He is the former Pope of the pack, the new
Big ten baron. It's our friend from the San Jose
Mercury News, John at Wilner.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
How are you, man?
Speaker 5 (00:46):
I'm good? Thanks?
Speaker 4 (00:47):
How are you?
Speaker 2 (00:48):
I'm good? I mean god? Where do we start?
Speaker 6 (00:50):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Opening weekend for the PAC two, Opening weekend for the
Big ten, Opening weekend for the Big twelve. How much
has your workload increased in the last like nine months?
Speaker 7 (00:59):
Man?
Speaker 8 (01:01):
You know a little bit, just because there's a few
more conferences to cover, there's more games to watch. I
probably watched all are parts of twenty twenty two games.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:12):
And the interesting thing was there was a lot of
off the field news for opening weekend. Right the Comcast
blacked out in the Pacific Northwest. That was a constant,
constantly evolving situation, the Washington State, Oregon State discussions with
the Mountain West as well.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
So busy on the field, busy off the field.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Well, let's start right there with the Comcast Big Ten deal.
I will be honest with you, this last weekend forced
my hand. I have been close to cutting the cour
of cable for a long time, and I finally did it.
I went out and got Fubo, took the last remaining
cable box I had down this morning calling Comcast either
(01:54):
tonight or tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
I'm just done.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
And I don't know if this is necessarily Comcast fault
or the ten being greedy, but other platforms have found
a way to figure it out, and I don't think
the average consumer really gives a damn whose fault it is.
When it's all said and done, When you have a
platform and you expect certain programming, and you don't get it.
You get pissed off, and a lot of people are
cutting the cord because of this last week. And what
(02:17):
was your take on the way people reacted to it
and how close we are to maybe getting something worked out?
Speaker 5 (02:24):
You know, I think it could be a few weeks
at this point.
Speaker 8 (02:26):
Usually with these you know, disputes, the carriage disputes, if
it doesn't get done before the first game, it can
take a while.
Speaker 5 (02:34):
Because clearly neither side was willing to budge.
Speaker 8 (02:39):
Comcasts viewed their downside risk as manageable in terms of
people like.
Speaker 5 (02:44):
Yourself cutting the cord.
Speaker 8 (02:47):
But the big seat, the Big ten, cannot, under any
circumstances give in, in my opinion, because most of these
carriage contracts have what's called the most Favored nation clause right,
which means you have to offer everybody the same rate,
the best rate. So if the Big ten network said, okay, Fox,
(03:08):
you can continue to have or I'm sorry, if they said, okay, Comcast,
you can continue to put Oregon Washington games on a
sports tier for a quarter per month per subscriber, then
they'd have to give that deal to everybody, and it
blows up their business model.
Speaker 5 (03:26):
So they have to hold the line for the higher price.
Speaker 8 (03:29):
That is why the pactul of network could never get
on DirecTV because DirecTV wanted to pay a lower rate
than everybody else. If they had agreed, then they have
to go and lower the rate for everybody else and
their business.
Speaker 5 (03:41):
Model blows up.
Speaker 8 (03:42):
So the Big ten Fox can't give in and Comcast
is going to hold out.
Speaker 6 (03:47):
It could be weeks because Washington has a game on
the Big Ten network this week and usc does, and
those are the only two games scheduled for the Big
ten Network as of now for the four West Coast schools.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
So Comcast wants to pay the less than what other
platforms are paying for the same programming.
Speaker 5 (04:04):
Pretty much they don't want to pay.
Speaker 8 (04:06):
And I don't know exactly what the sub fees are,
but once the Huskies, let's say the Huskies were to
move onto a basic tier on Comcast right all of
a sudden, that means abuck fifty per sub per month,
whereas if you're on.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
A sports tier, it's say a quarter a sub per month.
Speaker 8 (04:23):
So that's a lot of extra money that gets passed
on to the Comcast customer that and many of them
don't care about Washington or Oregon, and yet they have
to absorb the cost. So Comcasts would argue they're fighting
for their customers. But like you said, everybody else agreed
(04:44):
to the Big ten network's rate for the being on
expanded basic.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Well, John wilners with us, John, do we know? Maybe
we don't know.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Maybe you get kind of a sense of how many
people out there actually used this as a reason in
to cut the cord and move on from cable, because
I'm seeing more activity on social media and more people
seem to be annoyed by this than maybe at any
other time.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
Yeah, I think it's increasing for sure, because the options
are pretty good.
Speaker 8 (05:15):
I cut the cord a couple of years ago and
it felt good to get get out from under Comcast's thumb,
to be honest with you, So we have we have
YouTube TV, and it's great and I would recommend it
to anybody.
Speaker 5 (05:31):
So I totally get it.
Speaker 8 (05:33):
And I don't know exactly how many Comcast subscribers there
are in metropolitan Seattle. I think it's several hundred thousand,
but I wouldn't be surprised at all if this, you know,
goes on, if it causes ten twenty thousand people to
cut the cord and just say I'm done because you
got good options.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Yeah, no doubt. Competition is good for the consumer, no
question about it. John Wiler is with us, and speaking
of cutting the cord, Idaho almost cut the co on
Oregon season. They almost went to Austin Stadium and won
for God's sakes on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
In the end, the Ducks got it done.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
But honestly, how concerned should Oregon fans be after what
they saw against the Vandals this weekend?
Speaker 8 (06:14):
I would say not panic, but maybe a little bit
of mild concern. Some of it probably was Oregon reading
the headlines for eight months about how good they were
going to be. But they also did not execute very
well on the offensive line, and that surprised me. Mister
Simon's penalties, they could not consistently create running lanes, and
(06:36):
that was that was a.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
Little bit surprising.
Speaker 8 (06:38):
It's not like they've got you know, they lost a
couple big time players, you know, losing Jackson powers Johnson,
that's a big time loss.
Speaker 5 (06:47):
But they've got good players up there.
Speaker 8 (06:49):
I was surprised that particular aspect of their performance is
what surprised me the most.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
No doubt, how about you dub against Weaver, a little
slow start, fourteen to nothing win, thirty five three. Jonah
Coleman has a big day with three touchdowns. Since you've
got YouTube TV, then you got the Big Ten network
and you got to see the Huskies play.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
I did, yes, I did watch them for sure.
Speaker 8 (07:12):
I thought they played real well overall, when you consider
first game, new coach, all those new players, especially at
the you know, the units that really require cohesive, this
offensive line and the secondary. I thought overall it was
a very impressive performance for Washington. It seems though, and
maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, but they are gonna really
(07:35):
have to lean into the running game, I think, at
least for the first few weeks, until they get the
timing cohesiveness down with the passing game.
Speaker 5 (07:43):
And Coleman's a big time back.
Speaker 8 (07:45):
He was really good at Arizona, and if they can
run block pretty consistently for him, they should be okay
until the passing game kind of gets.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
Up to speed.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Yeah, so John Wilters with us and John I don't
want to look past anybody. I think when you got
forty four new players and you don't even know who
your best five offensive linemen are, you got no right
to look by anybody, but you Dub's got Eastern Michigan
this week, and the Kougs have Texas Tech, and Texas
Tech barely won against Abilene Christian. They won a fifty
one overtime game over Ablene Christian on Saturday, and the
(08:17):
Red Raiders are going to Pullman. So I think both
teams will be two or zero. And then we're looking
ahead to the Apple Cup. And I was talking to
Christian Caple about this, who you know obviously about the
Apple Cup, and I'm more nervous about it than other
people are. And Christian made a good point. He said,
the Apple Cup is now a game that if Washington wins,
it should be considered a decent victory for you, Dub
and not just a cakewalk.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
What do you think?
Speaker 8 (08:39):
I think that depends on how the Cougars play against
Texas Tech, to be honest. And I'm not sure if
Texas Tech is bad or if they just had a
bad opening game defensively against Ableene Christian.
Speaker 5 (08:51):
So let's see how they do against Texas Tech.
Speaker 8 (08:54):
If the Cougars win that game decisively, you know, maybe
it's thirty four to twenty four. Something that forty to
thirty and then Washington wins. Yeah, I would agree with you.
Then I think it does go down as a quality win.
But if the Cougars lose this week.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
Then you know, you kind of have to look at
it a little bit different light.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
John Wilner is with us. John.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
The Colorado and North Dakota State game from last week.
I think that was on a Friday. We haven't talked
since then Thursday. Thank you.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
They they win, but they barely win.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Deon Sanders comes out and says, I know a lot
of media people are angry that we lost and are won.
And he's exactly right because a lot of people are
rooting against Colorado now, I mean, they're like the new Oregon.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
Everybody hates them, right, you know.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
They've they've they've kind of taken their spot on that
on that throne. But what do you make of just
the way that Dion's going about doing things down there
in Colorado? And how concerned should Colorado fans be about
getting pushed around by North Dakota State.
Speaker 8 (09:55):
Yeah that well, North Dakota State is a very good
FCS team, But there's you're certainly a little bit of
concern that it didn't look like they were a whole
lot better in some areas. To me, they just seem
like they're a two man team between Shirr Sanders and
Travis Hunter, right, And they got to develop other playmakers,
they got to develop a running game, they got to
be able to kind of lock down on defense. But
(10:18):
certainly they have created a situation where they are, you know,
the enemy to a lot of people. And it's a
national deal too. Or I never got the sense that
nationally people hated Oregon more West coast, But there's a
lot of folks that are really put off by the
(10:38):
way Dion is running his program. By the spat he's
in with the reporter from the Denver Post, the stuff
that his sons are doing off the field, they have
gotten a lot of naysayers, a lot of enemies, and
he may be using that as motivation, you know, circling
the wagons kind of a deal. But the bottom line
(10:59):
is this week, the brast is pretty good and they
could lose this game, and then all of a sudden,
if they start losing, the tolerance level for Dion, I
think on campus is gonna start to shrink. All these
antics you can put up with the antics. If you're winning,
it's a lot different if you're not winning.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Yeah, I'm kind of looking forward to seeing what happens
if they do go on a slide. To be honest
with you, you know what kind of meltdown commences in
Bolder and who Dion blame is besides himself and the
players for the whole thing falling apart. But maybe the
biggest win over the weekend Lincoln Riley.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
Did he get his biggest win as the USC head
coach on Sunday in Vegas over LSU.
Speaker 8 (11:42):
I've seen it referred to that way, and I was
trying to think. I guess they didn't technically win a
PAC twelve title in the first two years, so you
could make the case.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
They I believe they beat Notre Dame his first year.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
They did. They did, then they lost to Utah twice
in the year.
Speaker 5 (12:00):
Remember that they lost to you to rees.
Speaker 8 (12:03):
You could probably argue, but we don't know if LSU
is really that good, right this is the.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
Fifth straight season opening loss. I think LSU is a
second tier SEC team.
Speaker 8 (12:14):
I think LSU is like eight and four and maybe
they're maybe they're you know, four and four five and
three in the SEC that could put a little bit
different light on USC's win. But certainly they looked a
lot more confident on defense and they're not as good
on offense, and those are the two things you expected.
I'm just kind of taking away and see a little
(12:35):
bit because I'm not sold on LSU this year.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Right right, well, And USC has got kind of the
opposite of the of the Husky schedule. Husky schedules kind
of backloaded. While USC's got LSU this week, Michigan two
weeks and then Penn State in week six, for God's sake.
First half of the year they got, they got three
tough ones. But you're right that playing USC used to
be kind of a get right game for offenses, and
(12:58):
that wasn't at least the case for for those guys
on Sunday. But John Wilner is with us, and John
I saw where they are. We calling it the PAC
twelve or the PAC two. Let's just get this out
of the way, now, how are you referring to it.
Speaker 5 (13:09):
I'm calling it the PAC twelve because that is the official.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
Name, gotcha.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
So the PAC twelve with two teams, the Big ten
with eighteen teams, obviously, so they're all just labels now.
They are not going to get their Mountain West scheduling
deal extended into next year.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
What does that mean for Wazoo in Oregon State?
Speaker 8 (13:27):
Both teams still need six games for next season, and
they need to go find those.
Speaker 5 (13:33):
I think they might get a.
Speaker 8 (13:34):
Couple with some of the ACC schools, but they are
going to put together basically independent schedules and we'll see,
you know, how what the quality is with those. I
can understand why they decided not to extend the Mountain
West deal. It was pretty expensive. The Mountain West drove
a little bit of a hard bargain, I thought. But
(13:56):
at the same time, they you know, I don't know
how many options good options they've got for Power four
getting Power four schools on that schedule, So we'll see.
It doesn't, though, mean that they have something imminent with
the ACC or Big Twelve in terms of scheduling. It
also doesn't mean that they can't do a longer term
(14:18):
merger with the Mountain West. It's two separate deals. The
scheduling thing for twenty five is different than any kind
of merger or reverse merger starting in twenty twenty six.
That still is on the table.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
Well, look, I mean, obviously they'll be joined by somebody
at some point in time. How I guess for Cougar
fans and Beaver fans, the question comes down to this,
how long will they only have each other? How long
until they're a part of an actual ten twelve fourteen
team conference?
Speaker 8 (14:47):
Again July of twenty twenty six, Well, I shouldn't say
that they have a two year grace period. And I
don't know if that two years started on July first,
because it's the start of the fiscal year, or if
it started on August second, because that was the day
that they were abandoned officially. So it's either July first
(15:08):
or August second of twenty twenty six. They got to
be in a conference that could be in the Mountain West.
It also could be anywhere from six to eight to
twelve Mountain West schools joining.
Speaker 5 (15:21):
The PAC twelve.
Speaker 8 (15:22):
Those are the two most likely scenarios, and by twenty
it has to be by the summer twenty twenty six,
that's the end of their grace period.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
I guess the question would be why why would Wazoo
in Oregon State not join the Mountain West versus the
Mountain West join them.
Speaker 5 (15:39):
Because there's more value in the PAC twelve name.
Speaker 8 (15:44):
As depleted as it is, the PAC twelve still carries
more weight nationally, more weight with sponsors than the Mountain
West does.
Speaker 5 (15:53):
So that's the reason.
Speaker 8 (15:55):
And I don't know who would run the league, who'd
be the commissioner exactly, but it would require the Mountain
West school saying yet, yeah, we could just get more money,
brought a better brand value with the PAC twelve names.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Yeah, all right, John, before you go two more. One
thing we forgot to do last week was Willner's winner.
We got to get you on record. Oh yeah, we
gotta get a pick.
Speaker 5 (16:17):
I was taken Idaho.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
I was, well, you would have won that big time
because they covered whatever the spread was, they covered it.
But we'll get your pick for the for the week
in a matter of seconds here. But I'm gonna make
a prediction. I don't think I'm really going out on
a limb, especially after Week one. I did say before
the season started the cam Ward is gonna win the
Heisman Trophy at Miami. And he looked pretty damn good
(16:39):
against Florida, obviously, but Florida could be terrible. Cam Ward
and Ted McMillan will both be in New York for
the Heisman ceremony.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
True true or false.
Speaker 5 (16:51):
False.
Speaker 8 (16:53):
I don't see it's gonna be hard for McMillan as
a receiver in place for Arizona going to be real hard.
I think for him to generate enough national support, especially
with Travis Hunter.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
Yeah, that's that he's going.
Speaker 8 (17:07):
To take boats away is if he stays healthy and
continues to play both ways, he's going to take boats
away from McMillan.
Speaker 5 (17:14):
Cam Worts.
Speaker 8 (17:16):
I watched him at Washington State for two years and
didn't see enough consistency.
Speaker 5 (17:22):
He went through stretches of like three or four.
Speaker 8 (17:24):
Games where he was just enough funk, and I am
not convinced that Mario Cristobal is the guy to get.
Speaker 5 (17:31):
Him past that. So I'm expecting Ward to have at
some point a slump and that will probably be enough
to derail his chances.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
All right, got it before you go?
Speaker 3 (17:43):
The inaugural addition for twenty twenty four because we skipped
it last week, which means we forgot of Willner's winner
the Wendel Orean. Every Tuesday at this time, we'll give
you a pick for the weekend. Big ten Pac twelve,
big twelve. I mean, you get so many options now, John,
to choose from. Who do you like in Willac Oh?
Speaker 8 (18:03):
All right, I don't know what the I don't know
what the number is, but I like Cal at Auburn.
Justin Wilcock's team usually plays very well on those difficult
trips to the.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
Eastern time zone Central time zone. They played.
Speaker 8 (18:19):
They might have even beaten one of the Mississippi schools
a couple of years ago. I actually like Cal, not
only to cover. I think we got a chance to
win that game.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
Well, Cal's getting thirteen points. Oh, ad Jordan hare this Saturday.
All right, Cal plus the thirteen is the play for
John versus Auburn. All right, man, great stuff, and we'll
talk next week. Buddy, Thanks pal, thanks a lot, you
got it. John Wilner likes the bearsh and the thirteen
points against Auburn. And Brian Schmitzer will join us coming
(18:47):
up at five forty five, and then d mac our
buddy from Shaki's station. I always say Shaky station in
Denver because I forget the name of the radio at
Altitude Sports. Thank you so much. At six pm, we'll
get some smack talk with the Broncos. Does he really
think that bo Nix is going to walk in here
and walk out with a win? Or is he gonna
(19:08):
go bo and four against Seattle based football teams starting Sunday.
We'll talk to him at six on ninety three three KJRFM.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
Live from the R and R Foundation Specialist Broadcast Studio.
Now back to Softie and Dick on your Home for
the Huskies and the Kraken Sports Radio ninety three point
three KJR FM.
Speaker 3 (19:32):

(19:54):
word Zoomcare. It's kind of fun to say Zoomcare, Jackson.
You should try it zoom Care. See very fun anyway.
Brian Schmitzer will join us right next segment five forty
five and then d Mac our buddy from Denver at
Altitude Sports aka Shaky Station. Darren McKee will join us
(20:15):
on the AAR and we'll talk to him about the
Broncos coming up on Sunday, Bonix versus Geno Smith. When
the first time they came here with Sean Payton we
had Geno Smith versus Russell Wilson. I wonder how much
of this we're gonna hear in the stadium on Sunday.
Sean Payton's gonna hear that, and as well, Actually it
(20:36):
wasn't Sean Payton.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
It was Nathaniel ha exactly the first time.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
So this is the first time he's come here as
the head coach of the Broncos. Look, I know that
the Seahawks or the Mariners sorry, are kind of starting
to fade away from everybody's sports conscious here. But and
I asked this question earlier in the year, and I'll
ask it again. I asked when the Mariners were starting
the season and things were, you know, going okay or
(21:01):
starting to stumble a little bit? Actually, is it fair
to talk about Scott's service? And then I asked that
same question of Mike Hopkins, Right, is it fair to
talk about who the next coach? Of the Huskies should
be while Mike Hopkins is still coaching at U UP
And most people said, it's totally fair, right, I mean,
he's on the way out the door. Only reason why
the guy is still here is because of his contract,
(21:23):
and we all knew that. Is it fair to start
talking about new general managers for the Mariners, new presidents
of Baseball operation for the Mariners, Because here's the thing,
this thing continues. I would not be surprised, but I
think we'd all be a little bit kind of h
(21:43):
if John Stanton brings Jerry to Poto back next year,
he's already fired Scott Servis, And if nothing changes under
Dan Wilson, I think you have to look at the roster, right,
because look, I think we all knew that hiring Dan
Wilson was just a hail Mary, right.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
We said that the day had happened. We don't expect
a lot to change.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
But I think we sit in the air if there's
like a fifteen percent chance that maybe a new manager
can make a different stew with the same ingredients. We
talked about that the Mexican restaurant with the five five
ingredients blah blah blah, making eighteen thousand different things. If
there's a small chance that a new manager can create
something different, then let's go ahead and just take the shot. Right,
(22:25):
Scott's done his job. We don't know him anything. We're
not talking about a World Series winner. Blah blah blah,
doesn't have Pete Carroll's cachet. Just cut the cord, make
the move. The Poto's the same way, right. I mean,
in the end, we all know the real problem is
the roster. We all know the real reeler problem is
the ownership group. Yes, but we're not going to force it,
(22:46):
and we're not going to force John Stanton to do anything.
But I think getting rid of Jerry Depoto would at
least show this fan base that, hey, we want to
be better. You bring them back. There's a lot of
people who was just question that. And actually I read
Daniel O'Neil's piece. You read Daniel O'Neil's piece. I'm not
saying he's wrong at all. My experiences with Jerry have
been fine, right, But I'm one guy. You know, I'm
(23:09):
not working with Jerry Depoto every single day. My experience
with him has been more than fine. But I can
understand and I can see Jackson how he could rub
people the wrong way, and I would be slightly if
they brought him back, a little bit surprised, I guess
if they brought him back. And here's the thing about
this Mariner President of Baseball Operations job, or you know,
(23:30):
GM job, whatever you want to call it, It should
be a pretty damn attractive job. It really should. I
mean Baseball America. I just saw somebody post on X
that Baseball America now has eight Mariners on their top
hundred list, eight of them. Okay, You've got Logan Gilbert
under club control for three more years, George Kirby for
(23:52):
four more years, Brian Wu, Bryce Miller for five, Julio's
signed to like a zillion dollar deal, Kyle Rowley's got
three more years left the club control all these guys,
and you have a top notch minor league system. This
should be attractive to a lot of people. The question is,
does John Stanton have the guts to go out and
(24:13):
hire somebody who might rock the boat a little bit?
Speaker 2 (24:15):
But it's the other way around.
Speaker 9 (24:16):
It's not an attractive job because of John Stanton, because
I think that we see how much support that John
Stanton gives his general manager. Let's be honest here, Jerry
Depoto has probably done as much as he can with
what's available.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
I think he's done a horrible job offensively. I think
you're right in some ways he has done as much
as he can. Yeah, So I think I think though
that the the the buttons that he's pushed, right, every
single one of them have come up with a giant
turf well on the opposite side.
Speaker 9 (24:45):
So yes, I will say this, with the constraints financially
that he's been given, he's understood that, Okay, we need
to do a Hanniger instead of ti Oscar, plus this
and plus that, and know that Hora Polanco's gonna this
to the payroll, so we can't go add you know,
a Marquee, you know, shortstop, second basement middle infielder, because
(25:07):
we have to kind of work in those constraints. So
he's understood the financial So there's only a select number
of players that he views. I mean, look at Planco's
Minnesota numbers. They're good numbers. If you say that and
you say, okay, that's the price for this kind of player,
that's the maximum I can add. That's the maximum I
can add so he goes and gets what he can
add given the budgets.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
But the problem is it's.
Speaker 9 (25:29):
Not an attractive job because the budget is bleep, bleep, bleep.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
It's not good.
Speaker 9 (25:34):
So thus it's not an attractive job because the support
from ownership is not there.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
Yeah, I just I understand what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
That's why I think right now, with where their prospect
list is and all these young guys under contract, it's
as attractive as it's ever gonna be. I mean, somebody
is gonna come in here and take advantage of Colin Emerson.
Someone's gonna come in here and take advantage of of
Cole Young. Someone's gonna take advantage of Harry Ford. Someone's
gonna take advantage of Montes and Farmelo and Evans and Arroyo.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
And Celliston all these guys.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
So look, I agree with you obviously that you know,
there's only so many teams out there in baseball that
do spend that kind of money, and there's only so
many general managers out there that can fill those jobs.
I just think if you are a hot shot young GM,
or you are an established GM looking to get back
in the game, like a Kim Ang for example, I
(26:25):
don't know. People have thrown her out there. The former
Dodger Marlin general manager. She was the first female executive
in baseball history, or first GM. If there's somebody like that,
you say, wait a minute. If I'm ever going to
take the Mariner job, this is when I'm gonna take sense.
And I look, the payroll is not great, but it's
also not oakland A's either. Yeah, okay, I mean it's
not bottom of the barrel. It should be more. It
(26:47):
should be bigger. And as pissed off as I am
about it, you know why I mostly pissed off. I'm
not mostly pissed off. This is like Princess Bride. I'm
not mostly pissed off about where they are now. I'm
mostly off about their approach the last three years, that
they ignored one of the greatest free agent classes in
baseball history, and then they cut your corners. They've got
(27:08):
to trade this guy to get that guy, get this contract,
to get that contract, blah blah blah. Back look, I
get all that, but I also think if you're a
guy that or a gal that wants to take over
a baseball team, hell, the Mariner job may never be
this attractive again, that's the way to put it.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Never right. I mean, it's insane.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
They've got all these dudes locked up for all these years,
and all these young guys with all these great prospects.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
Eight guys in the top hundred list.
Speaker 3 (27:31):
So my point is this, if there really is somebody
out there that can make a difference, and John Stanton
believes that he's got to fire Jerry to Poto, he
has to because you have to strike now. You have
to let that person come in here now and take
this thing over and try to get more out of this.
Do I think John Stanton is amazing as an owner?
Of course?
Speaker 10 (27:50):
Not.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
Hell, no hashtags sell the team. I'm all for it, man,
I'm leading that charge. I've been leading that charge for
thirty years, ever since I showed up here. Do I
think that they should be better than they are today? Absolutely,
they should be better. I mean again, all Jerry had
to do is go like two for seven with his
offensive acquisitions. Jorge Polaco, Mitch Hanniger, Mitch Garver, Luke Railey,
(28:15):
Randy Hero's Arena, Justin Turner.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
Is that six guys?
Speaker 3 (28:18):
I think that's six, Luis Sirias, that's seven Okay, seven guys,
he was all for seven.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
You go two for seven and you're.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Probably a playoff team right now, all right, that's all
you had to do. When we're having a totally different conversation,
John Stanton needs to find somebody who can build an offense,
and Jerry Depoto, after nine years, has proven he cannot. Look,
it's not personal again. I got no problem with him
as a dude. Other people do, but I don't have
that experience with him. The guy got nine years. Can
(28:48):
never say you were impatient with him. He got every
chance in the book to do this. Good God. Brian
Schmittzer joins us. Maybe he wants to be the next
GM of the Mariners. Coming up on ninety three three
kJ RFM from.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
The R and R Foundation Specialist Broadcast Studio. Now back
to Softie and Dick on your Home for the Huskies
and the Cruking Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr Fmight.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
We're back on a busy Tuesday afternoon. Is it may
or does it feel like it should be.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
Like Thursday already? I wish weird man, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
Weird stuff happens when you get old man, no question
about it. Softie and Dick with Jackson No Dick today,
he is back tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
Yes it's true this man has no Dick.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
But joining us right now on the radio show the
head coach of your Sounders FC for his weekly highly
paid visit here on the show, Brian Schmetzer, how are
you man?
Speaker 7 (29:43):
You just said you lost a couple of days this week.
I mean it's the end of the summer. I mean,
where labor days pass? This softie of the year's flown by.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
I don't know, man, it just seems like yesterday I
was a pimple popping fifteen year old.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
Now I'm a pimple popping fifty one year old.
Speaker 6 (29:57):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
It's very, very weird.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
But hey, what what happened in the one nail loss
to Portland's to start there?
Speaker 2 (30:04):
Talk about that? What was your takeaway from them? Uh?
Speaker 7 (30:08):
Well, I mean, snake bit on a couple of different
plays in the game, But that's pro sports. You know,
you play, you got to make plays. But you know,
it kind of reminded me a little bit of earlier
in the year.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Softy.
Speaker 7 (30:22):
Look, we're a good defensive team. I mean we've got
the fourth best goals against in the league this year.
I think we've given up only like thirty two goals.
We gave up the bad goal. Kind of shot ourselves
in the foot in my opinion. Now Portland might think
was a great goal, but you know, deflection and some
of the defensive mistakes. But then we just couldn't generate
(30:46):
quite enough clear chances to score one freaking goal. So
you know that's coming back to haunt us again.
Speaker 9 (30:54):
Brian Jackson here, and I'm going to give you this take.
It was not even my take, so don't blame me
for it. You're your old player. Kellen Rowe said this
on the postgame show after the Portland loss, and he said,
I wonder if it's time to take Tater de le
Vega and keep him out of the starting lineup and
go back to the crew and the starting lineup that
won a bunch of games there in the late part
(31:16):
of spring, early part of summer. What do you think
about that comment?
Speaker 7 (31:19):
Well, I mean, look, he can have his opinion. Look
he's played the game. I think he has an educated opinion.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
But we got to.
Speaker 7 (31:31):
Get day le Veg in there. I think the kid
has too much quality. I get it. The team that
was winning all those games in the summer. You know, yeah,
we were doing it without Pedro. But even if he
can help jump start one or two more games in
this home stretch, at least.
Speaker 10 (31:50):
We know what we have with him.
Speaker 7 (31:52):
I don't have the expectations that maybe some of the
fans have already that he's gonna immediately, you know, make
us win a supporter shield that quality.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
Yeah, well, I've got that expectation. I think you should
win every game you play with them. Frankly, maybe those
expectations are a little crazy. Brian Schmetsch's with us. Is
there a larger, though kind of offensive issue being shut
out and back to back games or you think that's
just maybe a bad couple weeks.
Speaker 7 (32:18):
Well, softy, I wish I can tell you. You know,
our sport, there's ebbs and flows and confidence, and Jordan
was banging in a bunch of goals, and Albert was
making a bunch of assists, and you know, earlier in
the year was Raoul keeping us afloat. I mean, it
is somewhat cyclical, but look, if I had to do
it again, you know, maybe I would have rotated the
(32:41):
squad just a little bit more for the third game
in a week. I wanted to tip my cap to
the guys that have been winning all those games. But
you know, I started two fresh legs, two fresh guys.
Maybe I needed a third one, maybe a fourth one.
Speaker 10 (32:57):
And you know, we'll learn.
Speaker 7 (32:58):
We've got one more three game week. Can I won't
hesitate to make changes as I see them.
Speaker 9 (33:03):
Well, Brian, it's a big game this week here obviously
in Columbus, and I'm sure we'll talk about it moving forward.
But in terms of your availability available guys, I guess
congratulations to bad Vargas and new being called up for
the international duty to Cameroon in Mexico's U twenty three squad.
But how do you make up for new who and
Obed's absences this coming weekend?
Speaker 7 (33:24):
Oh they've got they've got Look, they've got five guys
missing Columbus does so you know, we'll do the best
we can. And we've got Reed and we've got Jonathan
Bell for that left back position. You know, with Obed,
he's certainly been one of our stars this year. But
Josh wasn't horrible, and Christian can play there, and JP's
going to play again, and Danny Lava had a good
(33:46):
shift coming off the bench. So I think we'll cover
both positions. But look, we knew who was going. That's
a done deal. I mean he's been cameroon starting left
back for a while, but super pleased for Obed to
get a chance here with the Mexican national team. That's
a big step.
Speaker 4 (34:02):
Up for the kid.
Speaker 3 (34:03):
Yeah, let's talk about Columbus facing this week on the road,
defending champs, fresh off the league's Cup title.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
Talk about what's important to you to get that w
on the road.
Speaker 7 (34:13):
Man, They love possession, softy, they wear teams down.
Speaker 10 (34:17):
So the key for.
Speaker 7 (34:19):
Us is going to be able to absorb some of
their chances, us being able to.
Speaker 4 (34:24):
Keep some of the ball.
Speaker 7 (34:26):
We don't want to. You know, they've held teams to
like twenty five thirty percent possession, and we're going to
have to do a better job of us resting with
the ball and putting them under pressure. And then look,
the team sets up pretty good for Jordan and Albert
and some of our guys. I mean, if we get
pushed back a little bit, Jordan loves to open his
legs up and can we catch him in transition?
Speaker 9 (34:47):
Hey, really quick, coach, before you go. Last time you
were on with us, I think We made a few
headlines around the country by your comments on the United
States men's national team job. A few outlets took that
and posted it all around. Made a big stink of
of what you said about the job. Now that we
seemingly have a actual coach in Risio Pochettino, what are
(35:08):
your thoughts on the Federation in the United States getting
what is a just gigantic name in the soccer world
to be the head coach of our country.
Speaker 7 (35:17):
I think it's a bold step, the right step. Yes,
what I'd liked the job, of course I would have.
But you know, it's a great hire. I think he's
gonna automatically have the street cred in that locker room.
Players can't talk back to him. Look, not that Craig
greg didn't, you know, have that in a different way.
(35:38):
But look, the guy's been everywhere.
Speaker 4 (35:40):
He's a winner.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
I love the hire, great, I love it.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
Man, all right, go get him, we'll talk So Hi, buddy,
appreciate this pal.
Speaker 7 (35:46):
All right, take care of selfie. Thanks you soon.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
Brian Schmetzer with us. We're gonna break Darren McKee Altitude
Sports Denver Broncos Sunday. Here we go next on ninety
three to three KJRFM. This Sunday Loomenfield Seahawks Broncos as
a Seahawks attempt to force boonix and do an zho
(36:09):
and four record against Seattle base football teams. He's already
bow and three? Will he be bow and four after Sunday?
Joining us right now on the radio show Altitude Sports
and Denver co host of Columbus.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
Hastings and d MAC. How many freaking host does one show?
Need for CODs?
Speaker 3 (36:27):
Sakes? Darren McKee back with us in Seattle. How are
you my friend.
Speaker 7 (36:33):
To team?
Speaker 10 (36:35):
Yeah, it's probably too much. They probably get rid of me.
Speaker 4 (36:38):
It wouldn't be nothing good deal.
Speaker 10 (36:40):
Probably you're probably right, wouldn't be the first time.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
You know, I love the attitude that you have right
now because you may not be this happy after Sunday's game.
Speaker 10 (36:51):
Oh no, no, no, no, you don't understand, brother. We're
both freed from the Russell Wilson.
Speaker 4 (36:57):
Buns and shame. Oh come on, man, are you kidding me? Hey?
Speaker 2 (37:02):
Wait a minute, Wait a minute. Didn't we tell you
all this?
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Didn't we tell you all this before that this guy
is a weirdo. Blah blah blah. You called us. Uh,
you said we were being ridiculous, We're being stupid. We're
just a bunch of jilted lovers, we're jealous, we're bitter.
Speaker 9 (37:22):
Mister un Limited, and then it goes out and lays
a frigging act.
Speaker 10 (37:27):
Oh my god, he was just as bad, if not worse,
out here.
Speaker 4 (37:30):
And I had the same conversation with.
Speaker 10 (37:32):
Some fine fellows in Pittsburgh, and I'm like, you guys
will thank us later, And I said, Safty told us,
and yeah, and Russ is out. You know, it's that
same stupid show out there in Pittsburgh. And I don't
know if he'll nake. It's a week two to come
here to Denver, like he's got to survive one week.
(37:54):
But that being said, for the Broncos and the Seahawks,
I'm telling you it's a it's a rebuilt year for
the Broncos.
Speaker 4 (38:02):
They did keep this some minds off me.
Speaker 10 (38:04):
They took fifty three out of the eighty five million
dollar hit on Russ this year. They took a bigger
hit on his salary this year. They could have spread
it out more evenly.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
They did it.
Speaker 10 (38:17):
This is a complete rebuilding year. Sean Payton loves Bonicks,
who's had a rough time in the state of Washington.
I understand that. So there's there's not a lot of
pressure on the Broncos. Nobody's nobody's expecting anything out of
these guys.
Speaker 3 (38:32):
Yeah, well, and look, I mean and all serious. Bo
Nicks has only lost one game here. The other one
was in Eugene. The third one was in last Vegas.
So now he's got a shot to go back. Now
he's got a shot to go bow and two in Seattle.
All right, you like that bow and two, So we'll
see what happens. But you know, I mean, what do
you expect out of Bonnicks? Actually like the guy despite
(38:54):
the fact that he's a duck. I loved his demeanor
after the loss to Washington and Seattle. I love that
he sucked it up and played in the Fiesta Bowl
against Liberty, which was kind of a meetingless game. I
like the kid a lot. I don't know what hell
he'll do in the NFL, but I like the person.
What's your take on bow Nick so far?
Speaker 10 (39:14):
Well, it's twenty four years old and he's married. And
if you saw the BMW Championship on TV, that's Castle Pines,
which is a very fu fu shishi area of suburban Denver. Yeah, well,
bo Nix and his wife bought a four million dollar
mansion out there.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
Somewhat close to that golf course.
Speaker 10 (39:32):
The reason I bring that up is this is a
guy who wasn't looking for the night life.
Speaker 4 (39:38):
Trust me, if you.
Speaker 10 (39:39):
Live up in Castle Pines, you're a multi millionaire and
you must love entertaining at your home because there's nothing
else to do up there. So this is not a
guy looking to trip the light fantastic or you know,
set the world on fire with that. He's kind of
like twenty four going on forty. He's the son of
a quarterback, son of a coach. In a very flatter
(40:00):
way to me, he's a quarterback robot. And although Russ
is like a weird robot, he's not a Russ doesn't
process anything. You know that right. Russ does not process
coaches information. Russ, while he was in Seattle, was a
great athlete and just sort of scrambled around and Pete
Carroll win and get away with it for a decade plus,
(40:22):
probably driving him nuts.
Speaker 4 (40:24):
But Sean Payton hated it.
Speaker 10 (40:25):
Sean Peyton is all about the process, all about diagnosing things,
and bow Nicks is extraordinary at that really really good
at his sixty one starts in college safety. Man, a
lot of college quarterbacks would be better off if they
spent a little bit more time getting that kind of experience.
So there's a lot of things that blid.
Speaker 4 (40:47):
Being a rookie.
Speaker 10 (40:49):
Okay, For example, Zak Wilson's on this team and they
kept three quarterbacks, including Zach Wilson.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
Zach Wilson is.
Speaker 10 (40:55):
The same age as bow Knids and has thirty four
NFL starts, and.
Speaker 4 (41:00):
He's like PTSD brother.
Speaker 10 (41:02):
After being out there in New York, he has damaged
freaking goods. This summer was like the rehab of Zach
Wilson and keep the bombs in the closet, you know,
look out. So everything was Zach was way different. Bough
is more mature than that, which sounds nuts, and I
think he's ready for the gig. It'll be It won't
(41:23):
be anything spectacular, but if you need that ball one
two and a half, throw the ball. He's that guy
and his accuracy has been phenomenal. He was like that
all camp, he was like that in preseason, and I'm
not exactly sure why.
Speaker 4 (41:37):
It wouldn't continue. I mean, we'll see on Sunday, but dude,
this is.
Speaker 10 (41:41):
A developmental year for the Broncos. The pressure's on the
Seahawks at anybody.
Speaker 2 (41:46):
No, no question this Sunday. I agree with that for sure.
Speaker 3 (41:49):
Darren McKee with US Altitude Sports in Denver, and I
thought Gerrod Mayo made the right pick by picking Jacoby
Brissette over Drake may in New England because the Patriots
schedule is brutal. I mean, just go look at like
the first month and a half for the Patriots. Man,
it's it's insane. So I think, you know, not throwing
a rookie right to the Wolves is smart.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
Out of him.
Speaker 3 (42:12):
Denver I think has a little bit of a softer
road right Pittsburgh, Tampa Raiders, Chargers, New Orleans. So I
think starting him over Stidham is the right call because
they don't have a murderer's row the way the Patriots do.
Speaker 10 (42:26):
Yeah, I agree, And don't forget while nobody really knows,
is why would you le Broncos actually have a really high.
Speaker 4 (42:32):
Paid offensive line. They do.
Speaker 10 (42:35):
They've got a lot invested in the two tackles in McGlinchey, Well,
you know, mclinchy mcglinchy and bowls. They paid a lot
of money to Quinn Minors, who's their right guard. Ben
Powers got a big free agencyal left guard. They got
a news center that's kind of the news piece of
the puzzle. But there's a lot of money in that.
And Bonick didn't you know, he did not take a
(42:56):
sack in preseason. Didn't take a sack in preseason at all.
And they'll run, they'll run the ball first of all,
they'll try to overpower you. They'll run a lot of
play actions, and then the Bonix can move enough softee, yeah,
third and seven. Oh, he runs enough, but he's not
a running quarterback, so he'll pick up first downs that
(43:19):
we saw with Russell Wilson, Man, I keep going back
to russ But what a disaster. I mean, it was
just I mean, my god, he couldn't see anything. He
couldn't see the middle of the field. He would just
run into sacks left and right or holding calls. I mean,
what a disaster. I mean, I cannot even believe what
that he might be thinking of Pittsburgh. But you know whatever,
and with all of it is like it's all about
(43:40):
playing between the white lines and let me lists off
the fifteen offensive lineman that I've ever played with every
single time. I mean, the guy is such a freaking
phony it's ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (43:51):
And he's not a team leader. He's not a team leader.
He's just a guy that other guys put up with. Softie.
That's who Russell Wilson was.
Speaker 3 (44:00):
Gotta go back, Jackson. I want you to take the
last minute from Darren, and then I want you to
compare it to what we heard from Denver when we
had those guys on the day the trade was made
with the Broncos.
Speaker 2 (44:12):
All Right, we're gonna do that.
Speaker 3 (44:13):
All right, just keep that And because are you talking
about Russell Wilson like last year or are you just
transcribing my show from like five years ago, Because that's
that's exactly the stuff that we said too.
Speaker 2 (44:25):
So we gotta go back and do that. We got
to compare that.
Speaker 3 (44:28):
To what you got, what you people said the day
the deal came down. But Darren McKee from Denver again
is with us on the ear. So you know, Oxer,
what six six and a half point favorites on on Sunday?
Speaker 4 (44:38):
Look, by the way, by the way, you don't know
what your coach is all about. You don't know what
your team's all about.
Speaker 10 (44:44):
You know, you guys, do you guys who those who
this guy is and what you're gonna do?
Speaker 4 (44:49):
You don't know.
Speaker 3 (44:49):
You're exactly right, You're exactly right. I mean, we got
we got a brand new head coach, a brand new
offensive coordinator, we got a brand new coaching staff.
Speaker 2 (44:57):
There's like one guy.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
Back on Carl Scott I think is the guy that
the the one guy that came back from last year.
It's a brand new team too, So all right, fine,
it's a toss up many. I mean, you said it yourself,
the pressures on Seattle, which I agree with. But I
don't know, man, I'd be a little concerned as Cody
Barton really starting at linebacker for you guys this weekend.
Speaker 4 (45:18):
Oh that's so funny. I think he is. We got
some soft spots. That's one of Them's my linebacker.
Speaker 10 (45:24):
A sigh from Patrick utan secondary, especially safety, big question mark.
So I mean, but if you guys had a quarterback,
that'd be an issue.
Speaker 4 (45:35):
But you don't.
Speaker 3 (45:36):
Oh really, okay, you mean the guy that you the
guy that beat you? This guy, Hey, look, Gino Smith
is no Patrick Mahomes. But my god, if we're comparing
it to you guys, the standards not very high.
Speaker 4 (45:49):
I can't I can't believe you guys gave up.
Speaker 10 (45:51):
On Drew Locke. He's my god.
Speaker 2 (45:53):
Yeah, well, I can't believe.
Speaker 3 (45:56):
You gave up on him, too, Pale. You gave up
on him first. You quit on Drew before we quit Andrew.
Speaker 10 (46:02):
How's no off working out? He actually should be pretty good?
Speaker 4 (46:06):
Is he doing all right?
Speaker 3 (46:07):
Yeah? I think I think no offense got a shot
to take a step with With Ryan Grubbs offense, man,
we'll see.
Speaker 9 (46:12):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (46:13):
You know, there's there's so much uncertainty around these guys,
and everyone's excited for you know, Big Mac, Little John,
John Schneider, Mike McDonald, the new head coach, defensive coordinator,
one of the great defensive minds in football. But I'm
trying to paint a picture here about how Denver actually
walks in here and wins this game.
Speaker 2 (46:33):
I mean, where are the threats the whole game?
Speaker 10 (46:36):
The whole game plan is to get the game right
down to the wire and try a sixty four yard
field exactly.
Speaker 4 (46:44):
That's exactly what we're going to try to do.
Speaker 3 (46:46):
Just and you know, what just like Nathaniel Hackett, you'll
miss it and everybody all rip Sean Payton on Monday morning.
Speaker 2 (46:52):
What's that? Hey?
Speaker 3 (46:53):
Wait a minute, what time out? He's the Is he
still Aaron Rodgers coordinator with the Jets?
Speaker 2 (46:58):
Hacket?
Speaker 4 (47:00):
God, he is?
Speaker 10 (47:01):
He's there?
Speaker 4 (47:02):
Yeah. Yeah. By the way, you realize too, the whole thing.
Speaker 10 (47:05):
With Hackett being hired here in Denver was to get
Aaron Rodgers here.
Speaker 4 (47:10):
And again, you know, Russ was sloppy second.
Speaker 10 (47:15):
I hope everybody realizes that.
Speaker 4 (47:17):
And it was the best they could do under the circumstance.
Speaker 10 (47:20):
Russ was never the plan ever, Yeah, I mean he
was the fallback option out of total desperation because the
Denver Broncos picked Bradley Chubb over Josh Allen in twenty
eighteen and then been paying for it ever since.
Speaker 3 (47:33):
Well, there's a couple of familiar names. Luke Wattenberg is
a former Husky. Cody Barton's a former Seahawk obviously, so
a couple of names that we know on that roster.
But I got to ask you, d mac Darren McKee
is with us from Altitude Sports in Denver. It's getting
close to eight thirty, so getting kind of close to
his bedtime, So we'll let you go in a few minutes.
But give me a take on how people in Denver
(47:55):
are reacting to the circus that has Dion Sanders and
up and Boulder, and if they start to lose, how
much longer will they put up with his show if
he's not winning games.
Speaker 10 (48:06):
First of all, you suck at times, though, but look
that up later.
Speaker 3 (48:09):
Second, I'm sorry, is it seven fifteen out there now?
I don't really worry about anything that's happening in the
mountains or the woods.
Speaker 4 (48:19):
Prime is something else. Brother.
Speaker 10 (48:22):
I don't know if he knows how to manage a
game or coach, but he does know how to recruit.
He does know how to draw attention to things. So
there's a lot of really positive things in terms of
attention to the University of Colorado. Enrollments up, diversity minority
enrollment is up, which is really really good. The games
(48:43):
are sold out, which is great. There's so many positive things,
and Boulder is an amazing city if you've ever been here.
Speaker 4 (48:51):
Everything is positive.
Speaker 10 (48:52):
However, there's a lot of us that are very unsure
if he knows what's actually happening to manage a game
and Shadur Sanders all the busy to do last week
and was basically kneil on the ball and they win
the game. Instead, Shauldur's hucking up like fifty yard bonds
(49:13):
so that he could get near five hundred yards and
five hundred touchdowns. Pasco's incomplete and it's like, oh, I
guess we're gonna give North Dakota State the ball back
for no reason, and that if you missed it, that
game ended with a completed hail Mary where the dude
was tackled at the four yard line like they were
(49:33):
four yards away from pulling off a huge upset and boulder.
And we had a lot of games like that. Never
mind the blowouts. You know what Oregon did to them,
what Washington State did to the bus last year was humiliating.
So that's all on Prime's watch too.
Speaker 4 (49:53):
But he's a man. Prime is a big deal. He's
a really really big deal. And at the end of
the day, he's not on any kind of hot seat.
Speaker 10 (50:02):
He can have the job at see you seriously, dude,
because he brings so many other things that are positive
to the university. He's on zero hot seat. I don't
care what his record is. He can have that job
at see you for the rest of his life.
Speaker 3 (50:16):
He's on zero hot seat, right, you really care about
winning down there, I guess then well, hey, listen, I
mean honestly, if he goes three and nine, you're telling
me the seat doesn't get.
Speaker 10 (50:26):
A little warm. Zero hot seat wow zero wow.
Speaker 4 (50:31):
Right, it's a weird eight.
Speaker 2 (50:33):
That's kind of lame, to be honest with you, man, Well,
that's kind of lame.
Speaker 4 (50:37):
Where youth did.
Speaker 10 (50:39):
Welcome to where they did, Bro, They've been a ridiculous
afterthought in the Pac twelve. Yeah, I mean they did
finish last in the pack twelve. Last year's too last
last place?
Speaker 3 (50:52):
Yeah, all right, it's seven seven twenty time for bed
old man.
