Speaker 1 (00:00):
Key one hundred with Dave and.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Gin So I know that Snap benefits have not gone
out for the month of November. Now I think that
the government has come to an agreement. I think we
might be ending the shutdown very soon, which is awesome.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Yes, that is incredible.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
But until then, if you are a little tight on
money and you're looking for food or low cost food somewhere,
there are some tips apparently that you can go to
several multiple food pantries, so don't just stop by, you know,
say your local food pantry, or if maybe they don't
have what you need, go to another food pantry so

(00:42):
you can shop around find everything that you would need.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Oka. It also says to talk to your child's school.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
To see if maybe they've got a free breakfast, lunch
or after school food program that you can join just
for this time being.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
Yeah, I know that Lawrence County schools in Ohio do
free lunches, nice and breakfast if I'm not mistaken as well.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Oh that's perfect. It's so helpful. Yes, they say.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
You know, when you're shopping in the stores, if you
find the discounted food that's about to go to waste,
well buy it cheaper and then use it asap, you know,
cook it that night, right, And it says, don't worry
about walking up to you know, somebody that works at
the grocery store asking them about any deals that are
happening or any markdowns that they have.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
What Tracy is not afraid to ask cashiers if they
have a coupon.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
That's hilarious.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
He does it everywhere we go, not just at grocery stores,
but a lot of times at grocery stores as well.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Do you have any coupons for that?

Speaker 1 (01:37):
That's so funny And you wouldn't believe how helpful they
normally are. They're normally like, let me see I've got
and they have a stash you know, back behind the
register or whatever a lot of times and will help
you save money.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
That's so funny. I've never done that. That's incredible.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
She does it all the time.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
That's a great idea.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
And I always get the mailers or whatever when I'm
walking into the grocery store.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
If there's a mailer there, I always grab that. Yes,
heck yes.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
And if you do need assistance, you know, the Facing
Hunger Food Bank has been killing it and you can
find them right here in Huntington. Yeah, I mean good
luck and hopefully there's an end in sight.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Oh seriously,

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
