend down in Memphis. Shout out my boy rail Man.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
He's real cold.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
No, you're not give him a stake, no love.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
I'm listening to your show man.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
You don't talk about tennesseee enough, you know to c
you know tones see, I'm like, look, you sound like
arrested development ten and feet rotation number six one three.
He got the Tennessee volunteers playing Auburn in the Southeastern
Conference Tournament. Bruce Pearl last night lighting it up on
the ESPN. Back to the old Bruce Pearl. ESPN ain't
signing my check Auburn is That's what I'm talking about,
(25:39):
dog is barking. Today you got Auburn minus five and
a half going up against an evenly matched Tennessee team.
The only reason that I like Auburn in this game
is because of Bruce Pearl. This kid, the way he
gets his kids to play, it's just phenomenal. Auburn was
always known as a football school. He's got all the
kids in the South wanted to go there and play
(25:59):
basketball a llah But Charles Barkley, guy named Joey Porter
back in the day, that's the guy was talking about.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
But when you go into it from the perspective.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
Today with Tennessee, Tennessee is that one team very similar
to Clemson that no one is talking about and nobody
wants to play. And I think that Tennessee wants to
respect today if they can beat the number one team
in the country, your top five team in the country
as it has been going, I think that Tennessee can
(26:29):
possibly get a two or three seed. I wouldn't want
to see Tennessee right now fall even further in the ranks.
They were in the top four, they're down to number
eight now, Duke after that, Auburn lost last week, and
I told you what happened. That's why you got to
listen to JB to ticket. Duke is number one, Houston
number two, Alburn number three. But Alburn's got four losses.
(26:51):
I don't think they won anymore. But Tennessee they're just
not going to be a laidout five and a half
dog in a tournament. Plus one ninety on them, honey line,
Can we pull that bet out of our pocket today
and put it on the volunteers.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
I'll start off with you, Coach Franklin.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
When you look at this spread and where you look
at Tennessee has been. They are a very consistent team.
They play one brand of basketball, pedal to the metal.
They don't stop. Okay, they keep rotating guys in, rotating
guys out. And that's gonna be a difference maker here
today because Bruce Pearl, he tends to rely more on
his starters, more on guys that can you get to
(27:27):
the league Bruce Pearl's got one, two, three, four, five,
six guys in double figures. Tennessee doesn't have that. But
if you look at the Tennessee roster, it looks like
everybody at least gets a few minutes on the floor,
and that could possibly continue to match up well with Auburn.
Speaker 4 (27:43):
With the way that they play.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
They tend to run guys down, replace him with the
better guy or guys just as good, let him get rested,
and then come back. I'm looking at an over here
one and a half. I know you guys are talking
about these back to backs, but these are two teams
that got to fight it out today. But Coach Franklin,
you get first and then over the ready be go ahead.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
Well going up last time, these two teams played well.
First off, Both of these two teams are stingy. From
behind them the art right. Tennessee only gives up twenty
seven percent, which is number one, and then right behind
them is Auburn at twenty nine percent against their opponents
from the three point line. But going off their last matchup,
(28:24):
both of them shot crummy from the three point line.
Auburn shot about fifteen percent, Tennessee shot about eighteen percent.
I just believe that Auburn got the ability to score.
They've got the ability to They got more guys that
are going to be able to get into the paint
and score against Tennessee's defense. I think that's what's going
to be the key in his drible penetration. I think
(28:45):
Auburn has the hand to be up for a hand
in that situation. So I would go with Auburn in
the points.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
He's like an Auburn in the points today minus five
and a half. Again, these single digit hook favorite that
are getting you these small spreads. It has been kind
of valuable to bet the favorite of the past couple
of weeks. Okay, money line hasn't been that expensive. But
when you shift over to where Tennessee is at, if
(29:12):
you look at the true spread of Tennessee, they'd score
total of seventy four points a game.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
Auburn averages eighty four points a game.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
So that tells me right now, the bookmakers just did
some crazy little man and said, look, let's cut the
true spread in half. And the reason I think they
did that though, it's not just for wan time. You
got the rebounds for Auburn and Tennessee exactly the same,
and the assists for Auburn and Tennessee exactly the same.
So it's really who can get buckets and that goes
over to you, Rannie b which team you think will
(29:40):
be able to get a few more buckets Today it
looks like Auburn can do it with their average, but
Tennessee has been known to fight and scratch and claw
their way back into some games that they can look
like they were getting blown out of. But when you
look at that spread, this is where things get a
little shaky. The true spread is ten, the line spread
is five and a half Auburn. You want this, You
(30:00):
want to buy it up to the true spread.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
Maybe make some more.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
Money pushing Auburn up that line to ten give you
some more money, some more value.
Speaker 4 (30:08):
Or you go with Tennessee.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
Take away some of that money line value, push it
up to ten, and give yourself a bigger cushion.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
How do you like this? When Ronnie go Ahead thought.
Speaker 5 (30:16):
That, well, this is going to be a very competitive game,
but I still think mister coach Pearl is going to
come out on top today. I don't like the line,
I don't like the side. I think Auburn will wounds,
but that five and a half. That hook scares me
with that five and a half. So I'm not interested
in that. But I do really really like the total here,
and I'm playing it myself. I'm playing there under in
(30:39):
this game. I think that fifty three fifty three fifty
one score last game is going to show up again today. We're,
like you said, we're talking back to back. We're talking title,
we're talking conference championship, and they both want it. And
I think here's what once that I like here. That
is why I'm leaning to the under. The pace of
the game. Tennessee ranks three hundred twenty sixth in pace exactly.
(31:02):
That's only about that's only about twenty five teams, but
up from the bottom so and Auburn runs at about
one forty seven. So I think the pace of the
game is gonna be slow. I think they're gonna use
the shot clock on every possession, and that's gonna take
away you know, how many times you're gonna put the
ball up in the air. So I'm playing the under.
I really like the one forty and a half. I
(31:22):
think that's gonna be the way to go.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
He likes the under in this one, Coach Franklin, you
talk about these Tennessee volunteers trying to get some respect,
falling out of the top five rankings, still in the
top ten. You got a Texas Tech team at twenty
four and seven at number nine right now that no
one is talking about.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
I don't even know if they're still in their tournament.
Speaker 3 (31:40):
But the reality here is Tennessee is the play that
a lot of sharps have been making. I've been talking
to some guys here because they feel that Bruce Pearl
wants to get his guys in the big dance and
not so much focus on the SEC tournament. And the
reason why I say that is the Cooper Flag injury.
So when you look at it from that perspective, do
you think that some of these big time schools that
(32:02):
have the good records, let's say the top five schools Duke, Houston, Auburn, Florida, Alabama,
are going to hold out some of their top players
and see what they can do with the rest of
the guys in the conference tournament. Because I'm telling you
that Cooper Flag things got everybody spooked. Go ahead, Coach Franklin,
and then we'll get ready for the more pick and
(32:23):
go to break, go ahead.
Speaker 11 (32:24):
I watched a couple a couple of days ago. GCU
held out their Urns for a good portion of the game.
They came back to bite them in the butt.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
They they they went on to do well so far
in their conference tournament. But I think a lot of
guys like Bruce Furrow are competitive. They want to win,
They want to carry that momentum going into the tournament.
They know that injuries come along with the game.
Speaker 11 (32:54):
And you know, when you don't have a two million
dollars a year nil player on your team, it's a
little bit different.
Speaker 4 (33:01):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
I think that he's gonna go ahead and play as
guys and show everybody what they're about.
Speaker 4 (33:07):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
So you're liking Auburn minus the five or you're going
to go with that Tennessee because the volunteers are probably
gonna get sacrificed today.
Speaker 4 (33:15):
But we'll take a look. Go ahead, I'm.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
Going with Auburn's show. I'm sticking with Auburn.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
Sticking with Auburn. That's right, Coach Franklin. I'm glad to
have you on the line. You're gonna be here with
us for the rest of the show. Give a quick
shout out to some of your guys. We're gonna go

Speaker 1 (33:54):

to get his guys out of there. Includes DJ. We
went over last night, Like I said, we watched that
GCU cal Baptist game. His guy Tyler Riley went out there.
I think he was the leading scorer for cal Baptis.
(34:16):
And again my guy over there, Marcel Williams. We also
watched the Utah Utah Valley State game and we had
another local kid that played in that game. Osaras Grady,
Osaras Grady shout out, keep working hard.

(37:59):
Go board exp Waking you back up early this morning,
talking about this college basketball tournament weekend here Saturday, all
hoops Saturday, making it happen here for you. Quit recap
we gave you Michigan State over Wisconsin. These guys are
liking the Michigan State Wolverines. I haven't quite gotten it
locked and loaded for you yet on that one.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
I still might be looking at Wisconsin.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
I'll tell you at the end, Tennessee Volunteers, everybody's going
with Auburn here.
Speaker 4 (38:23):
I like Auburn as well. They're priced well.
Speaker 3 (38:25):
I buy them down to maybe a minus three to
give you something to make it super duper easy for
you so you don't got to worry about trying to
maybe get a spread in case the game gets tight.
But this is the game that I've got circled on
my list today, guys. This is the big one back
in the sec rotation number six, one five, the Alabama
Crimson tie. Yeah, these guys are making some resurgence, still
(38:47):
putting the ball in the basket. But they're playing another
quiet team. And I think this is the quietest team
in the country because when I look and I go
to the sports books and I ask people, who do
you like in your top four? I'm here in Duke,
I'm here in Houston, I'm here in Auburn. I'm hearing Alabama.
I'm here in Saint John's. But I'm not hearing my
boys down in Florida. Not in Florida, Taters. I didn't
tell you. I didn't tell you one time four we
(39:10):
could have had Cooper flag. But you know they they
went and they went and went did it?
Speaker 4 (39:13):
You know they didn't do the right Thanks.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
But Florida number four team in the country, twenty seven
and four. This is a matchup where if you say
to yourself, I may want to bet a dog.
Speaker 4 (39:25):
I think this is where you got to take a
look at betting the dog.
Speaker 1 (39:28):
Here.
Speaker 3 (39:28):
You got Alabama at plus three and a half. You
got Florida at three and a half. On the other side,
there can be no game that's priced tighter today. The
biggest total by far, we will see it one seventy
six and a half Alabama giving you plus one point
thirty eight. But I think that Florida should be in
the dog position here. Okay, so minus three and a
half minus won sixty. This may be one of those
(39:51):
games where I say, if you play your math and
hope for your lucky stars, you might be able to
bet both sides.
Speaker 4 (39:56):
Ronnie b I'll start off with you.
Speaker 3 (39:57):
You got Florida minus three and a half coming in
against an alley Obama team that has found their sea legs.
They're putting the ball back in the basket. They got
that big win last week over Auburn. Like I said,
they're riding high off that. But in the tournament you
have to look at it from this perspective of who
wants more respect, and I think Florida wants more respect.
I think Florida wants to get their name out there
and say, hey, nobody's talking about Chomp, but we're still
(40:21):
alligators running off in those ponds.
Speaker 4 (40:22):
Go ahead, Yeah, I agree with you.
Speaker 5 (40:25):
As as we open the show, I said, Florida's rising
and climbing here. They're outside in my top four in
the final four, but they're right at the door at
number five for me. So I think today they're going
to show Alabama that they're the real deal. I think
Alabama's playing good ball, but I think right now Florida's
playing a little better ball, especially on the inside. On
the defense. The rating is twenty first in the country
(40:49):
for Florida one hundred and seventy seven for Bama. So
I think that's going to be a big discrepancy today
on the defensive side. Florida's good on the boards underneath,
and I think they can score inside and out. Where
the difference to me with Bama is they're more of
an outside shooting team, and I think that might catch
him today. I'm gonna lean towards Florida and lay the points.
Speaker 3 (41:08):
He's leaning towards Florida. He wants to put cash in
your pocket. Coach Franklin, When you talk about teams, and
I know you're laughing because we talked about this, why
is nobody talking about Florida. Is it has something to
do with in the water. I mean, the Gators are
a team right now. If I looked on my schedule
and every time I see Florida, I'm like, yeah, just
(41:30):
go ahead and bet them and go to sleep.
Speaker 4 (41:31):
But if I'm a head coach today and.
Speaker 3 (41:33):
I'm Alabama and I'm trying to win the SEC Tournament
to guarantee my team a number one seed in the
Big Dance, and I got Florida here today, are we
just gonna pack it in and let the Gators do
the Gator walk chump Because I don't see Florida.
Speaker 4 (41:47):
I honestly think this game will go over. But I
think Florida.
Speaker 3 (41:51):
Knowing that Alabama likes to get out and shoot that three,
I think they may focus on defense in the first half.
And if Florida focuses on defense in the first half,
Alabama from a point totally average seven more points than Florida. Okay,
seven more points than Florida. Florida is in the favored position.
(42:13):
That's why I said they should be a dog.
Speaker 4 (42:14):
I look at the math.
Speaker 3 (42:15):
You got Florida with slightly less rebounds than Alabama at
forty five to forty seven. The assist are the same.
The point getting, though, is a stark difference. Alabama is
a dog today, that is clearly barking. But Florida is
in the wrong position. Coach Franklin, how do we get
this one straight?
Speaker 1 (42:33):
Now? Well, you have to keep in mind the last
four match ups between these two teams has cashed out
with the over right. So, knowing that these two teams
play the way that they do, Florida's not going to
get up and down, Alabama's gonna get up and down.
They're both close to full strength.
Speaker 4 (42:51):
Now.
Speaker 1 (42:53):
Both had a couple of guys that were out for
a bed or a plan with injuries. Those injuries have
healed up going into the tournament. Now, for me, the
only way I can look at this game is the
over Uh. They're both feedable when they're playing each other, Right,
they're gonna type of flow. Uh, it's gonna come down
(43:13):
to what happens in the last two minutes of this
ball game. Yes, but for the duration of the game,
you're looking at an NBA type of flow. They're gonna
get it out the rim and go that's all. Is it?
Speaker 4 (43:26):
Yep?
Speaker 1 (43:28):
That total?
Speaker 3 (43:28):
You like it?
Speaker 4 (43:29):
You like it the open ends.
Speaker 3 (43:31):
It does because Florida, when you talk about the h
the point guard Clayton Junior, his average about seventeen points
a game. Nobody talks about the fact that he is
averages close to five points five assists a game. So
that's gonna give it anywhere between ten to fifteen extra points.
If you understand how assists work in basketball, A person
who gives me assists, that's extra points. So you've got
(43:53):
a guy essentially right now being worth thirty points on
the floor. The only player that's comparable for Alabet is
Mark Sears. He's healthy, but you know they're going to
be double teaming him and Sears trying to work him
down in the paint off the wing. Ronnie, be your
thoughts on this game. Like you said, you like Florida,
how they're coming in. Coach likes the over. I'm looking
(44:14):
at Alabama here. I might do a switcher route. I
might make the Florida Gators the dog here. Play some
second half, play some in game play. This is the
most interesting matchup on the lineup today. Ronnie, be your
thoughts on the total, and then we'll get to these
last two games.
Speaker 4 (44:28):
Are getting our best plays out?
Speaker 5 (44:29):
Go ahead, Yeah, the total. I can't disagree with anybody here.
You can't bet the under with these two teams. I
just don't see if the pace is going to be
there a little bit. The difference I like with Florida
is I think there's a couple turnover differences with Obama
versus Florida, So one or two possessions is a big
deal in this type of game. But I do believe
(44:50):
Florida on the inside with the boards is going to
be the difference. I think they'll stop Series coming driving.
He likes to drive with his left hand here, and
I think they'll.
Speaker 4 (44:58):
Stop him exactly.
Speaker 3 (45:01):
Look, that's how we're gonna make it happen looking at
the over end this game.
Speaker 4 (45:04):
If you want these picks.
Speaker 3 (45:05):
They'll be up on Capertech in about twenty minutes after
we get off the show, and you can always pick
up my pick packages from Capertech. You know, you guys
are gonna have to start paying for this next season.
We're going back to the old way. The show is again.
Shout out my may Man pop Debiassi in Heaven. We
dedicated this show, or this year's show to him. And
you know the fact that he used to give out,
you know, talking tickets every day his show that I
(45:27):
miss so dearly seeing on the internet. Independent sports produced
content is where I like to be. And if you
guys are out there producing content, I want to get
some bells and whistles on it. Reach out to me
over here at VSX. So let's talk about two more
games that we got on the line today that a
lot of people have been going JB.
Speaker 4 (45:44):
Which way is this one gonna go?
Speaker 3 (45:45):
Rotation number six twenty one the Arizona Wildcats taking on
the Houston Cougar's rotation number six twenty two. It's gonna
be a cat fight, that's right, you guys know, I
love of those cat fights, and the reality here is
you've got two teams that I think are completely evenly matched,
except in one arena Houston. Houston plays keep away. They
(46:06):
don't let you score, They keep the game low, They
tire you out just running around chasing them around for
the entire shot clock, and they're beating you with's averaging
less than seventy five points a game. Another matchup where
you've got a dog averaging more points than the favorite.
Houston is averaging seventy four, Arizona averaging eighty two. Arizona
(46:26):
has more rebounds, Arizona gets more assists. However, Houston plays
that coo lock you down, put you in solitary, no food,
no call, no visitor defense. But we're talking about the
tournament here, and in the points, Arizona has an eight
point advantage of these guys on the average. Coach Franklin,
(46:47):
your thoughts on this is this gonna be one of
those games where we see Kelvin Sampson's defense get tested
by a team that says we're gonna play offense no
matter what go ahead.
Speaker 1 (46:58):
Yes, Calvin defense will be tested, but I think they'll
they have the answers for the test. Uh, shout out
to another Vegas local kid using he played over at
Desert Pines. He's out there making his mark with the
Houston Cougars. I feel that Houston's gonna be more physical
(47:19):
than Arizona is gonna be expecting, and they're gonna take
this thing and they're gonna finish it out. I believe
that again, they're gonna be a lower point total based
on the fact that Sampson's not gonna he's gonna play efficient.
He's gonna make sure that they move the ball and
they're gonna get the points and brain that shot clock.
There you go.
Speaker 3 (47:39):
One thirty five is the total. You know, Houston's getting
these low totals. It's been a theme on my show.
It's been a theme with them all season. Ronnie p
can the Houston Cougars lock down the Arizona Wildcat today.
I don't see it. I don't know. I would like
for it to happen. Defense is one of my favorite things.
You guys know, I played defense a lot when I
played ball in high school. I was the theft masteris
gotta pick those pots? Yes, I think you can dribbles?
(48:01):
Want to embarrass me? I got a seven foot wingspan.
I'll stand away from you and snatch it. Arizona's got
to hit the jump shot today. They've got Love, Bradley
and Lewis to go over to Houston. They've got Crier, Sharp, Ouzon,
and Roberts all in double figures, but they average less
points a game, and that's because Arizona rotates in a
much more I guess you could say athletic round of guys,
(48:25):
but they're focused more on offense. This offense defensive matchup,
Ronnie B how do you see it?
Speaker 4 (48:29):
Match up?
Speaker 3 (48:30):
We got about two minutes left, we got one more
play and then our best plays of the today go ahead.
Speaker 5 (48:35):
Well, as I've been saying prior to this tournament as
what's for the points this year? Take the point because
this is gonna be a battle that the cream is rising.
I still think Houston will win this game today, but
I watched it. Arizona play yesterday against Texas Tech. They
played good. Camas doesn't the smoothest butter Scus in that jumper.
I think he's gonna do it again today, So I
think Houston will win, but I take the point. Seven
(48:56):
is a lot of points there.
Speaker 3 (48:58):
You go take that dog over in Arizon coach Franklin
on that total one thirty five. Can Arizona put some
buckets in your pocket today? Can they tell Houston, Look,
we're gonna get our fans that over.
Speaker 4 (49:11):
You're gonna have to play offense or you're gonna go home.
Speaker 3 (49:13):
And we know you're number one in the country right now, Houston,
but the reality is simple in this tournament, number one
defense versus an offense that never sleeps, never stops. They
got Elijah Arenas coming in. Shout out Gilbert Arenas, agent zero,
no chill. Gil been a part of the Fubo family
since the inception, so I'm giving them a shout out here.
(49:34):
But they got some firepower coming in next year from
those freshman dandies. I like Arizona here today, give me
the points. I know Houston plays defense, but they don't
play any sort of offense here, and I like for
Arizona to push them to their limit. Guys, thank you
so much for coming on the show this morning. It
has been eventful. Look at that an hour, I didn't
even need my coffee because talking is coffee for me.
(49:55):
And I'd like you guys to continue to listen to
our show. Thank you so much for tuning in this morning.
Right here on KSAHP fourteen hundred, you've heard the cash
register go off all the time, because when you hear
Jdal on the line, I'm giving you picks that play
final game. We got guys a minute left and then
we're gonna go to our best place. Creighton Saint John's.
This is the battle of the Big East. Rotation number
six twenty five. Creighton took down yukon last night and
(50:17):
an eventful win led that very late in the game,
getting you that plus two to sixteen. But you got
Saint John's coming in today looking to maybe do some
more magic. Minus seven for Saint John's, I'm not sure
I'm a big fan of that. Taking a look at it.
Rotation number six twenty five, Creighton, these are some guys
that played some good ball last night. Plus six and
a half is where they're at again. Now we're giving
(50:38):
you plus two fifty three Saint John's. After that short debacle,
came back and blew out Marquette. How do you guys
see it? Thirty seconds a piece, Coach Franklin again, thank
you so much.
Speaker 4 (50:47):
Saint John's.
Speaker 3 (50:47):
Can they get it done again today or it's Creighton,
gonna show him something.
Speaker 1 (50:51):
Thanks, Johnson's himsy. Thanks. Johnson's gonna lock down that Creighton offense.
That offense for Creighton's is ranked. I think it's like
fifty to fifty six for that at the bottom half.
Speaker 12 (51:05):
Oh well, they showed some offensive firepower last night against
the Yukon team that apparently is gonna have every one
of their players transfer even after winning the nil.
Speaker 3 (51:16):
You know, some folks just saying they're too grateful. Quick coach,
thank you so much for coming on the show today,
Ronnie B. Your quick thoughts of that Saint John's Creighton game.
Speaker 4 (51:25):
They will go around the board with our best players.
Speaker 5 (51:26):
Go ahead, I'll tell you what Saint John's in my
final four and they're gonna show wife today. They're gonna
lock down that's creaking team. He's the league today, number
three defense. Take Saint John's lay the point.
Speaker 3 (51:37):
There you go like in Saint John's laying the points.
Best players of today, Ronnie B. Then we got to
get out of here.
Speaker 4 (51:40):
A minute left.
Speaker 5 (51:41):
Go ahead, I'm gonna take Maryland over Michigan today. Michigan
played power ball yesterday, but Maryland is rolling right now.
Those freshmen are six months older. Give me Maryland minus
the point.
Speaker 3 (51:52):
And there you go. Coach Franklin. Again, thank you so much.
We got to link up again today. I know you're
working with the college teams here in town. What's your
best player today?
Speaker 1 (51:58):
My friend, go ahead, I'm going with Utah Valley State
over my guys, go tonight just for.
Speaker 11 (52:08):
Utah Valley State is gonna surprise everybody. Those two teams
are evenly matched. They're gonna create some havoc on defense.
Speaker 3 (52:15):
Yes, Utah Valley State going up against Grand Canyon. Love
to see it in the Western Athletic Conference. And that's
a rap, guys. My best player of to day, I'm
gonna hold my nose and say it. I'm going with Florida.
I'm going with Florida. I know Alabama, you know, should
win this game.
Speaker 4 (52:31):
It's a dogfight. I'm buying Florida to the talk position.
And that's a rap. Guys.
Speaker 3 (52:35):
Again, thank you so much for tuning into Vegas. Go
Board Express. We'll be back tomorrow morning. And with that
being said, you know what we gotta do, guys, say
it all together with me, Ronnie B. Coach Franklin. Let's
go get some.
Speaker 7 (52:46):
Money, Bill, tell me Vega scoring one hundred points a win.
Speaker 3 (53:01):
Celtics would give it you that degree.
Speaker 7 (53:04):
If nobody no kind of fact, my wins, Doctor J
shook the whole damn team, which rules that team rights
out of.
Speaker 3 (53:10):
The dream and win real estate.
Speaker 1 (53:12):
Stood so f
