H.A.R.T. in the Park Opens This Weekend! 06/13/25

H.A.R.T. in the Park opens this weekend with 'The Prom.' June 13th, 14th, 15th, 20th, 21st, 22nd only! Ritter Park Amphitheater.  Gates open at 6:30 pm.  Pre-show starts at 7 pm.

with Jane Maudlin from Heart's How are you Jane? I
am great, Thank you all for having me, thank you
for coming in.

And you're not from Heart.

The band, No, unfortunately, a regional theater. There you go.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Yes, when my when my boss brought you in Jane
from Heart, I'm like, no, that would.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
But the prom kicks off this weekend.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
It does. What can I tell you about it? It
is a fun, fun show.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Okay, tell me a little bit about For those that
don't know about Heart as well.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Heart in the Park at Rider Park and Honeyton Airy
Regional Theater is Heart in the Park and we do
musicals in the summer and it's an event. It's not
like we're going to the theater. We're going to see Shakespeare.
You come, you bring your launch here, you bring a
picnic basket. You just sit out under the stars and
see a fun show. And it's it's not like anything

else that happened, at least not in the Try state.
I mean, try taking a pizza into a movie theater.
See how far you get. We bring your cooler, bring
your picnic basket, or come see our amazing food vendors.
We have great food trucks every year, okay, and it's
a lot of fun. Okay, and so prom, let's hear
about that the prom and some people will be familiar

with the Meryl Street movie. Okay, full disclosures still have
not seen, but it's basically these Broadway stars who have
gotten lambasted because they are terrible human beings. They are
just terrible people. So they decide they're going to be
celebrity activists. So they go looking for a story and
they find this girl in Indiana, small town America who

wants to take her girlfriend to the prom, and so
the PTA cancels the prom. So they go riding in
on their high horse. Here we are to save the
day and hilarity ensus. So where can we get tickets
for that? Tickets are available both at the Greater Huntington
Parks and Recreation. Just Excite or Heart prom h a

many opportunities to see the show? Friday, Saturday, Sunday, this
weekend and next week. There's only six performances, so you
don't want to miss out. It is a great show.
The music's fantastic yes, and is this your kickoff for
the summer. This is the kickoff. We'll be following up
with Mary Poppins in July.
