are we gonna I don't know ifAmerica is going to survive. This country
is whacked out right now. Everything. But yeah, look at the state
(00:31):
of the country, because this countryis is whacked out right now. This
is insanity. These people are insanein the membrane. Yes they are.
(00:54):
They're insane in the membrane. I'veseen a lot of it today. Tell
you what's days the membrane. Justwonder how long the membrane is gonna be
able to put up with this kindof punishment. I need some ointment,

We've been following this national story ofthe inmate that was escaped up in was
a Pennsylvania and they finally caught theguy. Well now here on the local
level in O Bill and Baldwin, there's an escaped inmate that escaped in Gulf
(02:04):
Shores from work release in golf Shores. This was the top breaking news item
on Fox ten Mere moments ago.Let's quickly get the latest on the escaped
inmate. Done for an escaped inmatefrom golf Shores, continuing our Aerolo Mallory
has been on the hunt with lawenforcement for the last couple of hours.
All right, Ariel, tell uswhat's the latest. Are they still looking
(02:28):
in golf Shores? No, Dennisand Byron, they are not looking in
golf Shores anymore. In fact, the location that we're at now, investigators
say is a possible place where ChristopherBates could have been. Where we're standing
right now is right in the parkinglot of the RV Whispering Pines Resort,
right here in Golf Shores, andthis is one of the possible areas police
(02:49):
say he could have been. Infact, I had the chance to speak
with an employee that works here whosays they possibly might have spotted him on
a stolen bike. According to police. Now we did get video when that
search was happening in Gulf Shores. We want to show you some of that.
That's when that heavy police presence wasgoing on earlier today. And this
all started happening around eleven thirty thismorning when they say Bates escape from work
(03:12):
detail and he was seen in nothingbut his underwear and a T shirt.
All right, now that two olderpeople. That sounds shocking that he would
be an underpants and a T shirt. But in modern life does that really
register with most people? I mean, now, now, if somebody's wearing
(03:32):
anything, yes, thank you, thank you for wearing something. Aren't anyway?
Now they say he may have stolena bike, but since then they
don't believe he's on a bike anymore. They thinks he has an accomplice now
working with him and could possibly beheaded to the Mobile area. Mobile.
Let's up now. According to Metrojail records, Bates is familiar with Mobile.
(03:55):
He's been in and out of Metrofor the past fifteen years, and
his last known dread All right, look, let me stop it there,
So we have somebody there. They'researching lots of lots of taxpayer expense in
time spent chasing after this guy whowalked off a work release, in and
(04:16):
out of Metro for fifteen years, just in and out, in and out.
Can't we come up with something? Can't we come up with some kind
of a law that, once you'vebeen in and out for fifteen years,
that you can't live here anymore? Why not? Why can't we say,
Look, we've arrested you over andover and over and over and over again.
(04:39):
You've been in and out of thejail for fifteen years. We've now
it's we're going on year sixteen. That now we're in the we've got the
special rules kicked in where you justcan't you just can't be in Mobile County
anymore. You just can't be here. And we'll even buy you a bus
ticket to somewhere somewhere out west.Under stand that Seattle is wonderful this time
(05:02):
of year. Why can't we dothis? We now, look, we
do this. We already tell certainoffenders where they can live. If you
have been a blank you will offender. You have to register and let law
enforcement know where you're living and youcan't live within you can't live close to
a school, or you know, there's there's rules about where you can and
(05:28):
cannot live when you're a blank, you aal offender. Why can't we set
up a rule that once you havewasted our time and our money and robbed
us over and over and over again, fifteen years and in and out of
jail, just set up a newrule, and that is that you just
can't live here anymore. You've beenarrested too frequently, You've we've we've spent
(05:49):
way too much trying to policia. You still keep getting in and out out
of the jail. You can't livehere anymore. You got to go live
out in Seattle, or you goout to Oregon. Is beautiful, live
out there. If you come backand we catch you, then you have
to go to prison for five orten years minimum or something like that.
(06:10):
No parole. Why can't we dothis? Why can't we the revolving door
once again, revolving door situation. All right, Well, he may be
headed back or may already be backin the Mobile areas? Is an address
in Mobile Now I have checked inwith the investigators. They say that state
troopers could possibly be involved in thesearch. They're asking people not to approach
(06:32):
him and don't continue to call nineone one if you do not spot him.
Golf Shores did put out an updateon their Facebook page saying that not
to tie up their phone lines andonly if you possibly spot him to call
them. So again, we're gonnacontinue to check in with the officials to
try to get an update on whereBates could possibly be and as soon as
we learn more, we'll update youon air and online live right now in
(06:54):
Golf Shores Aerial Mallory, Fox tenNews. Okay, and that's the breaking
news. The work release inmate everyevery how many times a year? Do
we have a work release inmate escapestory? It's been a little while anyway,
How are you we can get intoother topics now. Two five one
(07:16):
four seven nine two seven two threeis a number. That's two five one
four seven nine two seven two three. Email address Uncle Henry at iHeartMedia dot
com. Yes, we just wejust have a nationwide uptick in different types
of crimes violence, and I justcan't help but think about the revolving door
(07:43):
situation where people get arrested over andover and over again and there just is
no end in sight. I wonderif somebody could put together of a stat
of the most times one individual hasbeen arrested in Mobile County and had to
(08:03):
go to Metro. The reason Iwould be interested is because we've had new
stories in the past ten years wherethey've explained that this person's been arrested fifty
times, and this person's been arrestedsixty times, And the number just sounds
so high to someone who I haven'tyet had my first mug shot that who
(08:24):
knows could happen later today, Butit's just an amazement to me. Think
about how much that costs, letalone to the victims of whatever crimes it
is, even if it's stealing somethinglike a bicycle or something adds up,
doesn't it. Back with more onThe Uncle Henry's Show after we check traffic,

uncle Henry, how are you doing? Snake trapper? Snake trapper,
you are live on the radio.Hey, uncle Henry. I seen where
(09:35):
a federal judge struck down New Mexico'sGovernor Brisham extremely abusive power where she was
trying to uh to make it illegalto uh conceal a gun with a permit.
Yes, Uncle, Henry d Federaljudges need to be a lot more
(09:56):
active, and also the Supreme Courtwhen they hear these uh politicians, whether
it be governors, senators, uh, congressman or just anybody even your city
council members, when they see uhuh them trying to go against the constitution
(10:16):
of Henry, they need to speakup and give them a call right away,
not wait for somebody to come upand say, hey, my rights
has been violated and then I gotto hire lawyers go through court. I
mean, they need to do justlike this judge does. But does that
sat down immediately? Well? Doesthat is that within the scope of a
judge's power to just decide that they'regoing to uh to step up and do
(10:39):
something without some matter coming before theircourt. Well, arfor Henry, a
judge took the oath of office touphold the Constitution. Now he sees it
being nah abused in any shape, form or fashion. Naw Yes, sir,
he said, speak up immediately, not wait for a case to come
before him to have to ruin it. Well, what it now? Now?
I want you to remember though, not all judges like the Constitution.
(11:05):
Not all judges think that it's appliedthe way it should. There's some judges
that think that it's old fashioned andoutdated. We need to do backflips and
and all kind of contortions to tryand figure out how to bend the Constitution
into something else. Do you wantthose judges to start jumping up and issuing
edicts about the Constitution, Yes,Errol Henry, as long as they're following
(11:28):
it. The Constitution very clear. It's it's not got any uh any Joe
Biden mumble jumble bull craft in andUncle Henry. It's clear on what it
says, it means what it says, and says what it means. So
yes or uh. You know,if if some judge makes a ruling like
that and then somebody thinks they gotevidence that can say that that's not what
(11:50):
the Constitution said. Ben let itbe litigated. But until being uh yeah,
I got no problem with any ofthem. I wanted to defend the
Constitution and the way in which theymay think it or what it says.
Uh. You know, it'll workitself out in the wash, because our
founding fathers was very clear on whatthey meant when they wrote the Constitution.
(12:11):
So, man, I have seenpeople do backflips to try and make the
Constitution do what it doesn't do.So I don't I want the Constitution enforced.
I'm with you, but I don'ttrust federal judges to always do the
right thing. I think when uhgovernor like uh Frisch and U try to
(12:37):
go around the Constitution, I thinkthere needs to be consequences. I think
the federal judge if he's gonna stepup and say, hey, this is
against the Constitution. He also oughtto be able to find her. Hefty
find her and then uh let hereven hire a lawyer to to try to
say that she was right, becauseyou know, I mean, should be
(12:58):
wasting money because you know she's notright. I agree with that. I
agree with that chick. This look, they knew they were wrong on this
also took in only ask you something, you know, Uh, if I've
seen a little video where Matt Gatesis supposed to have come out and uh
spoke against Kevin McCarthy starting this inquiry, do you know if that's artificial intelligence
(13:22):
or if that's uh or if it'strue. I haven't seen any idea.
I haven't seen it. Well,the reason I questioned, I've seen it
and it looked real. But I'vealso seen a video where Alvin Bragg has
come out saying, oh, Ishouldn't have never done this again Donald Trump,
and come to find out this wasartificially intelligence that somebody put out there.
(13:43):
Uh. And I've also seen whereRon De Santis has come up saying,
oh, I shouldn't ever run againstPresident Trump. You know, I'm
sorry even and that wind up beingfake. But man, you know,
uh, Facebook is letting a lotof that kind of stuff be put out
there. Well, it's it's itmay be really hard to determine what is
(14:03):
what is true, and what isn't. Maybe maybe Facebook and other platforms can't
figure it out yet. They probablywill use AI to detect AI, but
right now I don't. I justdon't always believe your eyes these days.
Unfortunately, Hey, snake Trapper.Gotta I want to try and get another
caller on here before the break. But thank you Snake Trapper for your phone
(14:26):
call. Hello caller the afternoon,Uncle Henry, how are you? I'm
good? How are you? Ah, I'm I'm hot, I'm working.
But it's same old broke tied toyou time game. But will will prevail.
(14:48):
I just wanted to call and takegive you some give you a pat
on the back. I'm sitting herelistening to I'm not listening to the current
shows, the live shows, listeningto the podcast. Realize you were alive,
but you went back in May oflast year. You may not remember
this. You may you may rememberit when you were looking for the washing
(15:09):
machine options in the in the guide, remember that, No, no,
I don't what was I looking for? You were looking for the difference between
heavy duty and regular wash on yourwashing machine. Last May. You were
telling telling the audience about it.I just I just wanted to chime in
(15:33):
and tell you I appreciate you beingsuch entertainment for us and making everybody laugh
these last thirty years. All right, well, certain, well, thank
you, I appreciate that very much. So you are you were not listening
to the live show. You're listeningto a show from May. Yeah,
I was. I've been listening tothe podcasts and when I try to listen
to the live stuff when I can, but I usually keep up with all
(15:58):
your stuff. But you know howto make people laugh, that's for sure.
Well, sir, I appreciate that. I appreciate that very much.
Hey, Rol rold Tide, Well, thank you very I didn't I don't
really know what to say to that, because I'm not here. I am
trying to tell the truth about theworld, and I've got this guy out
(16:19):
there just thinking it's hilarious that Ican't operate my washing machine. I mean,
I know he was giving me acompliment, but we've we've been talking
about serious stuff here, the criminaljustice system, people running around work release
inmates escaping and running around and theirunderwear, and I'm trying to figure out
a solution of this problem of tryingto get them both, get them some
(16:41):
pants, and get them out onthe West Coast away from us. And
then I'm trying to talk to SnakeTrapper about activist judges and upholding the Constitution
and and so so it's I'm kindof confounded when you call in here and
say, oh, you're making melaugh. Well, sir, I'm glad.
Look, I'm glad to be withyou, and I'm glad you're listening
(17:03):
to the Uncle Emry Show from May. If I were you, i'd probably
skip, probably skip July and August. Just maybe you can listen to some
June, skip July and August, and then jump in this week more Uncle
Amry Show. All right, Look, there's a lot more to get into.
(17:32):
There's too many topics to get intoin the next segment of the program,
but I'll pick several and take phonecalls as we move forward on The
Uncle Amry Show. And again, sir, thank you for listening to the
podcast. Uncle Henry showed News Radioseven ten wnt M. It's five thirty
(18:11):
five. There's something you want tobring up, feel free to call in
two five one four seven nine twoseven two three Hello color by Hey,
Hi, I remember that episode thatguy was talking about your washing machine when
(18:32):
you were talking about heavy duty.Yeah, yeah, you were trying to
figure out how to use a heavyduty party washing machine. Oh I don't
I don't remember that episode. Whywas I doing that? Well, you
were trying to wash six wide underwearfrom your mother. I stop and leave
my mother out of this. You'resickening freak, you dead gum sleeze bag
(18:56):
attacking a man's mother. You knowthis woman is still alive. He's still
alive. She still can hear theshow sometimes, and she's normally sized for
her. Look this. I've hadwitnesses in here, unimpeachable witnesses of high
character that have testified on the airthat they've seen her and that she's of
(19:17):
normal Wait for her height and ageand activity level and for you to call
in what us an unparented see thisas an example. I guarantee the person
that's just called unparented unparented, whoeverwas raising him, who knows where they
(19:37):
were and what they were up towhen he needed to be raised, but
he was left on his own designs. I'm sure he's been in and out
of Metro numerous occasions, and Ihave had Metro intimates call the Uncle Andry's
show through the years to say thatthe show is popular in Metro. Yes,
people are listening in Metro right now. Hey Metro, please don't break
(19:59):
into a anybody's house in Midtown whileI'm written in there anyway. Stop it
all right, I apologize for thatoutbirth. Let me go back to the
phones. Two five one four sevennine two seven two three Hello color,
Hey, how are you doing?I'm doing good. You are live on
the air. What is up withyou? It's calling you from Spanish Ford.
(20:25):
Hopefully don't lose signal. Oh,this is a good this is the
best signal you've ever had. Well. I compute back and forth from downtown
mobile on the Spanish Fort every day, so I listened to you on the
way home every day through the causeway. So sometimes they're going through the tunnel
and the causeway and then into SpanishFord. So some found we're getting in
(20:45):
between towers or something. Okay, well this is good boy, you know,
I was, I was, Iwas. I've been looking into this
reverse mortgage stuff, and I don'tknow if you ever looked into it or
not, but it sounds like apretty good deal. You know, you
turn sixty two, they pay yourhouse off for you. You never have
to pay it back. Have youever have you ever looked into anything like
that? Before? You know anythingabout that. I hesitate to come in
(21:10):
because I'm not a financial advisor oran expert on mortgages of any kind.
I could just tell you that I'vehad a lot of people I trust tell
me that it's not a good ideanow, But again, again I'm not
an expert. I would suggest thatyou talk to somebody smarter than me about
this stuff. Uh, somebody that'snot in that business, that wouldn't stand
(21:32):
to make some money off you,and let them give you the pros and
cons. But I've never sounds likea great deal. I mean, whereas
you know, you go in andthen you know, once you hit sixty
two, and then they'll pay offyour house and then that's just one less
thing that you have to pay foragain. And then you know you can
actually retire, you know a littleearlier, so you can take that money
that you use us to for yourmortgage and then have that money where you
(21:56):
feel more comfortable retiring. So Ican look tell a great deal. I
didn't know if he had known anybodythat's had that done. I was happy
with with with that situation, youknow, because I mean the idea of
it, it sounds great. Youknow where I can retire early? Yeah,
well, if I have this firstvotgage. Yeah, again, I've
(22:17):
I've never I've never heard, I'venever had any financial pro through the years
tell me that it was a goodidea. I've had a few tell me
it was a bad idea. Sofind a find an advisor that you trust
and ask him about it. Yeah, I'm close in that retirement age and
I'm just trying to figure out away to kind of at this point,
you know, just trying to figureout how to make the most out of
(22:41):
my money. So I'm not usingmy pension and stuff for a house note
if I don't have to do that, you know, And that's why I
can't retire. But you know, right now, the way things are so
expensive, I mean you got towork just to make a house payment.
Oh yeah, you get away fromthat. So you know that's the thing
is now you're just working to payyour house. No, you know,
unless you're lucky enough to have yourhouse paid for already. But you know,
(23:04):
I don't want to take all myfour or one K and everything and
then dumping into paying off the houseand then having no savings. So yeah,
d that was the thing, wasnot probbing my savings and going one
K to pay the house. Office. You can retire and then you got
no house, saying, but thenyou know, then if anything happens,
you know, you're in a badsituation. So but yeah, I'm gonna
(23:25):
look into it more. I guessif I find anything more, I'll relate
to you. But I'm definitely doingsome homework on it, find out if
that's an option for me at leastwell retire early. One of the sponsors
of this show, Mobile Bay FinancialSolutions. There's no obligation, no cost
to just go talk to them.Yeah, ought to go talk to them.
(23:47):
That's a good idea. I thinkI might do that too, because
I got some extra money where Isold my house, but it's not enough
for me to be able to,you know, buy anything decent right now,
things have doubled in value. Youknow, when I sold my house,
I got a pretty good profit.But now, I mean I only
puts down to buy half of wouldwe cost to buy a house now,
you know, so it's not enoughto be able to buy me. You
know, I bought me a newhome, but it was only enough to
(24:07):
pay half of it. So Imean, if I could, That's what
I saying about the reverse mortar. But first motors, you paid the other
half off and I got a brandnew home and only cost me half away
to paid for it and his normalpayment on it. That would be That
would be great. Yeah again,I there's nothing I can tell you.
Get in touch with Mobile Bay FinancialSolutions, and for whatever reason you'd rather
(24:29):
go somewhere else do that, buttalk to a financial advisor so you can
get a real good take on itfrom somebody smarter than me. So thank
you for your phone call. Iappreciate you listening to the show on your
way home into beautiful Spanish Sport.Congratulations on living in Spanish fort two five
one four seven nine two seven twothree telephone number on the Uncle Emory's show.
(24:53):
See, there were a few newsitems I wanted to mention to you
that I saw that caught my attention. One of them this is not a
big deal, really, but Ijust feel like I've got to mention it
because Mitt Romney announced today that he'snot going to run for re election,
that he is stepping out, andthe reasoning he gives, I believe,
(25:19):
if I remember correctly, is thathe'll be too old or something like that.
Here is a little bit of himtalking about him not running for reelection
and federal studies to save the GreatSalt Lake. I've spent my last twenty
five years in public service of onekind or another. At the end of
(25:41):
another term, I'd be in mymid eighties. Frankly, it's time for
a new generation of leaders. They'rethe ones that need to make the decisions
that will shape the world. Theywill be living in a new generation of
leaders. Now. Are these goingto be people that watch TikTok videos?
Now we face critical challenges, yes, but again, a new generation of
(26:06):
leaders. Now, if there,if, if anybody that was raised on
like Pokemon and watching TikTok videos andstuff like that and teletubbies, I do
not want, I do not wantany any leader of mind from that generation.
What do they know? Modern nationaldebt, climate change, and the
(26:27):
ambitious authoritarians of Russia and China.Neither President Biden nor former President Trump are
leading their party to confront those issues. On deficits and debt, both men
refuse to address entitlements, even thoughthey know that this represents two thirds a
federal spending. Donald Trump calls globalwarming hopes and President Biden offers field goods
(26:53):
that make no difference to the Chinain the military. I don't have any
I don't have the patience. I'msorry, I don't have any more patience
for Mint Mitt Romney. But hugedisappointment Mitt Romney. When when a guy
like Mitt Romney is prominent in theRepublican Party, it makes me think,
(27:18):
isn't it time for a third partyfor the squishy people? Can't we just
we need another party for the squishypoliticians like Mitt Romney? And I know
there's some squishy people listening. Squishypeople form a party. Uncle Henry Show
(27:56):
News Radio seven ten w NTMA.It's five fifty news headlines in ten minutes
from Fox Radio News. If you'dlike to jump in on the show,
you can two five one four sevennine two seven two three. That's two
five one four seven nine two seventwo three. I had this morning when
(28:18):
I when I got up and lookedat the x app formerly known as Twitter.
The first big news story that wasall over my phone this morning was
about scientists, allegedly scientists in Mexicoshowing two small mummified specimens at Mexico's first
(28:49):
public congressional hearing on UFOs, andthese alleged scientists claiming that they had two
mummified aliens, and they they showedthese these aliens, and it looks like
they look kind of like et Now. Of course I did not believe that
(29:14):
I was looking at real mummified aliens. That's not what I thought. Of
course, I thought this is abig load of a big load, is
what I thought. It was abig load. But then I got to
thinking, you know, this isat a this is at a Mexican congressional
hearing. The Congress of Mexico isgoing to let some guy come in with
(29:38):
what something that I don't think thatthey would allow this at the Greater Gulf
State Fair. It's it's not it'snot even that good looking enough that you
would allow somebody to do it asa as kind of a joke at the
fair or something. So I gotto think, and we ought to we
ought to be running this country.Has the CIA? Has the CIA not
(30:02):
figured out a way to go inand just actually run Mexico. Maybe maybe,
CIA, maybe we are running Mexicobecause this is weird enough to be
of our country. But that's whatI thought. I thought, this nation,
as beautiful as Mexico is. Someof the locations in Mexico so beautiful,
a lot of a lot of greatthings about the culture in Mexico.
(30:26):
Of course, I know there's alot of really bad stuff right now with
the cartels and everything, But howcan you ever take anything out of Mexico
or their government seriously? Ever again, if they're going to have Ufo ufo
mummies that look like they ought tobe on the cover of the weekly World
News. Anyway, that was thefirst story I saw today. I just
(30:48):
hope that something equally embarrassing doesn't popup in our Congress with our NASA UFO
hearings. Hello color, yes, sir, the mad truck or ld okay,
yes, okay, Look, Igot two things, two quick things.
I had to slow down for anaccident last night, and it was
(31:11):
a van upside down and there weretwo people laying on the ground and they
weren't moving up, and the policewere there, and obviously the people are
dead. But you people got toput your seat belt on because when that
when that vehicle starts slipping, nobreen you're coming out. Oh yeah,
that's I've I've had people I've workedwith diet and accidents because they were not
(31:32):
wearing their seat belts. You've gotto wear your seat belts for it's designed
to save your life. And theother thing too, is you know what
scares those aliens? What if theyeat anything as much as your mother?
We're you leave my mother out ofthis dead damn it. I can't how
am I supposed to do this?If people are this is like an noun
(31:55):
nounce. Every thirty minutes, somebodycalls in to attack the mother. I
wonder if I can. I wonderif there's a way to use law fare
on this. I'm going to talkto Taylor Martineau rowing about this and see
if there's some way that I can. Maybe I can drag LD into court
and we can we can get somesome witnesses that have seen my mother,
(32:21):
maybe even bring in some medical professionalsand put an end to this. I'm
calling them. I'm calling the attorneyson this right now. I don't even
know where I was. Where wasI? Oh? Yeah, We're almost
out of time for this hour ofthe Uncle Henry's show. LD talked about
seat belts. I've been in uh. I mentioned on the show over a
(32:47):
month ago that I had an airbagdeploy in my vehicle, and I have
been in a rental vig. I'vebeen in a couple of different rental vehicles
for over a month now, waitingfor my vehicle B to be repaired because
(33:07):
I've been told that there is anationwide shortage of the part to repair my
vehicle for this airbag. I've beentold there's no there's no estimated time of
arrival, there's no there's no ETAon the arrival of the part. So
(33:28):
I don't know how long I'm gonnaI don't know what I don't Maybe I
have to go get a different vehicle. I don't know. But at the
vehicle I'm in now, if I'mnot if I don't have the seatbelt on,
it will not let me drive it. It won't. I parked it
(33:49):
today and I thought, well,I want to do a better job with
my parking, to set an examplefor all my younger people around me.
I had already taken off my seatbelt. The vehicle would not let me
move the vehicle without the seat beltbeing engaged. Alert to quote mister Rogers,
(34:12):
it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a wonderful day in the neighborhood.
Would you be mine? Could yoube mine? What is happening to
(34:34):
back country. These people are backtrapfree though him, Yes they are.
I've noticed this apparently. I thinkthere's only a few of us left that
are not crazy. I'll go aheadvery shown. Here's Radio seven ten wnt
(34:57):
M. I appreciate very much you'relistening to the Unclamor show. We got
numerous topics that I would like todiscuss with you, also messages from listeners.
Before we get to messages from listeners, there was a report on Fox
ten about this is a local effortto encourage voter participation in Mobile, Alabama.
(35:20):
This story was on Fox ten thismorning. We're gonna hear Anaias Spraggs,
the reporter, and also the versatileJoe Emer will be yes the rare
emur appearance on the program. TheVersatile Joe Emer will be introducing a Naias
Spraggs. Now the beginning of thisreport, he says, do you need
(35:43):
extra cash? This is this isa story about getting people to vote?
Do you need extra cash? Apparentlyyou can make money somehow encouraging people to
vote. Let's listen together, meand you to this report that was on
Fox ten earlier today. Need extracash? Two local organizations are teaming up
(36:05):
hosting a social media challenge that includescash prizes. Fox sends, Ania Sprays,
joins us Live with more information Anniah. How much money we talking Yeah,
Joe. As much as one hundredand fifty dollars is being offered.
The challenge is being hosted by theLeague of Women Voters of Mobile, and
it's all about getting more young peopleto vote. Wait what what young now?
(36:30):
Why do we want to get moreyoung people to vote? Now?
Are you talking about people under theage of twenty one? Because we don't
trust them to buy beer. They'renot trustworthy enough. It's against the law.
You may you may remember this,it's against the law to let young
(36:51):
people buy beer under If you're underthe twenty one, you're you. We
don't think you're you've got the judgmentbuy beer. But we want you to
actually participate in voting and actually helpmake laws about beer or something. Let
me listen, All right, let'slisten together. What's the logic behind this?
(37:15):
Do you know how many races inthe last couple of years have come
down to one or two votes?Way too many. The League of Women
Voters of Mobile in the Leadership MobileClass of twenty twenty three Government Project group
have come up with a way toencourage more young people to vote. They've
created a Young People Again I mean, do we let if you're under twenty
(37:37):
one? Is it legal to u? Is it legal to buy cigarettes?
Under the age of twenty one?Again? We've we've decided there's just so
many different things that you can't doin our in our country. We've decided
that if you're under twenty one,you just you just don't have the necessary
(37:58):
and maturity to do it, likebuy beer. But we want you to
pick our leaders. Oh all right, okay, all right. TikTok challenge
called IVY twenty three. It standsfor Increasing Youth Voting and it involves a
competition with cash prizes. We thinkthat everybody that's eligible should register to vote
(38:19):
and show up to vote for thenext six days. Both organizations are hosting
a challenge on TikTok. They're askinghigh school and college students in Mobile County
to use a social media platform toupload videos that will help first time voters
through the process. We realize someof the first time voters might be a
little apprehensive. You know, Idon't know how to do that, and
oh that's scary participants. Kip,I'm sorry, I'm sorry for laughing,
(38:45):
but for our first time voters arefearful of the process. Well, maybe
if you've got a phobia about theelderly, because when you go vote,
many of the people in there runningthings look like they're one hundred and twenty
years old. And maybe that's it. Maybe it's phobia, some type of
(39:05):
granny phobia. All right, anyway, let me continue the story. Can
talk about one of four things whyyou should vote, how to register to
vote, how to find information aboutthe ballot, or what to do on
election day. Mara Evans with theLeague of Women Voters explains how the competition
works. Competition will be based onthe number of likes and the number of
(39:25):
views and creativity. The first placewinner will earn one hundred and fifty dollars,
second place will get one hundred dollars. In third place will take home
fifty while the challenge continues. Evansends with this final message to young people
who do not believe their vote matters. Often you say, well, I
don't like anybody that's running. Iknow, but I'm telling you one of
(39:47):
the people that's running will represent you. You are giving your power to them,
so you need to go and hirethe person that's best for you.
And this challenge will continue until fivepm on September nineteenth, which is National
Voter Registration Day. Winners will beannounced on September twenty six and be sure
(40:08):
to check out our website a littlelater foxtintv dot com for a little bit
more information on how to submit yourvideo. Betty, y'all all right,
Well, this is open to highschool and college students and if you know
one, you can tell them tocheck out foxtintv dot com and they will
allegedly have all the info you needto get involved in this special TikTok challenge
(40:30):
to get young people that maybe arenot We don't trust him enough to drink
a beer, but we'll trust himenough to cast a vote. I've always
thought that the voting system. Ilike the idea of everybody gets to vote.
Of course, I would like tosee more participation, especially by smart
(40:51):
people, in our voting process. But I've always thought that voting should be
a little bit different in our country. For example, I always think that
people under the age of under theage of thirty, what do you know?
What do you know? Under theage of thirty, So I thought,
I've always thought that people under theage of thirty their votes should count
(41:12):
for a half vote per person unlessthey're a military, active duty military,
or veteran or first responder, andthen they would have the full vote.
And then I think people been betweenthe ages of thirty and seventy should have
a full vote. And then peopleover the age of seventy, because they're
(41:37):
smarter, they've had more life experience, they've they've paid more taxes through their
life, their votes should count oneone and a half votes. Yes.
Now I know that that my mysystem will never get adopted because it makes
too much sense, but that's theway I would do it, all right,
Well, good luck to everybody involvedthere. I just the one thing
(42:00):
about the story that I do likeis the idea that your vote counts,
because a lot of us have wonderedabout that. In fact, a lot
of us, maybe not you,of course, not you. I'm not
talking about you. I'm not pointinga fanger at you, the listener,
but others of us have thought thatmaybe their vote doesn't count as much as
(42:22):
they thought, and that maybe thehaving choices is kind of an illusion,
and that maybe the big donors arethe ones that have more influenced than the
actual voter. But that's that's notyou. I'm not pointing a fanger at
you. There's some people that thinkthose things. All right, Well,
(42:43):
look, I've got more to getinto. Some messages from listeners. Messages
from listeners coming up in the nextsegment here on news Radio seven ten w
nt M. Thank you so muchagain for listening to the Uncle Henry Show

what that means or who that wherethat comes from. My ignorance is quite
(43:52):
profound. But a special master willredraw the Alabama congressional district map after the

right with the Boating Rights Act.Now, I had that call yesterday.

I don't know was that. Thatsounds like it would be something from
Little Abner or the Snuffy Smith comicstrip or maybe Ma and Paul Kettle or
(45:02):
I don't know, maybe none ofthem said it. But Snake Trapper,
you you remind me of someone fromLittle Abner or Snuffy Smith or Ma and
Paul Kettle. All right, backto the voicemail, brother man, take

number two five one seven zero sixbull two five one seven zero six two
(47:10):
eight five five. Now let's seethank I've got time for a message here
from the mad Trucker on the topicof President Biden. You may remember that
President Biden gave some unusual speeches lately, the one in Vietnam, getting a
lot of attention for a variety ofreasons, some because he looked just well,
(47:37):
God bless him, just exhausted, five hundred years old. Here is
LD. Hey, uncle Henry LD. Let me get this straight. When
Joe Biden talked about the lying dogfaced pony soldier, he really said a
(47:57):
lot. He really said a lot. A lot of people think he just
he just a rambling, but no, listen to him. He said that
the Indian Scouts told the other Indiansthat they were there to help, just
like the federal government. I'm fromthe federal government and I'm here to help,
and the Indians knew that they werelying, dog faced pony soldiers.
(48:22):
That's right, that's right. TheIndians knew that the Indian Scouts who were
working with the government were rotten tothe core, just like the federal government,
just like Joe Biden, Just likethe Democrats, when they tell you
they're there to help, you knowthey're there to hurt you. They're there
(48:44):
to destroy you, just like theIndians. All right, l D,
thank you for that perspective on thedog faced the lying, dog faced pony
soldier incident. Something that Joe Buddenbrings up from time to time. It
(49:05):
occurs to me that young people,of course, have no idea what Joe
Biden is talking about when he makesa reference like that, And who knows,
maybe in the next election or theelection after that, they'll somebody will
be elected so much younger than methat will make references cultural references that I
won't understand some type of Power Rangersreference, or a Pokemon reference, some
(49:30):
video game reference, and I won'tunderstand any of it. All right,
look out of time. Thank youso much for listening to The Uncle Henry
Show. As I mentioned a littlewhile ago, you can find this show
as a podcast at NewsRadio seventen dotcom, or look up the Uncle Henry
Show on the iHeartRadio app and listento old episodes. There have a wonderful,
