Speaker 1 (00:00):
And it's coast one of three point five with the
LNK Morning show Man today, someone's going to win one
thousand dollars. Will it be you to say it out loud?
I'm going to get that cash. Bruno Mars locked out
of Heaven between eight and nine. Also, Katy Perry will
be gracing our studio at eight this morning. She's a daredevil.
I don't know if you saw the video or the

(00:22):
pictures of Katie and Orlando her love jumping out of
a helicopter into the ocean, and that was at least
fifty feet.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Speaking of jumping, yeah, I had a meeting yesterday with
our sales team. Shout out, Jeff Thomas, Patrick Conroy. I'm
repelling down the side of a building twenty five stories
on September twenty seventh.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Okay, and why well?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Raise to raise money for the Union Rescue Mission, which,
by the way, they are doing such great work and
their current platform is just save one. So it's just
to get one person off the streets. It's to get
one woman into a shelter if she's an abusive relationship.
It's to provide food for one child, right, just help one.
So we're raising money September twenty seventh, and I will

(01:08):
be jumping off a building.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
What are the safety protocols?

Speaker 3 (01:11):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
So when you say jumping off, you mean repelling, repelling.
So okay, so I'll be tethered. Okay, tethered and repelling,
but I don't know we ever repelled before?

Speaker 3 (01:20):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Okay, will you practice?

Speaker 3 (01:22):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Okay, they did a big squishy thing at the bottom,
just in case you slip and fall.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
No, do you have life insurance?

Speaker 1 (01:29):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:31):
We might need to call Jacob and Ronnie.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Oh my god. Okay, well let's call Jacob and I'm.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
Ellen, I'm Social Queen Darling.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
We're going Inside Entertainment. Next. Taylor Swift closes her Wembley
Stadium residency tonight. Will tell you what she's doing. It's

Coast three point five Inside Entertainment with Ellen k Our.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Taylor Swift closes her Wembley Stadium residency tonight and in
honor of her final show. The London Mirror spoke with
some people who will be there and they're all named
Taylor Swift. They're all from England. There's one who's twenty
four years old. She said she was mistaken for Taylor
at Philippines customs. Her name is Taylor Swift for mom
googled the name to check that it didn't also belong

(02:25):
to a serial killer and then decided, I'm going to
name you Taylor Swift. There's another one who's a guy.
He's Taylor Swift. He's twenty two years old, so he
goes by the name Reese because he said he was
bullied as a kid for being Taylor Swift. And then
a twenty year old from England explained how she got
her name. Said her dad's last name was Swift and
her mom had a doll when she was younger named Taylor,

(02:45):
so it was just a coincidence. And the Drew Barrymore
shows on the verge of cancelation. CBS owns the show.
The network plans to add a third hour of CBS
mornings to compete with ABC and NBC's extended morning shows,
and there's nowhere else for Drew to land outside of
the nine am hour and Boy Meets World. What a
great show. Well, the star Daniel Fisher revealed breast cancer. Yeah,

(03:07):
she revealed on the Pod Meets World podcast that she
was recently diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. Get your mammograms.
I know they're scary. I just did mine. Go get it.
You'll be happy you did.

Speaker 7 (03:20):
I was recently diagnosed with DCIS, which stands for doctyl
carcinoma in C two, which is a form of breast cancer.
It is very, very very early. It's technically stage zero.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Okay, that's good. That's good news. Gotta catch it. My
mom did never came back fifteen years. She got it early.
So get your MAM's. I'm coming up. We're going to
send you to the bowl. Leave it here to win
on Coast one three point five.

Speaker 6 (03:51):

Pick Martini at the Hollywood Bowl.

Your happiness hacks for life, Ellen, What is your grocery store?
Oh gosh, I rotate, I rotate. I do Big Ralphs
here in Studio City. I love you Big Ralps. I
also do Vaughan's Studio City on Ventura and go to
Gelson's in the valley and also who oh yeah, I've

(05:25):
got a bunch. Why do you have one?

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Well, I mean when I was in Glendora, that Vaughn's
was my was my go to. Now I'm in Rights
the street, I'm still struggling to find my store. There's
an Alsco across the street, but that's not like ideal
for every day, right, dar, what's your store?

Speaker 4 (05:39):
I do different stores too, depending on rails.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
So I get my produce at Gardanas because it's always cheaper.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Yeah, and then I get like, my go to is
State of Brothers. Oh yeah, they have great meat. Great me.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Uh So, talking about stores, next time you go to
a store, do you guys grab a cart when you go?

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Do you immediately look?

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Yes, don't stop?

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Why you spend more money? But I need to know
everything in a cart.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Science says if you grab a cart, you are automatically
going to spend more money from grabbing a basket.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
If I buy a watermelon, it's already filled the basket.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Put it in the basket.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
No, but I have to get the milk too, and
the chicken breast. It'll all fit, trust me.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
No, No, if you have a cart, Science says you're
gonna automatically spend more money.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
I walk in saying take my money.

Speaker 1 (06:25):

not stopped. Authorities are warning that a bigger quake could

(07:23):
follow this, as the nearby Abko volcano is showing signs
of coming live and NASA still has not decided when
or how to bring astronauts home from the ISS. A
decision on when two astronauts stuck in space will return
to Earth will be made by the end of the month.
Which Wilmore and Sunita Williams have been aboard that International
Space Station since going up in June, and it's determined

(07:44):
that the astronauts cannot return on the star Liner. They
may be forced to wait until February twenty twenty five.
They will miss the NFL, the iHeartRadio Music Festival, Halloween, Thanksgiving,
Brad PITTSF one Movie, Christmas, New York's Eve, and the
WWE Royal Rumble, more than half of the NBA season,
all missed by the astronauts. What they say, they're doing fine,

(08:04):
and they can watch all that stuff in space, all right.
It's one hundred and thirteen million dollars. Sign on bonus

in the eighteen nineties. But it was actual and not him.
It was Nikola Tesla. Tesla. Tesla was the first guy

(10:49):
to demonstrate radio in eighteen ninety three. Whoa, Yeah, he
came up with an early design for a radio long
before Marconi got his hands on it. So it's really
should be the Tesla radio. Huh the Tesla Awards, Yeah,
because they do the Marconi's. Yeah, it's the Tesla's. You
want to wait at Tesla and then it will be
shaped like a Tesla trucker.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Right by the way, did you know? And this is
a this is a true fact. When we speak through
the microphone and it goes to the speakers or the

travel and the music and all of the things you
hear on the radio seven hundred miles per hour.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
You got.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
You've gotta friding me.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
The llen k Morning Show on Coast one of three
point five lay in the best minutes of the eighties
and nineties and today and it is Coast one of
three point five. Here's your top stories you see. Berkeley
researchers created a prototype earbud but can detect the signs
of drowsiness in the brain. The earbuds detect brain waves
in the same way as an EEG does, a test

(18:10):
that doctors use to measure electrical activity in the brain.
This is sensitive enough to detect alpha waves. It's a
pattern of brain activity that increases when you start to
fall asleep, so they say no more dozing at the wheel.
Thanks to these fatigue detecting earbuds, they should be going
to market by early next year. And lifeguards and Long
Beach made an almost shocking discovery yesterday. A human skull

(18:32):
washed the shore laying on the sand. Turns out, though
it's just a prop, it was pure plastic. Medical examiners
were called to the scene. They determined it was fake,
but not before the entire beach was shut down for hours.
Maybe you saw our dealt with that closure yesterday, and
we are just seventy two days away from a Halloween
and a potentially haunted house has hit the market in
Seemi Valley. It's the Poltergeist House from the movie. For

(18:53):
the first time in forty five years, this iconic piece
of property is up for sale. It's listed at one
point two million dollars and realtor dot com promises the
house is ghost free. It's a big one too, and
the infamous kitchen is still in its original form. And
say hello tour. Hottest day of the week temps are
top and triple digits. A gradual cool down kicks in

(19:14):
tomorrow and look forward to even cooler still on Friday.
But come up to one hundred today Palmdale one hundred
as well. We run on Celsius Energy drinks Kost Los Angeles.
It's coast one of three point five. Katie Perry is here.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
Let's stop.

Speaker 6 (19:44):
Girls, Sez Duke sp.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
Oh the hits. But you really don't need an introduction.

Speaker 9 (20:10):
Oh okay, Oh yeah no, we're just old friends, so
we don't need to like introduce.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
I love your leather outfit, thank you so much. It's
covering my course so good. Yeah, I think Katy Perry's here.

Speaker 4 (20:23):
Hi, I'm Katy Perry.

Speaker 9 (20:24):
And I'm here at ellen k and we love being here.
And there's some gifts here and it says happy birthday
to you.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
It feels like they're for.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Me or for my that's well, Daisy, you can give
it to it for your birthday if you want.

Speaker 9 (20:39):
Okay, oh my, goddess, a sweatsuit that has daisies on it.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
Thank you so much. You really thought ahead, or you
were shopping and you found it as well.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
I thought it. Oh my, I made a special trip
called a friend.

Speaker 9 (20:53):
That's really really really sweet. She will love these and
she needs these. She wears she loves her sweatsuits.

Speaker 4 (20:59):
That's very very thoughtful of you.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Thank you well, Katie, congratulations on this baller of a tune.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
When did you write this? What were you thinking? How
did it come to you?

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Which song?

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Woman's wifetime?

Speaker 4 (21:13):
Lifetimes? Well, Lifetimes is a song.

Speaker 9 (21:17):
When I first heard a little bit of the track,
which was already kind of remade, which was already made,
not the whole thing, just like the idea some like
broad Strokes, I was like, oh my gosh, I just
want to make this about love.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
Because the whole record is I Love You.

Speaker 9 (21:34):
It's one four three, comes out September twentieth, and that's
what it means in some digital language. For me, it's
my angel number. But lifetimes, you know, I just feel
like I finally found my soulmate. And it's so interesting
because I thought maybe i'd find it a partner, and
of course Orlando is somewhat that, but when you have

(21:55):
your child, there's just something that really trumps it. And I,
you know, I just I ask her every night now,
I say, will you find me in every lifetime?

Speaker 4 (22:04):
And she says yes, thank God.

Speaker 9 (22:07):
But it's just about finding your soul connection. And it
could be your mom, it could be your dad, it
could be your child, it could be your pet, it
could be your best friend. And so that's what I
was just writing from that place of like finally, you know,
and I'm gonna love I'm gonna love her every lifetime
and repeat it and maybe she'll come back as like
some other you know, connection, we'll see. That's I believe

(22:29):
in the reincarnation hall bit. So you know, yeah, yeah
you're Daisy, my Daisy Dove.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
Well that's amazing. I love eternal love and I love
that way of thinking too. Yeah, do you want to
introduce your song on the L and K Morning Show
on Coast one and three point five.

Speaker 4 (22:43):
Yes, Hi everyone, It's Katy Perry.

Speaker 9 (22:46):
This next song is called Lifetimes on Coast one of
three point five The ellen K Show.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
Katie Perry Lifetimes. Her album one four three is one
month away from today.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
It's coming out.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
Katie. We have been friends through many, many, many of
your hits. It's always so cozy having you here. So
what is in your head with this record?

Speaker 9 (24:00):
I'm just like, you know, I'm just grateful. Yeah, yeah,
I'm just doing my thing. I love that I get
to wake up and do it every single day and
I get to go, like, you know, for instance, I
get to go on the VMAs and do several consecutive.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Minutes on your vanguard of thank You, and it's so cool.

Speaker 9 (24:17):
I've had a video that has been viewed a couple
of times, and so we're going to be celebrating some
of that and then introducing some people to some new
music and.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
Then just also being like, Hi, I'm here.

Speaker 9 (24:27):
Yeah, yeah, yah, yeah, Like I was raising a whole
human for about three and a half years, and now
that she's got her emotional you know, support and her foundation.
I feel like, Mommy, it's time to put on the
Superwoman costume again.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
Yeah. Do you ever just sit back and realize your
body of work and do you just take a moment
and to kind of take it in and enjoy.

Speaker 9 (24:50):
It's the first thing I say every day I wake up,
and I do like a little gratitude rhyme because I
just before I look at my phone and yeah, like
two minutes later, I'm looking at my phone like every human,
but like the first thing I'd say is thank you
God for today. I'm grateful in every way. And then
I list the things that I'm grateful for that come
to my mind. And that's like the first sound out

(25:12):
of my voice, and I transition from just thinking it
to saying it because I wanted it to be a
really I want it to be a more solid energy
because thoughts are energy. But then then actual sound is
even powerful, more powerful I think, I mean in the
business of sound.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Yes, yeah, so yes, So I just come at it.

Speaker 9 (25:30):
With gratitude, and you know, I try if something doesn't
go my way, I try and find the positive in
it and the lesson in it and learn from it.
There's you know, there's no regrets, there's no mistakes necessarily,
there's just evolution.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Yeah, that's a great way to live, Katy Perry. But
living in the public eye, how do you handle negativity?

Speaker 4 (25:54):
This is what I've done now.

Speaker 9 (25:57):
If I don't have anything necessarily super kind to say,
or I'm just being a little b I T C H,
which I can be, I'm five.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
Scorpios and one honey. You don't want to live in
my head.

Speaker 9 (26:08):
And don't cross me, okay, But I can use this
energy for good.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
So yeah, so you do.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
How do you I.

Speaker 9 (26:17):
Say, I say, instead of instead of like raising yourn eyebrow,
I just say, God bless them on their journey.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Oh that's a very good thing to say, God bless
them on their journey.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Good.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
Yeah, you know some people say some people say.

Speaker 9 (26:30):
Interesting, Oh you can read between the lines negative, it
can be negative.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
I just say God bless them on their journey.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
Yeah good, and I do hope that for them. Yeah yes, yeah.

Speaker 8 (26:42):
But also God will take control. Yeah, and God will
do whatever they need to do. There is so much goodness, Katie,
cause and effect.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
It comes to.

Speaker 9 (26:53):
You in other biblical terms, but just.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
So Lifetimes Out.

Speaker 4 (27:04):
What comes up must go down. I'm so high, I
am piercing the veil. It's our fault, piercing the veil.

Speaker 1 (27:15):

So science says, next time you go shopping, take a
basket instead of a cart. You will subconsciously spend less
money at the store. Okay, it's a built in way
to save money and for the fluffiest pancakes or waffles,
replace half of your water with ginger ale.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
I just never heard that one before.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
I'm going to try that this weekend. Sometimes we make
codiac cakes on Great We make them on Sunday. Calvin
loves them. Yeah, and they even do the high protein
or you can do the buckwheat. We just like to
go playing with the high protein. Let's go to a Russ.

Here are your top stories. I'm Ellen K and seven
eleven merging? Will seven eleven have a new owner? Circle
K parent company is making an offer, and so seven
and I Holdings, which operates more than eighty thousand, seven
eleven stores worldwide, confirmed in its own news release that
it had received the proposal and that the company's board
of directors, so pretty soon Circle K and seven to

(32:13):
eleven may merge. These are a lot of stores, thirty
one countries and territories can be huge. And what about
this making a big comeback because of influencers and content creators.
It's the photo booth, those clunky machines making an unexpected comeback.
There's something about the lighting or the way the photo
was created that just makes you look amazing ten times

(32:36):
better than you actually look. According to a bunch of
content creators, they say, you have one trn, you're done.
You can't be Kim Kardashian taking five hundred selfies. So
the photo booth coming back. I have seen them at
a lot of different bridal showers and baby showers, so
that's fun. And La Luna. Not sure if you noticed
the moon last night or this morning, but it's a
rare super blue moon. It's here for the next couple
of days. It peaked last night, staying strong through tomorrow.
