Place, fifty mile per hour gusts. So uh okay, well
we're going to get through this.
Speaker 5 (01:18):
I think the last sort of giant Malibu fire we
had was twenty nineteen. I remember Gwen Stefani was supposed
to come in, but she ended up canceling or rescheduling because.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
It was just so tragic what was happening. And that
was what five years ago.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Yeah, I hear it like every five years we get
a big one in Malibu. It's just statistically Yeah, that's
been proven.
Speaker 6 (01:40):

Then Gwenn came by when she could.

now jay Z and he was on a red carpet.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Attorneys for jay Z filed the motion to dismiss the
suit accusing him and Diddy of assaulting a thirteen year old.
Jay also called it only fair that the woman, who
was now approaching forty years old, come public with her name.
She filed her civic suit under the common pseudonym Jane Doe.
But Beyonce and jay Z made a rare red carpet
appearance last night at the LA premiere of Mufasa the
(02:51):
Lion King, posing for photos with Blue Ivy there on
the on the carpet and Beyonce's mother, Tina Knowles, who
when the news about jay Z came out ABC seven Chicago,
Tina Knowles put a heart liked it and she said
she was hacked. So she said anything that's out of
character for her, Please respect her and know that she
(03:11):
would never do something like that.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
So I just to get this straight, someone hacked into
her account, didn't post anything else, but they just liked
a single post.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
That's what she says. Tina Noles copy that all right,
and The Joe Rogan Experience has been dethroned as the
most popular podcast at Apple and Spotify. The new champion
Travis Kelce's sister in law, Kylie Kelsey, who launched this month,
Not Gonna Lie. Kylie said she started her own podcast
to counter things that her husband Jason does and says,
(03:42):
so she had to do this just on the defense.
Speaking of the Kelsey's what about Taylor Swift? She awarded
her crew one hundred and ninety seven million dollars in
bonuses for the Eras tour, so she opened up her
her wallet and paid as she made two billion dollars
off that, okay. Pamela Anderson got a Gold Globe nomination
for The Last show Girl. The movie Amelia Perez got
(04:04):
ten nominations, including acting notes for Zoe Saldana and Selena Gomez.
The Bear five Golden Globe nominations, but a big snub
Gladiator too. Denzel Washington Best Supporting Actor, but the movie
did not get a Golden Globe nomination. All right, Dwight
Howard quit the Full Monty. It just premiered last night
on Fox. It's full nudity. It's all to raise awareness
(04:25):
for testicular cancer and other male cancers. All right. Dwight
Howard was in there with Anthony Anderson and he doesn't
feel comfortable getting naked. I was a little bit uncomfortable
when I got back home.
Speaker 9 (04:41):
You know, I don't think Marquis it's a really fine
acceptable for me doing certain things.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
But I just got to be honest, which would be
collaying with and let you know. All right, so he's
out of there, Dwight Howard. But Anthony Anderson had kind
of the opposite feeling of taking his clothes off with
the full money, he feels free.
Speaker 9 (05:03):
I've always been the chubby, husky kid and grew into
that and grew to accept it. I'm comfortable within my skin,
and what do I have to be ashamed of nothing.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
I think he's sending a great message. I was a
special These guys did this, you know, for a cause,
and it would be freeing. I guess after you know,
the initial shock wears off.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
I get the Dwight thing though, with you don't want
your kids.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Yeah, because they're hard to walk through the door.
Speaker 5 (05:35):
Their friends talk to each other, and you see Dwight
naked nikes.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
Big old yikes.
Speaker 7 (05:43):
It's the L and K Morning Shell.
Speaker 10 (05:44):

Speaker 7 (05:54):
Cost one o three point five.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
No matter how you say it, it's Merry Christmas to Malamu.
That's how they say it in Congo. And one of
our listeners sent us these in the mail. Thank you,
tim So Chris Amas in India, salamat natal and Indonesia,
it's all Merry Christmas. And of course Italy buon Natale.
(06:18):
Thank you for having us on. Thank you for joining
us on a talk back Tuesday. We're keeping you up
to the moment on the Franklin fire. Eighteen hundred plus
acres burned in Malibu and there's just a bunch of hotspots,
so we'll be keeping you informed on that. And we
also got a big bag of snail mail, like actual
(06:40):
letters in the mail. We love your letters. This one
comes from the student body at Glendora High School. Nice.
You know they all got together to write about the
teacher mister Tom Johnson. They want us to call him. Said,
he just turned fifty nine years old, and we know
he's older now than Fred Flinstone's grandma. Oh god, I'll say,
(07:01):
do we tell mister Johnson the reason he's losing the
hair on his head is because he needs it for
his ears, nose and bad. Absolutely do. We care about
him a lot and appreciate everything he does for us
on the daily straight back cell. And mister Johnson is
a teacher who legit cares and will always make time
to be sure we have an understanding of what he
(07:21):
is teaching us. That is so sweet. They said, Is
there anything you and your Coast Morning crew can do
to salvage mister Johnson's yanky birthday? Oh my god, they say,
we don't have much time. He's so old. If he
was milk you sniff it for no.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
He says.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
He says, he's always trying to teach us that the
Beatles are the best band in the world. Okay, we're
gonna call mister Johnson this morning.
Speaker 5 (07:48):
We have to, all right, if he if he's if
he's still with us.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
High, Okay, then we get another Oh this one's about you, Ryan.
It says he's a good or bad it's good who
you should date? And Mary all right half Italian twenty
seven and a half years old. It says works at
usc kech.
Speaker 2 (08:11):

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Need to call her? She is this woman's daughter and
I've got the phone.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
So wait.
Speaker 5 (08:19):
The mom wrote a letter about her daughter trying to
date me. Can I see Sherry's photo?
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Her name is Sherry. Yeah, Yanni.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
They look like the fun family. We put their Christmas
card out.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Oh they're skiing.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
This could be right for you, Ryan.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
They went to the doctor bread. I'm seeing that photo.
This looks oh they look.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
We have a lot of calls to make this morning.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
Okay, all right, Hey, that's Ryan.
Speaker 7 (08:42):

Speaker 1 (08:52):
And I hope that you stay with us after the
Christmas music goes away.
Speaker 13 (08:55):
Oh I do, I do, But I just love this
time of the year. Okay, happy, how do you guys?
Speaker 7 (09:00):
Coast one o three point five?
Speaker 1 (09:03):
But here in the settlement today, we're gonna have Santa
Anna winds so warm wines. Unfortunately more fuel for the fire,
the Franklin fire in Malibuu, so eighteen hundred acres. We've
got our eyes on the pulse and our ears, so
(09:24):
we'll keep you posted. You're live in around that area too,
give us a call list, know how you're doing. And
we also have your happiness hacks forty life.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
I'd like to go around the room and pull three
of you. Llen k Social Queen Darlene, producer Mike Romos.
What on a scale of one to ten, how spicy
do you go? Ten being the spicy?
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Okay, I will I could go up to probably an eight, really,
I think so.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Yeah, I enjoy a seven and a half, but I
will go to an eight. I don't like going beyond. Yeah,
like it steems my mouth.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Yeah, I'm going all the way. I'm going to ten.
Are Yeah, I love it. This is easy. The on
hot wings, he would go, I've done it.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
This is why he has stomach issues.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
I'm like, A, I don't know that he wanted you
to tell Hi, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but now you
know my stomach issues all.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Right, So yeah, I'm like more like a four.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
Okay, Yeah, I can't anything anything even remotely touching five?
Speaker 2 (10:20):
Is I just coil died? Okay?
Speaker 5 (10:24):
So what would you do to get rid of a
spicy mouth? A lot of us think, oh, let me
just reach for a glass of water. We've all heard
drink milk.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Wrong, No, no, I mean milk.
Speaker 5 (10:32):
Milk works, cheese kind of anything in that dairy family
helps a little ranch dressing ones.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
See in that family.
Speaker 5 (10:39):
Yeah, but you guys, three competitive eaters just revealed their
number one secret when they have to eat the hottest
hot food peanut butter. Peanut butter, peanut butter, spoonful of
peanut butter. So if you're going to like holiday parties
and you know someone's making some spicy tamalies or something
and it's not doing it, just grab that peanut butter.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
That's crazy. It just puts out the puts out there.
Speaker 5 (11:01):
I wonder, well, that's an excuse for you to recess.
Speaker 7 (11:07):
It's the L and K Morning Show.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
You guys, give up thirsty for more?
Speaker 7 (11:13):
Marry Christmas Coast one three point five Top Stories.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Top of the Hour, Good Morning of ellen k all Right,
Franklin fire and it's our top story, breaking late last
night in Malibu, already claiming nearly two thousand acres zero containment,
six thousand homes now under mandatory evacuation orders. The blaze
started just north the pH but jumped Malibu Canyon Road
and quickly spread southwest toward the pier. One of the
(11:39):
problems is these tall palm trees create embers that carry
long distances. All schools closed, Santa Monica, Malibu, USD all
closed today. One reporter we've spoken with says she's never
seen so many fire trucks on the site of any fire.
And the latest on the now charged suspect and the
killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. This after a
(11:59):
nationwide man hunt, twenty six year old Luigi Mandioni was
apprehended by police. He is in custody jail without bail.
Authority say Luigi was in possession of a ghost gun
similar to the one used in the killing. Oh and this.
Speaker 14 (12:12):
Additionally, officers recovered a handwritten document that speaks to both
his motivation and mindset.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
So what was written in the manifesto? Here's Detective Joseph Kenney.
Speaker 15 (12:23):
That document is currently in the possession of the Ottuna
Police Department as part of their investigation, but just from
briefly speaking with them, we don't think that there's any
specific threats to other people mentioned in that document, but
it does seem that he has some ill will toward
Corporate America.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
Manngioni graduated in twenty sixteen from a private college in Pennsylvania,
the Gillman School, whose president released a statement calling the
situation deeply disturbing. We've also learned Luigia as several ties
to California. Until last year, he worked for the Santa
Monica based truecr and in twenty nineteen he was a
head counselor for a summer program at Stanford University. Meanwhile,
funeral services for CEO Brian Thompson were held yesterday at
(13:00):
the same time all of this news began breaking, and
the TSA could unwrap your presence When you go through
a security checkpoint before your flight, TSA agents are asking
us to pass it along to you. They'll be forced
to unwrap any packages that trigger and alarm. They advise
passengers not to wrap gifts prior to flights. TSA recommends
just wait to wrap the gifts after you've already gone
(13:21):
through the checkpoint, or when you get to your destination.
Whippin wins In the weather story today we got those

(14:18):
Santa Ana wins, they weren't. The warning wasn't even going
to start until tennam. That's when the winds are going
to really kick in, so we're going to keep you
up to the minute on the Franklin fire.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
One thing I did here this morning, our friend Henry
de Carlo at KTLA. He was saying, the good thing
about what's happening right now is that the winds are
they're blowing up, They're not right now as we speak,
they're not going side to side.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
So this is kind of a good thing. Hopefully, they said.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
The palm tree embers lie a long way, and then
that's the spread.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
Putting good thoughts out. We need this fire safe because
our very own Alfonso was going to go to Camp
News this weekend, which you would love, Ryan. It's a
news camp for aspiring news reporters and ancher Yeah, and
everyone in the industry goes and volunteers their time to
train students. And he was going to that this weekend
and it's at Pepperdine and I really want him to
(15:08):
do this.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Well, hopefully they'll postponey. All right, we got a letter.

Why you should date and marry my daughter half Italian
twenty seven and a half year old cardiac nurse usc Kech.

Speaker 2 (16:09):

Well, you're a federal offen, Yolani.
Speaker 16 (16:16):
You have different thoughts, right, So I think.
Speaker 11 (16:19):
My suggestion is that we, the listeners and the ladies
in the studio help you find your next your next relationship,

Speaker 1 (22:23):
Top stories here at the top of the hour. Good
morning of ellen K twenty two hundred plus acres and
that is the Franklin fire. Our top story today. A
lot of Pepperdine students asking to just hold just shelter
in place, and we cut up with one of them.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
Okay, it's something I've never seen before, so it's a
little interesting, but you know, it's concerning. I care about
the community at the same time, but I'm fortunate that
I got my finals out of the way, so I
don't have to worry about that. But yeah, I just
wish them the best for these people and their houses
and their families for.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Sure, Yeah, for sure. More than six thousand homes are
now under mandatory evacuation orders. Let's go to Michael Monks
from our sister station KFI. You were there. You are
in the middle of everything. What are you experiencing.
Speaker 16 (23:08):
I am hearing a lot of helicopters, I'm hearing a
lot of sirens, and then I'm hearing from people that,
you know, this is something that they've learned to deal with.
It looked like a lot of folks heeded the warning.
So that's the good news. So we're hoping not to
hear about any loss of life in this. And I
know that there are folks who are very concerned about
the loss of their own property and they're waiting for
(23:30):
some updates on that. But right now, it does seem
as if the spread of the fire has slowed a
little bit compared to how rapidly it was increasing. But
now the latest update is twenty two hundred, all these
hours later. You don't want any acreage burning, of course,
or any spread to continue, but it does seem that
that's spread has slowed dramatically now that it's daylight and
(23:54):
they can attack that fire from the air.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
Oh my gosh, well, you'd be safe, Michael. And we
we've been thinking about you. We know that you're are
boots on the ground.
Speaker 16 (24:04):
Boots on the ground, indeed, And I'll keep an eye
on it and we'll check in with you anytime you
need an update, all right.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
And also Merriam Webster has announced polarization as the twenty
twenty four word of the year. Polarization division very specific
kind though. It means that we're tending toward the extremes
rather than toward the center. And did you know blowing
your nose wrong can make your cold worse? So this
is trending cnended a story. According to an ear, nose
and throat doctor, forceful or excessive nose blowing can cause
(24:33):
a backward pressure that pushes everything back into your sinuses.
So excessive nose blowing can also damage your blood vessels
and cause noes, bleeds, sinus infections, and headaches. And a
rare case is a ruptured ear jump. So be really
careful about the way you blow. There is a right
way to blow your nose and whip and winds are
the weather story today that red flag warning holding strong.
(24:54):
The real fire danger everywhere with fifty mile per hour. Gus,
we get seventy for the high and Pomona Pico Rivera
to seventy five today and it is fifty here in Burbank.
We run on Celsia's Energy drinks. It's KOST Los Angeles
Coast one of three point five and coming up. We
want to make it your greatest Christmas ever, one thousand
dollars for you.
Speaker 7 (25:15):

to say how great everyone is there. That makes Llen
k Show on Coast the best station in the US
to listen to.
Speaker 7 (25:30):
Coast one oh three point five.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Tell us what's going on.
Speaker 6 (25:41):
My son is four years old. He was diagnosed with
autism at age of two, and he was nonverbal for
for a very long time. He's four and a half.
He's he'll be his birthday December twenty nine. He's starting
to say somewhere, and we've been doing therapy forever and
(26:02):
today we're actually driving to his award ceremony.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
Oh, he's waiting an award.
Speaker 19 (26:10):
I never thought this day would come, or that he
would start attempting to say words. So I'm just so
thankful to his teacher, Miss Melanie at Lockhurst, Madison at McCrory,
and all this wonderful therapists. It's such a beautiful warning
for us.
Speaker 13 (26:30):
HM.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
That's so great. Oh, congratulations, thank you so much. It's
your holiday miracle.
Speaker 12 (26:39):
It is.
Speaker 17 (26:39):
It's been a very hard year for us, so to
end the year on a good note, and like every
year his birthday, I cry because I'm like, are we
making progress? And those who are listening right now, I
just want them to know that you are making progress
and it's just one step at a time.
Speaker 19 (26:58):
It's a journey.
Speaker 17 (27:00):
Tony as a.
Speaker 19 (27:00):
Journey, and just don't lose the hope even on days
when you feel like you're going to.
Speaker 1 (27:06):
You know, Darlene has a daughter who is nonverbal, Bella,
and Bella's found wonderful ways to communicate.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
And I just want to give you a big mommy
hug because I know the journey can lead you to
so many different feelings, but this is the feeling that
I hope you get to live off of for a
while and until the next hurdle.
Speaker 6 (27:30):
You know.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Yes, I just want to share that Bella is seventeen
now and just like you said, every year on her birthday,
you go through these feelings. Am I doing enough? And
here's what I've learned so far. Embrace your case and
just keep running one foot, one thing in front of
the other, one foot in front of the other.
Speaker 19 (27:48):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 17 (27:49):
And it really helps hearing from children who are older,
parents who have children who are older, because it just
gives me the hope having a four.
Speaker 6 (27:59):
And a half year old of like, Okay, I could
just keep doing this.
Speaker 13 (28:02):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
We will do anything for our kids.
Speaker 6 (28:06):
Of court anything.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
Happy holidays.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
Congrats on your award. The whole family wins.
Speaker 19 (28:16):

Speaker 1 (30:34):
It is one firecracker Branda Lee. What do they call her?
Speaker 5 (30:36):
Little miss Dynamite? Fun fact too, Her dad was a
tremendous picture. He was in the Army and they had
a baseball team. Okay, and he was like the left
handed stud of the Army baseball team.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Oh way, yeah, Branda Lee.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
Yeah, Daddy Lee was a was a beast.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
That's that's awesome. And we're your official holiday music stations.
Coast one O three point five. All right, let's go
to TSH. Mishelle. You say maybe on the naughty list
you want to confess something. What happened?
Speaker 12 (31:07):
Well, I was at Target actually and my kids. One
of their friends seeing me and my kids got upset
because I didn't take them to Target because typically we
go to Target like four times a week. And so
she had told me that one of her friends said
that they seen your mom at Target.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Without them and what happened then?
Speaker 12 (31:31):
So then I had to take them a target myself. Yes,
I've been taking them a Target since they were like babies.
I have two daughters, so Target is hold like a
vibe for us. So yeah, they were pretty upset.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Oh no, how did they punish you? Their mother?
Speaker 12 (31:47):
I just had to bite them something. So we walked
Target and got some Starbucks.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Okay, all right, now everything's peaceful.
Speaker 12 (31:54):
Yes, everything's peaceful. So I should be off the naughty list.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
All right, closet call.
Speaker 12 (32:01):
You never know who's watching exactly exactly. Yep, that's true.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
Santa always sees you exactly.
Speaker 12 (32:10):
Well, I should be up. The naughty list is here,
hopefully thanks to shell Kill.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
Yeah, thirsty for more cool?
Speaker 2 (32:22):
Oh Marry Christmas.
Speaker 7 (32:25):
Coast one oh three point five Top Stories Top of
the Hour.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
I'm Ellen k and Governor Newsom has secured federal assistance
for everything happening with the Franklin fire. Our top story. Today,
twenty two hundred plus acres have burned. More than six
thousand homes are now under mandatory evacuation orders. All schools
are closed in and around the area from Santa Monica
to Malibu. All USD schools. Animals are being evacuated to
(32:52):
Pierce College, and one Malibu resident ignored warnings to evacuate.
Speaker 13 (32:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
I mean, the thing about life is you can be
a victim. That's how you make something happen.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
So I stay until until I have to leave, and
it never got to a point where we had to leave.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
We have high powered water hoses and we made happen,
all right.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
He says he saved one hundred million dollars worth of
real estate. Okay, And the latest on they now charge
something the killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson after
that nationwide manhunt. As you know, twenty six year old
Luigi Manngion who is in jail without bail. He was
in possession of a ghost gun similar to the one
used in the killing when he was arrested Adam McDonald's
(33:37):
in Altuna, Pennsylvania. When an officer approached him, he started
shaking when asked, have you been in New York lately,
but what else was he in possession of.
Speaker 14 (33:46):
Additionally, officers recovered a handwritten document that speaks to both
his motivation and mindset.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
That's NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tish, and inside that manifesto were
now some of his words. He said to the Feds,
I'll keep this short because I do respect what you
do for our country. To save you a lengthy investigation,
I state plainly that I wasn't working with anyone. He
went on to say, I do apologize for any strife
or traumas, but it had to be done. Frankly, these
(34:14):
parasites had a coming. Those are the words of CEO
murder defendant Luigi Mangione, and more information coming out all
morning long, and hey, with just week slept in twenty
twenty four, the data is in. This has officially been
our hottest year planetarily speaking, in the recorded history of Earth.
We're logging a full three degrees warmer than pre industrial levels.
(34:35):
Seven of our months so far this year have eclipsed
their own records. And if this sounds like a broken
record or repeat, it's not. We are beating last year
for the hottest ever ever ever, and Whip and Wins
are the weather alert today, red flag warning in effect.
We may have some fifty mil per hour guests right now.
It's already sixty in Burbank and we run on Celsa's
(34:55):
energy drinks. It's KOST Los Angeles Coast one of three
point five. Backs to Lego Land are coming up. Keep

Speaker 18 (35:32):

to have everybody put everybody to have a calm, peaceful
and I guess in the moment Christmas, because we all
seem to be rushed, we all seem to be going
to places, we all seem to worry about the gifts
and everything else. But I think it's just about being
