was actually like, you guys were just kicking butt.
Speaker 9 (04:12):
Thanks Bud.
Speaker 10 (04:13):
Great show.
Speaker 9 (04:14):
It was great.
Speaker 10 (04:14):
You were the main man doing the main handoff, just
doing all the main things. I appreciate it. Man, you're hey,
I learned from the best, right, Very cool? Yeah, Stephen, Yes, okay,
let's bring out Norm beck Off. Shall we miss the sunshine?
Speaker 9 (04:29):
Let's do it?
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Hey?
Speaker 10 (04:31):
Norm?
Speaker 14 (04:31):
What's up?
Speaker 15 (04:32):
Dude, just when I thought I was out, they pull
me back in.
Speaker 10 (04:38):
A yes, sir, But norm, I couldn't think of a
better guy to jump in and uh jump into Jimbo's
shoes than you, because you've been on the show for many,
many years and you're back in a guest position, kind
of like a guest captain. But man, nobody knows the
waters of Broward County like you do. And what's the
pulse of fishing, Joe? Then the norm definitely Norman is
(04:58):
the man and he tells us straight, of course. So
Norma fishing good, bad and different? What's happening do you think? Well?
Speaker 16 (05:07):
Uh, you know, this week we had our first real
cold front of the season. And you know, cold fronts
are cold fronts are game changers, and uh this cold
front was no exception.
Speaker 15 (05:22):
And uh now I'll tell you where I think the
cold front really shines on. The fishing is more or
less on the shallower reefs okay, and the inshore fishing.
Speaker 11 (05:35):
Now, one thing that this cold front.
Speaker 15 (05:36):
Did was it gave us another push of mullet. And
we've been talking about the mullet run a little bit
here and there.
Speaker 11 (05:46):
Uh, you know, we've had a pretty decent mullet run
this year. And uh, you know, uh.
Speaker 15 (05:52):
Historically speaking, uh, the mullet run usually doesn't even kick
off until we start getting cold fronts. And and uh,
this this front being you know in November, which is
pretty kind of late for cold fronts. You know, we
usually start seeing them in October. But this year, you know,
(06:13):
everything's different. But this year that cold front came through.
It gave us a real good push of mullet and
that fired up you know, the tarpin the snooks, you know,
the jacks, everything. You know, when the mullets come down
the beach, you know, it fires everything up. Now, the
(06:34):
when the when the cold front actually does come through, Uh,
the day of the front is usually not that good
because the temperatures drop and everything just you know, everything
just gets all boogered, and so you kind of have
to wait a.
Speaker 11 (06:52):
Day or so after the front.
Speaker 15 (06:53):
And then once you get that, you know, once the
weather pattern stabilizes, that's when the fishing.
Speaker 11 (07:00):
Really gets good.
Speaker 15 (07:01):
After a front, We're starting to see some really good
Spanish and Cero mackerel.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
On the reefs.
Speaker 15 (07:09):
And let me just I think that is a much
overlooked fishery here and and the Spanish and cereal mackerel
when they when they come down the beach and the
fishing really fires up. Man, you can have some really
great days out there.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Uh.
Speaker 15 (07:26):
The thing that you want to do is you want
to load up on live cultures, and uh the way
to the way to kind of get going with that
is I would start on the reefs trolling lip plugs,
you know, like you know rapallas or yo Zuri's crystal minnows,
that kind of thing. And once you get a bite,
(07:49):
then the thing to do there is uh to anchor
down and start chumming.
Speaker 11 (07:56):
Okay, Uh, make sure you have plenty of chump.
Speaker 15 (08:00):
And if you can get if you can get live
shrimp as well. Uh it's it's kind of harder to
find these days than it used to be all the
tackle shops used to carry it. But if you can
still find live shrimp somewheres, that's always worth having as well.
And uh, you know you can, you know, you start
(08:21):
putting out some live baits and whether there's shrimp or pilchers,
and you can.
Speaker 11 (08:24):
Really have a really good day uh doing that.
Speaker 15 (08:28):
And man, I mean you talk about fun for kids
and everything else like that, You know, and and don't
overlook the piers either. I mean, if if it's you know,
if it's blowing and you know it's really rough again.
Speaker 11 (08:42):
You know, I mentioned that the last time I was
on you.
Speaker 15 (08:44):
Know, go to those piers that wind blowing northeast, uh,
for the you know, the.
Speaker 11 (08:50):
First two or three days after a front.
Speaker 15 (08:53):
And if it gets too rough and you don't want
to take the boat out, go hit the piers. Man
this bluefish, Spanish mackerel, pomp ando Jack's bluefish, you know,
tarp and snooks.
Speaker 11 (09:03):
Everything is everything's gonna be fired up in shore right.
Speaker 10 (09:09):
Or what? Man?
Speaker 8 (09:10):
Oh, it's great and it's you know, Norm mentioned like
take the kids out, it'll be a lot of fun.
We actually went out yesterday to Boca Inlet and did
some fish in there, just right there at the inlet,
and Norm, I'll tell you like that there.
Speaker 10 (09:24):
Was tarpain schooling up there.
Speaker 8 (09:26):
We saw some big snook, We saw manatees, we saw
schools of mullet kind of like going back and forth.
Speaker 9 (09:32):
Not a lot, but we saw them. And it was great, man,
great fishing.
Speaker 8 (09:36):
Like you said, We actually caught a couple like little
Spanish mackerel, like right, there at the inlet.
Speaker 10 (09:41):
So I agree with Norm. It's it's banging right now.
Speaker 11 (09:45):
Yeah, I mean, it's it's you know, I'll let I'll let.
Speaker 15 (09:49):
Captain Vinnie and and Benny talk about offshore. But I'm
telling you right now, you know a lot of guys
that go racing offshore, and uh you know that they
they're going past some of the best fishing that we
have right after a front.
Speaker 11 (10:06):
Now, I'll tell you one other thing real quick before
I go.
Speaker 15 (10:08):
Sure you're catching Spanish mackerel, and and you're seeing you
know if when you're when you're fishing for Spanish mackerel,
look for bally who's getting sprayed too?
Speaker 10 (10:20):
Okay?
Speaker 15 (10:21):
And uh it sometimes it can be as easy as
going out to the balls and uh tying off to
the balls, putting your tomb bag out. You get the
ballet who's up and if they're starting to get sprayed
right in back of the boat, that's because of the.
Speaker 11 (10:37):
Spanish mackerel nine times out of ten.
Speaker 15 (10:40):
And so you know, when you're when you're trolling around
looking for bait, you know, watch for the you know what,
just just like it is offshore right on the reefs,
you know, watch for baits getting sprayed and birds and
activity like that.
Speaker 11 (10:55):
It's it's all right there, right there on the reef.
Speaker 15 (10:57):
And if you do happen to catch a small Spanish mackerel,
don't hesitate to put him out live because you'll catch
some of the biggest kinkfish that you'll catch all year
doing that.
Speaker 10 (11:11):
Wow, I can't think of a better way to open
a show. He covered every fish, but I mean a blowfish.
I mean it was all in there. Man, I'm saying
a blowfish, a blowfish, puffer fish. How did that even
go in your head?
Speaker 8 (11:25):
Just like, how did you get a puffer fish or blowfish.
Speaker 9 (11:30):
According to you? In your head? Like how did that
pop up?
Speaker 10 (11:32):
Because I'm just not half here half a dime? Okay,
did do brain surgery? They missed a few spots, Joe,
and poked a few others. Man, Nor you were great. Man,
really enjoyed it, joined you and that blowfish report, Okay,
seriously enjoyed that big type.
Speaker 11 (11:50):
I really think some of the anesthes worn off.
Speaker 10 (11:55):
Norm I totally agree with you.
Speaker 8 (11:56):
You just had one of the best long thought out
reports I've heard in a while.
Speaker 9 (12:02):
And then Eric goes man, blowfish.
Speaker 10 (12:05):
It wasn't great, Joe, I just was running out of words. Okay, okay, thanks,
thanks you jump out of like a shark on plenty tune. Okay,
but thanks very much.
Speaker 11 (12:15):
No, am you the man dude.
Speaker 10 (12:15):
Thanks so much, brother, Have a great weekend. I speak back,
by the way. Next weekend we get sure usually again,
by the waycause Jim is still gone.
Speaker 9 (12:22):
We're gonna need those blowfish reports.
Speaker 10 (12:26):
I guess this will make a highlight reel Joe. I'm
thinking there, gooy, no excuse my last morning. Everyone, have
a great, great weekend, brother, You're the man dude. Seriously,
thanks guys, I run that dog all right. I'm happy.
Doub will take a little break. We're gathering my thoughts here.
I guess in a moment ago Joe's over here losing
(12:46):
it totally. Okay, come back talking Corey Dorkowski next about
his freshwater blowfish.
Speaker 9 (12:52):
I don't know, I'm crying.
Speaker 10 (12:53):
And then we'll talk to wait, god, she's a catching
blowfish off the back of that party boat and uh
and more? Shall we right here Fox Sports Night forty Live.
We'll talk about it.

Speaker 10 (17:06):

Speaker 9 (17:24):
Alright, it's pretty bad.
Speaker 6 (17:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (17:26):
I my wife said, I I have a problem.
Speaker 10 (17:28):
You have a serious. You do it for Halloween. Do
you like a Thanksgiving lighting ceremony as well?
Speaker 15 (17:33):
Well?
Speaker 8 (17:33):
No, see all right, think football, right guys. So like
Thanksgiving for me is like preseason football. So I get
everything ready for Christmas. So I start slowly putting stuff
up and then you know, come like so Thanksgiving itself
is like for me, the beginning of Christmas. So that's
(17:53):
when we do the tree, we decorate the rest of
the house.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 10 (17:58):
It's a story of end. I mean going. We've got
waiting on a lot of wee. Okay, well, proud of
your life, Joe, seriously, not proud of your head gear,
but proud of your life. Cold man, it's not cold, dude, freezing.
You're such a sissy. Let's go to a very hardcore
guy gets that there fishes no matter what the weather is.
He's out there in the lakes and the waterways and
the freshwater streams. Yeah, the one, the only mystery. Huh uh, Corey, No,
(18:22):
I kowski my mad good wanting to see you brother.
Speaker 6 (18:26):
Good morning. How you guys doing doing great?
Speaker 10 (18:28):
We're actually in the studios today out of the elements,
not at Steve with j Gray's palatial property. I joined
this high tech world. This is really high tech. Look
at computer screens everywhere. It is like out of space
city types ten.
Speaker 9 (18:40):
Yeah, right, swimming in wires.
Speaker 6 (18:42):
Man love it Ai AI, Yeah we got.
Speaker 10 (18:46):
Actually we are AI. Joe and I are not real
we are. This is the AI version of us. Yeah.
Well we're a holographic image on this stream. Okay, right,
not even here. Yes, that's why I put over that
make believe hat you have on. It's not even real.
Speaker 9 (18:59):
It's a glitch I had. It's a glitching coy.
Speaker 10 (19:03):
Yeah. Sorry, Yeah, Corey. How's the water's been? That cold
front affect you and all? My friend or what.
Speaker 6 (19:10):
I thought it would affect us, And I was out
on those I was out the day that that came through,
and it was like forty something that day. So I
had a guy for two days. I had him that
day and I had him the next day. And it
was probably some of the It was some great fishing
for the snakeheads especially. I thought it was going to
(19:31):
be slowing it down and it was freaking great day.
We we got thirty plus fish each day.
Speaker 11 (19:41):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (19:41):
And it was mostly all top water, so go figure.
And most of the day, I mean it's from start
to finish. So the first of the day of the
coldest day was I mean, it was from like I said,
start to finish. It was mostly top water. We got
maybe a couple of chatter dates, but it was all
top water. I ended up getting one that was over
(20:02):
eleven pounds. He got another one almost nine, and then
the next day he got another one that was ten pounds,
another one close to eight. So the big fish were hidden.
Even though he had bluebirds, guys, and you know, cold conditions,
let's fish. But the fish were still hitting real well.
(20:24):
So I got a bad too.
Speaker 9 (20:26):
Corey questioned real quick about that.
Speaker 10 (20:29):
So I noticed as well.
Speaker 8 (20:30):
We were actually out with the kids camp during the
cold front, and the fishing was that was one of
our best days we've ever had. So the question is, like,
you know, these fish, they're like from South America or
you know, Asia or whatever, So are they getting used
to this weather, to these fronts, to what's kind of happening, Like,
(20:51):
why is it that the fishing was surprisingly better for
these exotic species during the cold front.
Speaker 9 (20:58):
What's your theory?
Speaker 6 (20:59):
It was, Well, it was what I was and this
is what I was hoping for, and and this is
probably what more mostly happened is the water stayed warm
enough to where you know, it was warmer than the
air temperature of course, and that's who kept these fish,
you know, active, They kept him hitting so and and
and also too. It could have just been the place
(21:19):
the canals that I fished, you know, they just could
have been just active already and they just stayed that
way because the water temp you know, was staying warm enough.
It was still in the seventies, so you know, it
didn't cool off enough because if they cooled off with
say ten degrees, then okay, then you know that's going
to start changing things. But it didn't drop, you know,
that drastically to where these fish were slowing down. So
(21:42):
I mean it wasn't like they were hitting like softly.
I mean these fish were coming out of the water
backs coming out of the war. I mean they were
they were choking the baits. I mean, it was it
was just they were they were on fire. And even
before it too, I had a guy, two guys and
we you know, we caught a bunch of fish that day,
got bigase eight towns. So the bit it's been good,
(22:04):
it's been good. So we'll see today, I'm out in
the everglade, so we'll see what how the bass fight is.
Speaker 10 (22:09):
Hey, Cory, our brand new listeners are not familiar with
some of these terminologies when it comes to lures and techniques,
trying to keep it basically one on one for brand
new folks who are into the South Florida never have
tried casting for a snakehead. So a chatter bait. Explain
what a chatterbait is would.
Speaker 6 (22:26):
So a chat A chatterbait is basically a jig. It's
just a jig with a blade on it, and it's
just just look at it, like, let's say a bucktail jig,
but this has got a grant, doesn't have feathers on it,
but it has a skirt on it. Just but it's
got a blade on the end of it, on the
end of the face on the on the jig head.
Speaker 10 (22:44):
You mean like that propelled it propeller blade kind of thing,
spinning spinning blade.
Speaker 6 (22:48):
It's it's it doesn't spin, it's kind of rattles back
and forth, so it's kind of like wobbles it really
it really chatted. It really has a lot of vibration
to it, and there's a bit of a bend on
the end of it, so it allows it to chatter,
and you know, it allows it to have a lot
of vibration. So it's just they're called a blade a jig,
(23:09):
you know, that's another way of calling it. But that's
pretty much what it is.
Speaker 10 (23:13):
Just as the spinning prop, the spinning prop on some
of my lures that was there he a name for that.
I mean, what's what are those things called?
Speaker 6 (23:21):
It's a prop bait, so it could be either like
a devil or at a torpedo. Yeah, so yeah, pretty
much prop bait that's what we call it.
Speaker 10 (23:31):
So all right, Joe, So I never tosd the chatter
bait of you one have I do I use any No,
I'm sure you are truly a take it easy shiner guy.
Cut the corner thingy so no one nobody could play
that that annoying ass music. Every time we say word candy,
So I just said the word candy all morning long. Kay,
you're the candy man, bro, you are the candy man.
(23:54):
Dude is the best man. Like you know, there's no
sport in that, man. Is there any sport throwing live
shiners for a bass? Really?
Speaker 6 (24:04):
I mean, for me, I just you know, I've I've
caught way too many bass and way too many different
species on artificial and I just for me, it just
doesn't I just like us. Sorry, I mean whatever, I mean,
if people like to use it, that's fine, there's nothing wrong.
I mean, I'm not just I just I don't I
don't particularly like using it. I just I don't.
Speaker 9 (24:26):
You know what.
Speaker 8 (24:27):
I always wonder this, Corey, how come though, because you
do charters and do all that stuff, Like, do you
ever get guys that are like, hey, I want to
use Yeah?
Speaker 6 (24:36):
Yeah, No, I mean I've I've had guys that, you know,
I've always people I've had to because they just they're
not very experienced. So I have to make it as
easy as possible. Not for snakeheads, because that's just if
you're not good at you're not good at it. I mean,
it's just you're you're going to waste too much time
using art live bait. For snakeheads, it's just they're they're
too far in between, and you got to move around
(24:56):
too much. You got to cover too much water. But
if it comes like peacocks or you know, a large
amount of clown knife fish, sometimes I have to But
I try not to.
Speaker 10 (25:05):
Though, Yeah, Joe, See, like real, real accomplished anglers use
the lures. Okay, learn the technique to make a lure
swim property weekend. When you're pulling up topwater popprong, you
gotta pop it properly. Okay. There's a whole big thing
with suspending jerk bas Okay, how to use those properly.
You got to jerk them and suspend them just the
(25:26):
right way. Okay. There's a real school of thought about that,
and a very trained fisherman like myself and others know
how to do that properly. You toss a damn live
shiner out there, you scream me for its life, I
might add, and crying, and that's silent fish stream before
it gets attacked and murdered. Okay, just see that.
Speaker 9 (25:44):
What do you mean?
Speaker 8 (25:45):
No, they don't even know what's They're like genetically engineered, man,
they're like brainless.
Speaker 6 (25:50):
Yes, a lot of a lot of hits. A lot
of hits are more like reaction. React a lot of times.
That's usually what what they react. See, So depending on
how it moves it hits the water, they react to
it more like more more of the time. But I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
I just it's that's.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
Fun to me.
Speaker 6 (26:07):
I don't know, I just I like the challenge. That's
just that's just me.
Speaker 9 (26:10):
So you're saying using artificials is more challenging.
Speaker 10 (26:13):
Though, that's what he's saying.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
Yeah, yeah, I mean I agree with you.
Speaker 9 (26:17):
I mean I agree.
Speaker 6 (26:18):
I mean it is. I mean it's I mean, especially
you know, you fish, let's say the lakes of bass,
you know, for bass and public lakes. You know, I've
got fished a ton. I mean it's a challenge when
every when they've seen every lure in the world. I mean, yeah,
you got to persuade those fish to hit. So it's
not an easy and that's with any fish, but it's
not an easy task. Sometimes.
Speaker 10 (26:41):
My go to still that red and white corner aized
bucktail jig with a little miler in the feather area,
and you always use it. Worked at the hard and fast.
I should never let me down, man. I think it's
still kicking butt and catch a fish. I'm lovely man, I.
Speaker 6 (26:55):
Mean I have we have. I mean my dad especially,
he makes the plastic frogs, the rubber you know, the
plastic kicking frog and I mean, if you guys I'd
like to send you guys some a few.
Speaker 10 (27:07):
If if you want to, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (27:10):
I mean, whatever you guys are, I don't know where
to send it to or you know, or if you
want to hit me on Facebook, I mean wherever you
want me to send it to.
Speaker 10 (27:17):
I'll you, guys, I'll give you my address to the
off shows. Just send it to me. I'll make sure
I hate the Joe. I want to see them sometime.
A guy which is like never, Yeah, great, and Corey,
we're going to rock the clock here, brother man. Have
a great time in the Everglades and do your thing
and hopefully I got one more question absolutely, Corey.
Speaker 9 (27:33):
One one question.
Speaker 8 (27:34):
If you were going to use live bait for like
the big snakeheads, right, what would you use?
Speaker 25 (27:43):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (27:43):
Well, I know one thing that guys have used in
the past, or like the big you know they ever
seen those big boof of toads. Yeah, like guys will
use those. Yeah, they'll use those. You catch those and
you hook them in the lip and let them. Are
you hook him in the back and you just let
them you let them just dump go ahead, dump up up.
Speaker 10 (28:05):
Okay, that is really interesting, Corey.
Speaker 23 (28:09):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (28:09):
Yes, or you could use shiners. Shiners will work.
Speaker 10 (28:12):
Too, Okay, all right, cool, all right, Corey. Well, hey man,
I said, have a great weekend. You're the man. Break
that stick sneak kad record for the ninth time in
a row and go at it, brother, go get them.
Speaker 9 (28:23):
Thanks Corey.
Speaker 6 (28:24):
Yeah, sorry for the dump there, I was out.
Speaker 9 (28:27):
That's all right, man.
Speaker 10 (28:29):
S happens. It's it's happened. I don't worry about it, man. Yeah,
all right, that's a great report from from Corey. That
was awesome about new baits, but about why.
Speaker 9 (28:37):
You've got a lot of good information, and learn.
Speaker 10 (28:39):
About why you're so inept at really bass fishing? One
o one kind of the lures?
Speaker 9 (28:43):
Didn't didn't you?
Speaker 10 (28:44):
Just a little shiner? You like no skills? Who just who?
Speaker 8 (28:48):
Just took a kid out and landed like an epic
largemouth twelve pound bass on a shiner. This guy on
a shiner, Man, this guy do it on a lure, Joe,
this guy is this?
Speaker 10 (29:00):
We have an hour and a half left. I think it.
We'll take a little break every group, shall we?
Speaker 9 (29:05):
Let's do it?
Speaker 11 (29:05):
Oh?
Speaker 10 (29:05):
By the way, Steven J. Gray, a great man who

Bring out Wayne Wayne? Wait, God, Captain Wayne, come by, guys.
Speaker 9 (34:47):
How's it going?
Speaker 3 (34:49):
Hey? Well, all your bs?
Speaker 9 (34:52):
I know I know.
Speaker 10 (34:55):
A lot of it here.
Speaker 12 (34:57):
What Loly in South Florida, all your south you say
sixty three degrees, you say it's cold. You got folks
all around this country going, what what?
Speaker 1 (35:06):
What's that guy saying?
Speaker 8 (35:07):
You know what, sad I'm from New Jersey that that
makes it even worse.
Speaker 12 (35:13):
Yeah, yeah, well you probably shorts till you move down here,
So that's true. You know, that's that's what I tell
folks from like like up in Nebraska and Oregon. You know,
I mean, who do you know from Oregon?
Speaker 31 (35:24):
Come on?
Speaker 12 (35:24):
I mean it's cool. On the boat we get man,
we get to meet people from all over the world.
It's really cool, I mean awesome. So it's one of
the one of the beauties of my business. And uh
it's it's really thrilling. So all right, so I got them.
I'm gonna give you the fish and scoop here real quick,
all right. Kinkfish, ink fish, think small kingfish showed up
(35:45):
just like they used to forever. And they showed up, yeah,
a couple of days ago, so you don't have to
go far. And uh they've been right on the outside refline.
I'll give some quick directions here. If anybody's listening, it's
a fisherman. But uh, most of the time them off
down almost anywhere. Outgoing tide is a little better, just
as a natural flow of things. You know, outgoing tide
(36:06):
pushes bait offshore, and when shrimps start moving, which who
knows when that's going to be, but that'll push them
out to when everything eats shrimp. But you get out
and fifty to one hundred feet of water either fishing
live piltures or and the best thing in the world
for these little kings is like a twelve pounds spinning outfit,
a short piece of wire and a mackerel jig, a
sidewinder jig. You don't need to have an eighty dollars
(36:28):
lure and all this fancy stuff, just a bucktail or
a little jig and get two three guys casted. Only
you have your limit probably in no time. And kingfish
love jigs. They don't need expensive stuff, man, they just
they like cheap stuff. So anyway, there's been plenty of
them around, like pay attention to the limit sizes. So
for us it's great because you know, we buy pilchers.
(36:49):
We buy a wall full of live pilters before on
the way out, and we get about half spinning rods,
half conventionals, and we use a lot of a lot
of times, we just use a five to zero, a
regular shank hook, and you hook the pilcher it in
the nose, and nine times out of ten you're gonna
catch the fish. If they get bigger, yep, they start
eating it and you start getting more cutoffs, and that's
(37:11):
that's when you need the wire. So and all your
vertical jigging guys, you take the cheapest crap in your box.
Forget about them twenty dollars verticals, you know, get the
cheap ones, are the ones all beat up, and use
those and put wire on them. It's not blasphemous to
put wire on a vertical jig. I don't know why,
but there seems to be this this thing amongst jig
jig fishermen, the oh no, no, you don't put wire
on it?
Speaker 10 (37:31):
Really?
Speaker 12 (37:31):
Why not? No, you might catch more fish? You No,
I didn't think of that.
Speaker 10 (37:34):
Okay.
Speaker 12 (37:35):
I thought there's a vertical jig and rule book somewhere
that says no wire. But that's not the truth. So
anyway he did. Yeah, Well, because most of it, you
got to realize they're not they're not targeting wired fish
for wire so much. Now, if you pull up, dude,
if you're offshore three five hundred feet of water, you
(37:55):
come across the log or something floating, you don't know
if the wah who are there or not. And if
you don't have a thousands of dollars electric reels, controlling
planers and all that crap, all you got to do
is turn your dev finder to look from the surface
down one hundred and fifty feet when you go buy it,
because most machines are going to show you like zero
to two thousand. You're not going to see a fish
one hundred foot down because of the scale. So I'm
(38:17):
giving you a lesson in fish finders too. So when
you go buy something floating, look at the upper the
highest most range you can, like, down to like one
hundred and fifty feet, because wahoos sit, they will sit
directly under that floating thing maybe six eight ten, two
three that they're going to be one hundred feet down,
eighty feet down, and they kill vertical jigs. But you
got to put a couple feet a wire on because
(38:38):
they they eat it so hard that that you know
they'll cut you off every time if you don't.
Speaker 10 (38:45):
Well, I got a question of a fish flyer. Okay,
serious question, Okay, what do you want to know? Okay,
so you'll see a screen Joe right right, and you'll
see a lot of I guess call a flake fake blips.
How can you really distinguish a real fish on that screen?
It's some kind of abnomaly. It's not really a fish,
it's just kind of all you guys.
Speaker 12 (39:07):
Yeah, they are nowadays. You know, we used to have
to have these noise suppressors and we'd put them in
line to our from our charging circuitry. I know, I'm
getting into a lot.
Speaker 10 (39:16):
Of extra crap here, but I always like that.
Speaker 12 (39:19):
I have lived and died with fish finders for fifty years,
and I'm an absolute student of it, and I'm an
expert at it, I say, But nowadays all of them,
everything from five hundred bucks up, probably will never give
you that snow. Snow normally comes from external noise somewhere
like electrical noise. But nowadays they got these things tune
(39:43):
out most of that stuff.
Speaker 10 (39:44):
Man.
Speaker 12 (39:44):
And if you've got a through hale, especially a through
hale transducer, the ones on the stern, yeah there, you
got to be a little more meticulous about how they're mounted.
And Eric, I know you guys over there at at
at the store at the fish Story when they install
these death finders stuff. Those guys are experts, man, they
know how to install them. So that's most of it.
Speaker 10 (40:04):
Through holes all the time, always one.
Speaker 12 (40:06):
Yeah, it's expensive, yep. And let me tell you something
that'll knock the socks off anything down there. Down to
eight hundred feet setting, the noise is normally external. Now occasionally,
if you got your setting too high, you could actually
work thermo climbs. Out in deep water, you get layers
that look like fish and they're.
Speaker 10 (40:22):
Not at Yeah, those mistaken lines you think might be fish,
or just get that screech meg blips.
Speaker 12 (40:31):
Well, when you're out in deep deep deep water, I
would not bother buying your machine up to MAC sensitivity.
If you're just trying to see where you're at, Just
see where you're at. If you're looking for more bottom conto,
you split screen or you look at the bottom fifty feet.
Let's say if you're out there in six eight hundred
feet and you're curious if something's down there, because it'll
blow up whatever marks are on that four or five
(40:52):
or eight inch screen. It'll blow them up on half
your screen, and then you could you'll see when there's
something down there more than just a little It looks
a little bump when you're on let's say a complete
range of let's say zero to six hundred. But if
you split screen that and you look at the bottom
fifty feet on half the screen, you're going.
Speaker 3 (41:10):
To see the fisher. They're there.
Speaker 10 (41:12):
It will say, way, tiles, I will say way. One
of our great sponsors, sim Red, make some great use
They're awesome. The n SX units I use on many
of my boats. While I saw my boats, Oh crazy
crazy Ebo threes. They have got this thing down to
a science. And dude, do some great screen resolution.
Speaker 12 (41:29):
One of the problems, Eric, one of the problems is
people don't buy they turn them on and use them.
But man, if you they don't, they don't have a
one age thick book for bs. These things can do
at so much and once you learn how to use them,
look out, I mean you can.
Speaker 3 (41:44):
You can.
Speaker 10 (41:44):
I tell all on YouTube you want learn, I said,
forget to put the book down, okay to learn that machine,
just go YouTube. Okay, isn't that what we all do now?
Right through it? Man? Reads a manual. Man, come on, dude, really,
come on, bro geez.
Speaker 12 (42:01):
Eric, I had a crazy thought. You know what, how
about how about you have your guys hire me out
and I'll take them out for two hours and I'll show.
Speaker 10 (42:07):
Them everything that's a sameless, shameless child there right now here.
Okay for a side business. Yeah, okay, Wayne wants out there.
You go.
Speaker 12 (42:19):
Man, Hey, listen, I don't sell fish anymore for a living.
I don't do that anymore. I do take people fishing,
but I have a mass a ton of knowledge, a
bunch of bs and a bunch of knowledge that I
can put forward.
Speaker 10 (42:29):
We got that, right, you get that right way. We're
going to rock the clock. Been a blast, great report,
by the way, superstuff.
Speaker 12 (42:36):
All right, all right down to Miami Fishingmiami dot com.
Let's go fishing, guys. It's beautiful.
Speaker 1 (42:42):
What a pretty day.
Speaker 12 (42:43):
Man, Take your kids fishing.
Speaker 10 (42:45):
Yeah, all right, the clock is still rolling white, thank you.
By all right, Joe bringing blipping. We got Matthew waiting,
all right, waiting blippe. Dude, man, come on, lameous, some
positive between you just shot somebody to take it. Shoh,
(43:10):
it was friendly fire. Sorry anyway, Jim Bathy, You on
a dude, Jim. Yeah, Hey Joe, what's going on?
Speaker 25 (43:20):
You know?
Speaker 8 (43:20):
I see Jim like all over the place. We have
this connection show and we just always find each.
Speaker 32 (43:25):
Other and it's amazing, it's amazing.
Speaker 33 (43:28):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (43:29):
We won't talk about the pool noodles. Okay, keep talking
about pool.
Speaker 9 (43:32):
Yeah, we got to keep that secret.
Speaker 3 (43:35):
Keep that, keep that between you and me.
Speaker 10 (43:36):
Okay, it's like the hots up holding hands are you
talking about?
Speaker 11 (43:44):
We're not there.
Speaker 12 (43:46):
We're both happily married.
Speaker 10 (43:47):
But you know, don't worry so exactly. So much rock concert,
okay for a bag of lobster.
Speaker 8 (43:52):
Man, you never know what you'll do exactly exactly you
got to offer.
Speaker 11 (43:58):
Buddy, Hey, all right, all good.
Speaker 32 (44:02):
Last Saturday, I went out with U and this is
kind of interesting. So I go on out in real
nice day doctor Bill's Vote, and I've got a couple
of guys with me along with Monica, and we we
went we're going to you know, let's try this spot
because they've been in kind of shallow, they've been clustered together,
the lobsters. So I was like, okay, this is a
(44:24):
time where you know, these productive spots that we've had
for a while, let's give it a shot. And Doug
one and I put doctor Bill and carry on this
on this stuff, and they came up with one lobster.
I was like, oh, man, so disappointed. But here's the deal.
Here's the magic. About one hundred feet to the east
(44:46):
of that spot, we had found another spot, uh from
our Seymour mapping. Okay, that's that's the GPS stuff. And
we never even knew it was there, never knew it.
But it was like, oh, let's try this. What we
call that Brian's reef because Brian happened to be with me.
Speaker 5 (45:02):
If you're with me.
Speaker 32 (45:03):
And you know I find a new reef, I call
it Brian's reef, right, Okay, Well, holy smoke, Monica and
I I mean, we cleaned up. We couldn't stop.
Speaker 11 (45:12):
They were everywhere, and so one hundred feet.
Speaker 32 (45:14):
To the east or where I was, where I put
doctor Bill and Kerry, we loaded up.
Speaker 10 (45:20):
So here's the here is the message.
Speaker 32 (45:23):
You know, if you get into a spot and you go, oh,
there's nothing here, try a little to the east, try
a little to the west. But you've got to know
where you're going. I mean, you've got to have a
decent GPS system, and you've also you know, have to
know the terrain, know what you're looking for. But I
think the magic is they're still in shallow, which is good.
(45:43):
A buddy go out yesterday and he was down south
of the pomp Ando Pier in twenty five feet.
Speaker 3 (45:50):
Of water loaded up.
Speaker 5 (45:52):
Now I was last Saturday. I was in fifty feet
of water.
Speaker 32 (45:56):
So that you know, a difference of like I say,
one hundred. I was like, wow, that's the cool part
about terrain. It really changes a lot depending on you
know where you are, and we have.
Speaker 5 (46:08):
A lot to offer.
Speaker 32 (46:09):
The conditions have really improved, I mean a gentle, gentle
north current. Visibility has finally gotten better. There's no more rain,
so that's good.
Speaker 11 (46:20):
We're still at eighty degrees.
Speaker 32 (46:22):
Gang, we're still at eighty now getting close to all
of a sudden it's going to be chili on the Willie.
So I think, you know, you just be prepared for
eventually it's going to be under that eighty degrees. But
top side gonna be good. This week's been really good.
This week coming it's gonna be even better. So get
out there because this is the final push word of caution,
(46:45):
no hogfish still no hogfish.
Speaker 5 (46:47):
November first closed.
Speaker 32 (46:49):
Down, but the groupers, the groupers are still around amazing,
you know, until January first and no more grouper.
Speaker 10 (46:59):
So are you seeing a bunch out there, Jim, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (47:03):
We've been.
Speaker 11 (47:04):
I'll tell you what.
Speaker 32 (47:05):
We've been chasing some some decent sized grouper. The Black
Groupers are pretty smart, smarter than us. The Red Groupers
are not so smart. So they commit suicide, you know.
Speaker 10 (47:17):
Uh, but yeah, but on their own right they help
you at all, just walk up to you and say, hey,
just take me, put me in their bag.
Speaker 8 (47:25):
And yes, Jim, you should have seen Eric's face when
you said you guys cleaned up the reef.
Speaker 9 (47:31):
He did a complete meltdown.
Speaker 32 (47:32):
Like, listen, the muttons are out there, buddy, the snapper muttons.
Speaker 10 (47:44):
You're trouble baker. Okay, muttons.
Speaker 32 (47:48):
Muttons not and nice sized muttons. So don't ask me why,
because typically they like the things stirred up a bit. Uh,
you know, they're big into the sand and all that stuff.
Speaker 3 (47:58):
They don't really.
Speaker 32 (47:59):
Usually give you a good shot. But holy folks, we've
been seeing a ton of muttons and shallow shallow water.
Speaker 10 (48:06):
Like really Smolkes.
Speaker 3 (48:07):
What do you Yeah, what.
Speaker 5 (48:08):
Are you guys doing here?
Speaker 3 (48:09):
So?
Speaker 11 (48:10):
Uh, this is a good time.
Speaker 3 (48:11):
Uh.
Speaker 32 (48:12):
You know we still have like I say, lobster are abundant.
We still have fish out there on the menu. So
get out there, have at it.
Speaker 10 (48:20):
It's fun. I have written Governor of Stantus and I've
asked him to do a brand new legislative move to
make siger fishing only legal one day a year. Oh yeah,
I got it way back. I think it's really good
for us to stop shooting fish for a whole year
and just give up one day, just one day, Joe,
and you gotta win a lottery to do that too.
Speaker 9 (48:40):
But you need to have you and your name has
to start with an A.
Speaker 32 (48:45):
Yeah they listen do I are you gonna have to
cue the Roger video?
Speaker 10 (48:52):
Uh you know, mister Nautical Adventures. Yeah you know that
that agrees with me. You slipped from a bag of
buns for the interview. Okay, what are you talking about?
You get a bag of free bugs? He'd say, whatever you
want to. Jim is the ultimate politician.
Speaker 8 (49:07):
He'll be like, hey, uh, Roger hate here, take this
before you say bag of bugs?
Speaker 10 (49:11):
Right now? Hey, say what I want you to say, Okay,
I got to train like a wallrus. Okay, Jim, we're
gonna go. We're super long man, we're lately lately.
Speaker 32 (49:21):
Yeah, no, no, no, that's good.
Speaker 11 (49:22):
That's good.
Speaker 32 (49:23):
Everything's good.
Speaker 11 (49:23):
I'll see you out there.
Speaker 3 (49:24):
I'll be out there tomorrow.
Speaker 9 (49:25):

Speaker 39 (56:34):
It was twenty eight degrees yesterday morning.
Speaker 10 (56:37):
That's cold. Anybody I think my bones hurting that Yeah?
Speaker 39 (56:40):
Yeah exactly. The air just goes through your skin to
your bones and he chilled to the bone.
Speaker 16 (56:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (56:45):
Well, prior to your trip, did you cey fishing this
last week or what I did?
Speaker 39 (56:50):
Man? I fished. U fished my kayak last week in
the Big Dog Battle for Cancer. It was a boat tournament. Okay, Yeah,
I actually had a great day of fishing, but tournament
wiz didn't work out. It was the fisher just under
ten pounds. I got covered up in mahi. I caught
a kingfish. I mean there was barely any fish weight in,
so it was a good chance at it for the tournament.
(57:12):
But yeah, that sounds pretty much that worked out. But
everything went perfect. Man, it was a blast.
Speaker 9 (57:18):
So the tournament itself, though there wasn't many any fish.
Speaker 39 (57:21):
Wade, No, No, there was one boat that ran into
mc king was like way up north and then Lance
pretty much finished out the other places. He got a
couple of small lahoo and like an eleven pound kingfish
and they placed really good too.
Speaker 10 (57:37):
Okay, I saw a problem Sean online. Are you and
your wife involved with some tournament coming up or are
you planning a fishing together somewhere?
Speaker 39 (57:45):
Not my wife, but I'm fishing with the team next
week in the SKA Nationals out of Cape Canaveral, So
that'll be an all week event. And now we're going
up there Wednesday and tournaments Friday and Saturday. Teams from
all the southern country are coming over, like Georgia, North Carolina,
South Carolina, all those teams are coming here to compete
(58:08):
get some big, slimy kink fish.
Speaker 10 (58:09):
Big money.
Speaker 39 (58:10):
Yeah yeah, uh yeah, I don't know. You know, these
these kind of tournaments are weren't about the rag and
burris and anything. Okay, the money, the money's just part
of it.
Speaker 10 (58:20):
But I would fish. I wouldn't fish a bragging rights show.
I want to fish with the cash. Really, I want
to win money. Come on, man, So life's about money.
Speaker 9 (58:29):
What about the ego?
Speaker 10 (58:30):
You should know about the Joe, you're the money making machine.
Speaker 3 (58:33):
You have the ego?
Speaker 10 (58:34):
Man, you already have plenty of that already.
Speaker 39 (58:36):
All about the aurora. You got to get your aurora points.
Speaker 10 (58:39):
Up and yeah, come on Eric, whatever, Joe, thanks, we'll
talk about it off camera. Oh man. Anyways, so uh
called it PA. It's great. No fishing. Obviously you're not
gonna be casting a live into a frozen stream. I'm
sure about that.
Speaker 7 (58:52):
You know.
Speaker 39 (58:52):
Yeah, I don't think the I don't think you get
hurt very far. It's got to be frozen.
Speaker 10 (58:56):
It feels so cold out there, all right, Jellity, final
words for Sean before he goes to freeze his butt
off somewhere.
Speaker 8 (59:03):
Sean, you were saying you were seeing some mahis, So like,
what's your report from like last week and stuff like
that for Pompino for that area.
Speaker 39 (59:12):
When I was out there, was edge early morning and
like four hundred foot and it wasn't like anything crazy.
But take some chunks, get some old data out of
your freezers, just start chunking it up and sit there
and you just find a spot that looks better than
another one, maybe a little bit of a more clumped
up weed, or if you find something floating, just sit
(59:32):
there and chump up for a couple of minutes and
wait from the show up. Okay, these edges they'll run,
you know, all up and down the coast, so it's
hard to find the right spot. That's why you got
to find something just a little bit different, a little
bit sicker, a little bit better. And we were there's
me and another boat there covered up in the mahi.
It was.
Speaker 1 (59:49):
It was a blast.
Speaker 10 (59:50):
All right. We've not done this yet, and it's almost
become mandatory. We must plug at say, hi, where were Gazales?
And does Swivio ass three sixty seat? Because now every
week it was Sean, they're like tied it together like family. Okay,
so I want to make sure we gave that plug
out nice. And what a great seat it is, Sean.
You've attested the fact it's one of the most ingenious
(01:00:12):
seats that have ever been made for a kayak.
Speaker 39 (01:00:16):
I spent fourteen hours on it last Saturday and probably
did twenty plus miles and it didn't skip a beat
and I was energized and feeling great afterwards.
Speaker 10 (01:00:26):
There you go. See Boomer got his free pludge Joe
that we did forget it right, Yeah, he got his love. Great.
I'm actually gonna set him a bill one day. He
seems gonna be surprised. I think you will. I'm knowing you.
I'm going to drop a bill down the pipeline. Man,
you watch you, it's coming.
Speaker 39 (01:00:40):
Man seriously waits then hit him up for money.
Speaker 10 (01:00:43):
Yeah, always takes off are out of the globe. They'll
hit him up there later. Okay for a whopper feet Sean,
have a great weekend and enjoy time until pops. We said, hey,
and so glad he's back on his feet. Man do

Speaker 39 (01:00:55):

with with this so far.
Speaker 10 (01:08:48):
I watched somebody stream. He's got a real slouch of
that year, like he is almost ready to take a nap.
So he thinks that seems kind of like a Requiner
seat on it. You would think it, did you see that? Yeah,
like laid back and what were his feet to go up?
He's kind of like melts into the seat. I was
looking for a bag of popcorn, man, and he got
(01:09:08):
really comforting. I think he was comfy man. Yeah, dude, Bro,
We're gonna have to bring him up a little bit higher. Chair.
So have we got Betty back on the horn? And
we we don't have a connection. I don't know Betty, yes, no,
maybe all right, Well anyway, we'll make the best of
this whole thing. So Betty's an the road. It's probably

married down here this weekend. They got their whole family here,
all their friends here, they got the whole resort taken
over at Fishery Resort and some there's one hundred and
seventy guests come into this web. You know, if you're
listening and you're in the keys this weekend, this would
be a good spot to crash tonight.
Speaker 10 (01:10:06):
I imagine there's probably been one heck of a pre
pre wedding party going on down there.
Speaker 42 (01:10:10):

Speaker 42 (01:10:20):

peppers down here, not sausage and peppers, I'm sorry. Instead

good cheese steaks on the grill down here. Yeah, it's
definitely a good time, awesome.
Speaker 10 (01:10:39):

on that. When I dropped on this second is not
cheap to give you a prop here ocasion. This was
not a cheap gig anyway.

(01:19:43):
that's pretty pretty good their godfather. Vinny wanted to bros
up Man.
Speaker 6 (01:19:48):
Hey, good morning you guys.
Speaker 10 (01:19:50):
Good one to chief Vinny. So I saw a couple
of posts this week. You had a couple of days
with mahi and think kingfish, right.
Speaker 6 (01:19:57):
Uh, yeah, a couple of mais a couple of kingfish,
small black fin tunas. Spend a little bit of stuff
biting out there.
Speaker 10 (01:20:05):
Okay, is it slow down or is it getting better?
Speaker 9 (01:20:08):
Nothing?
Speaker 6 (01:20:11):
I would say it's a little bit slow. It's tough
fishing around these cold fronts. Seems like usually the sale
fish kind of fire up, but all the other stuff's
a little bit slow for right now.
Speaker 10 (01:20:23):
Yeah, well you're producing, you know fish of your customers
main thing is to put fish on that dock, which
is your favorite place to shoot those fish. After he
does a fishing day, that's right on the dock next
to the great of course, man thinks photo was happy
happy customers. I might end, but uh, is it it's
hard hard to catch fish?
Speaker 11 (01:20:40):
Bit?
Speaker 44 (01:20:40):
Is it?
Speaker 10 (01:20:40):
Like a tough day out there.
Speaker 6 (01:20:43):
It's just, uh, it just seems like when the weather's
changing all the time, the fishing is a little bit slow.
Usually a couple of days after the front it's pretty good,
but the day that the front comes, it's really tough fishing.
Speaker 10 (01:20:59):
We've got losing. Joe's figging out my verbiage. Okay, I'm
making some footballs here on the show. Is it tarred?
It didn't make very much sense, but he figured out
my words. He saw through it. Okay, No, you navigated
well like through it.
Speaker 3 (01:21:13):
You did good.
Speaker 10 (01:21:13):
He understood that my my verbiage was not very good,
but he covered my butt on that one.
Speaker 8 (01:21:18):
Okay, anyway, Vinny, anyway, go ahead, Joe, check off any
any Why there.
Speaker 6 (01:21:28):
There was a few earlier in the week, but the
further away we get from this moon that we just
had probably gonna slow down a little bit.
Speaker 40 (01:21:35):
Here.
Speaker 9 (01:21:36):
Yeah, I also noticed that there's not a lot of
big stuff being caught lately. Have you have you noticed that?
Speaker 6 (01:21:45):
Well, I've seen yesterday. Uh, this one charter boat the
Happy Day to Day, they were kite fishing. They get
caught a kingfish that was probably close to fifty pounds.
Speaker 10 (01:21:54):
What way, man, I didn't know that. It's not a unit, Vinny.
Speaker 6 (01:22:00):
That's the sort of certified unit right there.
Speaker 10 (01:22:07):
You knit.
Speaker 9 (01:22:08):
Hey, Vinnie, how about the sword fishing.
Speaker 6 (01:22:12):
That's uh, that's been real consistent. I actually have a
swordfish trip this week on Tuesday, so I'm gonna go
test my luck. But they've been biting. I know it's
a little bit rough because we had that heavy north wind,
but I think, uh, the next few days it's gonna
be pretty calm, so be a good window to get
out there and try.
Speaker 8 (01:22:32):
Let me ask you something, Vinnie, So if like just
the normal guy wants to go out and try to
catch a swordfish, right, what would be like?
Speaker 44 (01:22:39):
Uh?
Speaker 9 (01:22:40):
I know it's expensive every time you go out, even
getting that weight.
Speaker 8 (01:22:44):
But like, what's the setup you normally would use if
you were just like, you know, the normal middle class
guy that wants to go and try your luck.
Speaker 6 (01:22:53):
Well, I hate to say it, but the real that
you really want is an LP and are really expensive, right,
but you can get it done with some other stuff.
You know, you can use like international with like one
of those Dolphin electric hookups and and do it, but
you know, the LP is the best, best way to
do it.
Speaker 10 (01:23:12):
Okay, I've got to do a brand that is pricy,
but it fits my lifestyle. I've gone all Ali Technos.
By the way, I still my game way up, way
up there. Okay. And is Is Video will tell you
they're not cheap at all. What is it called Ali Technos?
I never heard of it.
Speaker 6 (01:23:30):
It's Italian, It's.
Speaker 10 (01:23:32):
You're supposed to be. Just make believe Italian guy, Joe,
you never heard of Ali Technos? Look at them online.
It's a very very high end, super expensive, badass fishing gear. Okay, yeah,
I mean what is it like an LP? Vinnie will
explain it to you. Explain it to Ali Technosos, Ali Technos,
(01:23:54):
Joe Video want to take over this co host chair
and jump in?
Speaker 3 (01:24:02):
Who might have to.
Speaker 10 (01:24:04):
Up anyway?
Speaker 9 (01:24:06):
I don't know what that is. I never heard.
Speaker 10 (01:24:07):
I'll show after the show anyway, Vinnie, have a great time, man,
give us your contact never to fish on your boat, sir.
Speaker 6 (01:24:14):
Yeah, give us the call direct nine five four five
five ninety seven hundred.
Speaker 8 (01:24:19):
Hey, real quick, Vinnie, I heard uh like closer in
though the bite's really good lately with like snapper and
bottom fishing and yellow maybe even yellow tail stuff like that.
Speaker 9 (01:24:29):
Have you done any of that lately?
Speaker 6 (01:24:33):
I personally haven't a lot of times when it's these
cold fronts come, I like to troll of the beach
and catch the zero mackerel and like twenty twenty feet
of water, but I haven't really done much bottom fishing
because he's had that north wind and the current spen north,
so it's been you know, went into the tide. It's
not really ideal conditions right now. But I did see
(01:24:55):
a couple of nice yellow eyes caught this week, like
scattered up and down the coast from Miami to Hours.
Speaker 39 (01:25:00):
So okay, there's some hope out there, all right, all right, man.
Speaker 10 (01:25:04):
Great report, videos, man, thanks so much, brother having thanks
all right, seriously.
Speaker 6 (01:25:08):
All right, you guys take care.
Speaker 10 (01:25:09):
Good guy. Well, our buddy Johnny's the bill's on the
light too there, Joey. He Johnny, Johnny, what's up, Johnny boy?
Speaker 31 (01:25:19):
Good morning. I am laying in bed contemplating going to
the Everglades right now. Nice the fish now, they're supposedly
phenomenal right now for big bass, and you know, this
cold front just really gets those fish fired up out there,
So I think we're gonna go the rest of the
(01:25:40):
week's been been pretty cold and kind of slowed down
some of the exotic fishing. But uh, otherwise, you can
still go out there and catch a bunch of fish.
Speaker 10 (01:25:50):
Sure you know he's in bed. He's in bed doing
a radio show, Joe, I love it. I wonder, are
you like a just a straight underwear wearing guy at
night or you wear like pj's when you're snooze?
Speaker 31 (01:26:02):
Straight straight underwear?
Speaker 10 (01:26:03):
Okay, that's why I thought.
Speaker 9 (01:26:05):
I don't think anyone wears pjs anymore.
Speaker 10 (01:26:06):
Man, some guys are you know, we're into the topic
bottom bone noj that doesn't exist. That's old school kind
of stuff you do that. I don't wow, No, man,
I'm commando.
Speaker 9 (01:26:17):
Yeah right, I can't believe you wear PG I'm.
Speaker 10 (01:26:20):
Swinging free bro topic. Shall we? Yeah? Please? Anyway, So
you're back. You were gone for a while, I guess
the keys and other places. But you're back home finally,
and have you fish this week at all?
Speaker 39 (01:26:33):
Yep?
Speaker 31 (01:26:34):
I got home on Thursday and yesterday just kind of
took a day to get my boat all put back together.
You know, when you're gone for so long, you come
forget what you have in the boat. So I just
did all that, got all my tackle rods rigged. I'm
ready to go. I just you know, I wanted to
sleep in this morning. Been getting up at like six
(01:26:56):
in the morning every morning to to work. So now
that I'm back, probably just do this morning show with
you guys and hit the road. But you know, I
did talk to a couple of my buddies while I
was gone, as I normally do for the morning report
and the Lake Eyda Chain, which is my normal you
(01:27:17):
know kind of guiding stomping grounds is actually fishing really well,
even for exotics. The rest of Broward County has kind
of slowed down. You know, Broward in particular has a
lot of like more shallow ponds and shallow lakes. Where
Lake Ida gets down to there's actually a couple of
(01:27:38):
areas that it gets down to thirty feet in depth,
which is pretty deep. So those fish can kind of
escape that that first layer of cold water that hits
the surface, and then eventually, you know, they'll find themselves
midwater column where the bottom becomes cold and you know
the middle is still that like thermoclinic layer of you know,
(01:27:59):
warm that they are looking for. So I would say,
if you can catch bait that's going to be your
best bet, or just store about Shiner's work. To go
out there, put a little bb sized split shot on
a on a rig and send those live baits to
midwater column and you should have a really good day
catching plenty of peacocks and largemouth bass. The hybrid bass
(01:28:24):
that we have the we call them sunshine bass, but
those on Lake Ea they love this cold weather. So
if you're going to just go out and do something,
you can easily go out and catch a bunch of
those hybrids this time of the year with the weather
being really cold.
Speaker 10 (01:28:38):
You catch a million dollar Joe, he thought at the
million dollar word in the morning. Thermal climate. Yes, that's
a big fat word this time, I could even fathom
saying that, man, And we know, thank you, Joe, thermal climate.
Good job, Johnny. That's a biggie man, nice big word.
Speaker 3 (01:28:54):
I like that.
Speaker 8 (01:28:55):
And I gotta say, those sunshine bass are a great
fight man. They don't get huge, but I've caught a
couple of those at Lake Aida.
Speaker 10 (01:29:03):
Shiner, I mean, of course, what gosh about him using shiners.
He's no skills of the lower He couldn't pull a
jerk bait from a purple worm.
Speaker 9 (01:29:17):
I admit that, so I use shiners.
Speaker 10 (01:29:19):
Why don't you start learning?
Speaker 9 (01:29:21):
I don't want to work lures, Joe, dude, I'm like.
Speaker 10 (01:29:24):
The four zero. I don't need to do that anymore.
Want to shoot back anyway? That makes show a less
qualified co host. If you can't work now, no, I don't.
Speaker 9 (01:29:33):
And if I want to try it, I don't want to.
I want to fish to go out Johnny and.
Speaker 10 (01:29:38):
Get eating Johnny referee here. Should he learn how to
pull artificial laws and work those baits or not? Yes
or no? Please sir? So I don't diplomatic.
Speaker 31 (01:29:49):
I had fisher Joe before, and Joe official just fine.
The hybrids, you can catch him on artificsh You just
got to get there before the sun starts to come up,
So you got to be the at like six o'clock
the thirty where as that stone starts to turn blue.
You can throw a top water for him and you know,
in like subsurface baces and they'll they'll eat it. But
(01:30:11):
the hybrids they're kind of picky because they just their
whole life. They're just up on the shad schools in
Lake Ida anyway, So it's uh it's kind of tough.
You almost have to fish live bait some days for like,
they don't always just show up next to the boat
unless you have live baits.
Speaker 9 (01:30:29):
So I thanks, Johnny.
Speaker 31 (01:30:30):
If I'm going fishing, I'm gonna throw artificial personally, but
on a trip, I'm going to be fishing mostly live baits.
Speaker 10 (01:30:39):
You still covered his butt on that thing, Johnny, What
do you mean he's speaking every proud of you for
the difficult You are right down the middle. I've seen
Joe throw a couple of lures here and there. It
has he's got a little skills bring it at a
you know, a top water popper occasionally or a chatter bait.
Speaker 8 (01:30:57):
By the way, though, Johnny Prido, I can't say too much,
but you know, like our spot where the tarpenhar in
the pond, Yeah, dude, there those large mouth bass in
there have been unbelievable, Like every single one has been huge, huge, wow,
Just so you know.
Speaker 31 (01:31:17):
So, yeah, those big bass they hide all year and
then in the winter time they just earned like the fall. Really,
when it starts to get those first couple of cold fronts,
they just shot up like hey, yeah we live here too,
or we're in this lake until October.
Speaker 10 (01:31:33):
Again, we're rocking o' clock here, Johnny. But thanks so
much again me for jumping on board. You're always a
great rate captain, so knowledgeable and quite the diplomat. I
might add with your thermo climate report this morning. Okay,
thanks Johnny, Thank you Johnny very much. I'll tak a
little break to see how long this cool front may
last where there's a little behind it. Joe with Jed
(01:31:55):
coming up? Hello, what hed cool Friday?
Speaker 9 (01:32:00):
What is wrong with you today?
Speaker 10 (01:32:01):
It's called got some pre uh cold after cold funk
in my brain has got some cheese it up there. Okay,
you always pick up my words, but always you just
pick up. No, you never make an error, okay, speaking
your I do all the time. It's just when I
do it, I like admit it where you kind of
like I just gloss man. But you're like a just
(01:32:22):
feet on You're like a shark man.
Speaker 9 (01:32:23):
Yeah, but I'll make fun of myself when I mess up,
I go fight, you know.
Speaker 10 (01:32:26):
So we just tease the fact that jet's coming up
next and skip who could plug his businesses company next?
With the phone number of mind?
Speaker 9 (01:32:32):

north northeast winds five knot, seas around a foot near
shore water is smooth and in Florida Bank today, north
northeast winds cannot baywaters that like chops, and tomorrow variable
winds nearby not baywater smooth. So great weekend out there.
Speaker 10 (01:38:11):
Yeah, beautiful. Is there another super duper really nasty cold
for coming this way? Like some we're like in the fifties, forties, thirties,
And we said once or.
Speaker 47 (01:38:20):
Twice, I don't think that's coming in the near term.
I think we might have to just hold our breath
on that one. You guys are gonna warm up a
little bit over the next.
Speaker 10 (01:38:29):
Couple of weeks, all right, So how's how's it landed?
These days? I gotta be nippy, right, Yeah.
Speaker 47 (01:38:35):
We've got these nice cool mornings where it's like forty
five fifty degrees and then we warm up around seventy
in the afternoon. Sonny, It's we're in like the most
beautiful stretch, really nice. The leaves are a beautiful changing color.
It's just a really beautiful season.
Speaker 8 (01:38:51):
I'll say, what the I'm sorry, Joe, that's the one
thing I miss about up north is the season season shady.
Speaker 10 (01:38:56):
Yeah, I'm so great, But I'll say this is the
longest stretch Jess been India the country without traveling around
the planet with their family to various remote places like
Africa and Antarctica and Greenland, and she's been stay put
for a while. Joe.
Speaker 9 (01:39:10):
Well, you know, if they invent teleportation, Jen would be
able to just do.
Speaker 10 (01:39:16):
Right about that?
Speaker 9 (01:39:18):
Yeah, yeah, it'd be great. She's a I can't even
meet her. I could even meet her in Alaska.
Speaker 10 (01:39:22):
Be like her kids. Then her kids, they are seeing
more of the world at their young age I have
ever seen in my entire adult life.

do it, all right, mister Skippy happy Hello Skip Hey.
Speaker 1 (01:40:27):
Good morning, guys. Better you're talking about pizza. The pizza.
Best pizza in the world is in New York right
there in Brooklyn everywhere else anyway, Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:40:34):
I agree with you, New York's the best.
Speaker 3 (01:40:36):
I know you would.
Speaker 1 (01:40:37):
I could tell, I could tell you you got ease
in that way, and so you.
Speaker 12 (01:40:41):
Know what I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (01:40:42):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, all right baby, So all.
Speaker 1 (01:40:45):
Right, there's what's happening down here in the Keys of
sailfish pouring through Pelly fish one day this week and
I caught we caught three. But the point is there's
plenty of selfish, not a lot of business, very very
quiet right now, which is an unusual. But the sailfish
are poring through mad We got like ten tournaments coming
up here starting the first week in Decembity Charter Bow
(01:41:06):
Association tournament. From there on all the way from a
Key log In to Key West, about ten tournaments. So
I hope the selfish continue on like this because there's
not much anything else. He kind of you expect not
to be so well this time. You with this cool water.
The black fin tuna, some days they're out there around
the humps and some days they're not. Yellow tail always consistent.
We can catch them pretty much anytime you have. They're
(01:41:28):
just the vote for the currents and all that. But
the yellow tailer like a fail safe in other words,
and everything else fails. And say somebody says, Captain, I
don't want to catch any selfish. I want to go
get some meat fish. Then the yellow tail is something
we could catch in The black group are in season
right now, just for a little bit longer, so we
got things to do out there. But the selfish is
a red hot, red hot right now. Guys.
Speaker 9 (01:41:49):
Awesome, man, we like that selfish that time.
Speaker 10 (01:41:53):
Yeah man, Yeah, So I mean Mahu slowed down to
slow down black fin any wahoo's skip.
Speaker 1 (01:42:00):
You know, that's a good question there, You know, the
who I'm thinking about much to talk to you guys
about today. You know, sometimes people say, Skipper, we want
to target my well springing summer right now, I wouldn't
target or I want to target black fintuna, and we
can do that most of the time. But and while
who people say we want to kisch those and we
target while Whoo. But you can go all day long
and not have a bit in a while. But it's
(01:42:20):
a fish people ask for once in a while. But
I don't like target any where who. Necessarily they are
someone who out there. But it's a very very much
It's hard to tell you how good it is when
you're getting so few boats out I'm just telling you
what's fighting out there is the sale fish. And I
would say why Who. I would think there's probably some
why who out there, but we're not getting enough boats
out there to keep minus let's put it that way.
Speaker 10 (01:42:41):
Guys, gotcha all right? Skiff, So saw about a happy topic.
You were doing the show last week with Joe and
I good friends. Skip was great.
Speaker 9 (01:42:48):
He loved the show.
Speaker 10 (01:42:49):
And I heard some rubber on the show that you
mentioned the fact I never give you a chance to
get your phone number on the radio.
Speaker 9 (01:42:55):
That was Denny.
Speaker 10 (01:42:56):
Is that correct? You mentioned I don't give you a
chance to plug.
Speaker 9 (01:42:59):
Scamp now that I'm here, I just want to tell them.
Speaker 10 (01:43:03):
I'll make sure you're able to do.
Speaker 9 (01:43:04):
That, buddy.
Speaker 10 (01:43:04):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:43:07):
Hey, hey, Eric, that's a true story.
Speaker 3 (01:43:10):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:43:10):
I didn't pay much attention to it, but I said,
you know what you gets everybody's phone mine? Maybe think
you know that I know need it? Well, really, I'm retired,
but I do have these beautiful voats I work on,
so I'm available. So there you go. So can you
ask for your phone number today?
Speaker 7 (01:43:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (01:43:26):
What's your phone number?
Speaker 11 (01:43:28):
Man?
Speaker 10 (01:43:28):
Curiosity? Please?
Speaker 31 (01:43:31):
Well?
Speaker 1 (01:43:31):
I got three? Why don't you give me the number
on my phone now? Three? Five four eight one five
one five one. That's the only number you need. That's
the phone. I'm talking to you right now in front
of the gym, and I'm headed that way that you
by the way, here in my truck is seventy degrees
and that's asciety. It's going to get Atlanta. So i'd
rather be here, I do believe right now. But it's
(01:43:53):
seventy degrees and going to get about eighty and there's
no breeze down here, and it's a beautiful day in
the Florida Keys. That's all I can tell ye.
Speaker 10 (01:44:00):
I'm sorry, skipping. Was that number again? I'm sorry.
Speaker 9 (01:44:02):
I'm just n and I got one question for you.
Speaker 10 (01:44:04):
No, never a good Joe?
Speaker 3 (01:44:05):
Okay?
Speaker 10 (01:44:06):
Was that never a good skipping?
Speaker 3 (01:44:07):
Right?
Speaker 10 (01:44:07):
Come on, mag what were time?
Speaker 1 (01:44:10):
Three of five? Four eight one five five?
Speaker 10 (01:44:12):
Wood?
Speaker 1 (01:44:13):
Okay?
Speaker 10 (01:44:13):
Okay, now you have me Joe.
Speaker 8 (01:44:15):
Yes, no, wait, I got so skip, you got it,
you got question, you got it. You gotta tell me
the secret here. This is not Fisher related. It's a
quick gym question.
Speaker 10 (01:44:23):
You're eighty two and you're still going.
Speaker 3 (01:44:25):
To the gym?
Speaker 1 (01:44:26):
Eighty three?
Speaker 11 (01:44:28):
Oh eighty three? Okay?
Speaker 10 (01:44:29):
And I'm a big gym guy. How like I envy that?
Speaker 9 (01:44:32):
Like, how what's the secret? How do you still get
up go there and do your thing?
Speaker 39 (01:44:37):
Like?
Speaker 3 (01:44:37):
What is it?
Speaker 1 (01:44:38):
I you know what I knew about five years ago.
It was getting ready on one of my business after
fifty five years at will Harbor, Marina, and I said,
you know, I'm fearful that what am I? What am
I going to do when I have this time? And
I said, I'm going to try and look into the gym.
And I went to the gym and I tried it
and I said, you know, I'm going to sign up
for three months. I signed up for three months and
