Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's post one of three point five. Were the only
K Morning show here with you, all of us somehow
getting here safe. We all came from different areas.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
I'm Ellen k Hi, I'm yan Mano Hi, I'm Bridges
of Mike Romos and Social Queen Darleen.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
On our way in just passing Stadium way on the
five where there's a tree on fire.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
You got to think, with all of our crews deployed
to the big ones, when a tree goes up on
the side of the freeway, who's putting that out?
Speaker 1 (00:23):
All right? And then the embers fly? So be safe.
Like Governor Gavin Newsom said, don't go on the road
to if you do not have to. Those three major
fires burning fifty thousand forced to evacuate, wind guests over
eighty miles per hour, fourteen hundred firefighters and no aircraft
because the wind is too high to deploy those One
(00:45):
firefighter has been injured so far and multiple people burned,
but two hundred thousand homes without power. I have so
many friends who lost their homes last night and evacuated,
and I know a lot of us are touched by this,
and it's just so yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
It really is.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
It makes you. It makes you really sad to see.
I mean, God, some of the images of the animals there,
they don't I mean, you know, they don't know what's
going on. Ellen, You've obviously lived here longer than Mike
and I have. Have you ever seen some of the
images like this that we've seen in this fire.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
No, never wind like this, never this much happening all
at one time in so many different areas.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
And uh, I think to what happened Ellen, to that point,
like the unpredictability of it that was just so heavy
and persistent all day yesterday because of the winds.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
You know, shifting and then now what now what? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:40):
And then in the you and I we were all
texting yesterday. But just that one video of the bulldozer
just moving cars, clearing a bulldozer smashing into Tesla's and
Mercedes and just clearing the path for fire crews on
Palisades and Sunset.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
I learned a new word, fire dozing. I just never
knew about fire dozing. The that bulldozer is there to
get everything out of the way for clearance, and people
leaving their cars yesterday in the Palisades, some of them
not leaving their keys, some did leave their keys, but
then the fire doser just wow.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
And then you know that Avere saw the clip of
Steve Gutenberg, the actor clearing. He was out there physically
literally getting in cars and moving them Police Academy. Yeah,
Steve Gutenberg, cocoon, three men and a baby.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Man talked about those wildfires.
Speaker 5 (02:34):
It's important, I think, to be aware, be prepared.
Speaker 6 (02:37):
You never think that a crisis like this is going
to happen in your area, and it did, you know,
And I think it's very important to to think what
you can do to make somebody's life a little easier
for that moment. You know, maybe it's just hold somebody's hand,
which I did, or help them with their suitcases, or
help them park their car, tell them it doesn't matter
(02:59):
about the car. Car may burned down, just get out
of the car and walk to the bottom. And you know,
there's so many other people like me that were helping out.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
I'm not the only one. So I'm very proud of
our community.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Here that we come together. Yeah, and give us a call.
A lot of hotspots popping up. We just want you
to be safe.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
I know, Producer Mike, you had a tree fall on
your condo, complex.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Yeah, through the roof last night. It went through the building.
Luckily it was on the other side of where we
were at, so everybody was safe. But it was just
very scary to see that. And I just drove through
the ir window fire that just came up this morning.
And when you see this stuff up close, it's just
daunting and I got chills. And it's so smoky even
inside the car. So just be careful out there.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Yeah, the video Mike sent us of the smoke Insider's car.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Yeah, and then the other thing too. And when which
you saw you you took a video on your way in.
Like the side streets, they're going to be filled with debris,
especially when the sun comes up. We won't really have
an idea of what we're dealing with until we can
see it. But like you had a neighbor who's whole
front wall it's in the road.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
I was and I came up upon it. I was, Oh,
there's a wall on the road. Yeah, So yeah, just
keep your head on a swivel, be careful, reach out
to each other. We're together here and we're here for you.
Eight hundred and ninety nine Kost hanging in there.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
It's the llenk Morning Show.
Speaker 7 (04:19):
Thank you so much for making my morning so much
easier to wake up.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
To the coast one oh three point five.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Well, with these fires and evacuations comes a lot of
celebrity real estate, especially in the Palisades. And again most
of them just saying we're just happy that there's no
loss of human life yet. But Ben Affleck, Tom Hanks,
Miles Teller, Steven Spielberg, Ree's Witherspoon, Jamie Lee, Curtis Martin, Short,
Diane Keaton. The list goes on and on and on
(04:46):
of people who live in the Palisades who have had
to evacuate. You just heard from Steve Gutenberg. He's there.
They're just there's just it's it's just moving so fast. Uh.
And the list keeps growing. So we're going to keep
you up to the minute. With all the school closures,
(05:07):
make sure that you, you know, you check it all
out before you, you know, go anywhere. And again people
being you know, asked to just stay inside, So don't
get on the roads unless you have to. We're going
to keep you up to date. We're here for you,
right by your side.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
It's the Lank Morning Show.
Speaker 8 (05:29):
You guys are great to listen to great Energy host.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
One O three point five local Late Breaking.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
We are host one of three point five. We're the
only K morning show. You're in the midst of smoke
and fire. The Palisades fire is reached the ocean, uh
and so many evacuations, power outages. All of our lines
are ringing. All right, let's just which one you want
to start at the top?
Speaker 9 (05:55):
Job?
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Who's this?
Speaker 10 (05:56):
This is Dawn I'm calling for. I'm in actually at
my company in Vernon, California, which is downtown, and it's
so bad that none of my employees are coming to work,
and the even in my building. I'm my fan and
my mask on. It is really bad.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Yeah, downtown getting all of this smoke is almost like
this corridor of smoke coming right through there. I know, Mike,
you too. You you drove right through that and it
was in your car.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Yep. It's so scary. It's so hard to see. There's
debris everywhere.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Be careful, don Can you just lock the door and leave?
Speaker 10 (06:32):
Yeah, it's my company. I just have to do a
few things, you know how it is. Yeah, I have
customer back east that has to ship stuff, and so
I have my mask and I have a huge fan
on my face and then I'm doing some stuff. But
it is so bad out there because of the Pasadena fires. Yeah,
and my sister lives in Santa Monica, but she lives
(06:55):
near fourteenth Street and Broadway, so it's not so you know,
the they're near concrete are very fortunate, but it's just
really bad out there. Pleeople, don't go out. You can't breathe.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yeah, you can't breathe. And what's the name of your company.
Speaker 10 (07:08):
Norman International?
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Norman International, Don the owner, Thank you so much for
having us on and for giving us that update.
Speaker 9 (07:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (07:17):
Yeah, stay home.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
And Don, I mean really smart on you to tell
everyone to just stay home today. That's that's what everyone
should be.
Speaker 10 (07:24):
I have a warehouse a size of a football statement
and you can't even breathe out there.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Yeah, okay, all right, well be.
Speaker 10 (07:31):
Safe you too, Thank you.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Thank you. And it's eight hundred and nine to nine
kost We are here for you.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
It's the Lank Morning Show.
Speaker 7 (07:40):
Thank you, Ellen k just real quick, a little kiss
on you. Well, thank you so much for making my day.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Host one o three point five the olan.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
K Morning Show here with you and a lot of
people being evacuated fifty thousand and growing smoking the sky.
We just went out on our balcony and we can
see the fire in the distance, Altadena, Pasadena. So these
winds are not dying down.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
And I'll tell you to you that smoke. Typically when
we see our vegetation fires, it's kind of whiter or gray.
This is black smoke, which means that's coming from structures.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Unfortunately, Yes, so you said evacuation any back hack.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
You know, I think a lot of us probably think
we're prepared, but are we really. We have to have
our earthquake bag and our emergency kit, but make sure
it's up to date for moments like this, these unpredictable moments.
And we have your go bag checklist today. This is
a lot, but it's a three day supply of non
perishable food in a bag, plus three gallons of water
(08:39):
per person. I know that seems like a lot, but
that could save your life. Ellen, we were talking a
lot of people forget to pack their necessary medications, prescriptions.
Make sure you have a supply of whatever meds you
might need for a couple of days. Obviously, change of clothes,
any extra car keys, make sure you have your cash,
a first aid kit. You don't know what's gonna happen
(08:59):
on your way out right right, something that could help
help yourself a flashlight of course, battery powered radio, copies
of important documents, your birth certificates, your passports, and then
of course any pet food or water too, because if
you're getting out with a pet, they need their supplies.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Too, So have it all ready to go, Ready to.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Go, It's see Ellen K Morning Show. Allen, we love you,
We listen to you every morning religiously.
Speaker 11 (09:22):
We implore you.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Host one oh three point five.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
We're the on K Morning Show with us now in
studio Chris Berry. iHeart twenty four to seven news. Chris,
thank you for coming in.
Speaker 12 (09:34):
What a night, Ellen, I mean it. You know, we've
watched these fires grow. But one of the things that's
kind of unusual about this, compared to a lot of
the things that we see, you know, living here in
southern California, we're accustomed to helicopters flying over freeway chases
and stuff like that. We haven't seen any real video
of this because the helicopters could not get up. So consequently,
(09:56):
I think when we have a news conference at eight
o'clock this morning, we're going to find out the devastation,
especially from that Palisades fire, is going to be massive.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
It's so emotional and so upsetting and sad, and I'm
just watching the news. Adrenalinees just not stopping. And these firefighters,
I don't they just go.
Speaker 12 (10:16):
Fourteen hundred firefighters that are out there right now, we
know that one of them, a twenty five year old female,
had a serious head injury last night. And then you
think about all the other firefighters that are positioned because
we don't know when the next fire might break out.
So yeah, you have to really hand it to those
first responders.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Chris. It's comforting having you here, just to know that
you know what's going on and that you can help
us tell everyone you know what to avoid, what to do.
And thank you so much for being here with us.
Speaker 12 (10:46):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
It's the ellen K Morning Show.
Speaker 8 (10:49):
Because this is sunshine and a ball.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
This is Ellen.
Speaker 13 (10:52):
Yeah, you go to my Morning Coast one O three
point five top stories, top of the hour, A good
morning of ellen K.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Three major fires burning lots of little fires in the
city of la has declared a state of emergency for
the whole wind event, which by the way, is officially
our strongest and over a decade officials asking everyone to
stay off the roads today and work from home. Please
do if you can ultimate room for emergen crews, as
these winds are not dying down. We have a wind
advisory and warning until six pm and it's still unclear
(11:23):
when we'll be able to resume air operations. The water
is super scoopers and also the planes. Those aircraft suspended
operations last night at eight because the winds weren't allowing
their drops to hit the hotspots. As always, we give
our endless gratitude to the crews working around the clock
to save lives and property. Thank you. Governor Gavin Newsom
still here in town and says if you're in a
(11:43):
fire zone and you're told to leave, you gotta leave.
Speaker 14 (11:47):
People were still not evacuated, still did not heed the warning.
We're just coming down the canyon. Is a reminder of
how serious this moment is and how important it is
you listen to these evacuation orders.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
Yes, the silmar Hurst fire eating fire and Altadena Pasadena,
also the Palisades fire continuing to rage. Like we said,
five football fields a minute, that is what this fire
is consuming. And now We're hearing calabasas being put on
evacuation watches, so we'll be getting people on the air
who live in these areas. Also know that in terms
of school today, a lot of district closures Azusa, Monrovia,
(12:28):
Temple City, Arcadia, Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank, also Santa Monica and Malibu,
and all of our wind and fire weather warnings remain
in place, like we said, until six pm, GUS up
to seventy eighty miles per hour, peaking again around noon.
Right now it is sixty three in Burbank. We run
on Celsias Energy Drinks. It's KOST, Los Angeles.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
This is Jeremy Renner, This is Kate Hudson.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
This is Joe Coy and I'm chilling my home girl
The Allen K Morning Show, Ellen K Morning Show on
Coast one three point five. I love you, so be
careful as you're driving. A lot of power outages, so
a lot of stop lights are out. And we are
the L and K Morning Show. It's Coast one of
three point five. Lax, we're looking at live photos. Now,
(13:13):
smoke there. Have you smoked downtown La? Have you smoke
here in Burbank? As we can see a bit of
the eaton fire from our studio window. It just posted
it artificial ollen K what we're looking at And I'm ling, Hi,
I'm right man O, I'm social Queen Darling.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
I'm producer Mike Romos.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
And we came in this morning from all areas, really
like the four of us are we converge here in
Burbank from all points. And I know, Mike, you drove
right through it on the two tons.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
Right through the her window fire and there's debris everywhere,
smoke coming into the car as I'm driving in. I
drove through a d tour through downtown LA and it
was just smoky everywhere. It's artist see.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
And then Ryan right here in Burbank. I wonder if
the Burbank Airport is I see that direction. It still
looks like blue sky, but then lax covered and.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Covered, blanketed, really just thick gray. I mean, it almost
doesn't even look like mourning. And some of these shots
were seeing nineteen.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
You took side streets and that's why we know about
the stop lights that are out.
Speaker 15 (14:14):
Yeah, so many stop lights not working. My area that
I came from Ontario, Ranch Cuckamonga area. I just got
a text that my son's school is not going to
happen today. Yeah, because we're so close to the foothills
that the wind quality, the air quality is really bad. Yeah,
but I would say just be cautious. People were being
really good about, you know, giving each other turns at
the stop lights, even though they weren't turning any colors.
Speaker 4 (14:37):
Right, yeah, and.
Speaker 15 (14:39):
Just take your time and if you have to be out.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
There, yeah right. Our president emailed us all sight and
just said stay home, that we're here for you, with
you eight hundred ninety two nine kost.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
And Ellen you're in Hollywood. I'm it's remarkable your power
didn't go out last night, because you guys lose power quick.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Well, it did. It went out twice. I did it restored, okay,
but we didn't like. We didn't know, and usually when
it's out, it's out. So I woke up to two
notices and I thought, oh wow, okay. So then I
drive out. There's my neighbor's wall in the street. So
I had to turn around and go back another way.
A lot of debris and we're here to keep you
(15:18):
up to the minutes effecting the entire Southland. Let's see.
I was thinking two of the Palisades fire burning so fast,
and all of the celebrity homes and the celebrities who
have been evacuated. And I think one one night that
were sitting at the Golden Globes, laughing, having fun and
the next day their home is gone. It's like life
(15:40):
in the Southland. Let's see, let's go to Diane. You know,
we just want to talk, so good morning.
Speaker 8 (15:50):
You know what, you guys are amazing. You guys are amazing.
You're just all my prayers are going that way. I'm
an Orange County and I am just praying that nothing
else happened. And Mike, you just said, Ellen, there's no
depth yet, and let's just keep it that way and
(16:10):
have the Lord pray for everybody.
Speaker 9 (16:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (16:13):
Yeah, it's just devastating, you know. And there's a part
of me that just gets so mad because like, we
can send millions of dollars everywhere else, but we can't
stop a fire.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
You know, it.
Speaker 8 (16:27):
Don't get me started. You know, we just band together
and you're wonderful. Yeah, you guys are wonderful. Thank you
for being there. I know that that was a risk
for all.
Speaker 11 (16:39):
Of you that live on the West coast, you know,
the west side.
Speaker 8 (16:41):
Of this beautiful state we live in.
Speaker 11 (16:44):
But all we can do is.
Speaker 8 (16:45):
Just band together and pray and just stuff that everybody
comes out of this good life.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
Yeah, thank you so much for your call.
Speaker 8 (16:52):
And you guys are doing a fabulous job. And thank
you so much for every morning waking up to you.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Thank you. Our hearts are broken. Last night I was
watching the Palisades fire. And when I first moved here,
I lived on Los Leones in a guesthouse. And the
deal was I could live in this little house. It
was like a loft bed. It overlooked Gladstone's if I
took care of the owner's dog. His name is John.
He's a German shepherd, so John and I would would
(17:19):
hang out. And I took care of that dog and
lived in that guest house. And then I saw Los Leones,
all the homes there. I went up in flames last
night and just thought about all those beautiful views and
then the destruction and a lot of those restaurants that
are tucked in there, Jorjio Baldi, Gladstone's. There's just so
(17:41):
many that are probably gone by now. So we're going
to keep you up to the minute on everything. As
the sun rises, we will be getting a better view
of what remains. And we're here for you. So cullus.
It's eight hundred ninet two nine KOST wake up with Lank.
Speaker 16 (17:58):
You guys are the best. I loveless to you. I
listened to you every day.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
We'd love being here with you.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
Coast one o three point five.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
Thank you for having us so on Coast one of
three point five. We're the only k Morning show. We
are here for you. All the lines are ringing. We
sit here in Burdbank, a lot of black smoke right
out our window and our balcony, and that would be
the eating fire that we are looking at. Also, you know,
the South End engulfed by apocalyptic wildfires fueled by hurricane
(18:26):
strength winds. And uh, thank you for all your calls
and checking in all the lines ringing constant updates. Hey,
good morning, Hey.
Speaker 7 (18:36):
Good morning. I just found you know. This is Audrey
over in Northridge. I had that like my sister's school
was sent home in Tarzana. She works at the it's
a school because due to no power. Okay, but yeah,
so be safe out there. But our friend's daughter who
works in Century City hr called them and told them
(18:59):
to stay home because the air quality is really bad.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
Well, thanks for thanks for having us on and calling
us and giving us that update.
Speaker 7 (19:08):
Of course. Well you guys be safe and have a
good day for you too.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Yeah, we are here for you, and we also have
the llen KQ and A. So let's talk about it.
Get away, think about Vegas and Mariah. Maybe we'll take
some stress off of this day. Just watching the news
is it's really upsetting. So we're here for you and
Mariah Carey in Vegas. All you have to do is
(19:34):
call us. Men are more likely to have these hidden
away than women. So what do you think that is
your llen KQ and A. You can talk with. You
can tell us how you're doing, where you are, what
is the smoke like? You have loved ones who are safe.
That's the most important thing. And then also the Q
(19:56):
and A. Maybe we can send you to Vegas for Mariah.
So men are more likely to have the hidden away
than women. It's eight hundred ninety two nine KOST.
Speaker 13 (20:03):
Coast one O three point five The ellen k Morning Show.
Follow us at Coast one O three five dot com.
Speaker 4 (20:09):
It's the llen k Q and A on coast one
O three point five.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Hey Claudia, Hi, Hey Claudia, you're in San Dimas. How
is it looking there?
Speaker 11 (20:18):
Oh it's looking good.
Speaker 8 (20:19):
Just Wendy, Wendy and a lot of that.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Yeah, so Wendy. Well, Claudia, what do you think it is?
Men are more likely to have these hidden away than
women are. Secret Oh, just secrets, men keeping secrets. We
have a listener who has several burner phones he keeps
in his trunk and he told us in the wheel well,
the sports spare wheel goes, that's his hiding spot.
Speaker 5 (20:41):
Yep.
Speaker 11 (20:42):
Oh wow.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
Ellen asked him are these four business or pleasure? And
he had no problems saying pleasure.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
They're pleasure phones. Oh wow. So he's hiding secrets for sure.
But it's not the right answer. Thank you so much
for having a song.
Speaker 11 (20:55):
You'd be safe. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
Thanks good at Riverside High Heather, Hi, Heather, your guest
is so good. Good morning. Men are more likely to
have these hidden away than women are, And I love
your thought process. What is your guests?
Speaker 11 (21:14):
I said they're feeling their feelings.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
I think a lot of men hide their feelings away,
for sure, Ryan, you never did. I probably should I
can start, but yeah, their feelings, that's a great guess.
Speaker 13 (21:27):
It's not the right answer, Heather, Oh, thank you anyway, all.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Right, have a safe day. Darryl, Hacienda Heights, Hello.
Speaker 9 (21:35):
Daryl, Good morning, Ellen, Good.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
Morning, Darryl.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
How how are you?
Speaker 9 (21:41):
It's good? How about you?
Speaker 1 (21:43):
We're good. We're in Burbank. Half the sky is blue
and half the sky is black. So it's it's disturbing,
it's sad, it's weird.
Speaker 9 (21:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
Yeah, but Darryl, let's see if we can get you
to Vegas with Mariah Carey. So what are you hiding?
Men are high these and women aren't.
Speaker 9 (22:03):
Well, I'm not, but I think it's like love letters
from my neck or something.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Ah, love letters are love notes. I once busted a
guy was dating and I opened up his tooth like
where the toothpaste was in the door in the bathroom
and he was out of town and I was taking
care of his dog house sitting and there they were
little love notes. And it turns out he'd fly back
to Baltimore to see his family. He really liked flight attendants,
(22:31):
oh my god, and they really liked him. No, love
notes is right. You are going to Vegas.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
Where to go?
Speaker 4 (22:40):
Darryl?
Speaker 9 (22:42):
All right, thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
Darryl's got nothing to hide.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
It's the Morning Show.
Speaker 9 (22:52):
He's so good this morning. Thank you.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
Post one O three point by top stories, top of
the hour.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Good morning, melon k and we're keeping an eye on
all the fires burning. The Eaten fire has burned twenty
two hundred acres in Altadena, still zero percent contained. Some
homeowners even just staying with our homes with garden hoses,
trying to put out any fire they can. Of course,
the city of La declaring a state of emergency for
the wind event, which by the way, is officially our
(23:20):
strongest in over a decade. Officials asking you to stay
off the roads today, work from home if you can.
We need to make room for emergency crews. Our very
own Caar and Sharp in Eagle Rock has lost power
since seven pm last night and hundreds of thousands are
without power today. In terms of school today, we have
the latest list of full district closures. Those are listed
(23:41):
in our blog at Coast one of three five dot
com and Rick Cruso, a Palisades resident billionaire real estate developer,
called into the news commenting on what happened in the Palisades.
Speaker 17 (23:54):
So it's devastating, but what is most concerning to me
is our first responders and our firefighters who are trying
to battle this. There's no water in the Palace State.
There's no water coming out of the fire hyder. This
is an absolute mismanagement. Fider city, not the firefighter's fault,
(24:14):
but it's fighter city.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
And over twenty nine hundred acres burned there, stretching all
the way from to Panga State Park to the Malibu
Coast over to Silmar, and the Hearst fire five hundred acres,
like the others, zero percent contained, and the Eden fire
also zero containment. We're here for you. All of our
wind and fire weather warnings remain in place until least
six pm. GUS up to seventy miles per hour today
(24:36):
Glendora sixty five for your high Guardina seventy now sixty
in Burbank and we run on celsas energy drinks. It's
KOST Los Angeles Coast one o three point five.
Speaker 4 (24:50):
It's the L and K Morning Show.
Speaker 16 (24:52):
I love you guys.
Speaker 11 (24:53):
You are wonderful and you encuns my morning.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
And you enhance ours. But being there.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
Coast one oh three point five.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
They want to say happy anniversary to Pink and her
husband Carrie Hart nineteen years today their anniversary, and also
Carrie Heart will be on a box show tonight that
your sister in law is on Ryan.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
That's right, season three of Special Forces World's Toughest Test.
You can see my sister in law, Ali Fedotowski. Man,
I'll go up against Carrie Hart, some Olympians, Cam Newton,
oh my god, a bunch of BA athletes competing in
this tough test tonight on Fox.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
It's all right. We are the only K Morning show.
Thank you so much for staying in touch with us
and giving us updates. Places where you live in the Palisades,
yesterday it was a fire dozer just dozing cars out
of the way because people had to just leave their cars.
You know, they're asked to leave your keys in the car,
but a lot of people just jammed out of there.
(25:49):
So the bulldozer took the cars out to clear the
path for fireworkers. Steve Guttenberg was on the scene talking
about his community.
Speaker 5 (25:58):
It's so important, I think, to be aware, be prepared.
Speaker 6 (26:01):
You never think that a crisis like this is going
to happen in your area. And it did, you know,
And I think it's very important too to think what
you can do to make somebody's life a little easier
for that moment. You know, maybe it's just hold somebody's hand,
which I did, or help them with their suitcases, or
help them park their car, tell them it doesn't matter
(26:24):
about the car. The car may burned down, just get
out of the car and walk.
Speaker 5 (26:28):
To the bottom.
Speaker 6 (26:28):
And you know, there's so many other people like me
that were helping out.
Speaker 5 (26:32):
I'm not the only one. So I'm very proud of
our community here.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
Yeah, everyone's coming together. Palisades Fire, Eaton Hurst Woodleigh fire.
Four major fires burning. Two have passed in the Eaten fire.
That's the latest that we have so far, and so
many calls coming in. Every line is full question online
three Good morning.
Speaker 7 (26:52):
Hi.
Speaker 11 (26:52):
My name is Julie and my mom lives near the
Eating fire on by Woodlid and Bidido and I was
watching on news last night. We still don't know if
her house cut on fire, and now everybody's in Hasting's
rant at the other fire. I was wondering how could
I find out if her house was affected by the suck?
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Oh my gosh, Wow, we don't have that information, and
I don't know that there would be an agency you
could call to get that yet. I know that now
as the sun is rising, you know, there may be
a different view. I don't know. They can't send up airplanes.
I was wondering about drones. Oh yeah, but the winds
(27:33):
are so high. They's seventy miles per hour.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
Is your mom with you?
Speaker 18 (27:38):
No?
Speaker 11 (27:38):
My mom went to my sister's house in Laburn, Okay.
My two brothers evacuated, but my one brother staves to
water down the house. It's an old neighborhood. The thoughts
of old freeze. It's very dry out there, and I'm
just really worried. I saw the school up on the
wind which is just a couple of houses away from
(27:59):
her house. The school burned down. I think there was
some houses on fire on del Rey and Bela Vista,
and we're just really concerned.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
I'm so sorry.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Do you know are there Do you maybe you know
a neighbor or something that that maybe stayed behind that
you could reach out to.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Your brother still available?
Speaker 11 (28:20):
Mayor Rardon's nephew and his sister live on the same
street my mom lives on, and he was taking video
late last night. We did send us a picture around midnight.
The house was still standing, but there was a fire
right behind her house on the street behind her house.
And we haven't heard from anybody yet.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
Yeah, well, praying for you, and you know the most
important thing is is life. So that everyone's okay.
Speaker 11 (28:46):
Thank you, God bless everybody. And it's just as dad
thing that's happening, yeah all over. So we need help, yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:54):

us a call. It's eight hundred nine kost. Sometimes it
just helps to talk and also to give you money.

being here with us. And that's coming up.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (29:31):
Are you okay? Are you in smoke? Are you staying home?
Speaker 19 (29:37):
Luckily for us, the Wins were the only problem over
in our area. But nothing that I can see hurts
the neighborhood. So we're doing florry.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
Well, you just want a thousand dollars your caller twenty

black smoke in the sky that is coming from the
Eton fire. Twenty two hundred acres burned so far, one
hundred structures destroyed, and two people have passed in the
Eating fire. Alta Dina, our very own Karen Sharp is

Speaker 1 (32:49):
Top Stories, Top of the Hour. Good morning, I'm Ellen K,
and let's get you the latest on these four major
fires that are burning. La PD Chief Jim McDonald said,
any evacuation order comes your way, follow it.
Speaker 21 (33:03):
And we really really need your compliance on that because
if we have to send people in to try and
make rescues, those people are putting their lives on the
line directly for something that could have been avoidable.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
All right, so we have to listen to that. Christian Crawley,
Laft fire chief, reminds us all to stay vigilant.
Speaker 22 (33:22):
We're absolutely not out of danger. Yet with the strong
winds that continue to push through the city in the
county today, I will tell you and we are all
committed to our first responders, our firefighters will remain focused
on protecting lives and property.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
All right, Palisades, eating Silmar Woolsey, your four major fires,
five thousand acres burning Palisades, no fatalities, but many civilian
injuries too did perish in the Eaten fire. And we
are here for you, give you the latest. All of
our wind and fire weather warnings remain in place until
at least six pm. They're saying noon wins are going
to pick up again. Just like Christian Crawley said, LAFD,
(34:03):

and right now it is sixty five in Burbank. We
have half blue sky, have black sky from a lot
of smoke. This is KOST Los Angeles. It's Coast one
o three point five.
Speaker 4 (34:18):

you and Mike had a lot further to drive in
and Mike literally drove through fire to get here. And Darlene,
you took a bunch of scary side roads.
Speaker 15 (34:47):
Yeah, and the street lights weren't working. But you know,
slow and steady wins the race. That's right, and just
be careful. And everyone was doing a great job taking
turns when the lights weren't working, So just be aware
of all of that stuff.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
Yeah, those are the kinds of things that we don't
think about every day. But we are here, we are
live with you, and thank you so much for all
your calls. Let's go to oh another Darlene, Darlene, what's up.
Speaker 18 (35:16):
Well, I'm on my way to work.

Speaker 18 (35:19):
About some of the people I work with who live
out that way that they might have to come to
work and they might be in trouble not showing up
for work.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
Oh oh, and I just wish.
Speaker 18 (35:32):
More employers, would you know, understand that in a situation
like this, just use this from coming to work.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Well, We're so sorry for some of your co workers.
We hope that nobody gets punished for not being able
to get to work.
Speaker 18 (35:50):
Yes, and not to be worried about, you know, making
money for one day, but to take care of your belt.
Oh and thank you so much for being there and
help us. I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (36:01):

of Special Forces World's Toughest Test.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
YEP, they filmed this in Wales. It was top secret.
Of course, we knew that she was shipping off to
go film this thing. And she's doing it alongside some
elite athletes and they put them through the ringer and
it is on tonight on Fox. I'm excited to see
how she does. Yeah right, yeah, I mean it's intense,
the stuff they they go through.
Speaker 1 (37:49):

You and I live a little closer, but still, ye.
Speaker 2 (38:19):
I can see all the smoke right behind you, Ellen,
right now. It's scary looking. It looks like out of
a film right behind you.
Speaker 3 (38:25):
Yeah, and that one's coming from the eating fire where
it's just it's nothing's contained nothing, all right.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
Well, praying for everyone, yep. And we never show with
