(00:15):
Remember remember all right, kid, wanting everybody and welcome. I'm sitting here

(00:47):
like I've never worked a gatorade bottle, trying to trying to put the lid
back on. Oh yeah, isit Friday yet? Yeah? Close enough?
So it's it's Doomsday Thursday, asI'm calling it around here, because
that's what it is. If you'rea Vikings player tonight against the Eagles.

(01:08):
I suspect, but who knows, man any given Sunday, right, any
given Sunday. And last year therewere some crazy upsets early in the season.
There's been a couple this year,so who knows. So I'm a
little not looking forward to that later. But that being said, we do

(01:32):
got a good stack of stuff. We got some rollover stuff we didn't get
to yesterday. By the way,Ross, I didn't realize how small the
Mexican alien bodies were because I neverI saw. I looked at a bunch
of photos, but I just tookit for granted how big they were.
And then I happen to see avideo after the show. They're like us.

(01:55):
They're like the size of a smalldog. Man, did you realize
that they're not as like small aslike the alien in the dude's head and
men in black, right, butthey're still pretty. They're tiny, yeah
they are. I was thinking ofsome other men in black references. But
they're they're they're not even as bigas the three dudes in the coffee room

(02:19):
right that are got their little bungalowtwo. I can't remember if they have
names or whatever, but they kindof kind of are in all of the
they're they're the size of the pugman. It's no wonder they didn't make
it. And you know that's that'sassuming they're not just paper and machete or
something. But now I had noidea. So those were tiny little coffins.

(02:43):
But when you saw them in thein the pictures, just by themselves,
I just took it for granted thatthey were they weren't big ones,
because you know, you kind ofin your brain because you said, and
you were right. It kind oflooks like et. I went for et
size or the grays, you know, the little gray aliens, which are

(03:04):
what what are they three and ahalf four feet? Those things are the
size of things are the size ofa of a of a yip dog,
a yip yip dog. So Idon't know, man, I don't know
if that makes them less or morebelievable for people, but kind of a

(03:24):
letdown, I guess. I don'tknow. But you know, as we
saw in Mars attacks, you don'thave to be big to come here and
mess everything up for us, Imean, mess everything up. They come
in peace? Do they do?They come in peace? I mean Hindsights

(03:46):
twenty twenty. Did you still feelthat way? In fact? You know?
In fact is celebrate. I'm goingto release all these doves. Oh,
that's very nice of you. That'sah, that should that should be.
That should end well, right,we shouldn't get any letters from Peter
or anything. Ah, dude,I'm trying to think of the last time
I saw that movie. It's beena while. It's been a long while.

(04:08):
But yeah, you know, justbecause you're small, unless you're Marvin
Martian and then it never works outfor you anyway. All right. So
yeah, just a little housekeeping updatethis morning because it was on my brain
as I was fighting with my gatoradebottle. All right, coming up,

(04:30):
So this is this Supreme Court thingsgetting nasty and if not, just what
we talked about yesterday where the governorbasically decided he was going to take the
appointment and put an activist in therefrom like one of the big activist groups.
And I just pointed out that ifI was if the Republican governor was

(04:55):
in there and he was only appointingpeople out of activist groups, I understand
the there is going to be aqualifying, a qualifying thought process on the
part of the governor as to wherethey think they're going to vote, because
that's how we do judges, SupremeCourt, state Supreme Court. Obviously at

(05:18):
the national level, it is whatit is. That being said, if
you were pulling people directly out ofactivist groups the Republicans were, they'd be
losing their damn mind. So thatwas the thing yesterday. If you don't
know, there is a complaint onthe other Democrats Anita earls or an investigation

(05:42):
for criticizing racial and gender biases withinthe state court systems, and there is
there's some language and a rule thatjudge can be held accountable for if they
violate the rule the judges have forimpugning the integrity of the courts. Now,

(06:02):
one could argue that the two fasttracks show trials that the Democratic would
you know prior to seating the Republicanswho won in the last election. The
the fast track decisions on two bigissues with legal theory that I nobody can

(06:23):
seem to understand, which has nowbeen undone, that that was impugning the
integrity of the court because they weren'teven trying to make a legal argument.
It was crazy town, man.So in this case, now we have
a state rep who is out thereand is throwing names out and making accusations

(06:45):
as to who he thinks is responsible. So yeah, well we'll touch on
that. I'll tell you the Repis Abe Jones, and he's accusing the
Chief Justice of doing it. Now, in these particular cases, whoever triggered

(07:06):
the investigation, whoever initiated is asecret under the law. But Abe Jones
is out there, he's running aroundand he says I got some sources,
and Riel just took him at hisword and ran a whole story on it.
So we'll give you a few moreof the details on that. We

(07:27):
got McCarthy stuff. We had anotherincident at UNC, albeit arguably different,
And I have a question for allthe students who came to the legislature the
other day who don't admittedly nobody wantsto have to have something like this happened
near them, whether it's the incidentfrom yesterday the student accused of killing his

(07:51):
advisor. That being said, ifyou're really serious about stopping it, I
I feel like there's some other thingsthat maybe you should consider lobbying for,
voting for, so we'll touch onthat as well. And uh yeah,
oh dude, this this ross.Did you watch the wedding video? Did

(08:20):
you watch the drunks at that RhodeIsland wedding come out and go full cage
match with the police. It's like, yeah, yeah, I watched it
while loading the audioly twenty minutes ago. Okay, dude, very classy.
Dude. Look, people are madat that police officer for dropping that check.

(08:43):
But there's another video. I don'tknow if you saw it from a
different angle. She is straight upbehind him pulling hit trying to pull his
gun out or something off of hisbelt. And I'm pretty sure that you
don't do that. And we're gonnahave to break it down because the amount
of people I saw who I don'tnecessarily believe, who are like, you
know, normally I'm a supporter ofpolice, but this is too far.

(09:09):
You don't hit a woman. Youknow, a woman can grab your firearm
and kill you. That's like MichaelBrown stuff man. Yes, yeah,
except when you see the other videoangle it's so apparent. It's not we're
not having to look at forensics andfigure out where there is powder residue and
all that. Like you can straightup see it. And the women were

(09:31):
out there kicking the officers in theyou know where you don't where. If
you kick men, it can bepretty incapacitating. And it is twenty you
know, like twenty different instances asyou go through that video, some people

(09:52):
repeating it where individuals are putting theirhands on police, are screaming or are
within inches of officers who are tryingto subdue at least a couple of them,
and the police are outnumbered. AndI guess if you haven't seen the
video, go watch it. Wegot it on the on the Twitter at

(10:13):
Casey on the radio, so thatyou have it fresh in your mind,
because I want to go over itand we'll tell you what everybody's charged with.
And I think it's nice they're gonnaget initial appearance before the honeymoon,
so maybe maybe they'll get to dothat. But yeah, that thing was
That thing is bonkers, man,but it is six seventeen. Will take

(10:35):
a break, be back on thek c O Day radio program. This
is one oh six one FM Talkin the Triangle and there's talk w PTI
in the Tryead. All right, welcome back, six twenty two ac O

(10:58):
Day Radio program. And the weddingbrawl from one of the more insane I
guess not in the middle of ariot. We'll say that interactions with police,
because obviously we saw during riots andprotests, you know, some seriously
insane things over the last few years. But you know this is this is

(11:22):
police responding. I don't even whyare they responding anyway, I don't know
that it's said, but they were. They were in the process. Oh
okay, all right, here wego. So they had a guest who
wanted to get into this wedding, but he showed up hammered, hammered.
The guy's name David Ohnick. Sosecurity staff called around one am. Disorderly

(11:48):
party apparently had been at the wedding, went somewhere else. They're in like
this this restaurant on this is anew port, so it's on the water.
Basically everything is and the guy hadleft and was coming back, but
he was he was in no condition. He was being belligerent and he wouldn't
leave, so secured he did whatsecured he did. So police are literally

(12:11):
talking to the dude outside the door, and a crowd has gathered, including
his wife, and it all toldsix people were arrested, but there's easily
like ten standing around there, andthey start surrounding the officers who tell them
repeatedly to move away, because againyou're encircled, you're against a door which

(12:35):
is shut, and your attention isattempting to deal with the reason you're there
and when you are and I'm sayinglike inches away. Police don't like that,
and they told him repeatedly, repeatedly, you gotta move back, you
gotta move back. The people whowere standing back even a few feet filming

(12:56):
police didn't seem to have a carethere. Then they ended up going hands
on after the wife tripped and fellduring her arrest. Then an additional like
two women moved in and started kickingofficers in the groin. Then two dudes
jumped in, and there is athere is a slap that an officer administers

(13:26):
on a woman that irritates the biggestdude there. Now he's up on the
officer's back, thirty year old RobertNash. He punches one of the officers
who is knocked over. His noseis bloody and broken. And then again
you have the officers out, numberthree to one, and they're inside the

(13:48):
circle. It's a nightmare scenario.Man. I wouldn't want to be in
there. I wouldn't want anything todo with it, knowing that all those
people were mad at me, regardlessif I'm police or whatever. And then
if you look at that, youcan look at the main video and you'll
kind of see it. But there'sanother video where you see this woman literally

(14:11):
reach and grab something on his beltand at that point he knocks her out,
and then everybody's screaming. All told, six people were arrested. They're
charged with, let's see here, everything resisting arrest, obstruction of justice,
to sorderly conduct, assault on apolice officer. I'm not going to read

(14:35):
all their charges, but everybody's gota little bit of what I just read
there. And of course they're like, oh, the cops were way out
of line with this. I don'tthink so. Look, it's aggressive and
that when that that woman who reachedfor the officer's belt goes down, she
goes down hard. But frankly, she's lucky that's all she got. And

(15:01):
I don't mean that in I wantto see police just roughening people up for
no reason. That's a big, big, big deal, man. That
is. That is something that hastriggered multiple stories that we've done where people
have gotten something off an officer's beltand an officer generally another officer used deadly
force and was justified. That wasthe whole Wendy's thing, remember down in

(15:26):
Atlanta with at the Wendy's that isn'tthere anymore because they burned it down because
you know, that's what you dowhen you don't like how something played out
and don't want to wait for peopleto investigate. So yeah, and kicking
officers in the groin? How manyhow many guys have been incapacitated from getting
hit in the groin? Dude,I'm telling you that is. It is

(15:50):
definitively one of the craziest videos.I think it's just because it's a wedding,
right, It's not a bunch ofI mean, it is a bunch
of drunks. I understand that,but you're at a wedding, and I
guess even when I've encountered really drunkpeople at Wait, I watched a dude
get arrested at a wedding. Iwasn't at the wedding, but I was

(16:11):
near the wedding and everyone else washammered, and it was kind of a
singular instance. So I don't know, Ross and I say, we don't
like going to weddings, but Iwould have watched from a safe distance and
been quite entertained to see this thinglive. But yeah, the you know,

(16:33):
you screw around you find out. That's the only way I can say
it on the radio. But checkit out at Casey on the radio,
on the Twitter. We got itthere for you. We'll be back hang
on. So after the show ison the iHeart radio app, search Casey
O Day for the podcast on theiHeart Radio app. All right, good

(16:57):
morning and welcome. It is sixthirty five. Do you do you do?
Oh? Check this out. Iknow you're gonna be shocked to learn.
So, uh, we told youabout and we talked about this with
Senator Bud Tuesday. But the announcementon Monday, which of course was nine

(17:22):
to eleven anniversary where the US hadapparently struct some sort of deal with Iran,
and the deal as we as wetalked about continues to be another one
where I just want to start acountry and do nothing but negotiate with the
US because you're gonna make some cashor you're or you're gonna come out on

(17:45):
top. We're not good at negotiating. Right now, the US and Iran
would swap five prisoners each, andthe US would so people people sit there
and they go, well, whatthey're they're We're not sending them six billion
dollars. It's technically their money. It is kind of mostly, but it's

(18:11):
frozen, and it's frozen because theyare the largest state sponsor of terrorism.
So yeah, it's still a piecein a negotiation. So to act like
it's it's just their money and itshouldn't be counted. And uh, you
know, Biden done good because fivefor five is equal is wildly disingenuous.

(18:37):
They don't have access to it.It's uh, I think it's in South
Korea right now. As part ofthe deal, we would move it to
UAE somewhere one of the friendly orone of the countries. We're friendly with
anyway. Yeah, all right, and at that point rather than just trans

(19:00):
spring it on palettes as we didunder Obama. The reason you do that
is so that you can micromanage whatthey use it. It would be Qatar,
okay, and there it would beunder strict oversight by the US Treasury
Department because of the deal that wehave Qatar with Qatar, so we can
do this stuff and the money willonly be used for humanitarian purposes. That's

(19:22):
what we were told. Now,you could make the argument if you have
six billion coming in, you know, for humanitarian purposes approved stuff, then
it allows you to move money outof that and spend it on not so
nice stuff. The problem is this, it sounds like Iran is either either

(19:45):
we were not told what the actualdeal is or they're trying to change it.
So Iranian President Abraham or ross RISII don't even know how to say
his name, sat dow Lester Holtfor an exclusive interview and disagree that that's
the terms of the deal. Accordingto the Iranian president, he said,

(20:11):
and I quote, that they wouldhave the authority to decide how the unfrozen
funds would be spent. The moneybelongs to the Iranian people, the Iranian
government, so I Ran will decidewhat to do with the money. Again,
is you know, is that himbloviating a little bit, But ultimately,

(20:32):
if we're going to sit here anddo a deal, and even if
he's going to misrepresent it, it'sagain a bargaining ship. So all of
these people are sitting there running aroundlike, well, it's their money anyway.
Obviously it is an important negotiation pointbecause this is seemingly where the sticking
point is. They don't care aboutthe five for five. I've seen people

(20:53):
suggest that we're essentially paying right,We're we're paying for the release of our
people, which you don't want todo. We don't negotiate with terrorists,
We don't. You don't want toset a scenario where anyone can just take
US residents hostage or US individuals hostageand the government will just pay you.

(21:14):
Every time we do something like that, it it just encourages more of it.
So we threw in the five Iraniansto make it look even. But
the sticking point is the money. This is what this is about. Iran's
got a horrible economy, They gota lot of problems because there's a lot
of sanctions, and also, youknow the government's a little tyrannical. They

(21:37):
need the money. And for themto sit there and just decide they're going
to do it, they don't haveany respect for what we're doing. I
don't want them to get it anyway. But if they're gonna, you know,
sit down with Lester Hold and saywe're gonna we're gonna disregard this,
why is the Biden administration not immediatelysaid all right, well, if you
don't want to do the deal,we're not going to do the deal.

(22:00):
I haven't heard a peep from him. He went on to say the Iranian
president humanitarian means whatever the Iranian peopleneed. Well, the Iranian government thinks
the Iranian people need, uh,you know, weapons to destroy Israel with
or you know, the US ifI guess they get a chance at it.

(22:25):
So they need they need all thestuff that they're not supposed to get.
How do we know, because wehave an idea of what they already
spend their money on, and it'sa whole lot of things that go boom
man. So I would hope somebodywithin this administration, maybe within the State
Department. I'm not holding my breathgoes on and says, well, look,

(22:49):
this is what it is. Hecan say that all he wants,
but here's the document or here's whatwe're going to do. I don't like
the deal, but you damn surebetter represent the deal and and handle it
in the way that you say you'regoing to instead of just letting him go
on and set the terms for it. And you go, oh, well,
okay, all right, well wealready still we're going to do it,

(23:11):
so we'll go ahead and do itand hopefully they don't use it for
a new program or something does mindboggling man, So there you go.
Yeah, they're already backing out.And that's only one of two stories we
have. I'm reading some of thestuff that our governor was tweeting the last
couple of days, and I'm wonderingif his whole put Medicaid expansion in the

(23:32):
budget bill and I'll sign it issomething that he's willing to do anymore,
because now he's on there complaining aboutvouchers and everything. We'll touch on that
story coming up probably in the nexthour. So just f yi, that's
on the way. Okay, dude, this story right here, so as
you have probably heard and then ignoredbecause screw Hollywood. If you want to

(23:57):
be nominated for an Oscar, andI think the Baptist too, which is
the British thing of the Oscars ortheir version of the Oscars, you have
to meet diversity guidelines. And Iremember reading through these things and it's you
know, it could be a percentageof the people that are working. It
can be some of the staff. When I say working, I don't just

(24:21):
mean like on screen, but thereis a component of that as well.
You get more points if it's onscreen, if their lead from a writer's
perspective, and for a percentage ofthe staff that you don't see, you
know, caterers, key grips, lighting people, you name it right and
if and then the the theme ofwhat you're doing right counts and you have

(24:47):
to you have to cobble together enoughpoints if you want to have your movie
be able to be eligible for awards. Okay, So there's a movie coming
out and it's let's see Mads Michelsonwhy I'm down with It's called The Promised
Land. And so they were atwhere were they at there at one of

(25:10):
the one of the film festivals, and it's time now for the director,
and uh Mad's if you don't knowwho that is, He's he played the
bad guy in one of the Bondmovies, Casino Royale. So when they're
at the table, he's the he'sthe bad dude. Okay, so he's

(25:33):
he's a star in this. He'ssitting there with the director, and the
reporter asked, and this is thequestion of a movie which is uh let's
see seven. It's set in theseventeen fifties in Denmark, and it will
not currently qualify for Best Picture atthe Oscars because of the new rules.
And this is the reporter's question. This is a reporter. By the way,

(25:53):
the film is entirely Nordic. Ittherefore has some lack of diverse with
the new rules implied in Hollywood. The journalist then goes on to explain some
of it, YadA, YadA,YadA, and then goes why did you
make the movie and not have whydid you make the movie and not have

(26:15):
a more diverse staff? In fact, here here we go. Here is
here's the insanity of the Q andA. And then the response here from
the from the director and she thereporter asked in a much more irritating way.
But I think you know what theanswer is here. They are responding,
this is a cast and a dangersproduction which is entirely Nordic, therefore

(26:40):
has some lack of diversity. Youwould say that's also new rules implied.
Are you going to sorry? Butthere is said some Okay, Well,
first of all, the film takesplace at Denmark in the seventeen fifties.
I'm not a I'm not a Danishscholar. I like history, but I

(27:04):
admit that I haven't done a lotof review of the population of Denmark in
the seventeen fifties. However, ifhe had to guess, Ross, if
you just had to venture a guess, what would you say the percentage of
BIPOC individuals in seventeen fifties Denmark wasYeah, we're just ventured. We're just

(27:29):
guessing one or two, one ortwo percent. No total people, maybe
it's just one or two of them. Yeah. In fact, the director
goes on to say that like theydo have and they have one actor who
is and I think he said, that's probably an accurate account of how many
people in the Nordic countries were blackin seventeen fifties or in the seventeen fifties,

(27:56):
and he's got to sit there andsay that, and then he's gotta
listen the snotty questions from the reporters, the woman and the dude and just
stare at them like they're idiots.Right, look, you understand, you're
you want to you want to getan answer to various questions, and sometimes
you ask a question you kind ofknow the answer to. I do that
when I'm interviewing people because I wantthem to be able to pass the information

(28:18):
on to you who maybe didn't geta copy of the press release that their
office had sent out. That's fine, that's just a stupid question. That's
just the dude is a reporter whoobviously is a European reporter who fully understands
what the seventeen fifties in Denmark andin many most of the countries for that

(28:44):
matter, look like anyone who's nottouching the Mediterranean, I guess. And
he's got to sit there and actlike he's answering that and not go,
you guys are all dumb. Youguys are all flipping morons. But man,
it's this is this is the thingthat has come up before it came

(29:06):
up with Dunkirk, right, Rememberthey were mad, They're like, why
is there not more diversity in thebig crowd shots of the troops and Dunkirk
and literally you had to go,well, if you look at the British
population, especially the British military duringthe era of the Battle of Dunkirk in
World War Two, was a lotof white dudes, was almost exclusively white

(29:32):
dudes. And then they get ina beef. But now they have created
these rules where you can go aheadand say that, but they're not even
going to consider your movie. Andthey already have a problem ignoring movies that
are actual popular movies for people goneor those days, right, and now
you just they're not even gonna beable to be considered, and they're gonna

(29:55):
sit there and go, I can'tbelieve less people are watching this year's awards.
But ah, that's where we sit, man, all right. Eight
eight eight nine three four seven eightseven four. I do enjoy, though,
all of the memes that people haveput together with like you know,
with the reimagined movie posters, theDisney spond I think Little Mermaid really kicked

(30:17):
that into high gear and they hadlike twelve years a slave with who was
it Brad Pitt or something. Right, there's some great movie poster memes on
this, and this thing ain't stopping, all right, eight eight eight nine
three four seven eight seven four. They are very interested in Lauren Bobert's trip

(30:38):
to the theater and now they're nowthey're outing her companion. And I gotta
tell you, man, this isthis is some dirty politics stuff going on
right here. They're trying to getthis dude canceled. I am one hundred
percent on that theory, and Ibelieve that to be true. I'll explain

(31:02):
why coming up here on the caseO Day radio program Smart Talk All Day,
five w PTI in the Triad andone six one FM Talk in the
Triangle. All right, good, good morning here six fifty eight. So
here's what we're gonna do. Weget into the next hour. The incident

(31:26):
on UNC's campus, obviously was froma news perspective, was very elevated because
of the recent shooting of a supervisorexcuse me, a constructor by one of
his students, allegedly. And youknow, we didn't know what was going
on at first. Well, nowwe do. We have a scope of

(31:48):
the incident, and uh, wehave a little background, which I think
might be you know, kind ofimportant since everyone was at the legislature screaming
at the elected officials so they couldn'tdo their job. We'll have some suggestions
next after the news hang up.All right, good morning everybody, and

(32:42):
welcome. It is seven h sevenhour number two here running Thursday. So
yesterday, let's see, because uh, we had we had some of our
bosses sending out emails about this breakingnews, alerts for internal stuff, and

(33:08):
a lot of people were on edgeas a report came out of an individual
at UNC with a gun, verylimited information as to what was going on
it when it initially came out armedand dangerous person on or near campus was

(33:30):
the exact quote from UNC Chapel HillsPolice, and within about an hour the
all clear was given. So thisis this was not what it was the
the other time, right, Thiswas not an individual who had a person
in mind and was according to policeagain individuals just charged. But an individual

(33:58):
with a person in mind that theywere going to that campus to shoot,
which is obviously what we know ofthe other one appears to be what happened,
and even after it was a singularincident, something that within my just
a few miles of the UNC campus. Happens quite regularly. Just get on

(34:22):
fifteen five on one at on thehill to Durham, and unfortunately, that
is, that is the reality formany folks who reside in the city there
and can't can't, can't afford tonecessarily move away from those areas. And
every time we see one of thesehorrific stories, or you know, Durham

(34:45):
had eight shootings the other day, kind of you know days, I feel
horrible for those folks because there havebeen abandoned by the leadership, by the
people who are supposed to be handlingthese things. But it brought about a

(35:07):
big reaction, and of course therewas press conferences, there was threats to
march to the capitol. We playedsome of the audio. It was you'd
have thought it was Virginia Tech. And it's look, it's important to realize
murders illegal. And I roundly recognizedthat anyone who was on the campus near

(35:34):
God forbidden in that building and thelab building there. It was a very
emotional incident. I don't begrudge anybodythen, but you got to deal with
the reality once you say, allright, now we saw what this is,
let's figure out how to make sureit doesn't happen again. This thing
yesterday was different, and it wasdifferent in the sense that you had somebody

(35:55):
who went into a bagel shop oncampus and flashed a gun at a clark.
I don't know if there was abagel disagreement. I'm not sure.
I'm not sure why this individual decidedthat he had to show a firearm to
the Alpine Bagel Cafe employee. Nowthe cafe is on campus. There there

(36:22):
was a loud confrontation and then boom, flashing the gun. I wanted to
make his point. Didn't have, apparently, you know, the negotiating skills
to do it like a productive memberof society. If there is a disagreement,
you can have a conversation. Nope, I had to go all all
gangster. And that's what police areresponding to yesterday. Now we saw then,

(36:50):
and I'm trying to meld these twostories together. We saw students then
rally. They rallied on campus ina high fight where you're hand You read
that growing up in your schools.Change. It's not a choice, it's
a necessity. You want the GeneralAssembly to ask Thomases gone just like shooting

(37:12):
after shooting after shooting for decades.Yeah, we don't ever seem to do
anything about it. Let's just leadersneed to act like our lives depin on
it, because they do, allright, all right, so any you
know, it's pretty standard, whichwhat you would see. And then from
there, David Hogg came to town. They got themselves, some students organized,

(37:32):
and they went to the capitol andthey then decided to get up in
the gallery and out in the hallwayand everywhere else and disrupt what was going
on. Okay, now we're upto speed. Let me talk about the

(37:53):
guy that they arrested yesterday, andperhaps maybe we can handles some of the
concerns of the students and maybe doso in a way that you're not thinking
of, because I promise you votingout the only people and I say this

(38:15):
is not on an individuals from anindividual standpoint, but perhaps from an ideological
standpoint, the only ones who tendto actually do things. From a law
enforcement standpoint, maybe isn't your bestsolution. This guy they arrested yesterday,
his name is Mickel Harris. Helived He didn't live in Chapel Hill.

(38:37):
He lives over in Durham, buthe likes to come to Chapel Hill.
He likes to come to Chapel Hill, and he didn't just come yesterday when
he was arrested. He was arrestedactually just north of campus, so apparently
he had he had moved, theyfound him whatever, so he was arrested

(39:00):
on an outstanding weren't for arrest forhis connection to the UNC Chapel Hill incident.
Now, the way that they wereable to handle the arrest, not
just in this case but also providea little background was fairly easy because this
dude's a frequent flyer. And infact, on the fifth, so not

(39:21):
even ten days ago, on thefifth of September, he visited another another
place of business. This time itwas in let's see, in the town
of Chapel Hill, an old DurhamRoad and Scarlet I don't know exactly where

(39:42):
that is, specifically the Carolina BlueMini Mart. According to a police report
on this during the September fifth incident, Harris decided to and I want you
to I want you to hear allthe stuff that he's accused of doing.
He he is facing charges of assaultby pointing a gun, communicating threats and

(40:04):
going armed to the terror of thepublic. Now, why don't you ask
yourself? And this is an assaultalso assault charges on Wednesday's incident. So
if this dude did all of thosethings and was out and it's not even
been ten days and or you know, they knew who it was, they

(40:27):
knew all this stuff, and hewas he's facing the charges related to the
incident, Why the hell is hein a position ten days later to go
in and wave a gun at abagel shop? And who do you think
is running the criminal justice system thatwould sit there and go, yeah,

(40:52):
let's you walked into a gas station, you assaulted somebody, threatened them with
a firearm, where this guy wouldthen be in a position to do it
ten days later. And by theway, that is not the totality of
his rap sheet, but it issomething that literally happened this month, a

(41:13):
week and a half ago. Soif you want to go scream at politicians
or you want to ask yourself, how do we find ourselves in a situation
where there are bad people out therethat are able to do bad things.
You're not it's not going to dealwith all of it. I'm just saying
this is a piece of the puzzle. It doesn't sound like the student is

(41:35):
accused of shooting his instructor had arap sheet, so maybe this wouldn't necessarily
deal with that. But a bigchunk the majority of what you're dealing with
from a firearms violence, especially overin Chapel Hill, Durham and surrounding areas
there is due to people who arenot legally possessing a firearm, who are

(41:59):
out in criminal acts. Are firingshots, are killing six year olds going
to get snow cones, are robbingstores, assaulting gas station clerks, trying
to you know, threaten a person, make it a bagel for them.
And they're not incarcerated where they shouldbe. They're giving light sentences, they're

(42:22):
giving deferred prosecution. And I don'tmean the first time where you're like,
all right, you know, everybodyscrews up once. These are these are
the people that they arrest. Theyarrest again and again and again. And
so I guess if you want tobe mad one, if you voted for

(42:43):
the types of politicians who don't doanything, who want the softer sentences or
the das who don't want to prosecute, then I don't know that screaming at
Phil Berger and Crew's going to bethe or Tim Moore is necessarily he's gonna
get you what you want. Whydon't you go for the biggest threat in

(43:05):
in in your world right there? And that is the biggest threat as it
is in most any city in Americacounty, doesn't matter whether it's red or
blue. And that's people who don'tcare what the laws are that you want
more of and go out and commitcriminal acts. The difference is when those
individuals find themselves committing those criminal actswhere they actually do sentence people, They

(43:30):
do hold him accountable, They domake sure they're not back out on the
street nine days later to do thingsit brings about a better result. And
I look, I understand he's notconvicted of the Carolina Blue Mini mart incident.

(43:53):
But you might go in and pointa gun at somebody, like if
if you're a legal gun owner,if you're a concealed carry person, and
you know that you don't get togo in, get into a disagreement over
the price of skittles or whatever itis, or the way your bagel's made
and point a gun of people andexpect not to be held accountable. And

(44:13):
I would argue that the majority ofthe students, I don't know exactly how
they voted, but they sure soundlike they probably voted for the very same
people. They went, Oh,well, you know, we don't want
to, we don't need we don'tneed bail or you know, a significant
bail or anything like that. Wedon't need to when somebody is a multiple

(44:35):
offender, and I'm talking into thedouble digits, we don't need to.
We don't need to realize that theydon't seem to care that there's laws,
and they're just out making people's livesmiserable. So what's more injurious the North
Carolina legislature who repealed a pistol permita purchase thing but not a background check.

(44:58):
That still continues to ex or theindividuals who don't punish people who then
break the very same laws that you'resaying you want more of. You could
have saved yourself a lot of traveltime too. It's a little bit of
a hall from Chapel Hill and overto the North Carolina Capital. It's a
nice visit. I encourage you todo it, but you save fuel and

(45:22):
that's that's a green thing to do. So yeah, I'm sorry but there
is there is something staring you rightin the face. And if you want
to organize, and even if youwant to continue to be upset over what
you think the Republicans should do,that's that you're well within your right.
But if you don't address what's literallystaring you in the face, then I

(45:45):
feel like this isn't about solving theproblem. It's about registering voters. And
I know you'll be shocked to learnthat there was a lot of those uh,
a lot of those tweets from someof those same individuals who were down
there all right, seven nineteen phonenumber eight eight eight nine three four seven
eight seven four back in just afew so we one oh six one M

(46:14):
Talk and ninety four five w PTI, two stations driving the best in talk.
This is Casey O Day and Carolina'sMorning News T five. Let's get
into phone calls now, Jamal, you're up first. What's up? Good
morning, Kasey. How are youdoing? Uh? You know, my

(46:36):
voice is a little crap and Igotta watch the Vikings lose later, but
otherwise, you know, we're good. Can I do for you? I
thought, I thought I hear whatyou say, because this is what I'm
going off of, you said thegentleman who had four to gun and Chapolhield
was also did this in the GreatCity of derm and for some reason he
was laid out with a low bonor something like that. No, no,

(46:58):
no, no, no, no. I want to be I want
to be abundantly clear. Here heis from Durham the September obviously, the
incident yesterday is on UNC Chapel's campus. The September fifth incident where he was
arrested for putting a gun in somebody'sface threatening to murder them or whatever his
threats were, and that happened inthe town of Chapel Hill. Uh Selisa

(47:21):
Leahue, who's the Chapel Hill pD police chief, said an investigation led
us to seeking charges on assault relatedincidents. So she's so it was Chapel
Hill police on the September fifth incident. That's why I said. These kids
don't have to go anywhere, right, they just go talk to the people
in Chapel Hill that are supposed tobe running things and ask them why they're

(47:42):
They just decided this dude didn't needto be in jail. I guess I
don't know where you know where tacit comes the time, because I thought
you would say that was in Durham, because I can take it who it
was. But since the dam doesthe same thing, man, I mean,
let's let's face it. During soSantana Doomberry is horrible. That's why

(48:04):
when you said, Dan, sayyou Wilson Darren, I am thinking,
oh, no, wonder. Buthere's the thing. And this is why
I say, the legislators and thelegislators in Raleigh, our Republican legislators,
if they can send me papers andand always asking me to donate. You
you know, I donate to theRepublican Party here, but it's just not
you know, you always send methis twenty five dollars letter. Then you

(48:27):
can send people out so when theyhave these protests, who are willing to
go down and speak for the secondamend Man and speak for law and order.
And I have told you this,me and you, I think we
have disagree slightly on this time aboutthey can start writing. Okay, they
need to start removing those DA's likethat. They need to stop being scared
and start removing these DA's. Faith. I hear what you're saying, Tomal.

(48:52):
They have to have a mechanism likeFlorida has a mechanism for it,
and we kind of do here, but it could be better your day smarter
one oh six one FM Talk andNews Talk ninety four five w PTI more

(49:13):
with case starts now. All right, here we go. It is seven
thirty five kc Okay Radio program. We're just reflecting on the UNC Chapel Hill

(49:35):
Hall of an individual who was armedin the on camp whose bagel shop had
displayed the firearm. I don't knowif they brandished or pointed it, but
threatened, definitely threatened as it waspart of a larger verbal altercation according to
police, and was arrested and theywere you know, the headlines are are

(50:00):
we had to do this twice insixteen days or whatever it is, And
and we had the students who wentdown to the state legislature to scream at
Republicans when as I sit here andI look at perhaps possibly some problems a
little closer to home that may contributeto this. And it's fine, Look,

(50:22):
it's fine if if we're going tohave different ideas, but I would
like to hear some ideas rather thanjust screaming and ideas specifically that are actually
constitutional, unlike you know, whatthe New Mexico governor did, although a
judge did put a halt to that. Abiding to pointee, but again,
the problem that many of these thesethese big leftists have with what they did

(50:47):
is that they gave the game awayso and they don't feel that that's because
they have to, you know,it has to be incremental what they're doing
to get what they want. Andyou go full boor start stripping rights,
people tend to look at you andgo, you know what, I'm not
rooting for you anymore so anyway, but I just thought it was interesting that

(51:08):
literally not even ten days ago, this dude who was arrested yesterday allegedly was
just down the street doing the samething at a gas station, pointing a
gun in the clerk's face, threateningto threatening to harm them. And it's
like, you know, maybe ifwe took stuff like this seriously and weren't

(51:32):
just you know, rinse it getsyou in and then book back out on
the street. Because we decided todecriminalize crime for whatever reason, maybe that
would stop this guy from being ina position to go threaten somebody over a
bagel and terrify students and whoever elsewas in there. I'm telling you you

(51:53):
don't have to go all the wayto the capitol. You can start right
there. There's some advice. Allright, let's go to the phones.
Jake, what's up? Hey?Yeah, aren't that bagel brandisher? I
can say it's all about a responseto me, why it is a response

(52:14):
higher at the school. But it'sall your phones. Cut your phone's cutting
out, sir. You wanted toknow why it was the response higher at
the school because well, I youknow, keep in mind that they have
their own police department, right whoall right, but right? And most

(52:36):
of the teams who I have gonathrow the book at him? Now he's
not gonna throw the book at theearlier The response is not attack book team
for the guy at the gas station, there's actually assault is attack book game
for no assault, but just brandishinga fire on our school. These are
all legal adults at the school atthe gun free zone. It weren't a
very gun free that day or theday that the teacher was shot. That's

(52:58):
my point. Oh okay, butit but it doesn't matter whether you're in
a gun free zone or not.I mean, I share your frustration with
the stapidity of it. But whetheryou're in a gun free zone or not,
if you pull a gun out duringan argument, sticking in somebody's face
who's not like literally threatening your lifein some way and threatened to cut them,

(53:19):
it's illegal. It's oh, Idefinitely agree. I know, okay,
there is a response between the gasstations, but life is just as
valuable as a snowflake who wasn't taughtto be an adult on the in high
school and the grammar school. Butit's taught to be a snowflake and now
they're legal adults, but their liveswork more than the gas station guy.

(53:44):
As far as the Kirk, theguard gas stations, who I think he
was actually assault is looking not wellnow. The way I read it is
the assault was the sticking of thefirearm in their face, which is which
is a It is an assault.Church. I don't know if they actually
may contact I didn't see that theydid, but it doesn't matter. Meets
the requirements of assault. Here's theonly thing I would say to that.

(54:05):
I think I think we're talking abouttwo different things. We're talking one about
the initial the response of the police, right because it's two different departments we're
talking about here. You got campuspolice, then you got the City of
Chapel police. And I don't knowwhat the level of response was that they
gave to the gas station clerk, but you're right in the way in which

(54:27):
it's being treated, Like I didn'tsee Josh Stein tweeting about that gas station
clerk this morning or over the lastten days, the governor, any of
these activists, And it's like, you know, maybe this would be even
if you want to work on theother stuff, maybe this would be another
thing to spend a few minutes protestingor talking to local elected officials, especially

(54:49):
those in the criminal justice. Youknow, the police can only arrest and
charge them with stuff to the extentthat they can. And it sounds like
this individ Jewel is charged with whathe is alleged to have done. So
it police did their job, butthey don't control who gets bail and and

(55:12):
who gets you know, how thesentencing works. You know, that's an
issue there with the judges on thesentencing. That's and to some extent,
the prosecutor if they agree to thesesoft things. But all it's it's about
the the fervor that the prosecutor isgoing to have It's a it's a whole
whole combination of things, but you'reright, which one is the story that

(55:35):
is hyped? Now? The irony, of course, is this thing's just
down the road from UNC Chapel Hill. There might very well have been Chapel
Hill students in there at the gasstation by an a soda or something.
Uh Bill, what's up? Hey, good morning, Casey. I think
the problem here is we don't needless guns in school. We need more

(55:57):
guns in school. And like likeeverything else in life, the more prepared
you are, the better off youare. So I think we need some
legislation that says every principle and saythirty percent or so if the teachers need
to be trained to defense, andI understand that, but how does that

(56:20):
apply to this? What the incidentI got. You can't expect the police.
The police are an afterthought. Youknow, you can call the police,
but brandishing, you know, whetherit's a whether it's the clerk or
or you know, an elementary schoolshooting or whatever it is, or this,

(56:44):
if there's no if there's nobody aroundthat's prepared to help defend something like
this, it's gonna be the samething. It's gonna be an afterthought every
time. Well again, I understandthat, but you know there's a lot
you know, most bagel shops arenot technically and thanks for the culture.
You know, most bagel shops aroundor donut shops or whatever, they're not

(57:05):
on campus. They're off campus, right because it's you know, the vast
majority that you'll encounter during your time. If you want to go to a
bagel store, it's not gonna beon campus. But likely now it's not
a governmental issue. It's an issuewith company policy if it's a big change
or the decisions that the individual employeesor owners make. So and I can't

(57:28):
begrudge them, I can. Ican say I you know, if it
were me is this is what Iwould want, This is what I would
do. But yeah, anyway, seven forty four k c O Day radio
program. I didn't want to turnthat into a wider thing because the point
I wanted to make was the pointthat I made, and that is,
I'm reading about this dude doing thesame thing less than a week and a

(57:51):
half ago, and he's already outdoing it again. You think that guy
fears consequences, doesn't sound like itall right, Race Stagic from the weather
Channel. He's joining us, allright, man, I'm like we're we're
slowly moving into the good stuff.Yeah, we are tempts down a little

(58:14):
or close to where we were twentyfour hours ago. The breath of the
coolest air, less human air isstill coming in from the west and occurring
basically as we speak, as temperatureshave dropped around the triad anywhere from two
to it looks like five degrees fromtwenty four hours ago. See some chempionsture
drops here from twenty four hours agoacross the triangle two by about one to

(58:36):
three degrees. So the cooler asmoving in, seeing some clouds at sunshine
today, comfortable as the admitted,he's gone away a load of bit eighties
tomorrow near eighty, loads in thefifties in the morning, and even cooler
as we had through Saturday morning, load of mid fifties with some forties further
west. You go, and we'llhave a sunny day on Saturday and then
maybe some showers around on Sunday. All the action, Casey would lee is

(58:58):
out near the coast, into theOuter Banks coast to parts of north South
Carolina, there's coastal flood advisories andwarnings. Seven to ten foot surf already
seen some ten foot breakers and sawyou've got a water spout yesterday. I
saw a picture on one of thesocial media platforms. So water spouts are
possible, especially offshore, but kindof rough. For twenty four to maybe

(59:20):
thirty six hours, there'll be someflooding along the coast, especially those berries
normally prone to flooding. In theouter banks. Highway twelve, we'll probably
go under water. Not any typeof historic event, but still a pretty
dangerous the rip current risk is high, all that good stuff. So stay
away from the water if you areheading out to the beaches, at least
for a couple of days. Okay, all right, So like, let's
if you were somebody who's like itwas your birthday or whatever, and you

(59:43):
thought, maybe I'll go to thebeach this weekend, you would say,
be careful, right, yeah, careful person, probably yes to that person,
be careful, slowly improving by probablySaturday, and especially as we get
into Sunday. So all right, yeah, I think it rus with each
passing day after tomorrow. Well okay, all right, cool, cool man,

(01:00:04):
that's all yeah, is that somebodysomebody close to us? Here?
You know, somebody close to us. I don't want to be that guy.
Okay, but when you when yousay close, do you mean like
could turn on the phone right now? So uncomfortable right now, I'm not
We don't want to make anybody.I don't want to make a seal everything.

(01:00:28):
Right. No, no, okay, he's wearing he's wearing a king's
robe and he has a scepter. So just listen, listen. The attention
makes me uncomfortable. I'm not onefor self promotion. I'm like, no,
stop, yes, no, youretweeted the thing with the balloons.
I did that. Some people knowI didn't want the attention. Apparently on
Twitter fits your birthday. It doesblue stupid balloon stuff, which I hadn't

(01:00:51):
seen before. Maybe I've always donethat, I don't know, but it
is weird trying to re engage onthe X and you know, I don't
know if I'm doing a good job. But we'll see. Okay, oh,
yeah, there's the balloons. Yeah, he's ready there. What's going
on with that? That's pretty isthat attention is completely unnecessary, right,
I'm gonna re twitter it or wherethey call it now is a tweet or

(01:01:13):
re. I just say tweet becauseI'm you know, I'm not aformist.
I'm gonna do it. Look now, my whole couple hundred followers and now'll
know about it. This is sohorrible. Cross has gone viral. All
right, man, we'll talk inan hour when it will still be his
birthday. Thank you, yep, dude, for everything you've done for Olive

(01:01:35):
Garden. They should let you comelike the moment that they should just let
you eat gorge yourself all day forfree. If there was any justice is
what I'm saying, Which there is, and which is why I need to
vote hates for Sheriff. I don'tfeel like some of the stuff you promised
is what people would consider justice.Or listen, I'm just running for the
pension. Okay, okay, allright, we'll look at that. He's

(01:01:57):
honest. All right, seven fortynine, hang on, keeping you connected.
This is not a four five wPTI in the triad and one oh
six one FM talk in the triangle. All right, good morning everybody,
seven fifty three and uh boil boy, do we have a newsy of our

(01:02:19):
Florida Man series. So let's uhyep, get right into the back.
Florida Man, Florida Man. Issomething in the water, the air or
sand that makes you do all thatcrazy crap. It's like the state is
one be done ass trap. Nowhereelse has the Florida Man. It is
all almost like as the weird Factorclimbs, you'll find out it happened in

(01:02:46):
Florida every time. Florida Man,Florida Man. If anyone can cheer me,
if you know you can, doesmind life be crazy? But of
course, but it's not as badcrap crazy as yours. Nowhere else?
How are you gonna find him? They're so used to it they don't mind
him. Ready for Florida. Today, we'll be visiting the wonderful city of

(01:03:08):
Gainesville. Yes, yes, allyou football Florida football fans, here we
go. So Florida Man. JesseSmith accused by well law enforcement in Gainesville
of hot wiring and excavator and goingon going on a little little rampage.

(01:03:30):
According to authorities, he wrote aroundGainesville, went to a Walmart. In
fact, I'm not even doing itjustice. He actually took the excavator and
ran into or over four buildings andthe storage depot of Gainesville fences, two

(01:03:52):
utility polls, a loading dock, causing an estimated two million dollars in damage.
But he was just kicking it offbecause apparently as he's driving around,
running over publicly owned property, itdawned on him he needed something at Walmart.
So what did he do? Hedrove the excavator over to Walmart.

(01:04:14):
And you know, it can suckif it's busy, you can't get good
Parkin's hot in Gainesville, right,But he didn't worry about that. He
parked. He went over to theautomotive department and parked in it. And
I don't mean near it or nextto it. He drove the excavator through
the wall and parked in the automotivedepartment. He then hopped out, hold

(01:04:39):
on, we're not done. We'renot done, because you know, at
this point, maybe that wasn't thebest place to park your excavator. I'm
not sure that bad boy's going tostart after that, but he had other
plans because he had came prepared. He then jumped out of the now disabled
excavator and pulled out of whatever hehad. Don't know if he had a

(01:05:06):
backpack with him or what a machete. So he I'm sorry, what a
machete. Machete just it's pronounced machete, just seeing if you're following along.
Well, whatever it was, hehad one. So remember, this guy

(01:05:30):
has stolen an excavator, has destroyedfour different buildings, sheds or whatever,
run into him, power polls, all sorts of stuff. Now has barreled
through the wall into the automotive departmentat Walmart, grabs his machete and then
starts running through the store, screamingat people and yelling. He's it is

(01:05:58):
literally what he's yelling to people. You know, he's just he's just yelling
anything and everything about how much hedoesn't like Walmart, how he doesn't like
cops, how he has an excavator. Now, eventually police confront him.
He does drop the machete, butonly because he then challenged the police to

(01:06:20):
hand to hand combat, right, you know why, because he brought a
knife to a gun fight. Sohe wanted to go. He wanted like,
hey, we're gonna do this, let's do it honorably. And they
they just they just taste him andreached It was just about to because I
hadn't heard the story. My questionwas gonna be like, did he did?

(01:06:40):
Did he didn't realize that he broughtfist to a taser fight? Yeah,
that's that's unfortunately what happened. Butyeah, it's very sad. Mark
lost machete, his new excavator, and now he's in jail. We watch,
you know, the patrol live andmarkings upset because like every time they
run into somebody or questioning or anybody, I'm like, taste him, they
need to be taste well, Itaste him immediately. I have a feeling

(01:07:01):
that perhaps maybe you shouldn't be incharge of a taser. Would have taken
care of that woman up in thetree. Okay, see no, she
would have fallen out of the tree. Right, we mission accomplished. Okay,
Well, anyway, this guy's chargedwith all this stuff, right grand
the property, you name it,all the stuff, and he's he's actually

(01:07:26):
in custody, so right, andthey actually keep him in They're gonna keep
him in custody down in Florida becauseyou know, they actually like to apply
the law so he won't steal anotherexcavator nine days from now. Amazing,

(01:08:05):
All right, good morning, everybody, welcome to it. It is our
number three here on the gc ODay radio program Slash rosper Table. By

(01:08:28):
the way, somebody's like, uh, well, technically the guy with the
stolen excavate or it didn't drive intobecause there's the bay doors for the automotive.
No no, no, no,no, sir, no, no,
no, no no. The waythat he gained access was not through
where you would if you go tothe Walmart automotive like where they do the
automotive work. When I say theautomotive center, the automotive section, I

(01:08:51):
mean he drove into the section. He what he did is he drove it
was a big Kamatsu, one ofthe big big excavators. He drove it
up a loading ramp and got onthat part on the back of the store.
He then used the boom arm toknock down the wall and then drove

(01:09:15):
it in. So here's the problem. If I could, for just a
moment in my lifetime, I don'tthink, and there's been some good efforts,
I don't think that anyone will everunseat the top construction equipment stolen construction
equipment related rampage when killdozer exist,Do you know what I'm saying? Like

(01:09:43):
this guy made an effort but andit's obviously a bigger piece of equipment.
But when it comes to ranking maniacswith construction equipment going on rampages, I
don't. I don't. I haven'tseen anyone come close to what killed those
or dude did in Colorado. Ross, would you agree? You? I
mean, you see, he justwanted to be left alone. What's that?

(01:10:08):
The killed those are? Dude?Push them too far? I mean
really, if you look back intoit, they're like he had some serious
beefs and it it city officials werescrewing with this dude, and it looked
like there was some shadiness with thezoning stuff that they did to him.
I watched the whole thing that beingsaid. Some would say that he might

(01:10:31):
have overreacted, right, and somewould say, shall not be infringed.
Okay, I don't think that's Idon't think that's what they mean to kill
those. Okay, So the killthose are just for those of you know,
I mean, in all fairness, that's your opinion. I mean,
it was kind of an aar platformin the way that he customized did.

(01:10:56):
But I mean, I'm I'm slowlybeing drug over to your side. Man,
Well, hear me out like hehe he took the bulldozer and he
welded, you know, he bulletproofedit to the extent that he did,
and he was like he couldn't seeout of it. He had, but
he had a camera something he couldsee, and then there was a little

(01:11:17):
area where he could see. Andthen like he fortified the edges of the
tracks too in it so like theycouldn't disable it. I think this dude
thought it out and then welded, you know, welded all this stuff on
there, right he did the Ateam be a baracous montage when they're like
doing stuff to the van, youknow, and and they didn't they didn't

(01:11:40):
stop him. He stopped himself. He he made an unfortunate decision where there
was I think it was there wasa basement or a half basement or whatever,
which really kind of screwed him over. And then obviously, you know,
now they're trying to get him outof there. They can't even do
anything. But he was all in, man, I'm not encouraging it.
I'm just money now that this guyjust it seems like he was on drugs

(01:12:02):
and was like, hey, that'sa nice excavator, which I don't know
that an excavator is probably the thingyou want anyway. I mean, yeah,
you got the boom arm you cando some stuff with. But I
wouldn't say they're agile, not thata bulldozer is particularly agile, but it's
it's beefy man. I don't know, just a just a quick quicker.

(01:12:27):
We are not encouraging anyone to doanything like this, but they're fun to
drive. I've driven quiet, I'vedriven several different types of construction. Quote,
we had a greater that we partiallyon growing up, so I learned
to drive that quick and then wehad our attractors or whatnot, and I
have I have run a one ofthose Kamatsu's when I was doing the directional

(01:12:49):
boring, but I wasn't like verygood at it. There's some dudes that
can like make food with I don'teven how to describe it. Like dudes
are spot on. I'm I'm gonnakill somebody, so you don't want me
to screw with this thing. Butwhen you're just going willie nilly, uh,
you know, destruction of a Walmartand then some nearby city facilities,

(01:13:13):
maybe you don't have to be thatgood. But yeah, you will always
lose to kill dozer. That's justthe that's just the reality of things.
All right. I'm gonna let youin on a video, but I want
to warn you now. People arelike the tech No, okay, the
tank guy. The tank that's adifferent division. You're referring to the guy

(01:13:38):
who went to the National Guard depotwhere was it, Sandiago or wherever,
and took the tank and then wentcruising around town. Yeah, that's a
different division entirely. And I thinkhe got it. What did he do?
He got it high centered on likethe center divider. No, no,
no, no construction. I thinkI think stealing a tank or whatever.
Acquiring a tank and building your ownsort of tank is different, right,

(01:14:01):
yes, yes, two different, two different divisions. The effort is
completely different, right. You knowyou see these guys, You see these
guys who like have you know, like a highly customized car that they you
know, like they bought an oldthey bought an old Ford Mustang, right,
and then they spend you know, two years rebuilding it slowly or surely.
Or the guy who goes to thedealership. I don't get me wrong,

(01:14:23):
go to the dealership you want one, but you can you can tell
who put in the elbow grease,is what I'm saying. So yeah,
but anyway, I gotta I gottado this because I have to warn people.
But you I want you to knowwhat you're getting into. But it's
bonkers. So I posted this videoyesterday afternoon evening. Remember what time on

(01:14:50):
the on the Twitter at Casey onthe radio. It's Portland and it is
exactly what you think is going onat any given moment in Portland. And
it's in one short, sweet littlevideo. But I'm gonna warn you.

(01:15:12):
At a distance, they're not rightup on the guy, but you are
going to be kind of able tomake out what's up. There is a
crazy naked dude. That dude istotally naked. I'm just seeing it now,
Okay, Oh you hadn't. Youdidn't. Okay, there's like if
you're driving by and passing right, you're not like, hey, is that
dude naked? You're like, WHOA, That dude is naked. That dude
is super naked. And he's juststanding on the street corner downtown in front

(01:15:35):
of a burger joint, just hangingout. So in the video, which
Rossell's all right, we'll get Ross'sopinion real quick, then I'll fell you
know what's going on. That justscreams Portland, doesn't it? Yeah,
it really does, dude. Lookhow look how quick that naked dude is
though, like like he didn't evenact stunned. So what happens is,

(01:15:58):
all right, so you got nakeddude downtown Portland, stand in front of
a burger joint, just being Portland, right, And then you see all
the traffic round and then you seethis dude on a bicycle, some moonbat
who gives zero craps about traffic lawsor cars or any of that. He
looks like he's it's saying something tosomebody. I don't even know what it
is. Maybe it's because maybe thehomeless dude or the naked dude yelled at

(01:16:21):
him. It's it's hard to understandwhy he does this weird like turn around
in the intersection, like screwing overdrivers, but he does, and all
of a sudden, from the directionhe came from, he's he's now turned
around and he comes flying up thesidewalk and I don't know if he didn't
see naked dude or if he wasintentionally trying to hit him. But it's

(01:16:45):
moonbat on a bike slams into crazynaked dude downtown Portland, and within a
moment, naked dude is brawl,is beating this guy he didn't like.
There wasn't there is not, Thereis not a moment from a pause.
It's just game on. This nakeddude's been itching for a final day,

(01:17:08):
I guess because he's and then thosetwo are just going at it, and
that's Portland. That's it. LikeI The only thing that would have been
slightly more Portland is if the dudehad some more Antifa ish garb on on
the bike, because you don't wantto ruin the naked dude, right,

(01:17:29):
that's its own thing. So maybeif there's been a little Antifa lean on
it, some colored hair or somethinglike that. But otherwise it's they should
put it in their tourism spots. Not because families will want to come.
They'll be like, oh my gosh, I'm not going there. But people
who like watching weird crap happen, they'd probably be all over that. Because

(01:17:55):
you never know what you're gonna see. You have no idea what is going
into appear before your eyes. Well, you have a pretty good idea that
because there's apparently there's a lot ofnaked dudes around. I was reading some
of the comments, but if youwant to go see it again, it's
at a distance, but it isabundantly clear that dude's naked. I'm thinking
maybe I'm on team naked guy nowbecause I'm getting reports coming in that did

(01:18:18):
you hear what he's what he yelledat before he attacked the guy? Well,
no, we shall not be infringedsto. Corey just sent me that.
Yeah, okay, so you saidone person to you, who's a
problem, who's posing problems anyway?Like you'd be confused, right, Like
if you, for some reason you'relike, I'm going to Portland today downtown,

(01:18:41):
which I would never do. Butif I'm like walking around, like,
hey, I'm downtown Portland and Isee a naked guy running towards me,
looks like a lunatic, and I'mlike, whoa, and then he
opens his mouth and screams, shallnot be infringed, I'd be like,
well, that's a good point, and then he'd be on top of you
and then it's over. Okay. But but here's the only thing with that
naked dude. I hate to saydidn't. I don't say he wasn't bothering

(01:19:02):
anyone, because I'm sure people witheyes might have been bothered. But he
was just standing there. He youknow, he's just he's not doing anything.
He's just standing there being naked asas you. By the way,
I can't even I don't even knowif I could tell you this. There
was another I saw another picture anaked dude. So naked dude. He's

(01:19:27):
standing there, but he's busy, you know what I mean by that.
He's busy, busy guy, verydistracted, very busy. And they were
saying that that dude he literally there'slike a two block thing where he walks
up and down the two blocks allday doing that. So like there's a

(01:19:49):
bunch of naked dude known commodities inPortland. I have to admit, it's
been a very long time I've beento port I've been to downtown Portland,
but this was like I was inmy I'm sure it's a different place.
Oh yeah, I can't even imagine. I can't even imagine. And they

(01:20:10):
like I remember going there and Iwas in my teens. I was in
my teens when I went downtown.I'd been to the area since then,
but I never went downtown since then, And I remember we went there and
it was they had like it wasa little it was very kind. It
was really weird for a kid fromWyoming because we had went out there.

(01:20:31):
We had went out there as partof our church, a church group.
We did a trip out to Oregon, the Oregon coast and they had like
a camp or something. I wasone of these big trips I remember doing,
and we went in. We werein Portland and like the like you
had the whole key Portland weird thing, kind of the Austin vibe to it,
but like they had they had likebillboards or signs that had the effort

(01:20:57):
in it. And I just rememberas I'm like, it just was so
strange and like the people were verycolorful. Then you just weren't used to
seeing that. Wyoming I am.That probably seems like a normal downtown North
Carolina any city right now, youknow what I'm saying, compared to what
Portland is now with crazy naked dudefighting moon back, no, you consider

(01:21:23):
every area has changed drastically, right, the culture since what your teen's like
the nineties. Yeah, now, magnifying that by like a thousand because it's
Portland. Yeah, I would havebeen I think I would have been.
I would have been fourteen or something, thirteen or fourteen, So ninety three,
ninety four in there. Oh dude, all right, so there you
go, eight twenty. That videois there. You might have to scroll

(01:21:45):
down check it out. Ignore theignore the lower portion of the naked dude
if you can, but you mightcatch a glimpse. I'm just telling you,
but it is. It's crazy. And then go watch the big wedding
fight, the brawl with police. This is that's one of the craziest police

(01:22:08):
videos of them just having to dealwith drunks that I've seen in a long
time. It's all there for youat Casey on the radio. All right,
we'll take a break, come back, and we got to talk about
relationships of congress women because there's twostories, and one from each side of
the aisle. They both they're alittle tweaked and and frankly, I think

(01:22:30):
what they're doing with Lauren Bobert,I think it is about trying to cancel
a dude. I'll explain next hangon the show. After the show is
on the iHeart radio app search Caseyo Day for the podcast on the iHeart
Radio app. All right A twentyfive. Let me let me see if

(01:22:56):
I think fit both these in realquick. So we yesterday on the show,
we mentioned that to Lauren Bobert, the Colorado congresswoman. She was at
the Beetle Juice Musicool in Denver atthe Buell Theater and apparently she got asked
to leave and they had a wholeback and forth over it. I see
a lot of people trying to fillin the blanks on that who. I

(01:23:18):
don't know that I believe them, but she says she was she was thrown
out. She said she was thrownout for singing along. According to the
New York Post article, there wasalso security at the theater said that there
had been reports that she was vapingtoo and taking photos and they have no

(01:23:40):
photo policy. I don't know.I don't know what is I like because
I don't know, because I wouldn'tput it past people to go, oh,
that's Lauren Bobert. Let's get herthrown out of here, because that's
just how we are now, right, you just this is why you.
They screamed at Huckabee Sanders who wasjust trying to eat some food at that
restaurant in Virginia. Because this isthis is what this is what we were

(01:24:06):
told are the ways in which youconvince your political opponent of how how right
you are by acting like a BansheeAdam or in this case, having her
thrown out. So I don't know, but back then, she she was
thrown out, she left, Shedid wag some fingers and apparently apparently pushed

(01:24:30):
back on some of the stuff theywere saying. But she left, and
then people were like, Hm,who's that dude she's with? She she
had been married when she got elected, but she got a divorce and there
was another dude there. But thelevels to which they decided to take it.
So now people have figured out whothe guy is and they're writing these

(01:24:51):
they're writing these articles, and I'mtelling you the way that they're structured,
the way that they're put together. This is about reporters try to shame this
dude and maybe even get him canceledbecause they point out that he's a Democrat.
He's a bar owner in the mountains. Yeah, he owns the Hoochcraft
Cocktail Bar at Aspen, and he'sa Democrat and wait to hear some of

(01:25:15):
the language in the stupidity. Pluswe have an AOC story that kind of
works with this, so hang loose. Both are coming up. Thank you.
Kse Is on ninety four five wPTI in the Triad and one oh

(01:25:35):
six one FM Talk in the Triangle. Alright, thirty five, welcome back.
I'm gonna finish the Bobert story AOCand then we may have a new
top five for dumbest questions I've everheard asked in a news setting or in

(01:25:59):
a professional set, And that's sayingsomething you could maybe argue that it goes
uh, well, we'll get tothat to Bowbent, but we got the
audio. You don't want to missthis, all right. So I was
mentioning the Boberg story at day two. Then recourse reporters have to figure out
who's the dude she's with, andthen they find out he's a bar owner.

(01:26:24):
She know she owned a bar twoso I'm sure that that was at
least a point of conversation with them. And I really don't care who the
dude she's with, but I docare when I see where the whole thing
of the story is not. Hey, this is the guy, because he's
not asking to be famous. He'snot. He's just trying to go to
a theater. He's not the electedofficial. He didn't do anything. But

(01:26:49):
then of course the reporter's got tofigure this out. And then they find
out he's comes from a prominent Democraticfamily, and they go off the divorced
father of one scandalized his Democratic leaningfamily members by spending the evening with the
firebrand Republican. And then they startquoting anonymous I'm not making this. They

(01:27:10):
start quoting anonymous people who who knowthis guy or go to his establishment.
You know, I was very surprised. I always thought he was a cool
guy and a Democrat. I justknow his parents would be horrified. Dude,
I get the vibe they want peopleto go in and screw with this
guy's business. I mean, whatever, whatever could make me think that?

(01:27:36):
No, I think I think thereports figure out who this dude was and
what he's a trader and he musthe must pay, and he owns a
bar in Aspen and it is prettymoonbatty there. But that might it might
be the only thing that kind ofsaves him, because if he was just
in your standard, I mean, asking this guy a lot of hangers on,

(01:27:58):
but it's pretty It's not like CrestedButte or breck and Ridge or some
of the others where you have ayou have a very very very large selection
of not super wealthy people who justkind of ski bumm it out there and
choose to live there. So we'llsee, all right. So that's one.
AOC is the other one. She'sembroiling a little controversy because on some

(01:28:20):
of her official filings, specifically hertravel filings, she listed herself is married.
She currently has a fiance, butas far as anyone knew, she
wasn't married. But then on othersshe lists the guy is Riley Roberts,

(01:28:40):
as you know, fiance or not, And then on some she says it's
his spouse, and there's a bigproblem with that. You gotta be one
or the other for a couple ofreasons. One, it changes how the
travel works. It is more advantageouswhen putting together your travel stuff from a
finance standpoint if they're your spouse. But it's also more intrusive if they're your

(01:29:05):
spouse when it comes to your financialreporting, because you have to now also
provide all of their financials right, because they don't want a situation where I'm
not the one who made all thoseinsider trades. It was my wife,
right, So so her having itboth ways and obviously seemingly the good way

(01:29:28):
for a spouse on the travel sidebecause it's less money out of their pocket,
but on the financial side, nota spouse, so it's less intrusive
for them. Well, this isthis is how you get a house ethics
issue. I don't know whether they'regoing to open a full hearing on this,
but I don't know how you confusethat because you you physically have to
say you. She wrote on itthis is her spouse, but then didn't

(01:29:51):
didn't include any financials, so Ilook, I don't care whether she's married
or not. But that's a realeasy ze no no to avoid. And
when you see the pattern of it, it's weird how it's only on the
travel side where she wrote spouse soshe could save money, and then on

(01:30:13):
the other side now but those areall right, So those are the two,
So you try to do a littlebipartisan thing. I'm sorry, I'm
just super excited. I want toget to this. I won't be able
to fit it in before we getto Ray, you know, in the
library. I was just going back. We have some really dumb questions that
are pretty famous ones, right thatpeople reference. Who can forget Hank Johnson
talking to the military guys about hisconcerns with Guam. My fear is that

(01:30:40):
the whole island will become so overlypopulated that it will tip over and and
cap size. We don't anticipate that. I mean, that's that never gets
old. Doesn't never gets old.And especially the look on that military guy's

(01:31:02):
face where he's like, I'm justgonna answer this. Please. Guys like,
wow, this guy doesn't know whatislands are, all right, says
everyone. One that we like toplay is also Don Lemon. Don Lemon
with the former transportation official lady andhim doing the analysis of what happened to

(01:31:25):
Malaysian Airlines flight three seventy. Whatif it was hijacking or terrorism or mechanical
failure or pilot air but what ifit was something fully that we don't really
understand a lot of people have beenasking about that about black holes? Is
it preposters? You think Mary,Well, it is a black holes about
her. You know, a smallblack hole would suck in our entire universe,
so we know it's not that.Again, the power of her and

(01:31:47):
that general to keep a straight face. Chef's kiss. We don't have audio
of the Sheila Jackson Lee one that'sone of my favorites, but we do
have reporting on it, and itwas when she because she serves a district
in Houston, she went to theNASA facility in Houston and they had the
Mars rover buzzing around, and sheasked if the rover was could go near

(01:32:10):
the flag because Moon and Mars.Yes, someone that Mark Watney put up
there. Okay, well no,I'm pretty sure she meant the Armstrong one.
He was to make a potatoes andputting up flags. This was well
before the Martian came out. Soall right, so those are those are
a few top contenders, we wouldagree. So yesterday they captured that escape

(01:32:32):
spider man murder dude from Pennsylvania. All right, they caught him. They
caught him, and they were holdinga press conference about two hours after Uh
what is the what is the sheriff'sname here, or excuse me, the
officer's name. Yeah, Lieutenant ColonelGeorge Bivens held a press conference to explain

(01:32:53):
how Cavalcante was taken into custody withno shots fired. And then they started
to talk to about the escape itself. You know what all the dude was
up to the theft of that firearm. And one of the reporters has a
question about the disguises, because ifyou saw the reporting, they were talking
about how he was trying to changehis look and different things, and fired

(01:33:16):
a rather interesting question to the tothe lieutenant colonel about how crafty this dude
may have gotten when it came toconcealing his identity here it is there any
concern that he would team up withanother small man to step inside the trench

(01:33:38):
code little rascal style. No,that is a reporter. That is in
fact, actually he is a localreport. I thought I thought that had
to be a YouTube dude. Butjudging from the reporting here, they describe
him as a local let's say TVor radio or what and they just say

(01:33:59):
he's a low cool reporter. Allright, So but you haven't there's a
little bit of context. Dude isreally short, okay, the escape murder,
he's a short guy. And whileI obviously there's I think a little
humor in the way that the dude'sasking it. He's legit asking if like,

(01:34:19):
if you get two short dudes, could like they look like a tall
dude. And then this is amurder suspect that literally caused everyone to not
leave their house in a large spotthe Pennsylvania for several days, and you're
asking about the trench coat meme fromwhen babies or dogs want to move around

(01:34:45):
undetected. Dude, that's unbelievable.That's a real question. That's like a
real question. Like he wasn't beinglike stupid or like funny. That's I
have not seen anything where And Ilooked too. I saw this, and
I'm like, that's gotta be Ijust described as a local reporter. I
need to know who that guy is, all right now? Well and now

(01:35:12):
okay, So and I'm sitting therelooking so one of the people, one
of them, is claiming that itis a local crime podcaster by the name
of Michael Rainey. But I don'tsee that that's confirmed. What if the
killer did right, What if hegot into a trench coat, stood on
another guy's shoulders, whatever, andthey snuck into an Irata movie? Can
you imagine this dude's been doing truecrime prodcasts for too long and one it's

(01:35:35):
my goodness they did so. Ohnow apparently actually after he asked the question,
he was pulled aside by one ofthe communications people and they did ask
him to leave, but he didprotests saying he was asking a question.
So I don't know, take ofit, dude. It's up there.
I'm just saying it's up there inthe list of dumb questions. All right,

(01:35:57):
Race Agic from the Weather Channel. He's here. How you doing,
sir? Doing? All right?Yeah, well not our birthday, so
no, it's not allegedly it's somebodyelse's. But we don't want to start
spreading the rumors to make anybody uncomfortable. Actually, four people standing on top
of each other so they can beI will height to him to talk to

(01:36:17):
him. Yeah right, yeah, yeah, you'd have to be the least
that to get to my height. But headed to the coast and you're spending
like a late summer beach weekend. It should start approving by the weekend right
now. Multiple advisories for the Iguess fringe impacts from LEE, but some
of them could be fairly nasty galewarnings. I see high surf advisories.

(01:36:40):
There's rip current statement for high ripcurrents, beach hazard statement, coastal flood
advisories, coastal flood warnings, right, and they extend from the beaches of
South Carolina and especially into North Carolinaand the Outer Bank. So there'll be
some flooding, there'll be some beacherosion, rough seas, cuff, tough
couple of days. He meant tosay, out at the beaches with a
high rip current risk seven to tenfoot surf around the outer banks eight to

(01:37:04):
twelve feet, maybe near Cape Outlooking near the Lighthouse shore and the National
Seashore there Shackleford Banks six to tenfeet, same thing for a top sail
beach, so pretty rough out ofthe water, but actually closer into town.
Temperatures have dropped a couple of degreesnow and we're gonna stay comfortable over
the next few days, and maybeit's the last of the real high heat
and humidity over the next seven days. It looks like it. We won't

(01:37:27):
get into all that now, butsun add some clouds today. The clouds
are the further west agoach or thetry it in the mountains, so kind
of a mix loado mid eighties todayfifties tonight, very pleasant Tomorrow morning,
maybe one of those first nice deepbreaths of air you take in and enjoy,
maybe around eighty tomorrow and then onSaturday. Load of mid eighties and
a chance of shower Sunday, butit even looks like early next week,

(01:37:47):
pretty tranquil weather pattern, highs, load of mid eighties, upper fifties,
low sixties, and night lots ofsunshine. You know, we got that
little rain chance for Sunday and maybeinto Sunday night, but it's not going
to be a bunch. I thinkwe're going on a pretty good role here,
Casey. Obviously to the east, the impacts from Lee, they'll go
away, but even there we shouldsee some pretty nice weather after Lee passes.

(01:38:09):
Okay, all right, we'll chattomorrow, sir. Have it go
one okay, okay, and JeffBellinger joins us. Next, hang on
this one oh six one FM Talkin the Triangle and nears Talk five w

(01:38:30):
PTI and the Triad. Bloomberg update. Now, Jeff Bellinger, what's happening?
Okay? See, we have afresh back of economic indicators from Washington.
Consumers were still spending last month. There was more inflation at the wholesale
level, and the job market remainsstrong. Retail sales were up six tenths
percent last month. The producer priceindex jumped by a bigger than expected seven

(01:38:55):
tenths percent in August, and thenumber of first time claims for unemployment benefits
ticked up to two hundred twenty thousand, still historically low. The president of
the United Auto Workers says the unionand the big three automakers are still far
apart on several issues. The union'scurrent contract expires at midnight tonight. Sean
Fayne says the UAW will not calla strike against the entire auto industry,

(01:39:18):
at least not right away. Heis threatening, however, to call strikes
that selected gm Ford and Stellantis plantsand the Casey. The MGM resort's reservation
stite is still offline. That companyis struggling to recover from a cyber attack.
It's been learned that Caesar's Entertainment wasattacked just weeks earlier, probably by
the same hackers, and sources aretelling Bloomberg that Caesar's ended up paying tens

(01:39:42):
of millions of dollars to the criminalsto get its files unlocked. Casey all
right, we gotta do what yougotta do. I guess we'll talk to
you tomorrow, sir. Okay, sounds good. Take care. All right,
there you go. Jeff Bellinger,Bloomberg News. Did I read this
story in the Guardian right now?Okay? Because there's two. I also

(01:40:03):
had to look at the other onebecause I want to make sure I got
the numbers right. So this fromthe Guardian. You're ready, ross get
your bid you ever BS detector ready? Get you fire that bad boy up
for me? Yeah? No,it's always going okay, I never turned
it off. Well, then howdo we just talk about the boone big
beer and then like, okay, that's not what it is. I think

(01:40:27):
you just answered your own question.Huh. Okay, all right, here's
the deadline. Environmental activists are beingkilled at a rate of one every other
day. Those are the twenty twentytwo numbers, and if you do it
over the decade, it's it's roughlyit averages about that. So uh,
in twenty twenty two, they sayone hundred and seventy seven environmental protesters were

(01:40:50):
killed. All right, they didn'tdie of old age, they were they
were killed for protesting, and alltold it's been seventeen hundred over the last
decade. M So what you think, Yeah, I'm gonna say no one
that one. Oh you don't thinkso? Huh. I have been racking

(01:41:12):
my brain trying to figure out.Now. Look, don't get me wrong.
There are incidents, especially when youget into parts parts of South America,
Mexico, but basically where you haveclandestine drug stuff where environmental activists have
gone in there, and that's stupid. Okay, don't get me wrong.

(01:41:36):
Obviously, what they're doing out therewith you know, with making the drugs
and the chemicals they use for refiningcocaine and all that, it's not environmentally
friendly. That being said, hoofingit out to it so you can protest.
I don't know that's that and andthat is a thing that happens,

(01:42:00):
but I did check it. Theyonly claim that that accounts for one fifth,
one fifth of the number. Sothe rest of the fourth where is
the other ones happening? Because wheneverI see one of these idiots, are
they is there? Something like aweek later the glue kills them. I
seriously want to know. That's whatI was saying, because we got tons

(01:42:23):
of stories about idiots gluing themselves atthings. There being some you know,
I accidentally encased my leg and cementor whatever it was, but they're still
here with us. I had to. I racked my brain the only ones
I can think of. And again, the way that they pitched this is
they're being like, you know, people who hate the environment are coming up
murdering them. You have you havethe dude who set himself on fire in

(01:42:45):
DC last year, right, hewas an environmental activist. He was all
in. They counted, they countedManuel Paya's arran in here. He was
one of the people who attack policeand tried to murder police in Atlanta,
Okay. And then they had thechick who fell off the bridge, and
then the three who lived in atunnel in the woods and the tunnel collapsed,

(01:43:11):
and I was I was me tryingto find the numbers, and that's
what one, two, that's five, There's a lot more to go.
So and I don't buy it either,
