(00:00):
Where we go, where do westart? Like, what's the bigger story
man? The Mariners tonight the finalfour game series of the first half of
the year against the Anaheim Angels, who are awful. Jason Kahanowitz. I
think I went to Sunday school witha kid named Jason Kahanowitz making his major
league debut for the Angels, andyou know how that sometimes goes when there's

(00:22):
no book on a guy. Sometimesit's kind of hard and the pitcher has
the advantage. But a four gameset with the Angels today, the Jamal
Adams era in Seattle is officially over. If there was any concern about the
Hawks doing something crazy and bringing himback to play for the Seahawks, I
mean, I guess that could happennext year, but for now, he's
a Tennessee Titan. Bill Belichick, you saw this is gonna be on Inside

(00:45):
the NFL. Remember watching inside theNFL as a kid on HBO all the
time. I cannot have HBO whenI was a kid, all right,
well, but it was a bigdeal watching inside the NFL. You know
who's got inside the NFL and housethe c W as inside the nflhi is
And I have not seen an episodeof it. I haven't either. I
didn't know it still existed. Well, look, I mean there's a lot

(01:06):
of ways to watch NFL coverage now, and the idea of the magazine show
like Baseball Tonight back in the daywas a big deal. You turn on
ESPN in the middle of March orlate February, hear that da da da
da da da. That's a signthat baseball is on the way. Man,
those days are kind of you wouldwait for forty minutes until they if

(01:27):
the Mariners won, right, youwould wait forty minutes and watch that damn
show until they showed the Mariner highlightsbecause you wanted your team to be shown
winning on national television. That's howbig Baseball Tonight was thirty years ago.
Let me ask both of you guysthis, Like, you know Sports Center,
for example, how often do youwatch Sports Center? I used to
watch it religiously when I was younger, religiously every single night would watch Sports

(01:52):
Center. I haven't watched an episodeof Sports Center in probably five years.
How often do you watch that?Once a year after to the Super Bowl.
That's it, that's it, that'sit, because I get all the
high the reason I watched Sports Centerwas for highlights. Now I go to
YouTube's and various apps and watch thehighlights there, and I never would turn
on at sports. I enjoy ourguy of am. I thinking I enjoy

(02:16):
Scott Van Pelp's Sports Center because hebrings a little talk showy into it.
It's like highlights. Well, Igotta tell you, if you want to
highlight zing, check your cell phone. Boom done. Yes. Like I'm
driving in and I hear this newsabout Paul Skins today who got yanked after
ninety nine pitches a baseball and thenwell nineteen eighties just laughing at us,

(02:37):
Like really, I mean, don'tthree eras laugh. Don't ever tell me
that no hitters are a big deal, because they're just not. And first
of all, we had this conversationI think was it last year or two
years ago, when it felt likeevery week there was a no hitter in
Major League Baseball? And now yougot managers and I realize why they did
it because Paul Skeins has been bangedup. I think he missed the entire
month of April. He's pretty importantfor Pittsburgh, but come on, guys,

(02:58):
can you not put him out there? For the eighth and just see
what happens. Can you get acouple of quick outs and maybe then you
yank him If that doesn't, that'snot like he had one hundred and fifteen
pitches. I mean, it's justjust ridiculous. I mean, the idea
of the no hitter and the perfectgame is still a big deal. There's
been like, what twenty eight ofthem whatever it is, I'm not sure
how many, but it's very fewin baseball. So please don't tell me
the no hitter is a big dealbecause the teams don't even think they're a

(03:20):
big deal when guys are getting yankedafter nine to nine pitches. But I
heard this news today and I cometo a stop light because I never ever
check my phone while I'm driving.Ever ever, I would never, ever,
ever do that, in no way, come to a complete stop,
put the car park, and Iturned the engine off, and I checked
the phone and boom, there's apul Skins highlight right there. Why do
I have to watch Sports Center tonightwhen it's right in front of my face?

(03:43):
No, you don't, And Idon't watch it for highlights. I
just watch it for the comments. There's a big story and I want to,
you know, get coverage from areporter or what have you. But
right sports Center is one of thosethings I'll be flipping past, and if
my other shows that I'm watching arein commercial, then I then I'll hit
sports Well, speaking of big news, this actually came down yesterday. It
was great that you and I wereon the air fort step one of the

(04:05):
nine part Softy plan to have Dickand Softie on the air when the Soups
come back one day, and stepone was yesterday. As you may know,
the NBA reaching finalizing an eleven year, seventy six billion dollar media rights
deal with ESPN, Amazon and NBC. TNT may be a part of it,

(04:27):
We'll have to wait and see.So this news came down yesterday,
and automatically the Softie and Dick darding ding ding goes up and we start
thinking about, well, what doesthat mean for us? Right? What
does that mean for the return ofSonic basketball? Because let's face it,
guys, in the end, allof this is really about us. That's
all we care about is what doesthis mean for the Sonics? How many
moves have been made, how manyhirings, firings, announcements, whatever,

(04:53):
have come down in the last sixteenyears with the NBA, and all of
us just say, well, whatdoes that mean for us? Well,
now, the question of what doesit mean for us? I think is
more appropriate now than ever, atleast in the last sixteen years. Okay,
So we had Chris Daniels Channel fourComo News TV reporter, investigator extraordinary

(05:15):
or the King of the Mountain, the heavyweight champ of investigative reporters in this
city, the best we have tooffer on the radio show yesterday answering all
the questions we had regarding the returnof Sonic basketball. You tell me after
hearing this, okay, if youdon't get a little bit emotional and a
little bit fired up that the wait, boys and girls is about to come

(05:39):
to an end. What does AdamSilver's timeline look like now that this media
deal is done? He said backon June sixth that once the deal is
done, they're not going to snaptheir fingers, so to speak, and
announce expansion, but there would bean expansion committee that would be formed of
NBA owners. So you start layingout this timeline now, and we do

(06:01):
have historical reference and the last timethe NBA did this that say they get
the deal signed off, announce ithere by the end of this month.
We're talking somewhere in the August toOctober timeframe of announcing an expansion committee.
And the last time the NBA formallyexpanded was December eighteenth, two thousand and

(06:24):
two for the Charlotte then Bobcats twoyears later, so they had less than
a two year runway to start theteam. So if Adam Silver is leading
everybody down this path and says thatthey're going to form an expansion committee and
then turn to expansion, we arelooking at by the end of this year
having some sort of announcement about Seattleand Vegas presumably together for a start.

(06:46):
Yeah, twenty twenty six, Well, you just answered my question, because
that was going to be my question. I've been telling people that will listen
that I think by the end ofthe year we're going to know by the
end of twenty twenty four, andyou laid it out right there perfectly that
we very well could know by theend of the year. So I guess
the question then becomes, do westart talking ownership, do we start talking

(07:11):
structure? David Bonderman majority owner,Does Bezos have any role whatsoever. Are
those premature discussions, Chris sur Doyou believe it's appropriate to start having those
conversations. No, it's appropriate tohave those conversations. And you know lurking
in the background here in the lastweek the Boston Celtics up for sale.
Fifty one percent of that franchise isbeing sold this year according to their managing

(07:35):
general partner. We know David Bondermanhas a minority share there that he would
need to divest before he is anowner in any way, shape or form
for an expansion franchise. So Ibelieve that is all interconnected. As far
as Amazon with being a potential mediarights partner here with the NBA. We

(07:55):
know Andy Jassey, the current CEO, as a minority investor in the crack.
We know that Amazon has the namingrights on the arena for a climate
plague arena. So all of thosepieces of the puzzle do fit together.
Whether anybody can write that potentially fouror five billion dollar check for an expansion
franchise, I don't think any oneperson is going to be doing that.

(08:16):
I know that there have been meetingswith investors around town and potential investors around
town to try and put that moneytogether for the expansion franchise. But Bonderman
his daughter Samantha Holloway, who hasbeen actively involved as an owner of the
Kraken, both names that have beendiscussed here locally as being involved with a

(08:37):
new Sonyx franchise, And there havebeen a lot of meetings over the course
of the past year here in Seattleon a civic level. The mayor has
already said he's been having weekly meetingson this. So a lot of things
have been quietly happening behind the scenesto get ready for a announcement by the
NBA Commissioner of an expansion committee. If we know by the end of this

(09:01):
year, by the end of twentytwenty four, should Sonic fans expect that
it's going to be the twenty fiveto twenty six season, the twenty six
twenty seventh season. When should peopleexpect to be able to walk into Climate
Pledge Arena in realistic terms? AndI won't hold you to this and watch
that team play again, we're talkingabout twenty six twenty seven season, a

(09:24):
two year runway. Think about whatthe Kraken had before their initial season and
the expansion draft and all the otherfranchises, dealing with salary cap and financial
ramifications, all that kind of stuff. Other teams are going to want a
two year runway to plan for thatand the contracts of existing players. I
would tell you this off the andI appreciate what you said there. This

(09:46):
is a story that transcends sports. It's about civic priority, it's about transportation,
it's about what people care about ina very diverse city. And I
think that's why this story has readdoated with so many people, and a
lot of Seattle Hites feel like thiscity got a raw deal back when they
gave up the Sonics for forty fivemillion dollars, and that franchise is now

(10:09):
worth three billion dollars. It wasa hell of a deal for Clay Bennett.
It was a bad deal for thecity of Seattle, although they paid
off the Key Arena debt. AndI think that's why a lot of people
have paid attention to this over years. Now sixteen years that we're going and
we know eighteen years if we wantto talk about when Clay Bennett bought the
team from Howard Schild. So itdoes sound like we're in the home stretch.

(10:31):
Who knows we're going to have ahiccup here down, you know,
in terms of financing putting that moneytogether. But every indication over the last
year from Adam Silver, from theNBA League office is they get this TV
digital rights deal and they turned toexpansion and there are two cities that they
have in mind, and we knowthat both those cities have arenas that can

(10:52):
host NBA teams. Right now, what's the purpose of the expansion committee then
that this is a done deal.I think that there have been owners.
I think when you hear Adam Silversay the things that he has said publicly,
there, just like David Stern beforehim, there are reasons for those
statements that are external and internal, and I don't think he has had necessarily

(11:18):
internal support to expand When he firststarted talking about it back in December of
twenty twenty, when the NBA washaving financial difficulties, that's when he's when
he floated the trial balloon, andthen that trial balloon popped after a year.
So having an expansion committee that ismade up of five owners, potentially

(11:39):
including Clay Bennett, would allow themto have a conversation for a couple of
months. But those conversations have alsobeen happening for a year, two years.
Yeah, and it's just going tobe a matter of Hey, at
our Board of Governers, meaning inOctober, let's form a committee and maybe
by December announce those franchises. Ithink it would be a quick, pretty

(12:03):
quick process. But there will bea process, just like we saw in
the NHL. Hey, I knowwe're late for a break, Chris,
real quick? Do they get thehistory back? Remind people that agreement and
how that works. Well, rememberthere was a deal with with the Hanson
group back in twenty thirteen that itwould be a team named the Sonics.
By all indications, Clay Bennett stillowns his professional basketball team ll T still

(12:26):
owns all of that. Clay Bennetthas not had a thrill back night,
has not done anything with the SuperSonicsname down in Oklahoma City, all of
those banners, the trophy, itis here in Seattle. Mohai has an
under lock and key. They'll bethe SuperSonics, they'll be the Green and
Gold. It'll be the Sonics, and Clay Bennett will give that up as
part of this whole process. Bythe way, has anybody actually ever been

(12:50):
to Mohai? Have you been thereto the Museum of History and Industry.
Back in high school or middle schoolfield, ye have been. I haven't
taken kids deal. I need todo that. I have time to go.
I gotta take the kids there.Well, it might be time for
us to go and maybe get onefinal look at those banners in that trophy
before it ends up going over toClimate Pledge Arena. So they should be

(13:13):
promoting that, hey, before itgoes up, come sing it over here,
because I haven't been there in forever. But that felt and I said
this yesterday on the radio show thatthat those proclamations, if you will,
and that analysis from Chris Daniels. He's talking the twenty six twenty seventh season
with an announcement potentially by the endof this year. And I said this
to Dick on the air, andyou two, Jackson, this kind of

(13:35):
felt like this is getting real now. Did you have that same sense after
that? I absolutely did. Theone thing about the twenty six twenty seven
I would question is if they're goingto bring in two at the same time.
Now, they could do a VegasSeattle separate like they did in hockey,
and then we would obviously be readyfor twenty six is Vegas going to

(13:56):
be ready for twice? I don'tknow. I don't know. There's no
arena, no no, So howdo you build an arena and get a
team ready in two years? Andtwo years? So now they can't use
the Night's arena? I mean,I guess temporarily they can. They could
do that, right, Yeah?I think with the is it the Oakview
group? Is that right? That'sbehind? Isn't Lebron like a part of
that? Then they read Lebron's apart of that that they're building a brand

(14:16):
new arena, and I don't knowwhere they are with that, but I
think that the NBA would like tobring both teams in together. But if
they can't, they can't, right. I mean, the last time they
expanded was just one team was Charlotte, and that made it thirty teams.
If I'm not mistaken. They're twentynine before that, and then Charlotte came,
remember the Hornets. But here's thedeal, whether it's twenty six,

(14:37):
twenty seven or twenty seven to twentyeight, there's going to be a period
of time and maybe it's two years, maybe it's three years. Right like
the Kracker we're supposed to launch andthen COVID got in a way and that
didn't happen. Where we just spendtime cleaning up the house, getting ready
for the party, buying new furniture, putting new stuff on the wall.
Maybe a couple people turned twenty oneduring that time spend. Now they can

(15:00):
drink when the party starts. Ican't wait for that. I can't wait
for that countdown to game one, because that is gonna be something to be
hold. Man, we're gonna break. We'll come back and talk about about
this. Mariners tonight against the Angelsas well. Jamal Adams is gone Donezo

by the way, this iteration ofeqc no contest, and I hate to

(16:32):
say it. We are one hundredpercent today so far. Oh a lot
of pressure, man. Why didyou have to tell me that? Because
Jesus aren't real, Jinxes aren't real. That's like one that's one out.
That's one out of any ninth, man, that's one out in the ninth
real time out, time out.Just a second here, you're telling me
Jinxes aren't real when it directly impedeslike what you're trying to do. I

(16:55):
got you guys busting my balls forTony Soprano. You're telling me jinxes ain't
real. I'm sayings aren't real.Aren't real, Dick. I don't understand
the irrational anger with Safti's tweet A. It was a good tweet at the
time. It was totally fine, and it's obviously I don't think any Mariners
are going to like see it andeffect have their play affected by the tweets.
They're telling me jinxes aren't real. You're getting on me for the Tony

(17:18):
Soprano thing. We need, youknow what we need. We got to
come to a consensus as a show. Do jinxes exist? Four nine,
four five one, no hitters, perfect games, uh, premature calls,
takes on social media? Do jinxesactually exist? Because I gotta tell you
what you just said there about theplayer seeing this stuff. Look, I'm
not trying to act like the Marinersjumped online after that game when they were

(17:42):
ten games up and said let's partyby checking. I don't think Safti thinks
it's over, so it's definitely, but enough people think that way and enough
people tell them that, and theyhear that from enough people. That's if
there's no chance that maybe that couldpotentially impact. That's the difference. I'm
saying. If it does not affecttheir play, then a jinx is not

(18:06):
real. If it affects a player'splay, then we're talking about something.
It's not even jinx anymore at thatpoint. It's a it's a player's mindset
affecting how they're doing. So,I mean, yeah, jinks like of
us of me saying right there,we're one hundred percent for the day.
I don't even know who the fourpm contestant is going to be that we
give out the name in twenty sevenmins. I know he's not gonna call,
but that's right, that's the thingsaying that Me saying that has zero

(18:30):
effect on a person calling back ornot. I don't believe that. Why
because jinx is are real and you'rewrong. But you didn't give me some
sort of actual tangible thing in thesolar system. Okay, yes, sure,
let's wait to thanks scientists. We'regonna find out if they don't call
at four o'clock, I don't evendo you need proof it's not it's not

(18:52):
actual proof. They don't call itfour o'clock. We're gonna hammer you on
the air, sure the air,all right, whatever, I just say
this, don't mess with a winningstreak, all right? And you just
messed with a winning streak. You'venever gone to a game and put a
rally cap on ever, things likethat. I mean, like that,
that's just everybody else is doing it. I try to throw the mojo on

(19:14):
women at the free throw line allthe time. That's right, she's perfect
eight for eight on the line, actually a lot. And Alisa look at
me and go dot her. Youever ever watched a Storm game on TV
and see did like from the sideline? That's why he's doing that show the
Chris Daniels conversation from last segment.I gotta be honest with you. I

(19:36):
was over at Simply Seattle today attheir mothership, which is the happiest place
on Earth. I mean, it'sit's like Disneyland for sports fans. We
can arrange that. There's also nothingin that store I don't want except for
the Gonzaga stuff that I saw.I'll have that, Okay. Yeah,
there's like there's like a little cornerthey've carved out a little corner. Jamie
needs more than a little Ford Gonzagaand they got like a couple of hats.

(20:00):
I think there's like an old beermug or whatever, but that's it.
But we were over there today. We're talking about everybody being ready and
prepared for when the SuperSonics actually comeback, and I don't know, I
mean our fans starting to kind ofwhatever this looks like from a fan's perspective,
because it's different for us in theindustry, like we got to prepare

(20:21):
for shows and guests and giveaways andblah blah blah. We can't just wait
until that day. And I'm notsure. Maybe it's a fan just finding
his favorite chair you or getting inposition, moving has took us around whatever,
getting his favorite sonic gear out ofmothballs right from the closet, from
the attic and putting that stuff on. Is it fair to say and whatever
this says to you, than findto find it the way you want that.

(20:41):
We're kind of getting in position nowfor this to have. Yes,
I think position is a good celebration. Is premature? Getting in position is
absolutely the term for it is.I mean, obviously you can buy sonic
stuff whenever you want. But Ithink the celebratory mass buyd when Jamie becomes
a richer man than he already is. Yes, will be loaded, will

(21:04):
be the week the week immediately followingAdam Silver taking the podium and saying we're
expanding to Seattle in Vegas? Whatwhat is the traffic on their website that
gate that day're gonna be like whenwhen he comes to when they come out
and say they're coming back, andthen simply it's just like shuts down right,
I'm sorry, this cannot load.I mean their server is gonna blow,

(21:27):
It's going to explode. He needsto invest in bigger servers. Yes,
they've got to go to Elon orsomebody and try to find go get
hal from two thousand and one andget that thing running because people will visit
that website. I don't know ifthere is a larger locally based Sonic retailer
in the world than simply Seattle, right, I mean, you got like

(21:48):
fanatics and stuff. They do theirnational stuff, but from a local perspective,
nobody does a bigger here we knowthat. Is there even a competitor
simply Seattle, I don't even know. Yeah, there's places that sell stuff,
I mean occidental, right, acouple of prices, but not like
those are like individual just stores right, yeah, they've gotten multiple stores or
online. Business is gigantic and whata commercial for simply Seattle. By the

(22:10):
way, they should be paying usfor this. Wait they do, it's
on the way. I just thinkit's time for fans to start to kind
of be prepared for this. Andagain, I'm not asking you to go
out and get a tattoo to commemoratethe day. You want to do that,
that's fine, But I'm starting toget prepared. Dick Jackson, all
of us are starting to get inposition, jocking for position, to make

(22:32):
sure that you're ready when this happens, because you'll you'll be proud as hell
right when it comes down. Whenthe day it comes down, you'll be
proud as hell. You'll be beamingwith sonic pride. You want to show
off your gear. How many peoplestill have stuff from sixteen years ago?
I've held on to a couple ofstill a couple of things. I have
a lot of stuff, but Iwas way too fat back then. It'd

(22:52):
be like we're in a tent.I might take it to a what do
you call it a tailor. Yes, thank you. Take it to a
tailor and get it, get itresized. I want to put my old
stuff on. I want to putmy you know, nineteen ninety six Sonic
T shirt with the cartoon logo thatwe love so much from that finals year.
I'd like to know from hot hardcorehockey fans out there, what was
the date that you celebrated, right, because that's what it's going to be

(23:15):
for me, Like, was itthe day when we saw Gary Bettman and
you and I went and did theshow down at Henry's Tavern in South Lake
Union when oh, yeah, GaryBettman did Was was that thing? Forgot
about? It? Was that thedate? Because I rolled in there think
knowing, Okay, well we alreadyknow why we're here. This isn't a
surprise. So for hardcore hockey fan, you're a lifelong t Birds season ticket

(23:37):
holder or whatever, you've been waitingforty years for an NHL team, what
was the date where you celebrated likecrazy, You're like, oh my god,
we have a we have a hockeyteam. So four nine, four
or five one, if you couldgive me, like, give me an
idea of when that date is goingto come for me. Well, and
we knew it that morning when wewoke up that they were having a press
conference to announced expansion. Right, you know, nobody was going to go

(23:59):
to a TV and they say,we like to award our next franchise to
Yeah, come on, we allknew it was going down, So maybe
there. I mean for me,it'll be I'll tell you exactly what it
will be is when I see theWOJ bomb on social media, or the
Chris Daniels bomb or the shams Charaniamissile shams will come a couple hours later,
Yeah whatever, whatever that is?All right, job, whatever that

(24:19):
looks like, well here's the delayedrim shot for shams. But that's when
we'll find out, right, likewe're gonna find out on social media.
Breaking news NBA officially approves expansion toSeattle beginning in the twenty twenty six twenty
seven season. Or breaking news NBAExpansion Committee set to meet this afternoon expected

(24:41):
to approve expansion to Seattle. Right, that's how this will go. That's
how that's how everything goes. Now, and when you see that, you'll
start balling like a baby and you'llstare at the computer screen for an hour
and you'll take a screenshot of thatand save it forever. We should do
a closest to the pin contest thedate and time of said tweeting when he's
in tickets for the first year.Courtesia Jackson felt, Yeah, yeah,

(25:03):
he's in tickets. I know, simply Seattle wants to do something. But
we'll do that as we kind ofget closer to this, we'll do some
kind of a contest to predict theday it comes down. But for me,
that's when I think things will reallystart to count. The tears will
flu when that happens. All Right, Fun with Audio coming next on ninety
three three KJRFM. It's now timefor something in Dick's Fun with Audio.

(25:23):
Jimmy g pawn Star, Jimmy mistergaroppolo. Now let's have some fun with
audio. All right back here ina busy Thursday after noon, e Saffie,
Dick Jackson right here on ninety threethree KJRFM. Here it is the
segment everybody has been waiting for.And that's a fact. By the way,
the entire audience is sitting around goingwin this Fun with Audio. Get

(25:44):
to it, you jerks. Herewe go. Dick did you happen to
hear that? What's that? What'sthat? Dick? We start with Yesterday's
Michael Kaye Show on ninety eight pointsstuff. By the way, is it
hot as hell in here or isit just me? Well, it's about
ten degrees more than it is outthere, But I'd rather have it be
in here than i'll there. Yeah, he's not smoking. It's like a
sixty out there if I take myshirt off. By the way, you're
right with that. Yesterday's Michael Kay'sshow and put that thought in your head.

(26:07):
On ninety eight point seven ESPN inNew York, the Yankee broadcaster responds
to a caller Mike and New Jerseywho said that Michael kay never ever ever
criticizes the Yankees. Can you willnever beig? Michael kay will never criticize
the Yankees. Probably hang up onme, but never you want me to,
you know what, chuck off.You want me to hang up on
you, don't you. I'm notgoing to hang up on you. I'm
gonna let you spill your nonsense. All I do is sit here and criticize

(26:32):
the Yankees every day. Are you? Are you hard of hearing? Are
you hard of hearing? Mike, what do you say about Boon? What
do you say about that? Itell you he is managing and no,
no, are you a Mett fanneryYankee fan? You have met Fannery fan
fan? What are you? You'rea Yankee fan. I have said that
Boone Action concert with the front office. I'm giving you reasons. What's going

(26:55):
on? I have said over andover they have a chance of falling out
of the postseason. What do youwant me to do? I don't understand
what you want me to do,Mike. Don't find it somewhere else.
Don't find it somewhere else. Tellme who's saying stuff like this. You'll
hang up, You'll hang up again. You want me to hang up on
you? You clown? You wantme to hang up on you. I

(27:15):
am gonna let you bury yourself.I'm not gonna hang up on you.
You deserve to be exposed as amoron. Go continue to go. You've
got the radio, Go, Mike, go. I love that. I
love that so much. Do weneed to take more calls? Probably?
I just want to do a showwhere I can just call people f heads
and things like that and move on. D brains, s bags. That's

(27:41):
all. Podcasts. They can't dothat here, no, no, no,
But there's a day coming where we'llbe able to do whatever the hell
we want. I didn't even walkthat line there, Yes he did.
I don't think he's probably that hardon me. He does the Yankee games.
Is he that hard on his radioshow? I mean, I don't
think he's ripping him per se onthe air. Everybody's gotta go boons a

(28:02):
clown, blah blah blah. They'reon pace for ninety six wins. Still,
yeah, they are, but they'vebeen terrible since the middle of June.
They were forty nine and twenty one, yes, and now they're fifty
six and thirty eight. They're sevenand seventeen. Here's in their last twenty
four game. Here's the reason theywere on pace to win one hundred and
thirteen games, right, They weren'tgoing to win one hundred and thirteen games.

(28:22):
They were naturally gonna cool down toa ninety five to one hundred win
pace. But see, you're aclown. You're not ripping them. You're
giving us a lot check. Whatthe hell's wrong with you? All right?
Hey, Dick, did you happenhere? What's that Dick. At
Big twelve media day yesterday, Coloradoquarterback Shador Sanders made headlines for saying,
I know we are everybody's super Bowl. Here was the full context of that

(28:44):
quote in terms of him operating witha certain obligation. Does that total flow
over to you as his son andbeing in the spotlight as you just entered
that it's a different level in howyou feel you have to perform. Do
you have an obligation to perform ata different level. It's been since the
one I remember first media day whenI was in HBCU, I said,
who won't lose a game? I'mundefeated in a slag, so I already

(29:08):
know what dick dictation comes with.I know where everybody's super Bowl. So
I'm really just I always stay doubleahead, to stay grounded, because I
would never want to be that guylook back and not being able to take
his ben into the moment that wehave right now. I just I don't
know. I mean, I thinkhe's he's he's the son of Deon Sanders.

(29:29):
When he sounds like Sanders. Heliterally just said we are Everybody's super
Bowl, which nobody thinks that aboutColorado. Nobody, And yet I want
to stay grounded. I mean, how cocky and arrogant can you sound in
one breath and then come back tothe other breath and say that you're humble
and you want to stay grounded. The guy makes no sense whatsoever? Can
I attempt to translate? Sure,my attempt to translate was this game was

(29:53):
him simply saying we put ourselves upon a pedestal. It is a meaningful
game when people play Colorado, regardlessof the record, because of who my
dad is, because of who Iam. And that's what makes the game
the super Yeah, because we makeit a big game, because it's run
our pie holes. Right, it'sa big game because the clowns are coming

(30:15):
to town. That's right, andyou can be I mean, I would
have laughed my ass off if Iwas there, and nobody does that.
By the way, with Dion, there's nothing I know, maybe there is,
and I apologize, But with Shadorand Dion when they and this is
a new thing now that people aredoing, not just in sports. They
feel like they can speak something intoexistence, right, and every idiot lebron
Bronny, whatever politics, we've seenthat you're expected to just believe whatever it

(30:40):
is because I said it the ballexactly, And if I were there,
I would I would have laughed.I would have said, shadure, nobody
thinks that. And if they dothink that, it's because you just run
your mouth and you make everything biggerthan it is. Are you kidding me?
I have gone from rooting for Coloradoto now hoping they lose. Beginning

(31:00):
the last year, when they wereplaying TCU in Colorado State, I was
like, this is awesome. Youremember after the TCU game, right when
they beat TCU and everyone thought,oh my god, Deon's gotta going okay.
And then what happened after that? They fell apart, totally fell apart.
So I'm with you. I've gonefrom kind of root and form to
thinking these guys are just a bunchof bozos. Man. Honestly a lot

(31:22):
of pressure on him this year.I mean, they gotta win. They
got to be a bowl team.At the very least, they got to
You have the best quarterback quote unquotein college football, which a lot of
people think shandor Sanders is Yeah, you gotta be at the very least seven
and five. And don't kid yourself. If they do make a bowl game,
Dion will act like that's the SuperBowl. He will act like they've

(31:44):
won the national title. All right, addic did you happen to here?
What's that? Did? Which? What do you want? Three or four
earlier this morning, after it wasannounced that safety Jamal Adams had signed with
the Titans, Tennessee play by playvoice Mike Keith posted this video from the
team's headquarters. I post videos totell you about significance. But rather than
me doing a video saying why didJamal Adams signing is significant to the Tennessee

(32:08):
Titans, let's ask Jamal Adams whythe signing of Jamal Adams is significant?
Leadership, swagger, energy, Believethat he doesn't know what he's talking about.
I don't know what else to tellyou. I mean, he's the

(32:28):
guy's got eight years in the NFL. He's had two teams that have turned
their back on him. One teamgave up two first round draft picks and
paid him a tremendous amount of money. The other team drafted him in the
first round, right, Jamal Adams, and both teams quit on the guy
after four years. So look,if he was a rookie coming out of
LSU, or maybe had a coupleof years in New York and they said,

(32:50):
that's it, We're done. Icould see this is eight years now,
so I mean, how far upthe Titans asked, does your head
have to be before you can justlook around and see what I mean?
What are you talking about? Man? Come on? I would add injury
and ineffectiveness as words I inscribed JamalAdams. And it makes me laugh.
How many people are on the ESPNTwitter site right now think what a great

(33:12):
signing for the Titans. Nobody thathas watched him play in the last three
years thinks this is a great signingfor the Titans. It's a great signing
if you just get something for thesmall amount of money or given him,
and you can let him go fornothing. How about are they paying the
guy if he's so gotta league minimum? That's my point. If he's so
incredible at what he does, whyis he playing for peanuts and waiting until

(33:35):
the eleventh of July to get acontract? Why was it breaking news on
ESPN? Because there's nothing else happeningin the NFL. That's it because because
the NFL's king, it's SP's day. The NFL is king. Man.
Speaking of the King. We'll getJerry Brewers take on this. We'll get
Jerry's thoughts on that as well.Coming up on ninety three three KJRFM Leadership
