The morning Breeze Breeze on Demand sixor eight on the Base number one four
relaxing Favorites in the morning, it'sJack Help and Carolyn McCardell. And you
know what the seven years Carolyn thatI've been working with you, Yeah,
that Elton John's song is still oneof my favorites. I know. Every
time it comes on, Jack says, I love this song, and then
we sit in silence, enjoy themusic on the Breeze. See Carolyn,
(00:24):
quiet down, please. I know. I can't believe it's your final couple
days here at the Breeze. Itjust we were talking off the air.
It just doesn't seem real. Fridayis my official retirement date. Unbelievable.
I don't think it's to me yet. I know, I'm sure. I'm
sure. Eight seven seven nine eightone h nine eight one. Debbie and
Conquered, Good morning, Hi Carolyn, Hi Jack. Well, I'm just
(00:47):
so so happy for you, butalso I'm gonna miss you. Oh I'll
miss you too, Debbie. Youknow. And I have three things for
you, okay. First one isas much fun as you can with Kim
Okay. Next, clearly, don'tlet your cats push you around. The
cats can be bullies late. Andthe last thing is when Christmas time comes,
(01:12):
when you use your ladder to putthe lights up, be careful.
I will right, thank you foryour concern. Every year it goes without
fail. Jack will come in overthe holiday season, tell me he put
the lights up and he's sore fromclimbing the ladder. Yeah, Carolyn calls
me Clark Griswall. Yes, he'sso the Clark of Christmas. He really
(01:34):
is. Oh, we're the sameway. Can you believe it's May and
we're talking about Christmas. Merry Christmas, everybody, Happy holidays. We have
Christmas trees coming up every hour, all the hour that night. You guys,
take care, remember Jack, don'tforget all the things I told you.
That's right, cats ladder And whatwas the third thing? Have fun
(01:59):
with your wife? My wife?Okay, I didn't need to be reminded
of that. Oh you're trouble, just totally busted up. That's great anyway,
take care, Okay, thank you. I love you guys too.
Bye. I love the well. It's too early for Kim to be listening
(02:20):
right now anyway, so I thinkit might be off the hook. We
are celebrating Jack for the remainder ofthe week, as this is his last
week here on The Morning Breeze. The show will go on. I'll still
be here, but you get togo enjoy your life and retire and just
you know, live your best life. Thank you so much. I'll miss
you so I can't tell you howmuch I'll miss you. And now and
(02:40):
the audience, it just it's justbeen so good to not just me,
but to both of us. It'sbeen incredible, and the outpouring on social
media has been phenomenal. So thankyou all. We are on Facebook ninety
eight one The Breeze. You canreach us at eight seven seven nine eight
one nine eight one five. Herethe base's number one for relaxing favorites in
(03:01):
the morning. One of our favorites, Yes, sir, from the Eagles.
It's Jack Help and Carolyn McCardell.Well, you know, a few
days ago, Bed Bath and Beyondfile for bankruptcy. I think everybody knows
that. But then the question cameup whether or not the coupons, Well,
certainly they won't be valid at BedBath and Beyond, but those twenty
percent off coupons that came in themail all the time that fill up your
(03:23):
junk drawer ours anyway, some otherretailer is going to be able to honor
those. Yeah, apparently a lotof people have bed Bath and Beyond coupons
laying around because this became a wholething. Like when Bed Bath and Beyond
announced that they were filing for bankruptcy, the first thing I read was not
like, oh, that's so sadthey're filing for bankruptcy. It was like,
(03:44):
what do I do with all mycoupons? Yeah? Right, so
they filled a garage with Yeah, build a house with it. So where
you can use the Bed Bath andBeyond coupons are at the Container Store,
at Big Lots, and at JoanneFabrics, which I think they just go
by Joanne now but they used tobe Joan Fabrics and something. With some
of these retailers, you have toremember that there are they will enforce the
(04:08):
expiration data the coupons. Some willnot. For example, Container Store they're
going to honor them through May thirtyfirst, which is okay. So there's
little like tricks or Yeah, BigLots disclaimers, Yeah, Big Lots will
honor them even if they're expired.Oh that's cool. But Joanne will not.
Oh, they have to be usedby or at least through their expiration
(04:30):
date. It looks like a lotof these two. We're getting into the
weeds on this, but it lookslike a lot of these two with these
stores where you can take your biglot excuse me, your bed, bath
and beyond coupons that it's like asingle item. You can't go in and
use it on your whole purchase orwhatever. So just read the fine print.
Yeah, look it up online andbe prepared before you go in.
But that being said, I thinkit's kind of nice that these retailers are
(04:53):
saying, let us help out andtake your business. Yeah, well these
were direct competitors of big bad bathand being Yeah, so smart marketing on
their part. Oh yeah, gotmore on this. So you can read
that fine print on the Morning Breezepage at ninety eight one the Breeze dot
com and certainly reach out to usif you would like on the telephone eight
seven seven nine eight one h nineeight one. Coming up this morning at
(05:17):
eight fifty here on the Breeze,as we do every weekday morning, we're
going to be commercial free for atleast ninety eight minutes. Yes, that's
a long long time. It's wonderful. And you know we do it twice

That means a lot. Hey,bye bye, and don't forget we're
going to be going commercial free aswe like to do here on the Morning

commercial free relaxing favorites on the wayhere on the Morning Breeze, FO Jack
Help and Carol mccartell on the MorningBreeze the home for the Brighter Side,
which is coming up next. Thisis the first time, I think Jack,
we have ever had a Brighter Sidethat came from the talk back microphone
on our iHeartRadio app. I believeyou're right. So this is fun and
(06:21):
we will get to that brighter sidecoming up next here on the Breeze.
That's in Foreigner, a relaxing favoritehere on the Bays number one for relaxing
favorites in the morning. It's JackHelp and Carolyn McCardell. And this is
a good time for the brighter side. I'm miss the brighter sides. I
know. I love doing these.By the way, if you are just
(06:43):
hearing this for the first time,Jack's last day is Friday. He's officially
retiring, so we're gonna live itup and enjoy you as long as we
thank you. It's hard for meto believe, but anyway, the brighter
side, and I want to thankShreeven Company for sponsoring the brighter Side day
in and day out, luxury time, he says, fine designers, flawless
diamonds. And this is where wemake you the star eight seven seven nine
(07:04):
eight one nine eight one. Wewould love to hear from you so you
can share your brighter side with usand in turn, the whole Bay area.
As I mentioned a couple of minutesago, Jack, this is the
first time I think we've ever hada brighter side come in on our iHeartRadio
app. This person used the talkback microphone on our app, and when
you're listening to the Breeze on theapp, you just push that microphone and
(07:25):
speak into it and you can recorda message. And here is what she
said. Hi, I'd like toshut out my daughter Nia. She's been
doing so well and has been tappedpassing all of her tests. I'm so
proud of you. Thank you bye. The epitome of a proud mom.
That is a proud mama for sure. Boy do we love hearing Matt and
congratulations Nia and keep going. Andas we mentioned, that is off of
(07:48):
our iHeartRadio app, So you canrecord a brighter side on our app.
It's anonymous and that's why we didn'thave her name. You can leave your
name or you don't. It's upentirely up to you your joy. But
our iHeartRadio app again free in yourapp store or at ninety eight one the
Breeze dot com. But we lovegetting like little messages of positivity like that
throughout the morning. So thank youfor your brighter side and coming up at
(08:11):
eight fifty this morning, we're goingto be commercial free Here on the Breeze.
We've got at least ninety eight minutesof NonStop commercial free relaxing Favorites,
and we will continue celebrating Jack Colehis last couple of days on the Morning
Breeze before he hangs it up fora retirement. Thank you. Yes,
so we're going to do that today, tomorrow, Friday as well here on
(08:35):
the Breeze seven twenty five. Andthat one from Linda Ronstad and James Ingram
here on the Bays and number onefour relaxing Favorites in the Morning and it's
Jack help and Carolyn mccarnell. Justa couple of more days for me.
Friday is my retirement day. Sure, I'm going to miss you. It's
going to miss you as well.So weird to think about you not being
on our show anymore. Well, you know, your show will go on,
(08:58):
Carolyn will be here. We're announcingsomeone who's going to take over my
seat tomorrow and it's all going towork out very very well. But you
know what, yesterday we played oneof the one of the bloopers that we've
done on the Morning Breeze and trustus, there's no shortage of those,
No I've got about three hours ofmess ups behind the scenes. It's all
(09:22):
behind the scenes stuff. And whenwe did it yesterday, we received so
much feedback from people saying that washysterical. I was laughing in my car.
You know, Well, let's playanother one today. We want to
hear more of your goof ubs.But wait, there's more. There is
more so behind the scenes here onthe Morning Breeze. We cut a lot
of commercials and it's never easy,is it. No, But it's fun.
(09:46):
It's always fun fun, but it'snot easy. Here's an example of
that. It's The Morning Breeze,Jack helping Carolyn mccarnell. Carolyn, you
know there's a great series of showsat the Mountain Winery in Saratoga. Jack.
You know, Jack, you knowwe only have seven seconds for that
intro, and so far you've gonenine a regular occurrence and it works both
(10:09):
ways. I should say I beenguilty of the same. You mean,
in broadcasting, you're supposed to keeptrack of the time. Yeah, what's
that all about. I feel likewe could just talk endlessly. No wonder
I'm retiring. No, it's therehave been so many laughs over the past
seven years where we laugh so hardwe can't breathe on the air and behind
the scene exactly. And it's justbeen a blast. And you are so
(10:31):
going to be missed. Jack.I'm gonna miss you too, but you
know, time to move on.I know, well, good for you.
Jack is retiring at the end ofthe weeks. We got them here
for a couple more days and we'regoing to take full advantage of that.
And we're at eight seven seven nine, eight one h nine eight one.
Always on social Media, ninety eightone The Breeze on the Way More relaxing
Favorites from Aerosmith. We've got theBangles in there and a lot more here
(10:54):
on the Breeze the base number onefor relaxing favorites in the More Monie it's
Jack Help and Carolyn McCardell in theMorning Breeze seven forty two is counting down
the days. I know Jack isgoing to be moving On Friday will be
his last morning here on the show. You're retiring, going somewhere else.
(11:16):
Yeah, you're going to hang itup, changing the routine. Yeah,
but you know what, when Kimand I were discussing this, probably well
it was a long time ago thatwe started planning for this date. I
now wonder whether or not Kim isready for me to retire. Oh,
that is a very good question. And why do you wonder that? Because
(11:37):
I'm going to be at home alot. I know Kim works from home,
and I asked her yesterday. Forexample, one of my things that
I'm aiming for is going to thegym more often than I do now,
which is probably once or twice aweek. Kim goes every day. And
I asked her yesterday what time tousually head off to the gym for your
class? And she says, oh, probably around eight thirty years. So
(11:58):
how long is your class? Oh? About an hour? And I think
she knew that I was trying tohitch a ride with her, but she
said she sounded very pleased about that, that you would want to with her.
Yeah, that I horn in onher private time maybe the first week
May. Yeah, and then itwears thin. But one of the things
(12:18):
that I don't want to say,I promised this, but I vowed that
I was going to do more totake care of cooking the cooking dinner.
Is this why you've been taking cookingclasses? You recently kind of started that,
Yeah, up and up a cakebread in the Napa Valley. I've
been taking a couple of classes ina group of other people, but I
(12:39):
want to venture out of the youknow, the Hamburger helper thing. Why
what's great? Who said said thesingle single? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
But that's one of my aims isgoing to take you know, the
cooking loads, some of the cookingload off of him and give it,
give it a try myself. That'sreally I wonder. You know, we
(13:01):
have a lot of people in ouraudience that have called us and said,
oh, I retired as well, you're gonna love it, And I wonder,
like, my question is how doyou prevent that slippery slope that could
happen of I have all these goals. I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna
do that, and then day oneyou're like, well, I'm gonna give
myself the day to sit on thecouch all day. You know how they
prevent that from happening? Well, every day the first day, I might
(13:24):
the Monday, I might sit onthe couch all by myself. See good,
well deserved what happens. But I'dbe curious to hear from people like
how do you prevent that? Slipperyslow, keep up on Kim's food poisoning.
Yeah, after I cook La.Yeah, I'm so glad you clarified
that. Where at eight seven sevennine eight one h nine eight one and
(13:46):
tomorrow on the show, we aregoing to introduce the person that is going
to be coming in and sitting inyour seat going far. It's going to
turn out to be really great.Yeah, it's gonna be fun. So
tomorrow's go be a really fun dayon the show. Not that today isn't,
but Tomorrow's gonna be fun, Ishould say as well. So we
look forward to that. And nowwe'll look at today's local forecast. Put
(14:07):
the umbrella on the base number onefor relaxing favorites while you work that one
from Green Day with Jack Holp andCarolyn mccartell at eight oh seven. So
we're counting down the days that Ikind of bow out of the morning breeze
and head to retirement. We're veryhappy for you, but sad for us,
understandably so. But an exciting newchapter will begin in Jack's life and
(14:31):
yours too. Yeah, and we'llbe introducing the person that's going to be
sitting in your seat starting Monday,we'll have him on the show tomorrow.
We'll I'll be on tomorrow together. We're at eight seven seven nine eight one
h nine eight one, Teresa andpleasanton good morning. I'm happy for you,
but I have a hip for youon your retirement. So you just
build in some kind of routine that'simportant to you each day, because the
(14:56):
day will fly by and you'll lookup go, oh my gosh, it's
six o'clock already, what have Idone. That's what I hear from a
lot of people that have chosen toretire, is the time goes by so
quickly. They're busier than ever.Yeah, but building a routine that's important
to you, and that will makeyou have some structure, because you've had
structure for a long time, butnow it's your structure. All the best.
(15:22):
I look forward to maybe hearing Carolynchat about what you're up to next.
Okay, I will be it's anongoing investigation. We will be keeping
tabs on Jack for sure, andreporting back to our listeners. Yes,
he's not going to get out ofit. That no, no, no,
not at all. And I'll bescreening my calls. Well that's a
(15:46):
white decision. Thank you. Teresa. It's been a pleasure hearing you and
all the best to you and yourfamily. Well you've been a lot to
me too, and all of ushere on the bridge. Thank you.
Bye bye now take care now bye. Hi. We were talking last break.
I think it was Jack about thefact that you said you want to
start cooking more. Yeah. Sureyou did. Take a load off of
(16:07):
kim shoulder, which is so sweet. And Kim apparently heard that break and
texted me and said, please askJack if he's planning to perfect a kale
salad? Will do that happening?Zero zero? Sorry to let you down,
Kim, He's all yours. Eightseven seven nine eight one nine eight
one is how you reach us.As we are celebrating Jack's last week here
(16:30):
on the Morning Breeze as he workshis way into retirement. You and Kim
start texting back and forth. Don'tworry about it. I am worried.
