a way that you have never heard before that will
blow your mind. Next time you have a headache, huh
and you can't get it out of your head, put
your hands in warm water. Just just a sink of
warm water, because the warm water pulls the blood from
your head down to the extremity's warm water. Aay conducts

(09:27):
blood to go to the warmth, and it leaves your head,
leaving you love that headache free.

Speaker 2 (09:32):

(10:01):
Mega neighborhood taking shape in the Desert.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
I'll tell you all about that.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Also, millions of fans could lose access to both NFL
and college football thanks to a big dispute between Disney
and Direct TV. So more details on that coming up next.
It's Coast one of three point five your top story
Top of the Hour, Good morning of Mellen k and
Disney's new mega neighborhood has taken shape in the Desert

(10:26):
Coachella Valley is dubbed Cootino and it's a master planning community,
the first of the Entertainment Giants' story living projects designed
for home buyers who want to bring Disney deeper into.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Their everyday lives.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
And what about this absolutely showed time last night that
there were being the Dodgers picking up a win over
the Orioles, but that was almost secondary to the excitement
over the golden Otani bobbleheads. The night started with Decoy Otani,
his dog Shows dog, becoming the first pup to throw
out a first pitch. He picked up the ball in
the mound and ran it to his human at home.

Speaker 10 (10:57):
And moments ago, the first dog ever to throw out
a first skips.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
It was pretty darn impressive.

Speaker 6 (11:02):
Actually, shore Hey goes behind home play.

Speaker 8 (11:04):

Little treat, little reward, Nice, adorable.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
You can see them up in our socials Coast one
of three five dot com or official own k same
teams tonight at seven ten all right with a Disney and.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
DirecTV Currently in a huge dispute.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Millions of fans are now at thread of losing access
to both the NFL and college football. College football kicking
off tonight and one week until NFL season kickoff. If
a deal does not get done by September, first, eleven
million subscribers will lose ESPN. And what about this TSA
catching heat for tweeting peanut butter is a liquid. The
level of anger those five words have stoked is amazing.

(11:46):
The TSA went viral after tweeting that peanut butter is
a liquid. It's been viewed more than twenty million times
in the past few days. The post said, quote, peanut
butter is a liquid. We said what we said. They
really do classify it as a liquid. If you want
to carry peanut butter on a play and if you're
traveling this Labor Day weekend, it has to be three
point four ounces or less. Some nerdy internet sluice pointed

(12:06):
out that technically peanut butter is not a liquid, it
is a non Newtonian fluid.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Did not know that. Thank you for that. And just
in time for Labor Day, the new express lanes on
the tenor now open.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Fancy new lanes run ten miles from Edwanda to just
east of the fifteen, two of them in each direction.
Officiill say that the ten seas nearly three hundred thousand
drivers every day. Maybe you're on it right now. These
express lanes will help ease congestion. So happy travels, and
let's start with the good news. Today is going to
be our coolest for the next seven eighty five. For
you're high, then next week we're warming a backup. The

(12:39):

Speaker 10 (12:58):
This is allan Yeah, you got to the bet my Morning.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Post one O three point five. All right, Well that
song is called Unwritten.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
And we're still getting calls about your letters to Ellen
where Claudie wrote us a letter and she wrote all
about what's happening in her relationship. It's a secret journal
that her husband read and in it she describes scenarios
with men they both know. Said it was just creative writing.
He's upset. More of your comments coming up. Plus, we're

(13:31):
gonna send you to C Pink Dodger Stadium. That's your
Ellen KQ and A.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
You just said.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Happy birthday to you if you are celebrating today. So
is Michael Jackson. It would have been his birthday today.
Well it is his birthday. He would have been sixty six,
and he is your llen k one Kkida song of
the day, Michael Jackson beat it so plays.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
Between eight and nine.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Be listening for Michael Jackson to win yourself one thousand dollars.
We got a letter to Ellen and we're still getting
tons of calls and comments. Tim wrote us an email.
The woman with the journal, she's Claudine. Her husband found
and read her private journal, and in it there were
some stories about some men they both know, and these

(14:15):
were those intimate thoughts and creative writing. So she said
they're in a world of hurt and she wants them
to know it's fiction. So Tim wrote to us and said,
from my experience, some part of her wanted it to
be found by using real names. It's a little deeper
than what is on the surface. Next time your therapist

(14:35):
Sarah is on air, bring the topic up.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
It's pretty fascinating people will do that.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
It's a therapy Thursday. Be here in about an hour.
Let's go to Andy. So, Andy, you have your thoughts.

Speaker 11 (14:47):
Also, I have two thoughts.

Speaker 6 (14:50):
My first one is how do we know that she's
not writing about acts that have already occurred?

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Oh wow?

Speaker 6 (14:57):
And secondly, somebody and I think it was Ryan, made
a comment about this wouldn't be a big deal if
we were commenting about Selma Hyak or somebody like that. Well,
those are almost impossibilities. And so you know that that
poses a problem because if it's an employee or an

(15:18):
employer an employee, these are things that could actually happen.
And I think that Selma Hyak isn't going to be
calling me anytime soon. But if I had a friend,
my wife's friend comes over, So that was creating a
trust issue. Now do they now have that person over

(15:39):
for dinner or if they've ever had, you know, things
like that together, how do you how do you now
you're gonna look at that person? Totally different? Now, her
journal clearly thinks these are it's not things that have
happened and she's writing about them.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Or do we know that she loves her claim?

Speaker 1 (15:53):
That's her claim is that this is how she gets
out her creativity.

Speaker 8 (15:58):
Two things can be true at once. Here his feelings
can be hurt and she didn't cheat.

Speaker 6 (16:02):
Okay, I mean because my feeling, my feelings would be
hurt and I'd have a trust issue going forward.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
I'm with you. Oh thank you, Yeah, Andy, thank you.

Speaker 8 (16:13):
You put a bow on it. That was that was
well said Andy, way to go.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Oh boy? All right? So uh Claudine writing that letter.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
It's posted up at coast one of three five FM
on Instagram if you want to see the letter for
yourself and hit us with some comments. Coming up, we're
going to go inside entertainment. So much going on. We

So New Heights podcast has been bought for one hundred
million dollars Jason and Travis Kelsey and they're big rumors
that Taylor Swift was going to be their first guest
with this new company. Wondery who bought them, but it
was actually Adam Sandler. But Swifty Sluice noticed in the
background of the podcast, a cat me out.

Speaker 2 (17:12):

Speaker 8 (19:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Ryan had an appearance last night.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
And you know when you do that, you were at
a movie theater, at a movie and you didn't stay
for the whole movie. But you know, that's like a
late night. Eight eight pm is a late night for us.

Speaker 7 (19:25):
Eight that's practically midnight. Yeah, but I'm feeling good. I

Speaker 2 (19:33):
What's your guests?

Speaker 10 (19:34):
I'm going to say dating within the friend circle. I
think sometimes it just doesn't work out, and maybe we
give it an attempt and then we just realize after
some time, Hey, it's just not working out.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
That's a really good guess. That's a really common thing too.
It's not the right answer.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
So sorry, that's okay.

Speaker 7 (19:54):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 10 (19:54):

four day weekend. Students and teachers here in LUSB.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
Well, enjoy your weekend ahead. What is your guest? So
ten percent of breakups happen because of what.

Speaker 13 (20:32):
My guest is, couples have like different NFL teams and
that can cause a division and a breakup.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Yep, one week until NFL season kickoff and the answer
is different NFL teams specifically.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
That you are, right, Nancy.

Speaker 13 (20:49):
Oh my goodness, thank you so much. I'm happy.

Speaker 5 (20:55):

I listened to you every morning.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Well, thank you for that way to go.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Ten percent of breakups happened because the couple doesn't have
the same NFL team as different teams.

Speaker 8 (21:14):
I get it.

Speaker 7 (21:15):
Cubs are in my If someone came up to me

Speaker 2 (21:20):
And there's a reason why my ex is a Raider fan.
Say well, I have to live with everything, Saints all

Speaker 10 (21:34):

Speaker 5 (21:35):
We listened to you every morning on our we to
school every day religiously.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
We implore you.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
Thank you Post one three point five, and it is.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
Post on three point five, Top Stories, Top of the Hour,
Good morning of ellen k. The Bob's Big Boy statue
outside the Downy location is a slightly less big Boy
this morning. His head was taken off in a wild
crash happen at two am on Firestone Boulevard when a
single vehicle lost control and slammed into the statue, shearing

(22:06):
off its noggin. Thankfully, that driver sustained only minor injuries.
Fun fact Bob's Big Boy. That character is based on
a real kid named Richard Woodruff, who, at six years old,
loved showing up at the original Glendale location. Then called
Bob's pantry and asked to do chores in exchange for burgers.
Bob the owner lovingly called him big Boy. The rest

(22:27):
is history, and those Golden Show Hey and Decoy bobbleheads
that were given out at last night's game are selling
on eBay. For some big Bucks. There was no clear
window on any of the boxes. So when you walk through,
if you were lucky enough to get when you didn't
know if it was the regular white jersey show hey,
or the golden bobblehead. But those bobbleheads the golden selling

(22:48):
on eBay, wee one hundred and ninety five people watching
an auction for twenty thousand dollars. That's the latest price.
We'll keep sharing that with you. That is astounding and
Bark Air launched today. It's first ever airline catered to dogs.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
It took off this morning from New York. It will
land here in a few hours in LA.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
A domestic flight costs six thousand dollars a ticket, and
international tickets costs about eight thousand. The company will offer
white paw service with earmuffs and treats.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
For its puffs. And what about this, it's a feel good.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
British sprinter John McFall, who lost his right leg in
a motorcycle accident when he was nineteen, won a bronze
medal at the two thousand and eight Paralympics. He is
now an astronaut in training who hopes to become the
first disabled person to go to space. The Paralympics kick
it off in Paris just yesterday, and let's start.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
With the good news.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Today's going to be our coolest of the next eighty
five four year high next week back up and over
terms up one hundred and three.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
That heat is roaring.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
Back right now. It is seventy in Burbank and we
run on Celsia's energy drinks. It's kost Los Angeles Coast
one to three point five. Someone's going to win one
thousand dollars this hour, Michael Jackson, beat it. That's your song.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
To listen to it?

Speaker 4 (24:04):
All right.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
We are here on therapy Thursday with our therapist Sarah
Dash and Sarah Melody has something she really needs help with.
Melody say hi to Sarah.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
Hi, Sarah, Hi, Melody, It's nice to meet you.

Speaker 12 (24:19):
So how can I address a one sided friendship? Or
my friend always makes everything about herself. I value our friendship,
but I just don't want to end it. But I'm
struggling to handle all the imbalance. I don't know how
to navigate the situation in a healthy way.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
Can you give me an example?

Speaker 12 (24:36):
She always just kind of talks about her problems and
her life and every time I bring up my life,
it doesn't seem like she cares, and I just don't
know how to go about it in a healthy way.

Speaker 14 (24:49):
Well, I mean, there are people who can make us
feel like an audience when we're speaking and it's not
a dialogue, it's a monologue.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
Did she ever ask you how you are? Melody like?

Speaker 12 (25:04):
Sometimes? But it just kind of seems like she's asking
it to be like polite, but she doesn't really want to, like,
actually hear about it?

Speaker 8 (25:12):
Yeah, Sarah, would you? Would you in your just briefly
hearing this is this narcissism?

Speaker 7 (25:17):
Like?

Speaker 8 (25:17):
What is what is this?

Speaker 14 (25:19):
I think it can definitely be narcissism. There's something called
a covert narcissist, and they don't present like what we
think of a typical narcissist, grandiose, you know, bragging, inflated ego.
It's more of somebody who sucks, sucks to the air sucks.

(25:50):
This is somebody who sucks the air out of the room.
In terms of kind of taking all the attention about
a problem. They present as sympathetic, but when you look
at it a little more closely, you realize that it's
about a lot more than just having empathy and compassion.

(26:10):
It's about having attention, the full attention of anyone who's
in their presence.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
I wonder if that is something that like a person
who's grown up with that their whole life, like right,
center of attention, center of attention.

Speaker 7 (26:25):
And probably given the attention too. Maybe for mom and dad,
like you know, they keep craving it throughout their life.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
Right.

Speaker 14 (26:32):
I think the first step would be to withdraw. You
give her the opposite of what she's seeking. When this happens,
she's likely going to escalate her behavior. So it's going
to require you to be pretty steadfast in the dialing back,
and I think that's really the best way to alter

(26:54):
her behavior.

Speaker 12 (26:55):
Okay, that makes sense. Kind of just show her that,
like I'm here.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Yeah, you're the boss. Let us know, Melody, let's know
how it works out.

Speaker 12 (27:05):
Good luck, Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
Thank you. A one sided friendship for Melody. I think
that's good advice.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
You know, just they're looking for your attention, you're giving
it to him, so just I guess it would be
like a lightly dusted ghosting.

Speaker 8 (27:21):
Yeah, good call.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
All right, if you have a one sided friendship, you
can give us a call. Eight hundred ninet two nine

k paide song of the day, and we're also going

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Sometime? Only sometime sometimes I want to sneak into places.

Speaker 12 (27:57):
And not have any hoopla.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
Or you know, and uh, and it doesn't work all
the time because people are starting to crowd around it,
which is sweet. I mean, I shouldn't complain never, all right,
Jackson Coast for a few five. Hi, good morning, you

(28:19):
just won one thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
No way, yes you did?

Speaker 3 (28:27):

We're the only K Morning show. It's a therapy Thursday.
Sarah dash is our licensed therapist. She comes in to
tackle your troubles, and today it was all about covert narcissism.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
Now that is when you.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Might have a friend in your life or someone in
your life who never asks you how you're doing.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
It's always about them.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
So that she was saying, you know, when you're with
that person, it's not a dialogue, it's a monologue.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
So they're just they wo you.

Speaker 8 (30:52):
They want you to be the audience. Yes, and you
can always tell too.

Speaker 7 (30:54):
Sometimes even when they do ask how are you, it's
like they're just like goldfish off to the next like
they don't care what you're saying.

Speaker 8 (31:00):
It's just they do it out of.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
Formality, right, And I feel like, hum, would you say, yeah,
she'd do a quiz, well, how did you?

Speaker 2 (31:08):
How did what? Did you just hear me say? Yeah?

Speaker 11 (31:10):
Right?

Speaker 2 (31:11):
Anyway?

Speaker 1 (31:11):
How do you handle it when it's a one sided
narcissistic friendship, Diana, how do you handle it?

Speaker 2 (31:21):
Well?

Speaker 11 (31:21):
I mean, there are a couple of different things I
thought of. It kind of really depends on the friendship.
But one is that I feel like it was a
really good friend and I feel like they would understand
if I talk to them and told them how I
feel about what's been going on, you know, about the friendship.
And then another would be, you know, sometimes creating some
distance my help that person understand like, oh, like they've

(31:44):
been doing a lot of the sharing and talking and
not really checking in with, you know, with me as
a friend. And then the other one I would say is,
you know, I use this with like my preschool preschool kids,
but sometimes like changing the subjects. So then that way
you're also sharing the airtime with other person and that
they realize that, you know, maybe they're like talking a
lot or just like listening as well.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Redirect the energy.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
You see, you learn so much from like we can
learn so much from preschoolers.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Absolutely, it always works. I'm sure.

Speaker 5 (32:18):
Yes, great advice.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Thank you so much, Diana.

Speaker 12 (32:23):
You're welcome.

Speaker 11 (32:23):
Thank you, Ellen k I love listening.

Speaker 12 (32:25):
To you in the morning.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
I'm we love you being there. One sided friendships.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
I'm a covert narcissist learning new words today. Wow, and
it is coast one of three point five top stories
top for the hour. Good morning, em El and k
And we're getting closer to the October tip off of
the NBA season. Lebron James is announced he's starring in
a new Netflix docu series called Starting Five, similar to

(32:49):
NFL's Hard Knocks on HBO, fans getting behind the scenes
look at the daily lives of five of the league's
best players. Interesting note the executive producers are Lebron, along
with Brocco and Peyton Manning. The Lakers open the regular
season October twenty second at Crypto, King, James says when
he finally takes the court with his son BRONI calling
him Dad is just not an option.

that down. I can now call me Dad in the workplace.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
If we ride together at home, I could be dead.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
All right.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
We are clear, and wrecking is the latest walking trend
that you need to try. Wrecking is simply walking around
with the weights on your body weight on your back. Technically,
like regular walking, rucking is an accessible exercise. All you
have to do is put on a weighted backpack or
rucksack and start moving. It's based on military training. I've
seen a lot of people rucking in Runyan Canyon. Actually

(33:49):
a wrecking ads. Resistance training to your walk has a
host of other fitness benefits too. It's a good thing
for someone who's looking to work their body in a
new way. That's resistance training on not really really trying.
