Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now back to the Washington State Beat Commissions Football Friday
with Sothian Dick on your home for the NFL Sports
Radio ninety three point three kjr FL.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
All right, before we get to our next guest here,
what do you say we take a trip down memory lane?
You guys cool with this. We're going back to two
thousand and five. November of two thousand and five, Giants
Seahawks at what was then Century Link Field.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
Bully Margaret Down, start offense number seventy seven.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
Both started offense number seventy seven.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
I'll start in the offense number seventeen. Game started offense
number sixty six.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
We'll start on the offense number forty one.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Pull leave themselves in the footnumber football thirty eight.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Against the Giants, start offense number seventy seven.
Speaker 5 (00:47):
We'll start offense number sixty six. Giant discuss turn offense
number sixty six, summer ball, start tart offense number seventy seven.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
And the play is blowed in.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
It's the Giant.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
Start offense number seventy seven.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
You know, if you have had a finger for every
false start that day for the Giants, you'd be an
eleven fingered freak of a man, eleven false starts, including
five by Luke Pettigue, remember him the tackle? He had
five false starts. And I think I'm not sure if
this guy was there or not. Maybe he was at
the Giants game.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Well, is at the Giant game?
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Our buddy Pauli di Tito from wf AN, How are you.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
Paul good to coge again, softield All. I'm not sure
if I should answer your question so quickly, I might
get called for a false start.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Yeah, you know that's one right there. That's that's one
for you. But were you at that game, by the way,
in two thousand and five?
Speaker 4 (01:38):
No, No, I was not at that game. I I
the first Seattle Giants game game that I attended out
there was at the Kingdome back in ninety five. Dave
Brown that a furious fourth quarter comeback for the Giants,
and then Brad Deluiso missed like a fifty three yard
field goal on the game's final play, and that had
(01:59):
that had shortly after I believe Griffy and Edgar Martinez
had stunned the Yankees in the playoffs. So my feelings
about that building in particular are obviously not very good.
Although I understand the people in Seattle didn't like that
building too much either.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Yes, that's true.
Speaker 5 (02:17):
That's true, Paul. I mean, the big story going into
this game is who's not playing for the Giants. It
was kind of similar to the Seahawks defense on Monday
Night Football against the Lions. So it looks like eighty
three percent of your touchdowns fifty seven percent of the
total offense with the Giants are out. So who has
to step up?
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Yeah, well it's going to be Jalen Hyatt in place
of Elik Neighbors. Hyatt, you know, the third round draft
pick out of Tennessee last year. During the first month
of this season, he's kind of been buried on the
depth chart because he's the Giant's fourth best receiver and
they haven't used a lot of four wide packages, so
their top three guys are Neighbors, Darius Slayton, the veteran
(02:57):
and been very reliable for Daniel Jones over the years,
averaging over fifteen yards of catch in his career, and
then Wandel Robinson, who over the last couple of years
when he hasn't been hurt, has been one of the
more productive slot receivers in the NFC. And so you know,
There's been a lot of fan complaints and media complaints
around here about why isn't Hyatt getting more of a chance,
(03:19):
And Brian Dable answered it two weeks ago and said, guys,
we're using mostly three wides, and those are the three
wides who deserve to be on the field. Hyatt's going
to get on the field when we go four wives. Well,
now the neighbors is out. Hyat's in running back. Wise,
the other guy who's going to be missing is all
reliable Devin singletary, workman like, dependable, durable, workhorse, kind of
(03:42):
blue collar back. Nothing spectacular out of him. He's just
a regular guy who moves the chains and does good things.
But he has got a groin. I'd say it's really
really a long shot that he plays. So that means
they're going to have to be going with Tracy that
they drafted this year in the fifth round out of Purdue,
(04:04):
or Eric Gray, who's in his second season. Neither guy
has much experience in the backfield. And I wouldn't be
shocked if they activate Dante Turbo Miller, the kid from
South Carolina by way of Columbia University who ran like
a sub four point two five in his forty doored
(04:24):
pro day, got locked up with some bad NCAA regulation
problems for his eligibility, consequently missed the draft. Had a
phenomenal pro day. He has great, blazing speed, and the
Giants were lucky enough to grab him as an undrafted
rookie free agent. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Well, Paul's the Tina wfan with us. And if you're
curious where Paul will be on.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Sunday, well is it the Giant game.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
That's his wife, by the way, and I told Paul
the story about that. We were taping a conversation with
you and called the house on accident and your wife
answered the phone. So she's been on this radio show
for a long time.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
By the way, I just want to know why why
he's not getting any residuals and I'm not getting a cut.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Well, you know what, as soon as we start getting paid,
then you guys will start getting paid, I promise you.
But hey, listen, I'm not trying to be a smart
ass here. Maybe I am a little bit. What makes
you even remotely because the last time you were on
with us, you were talking all kinds of smack about
the Giants and they got beat.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
Notice he's not today.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
No, But what, honestly, what makes you think the Giants
can come here and even remotely win this game?
Speaker 4 (05:32):
Well, as Bill Parcels used to tell us all the time,
there's a pathway to victory in every game for every team.
The question is how many paths to victory can you
reasonably lay out for your team compared to how many
you can lay out for the other team. Seattle has
many more paths to victory in this game than the
Giants do. There's absolutely no question about that. How can
(05:56):
the Giants win this game? Look, they've lost six to
the last trips to Seattle. You guys know, the only
time they won is when Cote McCoy was the quarterback.
It was Covid the twelfth Man. How to be quiet
because they couldn't be in the building. Wayne Gorman ran
for one hundred and thirty five yards and Alfred Morris
came back from the dead and ran for two touchdowns. Okay,
(06:18):
that's exactly kind of what the Giants need to do
on Sunday. They need to control the ball, keep the
score down, keep it out of that offense's hands because
you've got the weaponry out there in the passing game
that can do an awful lot of dangerous things. And
if you're the Giants, you want to take advantage of
all of these injuries on the Seattle defense that got
(06:40):
gouged for a forty spot by the Detroit Lions on
Monday night. That's the best path to victory. And then
to add to that, Hey, the Giants going to get
get some takeaways. I mean the Giants. Remember, in spite
of everything that's happened right now, the Giants are being
ranked middle of the pack between twelve and fifteen defensively,
(07:00):
they have a tremendous amount of talent on defense. You know,
if they can turn out into a couple of takeaways
all of a sudden, this game takes a little bit
of a different angle to it.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Well, we'll see, and we'll see a Sunday because you
will be at the Giant game Sunday.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
Well is it the Giant game?
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Can't wait to see if Pow will talk, then travel
safe and we'll talk to you.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
Man.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
I appreciate PAULI.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
Hey, great to talk to you, fellas, and I'm glad
to hear the weather's going to be good because most
of the time we go out there, it's a mess.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Yeah, well, you know what, maybe you never know what
these parts Paul Detina WFA and with us, we'll get
the factor fiction right brought to you by the Emeral

(08:02):
Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
All right, I was kind of going back and forth
here between a couple of games, but I think I've
made my decision. All right, I'm gonna go with my
gut here, which I think a lot of people don't
do enough when it comes to factor fiction. And when
my first selection I wanted was Oregon tonight, and that
rat bastard Ferness stole it from me for the second
time in three weeks. He took my pick.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
You don't want to root for Oregon anyway, No, no,
not at all.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
So I'm kind of glad that happened. To be honest
with you, I think the Georgia Bulldogs are pissed off
that the Georgia Bulldogs are a much better football team
than what they showed for all four quarters against Alabama
on Saturday. And you saw that in the second half
the way they came back and took the lead by
the way and almost won that damn game. They're coming
back home and they're playing a really bad Auburn football team.
(08:48):
You know how bad Auburn is. Remember when the Michigan
State Wolverines came to town two years ago and they
got their ass kicked by the Huskies. That guy that
played quarterback for Michigan State is now playing quarterback for Auburn.
His name is Peyton Thorn. Okay, that's who they've turned
to in the portal to play quarterback. This is a
football team, and the Auburn Tigers that lost to cow Okay,
(09:11):
Georgie's given a lot of points. It's a big number.
I think they come out angry. I think they come
out motivated. I think they come out focused. You'd like
playing teams after you'd like three teams after a loss.
They're given twenty two and a half. I think they
kicked a snot out of Auburn tomorrow in Athens. Gave
me Georgia minus the twenty two and a half against
(09:31):
the hapless Auburn Tigers in Georgia tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
Yeah, this would this would be a perfect letdown game
for Georgia had they won that game. But guess what,
they didn't win that game. So I do like to pick.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
All right, Jackson, you cool with us, You're good? Are
we cool on board together?
Speaker 4 (09:46):
I like it.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
I just want to make sure we're all on board
because Jackson pretty.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
Much poop pooed about five different games. You gave him
so and notice he didn't give you any suggestions. Well
that's the problem is that it's pick number twenty of
the week.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
The are a lot left.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
But I just really want us to be all friends
and be on the same page. So as long as
we all lose, as long as we lose together, I'm
totally fine with it. Go dogs, Georgia is give him
twenty two and a half against Auburn. Factor fiction to
four nine, four five one and right now. You got
one pick right a week on any show, and you're
eligible for one thousand dollars weekly priced courtesy of the
Emeral Queen Casino. Most picks right at the end of
