The crackhead ahead by two judz for Everley, a goal

struggling offensively as of late, put five biscuits in the
basket and they defeat the Winnipeg Jets last night five
to three. So at least they I mean, they won.

(01:40):
They didn't have to play overtime to do it. That's nice.
That happens almost every game, eight of them, but ever
fits you on the call there last night of course
the voice and those are your mc deliveries of the game.
Last night's top calls from the Krack and Audio Network,

Krakn and the JITs played to a five to three
final last night, the Crack and winning, and now they
get ready to face Baby Sharks, Baby Sharks, the baby
Face Sharks. We'll be in town tomorrow night at seven o'clock.
That's where we'll start our frost brewed course, light chills,
choose chill headlines. That's a lot to say. Uh, and

(02:33):
let's get it going with baseball here. Eric Judge earns
the excuse me, edges cal for the al MVP. Yeah,
he earned an MVP, but not more than our guy.
We're all very disappointed, Bucky perhaps most of all, even
though it is a tight race and so cal Rawley
just fell a little bit short. Judge got seventeen of

(02:53):
the thirty first place votes. Both Judge and Cal got
all of the first or second place votes, and it's
Aaron Judge who wins the AL MVP, his third of
his career. Showe Aotani won his fourth MVP in his
career on the National League side, and celebrated by kissing
his dog and not his wife. There you go. College basketball,

(03:15):
UDUB and Washington State play tonight at eight o'clock in Pullman.
The Zags are also in action. They'll be taking on
Arizona State that will also tip off at eight o'clock.
College football, you DUB host Purdue tomorrow at four honks,
get it started at noon, and plenty of other college
football action that we'll outline for you in the OHO

(03:37):
at eight o'clock. Thursday Night football, the Jets lost to
the New England Patriots last night twenty seven to fourteen,
and the Seahawks, of course, will be in action against
the Rams this Sunday at one. It's time to talk
to Greg Bell. All right, Happy Friday to you. So
here we go, Here we go. I mean, this is
the game that you've sort of had circled the entire offseason,

(03:59):
maybe since the schedule came out. We talked about in
the preseason, you've been telling us that it won't matter
until this team squares off against the Rams. That's when
we'll know how good they are. So obviously you're putting
this game in the area of very critical importance here
on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
It is. It's a barometer game, a measuring stick. Again.
They hired Mike McDonald to win this game, to beat
the forty nine ers in the Rams. They narrowly lost
in Week one to the forty nine ers, and they
get them again week eighteen in the season. They've yet
to play the Rams this year. We all know the
combined Seattle seven to two, the combined records of those

(04:41):
seven wins, the teams they've beaten, the seven victories, twenty
two wins and thirty four losses. So they haven't done
anything yet because they've done things. Of course, they themselves
in position to be here, but they're not going to
win the division till they beat the Rams in forty
nine ers. They Hugh mentioned something yesterday that I had

(05:03):
remembered i'd written last year, and then I've kind of
forgotten about that game. Let's throw out the JV game
as he put it to end the regular season in
Englewoo last year. Because the Rams had everything clinched and
rested all their starters. Stafford didn't play Gino. Smith just
was throwing for his incentive bonuses. It was throw a game.
The game in Seattle in November, early December, late November.

(05:27):
In the overtime game, McVeigh and Stafford got just thirteen
points on McDonald's offense in regulation, and if Smith doesn't
throw the one hundred and five yard interception return touchdown
in the red zone, the Seaharks probably win that game
with the Rams only scoring thirteen points. So McDonald has
had a leg up on McVeigh in their one head
to head meeting. That game was more indicative as to

(05:50):
why they hired McDonald. Can he do it again? That's
the question. Stafford comes into the game being the first quarterback.
I found this kind of surprising. Actually, this hadn't happened before.
He's the first quarterback in NFL history have four more
touchdown passes with no interceptions in three consecutive games. It's
three in a row in counting. Coming into this game,
on Sunday. So can McDonald in the defense now that

(06:13):
it's becoming almost whole again with everybody but Julian Love
back healthy, can they do what they did in Lumenfield
last November to the Rams again? That's the question whether
they'll be in first place Sunday night or not. I'm
with you.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
I think the other side of that coin, obviously, is
very intriguing as well, is what can what can Sam
donald and company do against that Rams defense?

Speaker 2 (06:33):
And so just quickly, I mean, I suppose health wise,
where are we at?

Speaker 4 (06:39):
I saw Gray's Abel was on the injury list or
you know, on the injury list a report. If he's
not in are you looking at what Cable do and Olua,
Timmy and Anthony Bradford up the middle.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Let's just he's going to play. I sig him a
practice yesterday. Oh Timmy's gonna play, Yes, but no, Gray's
Abel's gonna play. I saw him actice yesterday. He looked
like he was normal. Good to go let him as
a heel. But he was a limited participant. That doesn't
mean he hasn't been in the game plans, the meetings
and in fact on the field practicing with the starters
this week, this time of year. The injury report, guy,

(07:15):
people just see names on them. There oh, no Crazabels
on it. One, If they're limited participant, it means they
took at least one portion of their normal reps off.
That could be a series. It's very there's a wide
range of what limited means. Two, it's late mid late
November and he's already played nine games. They're resting, they're

(07:37):
preserving themselves for Sunday. The injury reports, especially with limited participation,
aren't very always very indicative of who's going to play
on Sunday. Zabel's been a revelation he really has. There's
a video out there on the internet him miked up
as they call it, with Kalis Campbell during the Cardinals game,

(07:59):
and he's just trash talk in a future Hall of
Fame pass rusher, and the guy's like, I have one
hundred and fifteen man, and Zabel goes, well, he ain't
getting one hundred and sixteen on me, and he didn't,
and he still has yet this season to give up
a sack. A rookie starting right away, his boys. His

(08:20):
trash talk, which I've written about at the News Tribute
as well disabled something else. That guy as tough as
they came on that team. I mean Midwest, Hardy Stock,
Upper Northwest. He's playing Ernest Jones, also limited participant. He's
playing Tory Horton was the guy who had practiced on Wednesday,
who didn't practice yesterday, took a step back in his

(08:41):
leg shin injury. Josh Jeman was the most telling thing
to me that he was back full go yesterday. Now
this is the point in the concussion protocol that Rake
wollen a couple of weeks ago took a step back.
He had practiced on Wednesday, wool and had Thursday. He
tried to come back and duplicate that and couldn't, and
then he missed the game. Opposite with Job Job practice.

(09:04):
Now two days in a round on the second day
full it's all signs are Josh Job's going to play
as well?

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Well. I was going to ask about that because the
ripple effect of that I just did. I just did
a no cliche key to victory talking about how Rake
Woolan might be the key because I was assuming Jackson
Job was not going to or Job wasn't going to
be playing in this game. But now the ripple effect
if he does play, what does that do to Woolan,
What does that do to Pritchett.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Well, I would think Pritchett is the guy who slides
back down out of the rotation. I would also think
it might mean they may do more Dime and they'll
keep wooling in and they'll do six defensive backs. We've
talked a lot about Dame with McDonald this week. He
hasn't been doing it as much until recently when they
got all the guys, but he didn't have six defensive
backs he felt was worth we're worth playing at the

(09:51):
same time, Well, now he's starting to get him all back,
and the way Tyo Cotta is playing, he's not quite
been a one for one swap with love. But you
the safety in the back is not quite as anything
to do with Nickel and Dime. You're talking about your
inside slock cornerbacks. I would think even though Pritchett had
the remarkable play. I wrote about that at the News

(10:11):
Tribute this morning about Pritchett's breakup in the end zone.
Past break up in the end zone had Leslie Fraser
going nuts about it. I think he's going to move
out and Woolan becomes what whether what Neamiah Pritchett was
last week. I would think I've been telling you they
love Joe and they're not about to bench him just
because Woolann's had a couple of good games and Pritchett

(10:33):
had a great pass breakup. I'd expect Josh job will
be starting on Sunday.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Well, how do you envision the front seven holding up
against their rams?

Speaker 2 (10:41):
I mean, they run the ball.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
These two teams are very similar, at least in nine
games into the season, and so you got they got
a couple guys, depending on the health of DeVante Adams,
they got to stop with your your dbs. But the
upfront you, I mean you obviously are not going to
want to let Williams and company run all over me either.
So what's their plan of attack to shut that down?

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Well, let's update the listeners. DeVante Adams did practice yesterday
on a limited basis. He had the oblique issue that
he did not practice Wednesday. So a guy did not
practice Wednesday, practice limited on Thursday. Trending toward playing, Adams
leads the NFL and nine with nine touchdown receptions so
far this season. Kyen Williams still the guy. I mean
he's averaging five and a half yards of carry. I'm

(11:25):
telling you McVeigh gets all the attention for throwing. It
starts with the run. And when this rams played the Seahawks,
it starts with running backs and tight ends, screen pass
dump offs, quick, horizontal, across the field, horizontal stuff. Kyen
Williams and Tyler higbere as big as this to me

(11:46):
as DeVante Adams and Puku Nakua because of the way
that the Seahawks have habitually been attacked on defense. And
they've got Chenn and wos Wu now back full time
playing run and pass downs. De Marcus Lawrence's back health,
the Leonard Williams is having another Pro Bowl caliber season,
and Byron Murphy has been the breakout on that front

(12:06):
seven with the sacks and playing every more. As we said,
had to play more than fifty percent of the snaps
that he barely played last season, and he has They
to me, are more equipped than they were this time
last season. Murphy is progress being foremost in that they're
more equipped in the front. Can they pressure Stafford? Stafford
gets the ball out Alter quick. He's like Aaron Rodgers,

(12:29):
but better, and he gets the ball so quickly he's strolling.
Just two interceptions this season, it's really tough to get
to him. The can they at least get to Can
they cover sticky enough in the back that the front
can get to the pass rush put to the passer,
And that's what's happened so far this season. If McDonald
can get away with not blitzing, the Seahawks are in

(12:50):
catbird seat defensively. In this game, I think he's going
to blitz more than he normally does because he's got
even Worry and Witherspoon both at his disposal as in
sub packages. I expect a lot of Dikel and Diamond,
a lot of blitzes out of it with those two guys.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Craig Bella is with us are Seahawks Insider. You can
follow on at to g bel Seattle, there on x
and of course the Newstribune dot com, where he provides
a complete and excellent coverage of the Seahawks all year long.
He's ours to interview most every day throughout the football
season here at seven five. You know, obviously, when you
face an NFL team, there's a very good chance you're

(13:27):
going to face somebody that used to be on your team,
and so certainly some trade secrets are going to be exchanged.
And it doesn't seem that NFL teams, you know, stay
awake at night worrying about that. That said, when you
have two players as good and cerebral and as involved
in active as Cooper Cup and Ernest Jones on this

(13:49):
team that played so recently against the Rams, what kind
of advantage, if any, could that possibly give the Seahawks
on Sunday, Probably.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
Thirty thousand foot global view, it helps. But McVeigh those guys,
they change from week to week, year to year. They
put a bunch of stuff in the training camp that
they haven't shown yet. All teams do. The Seahawks have
not shown a decent amount of their offensive defensive playbooks yet.
The Rams are going to see stuff on Sunday they
haven't seen yet. Cup and Jones are going to see

(14:22):
stuff from McVeigh that they haven't seen yet either. So
it's almost a wash. I want to say it's almost psychological,
but it's more than that. But Cup is in particular
sticking his head in the head coach's office and saying, hey,
I know the Rams like to do this on third
down and when they're at this part of the field.
Is mcveigh's tendancies are Chances are McDonald knows most of

(14:44):
that already. The guy's a football nerd who just sits
and just loves that stuff. And we've asked him a
couple times this week McDonald about facing McVay, and of
course he said, Wow, my job is to have this
team ready to play every week. Doesn't matter who the
opponent is. I gotta have it coaches and players. This
matters to him, I know, as in the weeds as

(15:07):
he is about schematics and about being cutting edge and
innovative and one step ahead of the offensive guy. This
is the standard Kyle Shanahan and McVeigh, but McVeigh most
recently has the Super Bowl ring. This is the standard. Again,
this is why the Seahawks hired him to beat this
guy this week means it's way more to him than

(15:27):
he will ever let on. And then that's the intriguing
game within the game we've been talking about all week.
It's it's fascinating, it really is. Yeah, it's kind of crazy.
This game is a one oh five regional Fox broadcast
with the number two team. This should be primetime best
game of the weekend. This is this is really good stuff.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
That's good. I mean, kan City Denver is a great game,
but this one takes the cake right here, all right,
So what's your key to the victory? Well, how's it
going to go down on Sunday?

Speaker 1 (15:55):
Well, I'm just writing that story for thenewstribute dot com
this morning. Sam Darnald, Is he human in that? Is
he really? Is he going to come out and say
I need to prove myself to myself against this team
that just bludgeon me to end my Viking's tenure last January.
It's only been ten months. The last time he's been
on that field, he got sucked nine times and was

(16:18):
just a hot mess and the Vikings went from fourteen
to two to out of the playoffs in one night.
Is Donald truly what he says and what he's shown
so far? This poised, unflappable and every game is saying
nothing fazes me guy. Or is he going to be
a little extra and forcing things a little bit more

(16:39):
to show these guys don't have me. He's got to
play within himself and not force things. He's got to
get rid of the ball and be willing to just
throw the chuck the ball out of bounds when he's
getting pressured. If they get to him. The Rams are
susceptible in the secondary. When you talk to the LA
people down there, Yeah, we've had a great scene, but
man our past defense. If we don't get the quarterback,

(17:01):
we've had a hard time covering. And you look at
the numbers, I think it's eighteenth in the league. And
pass defense. If the Seahawks with Gray's Abel and friends
can keep mc donald from being rushed and being pressured
into making choices before he wants to, the Seahawks have
big plays coming in this Ram secondary. And I'm talking

(17:23):
the debut of number twenty two. I know he played
last week, but Rashid Shaheed to me is an untalked
about heat of this game. They're gonna send Shaheed deep
center post routes and go routes to see if the
Rams will bite or if they're going to really keep
their safety over the top against Smith and Jig. But
if they do, look for Shaheed to have a one
hundred yard receiving game. If they do go back to

(17:47):
shading for the deep post and guarding against Shaheed speed,
look for Smith and jig. But to have one hundred
yard receiving game, that to me is another game within
the game. It's really intriguing to me. But the old
Timmy thing at center, big deal. The Rams are going
to send a lot of a gap pressure and really
challenge old with Timmy. We'll see how that part of

(18:07):
it holds up for Seattle. If that part fails, the
whole offense will fail.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Say travels, We'll talk to you on Monday. Should be fun.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Yeah, enjoy the weekend. I'll talk to Monday.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Thank you, Greg Bell, our Seahawks insider again. Follow them
at g Bel Seattle and Thenewstribune dot com. He'll have
those keys written out for you a little bit later
on today, and I would imagine within the hour there
at the Newstribune dot com for our part. His segment
brought to you by Dellacado Family Wines. They offer a
portfolio of premium wines from a selection of the most
desirable vineyards from notable wine growing regions in California, Germany,

(18:41):
and Chile. The wine winery harvest grapes from more than
six thousand acres of estate vineyards in California's Napa Low Die,
Monterey and Sonoma regions to craft wines that express the
diversity of these appellations. All right, coming up next Factor
Fiction at seven thirty five Ashleys today and we'll hear
from Rick Neweisle before the college football weekend gets underway

(19:04):
right here at Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.
Fact to Fiction coming your way. It's seven thirty five.
It is Ashley's pick today. Don't know where she's gonna go.
Maybe she goes NFL, maybe she goes college football. Certainly

(19:26):
a lot of good games to choose from in the
college football world. The SEC this weekend particularly fascinating, and
iim do you have the college football playoff rankings? Four
teams involved in that picture in two different games? You
also have. And I don't like the fact that Oklahoma
and Texas are even in the SEC to begin with,

(19:46):
but it sure has given us a blue blood bath
to view this weekend. Blue Blood's Oklahoma and Texas will
be taken on Alabama and Georgia respectively this Saturday. I
asked coach knu Heizel about.

Speaker 6 (20:01):
The matchups, incredible blue blood matchups and for the boys
that are coming from the Big twelve, there must wins
If they find ways to win both at Georgia and
at Alabama, they'll be right back in that College Football playoff.
They're sitting right off the right off the line of

(20:22):
demarcation there because an ACC team and a group of
five team have to be in there. They were ranked
eleven and twelve last week, so they are right on
the cusp of getting there, and these would be signature wins.
Neither of them can really afford a loss, given that
they've fought. Both lost twice. Oklahoma of course, having one

(20:43):
of those losses against Texas just behind Texas, but both
have stalwart defenses and these are going to be great games.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
USC is coming off a nice win over Northwestern. They've
got Oregon looming though. Is this a trap game against
I mean, normally trapped games aren't against ranked opponents who
are coming off a pretty solid effort against Oregon. But nonetheless,
are they going to be looking ahead to the Ducks.

Speaker 6 (21:10):
If this game were in Kinnick Stadium, I would be
taking in Iowa all day long. But because it's in
the Coliseum, I think se will have enough in their offense.
They handled Michigan, which is a pretty stout defense at home.
I think that they'll handle business against Iowa.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Full conversation with coach new Eisel that we had on
Tuesday available at ninety three to three KJR dot com.
And we'll have our big ten pickups in preview segment
today at eight forty five, and we'll hear from Cam
Cleveland about the Huskies and the boiler Makers at eight
o'clock in the Friday OCHO. But yeah, we're getting We're
getting to it now, We're getting to it.

Speaker 6 (21:52):
Yeah we are.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
I mean, that's an olympree. That's a playoff game for Oklahoma.
Oklahoma's got to get in, got to beat They can't
lose again. Texas might be able to lose because they
still have to face Georgia this Saturday and Texas A
and M. I mean, and if they can win one
of those two, then even with three losses, they might

(22:14):
have the resume to still get into the tournament. But
those are two games that we wouldn't have had if
Oklahoma and Texas didn't join the SEC. Even though I
still hate it. All right, let's play some factor fiction.
Where's that to go?

Speaker 5 (22:29):
Glad you're with us, it's your shot at our weekly
thousand bucks and the ten.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
Thousand dollars grand prize.

Speaker 5 (22:35):
It's Factor Fiction, probably presented by Lucky Eagle Casino and
hotel where every Day Feels Lucky. Fact Door Fiction is
on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJR FM.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
You know what I said, I didn't know where Ashley
was going. I really don't know where Ashley is going
with it. Ashley didn't know where she was going. Oh okay,
all right, she's got figured out. Where are you going?

Speaker 7 (23:00):
We're going to the NFL and I actually had this
game as one of the possibilities the last time I picked.
No one's picked it yet, and I'm still feeling pretty
good about it. So Cincinnati's heading to Pittsburgh, little Bengals
Steelers matchup.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
Bengals beat them the first time they did and it
was a very close game.

Speaker 7 (23:16):
And Cincinnati does not have a good record, but they
have kept most of their games very close. Okay, they
are six point underdogs at Pittsburgh, and I feel that
as a little much.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Give me Cincinnati plus the six at Pittsburgh. I wouldn't
be surprised if they want out right, I would hope
they will, and then I'll be extra right. Do we
get points for being extra right, yeah, make it not close,
but you will take the points. I will, okay, And
it's six six okay, So there you go. There's your pick.
Ashley is saying that there's no way that the Steelers

(23:49):
are beating the Bengals by six points or more this Sunday.
I don't care if it is at home. So Flacco
versus Rogers again, combined age. And I don't know if
I've got the math right of a thousand and six years?
Oh is it off a little bit? Well? That does

(24:10):
in factor into factor fiction. The one was that did
you carry the one I did? I did several times.
I think. All right, So the Cincinnati Bengals getting six
at Pittsburgh, that is the pick. If you agree with it,
text fact to four nine four five one. If you
disagree with it, text fiction to four nine four five one.
If you're right, we enter your name into a drawing

(24:32):
at the end of the week. And oh, by the way,
it's the end of the week, so you're running out
of opportunities to get into this drawing for one thousand
dollars in cash. Every time you're right, we put your
name into that hat for that drawing. So make sure
you're playing every single time we play, and no time
like the present Cincinnati Bengals getting six at Pittsburgh. Ashley

(24:55):
says they're at least going to cover. They might even
win outright. If you agree fact to four nine four
five one. If you disagree, it's fiction to four nine
four to five to one, and ten thousand dollars could
be yours if you end up winning Factor fiction this year.
Right here at kja R. It's all brought to you
by our brand new sponsor, Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel.

(25:18):
They're going twenty four the Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel
back to twenty four hour gaming every Friday and Saturday,
slots and jackpots all night long. Details at Lucky Eagle
dot com are slots, right, I did say slots?

Speaker 1 (25:34):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (25:35):
I think sure? Yeah, okay, yeah, I guess I could
emphasize the O a little bit more, just a little
a little slots and jackpotts.

Speaker 7 (25:44):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Nailed it. Slots, slots, spots and jack putts.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
All right. Coming up next, more on the Seahawks and
the Rams. Something that the Rams have never been able
to prepare for, the email worry effect. Next on KJR,

(26:20):
Chuck Powbuggy Jacobson and Ashley Ryan with you the Friday,
Oh Chow comes your way at the top of the hour,
eight o'clock. We do it every Friday. Also, Hugh Millan
will be with us x's and o's at nine Mike
Holmgrian at nine thirty Plenty to discuss with those gentlemen
about the Seahawks Rams on Sunday. Two teams, man, I mean,
they're just flying high into this. I mean, we got
a matchup of two teams tied at the top of

(26:42):
the division half more than halfway through the season. They're
both top five in offense, both top five and defense.
They're smoking their opponents as of late. So they're not
just coming in on winning streaks. They're coming in having
dominated their most recent opponents and so and they're just
two teams flying high heading into Sunday in Los Angeles.

(27:04):
And it really does mean. I mean, I know that
Bucky and Ashley don't think that I do enough on
the draft. Definitely not. I think that, I mean, they
try to push me to go further this year, further, buddy,
But I think that I put a nice amount of

(27:25):
draft coverage out there for this show.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
I think it's definitely sufficient.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
I mean, you could probably do a little more, but
it really does. I mean, it is really is the key.
And I realized that they traded for Matthew Stafford and
they've signed Avante Adams this offseason, and they certainly have
done a good job outside of the draft, which you
also have to add that touch to completing your roster.

(27:53):
But my goodness, the Rams and back to back drafts
added that Byron Young in the third round in twenty
twenty three, and then Kobe Turner later in the third round.
And in the next year they got Jared Vers in
the first, Braden Fisk in the second, Kenchin's in the
like the fifth, Kobe Durant. During that, I mean, in

(28:15):
a two year stretch, they added six starters to their
defense in the draft, a defense that is a top five,
maybe top two defense in the entire National Football League.
And look what John Schneider's done in the last couple
of drafts as well. I mean our draft this year,

(28:35):
I mean, we might be talking about eventually one of
the great drafts in the history of this franchise. The
way that Zabel is not giving up a sack so
far this year and nick Eman Woorri to get him
early in the second round. And believe me, there are
really smart people named Hugh Millen and others that think
nick Emon Wari is not just going to be a star,

(28:58):
is already a star and might end up being a superstar.
So you do do still have to build through the draft,
a man, these two teams have knocked that out.

Speaker 4 (29:06):
Of the park here the last couple of years. Yeah,
the I mean it's every sport. I think you better
be good in the draft or you're gonna have some
off seasons because inevitable you can't keep If you do
well one year or two years and all of a
sudden you have some budding stars and eventual stars, then
you have to pay iman. Especially in a game like
the NFL where there's a salary cap, you can't keep

(29:27):
them all and so you better replenish what you lose.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
The Rams have done well.

Speaker 4 (29:32):
I mean, it wasn't that long ago that we were
talking about how does this team just keep doing like
it felt like they were kicking the can down the road,
or that eventually this has to come to an end.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
And they were absolutely going to be facing a rebuild.
But when you draft as well as they've drafted, you
get to skip that part. And they even lost Aaron
Donald and unexpectedly in this process, who were probably gonna
sign before the game tomorrow, so he can wreck their craft.
But I mean, when you draft that, well, guess what,
you don't have to suffer the pains of rebuilding. Yeah,

(30:04):
but how many people draft that?

Speaker 1 (30:06):
Well?

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Good lord?

Speaker 4 (30:07):
Yeah, well they went, they won the Super Bowl and
then basically the next year they had the Super Bowl hangover,
and you thought, oh, here, there it is. Now they're
going to have to rebuild, and they boom right back
to like ten and seven and making the playoffs and
winning games in the playoffs, and yeah, it's it's hard
to imagine I'm going through what would be a rebuild, but.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Essentially all it was was a reload, and Nakua in
that process just let's just grab him in the fifth
round in twenty twenty three. I didn't even put him
down on the list.

Speaker 7 (30:39):
Yeah, he's been pretty decent.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
My word. That's that's some drafting right there. That's some
fancy ass drafting right there. Sneadah, Yeah, jerks, But we've
been doing pretty well ourselves the last couple of drafts.
Now that we got that Carol guy out.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Of the way.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
Oh, poor Uncle Pete. So true. But this is something
that is you don't have to prepare for an emon
worry every week. I mean, this guy is just I mean,
he's tack He has a sack last week. He led
us and tackles last week with nine. He led us

(31:15):
in solo tackles with five. He had two. Another pressure
on the quarterback. He was defending running backs coming out
of the backfield. He was running, he was defending tight
ends going across the middle. He can cover receivers if
you need him. To hell with some of these physical
wide receivers the Rams have. We might see Eman Worri

(31:37):
lock up against one of them a time or two.
I mean, it's just incredible what this young man can do.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Well.

Speaker 4 (31:43):
His physical stuff is something that we heard about or
even knew about, with your you know, barely sufficient draft
information that we got.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
You know, everybody knew this guy was something a step
up barely sufficient.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
But I still use sufficient plus might be the right
word for it. But well, well that's neither here nor there.
I would say that I think his athletic stuff is
something and yet you kind of thought, Okay, coming in,
how long is it gonna be for him to pick
up all the stuff that Mike McDonald and this defense requires.
And yet Greg was reporting to us like early in

(32:18):
training camp, and we could see it ourselves like, doesn't
look like it's don't take him any.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
Time at all.

Speaker 4 (32:23):
There was a couple of weeks ago where he made
that one tackle we talked about a little bit where
it was like he was shedding a block with one
arm and then just tackled Deebo Samuel.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
Deebo Samuel with one arm, not too too at well, yeah,
Deebo friggin' Samuel. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (32:35):
And so I mean he does some special things, and
yet you kind of feel like, Okay, when is the
time that a you know, somebody on the other side
is going to see some sort of deficiency something that
he does, a rookie thing where he has a tendency
to fall for this and then they take advantage of it.
This will be a good week to see if because
you know that a guy like McVeagh is going to

(32:56):
be like, Okay, where's the pigeon?

Speaker 2 (32:57):
Is he not going to be the pigeon? No, I'll
promise you but he might find a crack in his game,
but he ain't going to be no pigeon. No, well,
he's not going to go after him all the time.

Speaker 4 (33:05):
But there could be a few plays where it sets
up like we're going to do this, and then we're
going to do it again. And then I have a
feeling that regardless of how those two plays go, he's
going to do that again, and we're going to do
this on it, We're going to have this type of thing.
I would be willing to bet there's going to be
something where you're not going after this guy, but you're
hoping to maybe set up some sort of tendency. But

(33:25):
as up to this point, you know, when he's been healthy,
he's been on the field, he's been an impact maker.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
Sure, I have just as much faith, if not more faith, Ashley,
that it's Mike McDonald that's going to use Emon Worry
to expose some cracks in the Rams offense. Yeah, just
as much, maybe not more, but just as much faith. No,
And I would think so too.

Speaker 7 (33:44):
And I think you know, you could see how much
McDonald was itching to get Emon Worri back after he
went out so quickly to start the season.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
Nil to the Yeah.

Speaker 7 (33:52):
Yeah, so now imagine, oh gosh, that doesn't make me
sad to imagine like what he where he could be
had Mike McDonald had those extra four was it four
five games?

Speaker 2 (34:01):
Yeah? I think it was like two or three. Okay, yeah,
that's in front of me.

Speaker 7 (34:05):
Yeah, I don't either, But I just it's been fun
to see already how far he's come, just in this situation,
and I this is where he's gonna pull out all
the stops on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
Oh man, this is chess match, this is this is
what's fun about sports. As Bucky often says, people that
don't like sports are weird, all right? Coming up next Friday,

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
