Whoa College Ball Miami Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio stage is
(00:32):
a fifty eight point favorite over Akron. I always want
to say Akron because of Akon, but it's Akron.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
What's Akron?
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Oh Akron? It's such as what.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Happened in Akron? What happens at your house when this starts?
Is it like the situation room? I mean, is it
like TV's in every room where they laptops?
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Yeah, okay, yeah, and then the laptop goes with the man,
so he's carrying the laptop wherever you go, right, and
then there's also the phone in the back box, so
you can be hearing that because on Sunday USC the
Trojans are playing LSU. The man's alma mater.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Yeah, of course, party at your house.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Yeah, thank god, it's time. And it's National Beach Day
as well. Plus coming up, we're gonna go inside Entertainment.
(01:36):

and Patrick Mahomes is running it. We'll tell you all
about it Coast one.

Coast one O three point five Inside Entertainment with Ellen
k Well.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
The NFL season starts next Thursday, with the defending champion
Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Ravens. Chief quarterback Patrick Mahomes
praise Taylor Swift's interest in the sport. She asks a
lot of great questions, he said, and she drew a play.
He put one of them in a game. So I
don't know what it's called or which play is. I
don't know if Patrick will ever tell us, but it's
(02:15):
a Taylor Swift football play.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Is there anything she cannot do?
Speaker 1 (02:22):
All right? What about this? At the box office? This weekend?
Lavery weekend, it's traditionally a slow period at the megaplexus
Deadpool and Wolverine will come in again a number one
with about twelve million. Then it ends with Us Inside
Out to Alien Romulus. Those will be it. But Dennis
Quait stars in the President Ronald Reagan biopic. There's also
a horrorforic called Afraid, based on AI, so the AI
(02:43):
and Afraid is capitalized. I saw the trailer. It looks
pretty good, but it's not getting good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
But it's AI spinning out of control in a smart house,
so you can imagine. How Oh, you guys, guess what's
happening tonight at the Sameamonica Peer. The Ferris Wheel is
going to be the Wheel of Fortune. That's right. Ryan
(03:10):
Seacrest and Ben and White will be at Centamnica Peer.
You can join them as the wheel turns into the
wheel of fortune. As you know, Ryan Seacrest will be
your host and he'll be on this show next week.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Thank you, Ellen K.
Speaker 5 (04:24):

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Host one O three point five.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
It's Coast one of three point five with the LLENK
Morning Show. Here with your happiness. Huh.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Time to party this weekend. We labor, we labor hard,
and then we get this weekend. Extended weekend. Millions of
Americans will be at a party with copious food, probably
a barbecue. Did you know, guys, eight hundred hot dogs?
This is insane? Are eating every second on Labor Day?
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Every second? Well, then this is perfect. Calvin's Chorizo hot
dogs up in our blog at Coast one of three
five dot Com with Cilantro Crime and kim Chi Slaw.
So after visiting Claudete Zeebeta's Mexican restaurant in San Diego,
Calvin brought home the recipe they had it there. Okay, yeah,
so it's super easy. It's the sonora and hot dog.
(05:14):
So you can crumble choriso on top to make it
easy to stop it.
Speaker 8 (05:19):
It's like a new version of a chili cheese dog.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Yeah, Calvin's chariso hot Well.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Labor Day is the third biggest day for overeating in
America behind Thanksgiving and can you guess the second biggest
day for overeating Super Bowl Boom? That's okay, So one
thing you need to take to your Labor Day party pineapple.
Oh rings or chunk or just the full pineapple. So
there's an enzyme in pineapple that breaks down food double time,
(05:48):
so you will never feel bloated or full. You can
just eat to your heart's content.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Oh is that what like Joey Chestnut does, Because yes,
he's got a Netflix special now it's called Unfinished Beef.
It's Chestnut versus cob As soon as they're.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Done, they eat pineapple. All these competitive eaters. So when
you go and if you don't want that gross feeling
just after your second or third or fourth hot dog,
eat a pineapple, love it cheers.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
Coast one oh three point five. It's the Lank Morning Show.
Speaker 9 (06:13):
Allan.
Speaker 5 (06:14):

We iplore you.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Coast one o three point.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Five chop stories top with the hour. Hey, there are
melan Ka and California Navy veteran who makes a living
entertaining kids with giant bubbles has just been cited and
ordered to court for liquid littering. Sandy, a snaken bird,
goes by the bubble Pirate and loves performing nightly at
the La Joya Cove in San Diego. He has done
(06:39):
this for eight years. A park ranger just showed up
and gave old Sandy a ticket. A city spokesperson said
the bubble Pirate was violating city codes as chemicals could
wash into and onto public lawns and damage the grass.
A veteran snake and bird says, quote, after eight years,
our grass is still green. He will face a judge.
Sadly in October and tomorrow is nash'll eat outside day.
(07:01):
So the weather's going to be nice. Why not enjoy
it by filling up a picnic basket, have a picnic.
Overall the top picnic spots in the US. Well, California
does really really well. Irvine is number two, one thousand,
Oaks number one. And what about this All States California's
fourth largest Insuran set to raise property rights by an
(07:21):
average of thirty five percent starting in November this after
the company received approval from the state's Department of Insurance.
It is a move that will impact four hundred thousand
policy holders. And in Romance News, could you scan a
person's brain someday to find out if they really love you?
A team in Finland says, yeah, you can. They saw
a different brain activity for six types of love, romantic love,
(07:43):
parental love, love for friends, pets and strangers, and love
of nature. They all look very different under an MRI.
So that scan coming soon and a little more that morning,
fog is lifting sun heiights around ninety. Let's see, we've
got high in the Valley's up to about eighty today
and then we're gonna go triple dig Just next week
(08:05):
it is seventy in Burbank and we run on Celsia
Sentergy drinks, kost Los Angeles. It's Coast to one a

Joe, who's your team?
Speaker 1 (09:49):
What's your team for college?
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Tommy?
Speaker 1 (09:52):
I grew up of Michigan Wolverines. Your Harbord guys, you
must love to charge Harball guy.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
Yeah, he was my coach for the forty nine ers too.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Well, who's got it better than us? Joe?
Speaker 9 (10:03):
Nobody?
Speaker 1 (10:06):
You're the best, Thanks Joe, Yes, sir, who's got it
better than us? Nobody? Jim Harbaugh? We love you, Jim Harbaugh.
You know when he and his brother would we're growing up.
The dad was a coach, as you know, they didn't
have much money, and there was a car dealership that
(10:28):
would let the coaches share any leftover cars. So they
didn't even have a car. They'd have to share the
car that all the coaches would share, so they would
walk to school dribbling basketballs, and sometimes the weather would
be bad, and their dad would always say, who's got
it better than us? And then the boys would say nobody.
I love that.
Speaker 8 (10:47):
I love what you said recently about our coworker who
works kind of closely with him, Yes, said, he's superhands
on and gets involved in everything.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
Everything. He loads the player's luggage onto the buses and everything.
He's just he's all. He's all there. And his dream
was to you know, live in his in his mobile home.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
He lives in an RV.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Yeah, near Silk Stadium.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
I'll never forget. At the Blue Diamond Gala, the Dodgers
Blue Diamond Gala, I was there with you and your husband, Roy,
and I went up to you and I said, where's
rowing you go?
Speaker 1 (11:20):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
I haven't seen him in forever. I've lost my husband.
So we went walking and there Roy is standing outside
of the restroom, just face to face with Harbor chopping
it twenty five minutes. Sash Dream come to.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
And we are your charger hookups, so we are sending
you to Opening day. Just keep it here to win.

Speaker 9 (12:14):
Thank you taking my call.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
Oh yeah, of course. What's the number one controlling woman
red flag?
Speaker 2 (12:22):
I think it's controlling the checkbook.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
Oh okay, hands off, it's all mine. It's a good guest, Wendy.
It's not the right answer. Try again, though, Okay, Hi,
all right, thank you, have a good one. Summer, just
arrived at school. What's your school summer?
Speaker 5 (12:37):
Chris Moore Elementry?
Speaker 1 (12:38):
All right, summer. What's your guest? It's the number one
controlling woman red flag.
Speaker 5 (12:44):
Somebody that's constantly checking your phone.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
Oh oh wow, that would be super controlling. That's a
big red flag. It's not the right answer though.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
Next time.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
Okay, all right, have a good day. Lourie's in Lakewood. Hi, Laurie, Hi,
good morning, now one good morning. Would you consider yourself
a controlling woman? No, not at all, Ryan, Have you
ever been with a controlling woman?
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (13:10):
What is the number one controlling woman? Red flag? What
do you think, Lori?
Speaker 7 (13:15):
He constantly makes you feel guilty.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
Oh oh, like everything is your fault.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
You know, in a way. That's almost worse than checking
your phone, because that's cerebral. She's a cerebral assassin at
that point.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Oh no, in your head, playing with your hair. Yeah,
making you feel guilty all the time. And I'm sorry
to say, Laurie, I mean I'm happy. I'm sad. I'm
sad about the answer, but I'm happy because you're right.
It is making me feel guilty all the time. Awesome, Okay,
(13:46):
you're going to think congrats, I love it. Awesome. No,
she is awesome. Here she is talking about communication with
her daughter.
Speaker 10 (13:56):
I said to her, I said, do you see me
growing my hair? She said no, I said, do you
see me changing my body. No, Mama, do you see
me changing the way I present myself to the world?
Speaker 4 (14:05):
No, Mama, do.
Speaker 10 (14:06):
You see me selling out arenas all over the world?
Speaker 4 (14:09):
Yes, Mama. Ways up with Ellan k.
Speaker 9 (14:12):
Hi.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
This is Tiffany Hattison. You're listening to the ellen k
Morning Show. Coast one oh three point five.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
She ready get it good top Stories, Top of the Hour,
Good Morning of Ellen k and California state lawmakers have
approved legislation that effectively bans all plastic grocery bags everywhere.
The two bills will prohibit grocery stores from offering any
bags other than paper at checkout. Both bills require one
final vote before heading to Governor Gavin Newsom's desk. California
(14:39):
became the first day in the nation to pass a
plastic grocery bend ten years ago in twenty fourteen. However,
the original law allowed grocery stores to still offer bags
as long as they were deemed reusable and recyclable. With
this new bill, it would be just gone. And the
long running legal battle over that iconic statue of Marilyn
Monroe and Palm Springs has finally come to an end.
This has been going on for three years A group
(15:02):
of residents filed a suit in twenty twenty one, arguing
that the seventeen ton statue became a tourist attraction which
often blocked a main roadway. Others argued it was too
close to a school, where curious boys often would walk
by to look under the statue skirt. The Forever Maryland
will be located just fifteen minutes away, fifteen feet away
into a nearby park. That is the solution there. And
(15:24):
we're following up on the story at the four year
old boy who accidentally broke a rare thirty five hundred
year old base in an Israeli museum. Curators now say
they've forgiven the boy. He's actually invited back. His dad, Alex,
said his son is naturally curious and ran up to
the giant piece to see what was inside, then knocked
it over accidentally. The museum says they want to turn
(15:45):
it into a teachable moment and encourage all kids to
be curious about artifacts. And we do have a beautiful
sunny day, highs around ninety Pacoima eighty, Pasadena seventy five,
and we go triple digits probably by next week, Hi
sixty five in Burbank. We run on Selsea's Energy Drinks.
It's KOST Los Angeles Coast one o three point five
coming up. We have some inspiration. It's Friday Morning Lights.
(16:08):
We focus on different high school football coaches and we'll
serve one up to you. Also, someone's gonna win a
thousand dollars with Miley Cyrus Flowers.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
Keep it here to win the L and K Morning
Show Coast one oh three point five.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
I'm going to the Loyola Cubs game tonight football game. Yeah,
because you know at seven o'clock we're playing Damien and
Loyal Cubs where my son Calvin graduated from Loyola. Father
Greg Gothols, the president of Loyola High, we love you
and you know C four L. You know what that means,
(16:42):
C four L Cubs for life. Okay, yep. Bits of
Friday Morning Light.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
Okay, Friday Morning it's going.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
To Troy High School, home of the Warriors. Coach E Javez,
Welcome to Friday Morning Lights.
Speaker 6 (16:58):
Thank you so much. Excited to be.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
Our Well, you're coming up a huge win last week
beating Sunny Hills High thirty eight to six. That must
have felt amazing.
Speaker 6 (17:08):
Yeah, it was great. So Sunny Hills is a vocal
school to Troy. We're about gosh, maybe six miles eight
miles apart across the city of Fourton. It's a big
rivalry game. We've never played it this early in the year.
And to start off the season with the victory overall
rivals was a huge, huge victory for.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Us, so good congrats on that. And tonight is Claremont
High and Fuller Chin, so you'll be up against them.
When you have the guys in the locker room, it's
right before the game. What is it that you tell them?
How do you get them fired up?
Speaker 4 (17:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (17:42):
You know, honestly, I'm not a real big pregame speech guy,
just because we spend so much time in preparation during
the week that win. It's game time. It's almost like
you're letting go of the ravenous wolves and say, hey, man,
go play some football, go have fun, and get after it.
So you're kind of like unleashing unleashing the beasts a
little bit on game nights. But I do, you know,
(18:03):
bring them together and and we have a quick little
pep talk and just remind them that you know, it's
not about them, that it's about the team and and
to really focus on doing your job for your teammate
and your brother, and special things happen when you do that.
And uh yeah, that's that's essentially our pregames each every game.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Yeah, that leads me to this. You know, I'm wondering
you have to say their names or anything, but your
standout players, your strength. I'm sure they all have something
in common. What's that number one thing that your stars,
you know, have in common.
Speaker 6 (18:31):
I think it's a I think it's resilience. You know,
we we have a class this year that has been
through a lot, and they've been extremely resilient and focused
to continue to build and make Troy what we would
consider a special place to play football at. We're definitely excited.
So I think definitely resilience. He's the word that describes them.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Yeah all right, Coachy Chavas, we're inside the locker room
with you. You have control of the music before the game.
What's the song you're putting on to get these guys
fired up at Roy?
Speaker 6 (19:02):
I don't know if it to fire them up, but
it fires me me up. It's in the air tonight,
I still call them here.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
There you go, let's get that drum solo going. Coach
wants it well, good good luck tonight, go Warriors. We
are they're cheering for you. Thank you so much, Coaching Chavez.
Speaker 6 (19:20):
Thank you so much for having me on. I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (19:22):

era at Disney California Adventure Park. Oh the famous red
car trolley, which has heard forever down Waynea, Visus Street
and through Hollywoodland, is saying goodbye. Park office will say
it's all to make room for an expansion of the
Avengers campus and two new tractions, Infinity Defense and Starflight Lab.
(24:03):
That trolley will take its final ride early next year.
And this just in. Taylor Swift is getting ready to
publish her first novel. The Book's called a Girl. Called
Girl is about a mother who wants a son instead
of a daughter. Taylor wrote it at the age of fourteen.
She trademarked the name and the tale, and ten years
ago she did that. She has read trademarked it and
this includes book products and audiobooks. Ironically, Ancestry dot Com
(24:27):
revealed the Taylor Swift is a descendant of poet Emily Dickinson.
Swift and Dickinson are six cousins who were removed three times.
Swift's ninth great grandfather and Dickinson's sixth great grandfather were
early Windsor Connecticut settlers from the seventeenth century. And leave
my claw machine alone. Rio de Janio officials want outlaw
claw machines for being games of chance. They say this
(24:49):
should be a world order. Police in Rio said that
kids are being stolen from by putting their money in
claw machines, that it is just a game of chance.
It's like a slot machine. They said. Kids are liable
to blow their pocket money on what's effectively a crapshoot.
They're trying to outlaw this around the world. Claw machines.
I quite like them. A little more of that sunshine
(25:12):
coming highs around nineties everywhere, and then Inland Empire. Next
week we're going to go triple digits, but for this weekend,

It's so good. Oh is it really? It's very I
don't know. I'm just like a black coffee girl like Hosier.

Yeah, you make a wish, you pick it up and
make a wish. But if it's not heads up, don't
touch it.

it will find it heads up.

have perceived He would have perceived it differently. Her intention
may still have been the same, but his perception of
it would have been different.

Oh got it? So is he wrong to read it
or is she wrong to write about people they know?

Oh?

Yes, she should have. She should have changed the name
because it would have by her not changing the names.
That's what affected him so deeply. Yeah, if she had,

she should have changed the name, not personally.

Speaker 7 (28:10):
He couldn't understand how it was different, And the only
way it would have been really different is that it
would have made a different to how her husband perceived
what he read.
