Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Flavor Podcast Network, the Flavor Breakfast Podcast with
stace A, Zorah and Charlie.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
On today's podcast, you'll hear help me almost almost my
Charlie cry.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
And I'll tell you how my kids know when they're
in trouble.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Jeez.
Speaker 4 (00:15):
And they said such nice things about you.
Speaker 5 (00:17):
And a very special hip hop Mystry celebrating fifty one
years of hip hop and the Jamaican influence.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
So I often do this thing, guys, and as usually
with my kids, and I think this is a flex.
I love speaking in my own language in front of people.
And when it comes to my children when they're playing
up in a sitting where it's you know, we have
guests and we're in public, I talk to them Mantonguan.
Speaker 4 (00:44):
Oh, so they know they're in trouble.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
When they know they're in trouble. When I speak to
the Montonguean, when Saini gives them their eye, oh, that's
that's it over, they.
Speaker 6 (00:54):
Know they're in trouble, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
So I appreciate the nice little birthday shout out to
all their children, but when they are playing up in
front of people, I'm like a little bit, don't get
the world. Yep, it's like till we are at home
and then they drop everything. They stop all of a sudden.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Sorry Charlie, but even like removing the speaking in your
own language, saying simply saying to a child. We'll talk
about this when we get even to a partner. We'll
talk about this when we get home.
Speaker 5 (01:27):
Oh no, no, no, no, you just unlocked another one. When
we're going to have a Fano who and this is
not the Fano that I gave birth to or anything.
My dad, my brothers, my brother when there's going to
be a fan of who, We're just like, we're all
in trouble.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
We're all in trouble. So how do you know you're
in trouble? You know you're in trouble when it's the opposite.
Speaker 5 (01:47):
For my kids, if we were just speak English, they okay,
what's technique?
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Right?
Speaker 6 (01:55):
You speak hermade?
Speaker 5 (01:56):
Yeah? Yeah, yes, speaking English child.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
So you know you're in trouble when.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
I know I'm in trouble when I'm getting the silent treatment, ah, which.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
Is boring, you get Oh, is that what we're doing?
We're going around pretending we can't speak I just.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Like I don't care.
Speaker 6 (02:16):
I'm go away.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Then you know I'm too stubborn for that. I'm like, okay, troubles.
Speaker 5 (02:21):
So maybe it was when you were a kid, or
maybe it's now. But you know you're in trouble when was.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
The sentence a two double oh hand your full flavor.
You know you're in trouble when dot dot dot oh man.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
So I often do this with the kids when they're
in trouble in front of people in public.
Speaker 6 (02:39):
I speak in tongue.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
They know, they drop everything, they stop playing up, then
they start behaving.
Speaker 5 (02:44):
Another one is similar to what we had before. I
know I'm in trouble when I would always know I
was in trouble when my mother would say my full name?
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Is there a line?
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Listen here?
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Now, this one's so specific. You know you're in trouble
when you hear OI. You know, like you know, it
doesn't have to be agressive, though you could, but you know,
like you know, see, yeah, I feel I feel scared
hearing there. Another one says when my mom calls my
name at the same time as grinding her teeth, see
(03:20):
like together like.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
Another one, you know you're in trouble at church when
your old lady.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
Gives you the eyes.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
Same the like and they annoy I've done big eyes
to my kids, like, no, you.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Did not just do that.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
It's just funny how you body language can give off
some You didn't even have to say anything.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
You just you truly don't have to say anything. The
eyes are a good one, and you know, there's been
so many tixes for there as well as eyebrows as well,
like you know, just a little like I find it insane,
like you said, Challie, that you just can sit there
and it's like your people, oh, they know, they know
you don't even have to move your rise Sometimes. Actually,
(04:04):
for me, if I look out into the distance vacantly,
it's how my partner knows I'm angry at it's actually
I'm not doing anything with my face.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
Look at this.
Speaker 5 (04:13):
Oh here's one on the text when I get a
text that just says.
Speaker 6 (04:16):
Ka, oh that's the worst fit.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Half mystery and start years old.
Speaker 5 (04:27):
Now you know, happy birthday year hip hop, but fifty
one years of hip hop is celebrated August eleventh, Charlie's
birthday as well. And when you look at hip hop,
we look at the day in the South Bronx, at
the movement that we now know as hip hop was
born when a Jamaican immigrant called Cindy Campbell through a
(04:47):
back to school party at a block.
Speaker 6 (04:49):
I'm the first hip hop promoter.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
It's my back to school party that I gave fifteen
forty seven to Cavenue Ougust eleventh, nineteen seventy three, and
was the birth of.
Speaker 5 (05:01):
And her brother Cool Clive had a stage name DJ
cool Herk, and of course he'd keep the dance for
pumping with those musical baits going on. But it's really
important that we recognize that both of them come from Jamaica,
and Jamaica really is a huge influence on hip hop.
Speaker 7 (05:18):
DJ cool Heirk essentially invented the breakbeat, which is the
basis of early hip hop music, and wrapping over beats
was partly inspired by toasting, a type of lyrical chanting
over a rhythm.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
The technique was popular.
Speaker 7 (05:32):
In dancehall and reggae music in Jamaica in.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
The nineteen sixties.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
So you can hear that sound right there, can't you.
But as far as Busta Rhymes is concerned, because he
was born in New York to Jamaican parents, he wants
more respect and recognition for the influence of Jamaica.
Speaker 8 (05:52):
And I don't think people really understand this. Whole Hippops
was birth from Jamaica. Like cool Work is a Jamaica.
Get what I'm saying. The whole concept of having big
ass speakers stockpiled on top of each other and playing
loud ass music outside that come from Jamaica. That's dance
hop culture, you know what I'm saying. So cool Her
(06:13):
brought dance hop culture to the US and gave birth
to hip hop culture. The only thing that changed was
the type of music that was played.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
And so who else Jamaican?
Speaker 5 (06:24):
Well, the notorious Big So he was born to Jamaican
immigrant parents in nineteen seventy two, and so when you
hear Big this is that influence tool your soul. Who
else is Jamaican and their roots in the fucker Papa
Pepper from Sultan Pepper come on.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
Chamaica and who else Heavy D?
Speaker 5 (06:46):
So as we celebrate the aspect of Jamaican influence on
hip hop, we celebrate also Heavy D with this great track,
because that is your.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
Hip hop mystery.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
If you don't know n your knows, but now you're
right here with us, Charlie.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
But it was your birthday.
Speaker 5 (07:04):
You say so, happy birthday, Charlie, and we hope that
you had a beautiful day.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
You turned thirty eight two.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
You had lots to celebrate because you also won the
higher X Oh yeah, the big competition of your gym
beef t.
Speaker 6 (07:20):
I was good. It was a good weekend. Thirty eight
years old.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
I still feel pretty good, to be honestus, I work
a couple of seconds.
Speaker 6 (07:25):
Do I feel in the older? No, let me do it?
Speaker 4 (07:28):
What am I lifting?
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Ah?
Speaker 4 (07:29):
That's our that's our I feel. Anna.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
We do have a we have some presents for you,
so we're going to get those, Anna, if you don't
mind bringing in the presents, please, wow.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
And I hope you like the gift bag.
Speaker 5 (07:42):
We had to steal it from the office because there's
the one thing that Aera had to do. She forgot
the gift bag. But here you go, Charlie. Have a
look at your presence, so you're.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Not going to be pranked. I could see he was
nervous about his birthday celebration.
Speaker 5 (07:54):
Look at the red thing inside the bag. First, No, no, no,
the red thing inside the bag. First, there's a piece
of paper and ah, okay, right, hang on, guys.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
The red thing inside there. Just read that first.
Speaker 6 (08:07):
Prank free zone. I love this eleve of the eighth.
Speaker 5 (08:12):
So from your birthday for a whole week, you are
a prank free zone. We're gonna put it on your microphone.
No one's allowed to prank Charlie. Thank you guys. All right,
that's not your biggest prison.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
No.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
Have a look at that bag. The thing that you're
opening your better opening what okay? So what is that?
What is that? Charlie?
Speaker 6 (08:28):
I have a new balance is like a little bootbag
thinging that I like.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
Okay, yeah, boot bag because the sea you go to training,
you don't have anything to carry your shoes.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
You're walking around with your shoes.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
I love this.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
And then I got two snickables.
Speaker 6 (08:43):
Oh this is to put intipe my shoes.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
Yeah, and your bag so it doesn't stink it generally right, And.
Speaker 6 (08:48):
Look at this brom Sashi who cares for Sashi.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
I gotta.
Speaker 6 (08:55):
Guys listen. Is this the sign?
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Because I've been doing it over doing it with all
the back on the worker we go with this protein bar.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Nice. I love you, guys, I love you. Turn happy birthday.
But it doesn't stop there. We also have another special
birthday surprise from all of your boys. So starting with
your album, elders Rob, happy birthday.
Speaker 9 (09:22):
That thank you've always been here for me and my life.
Thank you always making me laugh even this sometimes try.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
But two things I love.
Speaker 9 (09:33):
About you and appreciate you. That your hard work or
your hard working man. And you're always there for me
when I'm sad. Thank you, love you.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
Oh so cute.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
And then we have your second elders Hi Dad.
Speaker 10 (09:47):
These are three things that I love about you. That
you're cool Dad, You're a great singer, and you spoil
me and bet your lot. Thank you for being in
my life for news. I love you and you're cooler.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
Thank you for being in his life for two years.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
And then your your youngest not happy. It's a short one,
so listen to his little voice. Okay, this is happy birthday. Seriously,
(10:29):
we we we absolutely adore you.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
Keep your prank freeze.
Speaker 5 (10:33):
That's really important. The boss needs to see it. Prank
free zone for a whole week. Congratulations, Thank you guys,
one more time.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Birthday did it.
Speaker 6 (10:47):
Stays Azora and Charlie.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
Good thing.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
That's a nice song because you know what, sometimes I'm
not in a nice mood. Okay, because my partner did him.
When I tell you, this man is the snack so
much so that if I want a snack, the only
way that I will be able to eat it is
if I hide it from him.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
Yeah, you're hiding food now, thenn't take long.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
I literally hid an entire pack of muffins because I
knew that it would take me a week to get
through them. For him, it would take a day. Like
I bought the Crispy Chicken shapes, put them in the
cupboard stupidly while I fell asleep on a Thursday night
and he stayed to watch the League. He finished the
entire box. I didn't even see it be opened.
Speaker 5 (11:31):
So you hide it from him. Hiding things from people
you live with, there's a thing. It might be from
your kids, or my kids hide things from me. My
daughter got into the habit of hiding chewing gum in
my car because she's like, Mom, remember that time you
ate so much chewing gum so quickly you got the
laxative effect that they warn you about.
Speaker 6 (11:50):
What.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
Yeah, it was so bad, this is legit. I see
why they put there there. Now while they had that warning.
So she's like, you can't control yourself, so I'm gonna
hide it addiction.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
Yeah see, my kids got me into eating Natalla out
of the jar with a spoon and I'm hooked.
Speaker 6 (12:10):
So now, SEYI, my wife is now hiding the natella.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
It's going to be done. People like you have to
be stopped, Charlie.
Speaker 6 (12:16):
I know, but I just can't help it. Whatever happened
to mine is yours.
Speaker 5 (12:21):
Yeah, well, no hiding things like I'm sure my husband
would like to hide the leftovers because he like will
plan his day around trying to get home to eat
the leftovers. So if they are gone, he's so sad,
but he doesn't hide them because he's not a psychopaths right.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Hey hey, my flatmate also she hears a snack container
that she hides from her partner as well, because I
just can't they can't help themselves.
Speaker 5 (12:46):
You might have to hide things from workmates as well. Yeah,
it makes just want to help themselves.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
While I actually, I actually used to hide my shampoo
conditioner because I knew, I knew my whole heart that
one of my other flatmates was using it, and I'm like,
I hate that I would have to take out my face, wash,
my shampoo, my conditioner. It would all have to leave
and go into my room because otherwise it was being used.
Speaker 6 (13:08):
So then when you go show, you bring all your yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Which is annoying, Like I wish I didn't have to
do that, but you know, we actually all of us
by the one person was keeping our stuff in our
bedrooms because we realized what she was doing.
Speaker 5 (13:22):
You're hiding things, yeah, but you think you have to.
So what do you have to hide from people you
live with or maybe work with? Text three to eight
two double O give us called I went hundred for flavor?
What do you have to hide from people you live with?
We have here on the text, I hide mommy and
Daddy's chips on the top shelf so that my kids
don't eat them.
Speaker 6 (13:43):
I think this is the winner, this one right here.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
I don't hide anything, but I freeze the credit card
from my wife so that she has no access to
online spending.
Speaker 6 (13:55):
Bro where is the lie?
Speaker 2 (13:57):
But the thing is no one. I don't really understand it,
and I don't know if I believe this person that
tics to them, because just why have the card at all?
Because you can't use it now either, So just don't
have the card. Just got a man be out here
freezing the credit card. It's more like a statement than
anything else.
Speaker 5 (14:14):
I guess so, but see hiding bank accounts as possible,
termine that we have shared accounts. But that's the one
I can't see, is the credit card one. I don't
know what's going on over there. I just see money
going out to pay for it, like, oh my god.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
That makes me nervous.
Speaker 6 (14:33):
The other one here, I'm hiding my relationship from my family.
Oh wait, relationship.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
We're talking about nice things like chips.
Speaker 6 (14:42):
That's why I'm People are going deep on this.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
For nless.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
No, it is seventy thirty nine. It's kind of how
this game works, we guess, and we hope that we
get it rights. It's a numbers game stage myself and Charlie,
we're all going to be up against each other and
producer Anna or you'll ask the questions and whoever is
the closest or they win, don't they?
Speaker 11 (15:12):
They surely do. And this morning and we're still in
the Olympic theme. But we're looking at the New Zealand campaign, right, So.
Speaker 5 (15:19):
The Olympics in New Zealand, So more or less we've
got to figure out what is right.
Speaker 11 (15:24):
More or less okay. Question one, how many key we
competed at the twenty twenty four Paris Olympics.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
I think I know this.
Speaker 5 (15:35):
I'm going to say sixty four.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
I'm no, I think it's man. I'm going to say
eighty three.
Speaker 6 (15:43):
I'm going to say forty.
Speaker 11 (15:47):
Okay, Zrerah is the closest, well, one hundred and ninety five,
ninety five. And you've got to think about the like
SEVENS teams.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
Oh now we've forgotten about that already. That was ages ago.
It's two weeks.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Cool.
Speaker 11 (16:01):
Question number two, what was New Zealand's total middle count
for twenty twenty four? Is there a you kick us off?
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Oh no, it is? Wait does it count? So you
know how the Sevens? You know they get a middle count?
Speaker 4 (16:17):
Why wouldn't they?
Speaker 2 (16:18):
It would be one one? Yeah, okay, that's that's important
to remember. I'm going to say eighteen.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
Me yeah, uh, twenty three.
Speaker 11 (16:32):
I think it's twenty and Stace's spot on twenty.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
Yeah, well done, say spaces on fire. That's just one.
Speaker 4 (16:41):
Question Number three.
Speaker 11 (16:42):
New Zealand's most successful Olympic sport is rowing. How many
middles since the games have started?
Speaker 4 (16:48):
Have we got that? Throwing out the gate. Okay, forty four.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Lots. I'm going to go higher. I'm going to go
one hundred and five because of bronzes and all that. Yeah, okay,
I'm gonna have to go fifty.
Speaker 11 (17:02):
Lock it in and Stace is really closest with thirty three.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
Yeah, that's all right. You're doing all right, backwards rowing.
Look where you're going man.
Speaker 11 (17:12):
Okay, and last but not least in terms of gold Middles,
what place in New Zealand? Come and this year's eleventh?
Speaker 2 (17:20):
Eleventh? You said the earlier.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
I was just making sure you were listening, so I.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Said that Charlie eleven.
Speaker 6 (17:26):
Yeah, but I.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Think Stace has taken it for this morning.
Speaker 9 (17:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (17:31):
Yeah, I've been doing a lot of research on my phone.
I mean, I know the Olympians work hard, but you know,
I've been looking up stuff, been looking out roles. I've
been supporting people. You know, I've been there. I've been yelling, yelling, yep,
I've been there.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
So thank you everybody.
Speaker 5 (17:47):
I'm looking forward to the Terror Olympics now I'll be
here for you as well. Closing is happening. Oh, there's
going to be such great parties. There's going to be
people getting together there's a few that zero said, oh
he's hot.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
All good things have to come to an end. The Olympics.
We have reached the closing ceremony. Can you believe it?
Speaker 4 (18:09):
It's about to happen this morning.
Speaker 5 (18:11):
And our flag bearers are Dame Lisa Carrington, now our
most successful Olympia ever with eight gold and one bronze medal,
and also Finn Butcher. So they are our flag bearers.
I've got goosebumps as I said that, just incredible, really
successful games. And don't forget, by the way, that the
Paralympics are coming up as well, and it's an awesome
(18:31):
time to support too. But per capita we did pretty
well New Zealand. If you look at you know, yes,
the medal table, we are number eleven. But if you
look at per capita then it's a little bit of
a different story because say Australia got one gold per
one point four to four million, USA one goal per
(18:54):
twelve point three wow million, China one goal per fifty
six million, and ours is one gold point point five million.
Speaker 6 (19:04):
Yeah, so we're up there, man.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
Yeah, cooks, we are this little country man, we are legs.
We are really and you know in terms of all
of the medals that we won over the weekend hesarycap.
Speaker 12 (19:16):
We're ready to fly and the women's kayak double five
hundred bought an incredible achievement. They are six meters ahead
Carrington and houstin a boat link for the half fleet.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
New Zealand gold.
Speaker 12 (19:31):
Many Wishy wins silver in the women's shot put and
she is New Zealand's.
Speaker 6 (19:36):
New shot put queen on the podium.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
Shot Many silver for.
Speaker 12 (19:40):
You Carrington coming down to the line, it is gonna
be gold. A golden globe for Lydia comb and at
top of the podium in Paris, Chewy's can fly and
Haimuska is high chop Olympic champion and La k Cruise.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
It's a tuggle gold in list in Paris. She completes
her own after tree off.
Speaker 12 (20:05):
Ellie Wallerston is elated.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
She's picked up the front.
Speaker 12 (20:09):
Ellie Walliston has run a superbly technical.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
Right, I'm gonna miss the commentators.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
This is great, you know the height wind.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Someone wins a gold, I just love it. Gold is gold.
Speaker 5 (20:23):
Kay we can fly so many epic moments and he's like,
you know, I'm gonna say I'm gonna say Kay, we
can fly Golden Clover. Lida co know his mom and
it was a great line. What about when you said that,
Oh yes.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Oh, We're so proud of all of our Olympians. The
closing ceremony is just kicking off the well done to
all of our athletes.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
Go team Museum, stayce, Azara and Charlie. The latest celebrity
goss from around the world.
Speaker 6 (20:56):
Wave a breakfast.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
Oh am god, oh man.
Speaker 5 (21:00):
Well, yesterday, August eleven was the official anniversary of the
birth of hip hop, So you're born on the same day,
Tarlie this week, and we'll talk about Charlie's birthday soon.
But also let's talk about the Fuji's Reunion tour being canceled.
So there was talk about it being ticket sales, that
there weren't enough ticket sales in America, but there will
still be some performances in Europe. But will there because
(21:23):
Pras Michael has actually pointed fingers at Lauren Hill saying
that I've saved her reputation for twenty years by not
telling my side of the story.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
But oops, cats out of the bag.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
Oh Myra, no on no, in itself, there is going
to be some massive tea that's going to drop. And
in other news, Trevior Scott, what are you doing?
Speaker 8 (21:47):
Man?
Speaker 2 (21:47):
So he was arrested in Paris after watching the semifinals
men's basketball. There was an alleged altercation with a security
guard at the hotel, but in the statement it suits
that the security guard had intervened to separate Trevor Scott
from his own bodyguard.
Speaker 6 (22:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (22:05):
I don't think that's how your bodyguard by having a
scrap with the person you're supposed to be guarding.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
He's probably testing out his bodyguard. See if he's got
hands in.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
It and he wasn't released, you know, when they're not
not charged or anything.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Maybe it's like Kevin Costner and you know, Nney Houston.
Speaker 6 (22:22):
I'm still playing in the closet.
Speaker 11 (22:26):
Now.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
I'm gonna say it now, and I'm going to say
it proud. payWave is going out of fashion.
Speaker 4 (22:32):
payWave, payWave.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
It's it's over fore you payWave. Everyone is just sick
of paying for their stupid surcharge.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
Man.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Yeah, I've started going manual again and putting my card carden.
And when I look around, so are other people. So
are my friends, and we're not we're not discussing this
I've just noticed more people are inserting their cards.
Speaker 6 (22:55):
So I'm led to the party because.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
It's like I'm flexing when I have my card on
my phone, so I'm just paying through the phone.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
Well that's what I've always done. I mean, I didn't
have a physical card for two years and only relied
on Apple paying. But I'm so sick and tired of
like three percent surcharge. If you go to buy something
you know, semi big, say like a piece of homare
or something, it's quite actually a bit of money adds up.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
Yeah, and actually know there is.
Speaker 5 (23:25):
Some results showing that people are using payWave lists because
they are going, oh, I don't want the searcharge and
the search charges it's not it's not really reasonable for
it to be that high.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
I agree, because there's already GST on everything anyways.
Speaker 5 (23:39):
Yeah, so just what we were doing is for convenience,
is paying more money just by forgoing that little tap.
Speaker 6 (23:46):
I need to stop doing that. Then.
Speaker 5 (23:47):
I think the other thing is is that it just
feels cool, like more you know, futuristic.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
That's I'm on that buzz. I'm thinking that I'm cool
with it. You don't want to do it, Yeah, I'd
just pay with my phone.
Speaker 5 (23:59):
Yeah, I know it's it's not real, but it is
real anyway, because I'm so sick of you, so charge.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Hopefully you know. It's a little less stressful than the
one Stacey head the other day.
Speaker 5 (24:13):
I was late for work on Friday. I mean I
was on there on the right time, but when about
five o'clock, my husband hit the nail polish that I
was about to put on and shattered all over the
bathroom tiles.
Speaker 6 (24:26):
Damn.
Speaker 5 (24:27):
And I don't have any because I don't usually use
nail polish. I have it, I go to the shop
and get it done right. So this is a one
off and it shattered all over the bathroom tiles. And
I didn't have any nail polish Remova, so I was
trying to use myths actually, and I was thinking, I
was just rubbing and going, oh my gosh, this is
in these tiles forever.
Speaker 4 (24:47):
How do you like to you cut them out?
Speaker 2 (24:49):
What the heck?
Speaker 5 (24:50):
He had to get on a flight, and I was like, no,
in all three work, you know where you're distracted?
Speaker 4 (24:55):
Going?
Speaker 5 (24:55):
Have I just have We just got thousands of dollars
worth of damage at our house just sitting there and
I ended up racing to the supermarket after work getting
some nail polish remover, honing home really quickly trying it
before I got on my flight down to Hastings for
Toy Doo Dead Eel, the beautiful Mrdy language festival that
(25:17):
was huge over the last days of last week and
it was beautiful. It just goes to show that that
del Mardi is thriving in so many ways. But I
was not thriving when it came to the nail polish,
and so I just needed to know I could get
rid of it. And luckily with a stone if you
get that good stuff at worked and I was just
like yes because it also I hadn't realized splashed all
(25:38):
over my coat, which is so that's yeah, I don't.
Speaker 6 (25:41):
And that coat, that coat is the coat.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
It's gone.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
It's the goat coat and it's gone on.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
One thing those stace is So if Scotty hit the
nail polish over onto the ground, so it's his fault,
isn't it.
Speaker 5 (25:58):
Yes, that's correct, But he was off on a flight
so he couldn't go. He had to go. That was fine,
but I did I did follow up. I did say
you can you need to say oopsy or sorry and
he give me upsy And that was a whole day later.
It not good at it because but I'm blind, I
can't see. I'm like, yep, I know you. I also
(26:21):
did not need that this thing in the morning standing on.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
Business Man, I've scotti saying in eupsy. On Saturday night,
ding ding ding, it all went down my partner, given
he had his boxing fight. I can't even remember what
he walked out to now.
Speaker 5 (26:40):
Oh wow, you're so invested in that. We did walk
out songs for Friday Fields on Friday.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Look, he changed the life three times. It was Lipsey Hustle.
Last time that Dad checked. I can't remember how it goes.
I think that might have been it, but I don't know.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
Because you were nervous at the time. How are you feeling?
Speaker 2 (26:57):
Was so nervous. I could not sit still. I was,
you know, like cleaning under my nails is one of
my nervous tips that I do, and so yeah, I
was like cleaning under my nails, sitting there like it.
Speaker 6 (27:10):
Was really clean, but you're still going hard.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
Yeah, like I was making I was like splitting the
skin from my now and then also taking my phone
case like on and off again. That seemed to be
a thing I was doing. Once he came out, it
was game on, Like he looked so serious and also
so hot. Yeah, pretty hot, And it was kind of
(27:34):
disappointing the way that it ended out. So he did word,
which is great, But the fight got called fifty five
seconds in because the other the other guy, he justictered
a shoulder, popped a shoulder out throwing a punch.
Speaker 5 (27:49):
I'm not sure.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
I couldn't really say it because it was a couple
of punches got thrown from each of them, but they
were in a hugging position and he ended up dropping
down to.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
Less less expected because sometimes when you go to commit
to a punch, I think that's everything.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
But he didn't div so it was miss yeah more
when you're missing, well that's let's I think what's happened here?
Because it looked like nothing happened and then he.
Speaker 4 (28:12):
Was just down.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
Yeah, And so both of them were pretty gutted. They
definitely wanted to go the three rounds. But as Dev
said after the fight, when the when the commentator MC
asked him, you know, I'm pretty disappointed, he said, well,
that's sport, and as someone who is obsessed with sport.
He does understand that that's that's just the way it
(28:36):
went down, I know, But how can you predict that?
You can't.
Speaker 4 (28:41):
Well, so what happens now he's caught the bug?
Speaker 2 (28:45):
Well, he still obviously wants to go three rounds in
a ring, doesn't he? So he starts back fighting Cam
and two weeks time.
Speaker 4 (28:52):
My man do it again too.
Speaker 6 (28:54):
Yeah with them.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
His coach said that. But he doesn't want me to
see him like in the gym and stuff. I think
he kind of wants it to be his thing, which
I totally understand. But his coach is like, oh, yeah,
you should come and do it to and I was like,
oh nah, now you're bft Gilly Now yeah joined the cult.
He Look, we've got to talk about it. We've got
to talk about her. The Queen of Australia, the Queen
(29:17):
of break dancing, the queen of i'd say even the
Internet at the moment. Rachel Gunn aka ray Gun. When
her time came, ray.
Speaker 13 (29:27):
Gun delivered in her Ossie, Green and Gold trackies. We
saw a kangaroo hop, the sprinkler, head stands and all
of it. She learned her exactly zero points from the judges.
Speaker 6 (29:38):
Oh ray gun.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
No zero points in the breakdancing competition. She has a
PhD in cultural movement, she's in dancing at the university.
And although people saying, oh, satire, she's you know, like
she's making a statement.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
She's got No, it's the statement.
Speaker 5 (29:56):
Sense of humor about it now because people are trying
to interview her and she's like just ignoring them.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
She's really about her.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
She's saying that it's good just to be different. Right, Wait,
so what is so that was the message? Oh something
along that line.
Speaker 6 (30:08):
No, I think this is.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
If you asked me down to the outfit, it was not.
It was not giving breakdancers. And it is almost like
I would go to say, imagine all of the actual
breakdancers in Australia right now.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
No, but she won the Oceania Champs.
Speaker 5 (30:28):
So the problem is is that it's not well Oceania,
that's us as well, but she did not win. Yeah,
it just goes to show that there must be some
sort of qualifying system that's not the same as like
what we see were the dance competitions that are actually
got really good people in it. But then again you'd
have to say that Olympics aren't really the standard for breakdancing.
(30:48):
What do people want to win? They want to win
the hip up Champs, you know all of that. So anyway,
breakdancing's out for the Olympics. They're like, okay, we're not
going to do that one and done.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
I've got a feeling that she had like a mean routine,
like the routine was leading up to Olympics, then came
to the Olympics, she just played up.
Speaker 4 (31:05):
No, she's got nothing more than that.
Speaker 5 (31:07):
Hits standards is the extent of her you know, physical abilities.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
I think.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
I think honestly, when I watched her do the sprint, Clara.
Speaker 4 (31:17):
Having me on, that's what.
Speaker 5 (31:18):
The judge's faces said, and that's why they gave you
zero points.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
I mean that was pretty hard kangaroo hops and that's
why they can.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
But then there's a lot of people going, oh, yeah,
I can go to the Olympics in La.
Speaker 6 (31:28):
Now look at it.
Speaker 4 (31:29):
I can do that.
Speaker 6 (31:31):
You think can give her.
Speaker 5 (31:32):
A good I mean, she got her campaign together, she
got herself there.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
I mean it's pretty tricked paras am I right.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
It's good. She's got another job.
Speaker 6 (31:41):
I think last chance for her.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
