Live from the R and R FoundationSpecialist Broadcast Studio. Now back to Sofie
and Dick on your Home for theHuskies and the Kraken Sports Radio ninety three
point three kJ R FM. Honestly, we need answers from pro We need
answers of why one is and whyone isn't. It makes completely no sense,
and I just want consistency. Ijust want consistency from you guys.

(00:25):
God. Wow, Jackson Feltz justlosing his mind on the post game show
over the weekend. Why is onelike this and one is not like the
other? Why has one this andone is that? I don't know.
Jackson Feltz was not happy after thatshow. Man real. We want to
make sure that Brian Schmetzer knows thekind of passion that his studio host is

(00:46):
bringing to the table every every weekon this network. Brian, how are
you pell? I? God,I love that. I love Jackson's passion.
I mean, I you know,look, I don't make a I
don't make a big deal out ofcomplaining about referees calls. I think some
of that stuff we can't control. But that guy really screwed up, right.

(01:07):
I love that. Well, andlet's talk about that, go back
and chat about the game because you'releading one nothing in the ninetieth a penalty
on a handball by knew Who,which you could argue, okay, fine,
right, call, I accept it, whatever, But the same play
what ten minutes earlier on Jordan Morris'sheader was not called. So give us

(01:29):
your thoughts on the on the inconsistencythere that we saw, well, the
exact same plan. Look, CraigWible does a good job. He calls
the league and you know, wetalked to the league about whether we could
you know, rescind one of knewWho's yellow cars and we did all that
protocol. But the bigger question,Soffie, is just why didn't the var

(01:53):
guy recommend a review of the handballon the Vancouver player Because when you see
the replay, he clearly had hishand outside of the frame of his body.
It was a chicken wing and it, you know, potentially blocked Jordan's
header going on goal. So inconsistencies. Look, VR is not perfect.

(02:15):
I think there's some good points toit, but they missed on that one.
What could new who have done differently? Because when I saw that replay,
I was like, he's he's gothis arms in. I mean,
what was he supposed to chop hisarms off? Good question, you know
what he You know, what hecould have done is not give up the

(02:36):
foul that he gave up, youknow, thirty seconds earlier. That's that's
the play. He's the best oneD one defender in our league, and
you know he he commits a sillyfoul that leads to that free kick.
But look, I can't fault knewwhose effort to try and block the shot,
Dick. In answer to your question, you know, the hands have
to be within the body or whatever, you know, whatever the rules say.

(02:59):
But look, when you're flying andyour instinct is to you know,
help your you know, your yourarms out to help you break your fall
because you're sliding in Sometimes your armsis a natural position, but they're outside
of the frame of your body.So it is kind of a you know,
judgment pall. But you know,at the end of the day,

(03:20):
I look, knew who's probably wasa handball. I can't argue that,
but they they messed up on theother one. Well, I don't want
to see you get in trouble orsee you get fined here. Although you
make a lot of money. Youcan afford it, no problem. But
there seems to my untrained eye tobe a massive consistency issue around the league

(03:43):
that any other show in the country, they're having the same conversations we are.
Do you see that that there isa deeper issue with consistency in officiating
in your league? Right now?We would, we would love to have
consistency. But see, I'm tellingyou, look, referees, it's not
an easy job. I mean, players yell at him, coaches are yelling

(04:05):
at him, they feel pressure infull stadiums. I think they genuinely try
and do their best. Would Ilove to have some consistency? Yes?
Absolutely. Are some guys better thanothers? Softy for sure? I mean
other guys. You know, someguys have more experience, less experience.
They have to feel the game inthose moments. And you know, I

(04:29):
referee are games sometimes when in trainingand I can stand on the sideline and
kind of figure out, well, this guy intended to do this or maybe
that look different. So you know, I would hope to have a little
more consistency, for sure. Sois it the ninetieth minute that caused the
draw? Or is it not beingable to put that second goal in sometime
that caused the draw. Well that'sthe Achilles heel of the season, Dick,

(04:54):
And look at the fair question.I mean, I got to answer
it. It's not an easy questionbecause know we've been talking about it pretty
much all season and actually back intoparts of last season. So yes,
that is the achilles heel. Weneeded to do better. Now, what
I would say is we had controlof the game and you know, one

(05:15):
nothing, we get three points.Everybody's gonna forget about, you know,
some of the doldrums that we experiencedafter the game. But for sure,
Dick, that's that's a fair question. We need to do better and we
need to put games away at homeEarlier. We got a couple minutes left,
your coach, and the Open Cupgame tomorrow against Phoenix. I'll be
honest with you, I have noidea who Phoenix even is. Uh And

(05:35):
then Saint Louis in Saint Louis onSaturday. Talk about your week coming up.
It's a it's a tough week.Phoenix was last year's USL one Championship,
that's the league they play in USLChampionship. They were the champs of
that particular league. Good team.Uh, they got some solid players.

(05:57):
Look, soccer in this country isgrowing leaps and bounds. It's not just
MLS, but the league's underneath us. So they're a good team. And
then look, we got to goto Saint Louis, tough place to play.
We won there last year to nothingour first trip back there. We're
going to try and replicate that. But a couple of tough games coming up.
How did Pedro de la Vega lookin his time out there? And

(06:19):
can he play a full ninety rightnow? Is he fit enough? Yeah,
Dick, he's still on a timelimit. He looked okay, I
mean look, he looked okay,I'm saying that. But then he had
a flick header on a cornerkick thatyou hit the crossbar, and they had
that shot from a real tough angleto hit the post. So he was
close. But he's on a timelimit and he's going to gradually ease his

(06:44):
way in just from a safety perspective. He won't start against Saint Louis,
but for sure I'm going to buildhis minute. How about Josh Attensio tomorrow
or Saturday? And then Nathan hisavailability as well. Yeah, Nathan know
Josh is probably RSL at home jingjurylist. Saffie is getting a little better,
but it's still you know, we'remissing some key pieces. I love

(07:06):
it all right, man, listen, if you ever want someone to be
your mouthpiece to rip the referees,we got you cover right, all right,
don't get fined, don't get thewife mad at you. We got
you covered, all right, pal, promise you all right, you got
it. I'll all right, man, best of luck this week. We'll
talk soon, coach. Okay, take care. Brian Schmetzer with us on

(07:26):
the radio show. Good stuff fromhim. We're gonna break
