Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jonathan Savage joins US Now our Fox correspondent in London
on a couple of stories. Why don't we start with
Iran in the US and the discussions on the nuclear situation.
What's going on here? Apparently Iran's not happy with this deal.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Yeah, there have been five rounds of talks between the
Iranian foreign minister and President Trump's Middle East envoy, and
the result of these rounds of talks, a proposal from
the US was handed to Iran at the weekend, But
Reuter said it's been told by an unnamed Iranian diplomat,
so the US proposal is eight non starter, the diplomat
saying that Iran is drafting a negative response, which could

(00:36):
be interpreted as our rejection. As a reminder, Iran says
it wants nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. Western powers accuse
Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons and point to
just how much enriched uranium Iran has developed to just
a skip away from weapons grade level.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Well, I got to tell you, we do not want
Iran having nuclear weapons. That's clear. Our allies don't want this.
Nobody wants this, but Iran. So where are we as
far as the next set of negotiations, any discussion from
allies jumping in on all this.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Well, first of all, it's likely that there will be
another set of negotiations where Iran formally responds. It looks
like the obstacles are that the US is demanding that
Iran permanently scrap any uranium enrichment and ship abroad its
entire stock file of highly enriched uranium. Also, Iran wants

(01:31):
all the sanctions lifted immediately, and we're told that this
proposal doesn't have them lifted quite so quickly. In terms
of the international community, well, you know, everyone, like you say,
is hoping that Iran never develops a nuclear weapon, not
least Israel, which has threatened to target Iran's facilities, and

(01:53):
the target Iran's military facilities. President Trump has managed to
persuade Benjamin Nittanyatu to hold.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Off on that for nat Yeah, negotiations with Iran seem
to have been going on now for decades, and it's
never going in the right direction. You can't trust them whatsoever.
And it's such a volatile situation in that region of
the world right now, so always seem to be walking
on thin ice and eggshells in this discussion with Iran,
so hopefully in praying that yeah, they never end up

(02:19):
with these nuclear weapons switching gears. Let's talk about these
foreign nationals have now been charged here in the United
States for their role in this big scheme to smuggle
US military equipment, including missiles, into China. And apparently one
guy Cu Gwan I can't pronounce the name. He's forty
three from China, and a guy named John Miller, sixty
three from the United Kingdom now have been charged here.

(02:40):
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Yeah, mister Miller is also a permanent US resident, but
he is a British national. Yeah, this is extraordinary. They
would appear to be a very active Chinese spies according
to these charges. Yeah, allegedly trying to pass sensitive amor
military technology to China, including missiles. How you go around

(03:05):
doing that is absolutely fascinating. Also, it appears as though
they are being accused of harassing anti Chinese government protesters.
One person had a tracking device installed on their car
and had their tires blashed. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche

(03:25):
says the pair guilty of a blatant assault on US
national security and its democratic values. They could receive decades
in prison is found.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Guilty one hundred percent. And this is all in the
president's efforts to crack down on people coming into this
country and vetting them much better than we have in
most recent years. So yeah, scary situation. They're right under
our nose here. We know that in this country, and
Chinese are buying up land near our military bases in
all types of situations where they infiltrate into our systems

(04:00):
here in the United States, right here in our own country. Jonathan,
thank you for the update. I appreciate it.
