Today's Best Country ninety three point one w POC Baltimore
now top stories at the top of the hour.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown is joined a bipartisan coalition
of attorney's general calling on Congress to you pass the
Kids Online Safety Act. The coalition wants to see the
legislation pass before the end of the year, stressing the
urgent need to address the crisis of youth mental health
link to social media use. In a letter, Brown and
more than thirty counterparts are urging Congress to maintain the
provision and the bill that guarantees it would not preempt
(00:43):
state laws that provide stronger protections.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
We'll say.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
In the social media world, Instagram announced that users will
soon be able to manually reset the algorithm that determines
what you see in your feed. So in theory, Instagram's
algorithm is designed to show you things it thinks you
will like based on other posts that you've interacted with,
and of course anyone who uses Instagram knows it doesn't
always work that way, and the company is letting you
reset and start over. Apparently, this move is particularly designed
(01:08):
to ensure teenagers will see more appropriate content. I guess
their theory is that if teens are seeing things they
don't want to, this will give them the opportunity to
start over and train the algorithm in a different way.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
The changes come as Meta and Instagram in particular have
been in a continued target for safety advocates, who say
that the social media platform has been shown to have
adverse effects on younger users, so we'll see if this helps.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
Them at all. In the public opinion pool, you may.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Not be ready for christ music yet, but it does
appear that everybody else is. According to Spotify, the streaming
giants Christmas Hits playlist has surged to the number one
playlist slot in the US this week. What's more is
that it has seen double the streams compared to the
same time last year. Spotify says as of number first,
its started to see a dramatic uptick and streams for
iconic Christmas tracks. So don't be ashamed if you're already
(01:52):
playing Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You?
Speaker 4 (01:55):
On repeat? You are not Alone?
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Yeah, a lot of the free iHeartRadio app. There's a
whole Crew Smith thing you can check.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
You find that there too.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Yeah, I just thought he'd throwing in. All right, coming
up on your brief, Bethanie, what are you thinking about today?
Speaker 5 (02:06):
I've got another reason for you to move to Canada
that doesn't have anything to do with the election. Okay,
and uh, well, have you ever wanted to tattletale on
your boss?
Speaker 6 (02:15):
I've got a way for you to do so.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
All right, Post Alone with Blake Shelton on ninety three
point one WPO STA Ho, it's Sarah Church. That is
about five minutes till seven o'clock.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
It's Nashville News Now with Saint Pierre on ninety three
point one WPOC.
Speaker 7 (02:40):
SO.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
I think this news came out just after the morning
show yesterday, but it looks like post Malone is ready
to hit our area next year on a massive stadium tour.
He's dubbing at the Big Ass Stadium Tour. It'll kick
off in April and stop in twenty five different stadiums.
One of those will be Northwest Stadium in Landover formerly
FedEx Field. That show will be on June second, coming
along with post will be Jelly Roll. Looks like pre
(03:01):
sale tickets will start on Friday, and I imagine this
one sells pretty quick. Post Malone is also set to
play Coachella, where he's expected to headline. The full lineup
for Coachella twenty twenty five next year has not been
announced yet, but it's confirmed that he has quote one
of the three main acts that is set to play.
So twenty twenty five looks like it's going to continue
to be a good run for Post Malone. When at
(03:21):
CMA Awards Week, there's lots of events going on in
Nashville leading up to the big night. One of those
is the Seasack Awards, which on her songwriters, composers, and publishers.
Among the winners this year was Megan Maroney. She earned
the Spotlight Award. Warren Zeider's song Pretty Little Poison one
Song of the Year, so that goes to the songwriter
of that tune, and Songwriter of the Year went to
Jaron Boyer, who was responsible for George Burget's Mind on
(03:42):
You and others. So I just want to say a
quick congratulations to those artists and Bailey. Zernermann has been
relatively quiet lately, which is kind of surprising because his
career kind of got off to such a fast and
hot start and we felt like we saw him everywhere.
But Bailey says he had to step away because he
was already starting to feel a little bit jaded. After
his first four singles all went to number one. He
told People magazine that he wasn't feeling satisfaction with the success.
(04:04):
Bailey said he thought about putting out a new record recently,
but he didn't really like the music that he was recording,
and he wasn't really in a good point in his
personal life, so he just took a step back, which
I'll be honest. I had a chance to hang out
with him quite a few months. I want to say,
it's like March or something, and in our conversation I
felt it was kind of strange, like he was talking about,
like honestly talking about like trying to fabricate a publicity
(04:24):
stunt to get people to pay more attention. And I
was like, dude, I don't think you need that, Like
I don't think you need He's like it's working. Great
for Morgan and Jason el do you and all these people.
When I was like, yeah, but you don't need to
have that, like in your career, you're doing fine, Like
you don't need these things. So I'm kind of glad
he did take that step back and just sort of
like let life happen around him. So then he said
he heard this song holding On that he just released
(04:45):
last month, and that kind of reinvigorated him and got
him back into it. So we'll see what he's got
up his sleeve. I think he's performing at the CMA
Awards tonight, so we'll see what goes on with that.
And I hope that he has found what he needs
because he does seem to have so much potential and
so much like stuff that could come in the future.
Speaker 6 (05:01):
It was like you needed to like get reinspired.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Yeah, that might be it. So hopefully he's found that
inspiration because I do I do like him as a artist.
He's got some great physics, so yeah too.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
All right, thanks for the update. We've got Nate Smith's
world on fire, ready to go ninety three point one
double D D L State.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
Growing You calling quiz you couldn't yeh Balle.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Daghaballey ninety three point one WPOC. It's Morgan Wallen. So
there was a survey done recently about how happy people
are in America with their marriage proposals. Okay, so I
did put it up on our Facebook. How would you
grade your marriage proposal? Catherine said, by conventional standards, not great,
(05:54):
but it was perfectly low key for us. We were
in the kitchen, I was cooking. He showed me the ring.
I said, pretty, he said, will you my response, yes,
but get out of my way. The chicken's burning. Okay.
Thirty nine percent of us would give our marriage proposal
an A plus. It's not bad thirty nine percent. But
the average person says they would change two things about
(06:16):
the proposal, the location and the ring. I guess a
lot of people were unhappy with the ring.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
Thanks.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Only thirty six percent of those questions said their partner
got down on one knee.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
Oh I thought everybody did that?
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Yeah, I mean that didn't happen with us. What about you,
Saint Pierre?
Speaker 5 (06:35):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (06:35):
Yeah, I did?
Speaker 1 (06:36):
You got on one ee yeph and your husband did
to Bethany yeah, oh okay, yeah.
Speaker 7 (06:43):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Fifty percent of the people taking the survey said they
wouldn't change anything. If they could do it over again,
they would leave it exactly as is. So what about you, guys,
Saint Pierre, do you think everybody was happy with the proposal?
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Hey, you know, it's a good question. I don't that
my wife was upset with it. It like I kind
of did the whole proposal around the adoption of a
new dog in the house. It was kind of my
way to lessen the blow of bringing a new dog home.
I proposed to her the ring that she wanted, So
in the madness of our dogs meeting each other for
the first time, I got down on one knee and
(07:19):
it was kind of like, so, let's make this family
official like kind of thing. So I feel like for us,
like in our world, like I feel like that worked
like for the two of us in our personality.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
But I don't know.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
I don't know if my wife wanted something like a
little bit more romantic or like a little romatic. No,
she didn't want the dramatic thing, like she had said
over and over again, like if.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
You people hiding in the bushes, right, like if if.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
We were at like a baseball game and somebody proposed
in the big sh She's like, if you do that,
I will definitely say no and you'll never see me
again like that. So she didn't want like a big,
like dramatic, like huge thing. But I do wonder if
like it was just so chaotic in that moment that
it kind of took away some of the oh wow,
we're getting engaged kind.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Of public poss that would never have worked.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
I don't think she wanted like a big like there's
horns behind this bullshit, And I don't think that's when
she wanted. But at the same time, like it would
have been nice to have someone that could have taken
a picture of us or something, you know, like I
don't know, so there, I think there if we were
to be nitpicky, yes, we probably would change some things.
Speaker 5 (08:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
I know one of my kids did, my son Taylor.
They they had friends, just a couple of their closest
friends in the house when he asked her so that
they could get the video, and but it wasn't like
a house full of people. It was very intimate. Still. Yeah, yeah, Bethany,
when you were married and how did that.
Speaker 5 (08:37):
Proposal go with I think I probably would have changed
the person I saw that coming he did a mile
away kind of did.
Speaker 8 (08:49):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (08:49):
No, it wasn't great.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
I think it wasn't particularly romantic.
Speaker 6 (08:53):
No, it was pretty terrible.
Speaker 5 (08:54):
But uh but that's okay because you know, in the future,
will we will suss out those red flags.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Yeah yeah, but he did get down on one knee. Yep, okay,
all right that he did yea. Ours was very matter
of fact because my husband did not ask. I was like, look,
we got to figure out what we're doing because there
are other things going on and it all depends on
if I'm going to stay in this town or another town.
So we basically just talked about it and then decided, okay.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Yeah, Like that's kind of like it wasn't the same
thing for us, but like it felt sort of similar,
like we had a home together, we already owned a
house together. We like we were doing so many things together.
It was kind of like we already felt married. So
there was an element of like this is just kind
of like the official yeah thing of sign off.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
Yeah right, yeah, all right. If you want to talk
about your marriage proposal and give us some thoughts, insights, whatever,
you can text us seven seven nine six y two.
Just start with higher, Hey, you can post something up
on our Facebook. You can call us that numbers eight
hundred three two one thirty six ninety three. We're here
for you in a variety of wak Oh, we'd love
(10:01):
to know what you think. Here's Ella Langley with Riley Green.
Speaker 4 (10:07):
How is all about? Twenty two?
Speaker 1 (10:23):
DestinE said Jelly Roll nine minutes after six.
Speaker 8 (10:28):
I keep us in the loop of entertainment and pop
culture and the things we shouldn't care about, but somehow
we really do.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
As Bethany Bree on ninety three point one.
Speaker 5 (10:39):
Sydney Thomas a name you might not know, and I'm
not sure if you should, but I'm gonna tell you.
Speaker 6 (10:45):
I'm gonna tell you who she is.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
She's a University of Alabama student who gained viral fame
as the ring girl during the Mike Tyson Jake Paul
Fight the Other Day.
Speaker 6 (10:56):
To be her social media media.
Speaker 5 (10:59):
Following Skyrock, she has almost a million followers on TikTok.
Speaker 6 (11:03):
After being basically a nobody.
Speaker 5 (11:05):
Netflix is claiming one hundred and eight million worldwide viewers,
the most of any live sport residuous.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
I know there's no way A third of their subscribers
across the world watch this show.
Speaker 5 (11:16):
I just don't buy it first right, that's an insane number.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Also, I don't know what it says about my algorithm,
but I definitely already knew who Sidney Thomas was before
the fight happens.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
Oh uh oh.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
And I also think many others in I'm pretty I'm
pretty sure her following was already hundreds of thousands of
people on Instagram, which is why she got chosen to
be a ring girl for the fight in the first thing.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
They did discover her on Instagram. That's accurate. Yeah. John
Stamos posted a photo supporting Dave Coolier. This is Uncle
Jesse and Joey from Full House if you were keeping track.
So Dave Klier's battling lymphoma. John Stamos posted the picture
and he's got a bald cap on as a show
of quote solidarity, and some fans are criticizing him because
(12:01):
they think.
Speaker 6 (12:01):
It's shallow, like you're not really like she just put
a fake boxe huh.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
But Dave Coolier says the gesture was humorous and you
know it's as lovely and it's their relationship, So leave
him alone, I guess.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
And you can't cut John Stables's hair. That's half the
person right there is That's why he keeps getting the
jobs because of the hair.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
Does have nice hair.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
Yeah, the voice Champ Sundance head.
Speaker 6 (12:27):
Did you guys hear this story?
Speaker 4 (12:28):
This is a little while.
Speaker 5 (12:29):
Uh. So he was shot over the weekend and nobody
really knew what the story was.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Well, now he was. He was shot loosely. He shot himself.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
He shot himself with his hunting rifle, which was in
a bag on his seat, which I'm pretty sure is
not how you transport it.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
He left the gun loaded. Yeah, fired.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
He said that several people drove by and saw him
bleeding and didn't stop, but he is.
Speaker 6 (12:52):
Thankful that somebody did stop and help him. I'm like what. Uh?
Speaker 5 (12:57):
And then lastly, what should you do at the Thanksgiving table?
Speaker 4 (13:01):
Right?
Speaker 5 (13:02):
Bringing uninvited guests, criticizing the food, salting the food before
tasting it, showing up late.
Speaker 6 (13:07):
Those are always terrible things to do.
Speaker 5 (13:10):
But experts are saying the most rude thing that you
can do is use your cell phone at the table.
Speaker 6 (13:17):
Okay, so don't do that.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
That's the only way I can get through Thanksgiving dinner.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Is to use your cell phone at the table.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
I think I would be, as the host, more insulted
if you criticize the food than if you.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
Use your phone.
Speaker 6 (13:31):
Yeah, because I just think people it's like part of
their hand.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Now I'm the first person to criticize the food, and
I made it.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
I was just thinking, you said salting the food is bad.
The first thing my dad would say at every Thanksgiving
it is can you pass this off?
Speaker 8 (13:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (13:45):
Right, there's not going to be enough sault on that.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
Oh you guys may maybe shoot shoot everybody at your
table this list before or before Thanksgiving.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
We're gonna have three toddlers at our house for Thanksgiving,
so there's not gonna We're all gonna be chaos.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
I'm not going to be dropping by it.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
We're probably not even going to be at the table.
It's just going to be like wherever you find a
spot hang out.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
All right, coming up here in a minute, we're going
to talk about how we feel about our marriage proposals. Okay,
there was a study taken recently, kind of interesting. We'll
talk about it. We've got a chance of some showers
around today, but mostly cloudy highs in the mid sixties.
We're at fifty one degrees right now.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Details it's a Day's Best Country ninety three point one
w POC, Baltimore now top stories at the top of
the hour.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
Temperatures are set to rise into the sixties once again
today under plenty of clouds and some light southerly winds
and on the round of rain. Showers will come into
the area tonight, possibly with it some thunderstorms that don't
be shocked if you hear some thunder out there later,
win will turn. Winds will turn gusty overnight. So if
you've got anything like pots, because I've lost so many
flower pots over the last couple of weeks as the
winds have been around, make sure you've got those secured.
(14:57):
Then we have on and off rain showers expected on
third and Friday, with a big cool down coming our way.
We'll see hies basically top out right around fifty give
or take a degree or two for tomorrow and Friday.
Resident like Trump has nominated a few more names for
key positions within his cabinet. He's named Linda McMahon as
Education Secretary. She would lead the Department of Education. However,
Trump has campaigned on a promise to get rid of
(15:18):
the Department of Education. I don't know what her role
would be when he does eliminate that department. McMahon is
the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, better known as
the WWE, and she also donated about twenty one million
dollars to Trump's twenty twenty four re election campaign to
me personality. Doctor Oz has been nominated to lead these
centers for Medicare and Medicaid services, the CMS Overseas Medicare, Medicaid,
(15:39):
the Children's Health Insurance Program, and healthcare dot Gov, which
currently provide covers nearly fifty percent of Americans. Doctor Osturing,
his failed Senate run in twenty twenty two, has supported
privatized Medicare, putting more costs on the policy holder themselves.
He and his wife also on hundreds of thousands of
dollars in stocks in United Health Group and CBS Health
Insurance that make a substantial revenue from private medicare plan.
(16:00):
So there's a couple more nominations for you. We'll see
how that goes when the Senate adjourns and takes a
look at all those. That's your news updates, all right,
coming up.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
On your brief.
Speaker 5 (16:07):
That's an I feel like Saint Pierre just did the
Celebrity Report, but it was the Cabinet Report, I'm sure. Anyway,
So Uncle Jesse and Joey are at it again.
Speaker 6 (16:17):
They've made people mad. I'll tell you why.
Speaker 5 (16:20):
Plus what is the rudest thing that you can do
this Thanksgiving?
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Okay, all right, better tell us.
Speaker 5 (16:26):
Now.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Here's Dustin Lynch with jelly rolls.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
She was just kille.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
I was in my boo Today's Best Country Morgan Wallen
ninety three point one w POC. We'll get to Kenny
Chesney here in just a minute. But you had something
kind of funny happen. I mean, I'm sure it made
you crazy.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
Yeah, I mean it was kind of funny. There's not
a ton that my daughter does that makes me crazy crazy.
Most of the time, I do find the humor in it,
but then I'm also like, we got to fix this,
you know. So I find when she's with me, like
and we're like hanging out in the house, like she'll
be playing with her toys and her dolls or whatever,
doing her own thing, and like she'll ignore me half
the time, like just do her own thing, which is fine,
(17:10):
Like that's that's what a kid should be doing.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
The kid should be playing. So it's it's all good.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
The second though, that I need to stop down and
need to do something myself, then it's like all things
break loose. So I had like a work call yesterday
and I was like, I just need like twenty or
thirty minutes to get this done. I was like, listen,
if you need me, I will be in My stuff
is in the basement. My work office is in the basement.
That I will be in the basement. Just come get me.
You know, I'm listening if you, you know, have a
(17:36):
problem whatever. So I'm down there for like maybe I
don't know, five to ten minutes, and she comes downstairs
and she just looks at me and she's like, daddy.
And I'm in the middle of this call, and I said,
I'm sorry, my daughter's here. I just need to go
talk to her. I look over and she's covered in pen.
So she had found a pen and she drew.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
I was like, what happened to you?
Speaker 3 (17:53):
And she goes my hand drew on my legs and
my arm, and I was like, what do you mean
your hit She's like, well, I didn't want it to happen,
but my hand drew on my.
Speaker 4 (18:04):
It's like, you know, you control your hand.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
You're trying now, I'm trying to rationalize with a near
four year old, and she's like, no, my hand did it.
I couldn't stop it.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
She didn't want any punishment for this.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
And I'm telling you, like she's covered, like on her
one hand, she's got like she drew she's into drawing
like faces and people now, which people are just basically
a circle with eyes in her mouth, and then like
arms and legs that come out like even worse than
a stick figure, but it's kind of cute. And then
she her legs are just covered like she just drew
lines everywhere like a photo. I'll show you, Bethany. It's
like she was trying to draw like a tribal tattoo,
(18:37):
like on her legs. Like she's just covered in bed.
And I'm like, like, I just go back upstairs, like oh,
like I'll be done in a few minutes.
Speaker 4 (18:45):
Just go just like, no more drawing on yourself.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
And then I get upstairs and she's got this grin
like she she doesn't love it when we have to
scrub it off, you know, we gotta we gotta wash
this off the whole time.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Yeah, because she's gonna think you were paying a.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Bit of a mom's gonna be like, why are you
leaving our kid alone? I'm like, well, you know, I
work too, you know, so there are things I have
to do.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
But I just it's just I'm like, why can't I
leave you alone?
Speaker 6 (19:08):
One second, I don't.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
She's so mild tempered when I'm around, and then the
second I leave, it's like, whoo, he's out of here.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
I'm on this floor. Oh by myself.
Speaker 5 (19:18):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
I used to relish in that when I was a kid,
if my parents left me alone, I was like, thank you,
I don't I'm just gonna go play and do my
own thing. I was very much a loner as a kid.
Like in a way, I'm like, can't you just be
like that?
Speaker 4 (19:30):
Like my mom.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Always figured we would just entertain ourselves, Like that wasn't
an option. My mom wasn't sitting on the floor with
us playing a game or right, there were four of
us seven and under, and you just figured it out.
Like I mean, I'm sure when we were babies and
we couldn't be on our own, but as we got older,
you were on your own and you had to entertain yourself.
And I as an adult look at that as like
(19:53):
that was a gift. Actually, right, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Like here's the reason why you have toys the kids,
so you can play with that.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
You can play. That's a funny story.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
At least it was just panting like a sharpie.
Speaker 6 (20:08):
Yeah, it could have been worse, and not your walls.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
Yeah, the walls.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
We're finding new spots every day now, Like, what is that?
Speaker 1 (20:17):
Mommy, random hers.
Speaker 7 (20:19):
All the treading girls said, pit me a betty.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
All the creating girls said, I'm going to Lilly. All
the pretty.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Girls said, I hate my hand talking to the mirror.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
And they're underwear Mommy and Drake, I'm on a buddy, Mommy, j.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Post alone and Blake shout nine minutes after.
Speaker 8 (20:44):
Eight had to keep us in the loop of entertainment
and pop culture and the things we shouldn't care about,
but somehow we really do.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
It's best eat breath on ninety three point one.
Speaker 6 (20:57):
So Jelly Roll is everywhere, it seems, and now we
know where he'll be.
Speaker 5 (21:01):
In February sixteenth, the closing ceremonies of the Invictus Games
in Vancouver. So the Invictus Games are multi sport event
for wounded, injured and six service members and veterans, and
they put out a promo for it yesterday where Prince Harry,
who's the founder of the event, meets up with Jelly
Roll at the Tattoo Parlor and hilarity ensues. Meanwhile, Jelly
(21:22):
and Post Malone announced to Mega Tour happening this spring,
and they will be coming round the Bend, so we
can check them out this spring and summer. All right.
McDonald's has debated a new value meal, seemingly inspired by
the Friendship Basics exchange at the Air's Tour. But there's
a catch. It's only available in Canada. It's called the
Bestie Bundle. It includes two of everything, junior chicken sandwiches,
(21:45):
two small fries, two fountain drinks, and then it includes
those Friendship bracelets. So it's only while supplies last, so
don't all run to Canada at once. Okay.
Speaker 6 (21:56):
The funeral for One Direction member Liam Payne set to
take place this week. I'll give you details on that
as I hear them.
Speaker 5 (22:03):
We've all heard about the drama between the band Fleetwood
Mac right, but now there's a new documentary that's hopefully
going to shed some light on what actually went down.
Speaker 6 (22:12):
It's going to be produced by Apple. They put out
a feature yesterday if you want to check that out.
Speaker 5 (22:17):
And lastly, OCDA offers employees the chance to anonymously voice
workplace grievances through professional scolders who can front bosses using
a scripted delivery. So this is a service that you
can actually use. It gained viral attention on TikTok. Now
there's a YouTube channel. It's founded by a comedian Kalamar White.
(22:40):
The company, It's Real. It sparks some global interest and
amusement because it's being praised for a creative way of
addressing workplace issues.
Speaker 6 (22:50):
Would you guys ever do anything like that?
Speaker 1 (22:52):
No?
Speaker 4 (22:53):
Yeah, I don't think I yeah, I don't know. If
I had the time in my brain to be like,
I'm going to go do this.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
Uh huh.
Speaker 6 (22:59):
No, I think there's something to this.
Speaker 5 (23:03):
I feel like a lot of people in my life
right now, I've heard their complaints about their bosses, and
I'm like, and I've had bad bosses before too, and
there sometimes there's nothing you can do. So if there
was a funny kind of I don't know, serious way.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
To do it, I feel like, yeah, I guess it
makes you feel better, But what does it do in
a lot, but like doesn't I don't imagine the bosses
are going to hear it and be like.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
Oh, you know, I should change my ways.
Speaker 5 (23:30):
They might though maybe you don't know you know what
I mean, or maybe like their bosses don't have any idea,
but if they saw it on TikTok, they might do
something about it.
Speaker 4 (23:38):
Yes, that's fair.
Speaker 5 (23:39):
I just feel like a lot of people feel stuck
at work, is the impression that I get. And this
might help you feel a little unstuck.
Speaker 1 (23:44):

But anyway, we have these gift cards all this week
and we've got a trivia question today. I know a
lot of us have fears about different things, right, not uncommon,
but there's a fear that I never knew existed, and
I heard about it the other day. All you have
to do is give me the definition of penththerophobia, penth theophobia,
(24:50):
penth theophobia. Uh huh, that is a fear of what.
We're going to start with caller nine, and we'll keep
going till we get a winner. I think this should
be pretty quick. Eight hundred three two one thirty six
ninety three. What is thereophobia? And I want to know
if you've got this fear?
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Maybe you do.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
There's George Burge. He'll be here for jingle y'all next month.
Speaker 6 (25:16):
Call me looses please.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Let's carry Underwood ninety three point one w poc Hi Bob, Hey, Bob,
good morning, guys, welcome to our show. I know you're
a fan Saturday Night Live. I mean, you know trivia
about it? You know I'm not saying you're crazy about
the current lineup. But it was on this date, November twentieth.
Back in nineteen eighty two, Drew Barrymore, at the age
(26:02):
of seven, hosted Saturday Night Lost.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
I remember that episode, and is.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
That the youngest host that there's ever? So I was
gonna say it's gotta be.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Yeah, definitely, how did she do?
Speaker 7 (26:14):
It?
Speaker 8 (26:15):
Was good?
Speaker 4 (26:15):
I think I remember being a decent show. Was mister
T involved in someone?
Speaker 1 (26:20):
No, No, I can't believe you have that. I can't
believe you can access that.
Speaker 7 (26:24):
I do for me, well, because I've probably seen it
a couple of times. Back then, I would rewatch stuff
over and over and yeah, I remember vaguely.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
Yeah, all right.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
One audio clip for you today Seth Myers talking about
kind of a random thing that happened in Michigan.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Authorities in Michigan recently rated a home and seized firearms, drugs,
and an alligator.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
The owner is being charged with one count of attempted Florida.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
So I got an email today about what Maryland's favorite
board game is, and this is for this year, for
twenty twenty four. What we've played more than anything else
this week earlier. I think it was just yesterday was
Monopoly Day, National Monopoly Day. That is not the number
board game.
Speaker 7 (27:06):
Here, But you want us the guess, sure, Scrabble Nope,
come on, Sorry, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (27:15):
Monopoly was second, by the way, Battleship Cards against Humanity.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
No, it's not a board game. It's a card game. Shoots. No, sorry,
it was sorry, I said.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
I thought you were just saying sorry.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
Who's gone first? I said sorry. I didn't know people
played that anymore.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
I thought you were just like sorry, like, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (27:40):
I played it with the kids the other day actually,
and I thought it was so boring. Yeah, I was like,
what is the This isn't fun. You didn't like it,
you didn't have a good Well, it's like you just
moved the thing back and forth. I think that's why
it's called sorry you didn't have a good time.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
They start right out by saying, you've got to play
this game. We're sorry.
Speaker 4 (27:57):
We played it a lot when I was a kid.
I can't believe I have it.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Yeah, I played with my kids when they were a little.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
Green, yellow, red, yeah, different colors.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Oh yeah, all right. So there's a lot of stuff
on TV that you might find interesting. Andrew Barrymore showed
egg when Stefani her husband Blake is going to be
on Kimmel later on tonight, and of course it's the
CMA Awards's right, Yeah, hey, what you're acting like you
haven't heard this, Bob? Oh, that's right, I said, Bob
(28:25):
forgot about for a second. Yeah, I knew it was
this week, but going one game tomorrow. It's just busy
BMA tonight.
Speaker 7 (28:34):
It's happening in the clouds. Are brains very busy. The
tooth come on, there's so much going on.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
You hardly have time for this break anymore with all
you've got going. So I saw this and I thought
it was kind of cool till I saw the second
half of the story. But did you see that Delta
has teamed up with Shakeshack to give you burgers when
you're taking a long trip?
Speaker 4 (28:55):
No, like on the flight.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
Yeah, it starts December first, it starts on flights out
of Boston. They're going to expand it through different cities.
Eventually you have to be on a flight that goes
at least nine hundred miles. Okay, that's a flight, and
right now I believe it's just for first class.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
Are you serious.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
I'm like, people already are mad at the people in
first class. Can't we can't smell a burger from shake?
Speaker 5 (29:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (29:26):
Say money?
Speaker 1 (29:26):
I know, so I'm not sure, but the article leads
me to believe that it is only going to be
to start available.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
Jeez, why do we have to have a class?
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Have you ever actually paid for a first class ticket?
Speaker 5 (29:39):
Never?
Speaker 7 (29:39):
No, I never thought it was worth it. Yeah, I know,
but some people say, if you do it once, you
can never go back, and.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
That's why I'm not ever going to do Yes, I
don't need that extra.
Speaker 6 (29:48):
My sister and I got upgraded for free once.
Speaker 5 (29:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (29:50):
Yeah that we thought we were pretty special.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
Right is comfortable?
Speaker 5 (29:56):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (29:57):
It is?
Speaker 6 (29:57):
Everything?
Speaker 1 (29:58):
It is, and they give you so much more attention
because there's fewer people for them.
Speaker 7 (30:02):
Just it was like the Seinfeld episode where they give
you a hot fudge Sunday.
Speaker 5 (30:05):
And warm warm Yeah you could have yeah, yeah, I remember.
They handed it the washlot to my sister and she
looked at me like what do I do with this?
What is this?
Speaker 1 (30:17):
Your face? Your hands? Watch something?
Speaker 4 (30:19):
My wife wants to do it once and yeah, come.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
On, Bob, somebody should do it once.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
It's thousands more. It's thousands more, just.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
To be treated a little bit nicer.
Speaker 6 (30:31):
Do they still upgrade people for free? Like they did?
Speaker 7 (30:34):
Not?
Speaker 4 (30:34):
Never? I mean I've heard of that. It's never happened, huh.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
I had it happened one time? And because they had
changed gates and we got to the gate lake so
they had given the seat our seats away, so they did.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
I was wondering what the parameters is to upgrade from
coach to like, what would.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
They charge you to be?
Speaker 5 (30:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (30:53):
Yeah, it's sometimes on an overbooked flight if you you know,
but we got there in time that we could still board,
so they had to bump.
Speaker 4 (31:01):
Did they charge you or? Oh? Okay?
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Now because we didn't make the mistake. It's just that
when they changed the gate, we were really far away from.
Speaker 5 (31:08):
The Sometimes people are really good at their credit card
points and they can and they can get first class
that way, and I'm like, I'm not.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
I don't know. I just can't keep track of all that.
There's too many things. And look at Bob's so busy,
you know, he can't keep track.
Speaker 7 (31:24):
I did the points thing for Southwest Oh Okay, Today's.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
Best Country ninety three point one w POC Baltimore Now
top stories at the top.
Speaker 4 (31:34):
Of the hour.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
It wasn't unexpected, but it still hurts a little bit.
Both picture Corbyn Burns and outfielder Anthony Santander rejected qualifying
offers from the Orioles, meaning they are heading out on
the free agent market to look for new deals. Now,
this doesn't close the door on either of them returning.
The os Are is still expected to be big players
on the free agent market this offseason, and Burns specifically
is one of the top free agent pictures this winter.
(31:57):
So we'll see what happens, but it should be an
interesting offseason for the Oriels. It'll be a bummer to
lose both of them if they both do choose to
go somewhere else, But that's baseball, I guess. US Naval
Academy graduate is facing hate crime charges for allegedly tearing
down a flag that was displayed outside of the Dapper
Dog Tattoo shop in Annapolis. So apparently the flag had
been torn down a few times, after which the shop
owner set up a camera to try and catch the culprit.
(32:19):
The video they got was posted online and the suspect
was identified and reported to police. That suspect is Benjamin
Michael of Dallas, Texas. He was in an Annapolis last
weekend for the Navy football game. Michael has charged with
a hate crime and destruction of property. And Baltimore's Penn
Station has received a new round of funding to help
jumpstart the revitalization of the historic train station. Up to
nearly one hundred and twenty three million dollars in new
(32:40):
funding from the Federal Railroad Administration has been announced. The
money will help further the renovation and restoration of the
more than century old structure, as well as plans for
a new building north of the tracks to house Amtrak
operations as well as passenger entrances and a waiting area.
This announcement could help one of Baltimore's highest profile redevelopment
projects get back on track after rising costs forced Amtrak
(33:01):
and its project partners to pause construction over the summer.
As part of an effort to revitalize its Northeast Corridor,
the passenger rail line between DC and Boston, Amtrak has
been spending billions of dollars in Maryland to start building
a new tunnel under West Baltimore, replace aging bridges.
Speaker 4 (33:14):
And redevelop Penn stations. So good to see this investment
here in our local area.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
Yeah, feels like that Penn Station has been being worked
one for a long time.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
I know, And I love using the train. I so
enjoy taking the train from Baltimore to say, New York
or wherever, and whenever you stop in another city. It
just feels like those train stations have had more investments.
So I love that there is investment in trying to
upgrade Penn Station.
Speaker 6 (33:37):
It's a good sign for the future of the city
for sure.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
Absolutely all right, tickets Thomas Rutt coming to Jiffy lou
Blive August twenty second, Live Nation giving us these tickets,
and we'd like to give them to you, So caller
nine right now, eight hundred and three two one thirty
six ninety three, will just hand these over you. Sam
Hunt without Skirts.
Speaker 4 (34:02):
There's so much going on.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
Jelly Roll ninety three point one WPOC. Jelly is performing
tonight at the CMA Awards. I mean, if you go
through the list, it's long. It's pretty much everyone easier
to say who's not performing. But I've come up with
five of the different categories and we'll see what everybody thinks.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
As far Are you taking notes? Okay, you're taking notes, Yes.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
I am taking notes.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
So let's start. We're going to start right away with
the big one entertainer of the year. Here's who's up. Luke, Comb's,
Jelly Roll, Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen, Lany Wilson.
Speaker 6 (34:43):
Okay, and remind me this is are we basing this
on record sales or like.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
Just entertainer of the Year.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
Yeah, I don't know how the people that vote like
fully embrace Entertainer of the Year. I mean, I would
say that I think probably Morgan Luke would be the winners,
but I think the vote's gonna get split between the
two of them, so I think Laney's probably gonna win it.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
Again, I'm gonna go with jelly Roll just because of
all the attention he's had this year.
Speaker 6 (35:12):
So you're going with Lane, Go with Laney. I think
I was feeling jelly Roll.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
Okay, all right? For two for Joe? All right, all right,
let's take on male vocalists. Now, let's do Single of
the Year. A Single of the Year is based on airplay,
so I'm gonna go with Shaboozy. But here's your choices.
A bar song Shaboozy Dirt Cheap Cody Johnson. I had
some help post Malone, and that was the post Malona
(35:39):
Morgan Wall Yeah, Watermelon Moonshine, that's Laney and Whitehorse Chris Tapleton.
I'm going Shahbooz.
Speaker 5 (35:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
I mean, it's gonna be Shaboozi or post Malone. I
don't even know.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
It's got to be one of those.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
I don't even know why they put the other three
songs in that category. I mean, I'll say, like post
Malone had the bigger song, like streaming wise, they said
at first, but like Shaboozi's has lasted a lot longer.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
So I think I'm gonna go with you on Shaboozy
for this one about you.
Speaker 6 (36:00):
Yeah, I'm gonna go with Shaboozy too.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
Seems to have much more staying power.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Huh yeah, all right. Now, song of the Year that's
based on the songwriter and the content of the song,
So your choices are burn it down. I do like
that song Dirt Cheap. I had some help the painter
and white Horse. Now I picked I had some help
on that one. Song of the Year. Hmmm, do you
(36:25):
guys think?
Speaker 3 (36:26):
Yeah, I mean, my gut says that song's got to
win something. But I wouldn't be shocked to see the
painter get it. I think a lot of people really
like the painter. So I'll say Cody Johnson the Painter.
Speaker 5 (36:35):
Just to try something different, I'm just gonna go with
my favorite of this category with white Horse.
Speaker 6 (36:40):
Okay, Okay, probably won't.
Speaker 4 (36:41):
Win, but you like it.
Speaker 7 (36:43):
I do.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
That's good, all right. Female Vocalist of the Year, You've
got Kelsey, Ashley McBride, Megan Maroney. She's had a big year,
Casey Musgrave's Laney Wilson, people love her.
Speaker 4 (36:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
I think it could be Kelsey's year.
Speaker 4 (36:57):
I think it'll probably not going Laney. I just don't
think anybody votes again Laney.
Speaker 6 (37:00):
Right now, I'm going to go with Laney.
Speaker 4 (37:03):
I would love for Kelsey to get some recognition for
what she's done, but.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
I'll be odd man out on this one.
Speaker 4 (37:08):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
And Male Vocalist, so you have Luke Combs, Jelly Roll,
Cody Johnson, Morgan Wallen, and Chris Stapleton. I always picked
Chris because I think he's the best vocalist.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
Yeah, it's so hard to pick against him. I wouldn't
be shocked to see jelly Roll get this one. Okay,
I'm gonna go with Luke Combs on this one.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
Okay, So Bethany Luke Colmbs and is jelly Roll your pick?
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Yeah, I mean I think Chris will win, but I'm
gonna pick jelly Roll. I wouldn't be surprised if he
does get it.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
But okay, I wonder if Morgan Wallen will get anything.
I think he has more nominations than anybody else, but.
Speaker 6 (37:42):
I think everybody's mad at him.
Speaker 4 (37:43):
Well, I don't even know if it's that. I don't
even know if it's that. I just don't know.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
It's kind of like Luke Brian, right, Like Luke Brian
has had a crazy successful career, but I think he
has like two CMA Awards, Like, I just don't I
don't know if his if Morgan's name tops the list
for some of these, Like, I don't think he's the
best vocalist, so I don't think he's going to beat
Chris Stapleton and male vocalists right like Entertainer, I think
his vote gets split with Luke Colmbs and maybe even
jelly Roll. So I think Laney's gonna get Like I
(38:07):
don't know. So it's it's tough. I mean, I think
they'll get some award for I had some help. Something
has to go that way, I think.
Speaker 5 (38:13):
So.
Speaker 3 (38:13):
I don't think you can have a song that big
now musical event of the year. I think one will
be Post Malone and Morgan Wallen. I know we're not
looking at that category.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
But maybe a little later we can look at something.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
Yeah, we'll take a look at some of the other
categories later today. In the Nashville News around nine forty.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
All right, we've got Russell Dickerson and God Gave Me
a Girl ninety three point one WPO.
Speaker 4 (38:33):
Loser byse Coffee. Is that sure?
Speaker 5 (38:36):
Sure?
Speaker 1 (38:37):
What if there's a tie?
Speaker 6 (38:39):
I mean, we's for coffee two days.
Speaker 5 (38:42):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (38:43):
Okay, let's go in them.
Speaker 4 (38:46):
Giving you a single life. The reason Christ didn't care
that
