probably a contract extension for Ron Francis, but we shall see. PAC twelve
(00:29):
early season kickoff times should be announcedlater this afternoon. We'll pass on when
that comes out. Sounders taken onSan Jose tonight, seven thirty three three
KJR FM. Federal judges dismissed NickRolovich's lawsuit against Pat Chun and j Ensley
case against Wazoos still pending. Notsure why because the judge says there's no
facts of sports claim he was terminatedbecause of his religious abuse. There's a
(00:53):
hell of a thing to piss yourcareer away. She making three something,
yeah, something like that, threemillion at least right maybe just under that?
What else do we got today?Have you seen this story? I
bet you, Brad saw him,so let's bring him on. Brad.
(01:15):
Adam joins us for his weekly conversation, always brought to you by John Howie
Steak. Here looking for a goodplace to go entertain a client, loved
one family member in town John HoweSteak and John Howie Steak dot com.
It provides a great steak and agreat atmosphere. Brad joints on the Beacon
Plumbing Hotline. When you were downin Peoria, Brad, did you ever
(01:37):
watch that Padres prospect, that EthanSolace kid? I did not, But
are you aware of him? Yeah? He's what now? Sixteen? Is
that what I read? Do youknow this story? Jim? He's a
he's playing class A now. He'sa six sixteen year old international free agent.
That was sixteen? Yeah, andhe is. He is up at
(02:00):
single a Elsinora. And he madehis debut last night and in his day
he signed first of all, hissigning bonus was a record for that year
five point six million dollars. Ishow good they think he is? He
made his day, He made hisdebut last night. He's a catcher.
(02:21):
I don't know if he's a switchhitting catcher. He hits from the left
side, though I don't know ifhe hits from the right side as well.
In his debut as a dozen Davidhitter, he doubled, he singled,
and had a walk. Sixteen andhe's sixteen. They think he'll make
his debut something he keeps. Certainlyby twenty something nineteen be the fastest since
Bud Rodriguez made his debut. Andyou watch highlights of him. I was
(02:43):
watching MLB Central this morning. Imean it's it's how big is he?
He's a big dude. He's startall over. Yeah, that's good.
Can we get him the way toget him? We'll get him in a
few years. Yeah, just kidnaphim right fun and in our natural rivalry.
Yes, will be there next week. I'm ex Oh, that's a
(03:06):
great trip. By the way, that's the Is that the No, that's
yeah, that's next week. Thatwill be a That's a hell of a
time to be down there San Diegoand June. That's not bad. It's
a good timing. Well, Junegloom but should be okay. Then we
go to Anaheim. But I finallygot on Tory Pines first time ever.
I'm excited. I'm playing Monday, the off day. Good for you,
guys. Know, I'm very excited. I know you've played a puck.
(03:27):
You're gonna laugh at the driving range. Not good, No, that's what's
gonna be hilarious. You're gonna golike, this is the driving range where
the pros, that's where they hitit. That's where they hit it.
I will say this is not aknock on this course because it's a nice
driving range. Jackson Public Golf Courseoff one hundred and forty, I'm not
(03:50):
exaggerating, has a better driving rangethan Tory Pines. Wow. Yeah,
okay, you'll get a chuckle outof it when you see him, and
then you also get a chuckle outof it when you pay, because you
have to pay twice. You haveto pay the City of San Diego one
fee and then you've got to paythe county another fee. You think there
(04:14):
are you getting comp this this round? Who's complement? No, No,
we've tried that. There's no compno deals because the city owned, Like
you said, there's nothing, Soit's um. The rate I think we
were quoted was like two fifty, which I think is a pretty decent rate.
For now. I don't know ifthat's their peak season. But you
know, I don't like to spendtwo fifteen a round of golf, but
for there never done it, Idefinitely would. Who are you gonna play?
(04:38):
Who are you gonna play with?Right now? I've got a buddy
who got got us a tea timebeing a San Diego resident, which helped
quite a bit. And uh,scheduled, but you never know with these
guys scheduled as Brash and George Kirby, who are we going to interview him
at the same time? Maybe dolike a little walk and talk thing?
I enjoy those. I like agood little walk and talk. Yeah,
(05:01):
yeah, how do you like those? Two? No, No, it's
just gonna be, you know, off day, No cameras. Just play
a little goal. Okay, whatkind of game are we playing? Are
we playing a little Nassau game? What are we doing here? I don't
know Because Brash, I don't know. I think he hits it really far,
like shocker, but he's a littlewild. I'm not sure how he
scores. But I know Kirby's aplayer. He had When they were in
(05:23):
um San Francisco last month, theyhad an off day and a like twelve
of them drove down to Pebble Beachand he shot like seventy eight. So
I'm like, I don't know ifI want to put any money up at
George just gets get some strokes, man, there you go. Yeah,
I'll just pull the old man cardand just get some strokes. Yeah,
(05:44):
you can more than hold your own, though, Brad. We've seen your
swing and we've seen you play.Don't sell yourself stored perfectly good and then
thank you, I appreciate small smellsum and then the Anaheim guys I'm playing.
Of course, my buddy is amember of the of course that we
played a lot before called a RoyalTribuca, which just happens to be the
(06:05):
course of Michael Block buddy. Ohyeah, I got himself. Yeah,
so glad we're over that storyline ofthat. And I wanted I'm gonna pat
myself on the back for being thefirst one to call him out. I
just knew it right away, knewit right away, just knew it.
Yeah, I was getting excited tomeet him, but now I'm like,
(06:28):
just a douche bag, absolutely dJust enjoy your fifteen minutes and just be
quiet. Oh I know Michael Jordan'son the phone. Oh what a story.
Oh look at that shut. Ohif I was Rory, I'd be
the best player in the world,in the world. Yeah, yeah,
(06:49):
I know. I'm so glad hefinished dead last. I'm so glad,
so glad he was in the toilet. God. Yeah, yeah, that'll
be a good, good trip.I'm excited. Okay. I think it's
funny how you're going to keep thatto yourself and then you just decided.
He brought it up. He broughtit up, TREVORMI and what, Michael,
(07:13):
what a rate? I mean, only one hundred and twenty five an
hour, It's one hundred and fifty, Trevor only What a deal for those
members? What a deal? Books? Yeah? Oh, Trevor, Trevor
Ryde. I'm not even taking newclients right out, Trevor. Yeah,
I can't. I can't, Trevor, not even you, not even you.
(07:33):
Got um. But they're booked out. Man, it's hard to get
on that course right now. They'restill riding the way. So can you
can you fix the young starters please? Yeah? Kirby tonight, Yeah yeah,
we'll fix him, no problem, man, his first turn. This
will be a fun night for him, right, you know, grew up
in New York and Rye outside ofthe city about forty five minutes never faced
(07:56):
the Yankees really excited about this start. Um, this will be cool.
And I think he's gonna you know, we're not going to see the seven
runs, four home run last startGeorge Kirby. You know, I think
that he'll be highly motivated, notjust to do better, but certainly pitch
against his home state team. Soyou know, I think we're all spoiled,
right, I mean, these guyshave been so good for the first
(08:16):
you know, fifty games. Wecan't expect them to put up quality starts
every outing, although that's what theywere doing. So, you know,
Yankees are hot. They scored tenruns the last three games, and they
got on Miller and they got onGilbert last night. You know, just
just a bad little stretch and youhope Kirby turns it around the night.
(08:37):
All right, scale of one toten year concern level for the Mariners ten
being like a highly concerned boy.Not I don't know four. I mean
I'm not four. Yeah, I'mnot worried about Goldie. Goldie said twelve
when we had him on twelve forwhat like four and a half games out
(08:58):
of the way. He kind ofkeeps it a little bit more real how
he feels about the team. Ohdoes he being a team employee, does
he do that? I bet hedoes really like it? Right they're hey,
they're four and a half out.I mean, they're I think they're
(09:18):
just fine. You know, theoffense has been better. You know,
we talked about them just being neededto be average, and last time I
checked the stats, they're like twelfthor thirteenth and hitting which which will get
it done? You know, averagea four and a half a game.
With the pitching, it should begood, you know. Obviously hasn't shown
up the last two games. ButI think overall, I think I think
(09:39):
they're in a good spot. Youknow, you look around the West,
and I still I know the Rangersare off to the best start in their
history, best record in history forfifty one on games. But I just
I'm still not sold on them.Angels fading, you know, the Blue
Jays are fading a little bit,so that wildcard is right there for them
to take. So not worries though. Yeah, I'll go back down to
a too. I like that too, right now, mind's higher than that
(10:05):
It shouldn't just be wildcard this year, shouldn't it. I mean, this
should be a year in which theMariners are looking to you know, capture
the Al West. Yeah, no, you're right, And that was kind
of the goal going in. You'reright, Um, Texas again out of
their heads in first place. Houstonright there. Houston is going to be
there all year, all next year, all a couple of years. You
know, it's just the way they'rebuilt, and you know it's the goal
(10:28):
just post you know, obviously postseason. Yes, but you're right. I
mean it was to finally catch theAstros and pass them. Um. So
you know, a chance obviously todo that. There's you know, one
hundred one hundred games left. Wedon't know how it's all going to play
out. Obviously, moon Yalls iscoming back, that's going to really help
back into their bulls end. DylanMoore is going to be ready to go
(10:50):
fairly soon here. Um, getthem health, to get everybody that that
that they want, um, andthen just you know, start rolling.
Miller has been been a great additionto this rotation. Um. He gave
them you know, five best startsin the history of baseball. So um,
they're fine, you know, Marco'spitching grade. I again, no
(11:11):
concerns right now, but there willbe a point, I guess when it
gets concerned time. And I'm justsure they've dominated the A's. Everyone's dominated
the A's and and so that's nota other except for the Braves. But
you know they've got they've got arecord of six and eleven right now.
And again it's it's just seventeen games, and these are all just one series
(11:35):
that they've played. But you know, they've got a losing record against everyone
that's above them right now in theplayoffs minus minus Houston. And so I
think the pessimistic fan would say,Okay, well, it's great that they're
beating up on Oakland in Detroit wherethey won the series in Colorado, but
when they have to face playoff caliberteams that they're not delivering right now,
(11:56):
and then I think the one thingthat's a little bit concerned is, as
Brad Day, the last two yearswere so good in these one run close
games, and I don't know whatif there's this, you know, a
measure or a statistic that tells you, well, why is this team better
in one run games? Or none? Is there a little bit of luck
that's involved in those one run games. I think we had all acknowledged that
(12:18):
there is the ball bounces your waysometimes, but you make your own luck.
You've got a good bullpen and allthat. So the last couple of
years they were really on the kindof the razors edge of things, and
it just hasn't gone their way.Is that a cause a concern though moving
forward for them? Especially Jim broughtthis up earlier. I mean, their
schedule is going to get a lottougher here in the next couple of months.
(12:39):
Yeah, Jude doesn't look great inJuly. Good points. I would
say to that, yes, thatthat would be a concern going forward,
for sure. You know a lotof these teams that they've lost series two,
it's been pretty close, you know, the ones I think of that
Texas one here where Texas won twoout of three and they scored first two
games, they scored two runs andthey split and they won the ask gam
(13:00):
like four to three against Castillo. So I think the games have been low
scoring, they've been close, Yeah, they have. The series hasn't gone
their way. But to your guys'point, that would be a concern for
me, if they cannot win closegames, one and two run games.
They need to dominate. They havethe last two years, as you said,
puck and that's how they're set up, that's how they play. They
(13:20):
use the bullpen a lot, theycan extend games. They should be great
in extra inning games. You know, they added a little bit offense,
they thought in this offseason with Fernandezand Wong. It's worked out a little
bit, but they're hoping to getthe offense a little bit better so they
can win these games. You know, they're kind of regressing to the mean,
(13:41):
right, They were so good theyled the majors in one run wins
the last two years. You figuredit was gonna turn, and it has
turned so far. But yeah, that's the one thing to look at.
And I would say if they cannotwin these games, because they're gonna play
a ton of them, which theway they pitch and where their offense has
just been okay, if they can'twin like they have been and come on
top of these, it's gonna beit's gonna be a long year going forward,
(14:03):
for sure. Hey, Brad Puckettwas mentioning the other day about having
Taoska Hernandez as your everyday DH andmoving kell Nick over to right field and
then kind of mixing and matching Iguess with with Pollock, maybe when Moore
gets back, Haggarty and whoever elseout there in left field. Uh what
what kind of solution would you haveif Scott's service were to ask you,
Brad Adam what what he should doat that spot? Yeah, at the
(14:28):
dah spot? Yeah? I wouldyou know, Hernandez has been he's been
fine in right field. Um,he hasn't heard you defensively, and Keller
nick Nik has been really good whereverhe's been in the outfield. UM.
I don't know if you could couldmix together a Trammel, Pollock, Haggarty
more combo and left field. Imean I guess you could. Um.
(14:50):
I still think that maybe moving forward, you know, and I think we
saw a guy in Pittsburgh and wewere kind of talking about it when they
were in town this weekend with CarlosSantana. Do they go get him again?
Right? Do they add get geta DH at the deadline? Somebody
like a Santana who was so goodand Julio calls his dad. You know,
that would make a lot of sense. But if they were not going
(15:11):
to add anyone. I think Iwould still leave Hernandez out there and right
sealed. I just think that defensively, he's better than what you're gonna get
I think from Tamel or Moore, and offensively you just kind of piece it
together like they have Ben. Iknow, it's no idea when you have
Haggard to be the DH like itwas last night. That's why I think
that there's a chance that they cango and get somebody. You get a
(15:35):
bat. I don't know if youneed a position guy right now, really,
but to get a bat like aSantana get him again. We saw
what he did last year the deadlinemoves, so I mean, that would
make a lot of sense to me. But I think that they do need
to upgrade that. But I don'tknow if they need to add a specific
like position player right now. Allright, we'll enjoy and see if they
can get a win here this evening. We appreciate, enjoy your your road
(16:00):
trip down there and San Diego.Enjoy a Tory Pines so you'll have a
blast. I will hit him straight. I'm gonna take a picture of the
range for you. Yeah, you'regonna you're gonna be like, really the
black stripes, Like I want tosay yes, but I can't remember,
Like like you're just you're gonna you'regonna go there and you're gonna be like
(16:25):
I can't because you've seen the drivingrange on TV. You've seen it,
and you're just gonna be amazed oflike, this is it. Okay,
this is this is it? Yeah, but the rest of the property is
amazing. Yeah, and we gotthe south course too, so I'm excited.
Oh yeah, we'll have fun.Yeah, we'll do. We'll catch
you with you next week. Thereis a Bradda and Root Sports ill brought
(16:45):
to you by John Howie Steak theworld's best Steak PAC twelve News PAC twelve
schedule. Some of it's a leakingout right now, and I will guarantee
of Washington fans are not gonna behappy about this one. Boise's there opener
against Boise State will kick off thisone, and you'll be happy. This
is the Dick Baird game, twelvethirty on ABC. God, that's just
(17:11):
that's when football was played on Saturday'stwelve thirty. Their Week two game against
Tulsum will be two pm on thePAC twelve network, the game that's gonna
get everybody angry. We just talkedabout it. Thought this would be the
big noon kickoff against Michigan State becausethere really is nothing else that weekend of
any significance that they would choose, but they did not select it. The
(17:37):
game at Michigan State will kick offat two o'clock. It will stream exclusively
on Peacock. So eleven AMR time, no two two PMR time. So
you've got to if you don't havePeacock, you will not be able to
watch him. And I don't knowwith cable because I don't. I don't
(18:00):
have it. I mean, Idon't have cable anymore, so I don't.
Do you get Peacock with cable,I believe? So you get the
streaming service with it. Yeah, there's some poker Face show that I watch
on that. Okay, so youalready if you've got comcasts, you get
Peacock. Yeah, okay, WellI'm saying that, like I know,
we own it, Jim. Ibelieve. Yeah, I believe. It's
(18:21):
not that tough okay to get it, So maybe it's not that big of
a deal. But if you stream, maybe like I do, like I
don't know. I've got I don'tknow if I can stream it. I
mean, I have to pay forwhat I would think to watch it.
Yeah, well, I think Huskyfans will still be able to watch that
game, and it won't be he'llbe able to watch it, But I
do think it is I don't know, a little more difficult, probably,
(18:41):
But if I'm ask fan, I'mprobably happy to hear that the game isn't
going to be at nine am ourtime, because I'd be worried about the
kids not being ready that early inthe morning. Twelve o'clock there, no,
I know, but it's just likewith the Seahawks when they had ten
o'clock kickoffs that there it's a biggeraudience. It's twelve o'clock, big noon
like it's a I don't know,I don't know why anyone would be upset
(19:02):
about that. That's that's like thebest audience you could You're gonna have a
bigger audience than the big newon kickoffon Fox than you are on Peacock.
Yeah. I personally wouldn't care aboutthat, but but maybe there's a lot
of people who don't want, especiallya season in which the huskis are looking
for a national championship that might matter. That's week three. So what else?
(19:22):
I mean, I'm just curious whatthey don't what else they have chosen,
um over Ohio State or somebody's probablywell somebody big, well big ten.
Week three, Right, that's thegame week three? Well maybe it's
Wisconsin at Washington State. No,that's week two. And we got I'll
tell you what, we got moreof a primetime game than they did.
What's the Wisconsin kickoff? Thirty thirtyon ABC? Wow? See. And
(19:48):
there's always this big debate here andagain this isn't when I hear people mock
like the market, it's pullman andall that. You have to realize and
the pullman it's not the them inTV market and it's not Spokane. Washington
State falls into the Seattle television market. And I hope most intelligent people understand
that, so when they do theTV evaluation, they don't look at Wazoo
(20:12):
and go oh, it's Spokane andLewiston Greater Coal facts the biggest ratings,
and they had they had a game, a couple of games last year.
The Cluing Wisconsin was a huge ratingbecause of the alumni lives over here.
So they got the four thirty kickoffweek two on ABC. Did you get
(20:33):
Colorado State? Uh? Colorado Statewill kick off four o'clock on CBS Sports.
That's the revenge game for Millan, the Northern Colorado game, which is
the week three, two o'clock onthe Pack twelve. Colorado the Buffaloes the
week before they did it to themagain. The week before Thanksgiving will be
(20:55):
a seventh thirty kickoff night game againsta Time so the Big Ten that week.
Other games that could have Georgia,Southern Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Rudgars,
Western Kentucky, Ohio State, Minnesota, North Carolina, Northern Illinois,
Nebraska, Bowling, Green Michigan,Virginia, Maryland, Western Michigan, Iowa,
Syracuse, Purdue Louisville, Indiana,Penn State, Illinois, Northwestern,
(21:18):
Duke, probably Ohio State, Minnesota, Minnesota has been fairly good lately.
They're not playing Minnesota. Oh they'renot Ohio State, Western Kentucky. Okay.
Now, I heard Wilder yesterday withDick and Soft and he said they
could use a Big twelve game aswell for that for week three. So
the Big Twelve schedule would be BYUat Arkansas Pittsburgh at West Virginia. That's
(21:41):
what it's gonna be. Yeah, that's the that's the backyard brawl O.
Right, Yeah, that's what it'sgonna It's gonna be Pittsburgh West Virginia.
That's why they didn't get it.I would have guessed because the other ones
are Long. Long Island University hasa football team. They're playing Baylor,
Miami, Ohios, Cincinnati, TCU, Houston. You know, there's no
(22:02):
other relevant game other than the PittsburghWest Virginia, which I assume that's going
to be the game on Big NeonKickoff. Don't you think if you're a
national college football fan, though yousee Washington Michigan State, that would be
more appealing than the backyard borow mepersonally, Yeah, I'll be based on
the whole big the Pack ten inBig Ten rivalry, Yeah I do.
I mean Michigan State isn't like thatpremier team in the Big Ten. No,
(22:26):
but Washington's supposed to have a Gangbustershere. Yeah, that to me
would be a bigger game. Thatshould have been the Big Neon Kickoff.
But if you're just joining us,so Washington game Michigan State exclusively on Peacock
two pm. So people have cable. Got to say, I don't know
if you I assume you just getpeacocks streaming with Comcast. You don't have
to pay any extra. If you'rejust a chord cutter, i't know what
(22:47):
that means for you. But we'llgive you the latest as the schedules in
the PAC twelve will leak out. They're all supposed to leak out today at
least the early season once coming upnext. Voicemails all right, voicemails here
momentarily again, if you're just joiningsome of the pactwelve schedule being released,
(23:08):
how Husky fans, you'll open upthe twenty twenty three campaign against Boise State
twelve thirty on ABC Tulsa, thenext week at Home Pack twelve Network A
two pm, and then at MichiganState two o'clock exclusively on Peacock. It
will scream on Peacock. There wassome talk about the Big New kickoff that
(23:29):
being the game. There really noother Big ten games that week. Somebody
did Texan that they think that they'vechosen already what it was. I assumed
it would be the Big twelve gamePittsburgh and West Virginia. But someone said
perhaps they've already announced it, andit was see the big ten, Penn
State and Illinois. Okay, Idon't know. Penn State, Illinois over
(23:52):
Washington, Michigan State. And thenPeacock is free now, but based on
the on Exfinity's website that I'm lookingat, starting June twenty six, so
coming up shortly, Peacock will nolonger be included at no extra costs with
Exfinity services at that time. You'llget a free sample of Peacock programming and
(24:15):
then but you're gonna have to payfor the rest. I would assume when
it comes to the sports programming, you're gonna have to pay. At you
what that cost is, I'm notquite sure. There you go. That's
the very latest. The Peacock's freesample program will feature a selection of shows
and movies on demand, as wellas the collection of channels. You can
(24:36):
also sample the first episode of newPeacock original series and new NBC series.
So, okay, what will happenon when I open the Peacock Apple my
Exfinity X one or Flex TV bonds, You'll see messaging with the Peacock app
on X one Peacock Premium no longerincluded, no extra costs out in the
Yeah, you'll need a new passwordprobably, and then try and remember that
(24:57):
password, and you know the wholething will be a pin in the ass.
Well, you get frustrated, andthis is all if you're just like
me, it's but no, it'sa lot of people, and this is
where sports is coming. It isreally driving up even if you haven't cut
the if you have cut the kidthe cord and have it. Even for
those who us who have have cutthe cord, it is driving the prices
(25:19):
up. I mean I I neverdid it. I did a little bit
for costs, more convenience. Ijust don't like all the I have a
lot of TVs. I don't likeall the boxes. And I know you
can do the stick. It's notthe same thing. The interface is not
the same thing when you go onthe stick. It's I just don't like
(25:41):
all the cords. And really,if you wanted more at that time when
we cut it, when you wantedmultiple boxes, that's where the price gets
it. With common why the cordsbother you so much? I just it's
all the hand chords, because Ilook at all the cards and I'm going
I don't care. I got threeTVs over there. What really bothered me
with comcasts, why I got ridof it was the inability and I think
they've changed it now. The inabilityto watch programming when I wasn't at home.
(26:04):
It was highly annoying, and theydid it forever with with Root,
and I know they offer it now. I think with Root right on the
on the app. I believe onthe app you can now watch the Mariners
on the Expedity app. But beforeyou trying to be a good co host,
but when it comes to this kindof stuff, I just have no
answer. I think now on yourphone, if you have the Expendity app,
you can watch the marriage but forthe longest time you couldn't if and
(26:26):
I just I was like, well, I'm not at my home and I'd
like to watch the team. I'mpaying you two hundred dollars a month and
you're preventing me from watching the game. I said, It's just important to
me to watch anything on the phoneon my phone. Look at this.
I mean, but if you're onvacation or your laptop, I mean,
I watch my laptop. I meanjust I mean, even if I have
a bet on it. I'm notthat I'm you know, probably because I
(26:48):
just don't want to figure out allthe bells and whistles and hoops and everything
I need to go. If you'redoing great, yeah, thank you,
you're Let's get to voicemails who dothem every day. You can always leave
as a voicemail on the i HeeartRadio app. Download that app today,

He was being nice. I mean, we all have bad days.
He was being nice. He feltlike I did the best job given.
I think you did a great job. You can't make them be entertaining,
No, but the questions can help. And it might have been, you
(27:56):
know it just I will. Ijust have this love for dogs, and
I felt like people would want tolet more about got it? You know
the hockey dog mascot. Shout outto my girl Angel, by the way,
I hope maybe she's listening. Angel. You know Angel has met her
oh the chili partabus bartender. Yeah, she ripped me five seconds after you're
getting an or she lost her puppy, Oh she did. She lost her
(28:19):
dog. So shout out if you'reAngel. But it ever gets back to
you thinking about you. God,just the worst man, just the absolute
worst day ever. Yeah, soyeah, I agreed, Sorry Angel to
hear about that. Z y xwuvut s r qp l k j I
(28:40):
h g f d c BA.Come on, it's really not hard.
Well I'm an idiot, so itis. But you're also looking at something.
I know what you're doing. You'relooking at it. I can't.
I'm just I've never had to takeone of those tests, and I never
want to try. But I picturemyself, I mean pressure distress involved like
(29:02):
can you touch? How about justsober? Can you touch your nose with
your head back? And no,yeah you can? There you go.
I'm skilled. I practice. Isaw someone getting that on the way home
from Memorial Day right past, rightpast Rosalind bowled over on the side getting
the test. Buddy, Come on, man, what do you think it's
(29:26):
gonna happen a memorial You can't tipthem back a Memorial Day for driving.
All Well, good morning, gentlemen. It's been a while since I've checked
in. Continued to enjoy the showimmensely, especially the scintillating topics such as
sandwich combinations, jam, jelly, peanut butter, puck. I respect your
(29:48):
opinion on food, from soft serveto peeb and ja. How about peanut
butter and honey? Love it myfavorite? At a last night? Did
you well, yeah, just whereI scooped the peanut butter and I drizzle
the honey on top of the spoonand eat it. Yeah, okay,
but you didn't you have the littledifferent But yes, you didn't have the
bread. I don't have the bread. No, I watching my figure and
(30:12):
how many how many tablespoonfuls? Didyou have? One? No? I'm
gonna say three, but probably morethan that. God, what's the matter
with us? Anyway? Like Iwas ten minutes from home, you know,
driving from the Mexican place in Ordering, and was this afters in the
(30:36):
big margarita? Right, yeah, mcflury sounds good right about now? Yeah,
give me the M and m's andthen can I pay extra for carmel?
Oh God yes? And then shejust loaded it up to it was
like spilling out the side is great, it is blizzards. You're a lot
better. But mcflurry's in a pinch, but it's a close. Like I
don't think I agree, And Mand M's aren't really good in a mcflurry
(30:59):
because it, yeah, there toocold, they're too hard. But I
don't think the drop off is dramatic. No, but you agree with that,
But you don't get enough variety atMcDonald's because you can only get Oreo
or Eminem's. Agreed. Hey guys, GQ. Jerry here with a quick
update on the Mariners season. AJPollock started in left field because Jared Kilnick,
being twenty three years old and ingreat shape, our analytics and metrics
(31:22):
said, let's go with Aj Pollockfor no apparent reasons. Also, we
had Tom Murphy yelle as many profanitylace words as he could at the umpire,
so that way we could blame theresult of the game on those strike
calls and not our terrible, awfuldecision to go with a platoon. Dahs.
I'll be shoving more crap as theseason goes. Thanks Guy. I
like the way he finishes his sentences, all right, last one maka shana
(31:49):
Guy, wock up with that.Wednesday, I'm thinking about Davy Jones and
the thing about Davy Jones, youknow, if not like he has tentacles,
I mean, he's a dog.I'm like, oh my god.
You know, he could be abit insidious behavior, you know, a
little bit oftentatious. But you know, I think it's kind of blasphemous to
think he's god, you know, sitting on my couch and can't. I'm
(32:10):
just hoping the dog's okaya. Oh, Davy Jones comes back. Cool.
Michael Seawan never disappoints. Tweet today dextri and strike and strike and strike
and strike until you have the drink. All right, George tweets after day
(32:32):
scour Twitter. You can always sendus something. Jason buck at twenty at
Coobs. Go see kids. That'sright, I see kid two zero six,
Top of the morning. Y'all.Never misses a day, you know?
Come on, man, never missesa day battling a cold? Are
we where we got allergies? Whatdo we got over there? Saturday?
I felt a little tickle on thethroat. Yeah, God dang it.
And then yeah Sunday, darn it. I said, God dang it.
(32:54):
Glt Okay, all right, soyeah, getting over it. And now
you can tell kind of nasally.Yeah, if you were Jackson, you
would have called in sick. Okay. See, this is why I didn't
say anything, because I knew someof them. We're gonna move along ahead
and give us to the day.Jackson would have come in with a full
hazmat suit on, don't touch anything. Check out his Twitter page though,
(33:22):
by the way, he's got areally cool video. And I didn't know
you could do this. And I'mgonna go down them and gonna take the
old dam down. He and hiswife spending out a vacation around ocean shores,
driving on the beach. Wait asecond, so he was sick when
I don't know he was. Hewas gone for this past weekend and then
he's going on vacation. I seehe was just on viking. Oh,
(33:42):
I don't think you should allow vehicleson the beach. What I just don't
every time I see that down agear heard or apparently long beach, because
that's nature, man, that's sandI know, sand. I just I
don't think it's cool when I seea car on a beach? Is that
okay? And who we talk ofit too? Is I like letting my
(34:07):
dogs run because I'm a bad dogrun and you got somebody doing thirty miles
an hour down on the shoreline. It's like, do you really need to
be driving down here? Can youpack in your sight? Now? Listen
to me. I do find thegreat irony in Washington beaches where you are
allowed to drive your motor vehicle ona beach, but my god, we
(34:27):
are not allowed to have dogs offleash on a beach. I do find
the irony and that like, okay, but seriously, do you need a
car on a beach? I thinkit was kind of cool, kid.
What do you think? I don'tthink he was trying to hit dogs.
I agree with you, Jim.Let's protect nature. Keep the cars off
nature. On the beach. Yes, there is what crabs They're not on
(34:49):
there. They're jellyfish. How doyou know? Have you done the research?
There's no crabs in there. Howdo you like the crabs the size
of a quarter? That? Arethey not crabs? They're not. I
always hope you will get stuck downthere when they bring their cars out there,
like, oh gee, we missed, Joss. Hey, honey,
the tide came in. Surprised.I didn't know there were tides. Now
that's Darwinism, that's Benning the herd, and that's a good thing. I'm
(35:13):
surprised that you were. You're soanti I am. I won't gear there's
a gear heart down there. Ilove the golf course. I love the
golf course. When I see carsdown there, I'm like, no,
not cool. Okay, all right, we've been overruling. We're told to
pound sand Jim hey on the phone, four or five one. I like
it, But hey, you guysdon't. That's fine. But I'm see
(35:36):
I don't. I worry about takingUh, you know Goldie the supervan down
there, and she make it stuck. How about just about the visual of
it. You go down there thinking, man, it's gonna be nice to
see the waves and the sunset. And then you got all these cars out
in front of you. I don'tthink they're drag racing like s I r
if you're sixteen or eighteen, yesyou are. Okay, Well maybe they
are doing donuts. Oh you knowwhat, Jack's it was just showing pictures
(36:00):
of hit my cars down there thatparked out there to have a picnic and
like have a bonfire. Yeah, nah, okay, Jesus from ball thing
this guy to a party. No, it's I'm fun of the party.
I don't need my car there toyou know, have a beer and a
barbecue. Damn, I'm funny.I'm gonna follow up on a story that
(36:27):
we did yesterday, and uh,I want to know if if other people
reach out to him, I'll giveyou. I'll give the Twitter handle,
excuse him, I'll give you thee man. I have been obsessed with
this since we did it yesterday, but obsessed and kind of in a heartbreaking
way. I'm so I am veryas a as a parent and as a
coach. I'm very heartbroken over thisyoung man that we profiled yesterday. We
(36:52):
told you about yesterday in that statechampionship game in New York. The catcher
who ended up dropping the ball andthen not throwing the first we talked,
and then all the runs come aroundto score and they lose the game.
That's how they lost the game.So there's more detail. I was reading
a local report about it. Hebelieves that he tagged him. Oh okay.
(37:15):
So that looks like in the videothat it's possible that that's why he
didn't throw down because he feels thathe tagged him, and then he turned
around to see if the umpire hadsaid it or you know, it signaled
that he was out, and hedidn't. And then he looked down the
first base and he didn't. Andthen I think he according to the story,
he thinks that he may have missedit, missed them saying he was
(37:37):
out. Oh okay, and sohe's like, oh, I'm not need
to throw down there. What ifI throw it away? Whatever? Yeah?
Did the reporter that wrote that storyasked the kid like it was a
called strike three, which means theball should have been pretty catchable for even
a high school catcher. What happenedon that play? Well, so I'm
trying to do something positive about it, and now you've turned it into let's
(38:00):
blame the kid. But yeah, you know, most high school catchers would
have caught that ball, Joey. But anyways, Jake, you can send
him a hate email if you want, because I'm sure he's not received any
of those. Jacob Ponicello is hisname, And so I sent an email
to his a D at the school, Oh, did you to just let
(38:22):
Jake know that nothing like that shoulddefine your life at that age or moving
forward? And I would assume heis pretty in the ad responded that he's
pretty distraught about it, and hiscoach even acknowledged in the story that,
hey, he's gonna think about thistwenty years. But it's my life.
(38:43):
It's my job and everyone's job tojust let him know that nothing like that
should define RUF. And that's whatI said to him, said, hey,
can you pass this along day?And that I just know you're really
making me feel bad? Yeah,is that your intent? There's a kid
was also not my intent? School? Right, the report should have caught
the ball. Back to the tapefrom yesterday when I was more concerned and
(39:05):
carrying, I'm wondering how that kidwas and so I just say Hey,
him, heads up, let himknow how to define his life. Obviously
he's hurting right now. But youknow, I just aday sports gonna prepare
for the stuff like this for life, because life's not easy and there's gonna
be ups and downs in life, and this might be a great teaching tool
for him and that and that adversityin sports usually prepares you for other things
(39:27):
and how you handle and that willdefine how does he pull himself out of
say just you need to pass outalong because there's really know the way to
kind of contact him. The nameof the ad is John A. Cardamont,
and he just said, hey, thanks for reaching out. We're blessed
of a great coaching staff. Isworld's great senior leadership. He's Jake is
handling himself with respect and is tryingto not let the negative comments get to
(39:47):
him. That's right, cooled andcatch the ball. Yeah, I shouldn't
have made light of that once.Like I said earlier today, there's sometimes
when I say stuff that like topull it back into my mouth. But
but if you guys would like tosend an email to this a D because
I think he would just forward iton. Listen. They're trying to protect
(40:08):
him and not have everyone like startreaching out to him because if all the
positive ones there's gonna be negative. His name is John Cardamone. You can
send him an email and just youknow, give Jacob pat on the back
some words of inspiration. It's Johndot Cardamone c A R D A M
(40:34):
O n E at Hornell CSD dotorg. That's h O r n E
l l CSD dot org. Thatis the a D for Hornell High School.
A chance you could ask him ifhe'd come on the show with us,
not not the kike, not thekid, but the ad reach out.
(40:55):
Um, yeah, and so allright, I just because you'd asked
a question yester, what would yousay to him? And I don't hear
his dad, I don't know.I don't know. I don't think i'd
say anything. I just give hima big hug and try to tell him
that hey, it's it's it's gonnahurt for a long time, but don't
let it define him. Yeah.I would probably emphasize the hey, you
(41:19):
thought you tagged him, you thoughtthe game was over. That's understandable.
Plus we would have never been inthis position of winning a stage championship if
it were not for what you've doneone, but that's true. They wouldn't
have even been in the game forit weren't for him at the plate.
He was like their best offensive player. Yeah. So, yeah, it's
life's tough. Social media is hard, people are mean, and uh,
(41:42):
you think he's gotten a lot ofthat as a high school kid. I
bet he's got a thought high schoolkid. That's what the ad said.
He yeah, but by the way, I wouldn't have asked that question.
I know you wouldn't. Um,so'll reach out to him. I'll give
it one more I know it's abig I don't really want to post his
email like on social media, butum I'll just give it to you one
(42:02):
more time. And if you wantto send out a message to him,
you can also just look it up. He's athletic director at Hornell City School
District if you want. Might beeasier than me just rattling off the email
one more time. But it's it'sJohn j O j O h N dot
