(00:00):
Where we go. Here's what wegot. David Samson, our longtime friend,
the former hang on a second, former president of the Miami Marlins.
Well he'll tick on my throat there. He'll join us at four o'clock.
He's never one to hold back ona lot of issues. By the way,
he's kind of branching out. He'snot just doing baseball now. He
does a podcast. He works withthe who's the guy from what's his name?

(00:22):
Dan Let Audio? Yeah, Levatarvatar, And so he's basically says,
the whole Bronnie James thing is acircus in Los Angeles. So I can't
wait to get his thoughts on that. And then Jim Bowden, who you
know, he's also not one tohold back. We'll talk some baseball with
Jim at five o'clock tonight, andwell fun with Audio as well. You
make the call coming up at sixpm. But I don't know, man,

(00:43):
it just kind of feels like thiswhole Mariner offensive thing has become the
story dajure on this Tuesday afternoon, and everybody's on board with it. The
Mariners know it's a problem, Scott'sservis knows it's a problem. Jerry Depoto
knows it's a problem. You heardSusa. This morning, I got a
phone call a text message from AshleyRyan at like seven thirty am. By

(01:03):
the way, I slept until eighto'clock today, which I hardly ever do.
That's why we didn't get any turd. Well because Whennie at about two
o'clock in the morning, my beagle, my ten year old beagle, who
sits in bed with us. Wehave three dogs, and usually at least
two of them are in bed withus. It's why I end up on
a couch every night. I hearit about two o'clock. Get up.

(01:25):
She jumps off to bed, runsdownstairs, goes out start and starts eating
grass. You know why dogs eatgrass because they because they got a vomit.
That's why they eat grass. SoI leave her outside at about four
o'clock in the morning, I hearshe's going nuts. I'd wake up and
bring her back in the house. So I'm dog tired. I miss a
phone call from San Diego. Theguy called me four times. I hardly

(01:45):
ever do that. I felt terrible, but then I got a phone call
from Ashley who says, hey,Stephen, SUSA just called the show and
wants to go on the air.Have you heard this, By the way,
I listened to the whole segment.Do you have that clip you might
want to go ask ask ask Andrewswhere it is asked the producer of the
year over at kJ R where theclip position, Well, get it for
you. But he basically just aparaphrase. And he was on with Ula,

(02:07):
so Ashley, you know, askinghe and Okay, if we have
him on and we know he's yourguy, fine, put him on whatever.
Just mention taco time. In thefact he's on with us every money
and gives it tip exactly. Sohe goes on the ear and he basically
says, and I'm paraphrasing here thatwhen he showed up here in twenty twenty,
I think the year was that hewas here, that he was basically
told by somebody. Whatever offensive philosophyyou learn playing in places like Tampa Bay,

(02:31):
keep it to yourself. Don't tellanybody, because these guys can't handle
it in Seattle. They can't handlesomebody rocking the boat. They can't handle
somebody going against the grain. Andlook, I mean that's just one person
telling that. Desusa. When wehave Steven on Monday. Remind me we
can ask him again about a lotof his best stuff for the morning.

(02:51):
Apparently he I mean, that's kindof what I got on. Yeah,
they're not paying him in Chris Beefburritos. We are man, so we'll
have mine on Monday. Well, that's him again about that. But it's
it's it's really I don't think anybodyshould feel And guilty is the wrong word,
because who gives it? Damn we'retalking sports, for God's sakes.
We're not curing cancer or polio here, We're talking baseball. But everybody,

(03:13):
I think it's one of those dealswhere there's not much left in the world
that we can all just agree on, right, Like we can't even agree
you know what side of the planetthe sun sets on, for God's sakes,
right, can we agree that there'ssomething broken with the Mariner offensive philosophy?
Can we all just agree on that. Whether you're a service guy,
a Jerry guy, whether you're ananti service it doesn't really matter anymore.

(03:36):
All you have to do is lookat the numbers in Major League Baseball and
see the Mariners and where they rank. Ask you some ways worse than the
age the marriage are thirtieth in homebatting average. And what have I been
saying all year that, Hey,good on Jerry for building a team that
can win at Tea Mobile Park. You play eighty one games a year,
and you know they are winning theirat their ballpark. I think they have

(04:00):
like the eighth or ninth best homerecord in baseball. They're thirty and eighteen,
but they're also thirtieth in home battingaverage, they're twenty ninth in home
on ps, they're twenty eighth inhome on base percentage, and they're winning
at home because they have the numberone ERA at home in baseball, number
one, number one whip, numberone batting average. Again, So whatever
their approach is, whatever they builtto perform Dick for eighty one games at

(04:25):
Team Mobile is not working. Period. Well, we've always gotten on them.
I've gotten on them. I kindof put my anger towards Scott the
last few years, but it canextend out beyond Scott. The fact that
this team has no bounds, thatthis team, yeah, this team doesn't
start hitting until at least June,if not, if not July, and
I just feel like this is differentthis year. I mean, this seems

(04:46):
like such a deeper malaise offensively thanwhat we've seen over the last couple years,
because we at least we've seen overthe last few years two or three
guys, even when they're not hittingwell in May or June, three guys
at least have hot weeks there andkind of carry you a little bit.
And you know, we've talked about, you know what needs to happen for

(05:08):
these guys to maintain their jobs.Somebody has got to pull them out of
this. Because this is a playoffcaliber baseball team and if they don't make
the playoffs, they have a WorldSeries Championship caliber starting rotation and closer.
So if they can't even make theplayoffs and never pull themselves out of this,
what does that mean for leadership?Because what would it mean? What

(05:31):
would it mean for an offensive coordinatorin football? If you had the thirty
first or thirty second best offense consistentlyfor the first three months of a season
and then you went the entire seasonand had the thirty second, they wouldn't
have their jobs anymore. I meanthat happens all the time in the NFL.
Well, you've already fired the offensivecoordinator, You've already fired the play

(05:53):
caller of the mayor. I don'tthink he has quite as much power as
an OC and football thos. Yeah, I mean, but he's he's the
guy that is supposed to to setthis whole thing up right. It's his
baby. I mean, the hatingcoach and the offensive coordinator and the manager
and all that, and they've alreadymade the sacrifice with this guy. So
look, I mean, do Ithink that, you know, Scott and
Jerry would be on the hot seat. I mean I would think they'd be

(06:14):
on the hot seat. What doesthat mean? How much is Stanton providing?
How much are they giving them atthe deadline? And we're gonna talk
to gym at five about how difficultit's gonna be to go out and get
a bat. I think it's gonnabe. And I said this to you
yesterday, I've said this for thelast week. I think it's gonna be
insanely hard to get the bat you'relooking for. I mean, God,
I don't mean be repetitive, buthow often have we talked about that insane

(06:38):
twenty twenty two free agent class withTrey Turner and Correa and Xander Bogarts and
all those guys and they just ignoredit and they went out and got Teoscar
Hernandez, which turned out to bea pretty good trade. Then they let
him walk. So look, Imean, now you're competing. You got
twenty two I think it is Dicktwenty one to twenty two teams of thirty
teams in baseball that are within fiveand a half games of a playoff spot

(07:00):
or leading their division. That's twothirds of the league. Now, I
think that number will drop absolutely, but it always doesn't. Right. But
here's the thing. We only gotanother twenty one days until the deadline.
How much will it drop. Itmight drop to eighteen or nineteen, but
there's going to be a lot ofteams, I mean half the league,
half the league end the story willbe in a race. Now, some
of those gms may think, yeah, we're five and a half out,

(07:21):
but we're really we got no shot, right, A lot of gms may
think that. So I think it'sgoing to be hard to get the guy
you're looking for. And I justwant to just beat the drum and pound
the table over and over and overagain. These guys want to pull this
off and get this done. Thenthe guys that are here now have to
start hitting, because even if theywere hitting, even if they were doing

(07:42):
what they usually do, we stillwould be sitting here talking about adding a
bet. They had a hole inthe lineup already. Now they got like
seven of them. So if Julioand ty Franz and JP Crawford and Hanneger
and whoever's in the left, ifthey don't get their act together, there
is no baseball Jesus south there thatcan walk in here with his staff at

(08:05):
his robe and stroke his beard andtouch somebody on the head and walk across
water to save this team. There'snot anybody out there that can do that.
Now, I agree with what you'vesaid before about hey, you know,
you bring in one guy and maybehe inspires others and gives guys better
pitches to hit. But that's fine. If you got two or three guys
struggling. The entire sticking lineup isstruggling. So I just think it's about

(08:26):
the guys that are here now,Dick, or the flip side happens,
which is the disasters. Here's thedisasters. So you trade away Emerson,
Hancock and three more of your topone hundred baseball prospective prospects for you name
the guy, Robert Guerrero whomever, and he gets sucked into the abyss of
the Mariner offense. And Vladimir GuerreroJunior hits two twenty four with seven home

(08:50):
runs between now and the end ofthe year, with an ops of six
point fifty, and you win eightyseven games and you've lost four prospects doing
it. So that's that is thatguy. But hang on the guy that
you that you traded for though,Is he locked in for next year?
Yes? Okay, yes, andit's not. Yeah, that's that.
You know, you're not going tohave to trade that many guys for a

(09:13):
guy that's not locked in beyond thisyear. This season, sure, but
they're gonna be other teams. Imean, we like, for example,
Toronto and Texas aren't created equal.Even though one has forty eight losses and
one has forty nine losses. Oneof them's on their way up, and
that's the one in Art Division, and one of them is spiraling down the
drain, and that's the Toronto BlueJays. We saw that team. I
mean, it's they just beat itto out. It's not a good baseball

(09:37):
team, but we're not going tobe good baseball team right now. So
there was a bad baseball team beingbeating what is currently a bad baseball team.
So I think the Blue Jays willprobably be out of it when it's
all said and done. Now,does that mean they'll be willing to trade
Vladimir Guerrero Junior? They should beright for the right price, they should
be willing to trade Vade Guerrero Junior, and the Mariners should be willing to

(09:58):
give that price if they feel Gladis the guy that can pull him out
of this. Because what you mentionedthe free agency a couple of years ago,
that's a different story. That's money. That is the unwillingness to give
somebody eleven years, three hundred milliondollars. This is not that. This
is not giving up any money otherthan the pennies that's due on Vladimir Gaurero's

(10:20):
rest of his deal, And it'sit's about giving up prospects. And you
would think John stan would be alot more willing to give up prospects and
much less money versus no prospects anda whole boatload of money. Well,
I'm just looking at some numbers here, and you know, nobody is really
safe, even Cal Rawley is hisOPS is down almost one hundred points from

(10:41):
where it was a year ago.So he's not performing up to snuff,
and he's actually been one of yourmost reliable guys. If if I'm gonna
give you some second half numbers hereand ask you if you'd be okay with
these numbers. If Julio had anine to thirty nine ops and the second
half, would you take that?If Hanneger went to seven ninety four,
yes, If JP went to sevenfifty, if Mitch Garver went to eight

(11:05):
ninety six and ty France went toseven fifty, yes, Okay. So
that's what those guys do in thesecond half career. Now, a lot
of them didn't do it here. They did it in other places. Tho
TI did it here? It Hanneger, Well, he's been around. But
the bottom line is that, yes, Julio did. But here's the thing.
If Julio does that, that wouldmean raising his OPS three hundred points

(11:28):
where it is right now. Hannegerwould go up one hundred and seventy,
ty France would go up eighty.JP would go up fifty, and Mitch
Garver would go up almost two hundredfrom where they are right now. So
if those guys do that kind ofa jump and just do what they have
done in the second half your ninetywell, and there's your acquisitions, right

(11:48):
honestly, I mean, you wereturning in a broken Garver for a new
one. You're turning in a brokenJulio for a new one. You're turning
in a busted down Mitch Hanniger fora brand new version of him. So
that's what I'm talking about. Theseguys find a way to get their act
together. It's gonna be like bringingon five new players. Polanco, I
have no idea. Poloco just lookslike he's lost. Polaco looks like you

(12:09):
got a better chance with Jackson up. Here's the product. Though. Every
one of those guys you mentioned, except for Julio Rodrigez R on the wrong
side of thirty of course, andthey also won't I'll do it easily.
I mean, if two of themdo it, I'll be happy, right
two of them. But that thoseare the acquisitions to get those guys to
play better. And I guess thequestion is why do we believe they can

(12:30):
do it in the second half whenthey're not doing it now right either,
A the weather just stays hot,and they stay hot. Maybe they reset
at the All Star break, Juliogoes home right, has some fun,
comes back Boom new Man. Butif the approach has to change for them,
why isn't it changing now? Well, the concern is, you just

(12:50):
had a homestand where it was eightydang degrees every game and they still couldn't
hit. I mean it was midsummerweather the entire homestand and they still couldn't
put up four runs a game. Was their performance with runners on base or
scoring position? What was it lastweek? You said, I think I
still have them looking at the I'mlooking at the game the tenanting loss to

(13:13):
Toronto, and I believe the Marinersleft like thirty guys on base in that
game. I'm sorry fifteen. Theyleft fifteen guys on base and they were
two for twelve with runners in scoringposition in the in the last loss it
was what were they ten of seventyfive? I believe it was. I'm

(13:35):
looking for my for my old notes. Yea, I think you said seventy
seven. Okay, I think Isaid seventy seven. But whatever I mean
oither way, it's horrible. Solook, you know this is what it's
all about. It's all about Thisis all about these guys playing better.
This is I don't think this isabout Jerry going out and getting a guy.
I think it's going to be hardto get a guy. And even
if he does get a guy,the dudes here have got to find a
way to get their act together.I thought it was interesting what Susan said

(13:58):
yesterday about Hulio tipping the back towardthe pitcher and his stance, if you
will, the way that's a littlebit different than what it was a year
ago. Why does he see somethinglike that and the Mariners don't see that,
or if they do see it,why aren't they fixing it? Why
do we have a guy that comeson the air who runs a training academy
up in Evert, by the way, and he's telling us what who are

(14:18):
doing? Well, maybe it's maybethey're focusing the team I mean on philosophy
of hitting versus technique of hitting.I mean I can only equate it to
like a basketball analogy. Right ifI didn't work on skill development, and
I saw breakdowns and skill but Ithought, hey, my system here is

(14:39):
good enough. I don't need toworry about the skill developing part. Their
skill is good enough, my systemwill get them good shots. But if
they don't make the shots because they'rebroken at the plate, then that's the
problem. What has been our philosophyfor decades on this show about the Mariner
offense, especially when they have goodpitching, just don't suck. Just don't
suck. I mean, you don'tneed to be great. Yeah, it'll

(15:01):
just be average. Hell, Ieven take below average right with the pitching
staff as good as they are,and they've had years like this before.
The pitching staff has been really, really good and they've wasted it because the
offense has stunk. Guys, they'redoing it again. Well, they're doing
it again right in front of ourvery eyes. And I think they have
better players that are underperforming. That'sthe crazy part about it. So hold

(15:22):
that thought. We'll get a breaka little fun with audio coming up three
forty five. David Sampson, formerpresident of the Marlins. CBS sports a
ton of places you can catch Dave. He's awesome, and he'll take us

you're be unfixing by the way, everybody on this way tell you what many
things about me cannot be fixed,But my eyesight could be fixed and was
fixed by Matthew Sharp. About thatfor a text? Amonial's topic. What's
one thing about the three of usyou'd like to be have fixed? Jackson,
Me, Dick Fane. You canfix anything. I got anything?

(17:14):
Yeah? Four nine four five? One you tell us thought we got?
Yeah? Okay, do that. That's fine. You want toll In,
go ahead. You can talk aboutme and him? You how about this?
Will this make it a rule? You can't talk about yourself. You
gotta give me one thing that you'dfix about me. I gotta give you
one thing that you'd fix it.I got to and vice versa. Will
go roundtable here. All right,I'm gonna start, Okay, I'm just

(17:37):
gonna go two words, one wordfor each person that's great. Yeah,
all right, hyperactivity. Yeah me, the listeners know I'm talking you're talking
about. I'm gonna see if you'rewith me on this. I'm gonna go
with Jackson snarkiness. Oh yeah, yeah, my whole I would. Here's

(18:03):
the thing, where do you getthat from? Because I met your parents.
They're not snarky. Your parents arejust kind of blue collar, down
to earth people. Your dad's chill, your mom's chill. Are you adopted?
The hell's going on? I've beensnarky to them since I was like
five years old. I have noidea where he got it, but I've
just I've had it my whole life. I know who he is. I
just figured out who he is.He's the fat kid from the League of

(18:26):
their own with the ice cream coneturning up and down the bus. I'll
ask him to do something. No, it's unbelievable. I've just always I've
always been. I've always been justif you tell me to do something,
I'm going to say something snarky andprobably Okay, So I'm I'm too hyperactive?
Is that your point? I'm tootoo much of a of a hurricane.

(18:49):
I would just saying, like ahurricane every now and then, you
know, it's a fresh breathed, blowing like add like like, what do
you mean, what do you mean? What do you mean? HyperAct?
I think, what am I seven? He's too hyper? I think let
me jump in here because I hada similar word. I'll change my word
to patience for him, which isjust the element of like, you know,

(19:10):
we were just in there, youknow, saving some audio files,
right, and we can wait foryou know, the the outlook and the
the email update. After five seconds, it's this is way too long of
a wait. Waited five seconds Gmail? Oh no, I forgot email and
maybe I had to go to thebathroom. You never know, kind of

(19:30):
a little bit. Uh. Ifthere's one thing I can change about you,
you are the absolute worst person witha cell phone I have ever met
in my life. And we likegetting back. We had this conversation before,
you know, I send a textout this morning on the on the
text thread about David Sampson coming onat four o'clock today, and then Jackson

(19:52):
and I go back and forth andwe do other stuff and it gets buried
and you don't see it. AndI just think there's a ton of stuff
you don't see because you're you don'tyou're not paying it engine. I mean,
I'll just tell you guys, rightnow, my cell phone is attached
to my hip. Right. IfI don't get back to you within five
minutes, it's because I'm ignoring you. Right. Total sounded like the text
thread sounded to me like a volleyback between you and Jackson. Oh and

(20:17):
you can't be a part of it. Say kay, let's just say the
letter K. You're not good enoughfor that conversation. Just say kay,
that's it, Okay, you're abovethat. I'm not above that. I
just didn't think I was a partof this particular conversation. Say the letter
K. I just think the amountof stuff that you miss on your cell
phone is maddening. And the factthat you turn it off bothers memore,
Oh good for you, I stilldo good for you. Well, that

(20:38):
pisses me off. I don't anymore. But because I found out how to
do the do not disturb thing,it's not very hard and so but there's
only you just found that out now, Yes, but there's only five people
that can can contact me after tenpm. Geez, my parents in case
of emergency, right right, mywife, brother, No, my brother's

(21:00):
not on it. What about me? No? I on there? It's
wait a minute, time out ofsecond. You actually have a list of
people that can contact you, andwe are not on it. Dixon,
Aubrey, Jana and my parents. That's it. What if happens on the
show? What if something going afterten o'clock, I don't care. I'll
fight out the whole point. Jacksonand I are up slaving away man putting

(21:21):
a show together. See that's twentyfour to seven. That's just slumbering away
exactly. That's one of the greatthings about now working the morning show,
because if the morning show, anemergency could happen at ten o'clock at night,
and you would have to know,Like if somebody wasn't coming in at
five o'clock in the morning, you'dhave to know it temp you if one
of you guys doesn't show up,like Softie's got you know, syphilis,

(21:45):
and he's kidding. I gotta behonest with you. If I got syphilis,
I wouldn't be texting you guys,I got cephalus. I'll be out
tomorrow. I mean, if youtext me a PF, I got syphlos
out, I'd be like okay,I'll find out in the morning. I
got plenty of time to prep forthe show, and I'm gonna do that.
I'm gonna text you guys tonight.Hey, I can't make it.

(22:07):
I got the clap, I'll beout the next week. The other thing
that pisses me off about you,and then that I can't stand. We'll
be on remote, like doing aroad show somewhere and I'm starving, and
this guy, you haven't seen thisbecause you're not typically on the road with
us. He'll reach into his bagand pull out like half a subway sandwich.
I'm like, what the hell didyou not bring some for me?
Did you not ask if anybody elsemaybe you wanted some. I'm saying,

(22:30):
I'm fan of people bring lunch occasionallyto work. I'm on dick side about
this because you bring taco time allthe time, and I and what do
I do? I usually text youguys who wants taco time? Yeah,
but there's lots of times I comein I never got a text, and
last week that you were here withtaco time and I didn't get it.
Okay, That's why I say usuallyusually, I never ever, ever,
ever get a text from you say, hey, I'm stopping a subway.

(22:52):
You want something? Never? Allright, I will do that cheaper master
than me. Promise you I willdo that. The next A lot of
times is to come. You knowI stopped. There's a subway right next
to the emoquin. This is whathappens when your baseball team is five and
twelve? Can seventeen games? CanI give you a couple of these numbers
that are going to give you thelast test? Sure? Whatever? So

(23:12):
you know I've had this pet peevewith you know this this old school baseball
where when you have a runner onat third and one out or a runner
on at second and no outs, like I have this thought that like those
runners should score more than fifty percentof the time. To agree with you,
Well, here are the numbers.Uh. The major league average with

(23:32):
a runner on at third and lessthan two outs is fifty two per Guess
who is worse than baseball? I'llgive you one guess, Oh, mister
mister Conda, mister yes Houston,I know that'd be at me Seattle,
a forty three percent nine percent lowerthan the average. Oh, let's let's
keep playing this game. Runner onat second and no outs the average is

(23:56):
exactly the same as runner on atthird one out. It is guess who's
Jackson? Guess who's worse than baseballrun around in second and no outs?
Almost Mare and Arrows are also atforty. So they are the worst at
both runner on third one out andrunner on second two outs because they refuse

(24:17):
unlike almost every other team in baseball, they refused to move guys over hit
sackflies playing the contact. And I'vesaid this before, and this time I
really mean it. You gotta getyour ass down to the clubhouse and talk
to Service honestly, because you've beenbitching about this for how many years?
I'm getting tired of hearing it.To be honest with you, Why do
you get your ass down to TMobile Park and go into Scott's office and

(24:38):
say what are you doing? Whatthe hell? Man? You know?
He second there you go. That'sexactly you got a askin where's all the
people that cover the baseball team ona regular basis? One person there's Divish,
there's worst, Jude snarkier than JacksonFelts, and that's Scott Service.

(24:59):
I'd get a anark in response ifI asked him what would that battle of
snark, be like between Service andJackson Service crush. Now he probably would
kill me, but none. Nonetheless, you have the little drop there.
Yeah that question, Yes, Scott, Yes, Scott, I suppose I
am serious about that question, becauselast time I checked, you're the manager,

(25:19):
and would you mind showing us howmuch your your paycheck? Says?
Oh wow, there's snark. Ithink I think based on that paycheck,
Scott, you should be the morethe more money you make, the more
responsibility you have, no crowd,Is that your point? Duh? Yeah,
I mean probably. I mean Idon't know if that's that's why you
got so much more responsibility. That'snot fair. That's not fair. That's

(25:45):
not fair. I think I thinkthe position that you're in should dictate it.
Right, Who cares how much moneyyou're making. I mean, Scott's
Service is in a position of authorityover twenty six people. That's kind of
what I'm saying, is responsible fornobody. But that's kind of what I'm
saying that compared to your assistant coachof Scott, like, compared to the
other people involved hitting coach, etcetera, you make a lot more than

(26:06):
those people. So yes, Scott, you should have good answers to these
questions when they are asked. Ohboy, has anybody really pressed him?
We haven't had him on all year. We tried. We'd like to have
him on again. I mean,I'll put him on whatever he wants,
right, Jerry and Scott are welcomeon the show, because, let's face
it, this is not just ahatchet job. There's a lot of good
things those guys are doing too, most of them on the pitching side.

(26:30):
But I would love to get himon and just ask him these situations that
we see. Now, why arewe last? It's so hard? Why
is it so hard? Are youserious with that question? If he was
smart, he'd say that. Bythe way, Fun with audio next on
ninety three three kJ ARFM. Let'shave some fun with audio, all right?
Busy Tuesday continues here on ninety threethree caj IRFM. Safty Dick Jackson

(26:52):
with you until seven o'clock tonight.Right now, though, it's time for
the segment everybody has been waiting for. All right, Well, kind of
a little bit not really fun withaudio slash. Hey did you hear that?
Hey, Dick? Did you happenhere? Though? What's that?
Dick? All right. David Samson, the former Marlins president who will join
us obviously coming up, current CBSsports host and our guest today, joined

(27:15):
the Dan Lebattard Show yesterday and gotpushed back from Dominic Foxworth for his take
about Lebron James and his son Bronnybeing drafted by the Lakers. Works up
about Lebron and I want to understandwhy the Los Angeles Lakers are so full
of and Lebron is the key conductorof that, and it offends me.

(27:40):
All they had to do was haveJJ Reddick tell the truth. All Lebron
had to do was tell the truthabout his involvement in JJ Reddick. None
of them ever copped to drafting Bronnyas though he was some sort of talent.
Then they gave him seven point ninemillion dollars guaranteed money for a player
that didn't deserve a nickel guaranteed.David, you don't see the obvious reason

(28:02):
why you are the worst person possibleto make this argument, to make an
argument that somehow Lebron James's nepotism isthe issue. Here is I told you
so. If you listen to nothingpersonal, I'm not against nepotism. I'm
a beneficiary of nepotism, but howabout admitting it. This is where I
get upset with you and people likeyou, is it feels like it depends

(28:22):
on who is the person who iscircumventing the rules in order to get an
advantage without actually breaking them. Thatthat determines whether you're going to celebrate it
as some crafty business maneuver or you'regoing to say this is book like that's
that's what offends me about you.So thank you. Wow, I gotta
heat it. So, Okay, what am I missing here? Explain to

(28:45):
me what Foxworth's pistols was? Samson, he admitted to beings. I don't
know why. Maybe I was anexecutive. I have no idea. So
he's saying that because he was theproduct of nepotism, he can't criticize somebody
else for nothing. I think that'srights. Don't you think though, that

(29:07):
he would notice it more than anybodyelse because he lived it. I mean,
Joe Buck has admitted that he gota foot in the door because of
his dad, right, and ifhe would see that more than anybody because
he committed nepotism. I mean,it's like you know in the movie Catch
Me if you can. In theend, he works. He starts working

(29:27):
for the government because he knows aboutwhat it looks like when somebody, you
know, forges a check. Howyou gave it away? I was gonna
watch that day. Sorry, bythe way, that the boat six,
I don't know, I mean,I just I always have a hard time
with that conversation, like, becauseyou did this, then you should sit
this one out, and you haveno right to go okay, Well what
if I disagree? What if I'mokay with it? What if I'm David

(29:49):
Sampson and I'm okay with it?Then is that okay? Then? Is
Dominic Foxworth still pissed off at me? Or is it just because I have
a certain take that angers you?It's I mean, I mean, it's
everybody has a right to their opinion, no matter what they did, what
they did not do, and youyou could argue that he knows that,
he recognizes that, and he admittedit right there. I just don't know

(30:10):
anybody. I just don't see whatthe harm is of Lebron admitting that he
had a role in the JJ.I just don't like, what's the problem.
It's like everybody sees it. IfLebron stepped up and just said,
hey, listen, I have Ihave spent a lot of time with this
guy and he is massively qualified forthis job. And so while it wasn't

(30:32):
my decision that he was hired,I am firmly in favor of that's all
he needed to say. Yeah,or like I said last week, they
come out and they say, hey, look, we know what people see
and my son is going to haveto prove he belongs and the story.
I don't know why that's so difficultfor people to admit. All right,
whatever, Hey, Dick, didyou happen to hear? What's that?

(30:53):
Dick? Paul Sewall, our buddyblew his third consecutive save last night for
the Diamondbacks and their loss to theBraves. Uh. Steve Berthume was on
the call for Fox Sports Arizona. This is it deep to right center and
it's happened again. Oh, onceagain. They were a strike away and

(31:15):
now it's three to three. ManGILBERTI as his victory. He's gone into
the pool area. I want touse that drop when I call my wife
to tell her I had one toomany and I'll be at the club for
another four hours. It's happened again. I'm sorry. Don't you think that
the Paul Seawall deal for Arizona hasalready paid dividends? Like it's all gravy

(31:36):
from here on out. Ye?It wasn't made the World Series most partially
because of him? Yeah, itwasn't he bad in the World Series?
Right? That's why I said madethe World Series? I got, I
won the world Sarka. He was, he was. I'd like to make
the World Series. I mean,if you give you, if you trade
me a player who gets me,and I can say with a lot of
certainty that he played a huge rolein getting me there, but he's sucked

(32:00):
once we got there. Where doI sign last? Last year? I
saw Paul see on this roster lastyear. Where do I sign for that?
All? Right? Hey, Dick? Did you how about to hear
that? What's that? Dick?At the start of the Yankees Reds game
of the fourth of July, NewYork, Yes Network broadcaster Michael k took
a shot at Cincinnati's poor defense incenter field with Will Benson, which immediately

(32:22):
came back to bite him. Onthe very first pitch ems in centerfield,
he had minus six defensive run.Say, this is not a good defensive
team ball. But we were talkingabout that yesterday and they actually made some
good plays yesterday. So you knowin this series they've been okay, but
open the year, yeah, waybelow average. I was the Benson back

(32:45):
on the track out the law.He makes the play. What a play?
But Benson do we just said minussix defensive run? Save Michael,
you are a reverse jameson best head. You did it all last night.
It's not Bobby Valentine. Sounds likeBobby Valentine. I'm not sure who's doing

(33:06):
the game with him. I doubtit's Valentine. It sounds like him,
but he was with the Mets. That's weird. I don't know. Look
that up. Look it's gonna happen, right. And you talk about in
general terms, the guy stings ingeneral terms is good And the one time
you break it up, the guymakes a play. By the way,
do you hear about the hawk toa girl? You guys have that heard
of her? Yes? You knowyou know who she is. Don't you

(33:28):
give me that look. Don't actyou're a freaking lie through your Somebody referenced
her on a podcast but I actuallydon't know where to originate. I don't
believe anything you said. Four ninefour five on is Jackson a thirty year
old that spends as much time ashe does on the internet? Is he
lying about the hawk to a girl? Don't you follow barstool on Twitter?
Yeah? Then how did you notsee it? Spend two minutes on Twitter

(33:52):
for the last two weeks? Justtell us what it is. Well,
I can't say it on the airbecause you can. Howk to a girl?
Her name is Haley, Well, she's from Tennessee and this has been
going on for like three weeks now, if not longer than that. She
was asked on social media by somebodyabout, you know, what's the one
thing you can do to a guythat would make him just shake his knees?

(34:15):
Oh right, yeah, And soshe brought something up. Now,
there's a club in Miami that ispaying her thirty thousand dollars to come to
the club and party with a Tuajersey on like AUA, that's awesome,
a tongue load. God darned Godbless America. Man. Between her and

(34:39):
then the Edmonton boo girl, Imean, my gosh, why can't we
say something like that that gets pickedup on social media, get fired,
and we're making thirty thousand dollars towear a jersey. All right, we're
gonna break. David Samson gonna joinus. That guy you heard right there
in the the lebron thing, he'lljoin next on ninety three three KJRFF
