Speaker 1 (00:00):
Where we go.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
It's part of our relentless coverage of the NFL. I'm
the proud right did walk your home for the twelfth Man?
Proudly precidens the Washington State Beat Commissions Football Friday probably
brought to you by the Washington Beat, Farmers and Renchers Beat.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
It's What's for Dinner?
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Football Friday is on with Sadi and on Sports Radio
ninety three point three kJ r FM.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
I feel bad a couple of things that we forgot
to put in the headlines there brought to you by
our friends over at Frost Brewed Corps. Light for the
Seahawk game with the Patriots on Sunday. Chenna and Niwosu
and Farrell Brown are out for the game, and Kenny
Walker and George Fanner doubtful. That seems pretty significant, right
to not have can nine in this game on Sunday, don't.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
I think it's extremely significant, And especially after Canine after
the game said I'm fine. You know that was that
was the quote, I'm good, right, So how'd you go
good on Sunday to not good on Friday?
Speaker 4 (00:59):
I don't think he was telling the truth. I mean,
it's not that hard to figure out right. That's why
I was so shocked at what Joe Burrow said yesterday.
We said I was hurt, right, I was banged up.
My wrist is messed up. What do you want from me?
I mean, like, like, guys don't usually say stuff like
that because players and teams and coaches don't want the
league in the world to know about all this stuff.
I mean, God, you heard Mike McDonald today. Maybe maybe
(01:21):
you missed it at the press conference. I mean he's
like literally admitting I'm not telling you guys anything about
anything happening with these injuries.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
And look, I get it. I mean he doesn't need
to say it.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
There's a reason why the league makes you put this
injury update out, you know, four days a week, obviously
five days a week, whatever, so you just rely on
the injury report when it's all said and done. But
Mike McDonald, to me, has been acting like a rookie
head coach and that he is absolutely not willing to
push the envelope or even put a toe over the
(01:51):
line whatsoever when it comes to giving the media even
a nibble a morsel of any news from inside that line.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Yeah, I and your level of personality really has nothing
to do with how many wins you have, sure, and
that's you know, that's what we care about, is how
many wins.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
I mean you're saying personality.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
So far, he's shown zero personality. I mean, would you
be willing to agree with me on that?
Speaker 5 (02:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (02:18):
Okay, kind so, but arguably the most successful head football
coach ever in NFL history had not only zero personality,
it's just like negative, just acid personality.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
So I mean you can still yeah, you can still
be boring and win. I would hope, for our sake,
my god, who are in the sports media around here,
that as he gets more experienced, as he loosens up,
as he gets to know people a little bit better,
he's willing to kind of relax a little bit and
have some fun.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
Yeah behind the microphone.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
Yeah, I mean he's thirty five years old, so I
don't know if that's gonna happen, you know yet for him.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
I mean I get it, you know.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Mc daniel thirty five years old enough for sure, really
super entertaining.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
I think part of this is who's been brought up
by and that's the Harba's right. I mean, I'd rather
have him be this way than be Jim Harbaugh, who's
a complete pain in the ass and the jerk to
the media. You know, John Harba's not that way, but
Jim Harbi certainly has been that way.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
But yeah, man, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
I just feel like this game, these two games, for
me are just kind of more toss ups than people think.
And maybe it's my own paranoia that certainly plays a
part in stuff like this, especially for tomorrow's game in
the Washington State. I mean, look, I think the first
few minutes, the first couple of drives of this game
tomorrow are going to be hugely important for for for
(03:37):
both teams because you know, you're Jake Dickard on with you.
It was yesterday he was on and they replayed some
of it today. I think we got a clip that
we'll we'll get to in a while here on the
show where you know, Dickard's saying, Hey, the beauty of
us is that if you've got an extra player, you know,
you got to decide you're going to bring him down
to the box to stop johny Mateer, you know, dropping
back in coverage to slow down the past. You know,
a game that we've got and if they can get
(03:59):
them off the field, with relative ease in the first
couple that drives of the game tomorrow, I think you
might see a Cougar football team that starts to think, oh,
so this is different than Texas Tech and Portland State, and.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Conversely, same thing for you up right.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
I mean, if Wazoo drives down and puts the ball
in the end zone, owner puts up points and Johnny
Mattier is going nuts and he's chucking the ball over
the top and he's roasting the secondary and scrambling all
over the place, then you double say, oh, this isn't
Weber State and it's not Eastern Michigan. So from that
exact perspective, I am massively intrigued about tomorrow's game. I
(04:33):
don't know what the hell to make about the Sapple
Cup tomorrow. I cannot wait for kickoff. Yeah, I don't
know what.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
To make of it.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
I can tell you what my game plan defensively would
be going in. I mean, I would leave the game,
the defensive game in the hands of Ephesians Price Sock
and Thaddeus Dixon and camfab and those guys back there
and say, listen, you lock these dudes up, because we
are not letting Matier run for eighty to one hundred
yards in this game. That is not going to happen.
(05:00):
We are going to make him a passer. If he
is going to beat the Huskies, he's going to beat
you over there Thatteus. He's going to beat you over
their Ephesians. And that's how he's going to win the game,
because we don't think he can do it, and.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
They don't have I don't think they have great receivers.
Williams is good. I don't know what his health is.
It looked like he's separated his shoulder against Texas Tech
last week and then he came back and he scored
a touchdown. Their second best receiver might be Chris Hudson,
and you know who Chris Hudson is.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Has anybody checked on the horrific injury from two years
ago in the Organ game?
Speaker 3 (05:34):
I mean, is he still doing that?
Speaker 6 (05:35):
Is he.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
Is he faking injuries for Wazoo like he did for Oregon?
I mean, is that still a thing? Or are those
days kind of behind him? So you know, when when
your second best wide receiver is a guy like that,
you know, I'm not that concerned about the passing game
and I'm totally with you that. I mean, how many
times have we heard I think we've heard it twice,
and we'll hear it again, probably from Chris Peterson at
four o'clock today. Rick new Heiseel said the exact same
(05:59):
thing yesterday that the Belichick playing when it comes to
a defensive game plan, that's their plan, right, that's what
they do.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Did you guys get that? Yes, take away the number
one thing you do.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
Best, and that's belichick EA's and I think right now
Johnny Matteer's life.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Absolutely.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
There's lots of teams, lots of teams throw the ball,
lots of teams catch the ball, but lots of teams
don't have a guy like that that could run the
way he did against Texas Tech. And I'll be honest
with the I think Texas Tech is awful. Like they stink.
They look terrible in week one, they look bad on
defense in week two, and so I I think you're right.
I think you put seven six seven guys in the
box and spy they can beat you with his arm.
(06:38):
I mean, never mind the spy, just you know, fill
your lanes. There's no need for a spy help play
his own defense. Do your damn job. Do what the
Huskies did in twenty sixteen on Friday Night against Stanford
and Christian McCaffrey. Stay in your freaking lane, like Joby
would always say. And if somebody else crosses into your lane,
(06:58):
or if somebody else crosses out of your lane, than
trust of the guy next to you is going to
make the tackle. I mean, how many cliches can I
give you? For God's sakes, But that's what this is
all about, discipline defense, and I think these guys can
play that. Because I mentioned this on the show a
couple of days ago the Eastern Michigan I saw a
play against a screen where all four defensive linemen for
the Huskies stopped in their tracks, identified it, and backed up.
(07:22):
And I hadn't seen that a long time from that
Husky defense. Even last year, I don't remember seeing a
lot of situations like that early in the year where
they were able to sniff out a screen that quickly.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Well, the Husky defense last year came to play against Wazoo,
they did not two years ago. That was one of
the more frustrating Apple tups I can ever remember from
the Husky defense. It was just absolutely horrific, especially in
the first half. I was, I mean, we were ahead,
and I was angry at halftime in Polk you were.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Angry after the Texas game was over, I was, I was.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
God damn it, we're playing for the national champions point never.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
But you you're right, you're right. But you mentioned that
these two games are toss up. But can we agree
that of the two games, the Husky talent right, oh, yes,
far better than the Cougar talent versus what we have
with the Seahawks and the Patriots notes. Okay, So if
(08:15):
that's the case, if that's one factor, and the second
factor is the Seahawks are on the road and the
Huskies are essentially at home, my question is why is
the Husky spread only one point more than the Seahawks spread.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
Yeah? Because in the Apple Cup.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
I again, you just mentioned it two years ago, the
defense looked terrible. They had way better players on defense
than Wazoo did on offense. Right, they always do every
single year, every single year. The two four to seven rankings,
the Star rankings, whatever, UDUB is always going to kill
it when it comes to that. UTUB is always going
to have more highly recruited, highly touted guys, but the
(08:51):
emotions of this game, and frankly, I would rather be
playing this game in November because I want my offensive
line to be a lot more set than it is now.
I think for Wazoo is a gift for them to
play this game this early, to be totally honest, for you,
before you Dub really gets their legs underneath them, and
we'll see what they look like on you know, tomorrow,
on Saturday. But I look, all those things matter, right,
(09:12):
I mean you're asking me, you know, why isn't the
spread bigger if U Dub's got way more talent because
of exactly what you just said.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
Because three years.
Speaker 4 (09:19):
Ago or was it two years ago or three years
ago when Dolaura came here, not three the game in
Seattle three years ago when they came here and they
had all the emotion and look, obviously part of that
was a freshman playing at quarterback, interim head coach blah
blah blah. But there were emotions involved in that game
that were a negative for you, Dub. Yes, and we
won't have those this year. You won't, but Wazoo will.
Wazoo will have those emotions. Wazoo will have those emotions
(09:42):
from from a positive perspective, and I thought what Rick
new Eiel said yesterday was spot on.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
He's exactly right.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
If I am Jake dickerd I am going to my
players and I'm saying, do you have any idea what
you can do for your fan base by winning this
game on Saturday?
Speaker 3 (09:55):
I mean, what a week this would be for Wazoo.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Like, I mean, just god, guys like this, forget the
fact that we're Husky fans for saving their conference and
they're gonna beat the Huskies. I mean, dude, are you
kidding me? Like that is orgasmic for Washington State. They
pull that off, and this is the greatest week ever.
And I don't blame them. I mean, it's been hell
for them for what a year and a half. It's
been just hell on Earth every single week, every single month.
(10:20):
And now they're gonna find a conference, rebuild the PAC twelve.
It's a knockoff version of what it was, I'll admit that,
but they're still rebuilding it. They got some dance partners
now and they're gonna beat the Huskies. If you're a
Cougar fan who's also a Seahawk fan, if you win
this game on Saturday.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
You won't give a damn what happens on Sunday afternoon.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
I do feel though, like we sit here every single
year before the Apple Cup and we say the same thing.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
It's tough.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
All it's gonna be tough. Oh, it's gonna be close game.
All the Cougar's can win this game. And it's almost
like we're convincing ourselves that it's going to be a
tough game because here's the facts. Like, these are the facts.
This is not an opinion. The Huskies since the end
of the Willingham era. Yeah, is twelve and two and
they're have been only three games decided by one score. So, like,
(11:03):
the facts are that the Huskies win by double digits
in this game.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
And yet we.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Always, you and me both, we always try to convince
ourselves the week of the Apple Cup, given whatever the
factors are, that the Cougars are gonna have a great
chance to win, They're gonna keep it close, and this
is gonna be a ballbuster.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
So why do we always do that? Because it's a rivalry, dude,
But yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
But it's the second most lopsided rivalry in college football.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
Behind Oklahoma Oklahoma State.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
Well, First of all, it's a rivalry number one, and
you're always gonna be nervous because the alternative to winning
is embarrassing. It really is, right, right, I mean, guys
compared usually compared to Washington talent wise, the Cougars are
a high school team.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
They just are.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
I mean, I'm not again, maybe that's you know, people
think I'm a smart ass with that, but you just
mentioned the talent difference and it's only gonna get worse,
which is I mean, the talent difference is considered every
single year.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
It's just the way it is.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
I mean, there's a reason why this rivalry has been
so one sided because the talent difference has been significant.
So to me, most there was a run there with
Mike leach where a lot of the Apple Cups that
Chris Peterson played against Mike Leachs were huge games, like,
you Dub needs this to win the conference champions. You
Dub needs this to get the North, You Dub needs
(12:23):
this to get to Vegas to Santa Clara, You Dub
needs this to get to the Final four. But right,
there's a huge, gigantic games and I mean, my god,
I mean the Apple Cup a year ago, right, You're like, dude,
holy our is one game away from the PAC twelve
Championship game and playing for the right to play in
the final four, and these clowns are in your way.
That's why you get nervous every single year. And I
just think, for me, for this year, I feel like
(12:44):
I'm more concerned about the kind of added element of
the motivation for Wazoo, the fifty one new players for
you Dub, what Washington State's going to be looking to
do behind the scenes, and how important this game is
for them. I will just say this, I think this
game on tomorrow, and you tell me if you disagree, Guys,
is way more important for Wazoo.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Than it is for you Dub.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
You Dubb just went to the National Championship and they
got fifty new guys. They're not supposed to be, in
relative terms as good as they were a year ago.
Washington State, if they're ever gonna beat you Dub, it's tomorrow, yes, okay.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
And if they can't do it tomorrow, then when's it
gonna happen?
Speaker 1 (13:22):
H Then the next twenty years, the talent gap is
never going to be less between these two teams because
one team's recruiting in the Big Ten and the other
teams recruiting in the Mountain Slash Pack, and it's just
gonna only separate itself. I see two potential outcomes to this.
I see, we find out that Washington just really isn't
(13:43):
that good, and you know, we're a six and six,
five and seven ish team, and the Coups are like
a ten and two with their schedule type team right
pushing for you.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
And we find that.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Out and the Coups just went like we go home.
You're doing the postgame show and you're just like, hey,
that that looked like the better team on the field,
and they just win.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
I think that's a for the first time.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
I think that's at least a possibility to happen that way.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
Yeah, or.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
It's a boat race, right, and we find out when
we're look at halftime and it's it's already twenty to six,
and it's like the Cougars have no right to be
on the same field. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
Well, here's the funny thing about Wazoo. Fresno State's going
to the PAC twelve, right, Yes, Boise State, Yes, San
Diego State.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
Correct.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
Three of their next four games are against those teams.
Three of the next five games. Yes, yes, So they're
gonna be saying, hey, we just beat you DUB, let's
beat San Jose State, let's be four and oh, let's
be ranked. And then we got three out of four
against the Pac twelve, and we're gonna get this. It's
gonna feel like next year already. It's gonna be good.
It's gonna be great. Yeah, dude. I mean, I just
(14:50):
think for them, this is this is the game that
everybody has been waiting for since they you know, bent
over and took it up that you know what from
everybody else around college football. And I think they feel slighted.
I think they feel hurt. I think they feel ignored
by the rest of college football. Maybe some of that's
dissipated a bit since yesterday, since the news came out.
But I think that the hatred from Washington State to
(15:13):
U DUB is now as bad as it's ever been.
And I think it's great. I think it's well, it's
not embarrassing. I actually feel bad for Jake Dickert, the
head coach at Washington State. And I'll explain why next
we got Factor fiction At three thirty five, Chris Peterson's
gonna join us at four today, coming up on ninety
three three KJARFM.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Now back to the Washington State Beat Commissions Football Friday
with Soti and Dick on your home for the NFL
Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
All right, Factor Fiction coming up in a matter of
minutes right here on ninety three three KJRFM. I'll brought
to you by our friends of the Emeral Queen Casino. Chris
Peterson will on us at four, HU Millon coming up
at five. Ryan Leaf will join around six as soon
as he walks off the golf course with Joey Heisman
and Nigel Burton.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
By the way, he's playing golf with those two guys,
Joey he.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
Joey Harrington, Joey Harrington, Nigel Burton, Ryan Lee Fall playing together.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
Man, right, how did.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
That advertisement in New York go for Joey?
Speaker 6 (16:22):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
I mean, did they get more people to get eyeballs
on Oregon?
Speaker 3 (16:27):
I have no idea.
Speaker 4 (16:28):
Did he finish higher in the Heisman than he would
have without that thing? I saw it, by the way,
I was there in New York in person. I gave
it the double bird. Still have a photo of that
back in the day, very very proud of it.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
That's kind of the first time that Oregon tried to
go national, right right, right, Well, they had bo Nixon,
he was on was it Houston or New York?
Speaker 4 (16:46):
Last year? They had bo Nix's face on some buildings.
I think it was in Houston because that's where the
National Championship game was and they had him out there
for the Heisman Trophy as well. So anyway, Ryan Leaf
will join us around six o'clock tonight, so we get
the Factor fiction and a few minutes from now. I'm
actually kind of surprised that nobody's taking this selection yet.
We'll do that in about five minutes here on the
air courtesy the Emerald Queen. Did you hear Jake Dickert
(17:07):
the other day with Ian Fernes on this final radio station.
So one of the storylines of the game, I think
we all have to just be honest about it is
the crowd, right, how big will the crowd beat? I mean,
ticket prices are coming down. I mean a lot of
Cougar fans aren't going. We know that Washington's sold way
more tickets for the game than Washington State has. I
think tomorrow tickets are going to be dirt cheap before
(17:29):
the game, if you can just wait until ten eleven
o'clock to jump on either a Ticketmaster, b Venue Kings, whatever.
I go to Venue Kings first and foremost, obviously, But
the prices are dropping like rocks, and they're gonna drop
even more tomorrow morning. So if you can just hold
out until tomorrow, I could get some really really good
deals on tickets for the game. So the crowd itself
is a huge storyline for the game. Do they make
(17:50):
a mistake putting it at Loom and should should the
game have been in Pullman? I always thought it'd be
a great tradition to split the stadium in half play
it like on Labor Day, Sunday night or whatever.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
If Cougar fans give a national TV game, have Crimson
on one side purple and that'd be awesome.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
Well, I can guarantee you this. If this doesn't go
well tomorrow, that's never going to happen. It's never gonna
happen because they want the game in Pullman. They want
the game because one of my buddies made a good point,
he said, look for as many Cougar fans as there
would be that would show up potentially for a game
like that in Seattle. There will always be more if
the game is in Pullman, because Martin Stadium holds like
thirty five thousand.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
People, right, so there's always gonna be more there.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
They want the game where the kids are, They don't
want the kids to drive, blah blah blah. So Jake
Dickert has been making the rounds this week and he's
I don't want to say begging people to come to
the game, because that's not fair to him to say
something like that. I actually like Jake Dickart a lot,
to be honest with you. Don't tell anybody that, but
I kind of like the guy, and I feel bad
(18:46):
for him. I feel bad for Jake Dickert that he's
got to go on radio and say things like this.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
From the coaches perspective, the fans that are sitting on
the fence that are thinking, I don't want to go
support this game.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
I don't want to do this. I don't want to go.
What would you tell them?
Speaker 5 (19:02):
What an opportunity? That's exactly what it is. The margins
of victory in this game are so slim. You can
make a difference. You know, the crowd noise that textics
tech jumped offside five times last week because of the
crowd noise. You have an opportunity to impact and invest
in this football team, this program. I don't know how
you can watch our team and not be proud of
(19:22):
all these guys that stayed here, that are dedicated to
wearing that logo on their sleeve. And how can he
not support that, you know, And.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
We'll find out a lot about who we are in.
Speaker 5 (19:31):
You know, as a fan base, you know on Twitter
for the last year, I've felt the pain. Well, let's
see it. Let's invest Let's be there, let's be loud,
let's take over Looming Field, let's make sure that's our house,
and let's go win a big, big football game.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
He's good for him.
Speaker 4 (19:46):
Yeah, he's trying to convince people to go, which is sad.
It's super sad that your head football coach has to
come on a radio station and say that.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Yeah, Joe Fish isn't saying that. I haven't.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
He mentioned it yesterday that he hopes there's a big
crowd there, but he's not going out of his way
like dickerd is And I don't blame Dicker.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
For doing it at all.
Speaker 4 (20:05):
I mean, he knows the situation, right, he knows how
many tickets they've sold, and the fact that he needs
to go on radio and ask Cougar fans to come
out and support their team because he knows that right
now they're not doing it. I mean, is it more
important for Cougar fans to, you know, put up this
kind of you know, we're gonna show you. But at
the same time, you're also kind of hurting your favorite
(20:25):
football team because they'll look up and they won't see
the light.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
It's a huge game.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
It's different than Mariner fans boycotting on September twentieth, because
the season's over, right, doesn't matter if they're there or not.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
It's almost over four and a half games.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
Not yet?
Speaker 6 (20:37):
Not yet?
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Really not yet? You're still there? Oh yeah yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
I was looking at it before the show, literally sitting
in here. Okay, if the Astros going No. Seven until
they're mathematically done before, I think, I think this is
the week This is a big week How about this weekend?
That's what I'm saying this, this is the weekend the
Angels and Astros and the Mariners in Texas and I
think we can just about say, all right, we gave
(21:02):
you a funeral, maybe a rose from the dead momentarily.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
But now you're going back in your hole. When did
they rise from the dead? That well, you you never
got insight three and a half games.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
You were the same person that was saying at some
point there will be a game and a half hour. Yes,
and they laut and that's rising from the dead.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
It hasn't happened yet. They never got them.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
So you're saying that they've actually underperformed my meager expectations
for August and September.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
I'm not giving up yet. I'm not giving up yet.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
Why don't you just join join the fun, have some
fun with me, Join in on the fun, Jackson is.
Then let's let's believe for a minute, right, jump on
the believe bus with me.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
I'd be like, get next to me. Will you do
that anyway?
Speaker 5 (21:54):
Dick?
Speaker 4 (21:54):
All right, case you're just a big party pooper, come on,
jump on the bellieve bus with me.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
We got plenty of room. Factor fix right now, where's
that to go?
Speaker 2 (22:01):
Glad you're with us, it's your shot at our weekly
on thousand bucks and the ten thousand dollars grand prize.
It's Fact door Fiction, brought to you by the Emerald
Queen Casino, the betting capital of the Northwest. Make the
beautiful new EQUC sportsbooky your home all football season long.
Fact door Fiction is on Sports Radio ninety three point
(22:23):
three KJR.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
Fil all right, I'm pulling a switcheroo. Oh, courtesy of
the Emerald Queen Casino. We literally just talked about this
off the air a few minutes ago. And if I
if I pull a switcheroo and I'm wrong, I'll never
hear the end of it.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
There were two games that I was considering.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
They were both totals, the under forty eight in the
Chief Bengal game and the under thirty eight and a
half in the Seahawk Patriot game. Let me ask you
a question, is what does Mike McDonald as a head
coach do really well right now?
Speaker 3 (22:51):
You think tackle you okay?
Speaker 5 (22:53):
And we do?
Speaker 4 (22:54):
You think Girodmeo does really well right now? What they
did against the Bengals? So why are we overthinking this?
Speaker 3 (23:00):
Guys?
Speaker 4 (23:00):
This is going to be a slugfest, all right, and
a slog It's gonna be a twenty to seventeen at
most seventeen to ten. This is going to be a
low scoring game, right, It's gonna be a.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
Low scoring seventeen. You got you got two.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
Defensive guys as head coaches. You have an offense that
is missing maybe one of their best players in Kenny
Walker for the Seahawks, still trying to get their offensive
line in flux. George Faett not going to play in
the game. I'm likely out for the game. The Patriots,
all we've been doing all week long is saying how
they have nothing at their skill spots, nothing at their
(23:35):
skills So what are we doing? Okay, let's not overthink this.
Give me the under in the Seahawks Patriot game thirty
eight and a half. I like the under thirty eight
and a half. Fact if you agree fiction, if you
disagree to four nine, four to five one, all courtesy
of the ever play.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
I think the only thing that can the only thing
can beat us is a defensive touchdown, which.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Is very rare, rare, very rare. But yes, that takes
care of the football. Yeah, yeah, that's right.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
I mean, if we're really concerned about getting beat by
a defensive touchdown, then we should take the bet. Because
that doesn't happen very often. The only question is is
the under in the chief game the better play? I
think the under in this game is the better play personally,
So I'm taking the under thirty.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
What just depends on what you think of the Bengals offense.
I mean, what do you is Joe Burrow playing one handed?
I think they're better than they were a week ago.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
They're not what they were a couple of years ago
when they went to the Super Bowl and you said
Higgins is out? Is that right for this game on Sunday?
I think they're better than what they showed last week.
But I also think that you know, look, man, I
think these defenses might be really good, right. I mean,
even when things were going terribly for Bill Belichick, defense
was usually not the problem in New England, and I
don't think defense is gonna be the problem for Mike
(24:45):
McDonald and Seattle. I totally agree with you. I think
the Patriots are a world of hurt against this Seahawk
defense on Sunday. So under thirty eight and a half
here we go, all right, Factor fiction courtesy of The
Emerald Queen Casino, get him in right now to four
nine four one pick right a week and you're eligible
for the weekly thousand dollars prize, all courtesy of the
Emerald Quick As you know, most picks right by the
(25:07):
end of the year wins ten thousand bucks. We will
visit with Lee Sterling, our handicapper next on ninety three
to three KJRFM.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
We want to make a little.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
Lextra pocket change for this weekend. I did well, look
no further than Paramount Sports. Lee Sterling did tell you.
All right, boys and girls, here we go.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
It's the moment you've all been waiting for, all you
degenerates out there. Time to buy the dip for Rick
new Heisel timed by the dip for Lee Sterling three
six and one after ten selections so far on the.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Air, here he is to bounce back and have a
big week.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
Our handicapper from South Florida, Paramount Sports owned Lee Sterling.
Speaker 6 (25:50):
How are you man, I'm good, I'm good. Just feel
for Tua. Yeah, and what's going on? That was just
horrible to watch that?
Speaker 3 (26:00):
Yeah did you go last night?
Speaker 6 (26:01):
No? I didn't go, but yeah, watching on TV is
just terrific. And got a feel for him. Hopefully he's
okay and be with my kid probably wouldn't let him
play again. And yeah, Dolphin franchise, we might be looking
at a total rebuild.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
Right.
Speaker 4 (26:18):
Well, you're at that age too where you'd rather just
stay home watch the game on TV because you're a
grumpy old man now, so I'm not surprised that you
were not there in the stadium. I go to a
couple of games, A couple of games. That's exactly why,
because you're a grumpy old man. Let's start off with college.
Let's go to college football first. Our old buddy Caitlin
no More is going into Madison, Wisconsin. They're going to
(26:40):
be jumping around, going nuts with a Crimson tide coming
Alabama given sixteen and a half at Wisconsin.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
What do you think?
Speaker 6 (26:48):
So it's watching Wisconsin since the starter last year, since
Luke Fickle came over and they hired Phil Longo from
North Carolina, and I'm trying to figure out what they're
trying to do and what did they do right away?
Last year? They ended up bringing over Tanner Mordecai from
originally Oklahoma and then SMU to be their quarterback. Well
(27:09):
the year before at SMU through for thirty five touchdowns.
What did he do last year nine touchdowns. This year
they bring in Tyler van Dijke for Miami. He's only
thrown for one hundred and ninety two and two hundred
and fourteen yards against Western Michigan in South Dakota, and
it wasn't like they took him out because they were
winning big. He has one total touchdown pass His receivers
(27:32):
get absolutely no separation. I think the weakness for Alabama's
DEAs their two young cornerbacks, I just don't think they're
gonna be able to take advantage of it. Brayln Allen,
they used to have an identity running the football, but
he ended up moving on to the NFL. Man, I'm
not going to lose three fumbles again like last week here.
I think Alabama pulls away thirty five thirteen.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Same spread between the Duckies and the Beaves in the
Civil Wars sixteen and a half. For Oregon, they have
looked far from dominant the first couple.
Speaker 6 (28:01):
Of weeks they have, but you know, I'm watching this
Oregon State team and the quarterback McCoy, I just don't
think he's at a high level here. I don't think
they have anything close to the playmakers who lost Amien
Martinez to Miami. You know this is a team that, yeah,
(28:21):
they shut out San Diego State pitch at twenty one
nothing shut out. I think by the end of the year,
Santego State might be one of those teams that's sit
in like two and ten and it was only seven
to nothing going into the fourth quarter. First shutout win
since twenty twenty one, first shutout on the road since
eighty three. I would normally take the points here, but
(28:42):
I just think that Oregon's gonna explode and this might
be the game against the team. Just the talent at
Oregon State and Washington State not close to the Ducks,
and also the dogs. We're gonna take the Ducks here
thirty eight twenty all right, Well.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
Maybe you'll ap preview that of the Apple have.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
Now give them five and a half against WAZU and
lumin Field tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
What do you see happening there?
Speaker 6 (29:06):
Yeah, I mean Washington State looked okay for a while.
I mean they played another team with no defense, Texas Tech.
I mean Texas Tech's allowed nine hundred or more total
yards and Texas Tech should have lost to Appling Christian.
They pulled it out, stopped a two point conversion. They
(29:29):
were plus three in turnovers, and they're winning the last
game against Texas Tech. Here are the Dogs anywhere close
to last year? No, but they're not going to turn
the ball over like Texas Tech. Think that also field position,
also special teams will be the difference here. We're gonna
go to dogs. I mean dogs just clearly better here.
(29:51):
I think they win and cover this game here thirty
five seventeen.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
I'll sign them for it right now.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
To the NFL.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
San Francisco minus four and a half at Minnesota.
Speaker 6 (30:03):
Main complaint people have with Kevin O'Connell, head coach for Minnesota,
as he's pass heavy, don't run the ball much. But
the one time you could knock him was last year
when the Vikings beat the forty nine Ers twenty two
to seventeen. Now, that was before Kirk Cousins got hurt.
But you know, there are a few teams in the
(30:23):
NFL where it pays to come out throwing against, and
I think San Francisco is one of them. They got
the lead last week and they were just able to
just pour it on. Jets rarely had the football here.
The Vikings last prayer quarterback Sam Darnold can't possibly be
as good as the Giants made him look, but he
practiced against the forty nine Ers defense a heck of
(30:47):
a lot last season here when he wore that San
Francisco Jersey. We're gonna go with the Vikings round team
is favored Vikings outright?
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Wow, Three outright wins of Minnesota.
Speaker 6 (31:00):
Sorry?
Speaker 4 (31:00):
How about the Hawks at Foxborough? Gellette State? Is it
still Gillette Stadium? By the way, given three and a
half against the Patriots on Sunday, what do you see there?
Speaker 6 (31:10):
They might have changed the name by now, probably a
sponsor took that name. But the Patriots limited the Bengals
two hundred and twenty four yards. It's just one hundred
and fifty four passing from Joe Burrow here. Plan isn't
complicated for the new Patriots coach Jared Mayo, defensive disciple
Bill Belichick, limit mistakes on offense, play conservative and possibly,
(31:34):
you know, let Jacoby Brissett use some play action when
you get ahead. That's why they're not using Drake may
They want to cut down on those turnovers here. He
has a real good control over the offense. He's played
with this offensive coordinator for a season already, and the
Seahawks looked they looked a little uneven. They've got some
problems that looks like on the offensive line, but I
(31:57):
think they should be able to hit on a couple
big plays here. It's not gonna be easy, guys. I'm
gonna take the points, but Seattle eachs out a win
seventeen sixteen.
Speaker 4 (32:06):
Oh there goes the other way as well, like that too.
All right, how about your game of the week Texans.
In Chicago, Bears fans are already apparently getting restless about
Shane Waldron.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
I'm shocked and took this long.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
I've only took one week and they're already slamming Shane Waldron.
Speaker 6 (32:22):
He was great in preseason, so that's where he shines
the most.
Speaker 4 (32:26):
By the way, that preseason really excels the preseason. Yeah,
so you know he was our offense a coordinator, right
and so yeah, oh yeah, oh.
Speaker 6 (32:34):
Yeah, I heard you complaining left and right, ter Worth.
All right, So anyone wants to get the game first?

say goods?
Speaker 2 (33:23):
All right?
Speaker 4 (33:23):
Please turning lex Alabama, Oregon, you Minnesota, the Vikings and
the Hawks. Actually know he likes the Patriots and the point.
Sorry in that game on Sunday. All right, we're going
to break. Chris Peterson's going to join next on ninety
three to three KJRFM
