Speaker 1 (00:00):
So of course we talked with our official Husker fan,
Ritchie and Papillion. Ritchie. I'm uh, I have a theory
with an open date. I have a feeling of what
you do on open dates. You go for the library,
you go for walks in the park, and you practice
for your next life. Where you say there's going to
be no football.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Right, you know, that's pretty good, but that's not what's happening.
It's never an off day during football season, you know that, right,
And I'll be you know, we'll be visiting a little
bit tomorrow, but now there's games tomorrow and then I
got my Sunday. Never the next off days in February
for me.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Yeah, I hear you. Well, you were happy though that
your giants fired some people.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Thank god, you know, I mean, you know, they gave
us something now, so now we move on and we'll
see what happens. But yeah, that was a good day
for me. I think it was Monday, whatever it was,
that was a good day. So yep, that was good.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
I think I just just as an aside, Richie, I
don't think the Almighty really cares who's coaching the New
York Giants.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Well, he does care. He does care.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
He does.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
We all care.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
I care what he's on the New York Giants.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
We all care, and I know I care, so you know,
we we It was a good day for me. So
now we move on and see what happens this weekend.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
What are you what are you looking at this weekend
with the Huskers Island?

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Well, you know, like he was saying before, we definitely
got to heal up. We're gonna have a physical game
the next couple of games, and uh, you know, rest up,
get a good game plan in. You know, we're going
to get our quarterback two weeks of prep, which I
think is I thought he looked really good last week.
I mean really good. Where next year, I'm hoping there's
a competition. I don't think this's gonna be, but I'm

(01:40):
hoping because we're going to lose him. If not, he's
got to be a competition, you know. And I love
the way the game was controlled. And I think our
offensive line is improving all of a sudden. So maybe
the offensive line coaches the lights on. I don't know,
but I don't know, but you gotta admit the last
three weeks they're getting better, and you know, and our
running back. What can you say about the highschan Man.

(02:02):
He's the best running back in college. And I know
he's not going to get any votes or anything. His
running backs very rarely do. But he should at least
be invited to New York. I think he's one of
the four, but he was. He's just wonderful and I'm
hoping he comes back next year. I don't think he will,
but you.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Know, well, he'll probably do that thing where he checks
out where they get there, they get their analysis from
the NFL right about where they.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Might will be a top three round pick. He has
to go. And do you really want to get beaten
up for another year? I don't know. We'll see unless
the check here is better, I don't know. But he's
just a wonderful player. And you know, on the other side,
the defense made plays. QB hurt us like we thought
he would. But you know, you know what I really loved.

(02:45):
We closed the game out. When was the last time
that happened?

Speaker 3 (02:48):
So No, it's been fun to watch him. And let's
see what his NFL draft stock looks like after the
Penn State and Iowa games.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Third round.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Yeah, yeah, U C l A is a dreadful. That's
not really a test, but these next two will be,
and he could go from a fifth to a third,
maybe even a second round pick, depending.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
On how he does.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Jim, there's no way he's a fifth round pick. He's
a third one.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
Yeah, not right now.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
I mean I think that he's he's I think he's excellent.
I think he's the best back here since a mirab Doulah.
I think he and a mirab Dula are the two
best backs of the twenty first century.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
He does everything, He catches, he blocks, he does everything.
He's a leader. It's a tremendous player. And I would
love if he's sitting there. I'm hoping we take I'd
love to have him.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Yeah, the Giants.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
But he needs to Frankly, and I hate to say this,
but he needs to go because the lifespan of a
running back in the NFL is only about four and
a half years. You don't want to spend another year
in the Big ten getting hammered because that just cuts
down on your ability to make a lot of money.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
In the NFL. And there is still better money in
the NFL.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
And that's the thing. He'll carry the ball at twenty
five thirty times. He's just taking a tremendous beating. So
I'm pretty sure he's going to go.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
I bet, I'll bet you. I'll bet you what he
will do, though, just from what I've heard and read
about his character and looking in his background of Minneapolis,
I'll bet you if he decides to go to the NFL,
he will still play on the bowl game.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
He won't. He won't abandon some of.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
These I agree, I agree, And who knows, we might
have one of these Florida ball games. You win the
next two, that's nine wins.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
It's looking like it. Yeah, it's looking like the Tampa
is the possibility. What I don't want to do is
play Vanderbilt down in Nashville.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Who cares about Vanderbilt.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
They're pretty good. I don't know if you've watched them, watched.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Them, but when they needed to win, they didn't do anything.
Take care of Vanderbilt.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Yeah, now that's my richie. Yeah, it's all coming out again.
But I would direct you to some of their games
this year. Watch you spend tomorrow watching their games.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
I know when they win, didn't they collapse against Texas?
Didn't they do that?

Speaker 4 (04:56):
They were right there at the end.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
They were right there, everybody right there.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
No, no, no, everybody's right there.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
They banned the boat Nashville.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
If they want, why not, Fine, here we go.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
You know what, it was a shame about Iowa. Last
week was another.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
I know, I know that bothered.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
You're Richie and Man. We'll talk next Friday before the
Penn State game. That's our official Husker band, Richie and

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
