Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's the Valentine in the Morning replay.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Welcome to the breakfast table of Valentine in the Morning,
I laughed heartily.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
I hope it's respectful to say I love you. The
full show podcast starts right now.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
One A four to three. My fam, it is Valentine
in the Morning.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
I think we should find a new segment called like
the Worst Trend on TikTok every week. I've been see
some real bad ones lately, and I feel like there's
something there, Like there's some that just make no sense
to me. This one is along those lines. There's this
new weight loss trend. I've been seeing a lot of
gen z are drinking these bottles of what they're calling
tadpole water.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
Oh you see this, Yes, I have.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
It looks disgusting. Yes, So it's basically a bottle of water.
It's got to be very lukewarm water. And they put
a few tablespoons of chia seeds in it and just
a fresh squeeze of lemon. But when you look at it,
it literally looks like frog tadpole like eggs in there.
Not great looking, and I'm sure I can't taste that
good either.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
I do a lot with you of seeds down.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Then I put them in like plant based milk, and
I let him sit there and they absorb it and stuff.
Cheeseeds are good in fibers, So it might help you
nominally lose some weight by moving things through you assistant,
because the fiber. Yeah, and the lemon juice is good too.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
They're saying cheese seeds are they're having a moment. Honestly, No,
people cheese seeds and all of the recipes lately.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Yeah, I mean, how many cheese seeds are in? There
is a tablespoon, a tea spoon, or what I mean
by some of these videos.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
It looks it looks like a lot. It looks like
a lot. They call it tadpole water.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
That's kind of what it looks like. Like you went in
a swamp and just got a little scoop of water
in there.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Well, that'll make you lose weight. Yeah, if you do
that again, I'm sure. Yeah. No, if you just take
something from a swamp and drink it, you'll lose weight
pretty fast.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
What else? Is that the only one?
Speaker 1 (01:42):
That's the only one I had this week? Yeah, this
is a thought in progress.
Speaker 5 (01:45):
Here, Okay, one a week.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
So this is this is our bad one of the week.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Ye, yeah, there are some is just some dumb stuff.
I saw one the other week. Oh my god, here's
another one. I do have another one actually continues. They
were these dentists had to come on because these chewing
gum companies were selling extra strong gum that these teenagers
were chewing because every teenager wants a chisel jawlne. So
boys were chewing this extra strong gum thinking it was
(02:11):
working out their jaw so they would have a chisel
jaw line. And dentists had to be like.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
That's stupid.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
No, don't do that, Like that's really bad for you.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
There is some device I saw on Instagram one time
that you actually put in your jaw and you do
that with your mouth like you're chewing gum, but it's
not gum. It's kind of like you know, the old
grips we used in our hands as kids. Yeah, I
still have this right, I still have one of those two. Yeah,
And it's basically that for your mouth to give you
chisel jaw.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
Yeah, can you exercise your jaw? Isn't it just genetics?
Speaker 1 (02:42):
I mean, they were saying, it's mostly genetics. There are
things you can do to tighten it up a little bit.
Oh really, okay, chewing strong gum is really bad for
your teeth.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
It's not one of them.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
It's bad for your jaw. It's not one of the things.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Help anything else next week, Like he's just he felt
some pressure.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
He made up the gum one there's the hard come.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
Six twenty seven.
Speaker 6 (03:04):

Adele confirmed something over the weekend that we all thought
had already happened.
Speaker 5 (05:14):
And she told us it did. I'll explain right after traffic.
Speaker 6 (05:19):
So, Taylor Swift had to cancel three of her tour
nights in Vienna due to a terror threat, but she
pulled some strings over the weekend to guarantee that Vienna's
cable channel, called o RF, they got a free TV
premiere of the Era's tour film. Now, I know that
that does not make up for missing Taylor Swift live,
but she has not done that before. If in order
(05:41):
to watch the movie, I'd either go to a theater
or watch it on Disney Plus. But she made sure
that everybody in Viennaoul would be able to watch it
on Saturday night, and Adele confirmed what we all thought.
Speaker 5 (05:53):
She's engaged. She was performing in Germany.
Speaker 6 (05:55):
She has a ten night residency and one of the
concertgoers held up a sign asking Adele to Miriam, and
she said, I can't because I'm already getting married. Then
we find out Rich Paul, her boyfriend nel fiance.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Have a great day, guys. Seven twenty two. It is
Valancin in the morning. Is some one of four to
three MIFM talking to the Superintendent of l eost In
just a few minutes here. The United States came out
on top of the Olympic medal count in Paris with
one hundred and twenty six total medals, including forty gold.
The fight for national brag and rights over gold medals
came down to the wire. In the end, shina US
tied with forty each. Some big events for Team USA
(11:42):
over the weekend, including gold medal wins for both men
and women's basketball, and a gold medal win in women's soccer.
Some of those games were tight. And what's so with
Jordan man? Let her have the bronze.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
Oh, she earned.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
It, she did great.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
And if you got to give the other two latest bronzes, fine,
let's have like three people share because everyone's like coming
down on these athletes. If you don't know that story,
it's very confusing to read. If you're a gymnast, you
probably totally get out. I'm sure, but uh, you know,
I'm on teen Jordan there, I'm team athlete. You know,
those judges and those committees and stuff. If they mess
something up, come on.
Speaker 5 (12:16):
Everybody's focusing on the girls. But what you need to focus.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
On the judges exactly, Let's get them Jill. The city
of Englewood has banned concerts on the plaza outside of
Sofi Stadium. This is in response to the hard summer
music festivals took place outside of SOFI on the weekend
of August third. It resulted in hundreds of noise complaints.
Some people in else the Gundo said the loud bass
from the festival was shaking their homes. Yeah they could fit.
(12:40):
John Sean totally. Wha, let's go man, let's do what's trending, John.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
So speaking of the Olympics. One of the viral trending
stores of the weekend came out of the breakdancing debut.
This Australian breakdancer Rachel Gunn. She competes under the name
raygun She's causing quite the sturb because she went out
there and she did something. I'm not sure what it was,
but she did something out there. It was like an
artistic interpretation of breakdancing. It's scored zero points, not one point.
Speaker 5 (13:08):
Oh well, you have to watch the video.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
I haven't seen it.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Oh, people are zero.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
She's getting roasted though.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
Yeah, people are zero.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
It looks like my dog when I give it a
bath and pick it out to the lawn and it
just runs.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Around the roasting and artistic interpretation of break dancing.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
You got zero?
Speaker 2 (13:26):
So in her credit, did you get like something like
Dan scats like you sign your name, you get something,
and you would think so.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
And she is a breakdancer. She's thirty six, she has
a PhD in cultural studies. She's a college professor. But
she's even won a breakdancing championship. But the kind of
breakdancing she did, it didn't really match up with what
they were looking for. I guess, you know, like when
your daughter comes up to you or some little kid
and they're like, hey, mom, watched this and they do
something that you don't know what it was, and you're like, oh,
good job, Like that's what people are saying.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
This looked like I don't think people are saying that
though a good job. No one said that in this
room so far.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
But people love her on the internet because it was
so outrageous, like it's kind of become a fun meme.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
What's her name again?
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Her name is Rachel Gunn.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
I'm Tim Jordan and Team Rachel. Yeah, just jump off board.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
We'll throw the video up on Instagram. At Valentine in
the morning, I'm John Camucci and that's what's treading on socials.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
It is the first day of school for LAUSD and
last Superintendent Alberto Carvallo is going to be on the
air with us next which blows my mind.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Great job. Rather, it's a big get.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
Oh, you're welcome.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
So something goes wrong in school today, it's because he
was on talking to us. It's the first day of
school for a lot of kids today, My kids a
bit later on this week. If your kids need a
shout out, reach out three one oh four three. Let
us say good morning to the LAUSD Superintendent of Schools,
Alberto Carvallo.
Speaker 3 (14:40):
Good morning, good morning. What day number one is school?
How are you feeling, sir?
Speaker 8 (14:48):
I'm feeling amazing, you know, even though I didn't sleep
last night because I was at a bus yard in
Guardia at four thirty in the morning. This is by
far my favorite day of the entire year. Is like
a reawakening the sleeping giant called lasc from its summer nap.
I love it.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Wait, are you at the bus people like fixing buses?
Are you a mechanic on the side?
Speaker 8 (15:07):
No, no, no, they don't even let me drive them.
But you know, once I bring coffee and pastries to
the bus drivers, we send them off. You know, we
look at the brand new electric buses that we recently acquired.
We have one hundred and eighty on the way, fifty
six of them already on the grounds. And look, it's
all about you know, bright smiles and aspirations for this
school year.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Today's such a big deal. Four hundred thousand students returning
to school. We're talking now, Alberta Carvallo, the LUSC superintendent.
Now over the summer, LUSC. This is the big story
because it's effected. My son's school too. Is not in
your district, but a lot of schools will obviously follow
what New York and what Los Angeles does. So you
guys voted the band's cell phones during the school day.
The band takes effect in January if you're a district.
People in favor of the band say the cell phones
(15:49):
distract students from learning and have a negative effect on
their mental health. I told my son, who starts this
Wednesday at his school. He's out in the Mentora area.
I said, listen, it's going to take a second to
get used to it. You're going to feel that withdrawal,
but it's probably going to be better for you.
Speaker 8 (16:03):
I absolutely agree. Otherwise I would not be supporting this
new policy right. But look, we have about three to
four months here at LUSB to speak with the stakeholders,
with parents, teachers, scientists, the students themselves to get their opinion.
We're also researching the best ways of separating kids from
the phones. We're looking at technologies that disabled the cell
(16:23):
phone signal okay, in addition to pouches that students basically
place their phones into. But look, it's the right thing.
The mental health decay as a result of this addiction
to social media platforms, you've got to come to an end,
and kids ought to be kids and socially interact with
their peers as we did when we were kids.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
The biggest thing my kid told me goes, how am
I going to know where to meet my buddies for lunch?
Speaker 8 (16:48):
In the lunch room that's esposed to be If they
look up instead of down from looking their phones, they'll
see everything they'll need to see.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
You know, not that hard, I agree, But I do
know it will.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
It will be kind of hard for these kids because
we as adults have to realize that they honestly have
become so addicted to the phone, much like many parents
have too, I suppose. But I think in the end
it's the right idea.
Speaker 8 (17:10):
I think so too. And look, I know it carried
some degree of controversy, but the research is quite compelling,
and at some point we ought to do the right thing,
no matter how hard it is, and that's why we
did it.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Let's talk about one of the big things that will
pop up with LAOC this year. What's going on with
that menu? Yes, what's happened? This wasn't there for us
as kids?
Speaker 3 (17:31):
What do you do it?
Speaker 5 (17:32):
Everything sounds so good.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
We'll take a break and talk about these new menu
items for LAOST coming up next.
Speaker 6 (17:38):
We had so many mornings driving to school in carline
in our Toyota Privia that was our minivan, and then
later when I got into high school, my parents got
at Toyota Sequoia, and so we've always been a Toyota family.
And now I drive around four and I still love
my Toyota and I drop off my nieces. Somehow, I
don't drop them off.
Speaker 5 (17:57):
I pick them up. Excuse me, pick them up from school?
Speaker 3 (18:00):
To get that right?
Speaker 5 (18:01):
Well, I know because I'm here.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
No, I know that I'm.
Speaker 6 (18:03):
Weird if I pick them up dropping them up for
my god, picking them up from school in my route force,
you can make the most of your days on and
off the road in a versastle New Route War with
its amazing range and with gas hybrid and plugin options,
you can choose the rout War that's perfect for you,
or the Priests Prime like Valentine drives, the Highlander like
John drives. Find out which Toyota is right for you
by visiting Toyota dot com.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
The weather Today's sunny, warm, tempts in the eighties, ten nineties,
Little in seventies, to Beaches seventy, Highland Park sixteen Orange.
Jill's got the entertainment headlines coming.
Speaker 5 (18:32):
Up, The Incredibles, Zootopia, Stitch.
Speaker 6 (18:36):
There were a lot of announcements over the weekend at
D twenty three about Disney animated movies.
Speaker 5 (18:40):
We'll run everything down for you coming up at seven fifteen, and.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
Who was broadcasting live? Which Jill On Saturday?
Speaker 6 (18:45):
From D twenty three Valentine went so exciting, so great.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
You didn't listen? No, he didn't. Oh really, right hand,
right hand. Oh that's so nice, the entire four hours. No,
but it was good.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
No, it's let's get back to our guest. La USD
Superintendent Alberto Carvalla. Today's a first day of school for
lost the menu. What are you guys doing over there?
Speaker 8 (19:10):
Let me tell you, how about chick p masala aros,
talking about beef tacos, salad bars, a healthy cinnamon bun.
There's something for everyone.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
I like that, A healthy bun. What is that?
Speaker 8 (19:26):
Yeah, it's yeah, it's whole grain, low sugar. Listen, I
tasted it and I give it thumbs up. Brought about
twenty four kids of different grade levels, different ages, and
the things that kids will be eating this year. You know,
they got the seal of approval from kids themselves. Oh
my gosh, massive investment. And look, we're looking out to
(19:47):
build a central kitchen. It's time to start cooking food
in our kitchens again, rather than just simply heating up food.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
Yeah, my mom was a cafeteria worker for a number
of years and she never made an assauti bowl or
a cheesy hollapeno bis with hot honey chicken. She was
at like rectangular cardboard pizza. That's what we had.
Speaker 8 (20:06):
Listen, we've evolved, right, but you know, thank your mom
for the great works. Did We cannot think our cafeteria workers,
our bus drivers, our teachers are principals. Everybody that makes
lsd'd be the great school system it is.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
Well, let me throw one last thing at you here,
because Brian, our producer, was talking about how at his
kids' school, the kids go to a Spanish immersion program,
correct which I think is brilliant. So they do a
fundraising thing where if they raise X amount of dollars,
their superintendent or they're you know, head of school of
principal will go down a slide that's just like covered
in whipped cream and cherry's and all this other stuff
(20:42):
and pine the face things. If there was a fundraiser
that was developed for lust for the kids, for the
arts program or something, would you go down a slide
covered in whipped cream.
Speaker 8 (20:51):
That's asking a lot of me, But there's no limit
to what I wouldn't do for the kids of Los
Angeles Unified. You know, I probably would shave my head
IFAR graduation hits ninety five percent, which is my goal.
I am that crazy about education, that crazy about kids.
This past year, every single grade level in reading, a math,
our scores went up. Our graduation rate went up two
(21:12):
years in a row, where now at a cool eighty
seven percent, our attendance is up back to pre pandemic levels,
chronic Apsinthia's missed down thirty four percent. We are a
district on the move, and this year we're going to
redouble our efforts with huge investments in the yards, bilingual
programs like the one that Brian was talking to you about,
even adult education programs in partnership with the Port of
(21:33):
Los Angeles for the young the adult. There are educational
opportunities galore for everyone. This is the district to watch.
I made a promise when I came to LA We're
going to become the best darn urban district in America.
And that's a guarantee.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
So is that a yes or no?
Speaker 11 (21:51):
It was as strong maybe speaking of all these different
increases in learning, are you guys at all concerned about
students using programs like chat, GPT and different AI programs
in the classroom at this point?
Speaker 8 (22:04):
Look, I think AI is here to stay. So I've
learned long ago that anytime we try to block access
to something, going to find they're going to find a
way around it, and they are. They're brilliant. So we
developed actually a digital responsibility policy on how to access
these digital assets, these platforms without abusing them. Cheating has
(22:25):
been around for thousands of years, right, But if we
sensitize our kids on the appropriate use of the assets
rather than the inappropriate use, then artificial intelligence such as
chat GPT can actually be a resource that helps, for example,
kids who are learning English on rapid translation help figure
out the problem. So it can be a resource rather
(22:48):
than a distraction or a tool for cheating. But it
goes with training and it goes with the responsible use
of these assets.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
We're all just learning as adults as well, and the
kids are naturally because the tech more head of the curve.
So we feel like in some respects in my household,
I'm behind the eight ball with that, you know.
Speaker 8 (23:05):
But look, as adults, we have a responsibility to monitor it, right,
sure that the guardrails are there to not allow them
to abuse it. And that's fundamentally our responsibility.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Well, superintendent, thank you for the time.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
Have a great day, I mean making time for us
in the day that four hundred thousand kids go back
to school.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
That was very generous of you. I appreciate that.
Speaker 8 (23:24):
Yeah, my pleasure. Thank you so much. Lest continue to
support public education.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Thanks hey man, brother, thank you you take care. Thanks
one A four to three min fam it's Valentine in

After traffic You've got a big announcement coming up in
just a couple seconds. We'll do the Hollywood headlines first,
enter Tament headlines, then really big announcement.

well from our friends at Disney when we talked to
them backstage. Apparently Disney's got like four more cruise ships.
Bob talked about that. My gosh, they're dropping four more
cruise ships. They've got a bunch stuff going on at
the parks, and I said, like, when are we ever
gonna do like a Disney cruise, broadcast live from it
and try and bring some listeners, like give away some tickets,
(25:41):
join us on a Disney cruise. We all go together
and broadcast live and Disney's like, we'd love to.
Speaker 5 (25:45):
They were all on board.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
You gotta just talk to Sabrina and John Peak.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
So we found out the gatekeepers that have been stopping
this fun promotion that Jill and I thought of years ago,
broadcasting from a Disney cruise is being held back by
John Peak, and only the named Sabrinasney.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
Was all on board.
Speaker 5 (26:02):
Their quote was, it's not from lack of invitation.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
We're like, what, it's not from lack of invitation.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
That's an exact quote.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Yes, that's an exact quote exactly. Was there John, Yeah,
I was at T twenty three.
Speaker 5 (26:14):
Yes, yes he was. And Ariana Grande is releasing a new.

Thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
Nice job.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
Well listen Alan as you exit the stage, this moment
is entirely yours.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
You take it away.
Speaker 8 (35:25):
Everybody, have a great day. I'm pretty sure my name
got called first.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
No it didn't. It didn't, I know.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
But you know, it's hard though, to be honest, though
it's hard sometimes it phones with digital phones, you kind
of hear echoes and stuff like that. But here we
have a full system that shows us thee digital footprint.
As soon as somebody says it so, and I was
rooting for you anyway. Honestly, Hey, I guess coming up?
Speaker 3 (35:51):
Three things I need to know.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
The Olympic flag was officially passed to LA in anticipation
of the twenty twenty eight Summer Games, and people already
worried about traffic, already worried. Officials say they have a play.
It's a no car plan. What's that coming up? Three
things you need to know? And Natalia Perez has a
morning Traffic to tell you what's going on.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
We're going out to Anaheim right now.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
Thou on the fifty seven south at Lincoln.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
Say twenty two, it's Valentine in the morning. This is
one of four to three MIFM. Yesterday the Olympics in
Paris came to an end, which means the next Summer
Games gonna be held in LA in twenty twenty eight.
People already concerned about traffic. Do you have any problems
with traffic in your daily commute? Imagine the Olympics. LA
may Or Karen Bass addressed this over the weekend and
said there's a plan to avoid traffic jams. Everyone's going
(36:33):
to sky dive in like Tom Cruise. The goal is
to expand public transportion options and encourage businesses to let
people work from home during the seventeen days of the Olympics.
So it's called the No car Olympics, and want all
of us to take the metro You really think you're
sitting next to like Kendall Jenner on a metro bus.
You think that I don't know, You never know, You
(36:53):
never know. First day of school for last meeting, Over
four hundred thousand kids are returning the classrooms today. District
officials are celebrating opening day with a growing fleet of
electric buses, new food options that include in the Salty
Bowl and a vegan friendly chick be Masala. Earlier today,
we spoke to Lasdu Superintendent Alberta Carvallo about all that
and the upcoming cell phone ban as well.
Speaker 3 (37:14):
John, what's trending?
Speaker 1 (37:15):
Another trending story from the Olympics here. If you're watching
that closing ceremony, as they were passing the torch to La,
you might have heard the announcers bring you to Venice Beach.
But then you might have noticed that doesn't really look
like Venice Beach. That's because it was actually Long Beach.
Long Beach. People were really excited about this. They were
keeping this super under wraps. I even drove by this
stage last week, but then we found out that that's
the stage they built where Snoop Dogg was performing and
(37:35):
where they passed the torch. So the Games in four years,
we'll have some events that are in Long Beach, So
that's kind of why they did that there. It's still fitting.
Speaker 3 (37:42):
But people were said Venice Beach.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
They said Venice need to say Venice in that Long Beach.
Speaker 1 (37:46):
I think it's because Venice is just more well known,
I guess, so they were trying to like draw to that.
But they were saying, now live from Venice Beach.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
But that's so weird, and it was it was Long Beach.
Oh if I lived in LB.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
Yeah, people from Long Beach were commenting all over that
I know that beach. So I'm John Comuchi. That's what's
trending on socials.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Did you have a bad first date that ended up
in a successful relationship?
Speaker 3 (38:06):
Text In a three one oh fourth.
Speaker 6 (38:07):
Raeit Tex says on our first date, when I met
my now husband, I didn't like him. There was nothing there.
Six months later though, we started dating, and a year
later we got married. Is it just remind our first
impressions aren't always as a good reflection of a personal situation.
And this text says my now husband of twenty one
years canceled what was supposed to be our first date.
(38:30):
He was working crazy hours at the time and was
too tired. We ended up going out again.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
Mm hmmm, we eventually where you do three one, four threes?
Speaker 2 (38:40):
A text line It is Valentine in the morning, this
one of fourth three MYFM, my fam It's Valentine in
the morning.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
Brian just goes, do you want to tell your story here? No?
I don't. Oh no, you've never heard that story.
Speaker 5 (38:51):
No, I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Dude, you have the time, yes to here in my
love story. It happened years ago with me Leilani. So
it was our first date. She was dancing. She was
a dancer at the University of North Texas. God, you
take a breath and you fill in blanks. You shouldn't
(39:12):
be Good morning, kids, welcome back. So she was dancing
U and T. She was on their dance team. She
was the head of dancing and stuff, and I was
It's a conflicting story. Nobody knows, really, you know who
it's a long time.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
It really knows. I don't know. You don't know. You
weren't there.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
And I was supposed to meet her and come see
her dance at her football game due to traffic in
the Dallas Fort Worth area, and I think they just
had a space shuttle landing or something. Oh that was
there was a lot of stuff going on back then.
I might have missed it. So I said, I'll meet
you at your house. And then I met her at
her house, and you know, we went out to the
(39:47):
I don't know, to a steakhouse, the outback steakhouse and
had a blooming onion and everything. But I missed her dancing.
It was like I believe it might have been, could
have been. Probably was her final game.
Speaker 5 (39:59):
It was her life.
Speaker 3 (40:01):
Listen, I just met the lady. I just met her,
you know.
Speaker 5 (40:04):
But she expected you to be there, like she That
was the point.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
I think it was like, if you could make it,
it'd be great.
Speaker 2 (40:09):
I don't know if it was like, oh, I don't
really know, Okay, then you're okay, right, Well, she might
tell me a story differently.
Speaker 5 (40:15):
We have to text her.
Speaker 2 (40:15):
I don't think you need to, but so yes, and
now we're still married twenty six years.
Speaker 5 (40:20):
It's great. It all worked out.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
It all worked out. So what's your story bad first date?
Not that it was a bad first date, you.
Speaker 5 (40:25):
Just missed, like, you know, really big performance.
Speaker 3 (40:28):
Listen.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
Does she get a bloomin onion, you know, and the
stake of her choice?
Speaker 3 (40:33):
Yes, with two sides. Yeah, I'm a giver.
Speaker 2 (40:36):
Yes, So what was your first date that went bad
but then the relationship actually worked out? We all drive
to it is here in Valentin in the morning. I'm
a preest Primes listener. Wrapt four Johnson Highlander.
Speaker 1 (40:45):
I went to a wedding this weekend in my Highlander
and I was the one that took all the groomsmen
to the wedding. And I love putting new friends in
my Highlander because they hear me talk about it on
the air. So when they get in, they're like, I
want to charge my phone. I know you got all
those USB ports and I'm back here. And it's hot
out here these days in the summer too, so I
can put the little climate what are they window shades up?
Speaker 2 (41:05):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (41:05):
Yes, it really cool in the Highlander. I don't really
use those much, but on the hot days it really
comes in handy. Plus, there are some features I don't
really use that often too, like this the clothing hangers
that you can hang your suits on. Yeah, I never
used those, but we didn't want to wrinkle our suits.
So it was so cool to have those and still
have all the room for these guys and even more impressive.
One of the guys I was taking. He's six '
five tall guy. For whatever reason, we threw him in
(41:26):
the very back seat the ones that fold up, and
in some cars like those are tiny seats and you
can't really fit a lot of people back there. In
the Highlanders, so much room. Dude's got the longest legs
out of anybody sat in the third row seat had
more than enough room for everybody. So that's what's nice
about Toyota is they come loaded down with tech and
features that are good for the driver and everyone else
included too. So find out which one's right for you
(41:47):
at Toyota dot com.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
I'm gonna tell you prides and that too. Traffick withv
on Tine in the morning, Natalia, any bad first dates
that ended up in long term relationships?
Speaker 12 (41:56):
Unfortunately no, But like my first date with my has
been Matty was like a.
Speaker 5 (42:01):
Very memorable one, but not because it was like, oh,
the best date ever.
Speaker 4 (42:05):
It was just like, weird things happened on the date.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
Give me give me the top weird thing that happened.
Speaker 12 (42:12):
He was like, he went to the bathroom at one
point and he was gone for like ten to fifteen minutes.
I thought he ditched me. And then he came back
and he's like, you won't believe what happened to me
in the bathroom. And I was like, Okay, what happened?
And he was like, I saw this guy doing weird
things and had to go go away. But he's still
in the bar, and I think we should tell somebody.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
And I was like, well, where is he?
Speaker 12 (42:30):
And then we went like on a stakeout and like
tried to find the guy and we didn't find him.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
Sounds like he probably just had a bad tummy.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
He needed a cover story made that up.
Speaker 2 (42:38):
That was that we're telling those guys that, no, listen,
that's one hundred percent made up as guys, you can't
come back at a first date and go I just
had a bad tummy.
Speaker 1 (42:45):
Same thing.
Speaker 2 (42:46):
Yeah, you can ask him about that honestly today.
Speaker 3 (42:49):
Go listen.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
Here's what the boys said they said, you made that
up one hundred and ten percent. I never thought of it.
Speaker 3 (42:55):
Oh my god, what like on a first date?
Speaker 2 (42:57):
What guy would come back to a girl and go,
I've had a bad tum tumb. No one would say that,
you make up story. There's a guy in there and
he's flying a kite.
Speaker 3 (43:05):
That's the weirdest.
Speaker 2 (43:06):
Thing, all right, weather today's sunny, warm temps eightiestuid nineties.
Let him in seventies to beaches seventy two sixty ninety
four beach. Jill's got the entertainment headlines coming up.
Speaker 5 (43:15):
It was a battle at.
Speaker 6 (43:16):
The box office this weekend between Blake Lively and her
husband Ryan Reynolds.
Speaker 5 (43:20):
So whose movie came out on top? I'll tell you
coming up at eight fifty, Kelly.
Speaker 3 (43:23):
Do you have a bad first date? But you ended
up staying together?
Speaker 9 (43:26):
Actually ended up in a thirty year relationship so far.
Speaker 3 (43:30):
So wow, what was the bad day? What happened?
Speaker 9 (43:33):
Well, we went to dinner and we had I had
surf and turf, and then after dinner we went to
the movies. And of course first date. So I'm wearing
the tightest jeans I have and I dommic starts hurting
through the movie and I keep thinking, oh my god,
I shouldn't have ward.
Speaker 2 (43:50):
These geens or was it the surf and turf?
Speaker 9 (43:54):
It was a surf and turf for sure. Oh no,
Because afterwards we went to go have a drink and
I ordered seven off and he took me into my
car and I was trying so hard not to hurl.
Unfortunately I ended up throwing up all over him, all
over him.
Speaker 2 (44:12):
Yeah, oh no, Kelly, listen, we're not on FaceTime, we're
not on Zoom, we're not on teams.
Speaker 3 (44:18):
I'm gonna guess you are super hot.
Speaker 10 (44:24):
Well in nineteen ninety four, I certainly was okay, But.
Speaker 3 (44:29):
Like, if you do that and like at first date,
somebody throws up all over.
Speaker 9 (44:32):
You, That's why I think it's so bad, because you know,
we did figure it out it was food poisoning.
Speaker 3 (44:39):
But okay, did he pay for dinner? Of course, God,
all he saw was like forty bucks on the car floorboard.
Speaker 9 (44:49):
And married down thirty years, cal you know, almost thirty years.
Speaker 3 (44:52):
Good for you?
Speaker 10 (44:53):
Good for you?
Speaker 2 (44:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (44:55):
Has he ever thrown up on you?
Speaker 7 (44:56):
Oh? God?
Speaker 3 (44:56):
Why would you like? Thank you? Kelly?
Speaker 4 (45:02):
Serious?
Speaker 3 (45:03):
No, no, nothing is getting that answer. I'm sorry, Kelly,
that's true. Time they're giving me the red ner. They're
pulling me off the same show. Have a great day
and tell you we said hello.
Speaker 9 (45:13):
Okay, all right, thank you so much, everybody.
Speaker 3 (45:16):
Have a great review you too, Thanks very much.
Speaker 2 (45:19):
Coming up nine o'clock this morning, the iHeart Radio Music Festival.
Speaker 3 (45:24):
Your chance to go at one thousand dollars in the
way too.
Speaker 5 (45:26):
Just be listening at nine o'clock.
Speaker 6 (45:28):
We'll give you a keyword and you could be headed
to Vegas for our iHeartRadio Music Festival.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
Heidikole tell us about that bad first date that worked out.
Speaker 2 (45:37):
Hi.
Speaker 10 (45:39):
So, my friend that I met through a mommy and
me group wanted to introduce me to a guy that
she knew in junior high. And we met and I
told her don't ever bring him around again. He's so annoying.
I can't stand this guy. And now, coming up in September,
(45:59):
we will have been married fourteen years.
Speaker 3 (46:02):
How did it go?
Speaker 2 (46:03):
You're in the mommy and me group, your single mom
at the time. Obviously you meet this guy. Unless you
just hang around mommy and me groups, that'd be weird though,
right right, Okay, I got it right? Okay, So you
meet this guy. You detest him, He's not anything. How
do you get that second date?
Speaker 9 (46:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 10 (46:19):
Honestly. She was going to meet with a friend and
she needed a wingman, I guess, and it just so
happened to be that same guy. And we were sitting
at a bar and we were just kind of talking,
and I think because it was just the two of us,
one on one, we were able to get past the
(46:41):
annoying part. And what I found annoying in the beginning
ended up being kind of funny and humorous, and we
just hit it off.
Speaker 1 (46:49):
After that.
Speaker 2 (46:49):
Wore you down once again, We just wear you down,
annoying guys, hold the line, don't give off.
Speaker 1 (47:00):
Would's still waiting on Kyla's switch?
Speaker 3 (47:04):
Sure, still do.
Speaker 4 (47:06):
But she fell in love with me.
Speaker 3 (47:07):
That's right, that's right.
Speaker 5 (47:08):
Can you give us an example of the annoying quality?
Speaker 3 (47:16):
Heavy?
Speaker 10 (47:18):
He does, breathe heavy, he walks heavy. But it was
more of like just the need to make somebody laugh.
While it was funny, it was more of a like
you're trying, that's really hard. Like it just became more
of you're so annoying that I don't even like the
(47:41):
sound of your voice.
Speaker 3 (47:45):
And you got past that, did you?
Speaker 6 (47:47):
I did?
Speaker 4 (47:48):
I did.
Speaker 10 (47:48):
I know if it was some liquid courage that got
me through the.
Speaker 2 (47:54):
Or what.
Speaker 3 (47:55):
But it worked out for it together again.
Speaker 10 (47:59):
Well, i've been married fourteen years. In September, we've been
together fifteen Okay, I'm.
Speaker 2 (48:04):
Married now twenty six years, so don't worry. The annoying
comes back around.
Speaker 10 (48:08):
Well, oh, he still annoys me, it's just in a
different way.
Speaker 6 (48:14):
Basicle A cameo was written for Deadpool and Wolverine that
ended up not happening.
Speaker 5 (48:21):
But if it did, crowds would have gone crazy. I'll
tell you what their plan was. Right off traffic.
Speaker 6 (48:30):
A cameo was written for Deadpool and Wolverine that ultimately
didn't happen.
Speaker 5 (48:37):
So I still have not seen dead Pool and Wolverine.
Speaker 6 (48:39):
I'm trying to avoid spoilers at all costs, so I
will not be trying to spoil anything for you right now.
Speaker 5 (48:43):
So this is something that did not happen.
Speaker 6 (48:45):
So it was recently announced that Robert Danny Junior will
be returning to Marvel as Doctor Doom. But before that,
the dead Pool and Wolverine writers said they had a
downy draft and they thought about bringing him back as
Tony Stark, it ultimately didn't happen, and they said, we
did love the idea of Tony Stark being in there,
but we also perfectly understand why it didn't happen, given
(49:06):
the Downy jumped on stage at Comic Con. It became
Doctor Doom not ten seconds after our movie came out,
so they understand.
Speaker 5 (49:12):
Why it could not happen.
Speaker 6 (49:14):
And speaking of Deadpool and Wolverine, it was a battle
at the box office this weekend between It Ends with
Us and Deadpool. So ultimately it was a battle between
Blake Lively's movie and her husband.
Speaker 5 (49:25):
Ryan reynolds movie. So when all the numbers.
Speaker 6 (49:28):
Were tallied for this weekend, Deadpool and Wolverine came in
number one, making fifty four point two million, and then
It Ends with Us came in second, making fifty.
Speaker 2 (49:37):
It should have because that guy and It Ends with Us,
you know, the lead actor, Yes, was flirting with Blake
a bit too much, I think in that movie. But
I've heard those rumors, yes, and it was bothering Ryan Reynolds.
It was bothering his mom and Hugh Jack had very
upset about it too.
Speaker 7 (49:53):
I did.
Speaker 5 (49:54):
I did see those those posts.
Speaker 2 (49:56):
It was very tough but it was a little heart there.
I felt bad for him. I guarantee you that guy's
not going to a soccer game.
Speaker 5 (50:03):
Oh because Ryan Midold's Yes, I'm with you now, Yeah,
you're right. I'm Jill Dim The headlines.
Speaker 3 (50:11):
Date fifty two.
Speaker 2 (50:12):
It's Valence out in the morning, not twenty It is
one of four to three my family, it's a valance
out in the morning. Lisa Fox in here at ten
o'clock today. We went to d twenty three over the weekend.
So much fun, so much fun, great time. And Jill
was there the entire time.
Speaker 5 (50:24):
Yes, all three days.
Speaker 3 (50:25):
I went one day. That's good.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
It's a lost food trucks are right too, by the way.
Speaker 5 (50:31):
There's a lot to see and do.
Speaker 3 (50:32):
She had a hotel and everything. She was just living
her best life.
Speaker 4 (50:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
Her husband was floating around saying.
Speaker 10 (50:38):
Hi to me.
Speaker 3 (50:39):
N Yeah, you know.
Speaker 5 (50:41):
It was so fun.
Speaker 3 (50:42):
It was a neat time. It's a neat time.
Speaker 1 (50:44):
It would have been cool to see Jill in her
element like that.
Speaker 3 (50:46):
She was in a john she was in it.
Speaker 5 (50:49):
Safe to say Valentine is now a Disney adult.
Speaker 4 (50:51):
I say you post that, and I wanted to ask
you about that. You are a Disney adult.
Speaker 3 (50:56):
Now, yeah, you what you posted me as the Disney adult.
I never sanctioned that.
Speaker 11 (51:01):
Now.
Speaker 5 (51:01):
In my caption for the.
Speaker 6 (51:02):
Real that I post on Instagram, I said, I believe
Valentine is now a Disney adult.
Speaker 5 (51:08):
You came to D twenty three because you asked me to.
Speaker 7 (51:11):
I did.
Speaker 5 (51:12):
I did, But like you had a good time.
Speaker 2 (51:14):
No, I did have a good time, but I still
know like the three days of it. Yeah, and maybe
next time all were costume.
Speaker 4 (51:21):
Oh, what would you dress up as Tarzan?
Speaker 6 (51:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (51:26):
It works if we go a Disney character, it is.
Speaker 3 (51:29):
Yeah, oh my god.
Speaker 6 (51:31):
If we got to get in the whole show goes,
we should all dress up in some type of theme.
Speaker 1 (51:36):
Oh, that'd be kind of cool.
Speaker 2 (51:37):
Who was the better for Like Mowana had the big
belly and you said, oh, he really got into a thirty.
I didn't say that. No, he had like really big belly, Like, oh,
he ate his way into that character. I'm like, way
to go, bro, I do that too.
Speaker 5 (51:48):
There were a lot of great costumes, like really.
Speaker 3 (51:51):
Good costumes, like the Mousker costumer Ball and Mousquerade.
Speaker 4 (51:54):
What is it called, Yeah, the Mausquerade.
Speaker 10 (51:56):
Good job.
Speaker 2 (52:00):
All I told you because I walk out with the backpack.
The one thing I will say about it, though, is
everybody seemed very happy.
Speaker 6 (52:06):
You know.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
It really was like the second happiest place on Earth
or something of that moment, and everybody really enjoyed themselves.
And it cites me have an event like that where
people are really into something. They all come together because
that's their thing, right, and everybody's happy to enjoy themselves.
Speaker 6 (52:18):
Yeah, we have this common shared love of this one
thing that brings us so much happiness, right, and so
everybody is just in a good mood.
Speaker 2 (52:24):
Like the top comment that I saw and heard there
was I'm having so much fun and she'll congratulations. Yesterday,
the Olympics in Paris came to an end, which means
the next summer Games are here in La in twenty
twenty eight. People already concerned about traffic, but Mayor Karen
Bass says there are plans to avoid traffic jams.
Speaker 3 (52:42):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (52:43):
The goals to expand public transportation options and encourage businesses
to let people work from home. During the seventeen days
of the Olympics. I want a broadcast live some type
of event great, like an event like nobody's watching, you know,
it's got to be something. One of those boring events
will take anything right just to get in the door right.
The city of Englewood has banned concerts on the plaza
(53:05):
outside of Sofi Stadium. This is in response to the
Hard Summer Music Festival, which took place ouse that is
so far over the weekend of August third, result in
one hundreds noise complaints. Some people in Elseon Go Know
said the loud bass from the festival was shaking their homes.
One man on a toilet set as pipes broke. John,
(53:26):
what's trending?
Speaker 1 (53:27):
You have missed this sports news over the weekend because
of all the Olympics coverage. But Major League Baseball is
going to play a baseball game in a NASCAR speedway
next year. They just scheduled this game for the Atlanta
Braves and the Cincinnati Cincinnati Reds. It's gonna be during
the regular season next year at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee.
It's give me the first time a baseball game has
been played in Tennessee. So that's gonna be August second
(53:47):
of next year. I'm John Kamuchi, and that's what's trending
in sports.
Speaker 3 (53:50):
How about the rams over the Cowboys. What's up? Even
though it's preseason, we're stoked about it.
Speaker 2 (53:56):

you to talk about it.
Speaker 5 (54:43):
I know, we like gave an actual start date that was.
Speaker 3 (54:45):
Said Monday, starting Monday. It's just starting next Monday, just in.
Speaker 2 (54:49):
It came in the show this and again, students can
call in and play are you smarter than Valentine in
the Morning?
Speaker 3 (54:54):
And your odds are pretty good? Right now?
Speaker 5 (54:56):
Yes, definitely, yes they are.
Speaker 3 (54:57):
We'll give you a.
Speaker 2 (54:58):
Wide berth, but your odds are pretty good. Brand new laptop.
Every time we give a laptop away, John, we donate
one to the Heart of la that's right.
Speaker 1 (55:05):
And they do great work for kids who really need
those laptops, so it's gonna be really nice that they
have a whole collection.
Speaker 2 (55:10):
Yeah, and you can get a laptop in the process,
that's right, that's right, you know. And we'll ask questions
that uh, you know, you can answer. We can answer.
Who wants to play? I do for sure, okay, Jill?
Oh right now, when did we land on the moon?
Speaker 3 (55:24):
What year?
Speaker 5 (55:26):
Okay? It was definitely in the sixties, nineteen sixty two.
Speaker 2 (55:35):
No, but very close really nineteen sixty nine? Oh yeah, okay,
So are you smarter than a Valentine in the morning? Holls,
throw it at me, guys, it shouldn't just be you. Okay,
I can look dumb.
Speaker 6 (55:48):
Hey what.
Speaker 3 (55:51):
Sorry that came out the wrong way. Okay, it came
out the wrong hole. Nothing. It's a funny job.
Speaker 5 (56:02):
This would require us having to know something to ask you.
Speaker 1 (56:06):
John, what amendment to the US Constitution? Thank you Google
grant citizens the right to vote regardless of the race, color,
or previous condition of servitude.
Speaker 3 (56:15):
Give me a chance that one? Okay?
Speaker 11 (56:17):
Um?
Speaker 3 (56:19):
Let me think.
Speaker 2 (56:21):
Mmm, you're thinking the fifteenth Amendment?
Speaker 3 (56:28):
Did I get it right?
Speaker 8 (56:29):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (56:30):
You are smarter than John, I think. How does this work?
Speaker 3 (56:33):
Just asking a question? Did I get a laptop?
Speaker 10 (56:35):
You get a John?
Speaker 3 (56:36):
How about that? How about that? Well?
Speaker 2 (56:40):
Starts Monday on Valentine in the morning. If you beat us,
you win a laptop. Students are encouraged to play Monday morning.
Speaker 6 (56:50):
Adele has confirmed reports that she is engaged. You know,
she's performing this ten night's residency in Germany and one
of her fans held up a sign asking Adele to
marry them, and she said, oh I can't, I'm already
getting married, and then flashed her four caroed engagement rings.
So congratulations to Adele and rich Paul. Apparently they got
(57:13):
engaged in mid July and Taylor Swift had to cancel
three of her tour show nights in Vienna due to
a terror threat, but Taylor Swift pulled some strings over
the weekend and made sure that Vienna's cable channel ORIF
scheduled last Saturday the premiere of the Arastour film on
TV for free. So while it's not the same as
(57:36):
seeing Taylor Swift live and seeing the Aras Tour live,
she wanted to make sure this was the first time
she's ever done it on cable television.
Speaker 5 (57:43):
I'm Jill for their Taven headlines.
Speaker 3 (57:45):
All right, Jill, thank every show.
Speaker 5 (57:46):
Thank you for your show.
Speaker 2 (57:47):
Jim, thank every show, Laura, Thankavery's show, Brian Burton, thank
you for show. Michael Pulman in New York City, thank
every show to tell you for us, Thank every show.
Speaker 1 (57:56):
