Grooming at Dukes 11/13/25

Jenn talks about taking her dogs to Duke's for grooming.

Key one hundred with Dave and Gin hey Man. Took
the dogs yesterday to Duke's dog on grooming in Barbersville.
Little grooming situation. Well, so you know that Oscar has
had some skin issues, yes, and I finally got him
to the vet, talked to her, We got it taken
care of. He got a steroid shot to kind of

quell all the issues that he was having and then
now he's finally getting back to normal. Then I know
he's on the men, bless his little heart. But so
he needed a bath like crazy. And we have been,
you know, scrubbing our house because Leo's got this rash that,
thank god, the doctor said was not handfoot in mouth,
but don't know where it came from, just some type
of irritant. So we have been washing everything, all the blankets,

all the dog stuff, all the kids stuff, everything. And
so I was like, I need to get these dogs
in to get groomed. And they had an opening. I like, hot,
no go, So I took him on in and then
yesterday when I went to pick him up, I had
Leo with me and uh and Debbie the owner was
in there, and she is so funny. She was like,
I love Callie. I love watching her while she's here

because for the longest time, I didn't take Callie or
Lily to the to the groomer because they're short haired dogs.
I can wash them at home. They don't usually need cut,
but Oscar's hair can get madded it's so thick, so
they need to take care of them. So Callie never
really went to the groomer very often. Okay, now that
she goes. Every time Oscar goes, she's like, what is this,

What is happening? Who are these dogs? Why am I
here with them? She is so judgmental, And that's what
Debbie was like. I was watching her, like every little noise,
she would just move her head and she just kept
looking around and seeing what was going on. I was like,
oh yeah, and she's judgmental too. She will totally judge
you what you're doing. It's a whole new world for her,
it really is. She was like, and I love her
ears because her ears look like Yoda, like little baby

(01:47):
Yoda ears. They're so flipping cute. And then she was like,
an Oscar's just so sweet, My goodness, he just looks
out the window wondering when his mommy's coming back. I
was like, I know, is the sweetest dog. Every time
you bring here to the studio. I love it so much.
He only comes over and sees me for a brief second. Yeah,
and then he goes right back over to you. But
still because he is such a mama yeah boy. So

well behaved he is. He doesn't bark and you know,
do stupid stuff. He really, I mean, he is a
good dog. But he has told me a million times.
He's like whenever you leave the house and I'm stuck
here with the dog, they just stare out the window
for at least a good forty five minutes before yeah,
before they'll finally sit down here with dad again. Curiously,
and the cool thing about Duke's all gone grooming. They

actually said like, if you wanted to, you know, contribute
to our little food pantry that we kind of got
started here because you know the snap benefits. So they
were like, if you wanted to bring in some can goods,
you'll get a little discount on your on your bill.
I was like, well, hot dog, So I took some
some canned food over there. And by the way, they've
got a bunch of stuff. So a lot of people
have been dropping off and uh and the Facing Hunger

Food Bank should be picking up from them. But it's
a really cool deal that they're they're getting involved in that.
