Speaker 1 (00:00):
Joining us now a FUTUREI ist Kevin Sirelli. I always
like talking with Kevin because he's he's got his eyes
on things that are really cool going on out there,
that are in the future for us, that are going
to be here before we know it. Now, the future
sounds like maybe to you and I years down the road,
but Kevin realizes, no, this is like two days from now. Kevin,
welcome in, Thanks for being back.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
With me, Thanks for having me. Appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
So I remember talking to a guy about investing in
this whole thing with you know, AI in video and
what they're doing, the big company. But he said, now,
hold on, if you're going to invest money, don't do
it in AI. Invested in the electrical companies that have
to provide the electrical grid to power these things, because

(00:42):
right now the infrastructure is not there to move AI
along as fast as it's moving itself right now, so
it's going to slow down until we get the electricity
to power them. So what's going on.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Here, Well, it's a great point because you know, we've
got all of this AI and harnessing the power of
it for the future, and America invented AI. This is
a matter of national pride with innovation, but we risk
losing our ground to China, and unless we can continue
to implement the artificial intelligence and they run on data centers. Now,

(01:15):
there are some very real concerns about making sure that
Americans electric electricity bills don't rise as we implement this.
But to your point, we've got the technology, but we're
trying to run in on an antiquated power system, and
the power grid system in some parts of the country
just isn't equipped for it. So I use the comparison

(01:37):
this way, right, which is back one hundred years ago,
not that long ago, when America was starting to embrace
the automobile. There were actually protests in the streets of
people who didn't want cars. They wanted America to stick
with horses. They were nervous about safety, they were nervous
about what it would do to people in the horse

(01:57):
industry and putting them out of business. But America not
only created the auto industry, but it think of all
of what it did for highways in our country and
paving an infrastructure for the future. All of that happened
within the last one hundred years. The analogy that I'm
trying to make is that AI, yes, is going to

(02:17):
dramatically shift our country. But it's the start of the
Second Industrial Revolution. Data centers are highways of the future.
We need them. If we don't have them, then where
we live is going to be left behind.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Well, with that said, yeah, you can't fight progress. You know,
you're going to get left at the train station. So
you got to jump on board with it. It's moving
with or without you. But there are problems with it.
With cars, came bad accidents that kill people. With computers,
you know, in the internet, comes to creeps that are
going to come after your kids because they're just weirdos.
And now with AI, it's potentially going to be able

(02:53):
to get out of control where we really uh oh,
what have we created here? Elon Musk warned us about
this when it first started, and you better get a
handle on this before it gets way out of control.
So now with the AI situation, there's great application for it.
There's also some you know, nervous application. Let's talk about
AI driven surveillance and deep fake deception. The world's oldest

(03:14):
profession now getting a software update here. So what does
it mean with these algorithms when it comes to the
world of espionage.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Yeah, so I just did an interview with doctor Anthony Vinci.
He's got a great new book out called The Fourth
Intelligence Revolution. He's the first Chief Technology Officer of the
National Geospatial Agency and he's been deployed and iraqed in
other parts of the world as an intelligence officer that
he talks openly about. And what he essentially has written
in this book is that America's spy systems and surveillance

(03:46):
systems and think of it as AI, like private AI
llms or you know, a government source of Chatchipet for example.
These systems are going to be independent and spying on
the Chinese systems and it could potentially lead to hot wars.
So the cyberspace is going to have multiple systems interacting

(04:09):
with each other, spying on each other, having reactions to
one another, and humans might not even be aware of it.
It is really akin to essentially in the future, they're
being drone wars without humans even pressing a button, but
the triggers of the systems causing there to be a
hot conflict. That is what the military and the espionage

(04:32):
world is preparing for, according to this book.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Yeah, nobody said the terminator could ever happen here we go.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Yeah, exactly, Kevin.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
I sure to appreciate you, buddy. I'd love to Chad more.
Lots to talk about in this world, and we'll have
you back for sure. Have a great weekend.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
