Alanah and Jake have been dating for over two and a half years and while they don’t live with one another,  Alanah tells us it’s mostly because of Jake’s ex who used to live with him and things ended badly. Alanah has been okay with it, but she has recently started to notice that Jake is taking his clothes to the dry cleaners even though normally he doesn’t regularly wash his clothes. At the same time, Alanah also got a text from Jake’s coworker last week wishing her to feel better because apparently Jake lied about Alanah being sick so she didn’t show up to their work happy hour.

We call Jake pretending to send him a free bouquet of flowers and when we ask who Jake wants to send them to, Jake asks if we can send them to someone named Roxie. Find out what’s really going on in this week’s War Of The Roses!

Speaker 1 (00:04):
War of the Rosies.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I need to turn down in your morning show. You
think the person you're with is the one. Everything's going well,
everything is fine, but then some cracks start to show
up things you think, I could this be something bigger.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
We try to rip off that band aid a.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Lot of good morning, say good morning.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
So walk us through this. You and Jake have been
together for how long?

Speaker 3 (00:28):
We've been dating for two and a half years?

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Okay, actually, and we don't don't live with each other.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
We don't live together.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Actually, he has lived with someone in the past and
it didn't really work out, so he's kind of like
hesitant to live with someone again.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Totally get I've.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
Actually been there, you know, that's actually happened with me too,
So not yet.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Okay, was was he engaged to this person or just
long term girlfriend?

Speaker 3 (00:52):
No?

Speaker 4 (00:52):
No, no, no, no, they were just they just dated and
they had a bad breakup.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
What was this the girl before you?

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
And this again just sidebar questions. But how long between
you two? Like, how long between that relationship and you
guys started?

Speaker 3 (01:08):
It was about eight months?

Speaker 4 (01:10):
Curious, Yeah, like long enough that he you know, had
healed from it.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
I don't think that he's holding onto anything that makes.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Sense to next.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Okay, so let's get into the reason we're here though.
So two and a half years is pretty big. There
had been a couple of things that may us think
something could be at before we kind of got the
big left hook. So let's start with the smaller things first.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
He he started bringing his his work shirts to the
dry cleaners.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Okay, which maybe maybe didn't sound like that big of
a deal. But this is the same guy that used to.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Literally pull shirts off of the floor and like shake
them out and put them on. So it's interesting to
me that now he's taken them to the dry cleaner.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
He's kind of out of character.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
Yeah, that would be weird. Yeah, And it's like someone
at works said something.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Could be I mean maybe like he has been talking
about wanting to do like get a promotion at work
and like do better, So there could be something to that,
so that I'm like, if it was just that, I'd
be willing to overlook it.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Okay, but there's more. Yeah, let's get into the face
timing exactly.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
So we used to FaceTime every night to say good night,
like if we weren't together, because we didn't always stay together. Obviously,
and so we would FaceTime just to like say a
quick good night. You know, it doesn't have to be
like a long thing, but it was always that's how
we would say good night. And now because he's so
busy with work or whatever, I'll just get a text.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Like just Okay, that's that's after two and a half years.
That's odd.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
Yeah, that would throw me off, And I.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Guess I want to get through this too, Alana, because
me of the biggest red flag is what happened this
weekend exactly?

Speaker 3 (02:44):
And then this weekend I get a text. So there's
this girl, one of his coworker's girlfriends. Her name is Rachel.
I know her well because her I'm.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
Like friendly with her and her boyfriend works with Jake.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
And I get a text this weekend and she goes, hey,
I hope you feel better. I'm like what what?

Speaker 4 (03:04):
And so it turns out there was this big work
function that Jake did not invite me to, and I
guess he was telling people that I wasn't feeling well
and that's why I couldn't go.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Yeah, not only did he not invite you, he didn't
tell you about it and lied about why you weren't there.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Yeah, that's weird, that's beyond weird. Yeah yeah, yes.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
That okay, So let's do this in Alana. We'll have
sauce call from the Flower Company, off from the Roses.
Clearly girlfriend two and a half years should go to you.
If they do go to you, we'll put them on
holds what you want to do. But they give us
somebody else, we'll get some answers for you.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Wore the Roses an intern Johnny Morning Shows. Wore the
Roses interns john in your morning show, Alana. Let me
recap this. You and Jake been together two and a
half years. We don't live with each other. He had
lived an ex previously didn't quite work out. He's a
little bit hesitant about moving in a game with somebody,
makes perfect sense. He recently started doing some things that

(04:03):
kind of raise eyebrows work wise.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Number one being he started dry clean his shirts, whereas
the four it looked like he had his shirts.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
And a ball and just kind of going like all wrinkly.
He sends a signed to up his game that way.
That's kind of number one. Number two, you guys used
to FaceTime nearly every United say goodbye, but recently he
started sending a text to night, which is.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
It's a big change in.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Regards to that, Lina, have you tried facetiming him like
at night and he doesn't answer or I've.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Tried once or twice, but I mean, you know, I
don't I'm not like pushy. I don't want to be.
I don't want to think I don't trust him or
anything like that.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
So I has been maybe one or two times where
I've called and he looks like, oh, sorry, I can't
talk or whatever.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
But nothing. I'm not like trying all the time.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
And in what timeframe or like how long we started
to realize this.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
I think, Well, the drive cleaning shirt, that's been a
out I would say maybe close to a month, okay,
because I just kind of let that ride for a while.
And the facetiming thing, you know, that's been going on. Actually,
you know what, the face timing thing has been a
little bit longer, probably more like two months since they've
actually facetimed regular.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Yeahcha, I guess like the dry clean thing. Can't I
call somebody out in that, because yeah, trying to themselves.

Speaker 5 (05:22):
You're trying to take you make yourself look pretty more
accessible work.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
But the biggest kind of red flag is this past
weekend you got a text some of his coworkers girlfriends saying, Hey,
I hope you feel better, which you weren't sick. Come
to find out there was a work function that clearly
spouses were invited to that Jake now only didn't tell
you about it, but told everybody there you were sick.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Is that fair?

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Exactly?

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Curiosity when somebody texts this nine nine three three eight,
when is the last time you were at a work
function with Jake?

Speaker 3 (05:52):
That's a good question.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
Let's see, they had like a.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
End of order.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
I don't know, they had the like hit their goals
or whatever. So they had just like a mini celebration.
It wasn't the whole company, but it was his whole
like core team. And that was like maybe six months ago.
I mean, it's not like they have company parties all
the time. This was this was like a they were celebrating.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Even though for you to be there. So I have
sauce call from the flower company, off from the Flowers.
You've been together two and a half years. They should
go to you. If they do, we'll put them on
hold sits you I do. If they don't. Well, I
guess my answers for you.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Sorry, one last question as far as his female co workers,
do you vibe with them?

Speaker 3 (06:39):
No, totally vibe with them. I mean, like I said,
one of the girls even called me to say like, hey,
hope you feel good? Definitely? Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
All right, so let's uh, let's do this.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Hello.

Speaker 6 (07:04):
Hi is this Jake?

Speaker 4 (07:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (07:07):
This is who is Hi Jake?

Speaker 5 (07:09):
My name is Helena. So I'm just calling you from
a new local flower shop. We're called YMS Flowers. We're
trying out to new marketing where we're offering locals a
free bouquet of a dozen roses, just hoping that you
will come back to us for future occasions. It's totally free,
you know, credit cards needed. Is that something you're interested in?
H Not really, We're just like a new local No,

(07:33):
we're just like a new flower shop. My mom and
dad opened us up of like six months ago, and
we're just trying to get people to actually see our
products in person instead of just maybe like an Instagram ad,
so that you'll actually come to the shop, you know,
just to buy somebody flowers or like whatever occasion, just
because business has been so.

Speaker 7 (07:51):
Slow Okay, I got a How did you get my number?

Speaker 6 (07:55):
It's just called Gorilla Marketing. So you're on a list.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
You probably signed up for something along time ago and
you ended up on here. So since you're in the community,
we would just like have been trying to call, you know,
everyone in town just see if they want to like
try it. You can send them to somebody, anyone you want,
and then they'll see the flowers and hopefully they love them.
You love them, and then my parents love me a
little bit more, and you come back to us.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Okay, I guess.

Speaker 6 (08:20):
You'd be helping pay for my college education. Does that
that sol you?

Speaker 3 (08:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (08:25):
Yeah, it's totally.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
Free though, Like I don't need your credit card info,
and then just remember.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
Us for the future when you're trying to impress someone.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Okay, so you read down, Yeah, I.

Speaker 7 (08:36):
Mean I guess I yeah, I'm not my credit card.

Speaker 3 (08:39):

Speaker 6 (08:39):

you want to send them to?

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Let's send them to Roxy Roxy.

Speaker 6 (08:47):
Is that like R O X I E or Y
or I E.

Speaker 7 (08:52):

Speaker 5 (08:54):

gonna keep everything file just in case you come back.

Speaker 6 (08:59):
They are red roses.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
H let's call her a special friend.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
I think that's there.

Speaker 6 (09:07):
Sure they are a romance. I would say the romantic.

Speaker 5 (09:10):
But you know, if you want to send your friend flowers,
that's fine.

Speaker 6 (09:15):
And then what do you want the car to say?

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Why don't we have it?

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Say? I can't wait to take you away to Hallow Falls?

Speaker 6 (09:26):
To Hollow Falls sound spooky?

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Is this a real Jake? Are you can hear me
right now?

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Hello?

Speaker 2 (09:33):
We can't say about half those words. He can hear you, So, Jake,
real quick, my name is intern John. I got sauce
here as well. That's your girlfriend Alana. We're doing a
war of the roses for the show. Real quick, Alana,

Speaker 3 (09:45):
Asking, Yeah, your girlfriend Alana?

Speaker 1 (09:49):

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Oh? I know what Hall of All is? I know
exactly what Hall of all this? Jake? Why are you
going to Hollow Falls? Airbnb? We say that that I
booked for us on our anniversary. What are you doing?

Speaker 1 (10:06):
What's right? Yeah? Why are you?

Speaker 3 (10:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Helana? Yes?

Speaker 7 (10:14):
Yeah, Hollow Faults?

Speaker 5 (10:15):

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Because Jake, you are taking a side piece to the
same any case what is it?

Speaker 7 (10:26):
Then you guys are getting this so wrong, right, hollow
faults Right, we went there, Alana, Right, that's exactly right.
And so roxy is actually a wedding planner. I mean,
this is not how I wanted to talk about, Like.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Okay, you know so you so why would.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
So let me ask you this then, Jake, why would
you if this is correct, why would you send a
wedding planner?

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Roses? I was about to ask for something you're paying for.

Speaker 7 (10:57):
I'm really happy like and work proxi for a little
while now, Like you know, I'm making changes in my life.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
I'm trying to like how.

Speaker 6 (11:04):
Much work do you you as a wedding planner before
you propose?

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Yeah, that's a good point. Also, actually yeah that's exactly crag.
Yeah why are you doing wedding planning? You've not even engaged?

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Rake?

Speaker 7 (11:19):
Yeah, because I want to see, like I'm trying to
like do everything right. You know what you're getting.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
No, that's the good point though. You're getting married at
the airbnb.

Speaker 7 (11:29):
And I thought like, is this the right place to propose?
And then maybe down the road like even.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
A full wedding.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
But I'm gonna have a whole vision here.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
Usually people ask, like their friends or family members. Like
people to actually know the potential bride where they should propose,
not a random wedding planner.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Friend. Yet, usually the groom asked the bride where she
wants to get married. You could do that too, all right, So,
uh I think we're done here.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
Yeah, so we are done here. This is insane. I
knew it. Everything in my body told me. I knew it.
I knew it.

Speaker 6 (12:05):
I knew it.

Speaker 4 (12:06):
You are a disgusting, cheating scumbag, and I cannot believe you.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
I am I, I don't.

Speaker 5 (12:15):
