Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, good morning, everybody. Welcome into the locker room with myself.
Will Compton. Don't laugh right now, dude, and John definitely
not you. Josh don't do it. You're much more professional
than that. And the Commissioner of College Football Josh pay
is week twelve in the college football season. Today, we're
talking Utah Baylor. Guys, it was a big twelve game there,

(00:20):
Iowa going to usc LA. We'll talk about that roster.
How they've never even seen that couple life before, Notre
Dame Pitt Oh you at Bama and then Texas at
Georgia last week. We called it separation Sunday. I guess
you could say we had that a little bit myself
three and two injured or not. We're picking games correctly
at this point. Will Compton one in four. My foot

(00:43):
doesn't work, his brain doesn't work. Together, we make a
full human being. And Josh Paid is the king. We
had that guy up there in October. He was mister
six and a half. Josh Paid is mister two and three.
He has done that five weeks in a row. Say
what you want about him. He is consistent. Am I
play injured today? Yes? Is it gout? No? Is it
because of gout most likely. Yes, that doesn't matter. My

(01:05):
pain doesn't matter. What matters to me is that you
subscribe to this show.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
You've enjoyed it.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Down, All right, good morning or good evening, Welcome to

(01:48):

That's right now. If you open up the FANDOL Sportsbook
app Saturday, you're gonna see some college football lines. You'll
see a little football, a college football parlay from yours truly,
and you'll see our Boost with the Boys profit Boost Token.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
I'm telling you right now, boys, go claim that token, and.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
I'll give you a little example of what happens when
you claim the token, because this gentleman, this sweet, smart,
genius gentleman, just walked away with three thousand dollars. If
you're cooking up a fourteen leg parlay.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Card popper, we got a fourteen leg parlay at plus
sixty two thousand, five hundred and thirty seven odds. He
put five dollars and thirty sets on it and one
thirty two and eighty eight dollars and forty cents. Nine
picks were money line picks. The other five picks were
against the spread. Again, just visit the FANDOL Sportsbook Gap,
opt into our Booster with the Boys profit Boost token

(02:57):
and make yourself a nice little parlay. You can keep
it calm, you can go wild. Just make sure you
boost with our profit Boost token.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Josh uh, I know we're not on this part of
the show at all, but I see your weekly parlay.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Yeah, I can't believe that's that's a huge up.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Could have gone Northwestern, but with parlay the weekly probably
we'll talk about the end of the show.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
I just peaked at the card of where we were
all sitting, and I was like, oh, this is Oh
he's got he's got it.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
The Purple team. No, okay, but could have, could have,
could but won't do that.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
What you're saying is your computer thing. He likes it.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Yeah, likes Northwestern the like just kids. Just keeps liking
Michigan to win, Dog to cover. It's been on a roll.
It's got Michigan pretty well nailed. Now it will not have.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Michigan Michigan to win Northwestern to cover.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Yeah, because of just like a head against Purdue. And
then you push back on me, and I said, follow me, that.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Is a textbook. I was not wrong. The players were.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Well, they did screw up. They did my favorite, yeah favor.
The common misconception the players don't always screw up against you.
It's just when they screw up in your favor, you
had a little something to do with it.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
And if I'm the players and I'm digesting both of
these shows, obviously they've been bustling with the boys. Man,
But I'm sure with the they see the Pate State
Freight trained team moving, they are the acron The acronym
is that what it is, and the fact that you
guys might be at five hundred thousand subscribers by Thanksgiving,
That's what some are saying. Some are saying that, like
I would kind of want to get on that train,
and so I think they kind of threw your bone

(04:26):
there this week, though I definitely believe Michigan is going to.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Cover there was somebody not throwing you a bone over
the weekend having fun online?

Speaker 2 (04:33):
That does that profile ring a bell? Oh my goodness, Well,
I guess we have to speak about him in past tense. Yeah,
he's dead. I don't I didn't play football, but he
doesn't play Twitter anymore, so he's not having fun on Did.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
You see no I saw? Did you see somebody try
to come after a boy? I did see somebody try
to come after a boy? And I keep saying the
name Brandon Walker, but no one's really responding.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
So it's anyone ever responded to the name Branda Walker?
Mississippi State doesn't. Yeah, there there was somebody. Can I
read this? May I read this out? And this is
actually Josh Pate's new introduction. The problem with Josh Pate
is he has zero real pedigree. Even the smallest remote

(05:13):
achievement is absent. Didn't play college football, didn't work as
a coacher administrator in college football, didn't cut his chops
building sources and getting scoops and writing about college football.
Mind you, all of.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
These, all these statements have exclamation points behind him.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
This dude is fired up.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Hey so far level of truth?

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Right, didn't sit.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
Didn't sit through production meetings with coaches and players to
broadcast college football.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
That you're to look for?

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Four Just a bald guy with a white T shirt
and a microphone who likes the most rudimentary aspects of
the game.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Guy went seven for seven. Yew, Will I ever make it? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (05:55):
You want to know where this guy is now? He's
probably six feet under in a ditch somewhere in Georgia. Yeah,
by that haunted house he was talking about way back
when when we used to go with his friends and
try to scare each other with it.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Yeah, yeah, the Korean house. Hey, think about this. The
guy didn't even have his real name or face, and
it still got so hot for him he had to
bail on Twitter. It's still got too hot.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
He started off with going private and then next thing
you know, I get word, Oh, he's done. The profile
no longer exists, and the profile was having fun online blue.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
He bought a blue check mark and everything.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Yeah, I got stated was this Josh page? Did you
do this yourself?

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Friday? So the state folks came after him all day
and all he did was go private. But then reinforcements
show up about twenty hours later. The ratio is coming
for him so hot. Yeah, he had to get out
of it right about sundown. You know, it's like I'm
George Bush and someone leans in and goes, sir, comptent.
Reinforcements have arrived, and once that response goes up, Yeah,

(06:53):
our boy, Yeah, he's the zodiac is Yeah, yeah, yeah,
Teas and p Should we have a moment of silence?

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Absolutely? God speed having fun online. I hope he's heaving
for everybody. Everybody.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
The internet game is not for everybody. Taylor. Just going
wide and seeing your boot is hilarious.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Yeah. Do we even want to talk about that or
should we just move on?

Speaker 2 (07:21):
We almost lost another soldier. Yeah, over the weekend.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
I'll be honest, for the last fourteen days've been fighting
for my life, just quietly suffering in front of you
guys while trying to give the people contents. I miss
the days of freely walking. That's what I miss, you know,
Like a healthy man wants a bunch of things, a
sick man just wants one thing. Yeah, I'm the sick man.
I just want to I want to. I want two
feet that work. I want to be able to walk
around this earth again like I used to.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
So is there another as a pro bowler? Did you
know that that?

Speaker 1 (07:48):
You know, I was like one of the best offensive
linemen in the NFL for a little bit. The image
just look at me, just seeking my boy, I'm slowly
just becoming a pedestrian.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Man.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
No, I'm past that, dude. Pedestrians look down on me.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
A statistic.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
I'm a statistic, statistic like you say it, like that
statistic because I think I'm becoming.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
One, becoming a NARP.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Yeah, non athlete, regular person. We called those muggles in Michigan.
But yeah, yeah, dude, it's it's been hell. I had gout.
I will say, like, I fought valiantly, and it's weird
to like pat yourself on the back with that. But
I started to get gout right before one of the
best days of the year, Halloween. Trigger cheat with my
kids met up with Will Will Goes. I didn't even know.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
You were dealing with it. You didn't even sell it right.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
I was just quietly limping by myself, always yeah, just
being with my kids, and we walked that fucking neighborhood
man when down came back. By the time we had
done with a walk, I'm hurting, dude. That whole weekend
I'm laid up. Is it bad? I don't know, Like
I get to watch football the whole time. So it
kind of worked out for me, and every time I
put it up, it felt great. Starts to get a
little bit better and better and better. This Monday is

(08:59):
when I took a turn and I was like, oh,
I think I'm finally getting back to me. Hit myself
a little workout. Tuesday, hit a workout, and then sometime
yesterday I get home. I'm walking around a little bit
and playing with the kids, and my foot just starts
to really hurt. And it's like, yeah, whatever, do we've
been here before? This is not too bad. Go put
my kids asleep. It's by the time my kids are

(09:20):
asleep in bed and I'm walking down to my room,
I am in so much pain. I'm like grabbing onto
the handrailing, like going down the stairs doing the one
foot gathered to my bad foot, one foot gathered my
back foot. I said, there with my wife. Finished season
one of land Man Incredible Body, and have you seen it?

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Not only have I seen it? I spoke to the
guy Saturday who the show is based on, who is
loosely Cody Campbell at Texas Tech or Monty in the
show John Hamm continue season two, that's awesome.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
We will follow up on that. Finish that. And we're
laying in bed and my foot is in so much pain.
The dition in the gout and this is the gout
I would be able to put up. And I only
get to a position We're like, oh, I can fall asleep,
there's no pain here. I was in so much pain lesson.
I looked at my wife. I go, hey, I hate this.
I think I'm gonna go to the hospital, like and
just figure out like this foot's broken or something. Go

(10:10):
to the hospital and there until three am. Listen to
the entire week was it eleven twelve week twelve predictions
from Josh Pate. Realize that like twelve o two, twelve
oh three, Like holy shit, Scotty just turned one. So
I got some good things out of the way that
easily I could have forgotten about, especially the birthday. I
mean that is textbook me to forget something like that.

(10:30):
So some good things came out of it. Bad news.
I think they think I tore ligaments in my foot
because of walking with such a swollen foot. I was
putting so much pressure in areas that they're usually is
in pressure, and some of these ligaments torn. So we
talk in surgery, buddy, if I have to have surgery
because a gal like put old yell or me, take
me outside, talk real nice to me where my heart

(10:52):
rate finally gets down to like a relaxed pace and
pull the trigger. That would be awful. So I don't
know yet. Long story short. Here I am five hours
of sleep. I'm in a boot crutches get out. I
see you. You kind of do this in your cars.
You're on a conference call with Lane Lane Kiffin. I
just hear it will go oh, I'm going him, I'm dad.

(11:13):
I just think where else would you rather be the
one just getting out of the car.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
He's handing like crutches like.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
I see like slowly. My boys are just watching.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
And you lean you forgot to tell me what you
leaned on the car until the crutches were handed to you.
You couldn't stand up. His kid got a happy birthday,
I got a podcast download. You got torn ligaments out
of the right. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
Man, I try to lift your boys up, you know,
try looked up the confidence, trying to be that uncle,
that godfather, that hey fucking he was the first one
at text. Here I am man in a boot thinking
I gotta fly to New York tonight. We gotta wear
suits tomorrow. Yeah, because we'ren't mad at Yeah. He's on
the other side for a reason, because he was gonna

(11:59):
bring up we have wear suits tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Could this just be a waste up situation?

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Do you think I might have to be you know
what it might have to be? Yeah, I'm not even
wearing a suit that fits me. I'm looking at him.
Just for a court appearance, I'm wearing you're up.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
They're applying for a long three.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Ten tailor suits. That's what I'm wearing. AnyWho, we're gonna
have a helvi a show today.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Boy, Let's have a hell of a show.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
Yeah, but who before we get into the actual show
and talk to me about this valument that was based
on Monty.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Yeah. Yeah, So Manty is John Ham in land Man, Yes,
and he's a big energy billionaire and he just sits
in his office all day, flies around on private planes.
Although spoiler, I don't want to spoiler alert. If you
haven't seen land Man season one, check it out.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
It's almost been a year the new season comes out.
At this she's been given.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Twenty four hours. I don't even want to spoil the
end of Twister for people, and that came out in
the mid nineties, but that's based loosely on the whole
West Texas oil drilling energy scene. And I was just
out there. Cody Campbell is the guy who's basically well
one of the main guys who's bankrolling Texas Tech right now.
The legend out there has it that that show and

(13:07):
the character of John Ham Monty is based on Cody
Campbell and the Double Legal energy guys. And so when
I was out there in spring, they were saying, hey, man,
we're trying to get Landman on campus for season two
because there's a quarterback in the show who's committed to
Texas Tech. I don't know if he stays committed in
season two. You know how Nila is now, Yeah, not
a total could be, but we'll see if he stays committed.

(13:27):
But I was like sucking to Joey Maguire, you guys
are gonna get involved in this, and he said, we're trying.
If you want to mention it on your show, it's
sure could help. We're trying. So we put the call
out there and this was months ago when they were
filming season two. So I haven't gotten an update, but
we're going to see because season two drops really soon.
We sound like we're just full on promotional for the show.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Yeah this is not this is no free shot us,
but there's no.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Free shotouts too. Yes, based on you know, like people
who are kind of bankrolling the Texas Tech program right now.
I know that's not a shock to many people, especially
those of US hoops were out there and saw that place.
Probably the best facilities in the country right now.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
That's what people. So we had Maguire on the show
and he was talking about the facilities, somebody else brought
up like people think they have the facilities, It's not
like everyone might have Number two, we absolutely have the best.
And a kid from Arizona like Texas Tech was never
on my radar right ever, as a place to even humor, Like,
I don't know anything about it, but you watch a
show like land Man, you see all the TT's on there,

(14:22):
you see how they're doing this year, it's perfect storm
for me. I got to see what Love with Texas
is all about. This is the atmosphere this past weekending,
and it's like, how.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
Much better can they be than all the spots we've
went around, right, Because how much better?

Speaker 1 (14:35):
You Abraska friends that they just did what a tw
hundred and fifty million dollar renovation?

Speaker 2 (14:38):
It was something crazy and it's incredible.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
Yeah, I mean, Michigan did one a couple of years ago.
It's incredible. LSU's is incredible. Oregon is doing a five
hundred Alabama Alabama like there, we've we've seen the pinnacle
at least we thought, yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
Place is pretty incredible. Yeah, I gotta the only thing
I can compare it to is those people who have
been around Texas or if you've ever been around really
really big time high schoo football. I'm talking about like
six seven, eight, depending on what state you're from, the
way that those towns, those towns are on a Friday night, Yeah,

(15:11):
the way those towns are on a Friday night, where
the whole thing just shuts down, like everybody, the cops
are all in, the gas station attendants, they're all in
for whatever that hometown team is. If you took that
vibe and you turn the volume up to like two hundred,
that's kind of what Lubbock is like. And you know
what college towns are like. You know what Athens is like,
ann Arbor's like Lincoln's, like those are college towns. Lubbock

(15:35):
is a college town. I don't know how to describe
this unless you just go there, but it feels almost
like a high school town, and that everything is shut
down for Texas Tech. Everything's all in for Texas Tech.
It's six hours in any direction to the nearest civilization.
You know, you're just on the moon and all you
got is the guy next to you. You all got
like Red Raider blood coursing through your veins, and oh,

(15:58):
we got the nicest facilities in the country now, and
oh we just bought ourselves a multi seven figure defensive line.
Oh we may go win the Big twelve. We're all in.
That's what it's like out there. God awesome. Now, did
you see you see the video that I shot from
the sideline of when when they were doing swag surfing,
which every student body does, but they don't know it
because they don't go around the country every week like

(16:18):
we do. So but they're doing it. And they got
the red smoke coming out of a little pipe there,
and they got the mascot on the front row, and
there's a kid holding a poster that says, I love
oil money. Drill, baby Drill. That's Texas Tech.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
We had to get there, Texas.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Another what the sixth BAS football playoff ranking could could
could mump up to fifth? Yes, some say they could
bump up inside the top four. I'm not some some
people say they could bump up inside the top four.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Realistically, they go play all state Indiana, A and M Alabama.
Where they have you done the FanDuel neutral site conversation?

Speaker 2 (16:58):
As Memo hit the model, they would be a dog
against all four of those, but not like a three
touchdown dog, not like USF would be or something like
that that be competitive two touchdown dog. No dog, maybe
like between seven and twelve, depending on which team you're
talking about. Look, here's what I think we need to do.
This is a team in the Big Twelve. So what

(17:19):
we need to do is we need to refocus our microscope.
Can they win the Big twelve? And if they win
the Big Twelve, to me, that's a highly successful season.
Whatever happens in the playoff is whatever happens in the playoff.
I said the same thing about Kenny in Arizona State
last year. Yeah, this is a conference that is not
operating on the same level as the Big Ten of
the SEC. So to me, it's always been stupid to

(17:39):
look at him and say, well, hey, the only way
you validate yourself in my mind, is if you go
win playoff games, win your conference. The Big Twelve is
the most evenly pitted conference in America. You don't have
the vast disparity between have and have not out there
historically like you do in the SEC or the Big Ten.
Purdue's not winning the Big Ten right now, Kentucky's not
winning the right now, But you could really go from

(18:02):
last to first in the Big Twelve, especially if you
invest like they did, so that would be a happy
story to me.

Speaker 4 (18:07):
What Texas Tech, if we get in the Heisman talk,
where do you have Jacob Rodriguez.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
He's gotta be up there. I don't really do Heisman much.
I would have him in my top five safely. How
do I measure him against what Fernando Mendoz is doing,
what Julian Sayin's doing, what Jeremi Love is doing, who
probably ironically is not getting quite enough love right now
might not be, but may after this weekend I did.
It'll come down to big moments.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
I feel like some of that spotlight is coming into
Texas Tech now that they are, you know, handling business
winning the way that they are going into as a
heavy like a big time favorite for the Big twelve,
and now that you know his name is getting out
there once he has one of those big moments. That's
how it felt like like when we were talking the
last linebacker to be in the conversation with me and Titeo,
like he had what seven takeaways and anytime it felt

(18:52):
like the microscope was getting on him or he'd have
an interception, we have a play.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
To where you're talking about conversation.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Yeah, when Manti Taya would pick a ball, I remember
watching other games on ESPN, there would be breaking news
on the bottom line. Manti Tya intercepts ball in the
middle of second quarter against Navy, he got breaking news
treatment for the big defensive plays. Yeah, dude, that's a
whole other world. If people are like eighteen years old,
you don't really remember twenty twelve all that much. The

(19:21):
Manti Teow Heisman wave was real, was very real. Now,
there were some things that weren't real, but the wave
was real.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
The wave was real, was real, the feelings we felt
were real.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
Yeah, Manta for that, Yeah, man.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
But that's how that's what we come down to for
Jacober because even statistically, that's the guy you compare him
to for like this Heisman run, he averages more tackles
per game, he has more takeaways. Right now, he has
ten three picks and seven forced fumbles. If he continues
to have those splash plays, maybe our boys getting the
breaking news as this wave the amount of time, But
there's only a couple more weeks, that's all take. I mean,

(20:00):
you see the push right now with Emma Johnson accolade.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
You guys obviously see it with me.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
But I'm saying, like, when you have a player like that,
who is ranking that well statistically across the country in
every category, especially, who hasn't had a player like that
right right. The school, like everybody around is going to
rally around to like put these names in front of you,
not because it's fake, because it's real, but to start
getting you thinking because all we talk about are quarterbacks
at every school for heisman for anything, and we can

(20:28):
have a first all American, our first all Americans since
like Leavonte David.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
That is crazy. It's been that long.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
And even though it's it's the aim as heisman, it's like,
you know, what's the saying shoot for the shoot for
the star or something like that, it's one of them.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
It's like that you shoot, you shoot for heisman.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
You're you're laying in all these other conversations with some
legitimate you talk about Jeremi Love, Emma Johnson's got them
beat in a lot of categories, and when you talk
about it's Jeremi Love and and Emma Johnson for uh
percentage of total yards to day accumulate four for their offense,
and Johnson's.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Number one right now, Jordan Love is a monster. Though.
Can I say as we as we start to dive in,
I assume we're going to dive into the game, we're
going to can I say one thing about Nebraska.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
I thought, you're not going to dive into the games.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
We're on a bye week. I was gonna it was
going to cool off. You were going to But you
did bring up em Johnson.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
I did, and then you bought it.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Right now, I'll get them to come.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Don't don't worry about that. Don't worry about that.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Oh, I will push this. I thought you guys did
a great job with the sit down with k on
the bus earlier this week. I did watch it. I
listened to it. I thought it was going to completely
come off the rails. When she asked how is Nebraska
doing this year? I thought it was done that. You're
not going to get to the Giants or Dable, You're
not going to get the NFL network and her upbringing.

(21:51):
When she asked how is Nebraska doing this year? I
thought it was over. I was in the gym listening
to it, and people around me heard. I just said,
oh no, oh no.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Yeah, Nebraska. You talk about government shutdown, if philibuster going on,
you want to keep that thing continuing, Just walk We'll
compedon into that room and say Nebraska. You want to
know about Nebraska, let me tell you. We might be
on a bye week this week, and then seventy two
hours later they're like, I don't think he's breathed yet. Well,
I think he's in healed.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
I bought us Chuck Schumer, that's John Thun. Hey, how's
Nebraska doing. Gonna put your own speaker here? How's Nebraska's
speaker here? Great win against UCLA, great win, great win
against UCLA. T J Latif. We tried telling everybody coming home,
coming home, it's.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
Even crazy when there's a quarterback controversy in Nebraska, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
There's no way we were telling about that Saturday.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
There's no way, no way unless unless this keeps going,
it is Delan Rail's football team as of right now, right,
I'll let you say that.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
You absolutely should not be the person at all the
sail he has to come down to the absolute wire
where you know, people of college. But hey, it's gonna
be PG Latif and that's when you yeah, if I
know it's a real thing, that's when, right. But if
that's what I would talk about that continues right now,
it's not even it's not even close to a right thing.

Speaker 4 (23:10):
Not even close. Is Dylan Reel was football. You'll enjoy
yourself we gotta keep him with Johnson and Nebraska is
what we gotta do. It might be going the league. Yeah, yeah,
which you know.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Yeah, this is the reason why you guys watch these ads.
Be the Superior's worth playing for Michelo Ultra Superior bragging rights.
Right now, I am up seven to six on will
Compton Massive come from behind. As we're now sitting in
the middle of November. Will are you ready, Let's do it,

(23:41):
rock paper shoot, And now I am eight and six
against will Compton. Superior is worse.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
I did think we were tied.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
On No, I'm I are injured player. That's that's what
happens when you play injured. By the way, Jack has
crutches on right now during this commercial breakdown, that's bad.
I'm just letting you know that's a bad omen. Yeah,
all right, let's get back to this episode.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
Subscribe please, I want what's best for the kids.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
But also a number thirteen.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Utah. They're at Baylor this weekend. Utah's favored minus eight
and a half total points. That game is sixty and
a half. I'll be quick Utah onward.

Speaker 4 (24:23):
Yeah, Utah, Baylor. I do have another question for you,
Josh Yep you threw grenade last week with the head
coaching jobs. Sure you hearing anything with USC and Lincoln Riley?

Speaker 2 (24:35):
Absolutely? I am hit me with the follow up, what
are you hearing? I cannot tell you because in no
world do I want to put myself through what I
went through last week. But I will look at you.
I will say, yes, I'm hearing stuff and that's what
I'm hearing. That's what I'm hearing. But I would never
say that on air.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
He mouth that to me, let's play telephone.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
O.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
I know it's gonna be a full sentence and I
just got caught up in his teeth for a minute.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
I didn't see.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
That's something that can definitely wait till the end of
the show to ask. You're injured right now? There's a
lot of stuff happening. I injured right now, is what
I'm doing?

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, another question Arkansas, Arkansas.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
I think they got to wait for Auburn to make
their move. Maybe gotta wait for LSU to make their move.

Speaker 4 (25:26):
I don't know when there was a gentleman I was saying,
they're pretty I don't know what I was seeing it on,
but there was somebody talking like they had their guy
they just out of respect.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Okay, whoever that guy is respectfully to him, I'm not
sure they're one hundred percent in control of that. What
I mean is the guy they end up landing may
also be in the running for other jobs. And so
the planes are all sitting on the tarmac and they're
ready to find out in which order they're gonna take off,
and one may cut the other one. So like Alex
Golish could be in the running for that job. Well,

(25:56):
if Alex Golish were to get an offer from Auburn,
I think he'd probably take it over Arkansas. So if
you're Arkansas and you want Alex Golish, great, I think
he'll do. I think he'll do great anywhere he goes.
Kind of got to wait and hope Auburn hires John
Summral or hires DJ Dirkin or something like that. That's
what I mean by that. Now, luckily Auburn's got their
ducks in a row, and so I think their search
is going to move pretty fast. But I think I

(26:17):
think Arkansas does not totally hold their hiring fate in
their own hands, if that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
Yeah, they have to wait. They know what it's in
the Tonal Polly And I'll tell you this about Utah,
man is the reason why I picked Utah is they're
kind of on the outside looking in, like Texas Tech, Baylor,
Cincinnati are right there and there's those teams have to
play each other and probably out of the the Coffas Championship.
They're kind of sitting in that two loss and I think,
slowly but sure, they're going to ink themselves in to
one of those last spots in the playoffs. And they

(26:43):
understand that going to Baylor, and I think they take
advantage of that, and I think they measure that in
a big way because for them to sit in a
position for them to bump themselves into that twelve eleven
ten category in the playoff, they've got to win. They've
also got to cover. If you look at me and say, hey,
the committee doesn't look at them as they did, they did?

Speaker 2 (27:01):
They not?

Speaker 1 (27:02):
It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
Look at what they did in Miami, right, they bummed up.
They're bumped up for what they just corrected them. They
heard the criticism and they corrected them. And speaking of Miami,
I like Utah this week too. Yeah, I'm gonna tell you,
why tell me? I think in November. If you struggle
to stop the run kind of in October, you really
let the floodgates open in November. Now full disclosure of

(27:23):
the model likes Baylor this week. But the model doesn't know.
It's just a computer. It's stupid. It doesn't know what
I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
It knows what you tell to know.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
Yeah, it doesn't like tapping out is not a data
point for the model. But I think Baylor's run defense
may do that this week, and if they do, there's
no limit to the amount of assault that you talk
and lay on them. So eight and a half I
think is a trap number because it wants the computer
model crowd to take Baylor and the points, but I
am not doing that.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
Yeah, it wants the nerds, yeah, to take Baylor.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
But actually, what you need to do in this game,
you need to go like that. You need to pull
the glasses.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
Down, yeah, and just see the world for what it
is or how your body wants to see it, which
is a little more fuzzy. A little more fuzzy is
clearly Utah minus eight and a half.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Well, yeah, what about James Franklin. I think James needed
to make a move on Virginia Tech if he was
gonna make him move. I think Virginia Tech's just sitting
there saying, James, we want you, and James Franklin's kind
of saying I could see it, and then they say, not, James,
we really want you. Here's the piece of paper, and
he's saying, I'll think about it, and then Virginia Tech says, hey,

(28:22):
we kind of got to make a move here.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
We'd love to have you, and James is like, give
me the details again.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
And Virginia Tech may just be like, yeah, never mind. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
And on the note of James Franklin, I love how
like the quarterbacks I'm playing for Utah. I love how
their defense has been playing. I just think that sitting
in that position, it's not like Pitt's head coach, like
every game is worth fighting for them.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
Oh, it's a must win, it's.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
A must win. Everything's a must win at this point
in the year for a school that takes himself seriously.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Well, are you hearing anything about Eli Drinkwitz and the
Penn State. Yeah, I'm not sure that he meshes with them.
I sure that Eli Drinkwitz the persona meshes with Penn State.
The program so I'd be very surprised if Eli Drinkwoit's

(29:10):
got that job. What I wouldn't be surprised by is
Utah kind of wins emphatically this week and knocks Baylor
from the equation entirely. And then afterwards people are running
the tiebreaker scenario math in their head and they're like, wait,
we know Utah could get an at large, but what
if just humor me here, what if Cincinnati beats Brigham

(29:33):
Young hands them their second loss, and then you realize, Oh,
Utah's got the head to head win over Cincinnati. Oh wait,
could they make it the Dallas Oh wait? Could it
be Utah versus Texas Tech? Where the model would be
really put on the stand because the model is the
only computer model out there that has Utah power rated
above Texas Tech. Texas Tech will be favored at FanDuel

(29:55):
I fully acknowledge that the model would pick Utah, and
I'd have to sit here, mister two and three, mister
twenty three here, and I would have to pick Utah.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
You would be so hypothetically speaking, all those dominants fall.
We're sitting here on a championship weekend, and you're gonna
take Utah over Texas Tech.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Either that or I'm gonna buck the model which has
return to me two and three results all year. So
maybe I will. Yeah, maybe I won't. Kind of like
James Franklin right now, will he won't?

Speaker 4 (30:21):
He?

Speaker 2 (30:22):
I don't know. Humor me about.

Speaker 4 (30:26):
Lane Kiffin and Jackson Dart with the New York Giants.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
Well, you know what I have to say to that
is he's now coaching for the Giants. What conference are
the New York Giants in? And don't don't give me
the NFC East. Do you know what I'm asking you.
I stop at midnight on Saturday, unless Hawaii's playing the
football for that week. Is done for me. Saturday at midnight,

(30:51):
and I just start watching replays. So y'all are sitting
over here on Sundays and you're watching God knows what
happens on Sundays in the NFL. But I don't know. Giants'
job is not even open to me. It doesn't exist.
If Lane Kiffin goes to the NFL, it's a great person,
but he's dead to me. He doesn't exist as far
as I'm concerned. Never heard of her. I don't know. Yeah,
everybody's talking about New York Giants the head job. Not

(31:13):
enough people talk about Kent State another big win last night.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
Yeah, the next game? What are you taking?

Speaker 4 (31:22):
Just real quick, so everybody does, Oh, Utah Baylor, I'm
taking the over.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
I'm taking the over. Here over said sixteen and a
half points.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
Both these teams, I want to say, Baylor averages like
thirty three, Utah averages thirty six. They both average like
north of four hundred and fifty yards Sawyer Roberto, He's
got about three thousand yards twenty seven touchdowns. Defense sucks.
I'm sure I know Utah's defense is good. But again,
you're down in Baylor. ESPN two. Don't worry about watching
the game. This is over sixteen and a half. I
love points in this game, all right?

Speaker 2 (31:51):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
How does the model feel about that? Does the model
even deal with totals?

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Hey we hit that Orgon iowall last week. We were
proud of that. Yeah, Orgon, I will under forty two
and a half. Someone actually bet the over at the
last minute. Gave me an extra point of value, Like
to Iowa, it's thirty seven degrees. It's poor and rain
Dan Landings were in a cotton hoodie there's no way
this game's going over, and it didn't and didn't. No
opinion on this one though.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
Well. On the subject of Iowa, Iowa is traveling to
Los Angeles this weekend, number twenty one IOUR versus number
seventeen USC Iowa dogs. USC favored minus six and a half.
Total points in that game is forty nine and a half.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
Will USC's gonna hang forty on them?

Speaker 1 (32:28):
Okay, that's a little crazy.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
USC's gonna hang forty on these mois.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
I did my best to root for Iowa these past,
like well, not last week, the past, the weeks prior
to that, getting them in the top twenty five, trying
to get them ranked, but they just remind you that
they're just going to be this four or five loss,
sometimes three lost football team at all times.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
It's automatic.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
Still ranked though, consists, still ranked. Yes, they're consistent, but
there's no three Iowa losing.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (32:55):
As an Iowa fan, there's no hope, Like there's no
we're building, there's no we're growing. There's no you know,
expectations or excitement to come to come around. Like Kirk France,
he's gonna be there until he dies. They're gonna continue
to be there's this above average football team and they're
gonna go out to USC this weekend, out on out
in La. I know there's gonna be a little bit
of rain, but there's not gonna be a whole lot

(33:16):
of wins. Maybe ten miles an hour GUS and USC
is in absolute playoff mode. Their big one is gonna
be Oregon, but again after coming coming off the performance
they had against Northwestern, the reminder of Nebraska a couple
of weeks ago. Nebraska gonna be the only team that
holds this team, this offense under thirty points on the season.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
This is gonna be USC?

Speaker 4 (33:35):
Is it ja Jayden Mayava?

Speaker 1 (33:37):
Jordan my Alatta Jaden?

Speaker 2 (33:39):
Yes, yeah, Jordan my Alatta, Jordan may Alatta.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
I think it's Australia?

Speaker 2 (33:44):
Is it Jaydon Mayava?

Speaker 4 (33:46):
But this week could be Jordan by a lotta, could
be Jordan Jayden buy a lotta for forty plus? Yeah,
and after he does, he's gonna a little much. But
that what's going to happen.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
Yeah, Iowa has a way, especially the weather's falling them
like a cloud. Like Iowa travels to La and all
of a sudden, it's sunny. But now it's going to
be a raise.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
Like pickin the cloud just follows him wherever he goes.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
Exactly. You says something on your show. Obviously, your breakdowns
of college football are incredible. And you, being a weather guy,
you said, monsoon season in California crazy. All of a sudden,
this week, monsoon season in California, USC is covering the
You got something, USC's covering this game. Monsoon season is
like June till October, and it really just affects the

(34:32):
southwest region of the country, which is Arizona and New Mexico.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Let me ask you this go ahead. Is it winter
right now? No? Sure, did get a lot of snow
in Nashville the other day, a lot of snow. Things
are crazy, a.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
Lot of snow or a couple of flakes that melt,
they touched the ground in Arizona.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
I'm from rural Georgia. There's a lot of snow, and
I'm from the West. We didn't have a single landfalling
hurricane in a contiguous United States this year. Weather's been
crazy this year. You know that I know that he
knows that I have in my hand, mister, no monsoon season.
The official Friday and Saturday forecast for the Los Angeles
Memorial Coliseum Friday, trying to paint the field heavy rain,

(35:09):
heavy rain, Saturday, heavy rain. The only difference between this
game and the one Iowa played last week is bumping
up about twenty degrees upper fifties instead of upper thirties.
But you're right, the weather's following them around. Now. You
would think to yourself, history would indicate this favors Iowa
because I would just crowned and pound USC is all flash,

(35:31):
no substance. We remember what USC did to Michigan.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
I know you're gonna bring that up.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
Ran it for two twenty four. They did. They ran
it for two to two against Nebraska. They ran it
not as great against Notre Dame, but Notre Dame is
Notre Dame is different caliber team than Iowa is. I
just think Iowa needs to play the game they played
last week with two minor corrections. They need to be
a little bit better on third down they were five
or thirteen last week, and don't lose the turnover battle

(36:00):
re minus one last week. If they can do those things, great,
I think the style of game actually favors USC more
than America is going to realize, like people are gonna
see heavy rain. They're gonna say this is tailor made
for Iowa and Lincoln Riley's gonna look at it, and
USC is gonna look at it and say, no, actually,
we're fully comfortable running the ball. Now. We may not
score forty. Game may not be long enough for us

(36:21):
to score forty. But I don't even need mayav It
have a huge day. I need him to have a
good enough day. Anything above and beyond that's a bonus.
The model disagrees with me again, real infighting between me
and the model this week.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
Yeah, it sounds as a hosta Biden.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
I'm taking USC to win and cover.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
I agree with that. Are you familiar with rum Springer?
Do you know what that is? It's in the Amish community.
These people they live the Amish life right, no technology,
no Internet, and none of that stuff. By the age
about like sixteen years old, the Amish youth is allowed
to go out into the world and live the way
for what most normal people live their life. They can
use phones, they can drink, they can try different things,

(37:00):
they can go watch a movie, they can utilize the
advances in technology that we've all come to know and love.
But the almost does not. Then they have to make
a decision within like three months to like two years
of what they're gonna do. But when they go through
room storing, it's like a kid going to college for
the first time freaking out. That's what this is for Iowa.
I looked at the roster. There are less than five
people from the West. It's full of people from Missouri,

(37:22):
people from Illinois, people from Iowa, Nebraska, Grand Rapids, Michigan,
South Dakota. These are just corn fed boys who talk
with a wheat straw in their mouth the whole time.
And they're going to fly to the West coast. Those
lights are going to be exciting. It's me the first
time in their life other than a movie or a
TV show that they've seen this. They're going to be distracted, discombobulated,

(37:43):
weather or no weather. Iowa is going to get their
ass speed against USC this weekend. Us See is a
much different football team at home than they are away,
much different football team. And I had to when it's
that firsthand you, I mean I, you and I were texting.
I was, you know, I what to call the hotline
during that game because they were doing things to Michigan
that Michigan does to people, and I see that absolutely

(38:05):
happening against Iowa. I don't see them putting forty up
on them like an ass beating for Iowa twenty seven
to nine.

Speaker 2 (38:12):
Yeah, yeah, if they'll hit thirty, they'll hit thirty. Thirty. Yeah,
they'll hit thirty.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
But yeah, rum Springer, they'll put that up.

Speaker 4 (38:20):
And uh was it Jade and buy a lotta Jane
Biolatto throw Benjamin on him after the game's over and
tell them they go buy a Casey's pizza to take
a guess, or they get back to Iowa because that's
all I was got Casey's and it is good.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
Almost went to Iowa, Will Crompton.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
There's a lot of we in the breakdown. There's a
lot of we. We are nothing more than average. We
do this to ourselves every year. Yeah. I didn't push
back because I don't disagreee.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
That Iowa makes teams be like play like their style
football though.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
Yeah, but then they made it last week and the
organ still beat them.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
Yeah, I know, But I feel like with Iowa, it's
not about wins and losses. Can we just allow our
identity to bleed into this game and ruin for all
the viewers like, that's what they want. How do we
get the least amount of years?

Speaker 2 (39:07):
If we can make people miserable at hope, we will
have done our job.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
Like I think, I think Iowa they put up graphics
in their team and bell like you see, like Texas
and Ohio State they got seventeen million people watching this.

Speaker 2 (39:15):
Don't like it?

Speaker 1 (39:16):
We got less than a million boys all right, and
it went down the farther you've got into the game
that they take pride in that, like, how can we
have this the lowest scoring game possible? How do we
compare this to soccer? As much as that's Iowa?

Speaker 4 (39:27):
And who's gonna cover lemon? Like Iowa doesn't have a
white cornerback out there this year?

Speaker 1 (39:31):
That is true, but also heavy rain monsoon that doesn't
exist in California.

Speaker 4 (39:36):
We interrupt this episode to bring you form Energy. Form
Energy delivers best in class taste with natural flavors and
zero sugar. Form Nagery has natural caffeine derived from green
tea and comes in a variety of flavors Screaming Freedom

Speaker 4 (39:53):
So if you're a guy who wakes up in the morning,
gets a workout in, puts in a full day's worth
of work, it still gives it theirrow when they come home.
You are form energy, Form energy, guy, form energy.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
We do the work.

Speaker 4 (40:04):
Notre Dame of pitt Right now, Notre Dame is favored
by eleven and a half. The over under on this
game is fifty five and a half. You guys sell
a Pitts head coach.

Speaker 1 (40:13):
This is disgusting to me. I saw that clip. Stop studying. Obviously,
Jeremiah loves a stud C. J. Carrs come along a
long way. But Paton Nordoosey, that's his name for him
as citizen. Not a must win game. I'd rather lose
this game by one one ten to ten, which is,
by the way, one o three to ten is like
what they've been outscored in the last three times they played.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
So he's very aware of that point differential. And I
just think you say that s it's a horrible message
to your team.

Speaker 4 (40:42):
Yeah, because it's like, you know, the boys like players,
You love to be out there, like you know, it's
don't give Baltimore material.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
You love to talk shit like you love to do that,
you just don't do it.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
You know you're the inferior team. However, it's like, what
kind of culture are you see?

Speaker 4 (40:55):
I'm just saying players are suppressed because as much as
we would love to go there, chirp a little bit,
have a little fun, you know, it's not in the
best interest, like for your football team, because there's more
people involved. So you just have to sit back and
almost just hear the clippings that you're your head coach
might say, but just to hear that if you're one
of the boys sitting at the lunch table, it's just
like coach doesn't believe this is a muscling Yeah, you

(41:16):
know they're saying something different in the room, but still publicly.

Speaker 2 (41:20):
I don't know. I wasn't a big fan, Like what
was your takeaway? I just think about being in the
locker room at the half and it's twenty to seven
Notre Dame. You look around and you say, what are
you supposed to tell those guys at halftime? H Coach
kind of said, this game doesn't that's what it is.
You know, we tried, right grass staying here and there,

(41:40):
we tried It's okay, we got ACC play coming up though,
AC because that's definitely, according to the committee, what's going
to get you in the playoff. Because the ACC has
such a sterling reputation right now, it doesn't matter if
you lose, you're out of conference games now. The committee
chair is on TV last night saying, yeah, this conference
kind of has no out of conference games to hang
its hat on other than Miami. Notre Dame. Ignore all
that lose. It was by one hundred. If you want to,

(42:01):
it's okay. As long as we get a good, solid
winn against Georgia Tech. That's enough win in our sales.
It's not. It's not Notre Dame is gonna win this
game in cover. Now. I will say this, I don't
think people know Pitt. I don't think people have really
watched Pit. I think people think classic Pit game grounded
like Iowa ground and pound ball control condensed the game.

(42:22):
That's not them. Heinschel is the quarterback that came in
for Eli Holsten. He's a true freshman. He's thrown for
three hundred and four of his last five games. Notre
Dame is fifteenth against the run, eighty ninth against the pass.
So like theoretically, if you're gonna get Notre Dame, that's
how you get them. You get them through the air.
Notre Dame fans would vehemently argue, Yeah, but our defense
is on now. We found ourselves, we found our stride,

(42:44):
we're on now, and there's probably a germ of truth
to that. I just think like there's some point where
you kind of wad up the paper, like Pitt's got
the number three run defense in the country. Do I
really think they're gonna shut down Notre Dame on the ground?
I don't, nor do they have to. According to patten Ardoozy,
you like to, but you don't have to. It's what
it is. I just think it's one of those reminder

(43:05):
we're Notre Dame your pit, Like one of those kinds
of games, and it's not a comfortable blowout win, but
it's a nice solid win for Notre Dame. They cover
in the end and you move on and you know
they stay on track to either be the nine seed
or the eight seed. Like the biggest question with Notre
Dame down the stretch is do they get a home
playoff game or do they have to go on the

(43:26):
road for a playoff game, which is going to be
a huge difference, by the way, because if you noticed,
I think on the Playoff Committee reveal show last night,
they did the hypothetical bracket and it was like Notre
Dame at Oregon. So imagine the difference in them having
to go to Eugene versus them hosting someone in South
Bend like they did last year. So that's not a
small deal. But I do think they're gonna like this

(43:47):
is not where they get derailed. There's no way, well
there's a little way they get derailed.

Speaker 4 (43:51):
Have you checked the against the spread numbers with pits
since Noartoozie's been there, I haven't you, I have not.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
Ouh.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
Can I give you covers for you?

Speaker 1 (44:02):
This?

Speaker 4 (44:02):
Uh pitt as a home underdog twelve and ten, I
got the spread twelve and ten against the spread against
ranked opponents sixteen and sixteen as the home team against

(44:22):
the spread thirty four and thirty six?

Speaker 1 (44:29):
Delanny Walker? What's Notre Dame minus eleven and a half?
So you did, Delanney Walker?

Speaker 2 (44:38):
Me, I just read you those numbers. It does not
blok mind that you did. You did do that, you
did read those numbers. I have little to no idea
what they really meant. But you read those numbers. You
read them with.

Speaker 1 (44:53):
Eviction home dogs against the spread, oh in fifty seven
or something like that. You're giving me like more line
five hundred numbers. You're not three.

Speaker 2 (45:03):
What you're not seeing.

Speaker 4 (45:04):
What you boys are seeing are the numbers within the numbers,
the game within the game.

Speaker 2 (45:10):
I knew it.

Speaker 1 (45:12):
He's so right. Yeah, And you know what, regardless of
whether we saw the number or not, we all landed
in the same place.

Speaker 4 (45:18):
Somebody out there right now they're going to comment and
be like, I know what, will.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
You see what's saying? Right?

Speaker 1 (45:21):
I bet they will.

Speaker 2 (45:22):
Yeah, I get where he was going.

Speaker 1 (45:24):
I see, I see, Yeah, he sees the field. Well, yeah,
he's absolutely coming out of numbers. Literally looked like you
twenty five and thirty two. That's like that is pit
dog at home. Your staff like this year is a
statium is pit So yeah, you're seeing it. You are

(45:44):
pitt don't you worry.

Speaker 2 (45:46):
We'll see what we'll see. Who's laughing next week on here?

Speaker 1 (45:48):
We literally all have the same picks right now. Yeah,
so literally we're all laughing or crying together. There's no difference.
I took over Baylor Utah. I think it's a good pick.

Speaker 4 (45:57):
But you watch Baylor Cove just like a late just
like a late cover.

Speaker 2 (46:02):
Yeah, that'd be g I'm kinda sick you guys.

Speaker 1 (46:05):
Guys kind of talk to me into Oregon, Iowa last
week because I was very iffy on the fence about
that game. Obviously I made my own decisions, but I
was sitting there at.

Speaker 2 (46:14):
We had it right up there for you.

Speaker 1 (46:16):
I know your heart, but I was surely sitting in
at the fifty to fifty. I'm straddling the fence. Maybe
my nuts are split in half. It's being like which
way of this fence do I want to go? And
obviously you got a boy with words. You start talking
with the duck reproductive system or how they even have
I'm like, yeah, that's like not only like true, but
it's also like a tip of the cap to oj Busten.

(46:38):
What other way could I have gone?

Speaker 2 (46:39):
Yeah? You know you'd rather lose the way you did? Yes?

Speaker 1 (46:43):
Yes, yes, yeah?

Speaker 2 (46:45):
Oklahoma and Alabama. Uh.

Speaker 4 (46:48):
The spread on this game Alabama favored by five and
a half at home. The over under on this game
forty six and a half. Gentlemen, Yeah, who'd like to
kick this thing off.

Speaker 2 (47:00):
Very confident here.

Speaker 1 (47:01):
I know I watched your prediction thing. I had my
decision before your show last night, and we aligned in
the same place. I think this game if it if
it's gonna go Oklahoma's way. John Mattier has to have
an odd of body experience and he's got to play
much better. He has to play essentially I did in
the first four weeks of the season.

Speaker 2 (47:18):
At his thumb has been your foot lately.

Speaker 1 (47:20):
Yes, right. He just wants to know what it's like
to throw a tight spiral again, just like I want
to know what it's like to walk pain free, and
unfortunately that's not happening this week. Like Alabama, they're pretty
unbelievable and they're great. They're great against the pass. There
was you had the stat again of the run versus
the run defense. It doesn't it doesn't really matter because

(47:41):
of how Alabama's offense rolls. At the end of the day,
it's this is kailing to board. This is the black sweatshirt,
this is this is covering is Alabama covering them taking
that next step? Like teams like this who have been
in this position, regardless of who's at the helmet, the
head coach, like they understand what that stake here, and
for that reason, I got Alabama.

Speaker 4 (48:00):
I don't know if I like hearing him say that
Alabama's unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (48:03):
They're just pretty good, aren't they. I mean, look at.

Speaker 4 (48:06):
South Carolina, like, yeah, they won what twenty to nine?
Like or got the They covered at the very end
against LSU, But they didn't look like they should have
looked the last couple of weeks with South Carolina and LSU, Like,
to me, it's like they're not playing unbelievable right now.
To me, this is a the better. They better wake
their ass up because they're getting it gear. It's like
when you look at their schedule, they beat Georgia, look

(48:28):
at this run right now, Georgia Vandy Maszoo Tennessee. Then
they've kind of had some moments against South Carolina. How
badly do you lose to Alabama? One score against.

Speaker 1 (48:38):
South Carolina Disney World during that taking place, and I
actually took South Carolina that week. We were so close
to looking like geniuses.

Speaker 4 (48:45):
JP famously not on the card, and even again against LSU,
they're not looking the way that they should. Like Ty Simpson,
you know, I love some Ty Simpson right, but misses
on a couple of deep balls. Spy a little bit
like he's still like he only has how many interceptions?
One interception on the year. He takes care of the football. Well,

(49:07):
I got Alabama here, but this isn't Alabama better wake
their ass up? This is everybody. Look, everybody's tired, everybody's hurt.
There's no time to bitch and moan. It's time to
get rolling. And you got to do it this weekend
against Oklahoma. Because I got them, I do have them
winning and covering. But the whole Alabama looking unbelievable, Alabama
being this national ti to run like they need to
start showing us now at the end of the year

(49:27):
because they've had a couple of shaky games against inferior opponents.
No disrespect to the game Cocks JP, but that's that's
my whole thing. I know they've had a lot, I
know they've had a long stretch. They need to close
it out against Oklahoma, who took down Tennessee. Who's still
in the conversation, who's gonna be hungry, who's gonna try
and get back in and take what's yours.

Speaker 2 (49:45):
Alabama's gotta wake up this guy.

Speaker 1 (49:47):
Let's look at the dominoes, the style, and that's taking
place when it comes to Alabama. The first the first
game of the year, they play against Florida State. They
dropped that game. Everybody's like, this team is dead. The
competition takes place on the bus about guys are getting
overreach at two in the morning, girls and maybe flying around.
Guys are not disciplined. You give him USA cookie, ask
for a glass of milk because they're going from Nick Saban,
who if your shoes are tied incorrectly, he's yelling at

(50:07):
you versus killing the boor who's more a little more lax.
Let the players be players. They wrote that ship. Who
had the longest home streak in college football? Georgia Georgia did?
Who broke that?

Speaker 2 (50:16):
Alabama?

Speaker 1 (50:17):
Alabama So although they weren't great against infree opponents, no
disrespect to JP, they have shown in times when the
adversity strikes, they have been able to write that ship.
That to me is unbelievable. We're going from a Florida
State situation to where they're at now. See at number
four in the country, not only in the eight people
but also in the college football bracket. That is unbelievable.
Their weapons they have on the outside. Even Ron Williams

(50:38):
had a couple of drop this year. Unbelievable. Ty Simpson,
who no one even really knew of until this season started,
that's unbelievable. The way he's still in the ball taking
care of it one reception, that's incredible. The run game
not so great, but they don't want to do it anyway.
They have the weapons on the outside. So all that
being said, Alabama cover, did you take Alabama? Oklaoma, I'm

(50:58):
taking Alabama.

Speaker 4 (50:59):
I'm just saying I me and you were in the
Alabama locker room and you're like, hey, we've played pretty
unbelievable this year. To me, this is Cooper Comstocks saying
we're gonna beat Northwestern the game that happened with the
brasket Northwest, and they're like, no, no, no, no, we
need to wake the fuck up, right and when all
of these games have been a little too close for comfort,
we need to wake the fuck up and play our
best ball against Oklahoma.

Speaker 1 (51:18):
The big win against that is you dropped one uh
in a week one and had to learn that lesson.
You've been able to keep up games when there's obviously
going to be a lull Ladis against the Ferry opponents.
Now you're playing its Oklahoma team who you know, Bred
Vannables defense. Everyone's always hooting and hauling about them. They
bring up the run defense and Alabama's like, yeah, it's
a great stat but it's not necessarily what we're what
we're interested in. I think I am very impressed with

(51:40):
kiln to board this year. Extremely impressive how it's handed
the culture. Me sitting Max saying, unbelievable. It's like, I'm
a I'm a I'm a guy with that can't walk
on a TV, on on a show right now. Yeah,
I'm not sitting in the locker room instantly a culture.
If I am in the law, we're in the locker room.
That is one percent of the conversation you're having with
those players. However, I see this going. Alabama's a way
big time.

Speaker 2 (52:00):
Could I say when you just sat there and said
we're in the locker room, that touched me a little bit.
I felt that you did not crack a smile. You shouldn't.
You're serious. Do we think Alabama's a national championship contender? Yes?

Speaker 1 (52:12):
Or no?

Speaker 2 (52:13):
Start here? Yes, Okay, I picked him to win it all,
so like, clearly we got three yes's. If we're right,
what you're saying is accurate. This is where you got
to start revving the engine, like you're running out of
weeks to rev the engine. Now. I'm not counting on
them to find a running game. I think they're a
flawed team. I think everyone may have flaws, so a
flawed team is gonna win it all. Alabama's been really
good at overcoming their flaws. Like, to me, the biggest

(52:35):
compliment you can give ty Simpson is all these other
quarterbacks are doing it like Julian saying, no, he knows
he's got a ground game. Fernanda min Doza knows he's
got a ground game. Ty Simpson has no ground game.
And he's still only throwing the ball to the other
team once and they're still able to scale their offense
every week. Last week against LSU was really interesting because
if you watch the game, yeah, they win, they cover,
they're coming out of a bye. You hope it's and

(52:56):
instead it's like missed explosive plays by inches here and there.
That was like a forty to nine game masked as
a twenty to nine game. Doesn't matter if you keep
tripping over yourself. My thinking on this game is this
is the week where they actually find those explosive plays
in Oklahoma's defense. Two different compartments here run d totally legit.

(53:20):
It's a funny way this game works, because when you
see strength matching up with weakness, you think big edge
to the team with the strength. It actually works the
opposite some ways. I would feel less comfortable about Alabama
if more of their offense was predicated on the run
this week, Like if they had run the ball a
little more successfully this year, I'd be more worried about
Oklahoma because Oklahoma stands a good chance of taking something

(53:42):
away from Alabama that Alabama uses. Alabama doesn't have rushing
yards anyway, like they don't run the ball effectively anyway.
Lesser defenses have taken their run game away. The question
is can you stop them through the air, because they're
totally comfortable throwing the ball when they don't have an
effective ground game to lean on. There were two teams
that year that are roughly the caliber of what Alabama

(54:03):
can put on you in the passing game that OU faced.
And it was Ole Miss and it was Tennessee, and
one of them threw for three point fifteen and the
other one threw for three ninety three. I think the
barely missed explosive passes you saw Alabama suffer from last
week are hit this week. I think you see minimal

(54:23):
crowbar effect from OU's ability to stop the run because
Bama doesn't really need to run the ball anyway. I
think the fact that Oklahoma's in the one teams and
turnover margin and Bama's top ten really matters when you're
getting them in your building. Bama's won seventeen straight at home.
This is the time where they got to rev the engine.
And unless I get a superhero performance from John Mattieir,

(54:43):
which post injury, we have not gotten and I'm not
going to assume that we get it now. I think
Alabama's going to win cover and it's a double digit
victory for Kaylin de Borr. And finally, this Saturday, you're
looking at you saying, Okay, now they're locked in. Now
they're ready for a stretch run.

Speaker 4 (54:59):
Well said in Aguilar, It's like you're talking about turnovers
as well against these high power offenses. In great quarterbacks,
Aguilar is don't about eight to the other team. Ty
Simpson does a very good job of protecting the ball.
And it's like, if Oklahoma's gonna find ways, is gonna
be through turnovers and.

Speaker 2 (55:13):
Everything like that.

Speaker 4 (55:13):
I do Ty Simpson, go be a fucking wolf brother.

Speaker 2 (55:17):
This is a big game. I'm excited.

Speaker 4 (55:19):
I'm excited to watch Alabama play True Classic Game of
the week.

Speaker 1 (55:23):
Are we all aligned other than your overpick on YouTube?

Speaker 2 (55:26):
We are.

Speaker 1 (55:27):
We are every single games. So this is not separation Sunday.

Speaker 4 (55:30):
Not separation.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
No separation.

Speaker 1 (55:34):
Saturday. Yeah, go ahead, I forgot Senday doesn't exist in
your work.

Speaker 2 (55:38):
The difference is for Church. Yeah. The Baylor. The Baylor
over is going to be the difference this week. Yeah,
that's what's gonna end up separating.

Speaker 1 (55:45):
Also, I want to talk to you about True Classic.
I'm wearing the pants right now and under this beautiful hoodie.
I also have the pimat T shirt. Grabs chest, grabs
his shoulders, leaves a little love in the middle. It's
a windy day outside. It's gonna come and get you
a little bit. You're gonna feel good, look good, and
play good. You can find Chu Classic at Amazon and Costco,
Sam's Club, Target and Target nationwide, or online at trueclassic

(56:06):
dot com forward slash bust and look good, feel good,
play good.

Speaker 4 (56:09):
True classic Game of the Week. Every Saturday's got games,
but only one fits just right. This is true classics
game of the Week. We got Texas Georgia sargvs. Kirby
Smart Arch versus Gunner Stockton Generational Talents getting after It.
Georgea's favorite in this game by five and a half.
The over under on this game is forty eight and
a half.

Speaker 2 (56:29):
Tex Texas is eleven and three since joined in the SEC.
It's a great record. Two of the three losses were
to Georgia. They were both last year. They had a
combined sixty rushing yards in those two games. So physically
Texas should.

Speaker 1 (56:46):
Never What was that, man good just making a quick transition. Yeah,
but transition like like an adult you just basically spin
on the ground. It was it was honey, honey, give
me your gum, the same thing fifteen minutes.

Speaker 4 (57:02):
Ago, and I just listen. I thought nobody's gonna see me.

Speaker 2 (57:08):
I'm just saying, I'm gonna saying. That was the most
wild for something to be intended for no one to see.
It was really theatrical. It was the mouth came wide.

Speaker 1 (57:19):
What do you do with it now? Don't put it
in your pocket.

Speaker 2 (57:22):
I do it all the time. I do it all
the time.

Speaker 1 (57:26):
I do it all the time.

Speaker 2 (57:30):
My apology, Sark game from Georgia sixty combined rushing yards
against against Georgia last year. So let me ask you this.
I got a lot of respect for Steve Sarkis and
his staff. Is it unfair to say that until further notice,
I don't think you can match Georgia physically? Is it
unfair that until further notice I say they're gonna outstaff you,

(57:52):
They're gonna out coach you. You haven't earned the right
for me to say anything otherwise. Right, So Sark watches
of the show. We all know that you at some
point you got to look at him and say, guys,
top to bottom, everyone in that building, that's big brother.
You got to go to big brother's house. He's moved out,
you're still with the parents at home. You got to
go over there and you got to handle business in

(58:13):
his house. You had two shots last year, one in
your building, one in a neutral venue, although it is
in Atlanta, and you didn't get the job done. So
you've been given a window here. You already lost two games,
but the playoff committee still saying They're like, they're hanging
the dollar bill right over you, and are you gonna
swipe at it and they jerk it? Or are you
gonna be quick enough to grab the dollar bill? It's
tough for me to say yes. I will say this though.

(58:35):
Imagine in July, not knowing anything about the upcoming season,
if I were to say, hey, come November, I've seen
the future. The Georgia Texas game is gonna come down
to quarterback play. Who would you have liked in July? Gunner,
Stockton or arch Manning, arch Manning. I think the game
comes down to quarterback play this Saturday. Who do we

(58:57):
like in that scenario? Arch Manning, Gunner Stockton, Gunner, Stockton,
arch Manning. Is it because Georgia cannot get after the
quarterback in Texas can?

Speaker 1 (59:10):
Not necessarily?

Speaker 4 (59:11):
Not necessarily quarterback not necessarily because Texas can, Like they
are they play. They've been inconsistent at times defensively, but
they do have a very good defense that will be
challenged by a good Georgia offense, and Kirby Smart they'll
be preparing.

Speaker 2 (59:24):
Ready to go.

Speaker 4 (59:24):
It's it's I believe more in arch Manning right now,
because you look at his last two games, is through
for like three seventy six touchdowns, and again Georgia can't
get after the passeror that well. So an old line
that has seen, hey, we should be superior against everybody
this year. We haven't necessarily seen that from this Texas
old line, but just having that mindset of going in
this team can't rush the passer very well. I want

(59:46):
to say confidence level is going to be high. They're
going to protect protect them long enough to where Texas
is scoring points the way we've seen them do over
the last few over the last few weeks. That's why
I like Texas in this game. I don't know if
they're going to win the game, but I do like it.

Speaker 2 (59:59):
I do like them. He's been a close covering and
arch Manning having an unbelievable game. CJ. Vogel put this
stat at I cannot take credit for it, but he
discovered that Gunner stock In and arch Manning are number
one and number two in the SEC and pass attempts
behind the line of scrimmage. Makes sense. Both programs recruit
superior athletes. They trust him to get the ball in
space and make yards after catch happen because of that reason.

(01:00:22):
I think tackles, misstackles and yards after catch are two
of the most important stats in this game. But Texas
think about him on the road this year. They went
to Ohio State, they lost. They went to Florida, they lost.
They went to Kentucky and barely got out of there
with a win. They had to come from behind in
shocking fashion to beat Mississippi State. They beat ou but

(01:00:43):
that was in Dallas. That's a neutral field. Eventually, you
got to get the job done on the road. It's
a huge pride and performance moment for Texas. There's something
in the back of my mind that keeps saying what
you just said, and that is maybe what you thought
Arch was going to be in September. Maybe he is.
It's just kind of clear and late, right, and they've
given They've been given the second life. There's like fresh

(01:01:04):
air in their lungs. They're coming off a bye. George's
played two games in a row. Maybe they go in
there and they're able to press them. We're getting six
and a half, right with Texas. I actually took the points.
Not trust Kirby smart implicitly, but I think It's a
really compacted game. George Is played a ton of close
games this year. Tennessee game was close. Oh Miss game
was one possession, Florida was one possession. The Auburn game

(01:01:27):
feels closer than any of those, even though it was
a ten point game. Their blowout was last week, Georgia
handled Mississippi State. I don't know physically that you're gonna
handle Texas. I just don't think you're gonna I said
this last year. I don't think you're gonna run the
ball in Texas like that. So I'm gonna take Texas
plus the points. Josh, the line has moved to five
and a half. Where you're still fine with that, the

(01:01:47):
lion's moved to five and a half. That's breaking.

Speaker 1 (01:01:52):
It.

Speaker 4 (01:01:53):
It is five and a half. Okay, sure, that's on
me because last night when I was in the notes,
I have this spread.

Speaker 1 (01:02:00):
The always take in the game. I always seeking in
Georgia at six and a half. I'm gonna take them
at five and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
Oh, I'll take I'll take Texas at five and a half.
I'll take Texas as well.

Speaker 1 (01:02:07):
I think we talk about Kirby Smart in November, yep,
and we talked about last week about Mississippi State. They're
gonna make it a game, and it was just exactly
what Georgia does. They just know how to beat teams.
Gunner Stockton knows how to morph into whatever Kirby Smart
needs him to be for that game to be successful.
And it is like, I have respect Sarcus a coach.
I think he's a great coach. I think if you're
just looking at what both coachers have done, like one

(01:02:29):
team is still figuring out their identity. There's a lot
of hope and optimism because of the way arch Manning
has played so far. But it's like still the Georgia
Bulldogs that Gunner Stockton has been exactly what they need
to be. They know what three running backs or all
could be starters anywhere else in college football. And they
play similar games, and I just think I'm gonna take
the more proven product over one that you know, we

(01:02:52):
get out of this game and Texas beats Georgia or
it keeps it close, It's like, Okay, Texas, I'm really
excited to keep watching them. Obviously their season is probably
over now.

Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
I don't about that.

Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
We'll get to that in a second. There's I'll just
finish those seasons. Is probably over now. But like the
arch Manning conversation, he's down on his luck, he's turned around.
Is he injured? Is he not injured? Now he's throwing
the way he is, Like that would be very exciting
for me to like like appreciate and love. But Sark
losing two of his three games in Georgia, this being
at home for Georgia and then having the longest you know,

(01:03:24):
home win streak in tell Alabama broke the earlier this year.
Like they've struggled on the road. Kirby Smart November Football
Georgia Bulldogs, Right.

Speaker 4 (01:03:32):
But defensively they just don't get after that. Knowing that
arch will have a cleaner pocket is where?

Speaker 2 (01:03:39):
Is where? That helped him hoping up.

Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
Tom because Texas can get after the quarterback.

Speaker 4 (01:03:44):
Because you know, what would you say, it's like Marcel Reid.
He's been he's been kind of getting into some Heisman conversations, right.

Speaker 1 (01:03:50):
Someone met him earlier this week.

Speaker 4 (01:03:51):
Yeah, Texas A and M is undefeated. He's the quarterback
of that team. Arch Manning statistically is very similar to
Marcel Reid. But he said so many you know, he
said those lapses earlier in the year. Yeah, yeah, their
stats are their stats are.

Speaker 1 (01:04:04):
Similar mobility wise, Archs got I want to say, over
two hundred on the ground, Marcel's what over three hundred
on the ground. You know, Marshal's got more of Like
I just think he's got more twitch and a little
more wiggle than Arch does. So it's like getting away
and stuff like that, like being able to extend play.
Arch is very athletic. Even with the last name Manning.
I think read like he's on a sentence. I mean, right, yeah,

(01:04:26):
you're not wrong. At the end of the day, it's like,
let's go with the prove. Let's let's not overthink this.
Like I'm excited about Texas and what they've been able
to do at this point. But Georgia is Georgia and
it's November when Georgia plays their best football. Said it
last week, I'll say it again.

Speaker 2 (01:04:41):
Fault at Love Tours in the building for this game. Wow,
that's the first thing. The second thing, let's just rewind
a second. You said Texas loses this game and their
season is probably done. But do we really think that
they're ranked I think tenth right now in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
Maybe nine to three.

Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
Correct, it would be it would be.

Speaker 1 (01:04:56):
If if they lose this and they will paint this
picture for so.

Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
We just watched Iowa at number twenty play a close
game against Oregon, lose and only drop one spot. My
opinion is if Texas goes on the road, loses a
very close competitive game twenty four to twenty one to Georgia,
but then they wrap their season by beating Texas A
and M to hand A and M their first loss,

(01:05:23):
I think the three loss Texas is the three loss
team that could make the playoff. They may need like
one or two things to happen, but I think three
lost Texas. I think they paved the way for him
last night. I think the committee already cleared the runway
and now Texas has just got to find a way.
And I think the scenario is they lose this game
because you're just going to get minimally punished for losing
a close game on the road against the top five team. Yeah,

(01:05:45):
Georgia's five or six top ten team. And then if
you beat A and M at the end of the season,
like that's the final data point. That's like going to
the carnival and swinging the hammer and hitting the bell
and it goes all the way up to the top,
and that's the last image they have not to mention.
The Texas logo matters in the committee room, whether they
want to say it or not. So I think Texas,
even if they go in there and they lose this
game competitively, it's deflating because, unlike pet they are in

(01:06:07):
a must win situation. Because the legit programs always think
they're in a must win situation. They come out of
Athens know and they still got they may still have
everything in front of them. May Well said, do you
think the beat in m though We'll get to that.
We'll get to that Thanksgiving week. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
Yeah, it is an all defense. It is to anybody.
Well you talk about and I'm talking about Texas.

Speaker 2 (01:06:36):
Just saying Mississippi State hung thirty eight on them, so
can they neutralize anybody then?

Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
Or Bell put thirty one on them? But that was
like a back that was it was the game?

Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
Was it?

Speaker 1 (01:06:45):
It was Dego Pavi in the last five minutes.

Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
This would be future Heisman Trophy winner Marcel Reid.

Speaker 1 (01:06:50):
Yeah, best one hundred dollars you ever met the man?

Speaker 2 (01:06:54):
You think it's Marcell Reid? Plus a fifty.

Speaker 1 (01:06:56):
Who's had a better chance in your Marcel Reid or
Emma Johnson.

Speaker 2 (01:07:15):
He's got money on Marceau Reed. So I don't know.
I don't know. You have to see the way the
season finishes.

Speaker 1 (01:07:28):
What they got weird about it?

Speaker 4 (01:07:32):
I did.

Speaker 1 (01:07:32):
Yeah, anytime the Brassic comes in the full of no,
no trigger no.

Speaker 4 (01:07:36):
I'm more so saying like I'm just more so saying
for a running back, you have to finish in a
much different way than a quarterback does.

Speaker 2 (01:07:44):
Who's the final two games? Penn State and Iowa? Two
pretty good teams, two pretty good defenses. Is that o?

Speaker 1 (01:07:51):
Those two foxhole games for us?

Speaker 2 (01:07:54):
Well, if anyone knows about fox holes, we know about
fox holes. So if you hang two hundred on both
of those teams, it's tough to do. But I think
that's your purpose. Well, number one, your purpose is to
win nine games. And number two, your purpose is let's
win someone a trophy around here, maybe the Dope Walker
Award maybe maybe bigger, maybe bigger, maybe bigger. We'll see

(01:08:16):
how it goes. We'll see how it goes.

Speaker 4 (01:08:17):
Dogs of the Week. I'm going to Arkansas five and
a half against LSU. Not my They don't know who's
playing this week. Arkansas for selling boy, we got bench
last week?

Speaker 2 (01:08:33):
Yeah he did so. Yeah. I like Arkansas against LSU.

Speaker 1 (01:08:36):
Great, that's also my weekly parla. But I took LSU,
so my dog of the week. I'm going Virginia dropped one.
Last week they played Duke everyone like three. This is
the third time this year I've gone in the Fando
sports of a gap and I've just seen Duke and
for whatever reason, like bolds to me and I'm like,
why why is a line like that? And I've been
to and O in that situation. This is one of
those weeks again in Virginia.

Speaker 2 (01:08:56):
Five and a half. I'm taking Purdue plus sixteen and
a half against Washington because I keep betting Perdue because
they're underrated. They're undervalued, They're a bad team, but they
keep being given too many points. They keep losing and covering.
So I'm gonna take Purdue plus sixteen and a half
at Washington. A lot of rumors up there a by
Jed Fish and his future, and I know where Barry

(01:09:18):
Odom is gonna be next year. At least I think
I do think he's gonna be a West Lafayete Indiana,
and I think he's got an improving team. They haven't
tapped out. They're not good, but at least they haven't
tapped out, so probably lose by ten. I'm gonna take
him to winning cover. I'm gonna take them to cover,
not win, just cover.

Speaker 1 (01:09:32):
Ladies and Jeremy are up this episode. Just let you
know if you don't already know, the voice of a
profit boost token available every college football Saturday. That's a
profit boost on any college football Saturday. Bet just open
up the FANDO sportsbook gap this Saturday and look out
for the boost in with the boys. PBT Weekly Parlay
Weekly Parlay. I took LSU minus five and a half.

Speaker 4 (01:09:52):
Don't look for the parlay b YU minus four and
a half against TCU.

Speaker 2 (01:09:58):
Penn State's gonna roll against me, Michigan State's that's a
top twenty JP pole team. Penn State. Once again, I
did we have been in the binning of the shill.

Speaker 1 (01:10:07):
I was kind of stumbing through these cards and I
saw the Penn State and I thought seven and a half. Wow, yep,
what a gift being given that you just snatched right up.

Speaker 2 (01:10:15):
Double digits.

Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
Yeah, that's a.

Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
That's a great trying to get Jonathan Smith out of town,
trying to probably negotiate something up there. Michigan State's done,
they've tapped out for the season. Yeah, Penn State second life,
Penn State finally finding out and we can throw the
ball down the field. Wow, Nick Singleton, I can still
run the ball. Do it against Michigan State. Could be
a fun time.

Speaker 1 (01:10:39):
The Boys and Blue, guy, Boys and Blue are playing
Northwestern at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Away home game for Michigan.
I think it was twelve and a half, might be
less now, away home game. Yeah, like the alumni and
Michigan is very prominent in Chicago and they're playing at
Wrigley Field. Got to go blue in Chicago, to go

(01:11:00):
blue in Chicagar. Think about all the times we connect.
We're like going to an Oregon or something like that,
and we're in Chicago. How many Michigan has you see?
Fair enough? Yeah, so eleven and a half this is
for Michigan, dude. This is a game that's like that.
I wanted the pre game to be that. I wanted
the Michigan State game to be like Northwest is going
to sell out to stop the run. I don't think
they'll be able to do that. A lot of guys
are injured on the deepest side of the ball. I

(01:11:20):
think it's more like a caution, like, hey, we know
what's coming up in the next couple of weeks. But
I think this is a big game for Bryce to
take a next step. Like there was a lot of
misthrows in that per New game. He didn't he didn't
play well, but receivers were open, he just didn't hit them.
I think this is a big opportunity for him to
take that step this week because in two weeks you've
got the game.

Speaker 2 (01:11:41):
They are the team. Michigan is the playoff team that
no one's talking about. I don't even think most of
America understands. Do they control their Big Ten destiny right now?
If they get Ohio State in there and they beat them,
both of them are one loss in conference, you got
the tiebreaker over them. It comes down to USC. Like
if USC goes to Oregon and loses, that's their second

(01:12:03):
conference lass, So you don't have to worry about USC
because that had the head to head over you. So
if if USC loses either this week or next week,
they're out of the picture. It could if you take
care of business between now and Thanksgiving week. That game
against Ohio State is for a trip to the Big
Ten Championship game. And I don't think anyone realizes that
people have already just they've penciled in Ohio State, Indiana,

(01:12:24):
Ohio State, Indiana.

Speaker 1 (01:12:26):
Handled Dude, you go down, you see you scroll down
on the college football you scroll out at the bottom,
it'll say Indiana, Ohio State.

Speaker 2 (01:12:32):
Yeah, they don't even know Michigan still bet on the game.

Speaker 1 (01:12:34):
Yeah, you can bet on the game. And I wasn't
like as far as the Big Ten Championships go, like
I'm so focused on them, like having the possibility to
make against the playoffs, and it's like the line's probably
gonna be ridiculous again like it was last year.

Speaker 2 (01:12:48):
That's your path. You've got to beat Ohio State to
make the playoff one hundred percent, and in doing so,
you may just pave your way to the Big Ten
Championship game in the process.

Speaker 1 (01:12:58):
Now, a hypothetical little sua, I mean, Michigan beats a
host state, which we have in the last four years.
Were a better team this year than we were last year,
And I would argue that Aha, State might be just
like a little bit worse, a little bit maybe more
complete as a full team. But I don't even want
to get into that. We beat a hot state, we
go to beat the championship, we'll lose to Indiana.

Speaker 2 (01:13:16):
You're in in, Yeah, you're in because you would have
been in the top ten already. They're not going to
bump if they're not.

Speaker 1 (01:13:22):
Yeah, yeah, were in the playoff right, Like fifteen sixteen.

Speaker 2 (01:13:28):
Win over Ohio State would be the best win anyone
has all year. You would you would easily jump into
the top ten. And at that point, if you're in
that playoff bubble going in the conference championship Saturday. They
didn't bump SMU out last year for losing a conference
time game, they're certainly not going to bump you out.

Speaker 1 (01:13:44):
The logo too.

Speaker 2 (01:13:45):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:13:46):
I can't wait for that game, man, because it really
is no one's no one's talking about everyone's thinking about
Oklahoma the USC game, which the USC game was an
indictment on our entire program, and the defense has truly
turned it around and played completely differ FOOTBA since then,
Blitz has gone down I think twenty five percent. They
were like above fifty percent blitzing before the USC game.
After the USC game, we're like twenty five percent now,

(01:14:09):
so it's a much more controlled discipline defense. That game
is going to be unbelievable. I got I'm out for it.

Speaker 4 (01:14:17):
Ocus Northwestern, no doubt. Don't look past Northwestern. I think
the big one is Maryland.

Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
Mike Loxley is still the head coach at Maryland? Is
he now? He got fired? Well on Twitter?

Speaker 1 (01:14:28):
What have you believed that the final bite segment, we're
giving a bold prediction hot take storyline flying under the Radar.
It's gives fans one thing to keep in mind before
finishing their week and tuning into Kickoff.

Speaker 4 (01:14:40):
Before we get into this final bite segment, this episode
of The Locker Room is brought to you by McDonald's
all New Buffalo Ranch Sauce. New Buffalo Ranch Sauce has arrived,
and it pairs perfectly with your snack wrap, mccrispy chicken
sand mccrispy sandwich, and mccrispy strips. It's got the zany
tang of buffalo with the creamy cool of mild ranch.
It's mild and wild at the same time. It's a

(01:15:00):
sauce that balances itself and compliments are crispy Chicken, your boy.
I personally love the mccrispy sandwich the most. And there
is a new sauce in town, a McDonald's Tangy Creamy
Buffalo Ranch order now available for a limited time at
participating McDonald's while supplies last.

Speaker 2 (01:15:17):
Let's get into this final bite segment.

Speaker 1 (01:15:18):
You had a nice little bull take earlier this week
revolving around Nebraska.

Speaker 4 (01:15:24):
People know my Nebraska stuff. I'm gonna say my final
bite as you're dipping in that little buffalo zesty sauce.
I'm gonna say Archie Manning throws for three point fifty
and three touchdowns and Texas beats the Georgia Bulldogs.

Speaker 1 (01:15:40):
So you're gonna take them money lot.

Speaker 2 (01:15:42):
No, not for the record, Oh okay, it's my final bite.
We are hypothetical there.

Speaker 1 (01:15:48):
I like that dipping in denim boys hashtag dipping in
denim bull takes.

Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
I'm just gonna say I didn't pick either of these
things to happen outright. Oklahoma and Texas both off buys,
both on the playoff bubble right now. They both go
on the road to face Bama and Georgia this weekend.
If they were to both go in there and win.
I don't really think people understand how close we are
to an absolute and utter chaos seven SEC playoff team

(01:16:17):
type world. But there's a world where if just these
things happen, Vandy Texas and O you went out. If
just those things happen, we would have seven SEC teams
with two losses or fewer, at which point the committee's
going to have to look and either say, all right,
seven of you are in, or they're going to have

(01:16:38):
to look at a two loss SEC team and say no,
we can't let you in.

Speaker 1 (01:16:43):
Bad optics in that situation. Does that mean no ACC team?

Speaker 2 (01:16:50):
There is a world now that's a real chaos scenario.

Speaker 1 (01:16:53):
Supercass red button.

Speaker 2 (01:16:54):
You got to have Duke win the ACC with four
losses and be lower as a conference champ than USF
and the American and James Madison in the Sun Belt,
USF would be ranked higher than them, so they would
get in. They would get the fifth guarantee or fourth
guaranteed spot, the fifth guaranteed spot. There's a school of
thought out there, and I don't know if I buy

(01:17:15):
into it that says an ACC champ of any record
is going to be given the nod over James Madison
with a strength of schedule in the one hundreds and
a double digit loss to Louisville is their only loss
of the year, ironically an ACC team. I don't know
if I believe that, But I don't know where the
committee has James Madison because they do this little slide

(01:17:37):
of hand thing where they show you their top twenty
five and they let you know who their highest ranked
G five team is. If there's no G five team
in the twenty five, they don't let you know anything
after that. So James Madison could be ranked twenty seventh,
fifty seventh, no one knows, and they leave that will
room so that when they get to the end of
the year, if they've got this total disaster on their
hands and Duke who has the second best to win

(01:18:00):
the ACC Right now, by the way, if Duke wins
the conference with four losses, and you're looking at the
situation you thought could never happen, which is one of
the power for conference champs, is not one of the
five highest ranked conference champs, they can still somehow get
them in. I don't know if that needs to happen
for the seven SEC team, but forget about the rest
of the landscape. Just imagine a world where you get

(01:18:23):
to the finish line and seven SEC teams have two
losses or less. Forget about whatever the rest of the
field looks like, if it's crowded, if it's wide open.
Just think about telling a two loss SEC team Vandy's
probably a team by the way, they just went two losses.
They finished with a win and Niland Stadium to end
the year. Imagine telling ten and two Vanderbilt, we don't

(01:18:45):
have room for you.

Speaker 1 (01:18:46):
Not invited to the partys.

Speaker 2 (01:18:47):
No one would have said in July, if any of
these teams goes ten and two, they're gonna get left out.
Everyone would have thought, if you go ten and two
in the SEC.

Speaker 1 (01:18:55):
No matter what, you're going to have ten and two
in any of the power forwards.

Speaker 2 (01:19:00):
Spot pretty much unless you just play like a really
paper soft schedule. And Vanderbilt won't have the highest drength
of schedule in the world, but it'll be plenty good enough,
you would think. So that's the thing, Like, you gotta
you gotta keep a close eye on OU in Texas
this weekend, because again it's not it's not mid October.
We're in mid November, so there are three weeks left.

(01:19:21):
Some teams only have two games left, so we're running
out of time for quote unquote things to work themselves out.
Sometimes things don't work themselves out.

Speaker 1 (01:19:30):
I need it. This is the best year of college
football so far. I need that shit, dude, just chaos.
That'd be Yeah, that would be so amazing. I would
love that you have a final bite. Uh yeah, my
final bite will be Pit scores less than ten, Notre
Dame scores more than forty.

Speaker 2 (01:19:50):
Oh so someone does score forty, it's just not USC,
it's Notre Dame.

Speaker 1 (01:19:53):
Yeah. I get to see that happening. I see the
first couple series Pit running to an issue and and
then doubt creeps into its head. And then they remember
that press conference of their head coach and they're like,
well it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (01:20:05):
Yeah. There's there's like an ISO camera shot of players
during the game looking at each other and going, yeah, hey, rugging,
this one doesn't matter to us, and they laugh. Yeah,
they laugh, check their phone. Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:20:15):
Oh, that'd be awesome. Yeah. Some guys have like seeds
in their mouth already. It's the second quarter, but I
can definitely see Notre dame just blowing the doors off them.
You see that kind of press conference, man like you
gotta be in the hot seating man immediately. I don't
know was it Nardoozy? Yeah, I don't know him. My
sample size of him is watching that sound bite press

(01:20:36):
in the press conference. That's all I need to know.
It's horrible for culture.

Speaker 2 (01:20:39):
There is twenty fifteen horrible for the first impression of
him is a press conference in week twelve of the
twenty five season and he saying that's not a muscle.
Win this week, lose, be hundred, don't care, got Georgia
tech either way. To me, it's.

Speaker 1 (01:20:54):
Terrible. Great show boys and man, dude, thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:20:58):
Get better.

Speaker 1 (01:20:59):
It's really These next ninety six hours for me are
going to be Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:21:03):
Yeah, We're brutal.

Speaker 4 (01:21:04):
We love you, we appreciate you. Make sure you are
subscribed to the channel. Let's win them all, good luck
this weekend.

Speaker 1 (01:21:09):
Win them all. We can wait. No, you guys dooke
Georgia or yues in Texas, we can.

Speaker 2 (01:21:14):
I'm just gonna sit here.

Speaker 1 (01:21:16):
I just photo.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
