Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning, and thanks for joining us the Friday before
the big weekend the Oscars.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I'm only kay Hi, I'm Ryan Mano, I'm Social Queen Darlene.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
I am produced to Mike Cromos.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
I cannot wait to play the Michael Motion mix of
Oscar songs.

Speaker 4 (00:16):
Yeah good, we're gonna share that with you.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
It's most of the songs that have won Best Original Song,
and you're gonna notice most of them, Plan coast coast
of them of them. Okay, So big weekend had Calvin's
coming into town this evening and I can't wait to
see him.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
And just hug him. Yeah, what are your plans?

Speaker 5 (00:42):
Ry?

Speaker 2 (00:43):
I have none? Oh no, what I know?

Speaker 4 (00:47):
Well, I mean last weekend you were just yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
And when I alreadys say that, that always that's it's
always a TV.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
I you'll end up. Let me let me just read
the tea leaves.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
So you're at.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
Foreman's tonight with them and.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Friends, and I think he'll probably close it.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Okay, fair, that's fair.

Speaker 6 (01:07):
I'm headed south all the way to Ocean Side tonight
for a rugby game. Rugby is getting kind of serious
and we'll actually be playing Loyola's team soon.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Oh that's great. I'll let you know.

Speaker 6 (01:21):
And then Saturday morning up in early for a track
meet athlete invitationals.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
I have a question about rugby.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
So I was at where we work out ran training
mate the other day and the instructors from Australia. But
he was a professional rugby player. So he's all excited
because in Vegas this weekend is there is a huge
rugby international tournament. And he said he's so proud of
the Australian team because there have only been two arrests

(01:52):
so far and they've been there all week Okay, and
he's like, we're really behaving. There have only been two arrests.
It's for the Australian rugby team. I just thought that
was so funny. Aggression is part of the deal. Oh definitely,
all right, Mike Promos.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Yeah, No, I'm probably just gonna hang out with the girls.
My twin girls. Try to rip them off their games.
They're they're stuck on these iPads. I'm playing roadblocks, dressed
to impress, and I'm just like, let's get out.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
Let's get out to impressed.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
It's like they dress up and they have to compete
against other outfits, other outfits. Yeah, live like they're they're
in the game, but they're all competing live and they
get together. They meet every like my appointment, and they're
in there.

Speaker 7 (02:36):
With their group.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
So roadblocks are they cartoon character cartoon and then they
buy the close or they win the.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Clothes exactly both. So they ask for money here and
there and it's not cheap.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Have they won all the time?

Speaker 7 (02:49):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (02:50):
They do. They go twinsy.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Matching, they usually don't. They like to compete also against
each other.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Oh, because I was going to say, if they go
twinsy and they're winning, that's like they're doubling down.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
It is tempting, though, Ellen, we talked about candy Crush yesterday.
You shared this woman filed a lawsuit, and it is
tempting to you know, just spend a couple bucks here,
a couple bucks there.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
It's I think it's escapism. I think that we're on
our games because this is a world we can enter
and we can just be there and it makes you
feel good. You get that endorphin rush when you when
you win or even compete, like on candy Crush, all
the all the candies are exploding.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
Yeah, and you're you're you know you're going on.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Yeah, the phone vibrates to and do something great. My
senses loaded. I tell you, though, I had to bail
on Candy Crush because I started spending money on it.
Then I went to Royal Match and I had to
lose that one too. It's just too much. I will say, though,
the piggy bank on Candy Crush, You ever do that?

Speaker 1 (03:50):
No, I, my sister and I have a packed Never
spend money on Candy Crush. For the piggy Bank. You
have to buy it. It says ninety nine cents.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
It's a good deal.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Okay, you're you have a problem.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
Thirty gold bars.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
You're gonna get an array of things I'm telling you
in terms of in game purchases.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Okay, I'm gonna do it right now.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Wait, but they're counting my gold bars double clicked to plate.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
See they make it too easy. I preloaded my Okay, No,
I'm just gonna want.

Speaker 8 (04:20):
I want to tell you what I'm sound to this.
Can we hear it?

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:25):
The other thing while this is happening, yeah, is like
when you get the wheelspin and you land on those
three stars. You know, yes, Oh, you get everything. You
get every tool you need.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Okay, okay, I received thirty gold bars.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
For ninety nine cents.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
Oh yeah, yeah, okay, here we go.

We always like to introduce ourselves. Thank you for being

Speaker 1 (09:13):
So it's estimated that the budget for hosting the Oscars
ranges between fifteen and twenty five thousand dollars, but the

producer can take his fee and pay for people who

(09:35):
he depended on, you know, kind of like give me
the money then I'll.

Distribute it, right, distribute it or distribute it.

a lot of pressure, and it's a global audience and
it's it's a lot.

them being there the for their brand? Yeah, that's you

And the Lakers, Oh, it's so cute. Luca brought his dad.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
His dad was there last night and when he made
a really great shot, he looked over at his dad
and his dad was like, yeah, go. And it just
goes to show you the little boy never grows up
from that connection with the father son or the father mother,
you know those connections in sports.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Yes, remember during the World Series Freddy Freeman, you know,
the first thing he did after hitting that home run,
he went up to the net and found his dad
and discreet like him and his dad face to face, screaming.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
Yeah, that was so great.

Speaker 6 (10:49):
I see that with my own family, Like my son
and my husband are in cohoots with sports all the way.

Speaker 11 (14:43):
I really am.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
I wanted to say I don't have a dress just
to stress it. So listen.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
That brings us to our happiness hack. When you are
feeling stressed out, as you could be over a coworker
who is putting off getting a dressed. Yeah, for the oscars.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
Uh huh.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Experts say there is one thing we sh should clean.
Any guesses before I share what it is? What would
you say?

Speaker 10 (15:02):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (15:03):
I would say the refrigerator.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
Ooh, that's good.

Speaker 6 (15:06):
I was going to say our phones.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Okay, is it a body part?

Speaker 7 (15:09):
It is?

Speaker 4 (15:11):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Okay, may great guesses, guys, But it's your car. Oh
your car?

Speaker 4 (15:16):
Your car was Oh yeah, that's taking how much time
we spend in our cars?

Speaker 7 (15:21):
I know.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
So psychologists say, washing your car inside and out makes
us feel as shiny as the car.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
That's so cool. Yeah, what a simple, great.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
Hack, it's super simple. And let's go a little further.
So when it's time to clean our cars, they recommend
using a magic eraser on your dashboard and inside surfaces. Yeah,
what works like a charm?

Speaker 7 (15:42):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (15:42):
No, magic eraser? Next time you do the next time
you get in the car, Magic erase dashboard. And then
the mirrors and glass. They say, instead of like a
buffing cloth, a coffee filter. Oh, take a coffee filter
on your mirrors.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
Oh weird.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
And if the idea of using wax with all the chemicals.
Isn't for you hair conditioner?

Speaker 4 (16:01):
Oh I'm on the car. Can we just have someone
else watch it for us?

Speaker 1 (16:21):
One O three point five, Top Story's top of the hour,
Good morning, I'm ellen K new information about Gene Hackman.
His daughters were making a breakfast run to Denny's just
a day after he was found dead, alongside his wife
and one of their German shepherds. Those daughters about it
out and about that day later, one admitting they had
not spoken to him in months. We've also learned that

(16:45):
both bodies showed signs of mummification, which suggests the couple
were there for a lot longer than initially believed. And
then there's this a nine one one called made by
a caretaker. He is just looking through a window of
Hackman's home, bathing.

Speaker 5 (17:00):
No idea. I'm not inside the house, it's closed, it's long,
I can't go in, but I see that she's laying
down from the windows. No, dude, they're not.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Moving, just from somebody out here really quick their way.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
Okay, all right, tragic for sure, and this just in too.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Michelle Trachtenberg, the actress who died and was found by
her mother in her bed, will not have an autopsy,
so because of death will not be released. The beloved
actress's family said, no autopsy for us, so it would
be an undetermined cause of death.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
And what about this?

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Disneyland just to announce reservations for its railroad guided tour.
It's now open ninety minute experience that allows guests to
ride in their presidential car, the Lily Bell, while learning
about Walt diseas Love of trains. The Lily Bell, named
after Walt's wife, is typically not only open to VIP
guests and other special groups. The tour costs one hundred
and forty five per person. It does include park admission,

(17:59):
but it's a special experience.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
Okay. It's National Chocolate Soufley Day.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
You need ten eggs to make a soufle and there
are twenty five steps, so find a place that makes
it for you and celebrate. It's a good excuse to
have one of those light, fluffy soufles. I mean the
eggs are so high maintenance in this too. You have
to mat room temperature, separate the yolks and the whites,
fold them in together. It's just a whole bunch of work.
But celebrate if you find a soufle you love. Just

(18:26):
know it's a lot of work to make that thing.
And after a week of heat, our cool down kicks off.
Today temps are slidden back into the seventies a monthy seventy,
El segundo sixty five. Most of Oscar's weekend looking a
little chili, a forty percent chance of some sprinkles, and

A good morning, I'm ellen K And as expected, the
Department of Justice released a newish batch of documents last
night connected to Jeffrey Epstein, mainly flight logs and names.
Those briefly mentioned include Michael Jackson, McJagger, Alec Baldwin, though
none of them are accused of committing any crimes. They
only appeared in Epstein's contact book. Ultimately, the release is
heavily redacted. We've looked through all one hundred pages and

(36:02):
there's very little in terms of updated info. Attorney General
Pam Bonde has already taken some heat for promising his
significant delivery, as she's blaming the FBI for all the redactions.
And it sounds like Kelsey has made his decision. Travis
will be back. While Trav hasn't made the announcement himself,
he did send a text to Pat McAfee, who read
every word on his daily show.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
I'm coming back for sure.
