Speaker 1 (00:00):
Talk radio. Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello guys. It's so good
to be here and to be able to spend some
time with you guys again as always, and today we're

(00:24):
not just gonna talk breathwork. We're gonna slide that in
there a little bit, but we're gonna talk today a
little bit about relaxation. And my question is relax Why not?
It is so good for you, It is life changing.

(00:44):
Relaxation is a very powerful tool to combat the stress
of your day to day or just stress and anxiety
and life, those things that makes you anxious or those
things that stress you out. So we're going to talk
about that today. But first I'm on you go ahead
and hit that follow button so you can follow me
here and be present with me here on the radio

(01:07):
broadcast and just spend time learning about taking care of yourself,
having that self care, allowing your breath to change your life,
allowing your ability to step back and take that purposeful
pause and just gather yourself, figure out where you are

(01:30):
in your mind and your emotions before you step back
into the reality of your day to day. Just taking
that step back. Always say take five minutes, five minutes
of step back time time for you time for you
to refresh and then continue on with your day to day.

(01:52):
So we're going to talk about this powerful and this
powerful tool called relaxation. So many times we allow ourselves
to be so bombarded by the cares of life and
the duties and the things in life that we must do,
that we have to do, and we don't take that
time to step back and do that one most important

(02:14):
thing that we must do, we have to do, we
need to do, and that is to step back and
take a moment just for yourself to gather yourself, regroup, restart,
you know. And that's what taken that rest time, that break,
that take that breath will do for you. It will

(02:36):
give you a restart, a refresh, maybe in the middle
of your day when you've been bombarded with so much work,
or just the cares of life, or how noise is
you know, so many things that bombard us throughout the day.
You can take that purposeful call, step back, relax for

(02:57):
a few moments, and then start again, and they'll change
your life. It's a very important part of self care itself.
And we really need to take that self care thing
that we've been talking about so much lately. We need
to take it seriously. But sometimes we come and come
away from RESTful things, RESTful activities like just stepping back

(03:22):
and and just having a cup of tea, or starting
our day with just a cup of tea, and or
taking a break, you know, at your desk and just
taking a deep breath and just maybe close your eyes
for a moment, you know, and just breathe, you know,
take taking a walk, taking that walk just to calm

(03:45):
yourself or to you know, calm your minds. And this
is because we don't realize that there's there is such
an important reason why we need to do this. And
one of the reasons is because taking that person's purposeful

(04:07):
cause will cause you to make better decisions. It'll cause
you to be able to control the level of stress
that you deal with throughout the day. It'll it'll cause
you to be able to better, you know, communicate. It'll
cause you to be able to respond better when it
comes to making decisions or or something's come at you

(04:30):
that unexpectedly, or someone's you know, come at you in
a manner that you really could respond in a negative way.
It'll help you not to do that negative thing. Okay,
so let's talk about we're going to talk about two
different types of relaxation. Purposeful relaxation. We're going to talk

(04:55):
about that purposeful relaxation of different from what you've heard,
you know, passive relaxation. We're going to talk about those
two differences. Well, I think we need to know the
difference that purposeful relaxation is a form of restorative self
care and that focuses on you're focusing on slowing down.

(05:20):
You know, you're slowing down the body's stress response, as
we were talking about earlier. You're not quick to react,
but you respond in a more calm way. And that
key element of this type of relaxation, purposeful, purposeful relaxation.
I love that. I love slowing down, taking a step back,

(05:46):
thinking things through being in the moment and connecting with
your mind and your body. It gives you a sense
of self control. And it is an active form of
relaxation and can be far more physically, far more physically

(06:06):
and psychologically restored. It can be such a tool to
just restore and it's more of a restorative type of
relaxation and path and you know the passive approach, and

(06:28):
you know, so I try every day to engage in
purposeful relaxation. And I really really really talk that thing
up to my to my to my clients and my students.
You know, I talk it up because it's so important
and as a life changer, game changer, it really is.

(06:52):
So it's important that you understand the difference between passive
relaxation and purposeful relaxation. For some people, passive relaxation might
be watching TV. You know, you maybe stretch out on
your bed or on your couch, you know, playing a
video game, taking a nap, you know, and that could be,

(07:14):
you know, your form of relaxation. But that is passive,
you know, and and it's and it's it's it's okay,
it's it's a much needed form of relaxation. It's something
that you need to do to take that time to
do those fun relaxing things. That's good and that can
give your you know, your physical body rest. You know,

(07:34):
you come in tie it from work and you just
want to relax on the couch and watch TV. That's great.
You may want to play a game to just kind
of you know, bring yourself down from the day to
day activities that you had to do at work or
whatever you have to do throughout the day, and I say, okay,
but if passive relaxation, if it doesn't bring you a

(07:58):
sense of satisfaction or a restaurant. You know, if what
you're doing is something I'm just gonna fit out our TV,
have long day, you know, it may be because that
form of relaxation, passive relaxation that you're doing is it's
more maybe it's distracting instead of relaxing. You understand what

(08:21):
I'm saying. I hope you do. So we want to
focus on the purposeful relaxation. So I just want to
throw that. I just wanted to throw that out there,
the two different types of relaxation. And my focus is
to get you to understand that it's so important to

(08:42):
take that purposeful relaxation which bring in mindfulness, being mindful
of your moment to moment, living in the moment and
not living over the next week or even the next hour,
but you know, being mindful of your every moment and
living in the moment and making the best of all

(09:04):
each moment, making the best of it, making the best
of each moment. So what I'm encouraging you to do today,
I'm going to challenge you. I'm going to challenge you
to five minutes, as I always do a day, take

(09:28):
some time to have a purposeful pause and purposely relax, breathe,
just step away from everything, go ahead right now where
you are. Also when you're sitting in a quiet spot
where no one can disturb you, when you can be

(09:48):
totally relaxed and totally just let go. And I want
you to just take a deep breath, breathe in deeply
through your nose, and accel through your mouth. It is
really strong. One more time, aim through your nose, out

(10:11):
through your mouth, one more time, really strong, deep breath
then and really strong asigh exhlp out strong, awesome. I
just want you to understand that how you're feeling right now,

(10:33):
probably pretty calm, probably feeling really good. Just those few
deep breaths. You can have that pause every single day.
You can experience that every single day, and I want
you to do that. I want you to purpose in
your mind that you're going to take that purposeful pause

(10:57):
at least once a day, And the more you do it,
the more you will increase in doing so. Just be
mindful of each moment. We'll live in the moment, and
one time it will totally change your life. Trust me,
it's a game changer and I want to hear about it.
Go ahead and send comments and let me know how

(11:23):
taking that purposeful pause made a difference in your day
to day. Until next time, guys, have a wonderful day.
It's been great being with you so long.
