Speaker 1 (00:01):
From the city that changes the world.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Peers rose with three things you need to know?

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Are you Thursday Rose?

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Unfortunately, another case of the measles made its way through
Dollas International Airport. It was on June nineteenth, Virginia Department
of House as a traveler came through the airport on
the way to North Carolina and they were in different
parts of the airport between seven and forty five pm
and midnight on June nineteenth, including concourse, a concourse.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
CE baggage claim areas.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
So if you were in the airport at that time,
make sure you were watching for measles, which can develop
up to twenty one days after exposure. So the DC
Council unveiled legislation aimed at debating the Commanders deal separately
from the city's twenty twenty sixth budget, which would likely
delay plans to open in twenty thirty. So Chairman Phil
Mendelssohn said no one should infer from the introduction of

(00:48):
this bill that funding in the Mayor's proposed budget for
the Washington Commander's football team is in jeopardy. A Commander
spokesperson said that they're committed to working with the Council
around the clock to keep this project on schedule rule
and deliver the stadium by twenty thirty. However, they also
said that any substantive delays will jeopardize DC's ability to
attract premier concerts, global talent, and marquee events, including the

(01:12):
twenty thirty one FIFA Women's World Cup. And importantly, it's
going to slow down new jobs at the time of
the district needs it most. So they're saying they're hopeful
that the Council will continue to work and expedite this
so it can go through. Mayor Muriel Bounser and the
Washington Commanders have said that they want the Council to
approve the stadium deal by July fifteenth so that they
can move forward with that. Otherwise the team will be

(01:34):
allowed to pursue other options in Maryland and Virginia. I
will keep you updated. And did you know this is.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
A little fun fact.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
There's a certain way that you should store your ice
cream in the freezer.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
In the freezer, yes.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
But the people have been in Jerry's swear by this
simple hack, and it's to flip it upside down before
you put it in the freezer. Apparently, this trip helps
prevent freezer burn, and it stops the moisture from getting
in and settling on top. And just like ruinning the
ice cream. I thought that was a fun fact because
I love ice cream. I rose, those are the three
things you need to know for the day. You're welcome

(02:06):
other life eat all in one sitting. I mean, that's
the option. Yeah, we don't have to worry about freezer
bird at all.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
If you have self control, Hey, good for you. Some
of us just found the whole damn thing. I want
to hit this to real quick, hoodie. You sent this
to me. If you're going thrifteing, never get these things
at thrift store. Okay, starting with vintage painted items like
vintage dishware. Uh, you can xaminate everything you don't want
to make. Yeah. Next thing is mattresses. Well yeah, life, Yeah,

(02:37):
I understand, Like if you're down, I understand are struggling.
But they're saying they're contaminated with dirt, skin cells and
god knows what else. The experts says, think of it
like a sponge over time. It's so contaminated you need
a new one. That's worst because it is absorbing everything.
So it's like, yeah, at some point you gotta throw
a sponge away. Yeah, it's just what it is. Shoes

(02:58):
made the list.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
The main reason is because of back pain, because like
shoes conformed to the person who had them before.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, that's cool.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
That's one of those things too, Like the people like
neglect your feet that can throw off your entire body
le gym, Like definitely keep pain in your foot, can
cause pain your shoulder. Yeah, just like crazy that works.
Electronics made the list of things to avoid when possible.
They say chords could be freed or internal wiring might
be degraded, which that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Hows a fire.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
I also just don't trust, like somebody could put something
in there to read your stuff. Oh for sure, small
appliances like blenders and kitchen appliances, they say you can't
really field test those outside their warranty.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Yeah, I mean you're just buying what you see.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
For sure. Vacuums okay, so they say vacuums are not
built to last long. I didn't know. Meeting life spans
about eight years.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Think about my family growing up always had like ancient vacuums.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
So I did not know that you had like the
bag on it, and then like it was like a
metal No, we had the.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
One that had like it had a long cord with
like a really long hose. Okay, and you had the
little like it looked like you were just like walking
a dog every time you used it.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
I mean, the first magician I know is David Oric.
When he could show his vacuum hold a bowling ball up,
I was like, whoa, it holds up a bowling ball,
and I want to try it, but never did. I
don't remember that, but oh, it was that the vacuum.
W'd say, it's so strong and hold up bowing ball. Yeah, allegedly. Yeah.
They also say it's like kitchen appliances, you know, the
stass the warranty.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Yeah, that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Also would for me vacuums matches kind of fall in
the same category. That's somebody else's fils. There's like gross
stuff in the vacuum. Yeah, seems betting made the list.
I wouldn't want someone else as betting, but that's just me. Uh,
this is kind of grossy. According to the expert, you
can't always completely sanitize betting. Oh that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
I mean you can strip it, but I don't think no,
you get it all out.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
They say, especially with like betting and stuff. You can
get Amazon by twenty bucks. Yeah, that's fair. Go Target,
they have like the five dollars stuff for sure. Yeah,
beauty products, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
That's like going to support and using the testers like
all yourself.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Haven't you seen somebody that does. Have to tell us
a story about somebody who uses like face testers.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
Yeah, they were putting like lip stuff on the list,
and I've seen it happen a lot, but I was
actually there shopping with this person.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
I was like, yeah, don't do that.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, they say toys made the list just
because you don't know. Again, if they're what their condition is,
the dangerous kind of makes sense. And the last one
is car seats.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Yeah, because they change like all the time.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
They have an expiration date and if they've been in
an accident, you have to get a new one.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
I mean that's what they're saying too, is there's no
way to tell for sure it's been compromised. So I
think that's probably fair. If you want to add some
nine ninety three three eight to
