Speaker 1 (00:00):
Grahamby and Sarah Lee special thank you. We took this
show on the road. Was out at Walmart yesterday for
Second Harvest Food Bank, and thank you to everyone that
came out.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Big shout out to Bobby and Michael Turner and my
friend Lisa.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
We went shopping in the Walmart. Yeah, it was really
really cool and just like we said, every little bit
helps and it was a wonderful day yesterday. So thank
you for participating, and good luck to anyone that's also
going to be doing any food drops because we want
to make sure that the holidays are amazing this year.
What's the Carolinas talking about today? Sarah Lee's top three.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Let's go. It is Friday Eve. It's going to be
a beautiful day.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
I am ready for it. Going to be a great
end of the week. Let's finish strong.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Well, I've got great news. The government is officially open
again after a very lengthy forty three day shutdown. This
is actually the longest we've ever had a government shutdown.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
So we're back, baby, We're got back.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
So hopefully that means that Graham's flight will be on
time when he leaves tomorrow. We're headed to Nashville this weekend.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Yeah, it's gonna be a great trip.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
This is the Amazer next week. We cannot wait to
be out there. And Graham, I saved this just for you.
I've got to know your thoughts. The Hornets just rolled
out their new city edition jerseys for the new season.
Have you seen them?

Speaker 1 (01:15):
I have not seen the City editions, but I usually
love the City editions of all the NBA teams.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Okay, it's very bold. They say it's inspired by the
bird of Paradise flower, which I didn't realize was apparently
the favorite flower of Queen Charlotte.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
So I learned something new there. You go informative, and
you know I love fun facts. I will have to
check those unis out there. It is what do you think?
That's a tough one for me right now? Immediate reaction
probably not.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
I mean it's bright, it is you'll be seeing you
can wear it at night, you won't get hit by
a car.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Reflective.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
It's very orange and big congratulations to our Charlotte Hornets.
They barely did it, but they beat the Bucks last night.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
By what Graham one point eleven points eleven to one
hundred and Bridges led the way with twenty points so
buzz City. We'll take the dubs. Let's go Tso Passes.

(02:40):
That show is December fourteenth. It is Throwback Thursday, so
we're gonna do some Throwback Thursday. Serial trivia which Cereal

This Cereal says it's magically.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Delicious Christie Margie, Christy Lucky Charms, you got it.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
This Cereal's commercials featured a mischievous rabbit who always wanted
a taste but never got any Christie Margie trick tricks.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Silly rabbit tricks are for kids? Which colorful Cereal has
a bird mascot who always follows his nose Margie? Margie, Oh, no, yeah,
that's right. Oh yes, I jumped in there too early.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
I guess well I thought she said it, so I
was like, oh, it gets credit, all right? Next answer wins.
It is two to two and again we're playing for
Trans Siberian Orchestra Passes December fourteenth. Which Cereal can mikey
eat it? Is? The slogan christis for the windy Whety's

Speaker 3 (03:56):

We're talking about adult life skills that we do not have.
It's grammy and surly. Sound off. Seraly is a master
at ironing, which that were to adult life skills you

(04:33):
don't have? Give us a call sound off? Sound off
adult life skills that you do not currently have as
an adult. It's grammby and saraly, why are you laughing?

Speaker 2 (04:41):
There are a lot of them I like, but I
cannot iron to save my life. I'm left handed. They
need to make left handed irons. I promise. That's the
only reason I can't iron.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
I know how to iron. I don't iron A lot
of things. I didn't know they made right handed or
left handed irons. I don't know if they do. The
cord is in my way. I'm pretty sure. I'm pretty
sure the cord is right in the middle.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
I have burnt so many of my clothes that now
I just give up.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
I would say. Mine that I still lack is the
ability to effectively talk to girls like I was like, Uh,
give us a call. Normal adult skills that you don't
have in your life one eight hundred and five seven
zero nine six nine zero ninety six point nine A
cat sound off Adult life skills that you do not have?

(05:31):
Is this? Carter? Yes, sir? What is going on? Carter?
Hit us sound off? An adult life skill that I
think I don't have and a lot of people don't have.
It's fulling fitted sheet.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Oh I cannot do that at all? Are you talking
about the whole set?

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Graham's looking like, what I obviously don't have this skill
because I'm in the dark right now.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Well, could you sleep on a couch but a fitted
sheet that goes on your bed?

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:55):
When you wash it?

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Like, how do you fold it? Because it's like curve?
Oh yeah, Well that's just an unsolvable problem. I don't
think that that's an adult skill that you don't have.
I'm going to give you a break in a pass here.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
I just shove all the sheets that go to the
set in the fitted sheet and I shove it in
the closet.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
How old are you, Garter? I am twenty one.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Well you still got some years to learn how to
do it.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
You got plenty of time. You're good, Guarter. Thanks you're
calling in. I'm not accepting that one. I'm not accepting
that one.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Why that is an adult skill you should have?

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Folding a curved sheet?

Speaker 2 (06:31):
It's hard, but there are tutorials.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
We need better ones. Give us a call. Adult life
skills that you do not currently possess one eight hundred
and five seven zero nine six nine zero sound off, Shane,
what's going on? But we're talking about adult life skills
that you don't currently possess. Sound off, man.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
Look, I try to pride myself and being able to
do a little bit of everything. But I think one
of y'all done said I.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Think at ironing man, I can't do it. I just
can't do it.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
I've ruined so many shirts, even T shirts that have
the print on it. I didn't realize you're not supposed
to iron over the print without like putting a towel
down and it just smears the ink all over the shirt.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Been there, done that. I'm right there with you. You're
in good company. I think a lot of people struggle
with ironing man.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
My mom canna put the nicest creases and pleads, and
she tried to teach me growing up. Nope, I never
got it.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Yes, the same and using the starch, I can't even
get the line in the proper place.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
Yeah, and then they're uncomfortable when you use that starch
makes them too hard.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Well, thankfully we have steamers.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Now that's what I use. I just use the steamer
exactly the same here, same. Always good to hear your voice.
Have a great weekend, buddy, y'all have a great weekend.
I thought it was already Friday. No, it's Thursday. We
can saldof one eight hundred and five seven zero nine
six nine zero adult skills besides ironing, I feel like

(07:58):
no one can.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Iron now, and you're the only I'm proud of you, Graham.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
My mom taught me well, adult life skills that you
do not currently possess. Sound off, being Sarah Lee. Sound off,
We're talking about adult life skills that you don't currently possess.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
I'm challenge every day. I'm like Sarah Lee. I'm left handed.
My name's Cleete, and I'm out here, and I have
trouble with scissors. I'm a left handed scissor man. But
I'm gonna try to find one of left handed iron
because I need one.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
I don't even know if they make them. But life
is so much harder being a left handed person. Even
writing in spiral notebookshaf to turn the spiral notebook to
the side, just so you don't hurt your hand.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
Exactly right, not just that. Only thing that we get
good in live being left handed is the terms we
can drive with one hand.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
That is so true. But things are calling. Where are
you calling from?

Speaker 4 (08:44):
I'm calling from Stanley this cleat and y'all got the
best morning show going.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Thank y'all.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Well, you got the best baseball park in Stanley, Harper Park.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
That's right. Doug, Deson and Brandon do it up well.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
They do.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Those sun Drop slushies are the absolute best them.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
Coaches is pretty good to don't forget about them.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Things are callings, Christy, we're talking about adult life skills
that you don't have. Sound off.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
I am also left handed and I have not mastered
putting on a necklace by myself. They're all right handed necklaces,
and I cannot do it.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
I feel so not alone in the world now. I
did not realize so many people were left handed. I
can't do it either.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
And last, you can take like your charm off and
turn it around. I cannot put on a necklace alone.
I have to have my son put it on.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Is the bracket always on one side of the necklace?
Is that universal? Is that why it's so challenging? Yes? Oh,
I don't know. I never knew that. Yes.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
And like left handed people also struggle, Graham. When we
write we if you use a pen, it smears all
the words because your hand drags on it.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
I think up until the fifties they used to reteach
people to be right handed because they just would not
allow you to write left handed. That's wild.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Yeah, and trying to write in a spiral note book.
I just turned mine backwards and start from the back
to the front.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
It was so funny.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
I literally said earlier, I had to turn it to
this side because it would hurt my hands so bad.
Thanks for calling Christy struggle.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
You're a welcome.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
The struggle is real. I'm starting a left handed company
just making products for left handed people. You'd make a
lot of money. They probably already exists, but I'm starting
to learn it's hard out here for left handers. Ninety
six point nine the cat sound off. Yeah, I was
just gonna with Sara Lena.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
If you go to the opposite side of the iron
and board, you should probably aron easier.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Oh oh man, I'm embarrassed a man. I never thought
of that, And you're right because the cord wouldn't.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Be on the other side.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
My daughter is left handed, but I'm right handed. So
what I teach her saying I had to teach your
opposite than what I would teach anybody else.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Oh, my parents did me a disservice because they did
not teach me.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
Thank you for calling Cat Country coming in with the
life hacks. Yeah, I love it. Ninety six minutes NonStop
cat Country. It's GRAMM, B and Saly, the end of
an era. It's ninety six point nine a cat it
is with a heavy heart.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Wow, that's a really big setup right there.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
Yeah, something that has existed our entire lives came to
an end yesterday, no longer will be You have.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Any guesses, No, And I really don't know if I
want to know?

Speaker 1 (11:22):
What is it? The US penny is gone. It is
It's gone. The last penny was printed yesterday in Philadelphia,
two hundred plus years old, no longer to be printed.
It has been removed from US currency. The end of
an era, the end of the world.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Man, you need your pennies. I'm collecting all of them
because they're going to be worth a lot of money
one day.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
The first penny was printed in Philadelphia in seventeen ninety two,
and the last one was printed on November twelfth, yesterday,
never to be printed again by the US currency and mint.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Queen Star will get no more pennies from me?

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Is that wild? Our whole lives. No more pennies said,
I'll keep him.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
I have a lot in my house.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
The end of an era. It's ninety six minutes of
NonStop cat country. If you need a minute, so do we.
The wildest thing you will hear today, it's Graham By
and Sarah Lee. You mentioned it. You trust your friends,
but never to this level. This is an unprecedented level
of trust.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
A lot of times you'll say I trust my best
friend with my life, but you don't literally mean it
in the sense of trusting your friend with your life.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
But this guy did so. Travis Pastrana, an extreme sports star,
jumps out of an airplane. No parachute, not happening.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
I love this skydive, the adrenaline Russia is amazing, but
I want to be connected to someone that has a
parachute on.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
So the stunt and I'm using stunt because it was
a real stunt. He was trusting his friends who are
jumping out of the plane with him with parachutes that
the only way he was getting down safely is if
they saved him, because they were gonna attach a parachute
to him on the way down, And coming.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
From some who just recently went skydiving. When you're falling
out of the airplane and you're looking at Earth, you're
going like one hundred and twenty miles an hour. Imagine
putting a parachute on someone going one hundred and twenty
miles an hour.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Towards the ground. So he jumps out, he does all
types of somersaults. He looks like he's having a great time.
There is no parachute on him, he's got no shirt on.
He's just free Willie he is. You got to see
the video, so we posted it to our Instagram. It
is the wildest thing and honestly one of the wildest
things I've ever heard of anyone doing. It's up on
Gramby and Sarahly you can check out the full video

(13:34):
ninety six point nine The Cat and we do have
Charlotte Hornet's News the City. Editions for our uniforms this
season have been unleashed. Mixed reviews, I would say is
a fair way to describe them.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
They're very bright, bright orange. But there's a reason behind it.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
Graham, you were telling me, and again I would have
not known, but please, by all means for anyone that.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Missed it, I guess it was inspired by the bird
of Paradise flower, which apparently was the favorite flower of
Queen Charlotte.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
You learn something new every day. I do enjoy fun facts,
but I would say mixed reviews on the uniforms.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Well, you'll stand out at night. It's a great reflector.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
They are listed or posted on our Instagram. You can
check it out. There's a poll up there. I'm just
curious to see you're anonymous. Would you vote yes? You
like them? No? I do not like it.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
It just reminds me of the Bobcat era and that
wasn't the best for Charlotte.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
So I'm an that's a very nice way to put it. Well,
something that does not have mixed reviews. Free cash, and
we do have free cash coming up one thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Nine twenty this morning, so set your reminder is coming up.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Graham B and Sarahie ninety six point nine the cat
Carrie Underwood all American girl and she is the former
host of the CMA's Lady Wilson taking over that matchle
doing it solo this time though.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
There is nothing that girl can't do. She is amazing
and we're packing up. We're headed to Nashville. This weekend
for the week of the CMAS. Now I pack my
higher closet, even though I know I'm not gonna wear
ninety seven percent of the things I'm packing.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
That was what I was gonna ask you, because I
pack a book bag and multiple suitcases and you're not flying,
so you can take whatever you want.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
That's partially I'm scared to fly, but another reason, I
can take as many items as I want and I
don't have to pay that luggage fee.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
I would imagine there's a lot of things on your
packing list. Can you give us the top three things
on your packing list that you know you have to
take when you travel?

Speaker 2 (15:29):
At least seven pairs of shoes because you never know
which pair you're gonna need. Okay, I need lots of hats,
cowboy hats and my trucker hats.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
And then I mean that's pretty good because you do
take multiples of all of those things.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
I'm trying to think, what else do I need?

Speaker 1 (15:45):
Money?

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Don't forget your debit card. I lose my debit card
every dagom day, so I definitely need to make sure
I have that.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
You do go through some debit cards. For me, It's
very simple and because you taught me this, I have
to take my passport now because I gotta fly. You
need your passport and a pair of jeans, and I'm good.
The rest of it works out.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
And it is so funny because I thought you were
joking when you first said that, and we went to
Dallas and you literally just take a book bag, yeah, a.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Couple t shirts, a pair of jeans. I usually just
wear the shoes that I'm wearing, so there's a two
person in there. Doesn't take up too much room. And
we Gucci, it's different for guys ninety six point nine
the cat. We do have another opportunity out of thousand
dollars coming up at a ten o'clock hour. We're giving
it away thirteen times a day as part of our
thirteen kpay day. It's gramby Ince Early Laney Wilson, the

(16:32):
host with the most for the cmma's and we are
gonna head to Nashville for CMA Week. Gonna be an
exciting time, so hold.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
On tight, buckle up. It is gonna be a party. Now.
We mentioned earlier a brand new song by Carly Pearce.
The only place you're gonna hear it is right here.
And that's coming up at ten.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
And that's not the only world premiere. I think we
got a world premiere tomorrow from Nate Smith and Tyler Hubbard.
I cannot wait to hear this world premiers all over
the place. Carli Pierce coming up with a radio exclusive,
and then a world premiere tomorrow from Nate Smith and
Tyler Hubbard. It's Graham being Sarah Lee. We will see
you tomorrow

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
