Speaker 1 (00:01):
Key one hundred with Dave and Jin. Sometimes I get
so mad at Monopoly. I play Monopoly Go on my phone,
as you know, huh, And sometimes I get really ticked
off at the game.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
That's not good.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
It's not good, I agree, and sometimes it makes me
want to quit. Just quit playing the game, just delete
the app, do it, done with it, do it. So
the other day I'm ticked off. I can't even remember
what exactly I was upset about at this point, but
I had the high roller option. Now they give you
this from time to time. It's either five minutes long

(00:36):
or it's like ten minutes long, and basically you can
roll up to a thousand times on your dice, so
every time you hit something, it's that times a thousand,
and the rewards can be outstanding and fun. Okay, but
then also that goes with that. You could also hit

(00:57):
squares where you lose tons of dice as well. Sure
you know, it can be really bad. So I'm down
like nine thousand dice and I'm just bam hitting that thing,
and I'm just rolling the dice times a thousand, and
I mean, I'm losing dice like crazy, and then boom,
I hit this new flip coin feature. Okay, And so

(01:18):
you flip a coin and it either can be aheads,
which is good because it doubles your one thousand, and
then you flip it again and it doubles again, and
you flip it again and it doubles again, and you
flip it again in double and five times. I did that. Okay,
that was the max amount that you could basically flip
on this game flop. I know this doesn't make a

(01:39):
whole lot of sense too, because you don't play Monopoly Go.
People who play monopotly Go will know exactly what I'm
talking about.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Got it?

Speaker 1 (01:46):
So I hit the max amount on times one thousand,
and look at all these fun rewards I got. I
got twelve thousand dice twelve seven hundred dice back. I
got a little builder's back thing which cheapens my rent
on all my houses and hotels. I got a mega
heightst option for like thirty minutes. I got eight point

(02:09):
eight and a half trillion dollars. Wow, Jen, I was like,
are you elon musk? Literally feeling the dopamine at that
point in my brain was like, oh my gosh, it's
so much fun.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
So what happened to make it terrible, but nothing.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Then then I was all in. I was no longer
mad at the game. I decided to keep it and
keep playing.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Oh my god, so you were mad for two seconds mad.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
I was down like nine thousand dice. I was like,
this is ridiculous. Boom hit it, boom hit it. And
then suddenly now I'm up like almost four thousand dice.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
This is literally gambling. It's literally gambling.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Thankfully, you don't lose money, that's true, but some people do.
Oh I know.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Here's the thing. I keep my sound off. Yeah, I
turned the sound on. It sounds like a casino. Of course,
all the fun little bells whistles and it makes okay.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
So kids, just a lesson. This is called addiction. That's okay.
This is not something you want to get into. So
just don't start playing. If you don't start, you can't
get addicted boom exactly.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
But if you do, let me know. Goodness gracious, because
I also like to help people too. I like to
send them stickers and stuff when they need them.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Oh, good for you. Do you ever send them actual
money instead of just stickers? What? No?

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Oh? Yeah, money for that.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
I don't like to help people that much do we day?

Speaker 1 (03:34):
All right?

Speaker 2 (03:35):
That is it for a day that halfway through the week.
Y'all hang in there, we'll make it.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Yeah, it's a little chilly outside.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Not terrible. Actually, you know, I have more three coats,
I don't need. All of them is prepared.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
I am for a blizzard. Have a great day tomorrow.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
