Speaker 1 (00:00):
Where go.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Well, have we reached that point, guys, where you'd rather
hear us talking about the Seahawk game on Sunday, the
Husky game on Saturday, over Marida baseball. Jackson's like, please please,
Jackson's nodding his head over there.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
Please let me just say this.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
I am still very entertained by the ranting and raving
on the air regarding Mariner baseball.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
It's very cathartic for me.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
I was listening actually at six am this morning when
Chuck and Buck we're talking about the M's and how
bad they are and how lifeless they are and blah
blah blah. The conversation is now shifting over to Jerry Depoto,
who in case anybody needs to hear this, I mean,
I'd fire him today. I mean, really, like, guys, what
are we doing here? I mean, we're making a move
at the end of the year. And if you're not
making a move at the end of the year, then

(00:44):
you've lost whatever shred of credibility you have left. It's over, Johnny, Okay,
I mean, what the hell are we freaking doing here?

Speaker 1 (00:51):
For God's sakes, John Stanton, It's over, Jenny, it's over.
I mean come on, get them out.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
There's people in your building trying to sell tickets for
next There's people in the building that want to know
there's change on the horizon. Can you imagine working in
that environment right now over there?

Speaker 1 (01:07):
What if you're here at the at a radio station.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
You got a bozo for a PD, a bozo for
a general manager. Nothing's working. iHeart media tells you hearing
about three weeks from now, that guy's gonna get whack well,
whack him now, I mean again. People hitting me up
on Twitter saying what's the difference. What does it mean
if you fire the GM now? And you're exactly right?
And also what's the difference if you keep him on
the job. Either way, he's a lame frickin duck that

(01:31):
has to go. It's done. This team has no guts,
they have no heart, they have no soul, they have
no drive, and every button that Jerry Depoto has pushed
offensively has turned out to be a freaking turd. Get
him out, start over again, start the search, get somebody
else in there. And if that guy wants a new manager,

(01:52):
I'm totally fine with that too.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
I mean, I'm fine with firing him. I just don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
I mean, you're not gonna start your search until for
six weeks anyway, So.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
What's the point in having him stick around? Well, what
if he's out the door, he's.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Gonna run the team. You're gonna keep Justin Hollins having
to run the team.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Does it really matter who runs the team? Honestly, you
got three weeks left to go in the season. You're
gonna bring in somebody else that's gonna run free agency,
run the trade market, go to the Winter meetings in November.
You'll have somebody else in place. Hopefully by the middle
of October, it hopes, if not later than that. I mean,
baseball has these weird rules about when you can hire
people and like make announcements and stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
I think there's something about like you can't.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Don't say anything in the World Series, right, like just
totally archaic. But Dick, just again, for the culture of
that franchise and for the credibility with your fan base,
you're John Stanton. You have to find a podium and
a microphone and you have to start talking and taking
responsibility for what has happened over there.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
You have to own it.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
You have to be a leader because right now this
franchise feels to me like they're devoid of leadership big time.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
I think that's fair.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
But I think John Stanton probably also believes that they're
still in the playoff race.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
And as long as John Stanton.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Well, I'm just telling you, I'm trying to be you know,
if I'm a owner, if I'm the owner of a
baseball team, I'm the last person to jump off the bus.
I am the last person to believe that the season
is over. So, and I know they're a Marina fans
still out there, there are they're dwindling.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
There are very few seasons over. I absolutely thought that
what do you think Sergean doom came from there?

Speaker 2 (03:25):
If you've lost Nick Fane, you've watched the easter Bunny Enstangram.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
But there are people that there.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Have been many people more optimistic about the Mariners this
year than I was. And so, but there are probably
still a few people, and I think John Stan's probably
one of them that think, hey, we're just one eight
and two run in the next ten games away from
being two and a half three games out of at
a first place.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
And I think he's gonna wait until the end of
the season I'm sure he will. I'm sure he will
tell you, and I'm sir.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Stand from a pr standpoint, if if they fire him
now versus firing him in four weeks, you're still gonna
get the same reaction now the fans, Good job, well done,
all right, maybe this is going to start something new.
So I you're either gonna get the applause this Thursday,
or you're gonna get the applause on like October ten.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
I think there's a big difference.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
I think there's a difference doing it now versus doing
what everybody thinks you'll do, which is waiting until the
year is over, which is the easy thing to do, right.
I mean, Tim Ruskill quit the first week in December
because the Seahawks wouldn't give him an extension. They were
gonna fire him, and he left with a month ago.
And that's an organization that knows what the hell they're doing.

(04:30):
So maybe those guys should look across the lake and
get some advice from the Seahawks.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Mike Florio joining us right now each.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Time for a weekly conversation with Pro Football Talks. Mike Florio,
brought to you by Simply Seattle. Tired of buying and
repping the same old Seattle sports gear everyone else has.
For the best Storm Seahawks, Mariners, Kraken, Rainiers, Sounders, and
not to mention, the largest Sonics collection in the world,
check out simply Seattle dot com. Now with Mike Florio,

(04:57):
here's Softy and Dick.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
All right, boy, girls, here we go on the eve
of the NFL opener tomorrow Ravens in Kansas City. Here
the game right here, of course, on ninety three to
three KJRFM with our buddy Kevin Harlan Tomorrow night put
over on NBC Peacock. You can see the face of
this next man, the king of all NFL media, our
friend courtesy of our buddies at simply Seattle dot com.

(05:20):
Michael Florio, Michael, how are you?

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Pale?

Speaker 5 (05:23):
I am fine, Softy, how are you? I had long
version of your softness if I'm Michael, are you softness?

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Well?

Speaker 2 (05:31):
David as my mother likes to call me, But that
usually is when I'm in trouble and I hear that
from my wife as well.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
Softee? Where'd softee come from?

Speaker 2 (05:38):
I used to wait two seventy you didn't know that? No, Yeah,
used to be as big as the Pillsbury Doboy. And
then I went and saw my friends at thirty ten.
Weit lost for life and lost seventy pounds, so a five, yes,
thirty ten. Hey, let's first of all, before we kind
of dive into tomorrow and Friday, what do you make
of this spat with ESPN and Disney Direct TV? Because

(05:59):
there's a game on Monday Night that a lot of
people may not get to see. What's going on with that?

Speaker 5 (06:04):
It reminds me of last year there was a fight
between Disney and Charter Communications. It was ugly. It drove
a lot of traffic because people who rely upon that
service were concerned they weren't going to see the game.
They don't only got it worked out the day of
week one, Monday Night football, and I feel like that's
where this is going too. It's a lot of noise,
it's a lot of bluster, it's a lot of bravado.

(06:26):
At the end of the day, they'll get a deal done.
The landscape is changing and there are issues that go
far beyond how much are you going to pay for
these networks. You've got streaming bungles, you've got direct to
consumer streaming services. The relevance of cable companies and satellite
companies and direct TV is becoming more of a streaming

(06:47):
company than a satellite company. It was like nine million
satellite customers and two million streaming customers at at this point,
and that number is probably going to keep moving from
the nine to the two and get higher and higher.
I think they get it all done, they get it
worked out. There's too many people that are going to
rely on having the ability to watch Monday night football,
and there aren't going to be as many games simulcasts

(07:08):
on ABC this year where folks can just grab the
signal out of the air through you know, the old
fashioned rabbityers on the TV.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Well Mike would finally have.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
Is Jamark Chase sighting at Cincinnati Bengals practice give us
the lowdown on what the contract situation looks like.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
I think that they're hoping they get a deal done
by tomorrow. Last year, it was the Thursday of Week one,
the day the Lions seats the cheap that the Bengals
got a deal done with Joe Burrow. Now, Joe Burrow
didn't really hold in. He had a legitimate injury that
kept him from practicing for much of camp. He did
come back before the deal was done, and the Bengals

(07:47):
did pay him. And one of the things you'll hear
people say about Chase, in contrast with other receivers who
have gotten paid this year, Chase has two years left
on his rookie deal. Well, I don't care, because they
put the k Way Scale in place thirteen years ago
to ensure that draft busts don't take millions out of
the system that they've never earned. What that does is

(08:09):
it screws the players who do earn it, the players
who should have gotten more. And I think it's incumbent
on the teams to reward the guys quickly. The first
round picks who have five year contracts get them paid
after three years, and it's not easy to do when
you're dealing with a team this materior notoriously and historically cheap,
like the Bengals, because even though and we see this

(08:31):
all the time, it's going to cost more eventually when
you sign Jamar Chase, what they'd love to do is
get one more year out of him at four point
eight million and then they'll pay the piper later. But
they got him for his fourth year at four point
eight million, and I think that's why the Bengals are
trying to resist. Don't gladly pay more than whatever it's
going to take now next year, because they will have

(08:52):
gotten this year at less than five million dollars.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Yeah, Mike Floria with us again here on the radio
station courtesy is simply Seattle debut tomorrow for twenty twenty
four Ravens Kansas City Packers Eagles on Friday from Brazil,
and Mike, I want to ask you about that because
apparently Twitter has been banned in Brazil, and some people
were telling the NFL, hey, if they're going to ban Twitter,
we should pull the game out right. I know that's

(09:16):
Elon's idea, but does the NFL have any official response
to Twitter not being available for reporters to tweet their
thoughts from the press box on Friday.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
I asked the NFL about it when I saw it
on Friday, and I never heard basm them. And usually
what happens is I'll ask the second time and they'll
ignore me, and then the third time they'll finally respond.
I don't need any real issues here. I've heard plenty
of people say, oh, maybe they should not play the
game there. Look, at this point, everyone is on their
way to Brazil and or heading to Brazil. They're playing

(09:47):
that game there, and you're just not going to get
your real time observations on x or Twitter from reporters
there or anyone else who's in position to take video
still from etc. So you got to watch the game
on TV or on Peacock. It's on Peacock streaming, and
it's going to be on TV in the market where

(10:08):
the teams are from. And that's it. You're not going
to have that supplement that you otherwise would have during
a game. And I don't know how big of a
deal it is. It's definitely not a big enough deal
to get the game to not be played in Brazil.
Remember a few years ago they pulled a game out
of Mexico because the field was a disaster. That's the
kind of thing that would get a game pulled out

(10:28):
of an international site.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
Well, Mike, we narrowly avoided tragedy on the streets of
San Francisco this past weekend with Ricky Pearsall. He is
out of the hospital. Great news, he is recovering. What's
the updated situation on the first round draft pick for
the Niners.

Speaker 5 (10:43):
It really is amazing that he lived through that encounter.
Seventeen year old boy charged with murder. He was due
to be a raging today he still could be tried
as an adult. Pearsall is going to miss four games,
and the way that John Lynch, the gym of the
forty nine ers, talked about it yesterday, it was as
clean as it could be. Bullet went through the chest,

(11:04):
out the back, no structural damage, no surgery required, and
at this point no reason to believe he's going to
miss his entire rookie season. So look, it takes a
hell of a lot of courage to take on somebody
who's pointing a gun at you. Some would say the
easier thing to do is just give the person what

(11:24):
they want and move on and hope that they don't
shoot you after they get what they want. Sometimes they
still shoot you after they get what they want. But
Piersall decided to take matters into his own hands, and
he really got lucky at the end of the day.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Mike the Pro Football Hall of Fame, I think it
was last week two weeks ago, announced that it's going
to be a one year waiting period now for coaches
to enter Canton, Ohio, and a lot of us are
frustrated up here.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
We've talked to you about this before.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Mike Holmgren has been waiting and waiting and waiting while
lesser accomplished coaches, in my opinion, make the Hall of Fame.
And is this bad news for Mike now that the
the Hall of Fame has changed it to a one
year weight.

Speaker 5 (12:03):
That's one of the reasons why I frankly get frustrated
with the Hall of Fame to the point where I
don't even care what they do. The rules change all
the time, the categories shift all the time. They refuse
to change rules they should change, like we won't consider
off field behavior because they still do. The human beings

(12:26):
who vote on it still do. And they'll hold guys
out for stupid reasons. The idea that they would do this,
it's like every other rule change they make. Let's just
have a set of rules, a consistent set of rules.
It applies to everyone all the time, and let's move forward.
You know, I hate to be cynical. At the end
of the day, it's a business, it's a museum. They

(12:49):
want to have sensitivity to get people to come to
Canton for one weekend out of the year. They want
Camp to be the epicenter of the NFL for that weekend,
and the whole thing I just think is fruscating. And
if I was my Homebern, I'd be frustrated. If I'm
anybody that's trying to get in there and these rules
keep shifting and changing, it would drive me crazy and
I'd eventually get to the point where I'd say, I

(13:10):
don't care what you do.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
A few tenuous quarterback situations in the NFL, that is
for sure, one being in Pittsburgh, another being in New
England Mike. How patient is Mike Tomlin going to be
with Russell Wilson before he potentially goes to Justin Fields.
Same question in New England with Jacobe Brissett, because you've
got the rookie waiting in the wings.

Speaker 5 (13:29):
For Jacoby were set in the Patriots. It's not a
matter of patience with him. It's a matter of getting
comfortable with Drake may I'm not a big believer in
using the third overall pick in the draft on a
guy that isn't ready to play. I think their concern
is the offensive line is going to get him injured.
Or ruined mentally because they're not going to give him
the protection that he needs. When they think he's ready

(13:51):
to go, they'll put him out there. And you're right.
It doesn't get any easier for the Patriots to the
season unfold. But the Steelers, the schedule plays out perfectly
for Russell Wilson to play the first eight games. Their
bye week comes in Week nine. Then they can decide
what's to do down the back half of the season,
which really is murderers rope. The Steelers. They got their

(14:12):
six division rivals and the Eagles and the Chiefs the
final eight games of the season. I think that's right,
the Chiefs, not the Eagles, whatever it is. The last
seven games are deadly. It's the division teams plus the
Chiefs down the stretch. Yep, They've got three AFT West
teams the first six weeks. Russell Wilson knows those teams
better than Justin Fields, especially the Broncos, and they've got

(14:36):
three prime time games in their final four to start
the first half of the season. Will know if they're
three and five or works, will know that it's time
to go to Justin Fields. And if they're four and four,
are better you right it out with Russell Wilson. I
think Mike Tomin believes he can get Russell Wilson back
to what he was in Seattle because they've got the formula.
It's no longer about let Russ cook. That's why he

(14:56):
wanted out. He wanted to go to a team where
he was going to beat josh Allen Mahomes, where the
offense ran through him and he got to do a
lot of different things. No, it's better for him if
it's good defense, good running game, and he's surgical, he's strategic.
He uses that deep ball at the right time and
that's how you make a difference and that's how you win.
And I think Russell Wilson can still do it. It

(15:17):
remains we seen how much of his nobility he still has.
He's gonna be thirty six in November. Yeah, but he
can still, I think, throw it at a high level.
And the Steelers are going to be a better shot
for him to succeed than Denver was the last two years.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Yeah, you're right.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Last four games for Pittsburgh Eagles, Ravens, Kansas City, Cincinnati
just amazing.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
All right, Mike, Before you go, the opener tomorrow was right.

Speaker 5 (15:37):
I didn't think they had to eat they got. They
got eight games though, that are deadly because they play
all their division rivals starting Week eleven. And Steelers fans
have complain about that. I said, don't don't complain about it.
You don't want those teams early. You want to get
them later when your team is better than it's going
to be right out of the game.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Yeah, preseason predictions. Are you gonna tell us to turn
on NBC tomorrow? Check PFT, go to the website? Can
you give us any preview of what you're Oh, by
the way, you know what I do have to ask
you about before that. People are up at arms your
power rankings. You got the Seahawks in twenty Seahawks for
twenty two. You don't know what you're talking about, says Seahawks.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
Who cares that. Everybody's got to start somewhere. Somebody's got
to be thirty two, somebody's got to be thirty one,
somebody's got to be thirty allthough we have to number one,
you play your way higher on the list. That's how
it goes. It's like the old you know, when we
used to care about the AP and the coach's poll,
and there wasn't this broader star chamber that figured out
who was going to be in the playoffs. You are

(16:36):
where you are, and you win, you move higher, and
if you keep winning, you keep moving higher. So it's
up to the teams involved to change their position or
justify and prove that they are where they belong.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
All right, do the Chiefs repeat yes or no?

Speaker 5 (16:48):
Yes? Yes? Well, I mean if I got to pick somebody,
I'm picking the chief There's ever been a team that's
won three Super Bowls in a row. They're in the
best position I think of any team to do it.
You know, the Dolphins look like they were maybe ready
to do it in nineteen seventy four. The Raiders beat
them in the Sea of Hands game in Oakland. And
you know, the Patriots got to the Divisional round against

(17:08):
Denver when they were in position to win three in
a row. I just feel like this Chiefs team, you know,
they've never been dominant. Yeah, They've always been like Indiana Jones,
slot under the door and reach back and grab your
hat before the stone comes down. Even last year they
got embarrassed at home by the Raiders on Christmas Day,
and it at least crossed my mind. Are they going
to just blow this and not make it to the playoffs?

(17:29):
They were the three seed? Who envisions to the Chiefs
is the three seed? They screwed up their rings. They
thought they were the two seed and beat the seven
seed Dolphins in the wildcard round. No, they were the
three seed and beat the Dolphins in the wildcard round,
went on the road and won two playoff games against
the Bills and the Ravens. And this is just a
team that I think they appreciate this moment in history.
They understand what they can do. They've already done the

(17:50):
harder part winning the first two. And if Patrick Mahomes
gets to three in a row, I think we're going
to suddenly feel very differently about his in comparison or
his four excuse me to comparison to Tom Brady seven,
because you do something that's never been done. In the
afterglow of that, folks are going to be like, hmm,

(18:11):
you know, maybe maybe this guy is the greatest of
all time.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Michael, you're the man.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Cannot imagine starting the NFL season without hearing from you.
Have fun tomorrow and we'll talk on a week Buddy,
Appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
Pal Deep Pal.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
All right, Mike Florio with us. We're gonna break big.
Thanks to our friends at simply Seattle dot com. Petros
at four, Larry Stone of five. Is Jerry Depoto on
the way out? And if so, how soon coming up
at five pm courtesy of the ram Baby Right here
on ninety three to three KJRFM.

Speaker 6 (18:41):
Live from the R and R Foundation Specialist Broadcast Studio.
Now back to Softie and Dick on your home for
the Huskies and the Craken Sports Radio ninety three point
three KJR FM.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
I got Factor fiction bracted by the Amra Quincasino. It's Wednesday,
It's Dick Day. Normally Wednesday is a Monday. But because
we started on Tuesday and not Monday, likely everything's all
messed up. So Jackson will go tomorrow. I will make
a pick on Friday Show tomorrow. We got the NFL
football preseason season debut Ravens, Kansas City. At five, we

(19:18):
got Packers Eagles from Brazil. Or if you're a member
of the press corps you want to tweet about the
game Friday night.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
By the way, it's South Paulo. Is that correct?

Speaker 2 (19:27):
You cannot tweet about the game from the stadium on Friday.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
You know why that is if you're covering.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
The Eagles and Packers on Friday, any idea, Dick, Well,
you can't.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
Tweet about the game because there's no service.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Kind of Jackson is banned in Brazil twitters in Brazil
by the Brazilian government.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
To what Elon Musk says, move the game, Move it
out of there. Now, let me ask you this and
this way. I brought this up with Florio. You remember
a couple of years ago when you actually watched Thursday
Night Football on Twitter? Remember that they had the rights. Yeah,
the game was on Twitter. If the NFL still had
that partnership with Twitter, would they move the game if

(20:07):
the Brazilian government said, it's probably too late now because
the thing just came down like a week ago.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
We talked about that with Florio in the last segment.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
You can still watch it here though, so it doesn't really
impact You can watch million people Twitter.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
I'm saying, if you're an NFL media partner and your
Twitter and you're carrying their games and the country that
you're hosting a game in is not allowing your platform
to exist, you might kind of throw a fit. So
I guess my poorn is Thank God the NFL Thursday
Night packages on Amazon and off Twitter. All Right, Factor
Fiction brought to you by the Emeral Queen Casino. Right now,

(20:39):
what's that to go?

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Glad you with us?

Speaker 7 (20:41):
It's your shot at our weekly thousand bucks and the
ten thousand dollars grand prize. It's fact or Fiction brought
to you by the Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital
of the Northwest. Make the beautiful new WEEQUC sportsbook your
home all football season long. Factor is on Sports Radio

(21:02):
ninety three point three kjr FM.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
All Right, I took Oregon minus the points against Boise
State this weekend. See the way I figure things, Dick,
I think Oregon either bounces back with a win and
they cover, or they struggle and the fans freak out
down there.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
And you and I are very very happy.

Speaker 8 (21:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Way, either way, we're all winners.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Well, Boise State gave up like fifty points to Georgia
Southern over the weekend, by the way, so we'll see.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
All right, here we go.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
The inaugural pick from Dick Fane twenty twenty four season
goes too well.

Speaker 3 (21:31):
I'm gonna start with the team that I'm fading in
this matchup. First, I'm fading a team that I think
might finish in the last place in their division, and
they're favored, So that's why I'm fading. I'm fading a
coach that is get this, twenty four and forty six
in his NFL head coaching career. See if you can
figure out who This is one of only four coaches
since realignment to have seventy or fewer games coach and

(21:55):
is already twenty two games under five hundred or worse.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
His name? Can I give you the name or you
want to keep going?

Speaker 5 (22:00):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Keep going? Okay?

Speaker 3 (22:03):
As a favorite, this head coach in his first month
of each season is eight sixteen and one as a
favorite wow in his NFL coaching career, and his quarterback
is the second worst starting quarterback against the spread over
the last ten seasons.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Who am I fading?

Speaker 8 (22:21):
Dave?

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Is his name Dennis Allen.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
His name is Dennis Allen, and his quarterback is named
Derek Carr. I am taking as bad as it sounds,
the Carolina Panthers to go into New Orleans and to
give him a hell of a game. People have been
talking about how bad Carolina was for a year. People
are optimistic about him this offseason. I don't think Carolina's

(22:43):
gonna be great, right, but I don't think New Orleans
is gonna be great.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
Either.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
Give me a low scoring, ugly dog of a two
or three point game, and I'll take the four and
a half point dog in the Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
I thought you would have just taken the under in
that game. What's the total? Off the top of your head,
you know what it is?

Speaker 1 (22:57):
Really?

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Yeah, it's gonna be like in the high thirties, if
if anything, so, Dick likes Carolina minus the four and
a half?

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Is that correct? Plus Carolina plus freen points? Man?

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Thank you Carolina plus the four and a half factor.
Fiction brought to you by the Emeral Queen Casino.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
You like it?

Speaker 2 (23:12):
You think Dick is a genius. You text in fact
to four nine four five one forty one and a half.
You're right, it's pretty good to Yeah, you hate it?
You think Dick has no idea what the hell he's
talking about. He's a puts, he's a more and he's
a clown. You text in fiction to four nine four
five one.

Speaker 5 (23:27):
Why what what?

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Courtesy of the Emerald Queen Casino, you got twelve minutes
to get your pick in Carolina plus the points against
the Saints. Every day seven thirty five, eleven thirty five,
two thirty five, and three thirty five.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
We give you a game, and if you.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
Get one measly one stupid selection right a week, you're
in the hopper for one thousand bucks.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
Courtesy of The Emerald.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Queen most picks right by the end of the year
wins ten thousand dollars courtesy of The Emerald.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
Queen Casino, Jackson, you like it. I like it, and sorry,
forty one and a half is the total in that game. Yeah,
I go way after that. By the way, I think
you found I pick for them. Maybe so, maybe so, dude.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Yeah, you know that is assuming that other shows listen
to this show, and you don't think they do.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
We're like the nine time defending you know, actually last year,
we remember what happened that phone he's taking. We're the
Kansas City Chiefs of Factor Fiction. Jackson.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
By the way, I mentioned Derek Carr is the second
worst against the spread in the last decade. Who's the
worst quarterback against the spread in the last decade.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
He's no longer playing. He's retired.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
He's retired, very good quarterback, terrible against the spread.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
I call him borderline hall not Hall of Famer, but
Philip Rivers.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
That ILK. That's a great guess, but it's not. But
definitely that era of that ILK. Maddie Ice is the
worst quarterback in the last decade against the spread.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
That poor bastard man.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
If he can just hang on to a twenty five point,
how much different is God instead of being in love
with Philip Rivers And it really wasn't even his fault.
His defense just folded like a house of cards.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
Shanahan. I mean, dude, there else that Shanahan.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
That might be the most painful loss in like the
history of the NFL. Do you think, yes, absolutely, yes,
you're up twenty five, you're on the phone, you're planning
the parade.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
Twenty two minutes more painful than our loss because we
thought we were gonna win only for like thirty seconds.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Twenty thought they were gonna win forever.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Hey, for us, it took that miracle catch by Jermaine
to even get there.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
That's right. They're on the phone, you know, planning a parade.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
They're ordering shirts, they're online, they're getting their credit card ready.
I mean, good god, it was done. They're calling their dads.
We won and then you lost. All right, we're gonna
break fun with audio coming Petros at four Petros is
mad at kirk KERB Street.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
You'll find out why.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
At four o'clock today, right here on ninety three three KJRFM.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
It's now time for Softy and Digg's fun with audio.

Speaker 8 (25:48):
Jimmy Gawn Star, Jimmy mister garoppolo.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
Now let's have some fun with audio goes here we
go the segment.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Everybody including my mother, Dick Vane's father, Jackson's brother have
a brother brother, don't sister? Your sister half sister, half
sister that works has been waiting for fun with audio slash.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Hey did you hear that? Hey, Dick, did you happy
to hear that? Eleven seconds? Not good enough? What's that?

Speaker 6 (26:28):
Dick?

Speaker 1 (26:29):
God? I thought I had more in me.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Gino Smith joining Good Morning Football today and before the interview,
how annoying was that?

Speaker 1 (26:35):
By the way, before the interview ended.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
The NFL Networks Kyle Brandt had to ask about a
star wide receiver DK Metcalf.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
Well, last thing, how's our guy? DK? Is he still living?

Speaker 5 (26:45):
Off gummy worms of strawberry milk and stuff.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
What are we doing with milk?

Speaker 8 (26:50):
I think I think he's uh, he's kind of you know,
tying his diet up a little bit. But Dk has
had a phenomenal off season. I think he's gonna be
the best receiver in football. I think he's got all
the right stuff, man. And you know, obviously it's my
job and our job to help him get there. But
all the work that he's put in, uh, just what
we've seen throughout camp, just in the preseason.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
That one drive.

Speaker 8 (27:12):
He's got it all, man. I think he's going to
be the best in the world.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
Jackson shaking his head already. Come on, player talk, QB speak,
But can we be realistic about it? Please?

Speaker 8 (27:22):
You know me?

Speaker 1 (27:23):
The best wide receiver in football?

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Come on, just knocking on Geno Smith before the year
even begins. Is it totally out of as down as
I've been on Dk?

Speaker 3 (27:35):
Is it totally out of the realm of possibility that
DK Metcalf could be the number one receiver in football? No?

Speaker 1 (27:42):
No, it's not no meal.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
DK Metcalf talent wise is a top six seven wide
receiver in football.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
He just hasn't put up those numbers. I think like
specimen wise he's one top five in the NFL. Yeah
him and wise he's number one positions. But he doesn't
have I don't think he has the wide receiver talent
that is Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson and those guys.
Let's let's get the guy the ball. See what happens.
Question is will he get the ball? We're gonna hear

(28:13):
from DK Metcalf later on today, and i'd addicted you
haven't hear that. What's that Dick CBS Mornings Today, I
say that right, host and former Seahawk wide receiver Nate Burleson,
who by the way, is just like just flown past
all of us in his career. Fifteen years ago. He's
sitting here on a cell phone and TJ. Houschmann's is

(28:35):
ripping HU mail and and you know what, and now
he's like a big time uh. He's making more money
now doing this than when he played. By the way,
Nate Burleson sent a message to NFL fans who have
a problem with the coverage of Taylor Swift. For all
you guys that are in your phillis, take several seat
the naked Nate Cam Nate Camp.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
Get out of your feelings, oh.

Speaker 5 (28:55):
Said you widow mad because t Will Swift is in
the problem, cares Nate.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Wipe the drool off your tank top and flip some
pants on. You got your mama's basement, preach Nate. Whoa,
I can stay with the Big de deliois all right.

Speaker 8 (29:10):
Every other sporgashow celebrities at their games.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
We show Taylor's over album.

Speaker 8 (29:13):
Getting your feels and get out of your feelings.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
Man, watch the game. Why is Nate angry about something
that happened eight months ago? There may have been something
else that bros brought up. I don't know. I mean
that has been a non story since like two days
after the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
Well, I don't know. I mean, did he get an
email from somebody? The game is on tomorrow. They're gonna
show Taylor Swift a ton on TV. That's why why
it came up, Because the Chiefs are about to play tomorrow.
So he's just he's he's sensing that people will be
mad at how many times NBC Peacock showed the face
of Taylor Swift.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
I don't care.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
I mean I kind of like her, so it doesn't
bother me any But I I just whether it's somebody
I like or somebody I don't like. And there's not
a lot of people I don't like. But if there
were somebody I didn't like and they kept showing up
on TV, I wouldn't sit here and say don't cut
them off here.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
I just whatever.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
I just don't think it's the novelty that it was
when it was a new romance. Right when it's a
new romance, it was like, oh, but they've been together
now for like a year, so.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
It's not that big a deal.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
There's a lot of people that have come over to
watch these games because are her that's right, They've proven that.
And there's a lot of young folks, a lot of females,
a lot of the audience is growing. Roger Goodell loves this.
That Taylor Swift is Dayton Travis kelcey Man.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
So I don't know. Whatever you don't like, you don't
like it, fine by me. I don't care. He dick,
did you happen here?

Speaker 3 (30:33):
A lot?

Speaker 1 (30:34):
What's that? Dick?

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Three?

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Or four?

Speaker 1 (30:35):
Pick one? Let's do leave me both. Let's do four four. First.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
The Mariners may be bad right now, but they are
nowhere near the White Sox, bad Dick. During yesterday's nine
nothing lost to Baltimore, two Chicago players colliding on a
pop up and shallow left field and allowed three runs
to score. On the air, Baltimore broadcaster Kevin Brown summing
up things perfectly.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
You could challenge over the white part of that played
a little bit more. Let your stuff just play. If
you don't, you better figure out. Oh no, oh, my goodness,
the white Socks have just gone full white socks.

Speaker 6 (31:06):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
Did I hear by the way that they are five
and forty five in their last fifty games.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
That's correct, That is insane.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
By the way, I want to ask Larry, you remind
me how many teams in baseball have gone from ten
games up to under five hundred to finish the year
on their division.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
I would bet there's a chance it's never happened, Dick.
Do do we still have the second worst race record
in baseball the last fifty games?

Speaker 3 (31:30):
And I know we did after like thirty games we
had after thirty games after the All Star break, we
were second to Chicago with the worst record.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
I know we still are.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
I know the A's have a better record than we
do in the last fifty game question, and it's like
nine or ten games.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
You know, the Rangers are probably gonna pass us. We'll
gotta break.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
Petros will join us next on ninety three three KJRFM
