Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, welcome to the Lori de Young Show podcast. If
you missed our show today, we're sorry about that, but
here are some highlights for you. Be sure to catch
it tomorrow every weekday morning from five till ten, or
on the iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
App Saday's Best Country ninety three point one w POC
Baltimore Now top stories at the top of the hour.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Yeah, it's gonna stay warm today with near record high
partly sunny skies in a higher round eighty. The record
for today is eighty one, so we'll see if we
surpass that. It's going to stay warm tomorrow with highs
in the mid seventies and possibly a chance of rain.
Then we'll cool down to more seasonal attempts for the weekend.
Once again, staying on the topic of weather, forecasters say
Raphael has strengthened into a hurricane now as it swirls

(00:41):
across the Caribbean. Raphael's now the eleventh hurricane of the
twenty twenty fourth season. The storm is expected to keep
growing before it makes landfall in Cuba today. The National
Hurricane Center says the Lower and Middle Florida Keys could
experience tropical storm conditions beginning later today. Or tonight, Donald
Trump is taking a victory lap as it appears as
though he has won on the election. He spoke to

(01:01):
the election night to watch party in West Palm Beach, Florida,
around two thirty this morning, just as news services called
Pennsylvania for him. At the time, he had not yet
hit the two hundred and seventy Electoral College votes you
need to officially win the White House, but polling from
some states that was still left report showed that that
was probably going to happen, and as if it was
a little bit ago, they did officially call a couple
more states I think, or they called Michigan, which would

(01:22):
give the win to Donald Trump.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Let's see here.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Kamala Harris's campaign is not yet conceded at this time.
One of her campaign managers said they will continue to
fight to make sure every vote is counted and that
every voice has spoken. They did confirm though that she
will give a speech today, but a time for that
has not been listed as of the last that I saw,
but it is likely it will be a concession speech
later today when that happened. So there is your national
election updates.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
All right, coming up on your brief Bethany, what's on
your mind? It seems a.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Bit odd to talk about anything besides the election.

Speaker 5 (01:51):
We're gonna try, okay, including who is the father of
Gypsy Rose's baby?

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Thank God, We're going to get down to the end
of this one. Yep, I will let you know.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
I know.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
Plus how much is the new Mission Impossible movie costing?

Speaker 4 (02:07):
The number will shock you?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Okay, all right, we're ready to be shocked. Well, I
don't know if I can shock you anymore than then
you already have Oday, got dad n ninety three point

(02:29):
one w poc hi Bob, Hello, ladies, how did your
voting go yesterday? Problem? No problems at all. Not super busy.
There's a line at the machines. But it was I
did the paper one. You did a paper one. Okay. See,
I was saying this morning, how when I did the
electronic it actually took longer because there was only two stations. Yeah. Anyway,

(02:52):
well you made the right choice, Bob. Okay, all right,
let's see. I saw this the other day, so I
want to know what everybody else does when they get home.
That said sixty one percent of women say the first
thing they do when they get home from work is
change out of their clothes and switch into pajamas or sweats. Yeah.
So first thing you do when you get home, Bob,

(03:13):
kick it off.

Speaker 6 (03:14):
Let's see, uh, let the dog out, feed the dog,
walk the dog. And then what's I've done?

Speaker 1 (03:19):
All that?

Speaker 5 (03:20):
I do?

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Get into more comfortable clothes. Yeah? Are they wetpants? And
other other people were asking, not just me, Oh you
forget it.

Speaker 6 (03:33):
I got like plaid sort of like sleeping pants type
of thing.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
That's not the Grace supposed to be hot. Oh is
that according to Beth?

Speaker 7 (03:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:45):
I totally missed that. That's okay, he doesn't listen here.
Pants are the hot things. Yes, supposedly they're making a
big good.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
God, Bob, you should get some graceweatpants today, wear them
later when Vicky gets home, and then report back.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
I don't think saying it wouldn't do it for me.

Speaker 6 (04:02):
I don't think anybody the boss is here today.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Okay does he wait? Does he have grace wet pants off?
Check that he w's the first thing you do when
you get home.

Speaker 5 (04:14):
Take my bra?

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Who now, come on, you know that's true. Yeah, that's
not the first thing I do when I get home.
The first thing I do is I take the dogs around.
We have a circular driveway, so I walk all the
way around, make sure everybody goes to the bathroom and
is comfortable. Then I go in the house and get
something to eat. Okay, I first thought, I gotta have

(04:36):
a little something, a little snack after a while. Yeah,
same Pierre, use the bathroom, Oh, first thing when you
get home.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
I have I have like a thing with public restrooms.
I try to avoid them at all costs. I wait
till I was that kid, like in high school, if
I had something going on after school, I'd like run home,
use the bathroom, then come back.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
They call it shy bladder. More than just the bladder.
I know, I know shy everything for you tonight if
you're Uplate, Bailey Zimmerman is on Fallon and I've got
a little good news story because this is the time
of the year. Now that we're through the election, we're
through Halloween, we're on the Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving that's the next thing.

(05:12):
So everybody has the deals. But listen to this. I
think this is pretty cool. Does it pronounced lteles? Is
that how you say the market? Okay? Litel's Thanksgiving meal
can serve ten people for forty five dollars. Whoa four
fifty person? Not that? And you can get it now
through November twenty seventh. You get turkey stuffing, gravy rolls,

(05:33):
mac and cheese, and the ingredients to make mashed potatoes,
sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pot Wow.
There you go. There's forty five dollars. Target do it
for twenty five, though, but maybe that's for four. Oh okay,
so this is forty five for ten. That's pretty good.
That's a better deal. That's the best deal. Like, yes, okay,

(05:55):
so that is a good news.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Everybody's meal, though it looks like the tiny tim meal
Christmas Carol two bites.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Oh listen.

Speaker 5 (06:04):
On our text, somebody said the first thing I do
is take off my bra.

Speaker 7 (06:08):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
I actually thought that's what women would say as their
number one Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Girling, you call it quiz.

Speaker 8 (06:17):
You could have done your.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Kids, Morgan Wallen. It's nine minutes after eight.

Speaker 7 (06:32):
To keep us in the loop of entertainment and pop
culture and the things we shouldn't care about, but somehow
we really do. Easthree on ninety three point one.

Speaker 5 (06:43):
Thanks to all the people who've been texting this morning.
Seven seven ninety six two is the number. If you
want to text us, you have to begin your message
with hi or hey, so that it gets to us
here in the studio. I want to know what are
you doing today? Is anybody staying home from work in morning?
Is anyone having a party to celebrate? Are you immemorating
this day at all? Or are you just trying to
get on with it? I want to know, okay, because

(07:05):
seventy seven percent of people say that the future of
the nation is a significant source of stress in their lives.
That's a lot of people. People are losing faith in
the government. Fifty four percent of people say they have
little or no trust in the government. So obviously this
is affecting us. And here are some tips if you
are struggling today. Experts say that you should recognize what

(07:27):
you can and cannot control. You should get local, educate
yourself in local issues because that's a lot of the
times that's where the change really happens. Focus on the future,
take care of yourself, and if you need to go
ahead and distract yourself, like for instance, we can talk
about Richard Gear. He has sold his Connecticut home for
ten point seven million dollars. He's moving to Spain, and

(07:50):
like I said, it doesn't have anything to do the election.
His wife is actually from there. They agreed to live
in the United States for several years and then move
to Spain for several years. So I love their compromise.
It's very adorable. Okay, here are a couple of TikTok
trends that I want to pass along.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
One of them is called the three three three rule.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Okay, So this means after three dates you should know
if there's a spark with the person. After three weeks,
you know if there's real potential. After three months you
can decide if you want to make it official or
move on.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
I think you can tell before three dates if there's
a spark.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
I think this is generous, right, three is generous.

Speaker 7 (08:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
I think people just like cute little listing.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
Right. I would like to add another three three years, Like,
if it hasn't in three years, if you haven't like
locked it in, maybe it's time to move on.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
I don't know. It took me like five years to.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
You would have been tossed out in five years, did it?

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Okay? So maybe? Okay, Yeah, I think that's different for everybody,
and what age you are when you first start dating.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Uh huh okay, I swear my wife saying to me
when she was giving me like some grief not being
engaged yet, just you know, for fun, I was like,
what's the difference between we're doing now.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
And being engaged?

Speaker 3 (09:05):
She's like, well, permanence, And I was like, there's nothing permanent, honey,
Like you have to keep it on her toes.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
I can knock out of here at any minute.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Nice, save well.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
Same Pierre doesn't have gray pants on today, which.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Is kind of gray? Are they gray? Like there are
parts that are more gray than others. But oh, now
you're trying to get into the gray cats. I would
say overall black. But if you were to look at them,
you'd be like, Okay, that's great, I can see that.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
Well, I'll take a peek and I'll let you know.

Speaker 5 (09:37):
But apparently gray sweatpants are having yet another Oh okay,
they're having another resurgence.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
I do like how you assume I'm wearing sweatpants.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
Isn't that you're I thought it was a uniform.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
So strikingly funny that sweatpants are a thing like that.
That's the thing that gets you going.

Speaker 5 (09:57):
Well, a guy in gray sweatpants is apparently immediately comfortable.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
That's what they are. What is it about the gray
that's so oh?

Speaker 5 (10:08):
You know what?

Speaker 4 (10:09):
In it's about the gray?

Speaker 1 (10:10):
No, I don't Is there something else to explain this.
I don't get it. I don't get the sweatpant thing
at all.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
Okay, I avoid gray in most cases, Like I don't
think I look good at.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Guys.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
I'll show you.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
I'll show you some pictures they show where she shows
a lot of things better, Saint Pierre. I think every
color shows what you're talking about. Gray is better.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
I said, distract yourself from the election coverage. That's how
I'm doing it.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Okay, Hey, she's looking at pictures of men in gray sweatpants,
all right? Coming up here in just a few minutes.
We've got a gift card to give away. So we
do have a little trivia, and I'm it has nothing
to do with any politics. Or we did that trivia yesterday,
so we'll do that in a minute. We've got a
partly sunny forecast. Around eighty will be the high today,

(11:00):
but it's sixty four now.

Speaker 6 (11:07):
Zon.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
It came brown in marshmallow ninety three point one w POC.
So it was nice to have your daughter home for
just a little bit.

Speaker 5 (11:15):
Yea. Yeah, she drove home in the afternoon and we
went and voted together, and she was so cute. Like
we were looking up all of the people that, like,
I don't know, people always look up do you know
what I mean? Yeah, yeah, and you know, we looked
up every single judge and we looked up at you know,
she was really really cute.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
It's to it.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
Yeah, we were like, you know, looking over all the
question Jay and all this. She's like, Mom, do they
really need eight million dollars for parks and streams? And
I was like, I don't know, I don't know the answer.
So anyway, she's she was really cute. She took it
very seriously.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
It's a budget girl.

Speaker 5 (11:51):
Yeah, well she has her own, you know, things that
she believes and it's very cute. And so I was
just really proud, like of her and all the young
people really because in our particular election location, like there
was some kids from a local college that were doing
like exit polling for their class and stuff like that.
I was like, real, I was really recharged by like

(12:12):
the amount of young enthusiast.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. There was a woman, a young woman,
a senior at a high school in Prince William County,
Virginia that decided, you know, this is the first time
she could vote. She was apparently eighteen, and so she
wondered how many other kids who are graduating with her
could also vote were of age, and then she organized
like a week long voter registration drive during cue one

(12:36):
shower at the school. So it's like, I agree. There
was a lot of enthusiasm too, from younger voters, first
time voters. Saint Pierre, you guys, you and your wife
went out voted together.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
We we do the mail in things, so we get
our ballot sent to us and then we fill it
out at our leisure and drop.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
It is the greatest thing. Yeah, Like people love it.
A lot of people did it.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
When you make things easy for people, more people will
vote and they'll participate. And I think that's why you
see Maryland at the top of these lists for like
most percentage of voters that take part in elections, because
they make it easy for you. Yeah, you know, you
see a lot of stuff like what is it organ
that I think you can only do by mail or
something like if you make things easy, like you were
just talking Bethany about how you guys did your research.

(13:18):
It was great to have the ballot in front of
me and able to say, Okay, I don't know this name,
let me look it up right now, and like you're
technically not supposed to do that when you're in the
voting books. Yes, yeah, like the wording of some of
those questions can be tricky. So it was great to
be able to sit look at it, analyze it at
my own pace, you know, look up some information about it,
and just do it as I wanted to, and then

(13:39):
just drop it in the drop box and we're good
to go.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
You know, it's funny you said voting booth, because all
of a sudden I had a flashback. I'm remembering and
maybe I'm making it up. So somebody's going to have
to help me, because I'm a lot older than you guys.
So I remember where it was a booth that you
went in. There was like a curtain around it. Yeah,
I did that, Okay that before? Okay, is that not
how they're done?

Speaker 3 (13:59):
I mean, i'd spend so I think the last time
I voted in person was two thousand and eight.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
It's a good cardboard. Yes, you know how that if
you ever watch a Jeopardy how at the end when
they do the bonus question, they put these little things
on the side so nobody can look over at your question.
It's kind of like that where you're just standing at it.
But I'll tell you what happened to us. So my
husband and I went voted together. We tried to go
a little earlier than lunchtime because it gets kind of busy.

(14:24):
But I love where we go to vote. And I
like the actual act of going out and voting. I
don't know why. I just it's exciting to see other
people out there. I guess I'm not sure why. And
you get a sticker, and you get a sticker. I
got a sticker with my mail into you get a sticker.
It does come with the sticker in there so you
don't lose it. But they ask you at the beginning,

(14:45):
when you're getting ready to go, do you want to
do it electronically or do you want a paper ballot?
And I'm thinking, well, I'll do it electronically. That sounds
quicker like, And then I realized it actually wasn't because
they only had two electronic places. You have to like
wait because I thought, oh, it's gonna take forever to
do a paper ballance. So my husband, who picked the

(15:08):
paper went through and was done much sooner than I
because I had to sit and wait for my But
everything went fine and it was I don't know, it's
just there's a good feeling that I think you get.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
Do you want to say one more thing about like
the mailing things, because I have a friend that won't
do it, and their main concern is and I'm not
trying to push you either way.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
As long as you vote, I don't really give a
crap how you do it.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
But I have a friend that won't do it because
they're concerned that the vote will not get where it
needs to go, which I think is a viable concern.
You hear all these stories about people lighting ballot boxes.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
If you're mailing it in. But I will say, like it's.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
Lost, I got I get a text and there's a
web that says they got my ballot, Like there's a
website you can go to check the status.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
Has it been counted? Has it not been counted?

Speaker 3 (15:49):
So they do like when they spile it like it
follows all the information. There's a tracking to it so
you can know when it gets there and when it's
counted and all that. So I never knew that they
do a pretty darn good job with it. Wait, that's helpful.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
When we when I got home last night, Turner was like, Mom,
let's he's fourteen.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
Mom, let's watch Purge election.

Speaker 5 (16:08):
Yeah, And I was like no. I was like, I
was like, I'm going to watch the results, Like I'm
going to watch the come.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
You stayed with until how late.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
Like eleven eleven thirty.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
He's like, nerd. I was like, whatever, I'll be a nerd.
I don't care. My husband said he made it until
about one third. Oh my gosh, Yeah, I can't believe it.
Here's Jacob a.

Speaker 6 (16:34):
Full moon shining, Brian's in the water.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
We were feeling all right back down a country road
the Girl Mommy Jay.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Post alone with Blake Sheltons seven minutes after sex.

Speaker 7 (16:51):
I keep us in the loop of entertainment and pop
culture and the things we shouldn't care about but somehow
we really do.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
He's beth An a breath.

Speaker 5 (17:02):
So a fun new baby naming trend for little girls
is giving them old man names, like what like Tommy, Scottie,
Mikey Billy. Uh. They're calling the trend my best friend's dad.
So you would, you know, think about your best friend,
what is her dad's name, and then that's what you

(17:23):
would name your baby. So anyway, I think it's kind
of fun. I always when I was little, I always wanted,
like my name to be Sam or Joe or something cool.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
I like James for a girl. I know, is it
Lively Blake Lively that named Oh? Okay, I think they
have a James, don't they. Oh, that's somebody does, and
that's kind of pretty.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
We talked about Elliott, I think, which can go either way.
But like we talked about Elliott for for our daughter.
There was another one too that I can't think of
right now that we talked about that. I was like, Oh,
that'd be.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
Cool our son Taylor. That's girls or boys. It goes
either way. Most people he meets named Taylor are women.
I don't know any girls named Taylor. Is there someone
that we know.

Speaker 5 (17:59):
That we are optimistic? News from the Royal family Kate
Middleton is feeling strong enough to return to the gym.
She went to spin cycle class yes, and then a
source close to the family. Says that she's also returning
to the church where she was raised because, you know,

(18:19):
due to the cancer, she's been more interested in returning
to her faith.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
So I think that happens a lot.

Speaker 5 (18:25):
Yeah, yeah, Gypsy Rose Blanchard, I know that you've been
on the edge of your seats. Okay, She's pregnant with
her first child, and she has now confirmed that her
boyfriend Ken Rker is the father, not her estranged husband
Ryan Anderson.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
She says she knew all along, so okay, okay, it's funny.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
Gypsy Rose is one of those names that every time
it gets brought up, I have to spend it just
a minute being like, wait, who is she?

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Yeah right, I still don't know who she is.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
I do a solid eye roll every time.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
I uh.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
The production of Mission Impossible eight has had its difficulties
to the tune of about four hundred million dollars. Can
you imagine there are only four other films to have
done that so including like Star Wars, Jurassic wring Back.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
Though Like, even though the last one didn't do as
good as they wanted it to, it was still a
top ten grossing movie of the year.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
So like it's gonna it'll make it.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
It'll make four hundred million.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
Probably, it probably will make up. I mean I could
look it up for you, but it'll take a minute.
It'll probably make about a billion dollars. Mission impossible movies
make a lot of money, just the eighth one.

Speaker 5 (19:29):
And then lastly, artificial intelligence can do a lot of
things right. Can't win crossword puzzles, which I think is
really interesting. So they put in the crossword puzzle competition,
they put an AI like presence up against a real
crossword puzzle human and the human one and.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
The AI just gave up. So I think that's pretty interesting.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
They do that with Jeopardy once they did people played
against the computer. Oh did they do that? And I
can't remember what happened, but anyway.

Speaker 5 (20:02):
Apparently they just didn't get the nuance of like the
clever clues. Yeah, like they just couldn figure out quite Yeah,
so that I was hopeful about that a little bit.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
I don't want the AI to be able to do
everything we do. Let us have something I don't know,
like maybe post selection.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
Fine, you know what I mean, let's just give up.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
I do look it up enough curiosity. While we were
talking the last mention impossible. So the one in twenty
twenty three did make about six hundred million dollars, so
it made its money. Okay, it made its money back
and then some all Right.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
I don't know that's the kind of investment.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
I'd it seems like a bad investment. I'm not arguing that. Yeah,
I just imagine they'll do good enough. He'll be fine.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Yeah, Yeah, I'm not worried about them making the money
or not. Yeah. Coming up, something we talked about. Bethany
brought it up on Monday that thirty eight percent of
us say we feel kind of stuck in a rut socially,
and I want to talk about that and see if
you're feeling that way. So we'll we'll get to that next.
We've got a partly sunny forecast, a war up around

(21:01):
eighty for the high. We're closer to sixty. Read a
live cam. It's Morgan Wallen in Ernest ninety three point
one w POC. We'll get to Ella, Langley and Riley
Green here in a minute. So a survey came out
a few days ago about how we're feeling socially, and

(21:22):
here's what it's said. Nearly four and ten of us
have not been to a party in the last six month.
It's been at least a year since we saw a
concert with a friend. We don't hang out with our
friends as much as we used to. Fifty eight percent
describe their current friendships as fun and ever changing, but
a quarter say their social lives feel very repetitive. I

(21:43):
think life in general can feel repetitive, Like you eat
the same kind of meals, you know, see the same friends.
But I started thinking, you know, I wonder if now
going to concerts. That's something that's part of our job.
So not talking so much about that, but do you guys,
I feel like socially you have been different in the

(22:03):
last few years, Like, have you noticed a change? I
think since the pandemic. Yeah, that's what I think. Yeah,
for sure, pandemic.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
I don't know if I would blame the pandemic, but
we had a kid during the pandemic, so I mean,
I guess I could say since the pandemic. But I
do think having a toddler is a different vibe and
it does change the world, like there's no more.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
Hey, you want to get dinner tonight? Like, no, we
got a plan for this.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
Yeah, this spontaneity of what we used to be like
is just no longer there. It makes sense, So that's different. Yeah,
I mean I do think. I just think the world
is a different place. Like, I think people are working more.
I think there's more stress. I think people are much
more comfortable with saying no, which is a positive thing.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
Yes, but like.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
But that also people used to feel guilty into saying yes,
so you would do more things. So there is that
element of it too, I think. But yeah, the world's
just a different It's just a weird place for a
lot of people.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (22:51):
I want to protect my little energy that I have
and I don't want to give it.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
Away to people you don't want to hang out. Yeah,
but do you feel overall, Bethany, that you spend less
time with other people, like in a social setting.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
I think yeah.

Speaker 5 (23:09):
I think I personally learned how to enjoy being alone more.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
Yeah, when we had to be alone and then.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
There was something refreshing about it.

Speaker 5 (23:17):
Yeah, personally I had never done that, befure like, and
I was like, oh, this is no wonder people like
to just hang out.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
This isn't so bad, this is pretty lit. Yeah. No,
I think that's right. I think since that, and I
would say for us since the pandemic, because you know,
my husband had underlying health issues, so we had to
be very careful. So I think we chose whether we
were going to be around groups of people or how
we were going to do that. And then after you

(23:45):
do that for a while, I think it does kind
of change how you approach things. And so I just
noticed we don't have we used to have a lot
of dinner parties. We haven't had as many of those
since then. We'll we'll have one just so we know
we can still do it, you know. And a couple
of my closest friends moved so over the last couple
of years, so that changed a little bit the people

(24:08):
that because I think when you work full time, there
are certain there's only so many hours in a day
to do everything. If you're if kids are a family
in town, you want to be with them, so you
don't have tons of time to hang out with friends.
But when the friends that are the closest to you
go in a different direction, you're like, they're not here,
So now what do you do do You just kind

(24:30):
of try to fire up some new friendships. I think
the older you get it's harder to do that. So yeah,
I don't know, but we want to know how you
feel about it. Do you feel socially like you're just
in a different place, Maybe you feel stuck. Tell us
about how you're doing on this too, before we close out.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
Like my wife and I were joking yesterday we bought
a couple of things at Ikea because we're trying to
trying to switch my daughter's room into a different room
of the house. So we're like rebuilding some things for
and it's the process has been going on for the
entire year so far, and it doesn't feel like it
should take that long. But like, I just think we
get to a point in our day where we're so
burnt out right that when it comes to the free time,
like the weekend, we either want to do something fun

(25:09):
and enjoyable.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
Or we don't want to do anything anything.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
If my wife made some comment like here's a project
we'll start and you won't get done from like yeah,
but you know what, Like I'm tired, man, Like I
like that I'm not just not doing it, Like I
just I don't want to go do it right now.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
I need to breathe. I'm like that too. Only if
I go do it, then I will feel better like
that I got something accomplished. But it's the forcing yourself
to go do it. Sure, that's yeah, that's where you
get stuck. So if you're feeling stuck seven seven nine
six two, is the tech start with higher? Hey, tell
us where you're at and do you want to change it?

(25:45):
Are you happy where you're at?

Speaker 7 (25:46):
Like this social thing?

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Here's Ella Langley and Riley Gray. I was all but
twenty two. I think at the time I've been out
on the road to.

Speaker 8 (25:57):
Nine five Selyn's last gabam back.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
I'm allowed to never knowed.

Speaker 8 (26:03):
When you lose yourself, you found they Paradise, Zach Brown Band,

(26:29):
Jimmy Buffett.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
Seven minutes before seven o'clock, It's.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Nashville News Now with Saint Pierre on ninety three point
one WPOC all right to our adopted sister. Kelly Clarkson is.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
Set to host NBC's annual special Christmas and Rockefeller Centers.
She announce during her show yesterday that she will perform
during the program as well, which we would expect. Kelly
hosted last year, so it's a return to the role
for her. I think she did a good job.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
Last year. It was a fun show. It's always just
a fun show, Like that's the whole I think that's
the whole point. But she fits that vibe well and
she's got a new Christmas song she does, so.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
I'm imagining she'll probably be singing the new one. She's
got that song with Brett Eldridge. I would imagine Brett's
going to be a part of the show too. I
look back, it's so funny because we've talked about this before,
but Bethany and I used to be on a group
text years ago when Kelly Clarkson started her TV show,
and the whole text was about how long is this
show really going to last? Because we're just like, I
love Kelly, but it's just not good. And here she is, like,

(27:22):
I think she's really grown into it. I think she
really has like learned and grown, so good for her.
Other than just Kelly being there. In our assumptions of
who's going to sing, we don't have any details about
any other guests at this point, but we do know
the show is going to be on Wednesday, December fourth,
so we'll give you details as they come. Kelsey Ballerini's
appearance on the new ABC drama series Doctor Honesty is
coming up tomorrow. She's been pretty tight lipped about the

(27:45):
cameo so far, but a trailer or commercial, whatever you
want to call it for the episode has been running
and it shows Kelsey in a group of wedding guests
on board the cruise ship for a big celebration. During
an appearance on a red carpetback in September, Kelsey did
say that in her episode she is quote screaming, crying,
throwing up literally, so I imagine she gets sick on
the show somehow, So we'll see what happens tomorrow night

(28:05):
on ABC. Ballerini has said she's trying to be comfortable
by opening herself up to new opportunities and this will
not be her first acting role. She also had a
guest spot in the show Nashville back in twenty sixteen,
but obviously that was a while ago. I do think
it's interesting because she's dating actor Chase Stokes, and she
said that they're both very supportive of each other's careers,
but they also try not to infringe on the other's

(28:25):
career world as well. But she told Et a couple
of months ago that she always calls acting his world,
but then decides she wanted to try it because she's
in this season of her life where she's open to
doing things that's scarer, and she got a lot of
comfort from Chase. She said that Chase told her it's
not my world anymore. It's just a world that I
am in and you are welcome here. And that's a
very supportive statement, like a very big things. I'm sure
that helped her in this move. So looking forward to

(28:48):
seeing what she does on the show. I've never watched
the show.

Speaker 5 (28:50):
I tried to get Turner to watch it with me
yesterday and he was like, no, It's like Gray's Anatomy
in Below Deck And I was like, I mean, I guess.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
It kind of. And You're like going, what's wrong with that?

Speaker 5 (29:01):
Like?

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Those are two of my favorite shows. That'll sit down
and the pop Guard over all, Right, We've got Shabouzzi
ninety three point one WPOC is a bi stuff.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
Day's Best Country ninety three point one w POC Baltimore
now top stories at the top of the hour.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
Pump is now the president elect. He has reportedly earned
enough Electoral College votes to secure the two hundred and
seventy needed to win the election. Kamala Harris is expected
to speak this morning, but no word on the timing
of it yet, at least none that I've seen, but
will keep you posted as that information comes out. I
want to take a look at things here in Maryland
that voters had on the ballot, so we'll talk a
little bit more localized election stuff. Angela also Brooks will

(29:44):
become the new Senator from our state. She took more
than fifty two percent of the vote to de viet
Larry Hogan, who earned about forty five percent. Some votes
are still being counted here, so the percentage just may
shift slightly, but experts believe it's safe to call these
races at this point. Baltimore County Executive johny Olshcheski will
become a new repor presentative from District too, easily winning
his race. Other representative races stayed with the incumbents, except

(30:05):
for what's going on out in Western Maryland and District six.
I don't know if we have any listeners out that way,
but it looks like with an estimated one hundred percent
of the votes counted, it's showing fifty to fifty split
between the two candidates out there in District six, so
we'll see how that one works. The state wide Question one,
which would give women the fundamental right to reproductive freedom,
one easily not on votes are county up, but nearly

(30:25):
seventy five percent of the state approved of this. There
were obviously a lot of other elections, depending on what
county or district or area you live in. Since we
are technically a Baltimore radio station, i'll give you a
couple of the Baltimore races. Brandon Scott easily won a
second term as mayor and z Cohen will be the
city council president. A couple of the questions that were
being watched on the ballot, including Question E, which would
give control of the Baltimore City Police Department to the city,

(30:47):
that did pass. A lot of people don't necessarily realize
that the Baltimore City Police Department is not controlled by
the city. It's controlled by those in Annapolis and has been
since before the Civil War. And residents also approved of
Question F, which would pave the way for the development
of the Inner Harbor.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
So we'll see how that shapes up to you. That's
your new some date, all right, We've got those tickets
to give away Thomas Rhett Jiffy Lube Live, August twenty second.
If you'd like to go to that show, Caller nine,
that tickets are yours eight hundred and three two one
thirty six ninety three. But a little music while you're
calling in. Here's Tyler Hubbarn back then right now on

(31:28):
Deli roll ninety three point one w POC. So there's
a little bit of angst in the neighborhood.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Yeah, it's just it's one of those stupid things. So
I live in a neighborhood. It's all row homes, so
everybody parks on the street. There's not like you know,
driveways and stuff. And there's this car that we've noticed
in our neighborhood over the last I'll say six months,
just as an estimate.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
It's kind of beat up.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
It clearly has been in an accident, and they've you know,
needs needs some work done, needs some help. But then
the other day I noticed that there was a tire
leaning against the car, and my assumption was that they
changed the tire and they just left the older one
kind of there. Well, then that tire then moved onto
and this is right, this is like I have an
end unit in the row homes, like I have like

(32:07):
the corner of the street. So when you put something
on the sidewalk or on that little patch of grass,
that's technically my responsibility. That's part of my property. So
now the tire ends up on my property, it's in
that little patch. So I'm like, oh, that's annoying. So
the car moves, you know, whatever, does its thing, it
comes back. Now the other neighbors are upset about this too,
because my wife follows all the next door stuff and

(32:29):
all me on like the Facebook group or whatever. I
don't I've spent any time with that, but people are
like taking pictures of being like what's going on here?
Like people are seemingly backing us. But then I start
noticing that people in the neighborhood are putting the tire
back on the car when the car comes back, like
they're leaning the tire against the car, and then it
ends up being then put back onto my property and
the car is gone. The car comes back the other day,

(32:49):
I know it's the car didn't even park there. They
parked in a different spot because they were like maybe
they were kind of sick of the tire.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
Popping up.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
But the tire was like against our fence, like they
had taken the tire away from where it was. I
moved it all the way against my fence. And now
I'm like, the garbage men don't take tires, Like now
I have to be the one responsible for figuring out
where to bring.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
This tire still there? You know, so this is interesting.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
So since I brought this topic up to you today,
I don't see the tire. Oh so I don't know
where now. The car itself is even worse shape now
than it was before. I don't know what happened, but
they're going I have no idea. I don't even I
don't even know the person that owns it. I think
i've seen them walking around. I don't know them. They're
not one of my immediate neighbors, so I don't even
know which house they live in or which.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
House they're staying it. But I just like, I don't
know where the tire wents now.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
I'm really curious, like did they finally get sick of
it and someone finally say like.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
Hey, you've got to take care of them, right?

Speaker 3 (33:40):
I don't know, but I was like, we had to
call We called three one one to get like a
bulk pick up schedule, but that takes like two months
them to come out and get it, because like I
don't want to make a whole day out of driving
the tire to the local you know, wherever you bring
the tires here. But it's what's funny is that, like
my wife, we don't have an HOA, but there's a
group of folks in our communit that called themselves a
community association. They organize things like the dumpster Day and

(34:04):
a block party over the summer or whatever that we
don't have to pay for them. Like I think it's
like ten bucks a year if you want to. But
they're not forcing anyone to pay for it. But they
even like message my wife and we're like, we're so
sorry that you guys have to deal with this. We're
so sorry this is happening on your property. It's not
your bone, it's just but it's just enough of an annoyance,
is my point.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
Like, Okay, is it interesting that the whole neighborhood's getting
on people.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
Like we're moving, Like the people were initially leaning the
tire against this person's tires, so like like just someone
leaned it against the front of the car, so they
couldn't just drive away.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
They had to physically go move. This is so baddy.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
One day, I think it's a woman that owns the car.
One day, she just drove away. The tire had been
leaning against one of her tires. She just drove away.
Now I was a tire in the middle of the road,
just like sitting there.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
Maybe it doesn't belong to that car. Are we like
that is certainly a possibility.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Now, I think we're making an assumption that given the
state of the vehicle and other things that we've seen.
Like there was somebody about a few months ago that
left a bumper against my fence and I was like,
what is this?

Speaker 1 (35:05):
So I had to bring the bumps.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
So when dumpster day came along, I brought the bumper
to the dumpster for that so that was very helpful.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
But I was like, who's leaving leaving this tree?

Speaker 3 (35:13):
I expect to see some trash because we're on a corner,
so like you know, wind blows trash whatever, I get it, Like,
I expect to see some trash along our property. It's annoying,
but we pick it up. But like a tire is
not just some trash I.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Think you need to.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
Here's here's exactly how you're going to deal with this.

Speaker 5 (35:27):
You're going to make a social media account for this
car and be the car and like troll everyone.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
Just troll everyone. You need to do to who took
my tire? That'd be perfect for Twitter if I still
use But here's what I'm thinking. Think if that tire
isn't that woman's ye, I don't think it is, And
then she's thinking, what's going on with this tire?

Speaker 3 (35:53):
I just don't know where else it would come from,
because I know all of the other vehicles and all
the other owners that park in that general read.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
I don't know who else would just leave a tire
right now. But you would think you'd be so embarrassed
at some point that people are knowing it's your tire,
if it is yours, that you would do something. I guess.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
Yeah, No, I mean, I guess you make a point.
It's not I don't believe it's I don't. But I'm
not judging her for this because we do have people
that rent in our neighborhood and they're lovely human beings.
I don't believe she owns a whole I think she
rents or she's staying with someone, so she's not like
she's not someone that the neighbors know, you know, like
you don't know who this human being is. So yeah,
we're making a judgment the tire is hers based on
the situation, but yeah, it might not be.

Speaker 1 (36:31):
But it's such a wild like it is kind of
it's like the mysterious tire that's pop up. Where will
it show up next? I don't think the car is
drivable anymore, so like I don't know where that car.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
Like like one of the time, like the driver's side
tire that's on the car was like tilted like at
an angle.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
I'm like, I don't know what just happened. But now
her tire is like literally falling off. Going bad for
this woman with this.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
I mean I kind of am tore, Like I do
have sympathy for the man. It's been not like drama,
not like that much. Look, I'm not going to fix
her car. I can't.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
Oh, here's Dustin Lynch, my stars Like in Feted they
were in the back of that als
