Speaker 1 (00:00):
Where we go.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Nick is out. We have no dick today.
Speaker 1 (00:04):
It's true.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
This man has no I gotta tell you. I love
that clip. By the way, Ghostbusters is so perfect. Good
for you for knowing the movie that came out before
you were born, though, right, Ghostbusters? Yeah year? What year
were you born? You're ninety two? Yeah, that's wait, that's
like maybe ten years before you were born. So we
watched it.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Look at we watched the new Ghostbusters, the new one
with was it Paul Rudd in there? And before watching that,
we watched all the previous ones and one and two
are so good. But this can we just can we
stop trying to revive movies now that shouldn't be revived.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Well, first of all, you were negative eight when Ghostbusters
came out. Eighty four. Hell of a year. Hu Milling
beat Oklahoma and Ghostbusters came out. The Seahawks also went
to the AFC Championship game technically January of eighty four.
I think now, was it New Year's Eve? Got it
may have been New Year's Eve? Look that up. See
this is the kind of stuff I think about. This
(00:56):
Raiders to be wrong, No, it is the Seahawks Raiders
game in the AFC champion and cheap let me see
eighty three. I think that game may have been New
Year's Eve eighty three, Yet it was New Year's Eve
against the Dolphins in January eighth against the Raiders, so
it was kind of half right anyway. I gotta be
honest with you, I'm in kind of a bad mood
right now, and I should be in a good mood. Well,
I'm in a bad mood because of two things. The
Mariners still to this day pissed me off. You know,
(01:19):
Like I said yesterday on X last night, I thought
it was a great post. Everyone should bookmarkt like it
and love it and screenshot it and take it in
the pocket. That we ripped these guys, we bury them
on the air. They are six games out of first
they're five and a half games out in the wild Card.
But we're still watching the game. And I don't know
if you were watching the game. I was watching the game,
(01:39):
and then I asked myself, why am I watching the game?
And it was four to four in Austin both coming
in the ninth. It's like, dude, I was this close
to sending out a tweet that they're gonna lose. They
just the vibes are bad. The vibes have gone from
good to bad. Hey, Haino Suarez took the vibes and
they're gone. There's no vibes left to be had. Vibes
(02:00):
are bad vibes.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
I'm really glad that I haven't watched a second of
Mariner baseball and I haven't really cared about Mariner baseball
in the last two maybe three weeks. The reality is
I've been I've had. I told you, I've been so
apathetic about this team. I have such ampathy for him,
and it's paid off because I haven't been able to
get hurt over these last couple weeks.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yeah, all the crap that they've been putting on it,
here's me something to do to be honest with you.
And it's better for me to be angry and occupied
than not to be totally honest with you, because then
bad things happen. As my wife will tell you. But
I'm watching the game last night, and I'm switching over
to Fubo, which has been phenomenal by the way, no
problem with Fubo whatsoever. So I finally got the TV
off the wall last night. All right. The wife helped me.
(02:40):
It was a little bit of a struggle at first.
You know, this clip had to go there, this thing
had to come out here the bracket, blah blah blah.
And so I get it off the wall and I
take out the Comcast box and I throw it to
the ground. Yes, I got a picture of it. I'll
show you. I'm already to send it out. I'm gonna
give him a call and say I want out. I'm out.
The shackles of cable have been removed from Softies cank
I'm done. So I'll make that call very very soon,
(03:03):
right in the next couple days, if not, maybe tonight.
And then I rewired everything and it worked, and then
it didn't, and now I'm all pissed about it. I'm like,
God darned, this thing doesn't work. Fubo's great. It's the
sound system I have set up. And I'm here to
tell you right now I am not an endorser of
this product, never have been, never will be. This is
(03:24):
just a little public service announcement from Softy. I know
we have the honks coming up. We have Factor of Fiction.
At three thirty five. We got Chris Creighton, who's the
head coach at Eastern Michigan who went to Roosevelt High School.
By the way, he'll join us in about fifteen minutes
from now. John Wilner's coming up, Brian Schmeicher's coming up.
Darren McKee from Shaky Station down there in Denver talk
some Bronco smack with us at six pm. So we
(03:46):
have a lot to get to. I'm just here to
tell you right now, if you ever find yourself in
a situation where you are lucky enough to get yourself
a home theater system, do not, and I repeat, do not,
purchase a dead en Heos system. It is terrible, all right,
it is absolutely awful. I was this close, and I
(04:08):
mean this close to pulling that sound bar off the
wall and chucking it off my deck into Puget Sound.
I am so done with this stupid Bluetooth Wi Fi.
Do this app check that app. Whatever happened to the
day of getting a big old boom box and a
gigantic speaker and running a wire from a tuner to
(04:28):
a speaker and just rocking out at home and taking
the grill off like your badass right back in the seventies.
These home theater systems that rely on Bluetooth and Wi
Fi and apps, all of them can rotten hell, every
single one.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
It drives me not does it have an OX cord
that you can plug into the TVs? That's what I
do with mine, Like mine's Bluetooth capable, but I at
least have the option to plug in the cord because
then you don't have issues like that.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Well dude, yes, but it's the sound quality isn't as great.
Don't even get me stick, all right. So I just
I rolled out of bed this morning. I went downstairs
to get this thing figured out. I was all fired up.
I fixed it and then I didn't fix it, and
nobody can help me, and it's just I'm helpless. Yeah,
he doesn't. He has no idea either. I mean, it's
just it's like there's no home theaed or system, no
(05:17):
speaker system, no television that should use a freaking app
to be able to hear decent sound. It drives me nuts.
All right, that's my rent for the day.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Thank you?
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Feel better? A little bit? A little bit, A little bit, yeah,
a little shrink, Yeah it was I I I needed that.
So this first world problems, man, right, this is this
is the problems that you have when you're Softy, You're
going on the ear. You know, some poor bastard can't
put food on his damn table, is out of work,
looking for a job, and I'm bitching the morning about
my stupid speaker system at home. But if anybody knows
(05:48):
anything honestly about the dumb ass denon he O system,
shoot me an email, Softy, kjar, Gmail, send a text, whatever,
because I got to talk to somebody. This whole thing
is about to go into the garbage can. We got
a lot to get to. Mariners lose last night. The
funeral took place yesterday on the radio show appropriate because
they still have yet to rise from the dead. They
(06:10):
got what twenty four games left to go, and I
don't know, are we passed now the point of leading
the radio show off with Marin or Baseball Talk. We
got Seahawks on Sunday. We got the Huskies on Saturday.
You know, look, until the Huskies have a real big
game and a decent sized opponent. I know that Wazoo's
coming to town on Saturday against the Dogs at Luminfield,
(06:30):
which is supposed to be I think technically it's a
home game for Wazoo because they're going to be on
the home sideline. I know a lot of people will
talk about it being a neutral site thing, and there's
gonna be a lot more Husky fans than Cougar fans there,
But this is not gonna feel like a Cougar home
game whatsoever, or will it? You know, if they beat
Texas Tech this weekend and Pullman got a lot of
(06:51):
buddies heading out of town for that game, they're gonna
be a little more battle tested than we are. And
I guess I just don't want to put anything past
Washington right now. Don't want to assume anything when you
got forty four new players, and by the way, Eastern
Michigan's got like fifty five on their team. We'll talk
to their head coach about that in a few minutes.
Would it stunned the crap out of you if Wazoo
(07:12):
came here and beat the Huskies next Saturday? No, it
wouldn't shocked me either. It won't shocked me either. So
I'm just gonna tell you right now, with what eleven
twelve days whatever it is left to go, I am
way more nervous about that game than Dick is. And
I'm not just saying that because he's not here. I've
said that to his face on the show. I am
way more nervous about that game than Dick is. The
Seahawk game on Sunday. I just think they're gonna roll.
(07:34):
They're gonna roll, and they should be a two or
zero football team. I mean, look, if Geno Smith is
everything that people say he's going to be, then we're
not losing to know Bo Nicks and Jacoby Brissett in
the first two games of the year. And we talked
about this on the year. Maybe the reason why Gerrod
Mayo is starting bow Knicks or starting Brissett over Drake
(07:56):
may Sorry I lost my train of thought there, senior moment,
because the Patriots schedule is brutal, absolutely awful to start
like the first month and a half of the year.
So let the veteran go out there and get cream
to death by opponents, and then we'll bring in the
rookie and he can be the ear.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
I just thought of a great poll we got to
put out for Hawks and Seahawk fans. What are you
more nervous about the Apple Cup or Seahawks Broncos Chris?
For me, it's by far Seahawks Broncos again.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Wow. Again.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
I'm not putting it past I'm not putting it past
WS you to pull the episode. I'm just saying, like,
it's an NFL game for a new head coach and
we haven't even seen him yet. And frankly, the Huskies
looked good in that they did what I said they
should do last week. They pulled off the one versus
the sixteen. You should beat them by thirty points, and
they did beat them by thirty two points. So they
(08:47):
worked exactly how we wanted them to look. We'll see
it again, hopefully this Saturday. But at the end of
the day, like, I'm more nervous about the NFL game.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Well, the NFL, I mean, because typically NFL games are
more of a crapshootright. NFL games are more fourth quarter
games than college games. You see blowouts all over college football.
You don't often see blowouts in the NFL. You know,
Dick and I were talking about this, I think on
the year a couple of days ago. If you look
at the spreads this weekend, you got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve,
(09:18):
thirteen games are four points or less this weekend thirteen
of them. And I know this because I had to
get my survivor pick in today. The Bengals are given
eight and a half against the Patties, Buffalo's given six
against Arizona, and the Seahawks are given six against Denver.
I mean, the Seahawks are one of the bigger favorites
on the board this weekend. All right, we got a
lot to get to you fun with Lottio three forty five,
Chris Creighton, Roosevelt High School grad and the head coach
(09:40):
at Eastern Michigan University. We'll see if he wants to
talk some smack and say something deroged tory about you,
dubb that can find the message board. Next on ninety
three three KJRFM.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
Live from the R and R Foundation Specialists Broadcast Studio.
Now back to Softie and Dick on your home for
the Huskies and the Kraken Sports Radio ninety three point
three kjr FM.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
All Right, the debut at least on this show. What's really,
let's face it is all that matters. Did we ever
figure out are we the rating champs? We are? And
we've won three of the last four years. Okay, Well,
then you want to really get a proper pick, not
some kind of rookie pick from the other shows. Three
thirty five, about thirteen minutes away, the first pick of
the year for us on Factor Fiction, brought to you
(10:27):
by the ameral Queen Casino. Get to that. Coming up
fun with audio as well. The Husky Hawks, Greg Lewis,
Mario Bailey joining us at four this afternoon, but joining
us right now on the radio show. God, it's just unbelievable.
Everybody in town. Man, I know him, I knew him.
I played soccer with him, I played football with him. God,
enough is enough already the head coach at Eastern Michigan
(10:48):
going to be here on Saturday for a bit of
a homecoming. Chris Creighton joining us right now on the
radio show. Chris, Welcome to Seattle KJR Radio.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
How you doing man, I'm great, Thanks for having me on.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
I appreciate well, we appreciate you doing this. So I
said you were coming on, and I get all these
text messages from guy said he played soccer with you
back in the eighties. Guy named Matt Hobbs, one of
our dudes here at the at the radio station. Hugh Millan,
who was I think he was preceding you at Roosevelt.
He knows the name Chris Creighton. So does this feel
(11:19):
like a bit of a homecoming for you? And if so,
how many people will be in the stands that year?
And you guys on Saturday?
Speaker 4 (11:25):
Well listen, did I just hear you guys say Mario Bailey?
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Yes, yes, so.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
From Franklin High School. Mario Bailey.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Correct, he's actually sitting He's sitting about twenty feet from
me right now, so he.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
Won't remember me. But we played every freshman JV and
then varsity basketball game against each other, and then obviously
football my junior and senior year. Absolute stud and that
was just good to hear that name. So yeah, it
will be Please tell him, I say hello.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
No, I will do that for sure. Yeah. We do
a little show called the Husky Hanks every year every
week and Greg lewis, who, as you know, is also
from the area. We used to have guys like Hugh
Millan Dick Baird on the show, but Dick Bard retired
and Hugh Millan went to watch his kids play football.
So Greg and Mario are are the new Hawks, and
we're going to talk about your game coming up at
four o'clock. But tell me about what this means to
(12:19):
you man, coming back Saturday at twelve thirty Husky Stadium.
I mean, heck, you went to high school just down
the road.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
I did. Yeah, I sure did, and I'm super excited
about it. You know, when we got Washington on the schedule,
you know, my ad just said, hey, look, would this
be this be a fun thing? And I mean it was, yeah,
it was like almost emotional, you know, just I grew up.
I mean I walked to some Husky games growing up,
(12:47):
and it wasn't like we had season tickets, but you know,
I'd have a friend or two that would let me
tag along once or twice a year, and it was
just a huge deal. And Seattle was yeah, I mean
Seattle is home for me, so really really really close
friendships and people that have been a huge part of
my life that are you know, in and from Seattle,
(13:09):
and so I can't wait to get back and for
our team to be able to experience, you know, being
in Seattle and playing such an awesome program and you know,
tradition and all that like you love so well.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
When you schedule the game, you probably thought you'd be
coaching against Kaitlin de Boor, and now he's the head
coach at Alabama and Jetfish is the head coach at Washington.
So for people that don't know, I'll let you fill
him in. When I say the name Kaitlyn de Boor,
what what does that mean to you?
Speaker 4 (13:41):
Well, oh, I love Kaylen and always will. You know,
we I hired him as as my offensive coordinator my
first three years here when I got the job at
Eastern Michigan, and we had known of each other and
had a lot of mutual friends, but had never worked
or really spent time with each other. And you know,
(14:02):
those were some some really hard years here, uh, at
Eastern Michigan that we were kind of in a fox
hole together, but ended up having a breakout year that
third year. And I absolutely love Caitlin to board, There's
no no doubt about it. And you know, we actually
scheduled the game before he got the job there and then, uh, obviously,
(14:25):
and it wasn't just Caitlin, but I mean Ryan Grubb
was here, and Ronnie mckeefrey was was our head strength
coach here and Shaq Van and Ryan Fank. So I
think there's five guys that uh, you know, we're there
the last couple of years, and I've pulled them all
that it's a forfeit. When they left, I said, hey,
look yet, that's a forfeit. I'm want to know, against
(14:46):
one of the each and every one of those guys
for not being here now. So but yeah, that's what
it means to me.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
Well, it's amazing that Caitlin's now the head coach at
Alabama and Ryan Grubb is now the offensive coordinator for
the Seahawks just down the road obvious here in the NFL.
So that is a that's a hell of a tree
for you. But Chris Creighton again Eastern Michigan head coach,
Eagles will be here Saturday taking on you dub at
twelve thirty. And this is not an unfamiliar situation for
you guys. I mean, you guys kind of have a
(15:14):
you know, bring anybody on at all times mentality. I mean,
wins over Arizona State, Illinois, Purdue. Going back to twenty eighteen,
somebody I thought said, you guys are like nine to
five against Power five opponents, lots of upsets all over
the place. So tell me about why these games are
important for your program and why you think you guys
usually do pretty well in them.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
Yeah, I don't. I mean, our record certainly isn't nine
and five versus you know, those programs, but we we've
won a few, and you know, I just think that
the kind of person that we hire and the kind
of guy that we attracked and retruit to the program
or guys that you know, believe in themselves and might
(15:57):
have a chip on her shoulder and you know, want
to want to prove that. You know, the patch on
the chest doesn't fully describe you know, who you are,
how good you are, and so to be honest, it's
just an opportunity for guys to be able to, you know,
play against people that everybody thinks are better than them.
And you know, we believe in ourselves and you know,
(16:19):
we're going to give it all.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
We got.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Well, when I said nine and five, you may have
said that number is wrong. It's actually ten and four.
We'll just stay with that, by the way, and just
make people, make people believe you guys have some amazing record.
I don't know where I heard that from. That may
be against you know, like a FBS competition, I don't know.
But Chris Creighton, again the head coach at Eastern Michigan's
with us on the air, and Chris, I thought that
you dub had a lot of new players with forty
(16:41):
four until I talked to your play by play guy
this morning and he said, you've got over fifty. So
how many new players do you have? And how difficult
has it been to get all these guys on the
same page for this game Saturday?
Speaker 4 (16:56):
Yeah, I know, It's just we're in a new world, right,
I mean, people have been talking about that, you know, NonStop,
so and you better embrace it, you know, or find
something else to do. And we've got fifty three new
players since the end of last season, so you know,
the January, the beginning of that semester and then this summer,
(17:16):
and that includes our freshman class, and we you know,
will continue to recruit high school seniors and have a
freshman class, but we've also got junior college players and transfers.
And you know, after being here eleven years, you know,
we do have a certain feel and a certain culture
and we know who we are, and so I think
(17:37):
that that helps us attract the people who are going
to fit here because we just we really do know
who we are. And so even though it's fifty three.
I'll tell you that's that's all our guys talk about,
is it just doesn't feel as though we have, you know,
a bunch of new players, because you know, those new
(17:58):
players are just to get fit, right, and so when
you meet somebody and they're just going to end up
being a close friend, right, it usually doesn't take all
that long. You just you kind of hit it off.
And so it's not perfect, I promise you that, but
we are together and yeah, but it's still I remind
(18:19):
myself every day that I can't assume anything. And that's
not really just about bringing everybody together, but things that
we've been doing for eleven years. You know, there's fifty
three guys who've never done it once. So there's a
lot of reminders that, yeah, yeah, thing, you know, times
have changed.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
It's ninety seven new players Chris on the field Saturday
that have only seen one game with their current team.
Between you and Jed Fish, I mean, that's just unprecedented.
And Chris Creighton again the head coach at Eastern Michigan
with US, I just wonder how you deal with the
nil era in the MAC. I mean with Washington, it's
an arms race. You know Ryan Day Ohio State spending
(18:58):
twenty million dollars. Jedsh Is on the air with US
coach like two weeks ago saying we got like a
third of that at you, dub. I mean, how do
you do that at Eastern Michigan? How do you stay
competitive when you're just simply put looking to buy players?
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Now?
Speaker 4 (19:13):
Yeah, I'm you know, I'm not an NFL coach and
I've never aspired to be, and and so we you know,
we're not buying players. You know, there's uh, there's still
guys out there that you know, want to want to
find a program and want to be a part of
a team, and want to be coached and want to develop.
And you know, we we lose guys, There's no question.
(19:34):
And I'm never going to get used to that. I
you know, it just goes against every fiber in my body.
And obviously we've brought new people in, but I think
that you know, you can get yourself probably into some
trouble if you're recruiting people that you know their primary
deal is to try to you know, make money. And
(19:56):
I guess a lot of people would throw stones at
me for that, but I I do think that there's
still people that you know football and are passionate about it.
And I have zero issue with if guys get in
il deals and all that, I have nothing against that,
and I think it's that's awesome. But we're going to
try to find people that aren't playing, you know, because
(20:20):
they're being paid over and above you know of what
the scholarship is and so anyway, that is not a
real popular sentiment. But it's me being honest. I would
take a third though, of Ryan Day's money. I wouldn't
complain about that.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
Hey, guess what, so would I. We're in the same
boat with that. I had something to do with it,
no question. Chris, Before you go, Chris Creighton again went
to Roosevelt High School. He's now the head coach at
Eastern Michigan. They'll be here on Saturday at twelve thirty,
and I'll be honest, I have not watched your team
play yet this year. I was searching for some UMass highlights.
I'm sure I'll find some before Saturday. But for those
(20:58):
that don't know a lot about the goals and what
you guys bring to the table, what should what should
fans look out for Saturday? Oh?
Speaker 4 (21:06):
Man, just a bunch of dudes who love this game
and love each other and come from all over the
country to you know, Ipsilanti, Michigan, and then yeah, we'll,
uh well, we'll give you everything we got. You know.
That's that's I can I can guarantee you that that
got a bunch of guys that uh well, we'll put
(21:26):
it all out on the line and hopefully do it
with class.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Well, it's typically a war when you play in these games. Man,
I expect nothing less on Saturday. I also expect to
see about five hundred Roosevelt alums rooting yawn and the
game on Saturday. Maybe they're all dog fans, but for
one week they'll root for you and then come back
to us and the Apple Cup next Saturday. By the way,
the Apple Cup is a week from Saturday. Coach, it's
nuts the landscape now around college football. Hey, listen, best
(21:52):
of luck down the road. Thanks for doing this and
we'll talk soon. Coach. Appreciate this, I really appreciate it.
Have a great day now you. Chris Creighton the head
coach at Eastern Michigan. He's a Roosevelt High School graduate
and now he's going to bring the Eagles in here
on Saturday to take on the dogs at twelve thirty.
All right, So for those that don't know Factor Fiction,
every day for like the next gajillion days on this
(22:14):
radio station, every day seven thirty five, eleven thirty five,
two thirty five, three thirty five, we give you a pick,
and it's your job to just tune in. Some people
set alarm, some people set alarms to just send in
Factor fiction at like three forty. You got twelve minutes
once the pick is made on the air to get
your selections in. All this is brought to you by
the Emerald Queen. It is literally the easiest contest in America.
(22:38):
All you have to do is listen four times a
day for like four seconds, and then just text in
fact or fiction depending on the pick we get. If
you like it, you text in fact. If you hate it,
you text in fiction. And it's our turn right now,
where's that to go? Glad you're with us.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
It's your shot at our weekly thousand bucks and the
ten dollar grand prize. It's fact door Fiction, brought to
you by the Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital of
the Northwest.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
Make the beautiful New week.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
You see sportsbooky your home all football season long fact
Door Fiction is on Sports Radio ninety three point three
KJR FM.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
All right, big, thanks again to our friends at the
Emerald Queen Casino. Twenty selections a week except for this week.
There's nothing on Monday. Every day seven thirty five, eleven
thirty five, two thirty five, and three thirty five beginning
today ending on the sixth of December. The most picks
right by the end of the year wins ten thousand
dollars courtesy of the Emerald Queen Casino. And we're still
(23:41):
doing the one thousand dollars weekly prize obviously. So if
you get one pick right a week, I think it's ridiculous.
And it's only one. I think you should get at
least like two or three. I mean, imagine going one
for twenty and winning one thousand dollars lucky. I mean,
come on, So we make twenty picks a week except
for this week. When you get sixteen, you get one
I'm right one on any show. We just randomly pull
(24:03):
one correct pick from any show and we give that
person a thousand dollars courtesy of the Emeral Queen Casino.
Very very cool. What the emeral Queen is doing. We've
been doing this for a long long time now and
fired up at their back on the air doing factor fiction.
So here's where we're at this morning. Bucky taking the
Seahawks over his Actually, no, he took the over forty
two in the Seahawks game. He sees a couple of
(24:25):
points scored in that game. Greg Gigabell shockingly took his
beloved Army against Florida Atlantic and the under forty two
and a half. And Ian Ferness took the Seahawks minus
the points against the Denver Broncos ninety percent. By the way,
I agree with Ian so far. The most agreements on
that is with Ian's picks. So here's what I got
my eye on. I had my eye on two games.
(24:46):
One was the Cougar Texas Tech game and the other
was the Oregon Boys STEA game. I think Oregon is
good and pissed about the way they played on Saturday
against Idaho. I think Oregon is the kind of team
that would admit when we play teams like that, want
to blow them out of the water because Oregon, as
you know, is always being, always will be about style
points and none of that sat well with anybody fan, base, players,
(25:09):
locker room, whatever. On Saturday, coming down to the wire
in the fourth quarter against the Potatoes of Idaho and
the Vandals, I mean, disgraceful effort by Oregon. I think
they're good. I think Oregon's a good football team. I
think Boise State gave up forty five to Georgia freakin'
Southern over the weekend. They won a fifty six to
forty five game. I thought Oregon was given eighteen and
(25:32):
a half. It's now nineteen and a half and I'm
still gonna roll with it. I think the Ducks roll,
and if they don't, they got problems, which is good
for Softy. Either way, either A they win and they
cover or B they're a trade wreck. Either way we're
a winner, baby. If we're Husky fans, give me the
Ducks minus done nineteen and a half against Boise State.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
I really like the logic there of either way you win.
As I pick itself. I don't because Boise State has
that running back. Didn't he rush for like five hundred
yards and eighteen touchdowns again in that Georgia's.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
Southern gent Yeah, he ran for two sixty seven against
Georgia Southern. I'm worried Georgia Southern Jackson. They're a high
school team. I'm still worried about Boys State keeping in
a game. I mean, Boise and State's a team that didn't.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Some people pick them to be like the other group
participant in the playoff coming up. I mean, like people
seem to think that they're a good team. So I'm
a little bit worried about this pick.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Nah, No, I'm not at all. Again. Either way, you're
going to Bedfield and Good either A or one to
zero survivor or B. The Ducks are gonna flip out
man on on Sunday morning, Monday morning when people go
back to work. If they can't put away Boise State,
there's gonna be unrest in Eugene. So give me the
Ducks minus the points factor fiction to four nine, four
to five to one. Fact. If you agree fiction. If
(26:46):
you don't like the picking, you're bleeding blue for Boise

fun with Audio. Jimmy g pawn Star, Jimmy mister garoppolo.
(27:11):
Now let's have some fun with audio.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
All right?
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Here we go the segment everybody has been waiting for,
at least me and Jackson. There might be maybe a
couple more, but I'd say pretty popular segment, well received
by the listening audience, no question. Fun with audio. Every
single day on this radio show, we take you around
the globe. We span the globe for the best sports
(27:37):
and entertainment audio possible, as provided by the friends of
ours and awful announcing on Twitter. More than that today?
Oh really okay? This one? All right? Well, here we go.
I'll be the judge of that. Hey, Jackson, did you
happen to hear that? Dave? What's that?
Speaker 4 (27:51):
Dick?
Speaker 2 (27:51):
We start with former Patriot linebacker Rodney and Covid hosting
an NFL podcast, and on this week's show went in
hard on former Hatriot quarterback Mac Jones.
Speaker 5 (28:02):
You don't like us either. I don't like you I
don't give me. You think I don't all smack the
it's not like you. I don't care.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
I'm fine with him. He does not like you.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
I don't care. Do you care if somebody doesn't like you? No, exactly,
I'm just telling you. I hope he has a great
career as a backup. He makes a ton of money.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
What's the last love? How everybody's like we should not.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
Ever got rid of him? Oh god, it didn't work out.
It didn't work out. They needed to change. The demeanor
alone between mac Jones and Drake May are completely different.
Oh yeah, Like I could listen to freaking yeah. You know,
I just got to keep working and got to get better.
(28:43):
And you know, I'm just gonna keep working hard and
over and over and over and over again. I'd rather
listen to Drake May talk than Yeah. Yeah, my modeling
career didn't work out. So you know now I'm back
down here in Jacksonville and go my mom's picking me like,
it's just I need I needed some more nuts.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
He said he wanted bigger nuts. He wants this quarterback
to have him. Okay, Uh, what's his problem with mac Jones?
I don't know. He was softer, He didn't like his demeanor,
all that stuff. Geez wow, all over the board with
the hate on. Holy moly. So, I mean Drake May
has got to be over here, like man, I hope
I don't disappoint him. He's gonna barbecue me. For God's
(29:28):
It just seems like kind of a random guy to
be angry about. Yeah, was it his fault they drafted
him in the first round? Was it his fault they
gave him the offense? Was it his fault they put
him as high as they did on their draft board? Actiman,
he's not ripping Bill Belichick for taking mac Jones. Ah, well,
I mean I know why because Bill Belichick won six titles,
for God's sakes with the Patriots. But I don't know.
(29:49):
I mean his mac Jones and gender like a negative
emotion out of you when you think of him.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
No, but clearly, I mean he referenced like some modeling
comments and like I don't know if mac Jones like
was speaking like that in team meetings or anything, but
feels very random that out of place, say, I would
slap the you know what out of him.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
I wonder if he pissed him off one day or
like you know, blew him off, or an autograph or
a party invite or something like that. That sounds like
some has got a personal gripe with somebody. That sounds
like which I never ever, ever have a personal gripe
with anybody. All Right, Hey Jackson, did you happen to
hear that? What's that? Dick? All right? Speaking of former Patriots,
let's turn our attention to Tom Brady, who has now
becoming an NFL on Fox broadcast this morning on Boomer
(30:28):
and G on WFA and host Greg Gneeddi had this
to say about Brady's reputation being on the line.
Speaker 6 (30:34):
This is what's amazing about broadcasting and doing a good
job or a bad job. Tom Brady, the most accomplished player,
has had it all, great looking, got businesses. He's aging backwards.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
You know who's also aging backwards by the way, Rob Low. Yeah,
people have said that.
Speaker 6 (30:55):
Yeah, anyway, all this that Tom Brady's done, if he
isn't good in that booth, he will become a joke
to everybody.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
He's gonna be good. He's gonna be fine.
Speaker 6 (31:05):
I'm just telling you. We've seen it before. It doesn't
matter what you were in the past. If you aren't
good in that booth, they will roast your ass.
Speaker 4 (31:15):
Well.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
RG three got fired by ESPN because a lot of
people thought he was bad on TV. I thought RG
three was good and still like RG three. But here's
the thing. As ridiculous as it sounds for him to
say something like that, I think for a significant portion
of the population that will get only bigger as the
year goes by. He might be right, because there's gonna
(31:37):
be people in fifteen twenty years from now that won't
know Tom Brady is a player, but will know him
more as a broadcaster, just like we know John Madden,
Pat Summer, all right, all the Frank Gifford. I mean,
we grew up watching these people on TV, and none
of us had any idea they played or coached in
the NFL. We just knew him as broadcasters. And maybe
(31:59):
Brady he's the one guy because he's Tom Brady. But Jackson,
I'm telling you, everybody eventually gets old, and everybody eventually
loses their relevance. And the longer Tom Brady goes into broadcasting,
and the more people get to know him as a
broadcaster versus a quarterback, the more people would judge him
simply as a broadcast.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
I disagree, and I go back to your comment because
maybe he just is Tom Brady. It is because he
is just Tom Brady. He's the greatest ever do it,
maybe the greatest to do it in any American sport ever.
And I think that Fox will do a good job
of keeping and making sure that years down the road,
the new viewers, the younger viewers understand, yeah, this guy's
(32:39):
he might be a terrible broadcaster. By then we'll, you know,
ten years down the road, we'll know if he's a
terrible broadcaster, and he very well might be, but they'll
do a very good job of establishing Listen, folks, he
might be a bad broadcaster, but understand, this is the
greatest to ever do it.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
I just don't think that even.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
I mean, if I have a kid next year, for example,
ten twelve years down the road, if he's watching a
Fox game and Brady's broadcasting, and you better be knowing that,
I'm going to be saying, listen, don't worry about how
bad this guy is. Understand he's the best to ever
do it. I'll just give you an example.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
And again, maybe you're right about Brady, but a guy
like Matt Millen became a joke when he was the
GM of the Lions as a broadcaster, and he was
like an all pro linebacker in the NFL win six
Super Bowls. It was the greatest of all time. But again,
I think the longer time goes, the more people will
just see him as a broadcaster, because there's gonna be
(33:34):
people that grew up five year olds right now, eight
year olds right now that never watched him play. I
don't know. I don't think it's crazy what he's saying
at all. Let's get one more, Hey, Jackson, did you
happen to hear that? What's that?
Speaker 4 (33:48):
Three? Or four?
Speaker 2 (33:48):
You pick one?
Speaker 3 (33:49):
Four?
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Which one? Four? All right? During yesterday's Cubs Pirates game,
Marquee Sports Chicago, welcome young Parker Mead to the broadcast booth,
who had won a contest to join the announcers. During
his visit, shortstop Dansby Swanson hit a home run. Lea,
my dam. We'rend to the garage and we recorded it.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
Look at this, Dansby Swanson.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
I'll touch them all and it's want nothing, Dadda Parker.
Speaker 5 (34:20):
This all run.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
He's bossing you, y Toyota. I gotta be honest with you,
that sounds like a twenty four year old girl with
a really squeaky voice, is what that sounds like. Husky
and Hanks are coming next on ninety three three kJ
