Speaker 1 (00:31):
Well, welcome aboard another weekend getting a few things done
around the home. This hour has brought you by odor Exit.
I know with all the talk of water and floods
and rain, odors are going to become prevalent as mildew
begins to grow and mold. Whatever the odors are in
your home, letdor Exit take care of it. They've got

(00:52):
the eliminator for you know, pet accidents and all that stuff,
and they got the magic for irregular odors. They got
the air quality Manager for molds and mildews. You can
check it all out at their website. It's O D
O r xit dot com. And right now they got
a sale going on. It's twenty percent off. It's right

(01:12):
on their website odor exit dot com. We thank them
for sponsoring this hour of at Home with Gary Sullivan.
All right, grab a line. We got plenty of time
to chat with you about your home projects. Let's go
back to the phones. We'll go to John John. Welcome.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Hey Gary, I'm trying to remove some dried up crock
from a fiberglass shower pan. I took the door off
and want I want to put.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
A curtain on.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
I don't know what product I get it's it's hard
as rock. Yeah, I don't know if it's silicon.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Yeah, Well, if it's silicone, you still should be able
to it'll stay relatively pliable. That old type of hawking
is probably the most difficult to get off. Um, it's
probably could even be an old oil base. How old
you think that cocking is?

Speaker 4 (02:05):
I think I maybe five eight years.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Okay, So so it wouldn't be an oil based cocking,
or at least I don't think so it's probably an
acrylic siliconized cocking. What I would do? If so, the
best way to get it off is with a razor blade. Okay.
So if that's not going to get it done, and
I'll walk you through that, there is a products out

(02:31):
on a market called cock Removers, which is kind of
a joke. It doesn't really remove calking, but what it
does is do is it softens cocking so that you
can remove it. Okay, So first you get a single
edge razor blade, you know, in a little holder it's
about four inches long, and cut straight down, okay, vertically

(02:56):
and then horizontally scrape straight in and that'll that'll start
breaking down the bond. And then cut a little piece
of it away that The object is to get like
a hook knife behind that beat of cocking. So if
you cut it straight down, you cut it straight in.

(03:19):
So we've cut it vertically and horizontally, and then we
cut a little piece off. There's a cock removing tool.
It might cost you six bucks. It's plastic and it's
in place for your hand to hold it. And then
there's a hook. You get that hook behind the calking
and you just kind of, you know, try and crank
that calcking out. If you get nowhere with that, then

(03:42):
I would.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Not straight down. I'll try that, but it's like putting
a razor and rock.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Yeah, Well then you might just get this cock removing product.
It's there's one even if you get it online because
minards might have it as called Mouston Baker. It's the
only one that I really found that really works well.
It's mos te n b A c h E R

(04:12):
mostin bocker. Okay, cock remover. You just file the directions
as a matter of just saturating it, letting it sit there.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
It It works on most all types of calking. So
if it's cocking and not some crazy adhesive that somebody
put there, it should soften.

Speaker 5 (04:35):
No, it's cocking.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Do I need a vapor mask?

Speaker 1 (04:40):
You shouldn't have to. You shouldn't have to. I don't
remember it ever being real smelly or anything.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Okay, wonderful you got a Dremmel tool.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Yes, you might even try that a little bit too.
I don't know is this against a glass door or
is it just a shower pan and a all.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
The shower pan.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
I took the door like the door off.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Yeah, if you got a drummll tool before you run
out and buy something, you might try your drummel tool
one of those little cone grinders, Yeah, and see if
you can grind it out with that.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
That's a good story anyway.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah, at least you'll know what you're up against. I
mean I always kind of use the liquid as a
last resort. You know. If I can't scrape it out,
I can't chisel it out, I can't grind it out,
then I'll get the uh quote colck remover.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Okay, good tip, All.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Right, you bet your thanks, take care all right again.
Our phone numbers eight hundred eighty two three eight two
five five Michael welcome, Hello, Yes sir.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
Those are Michael Hall and Dallas in South.

Speaker 6 (05:55):
Carolina staying dry area. Right, So I got some decking
put down, would like two one by forest and it's
cracked all up. And I always wondered what you thought
about this track decking or do you have some moreder
I can replace it?

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Where so you're looking at pulling the old pressure treated
wood off and replacing it with like a composite decking, correct, Right, Okay,
Well I think it's a great idea, Michael, To be
honest with you, We've had a couple of calls the day,
and I totally agree. The quality of pressure treated decking
is really going it's being challenged. It's not what pressure

(06:39):
treating decking was twenty five years ago, to be honest.
And the world's kind of moving to some of the composites,
and also even the composite decking is going through a
little bit of trans transition because there's composite and a
composite decking is it's plastic and wood fight. So there's

(07:02):
still wood fiber and whenever there's wood fiber and there's moisture,
there's going to be a reaction. Right, So what the
composite decks and the Trex products, there's tracks, there's decorators,
there's Timber detect, there's multiple brands out there, but what
we're seeing is really what's coming into vogue is what

(07:23):
they call capped composites. So they make a composite decking
out of the wood, flower and plastic and then they
cap it with a polypropylene or a PVC type product
and it takes man It takes water out of the
equation big time, and the warranties on that are as

(07:49):
much as twenty five years. There's even warranties that some
manufacturers are going now where not only is the decking warranted,
but also construction cost is warranted. And that tells me
they really believe in it. And it's been out there.
The cap composits have been out there probably, I don't know,

(08:10):
eight ten years, and they're really kind. They're not taking
over the market because they're more expensive than pressure treated wood,
But if you're looking for something that's going to have
longevity where you're going to enjoy your deck, I would
encourage you to take a look at that.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
Okay, would you have any brand you would recommend overdola?
Is this trick? Is it interlocking or does it have
a space between.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
So between the tracks and the timber tech. Those are
your two leaders in the industry, okay, and even they
are kind of fighting the battle of price. So there's
different qualities of cap con posits, not in the quality
of the cap, but the amount of cap they have

(09:01):
on the composite. Now I'll explain. So they'll have a
premium where everything is capped. The top of the board
is capped, the sides of the boards are, the bottom
of the board is capped, the tongue is capped, the
groove is capped. Okay, so it's one hundred percent capped,
and then the least a little less expensive. The top

(09:22):
is capped, but the tongue in groove is not capped,
so when you push it together, it's kind out of
the weather, but it's not capped, but it is kind
of protected. So you know, either one of those two products,
they're a good, solid, upper middle road that's gonna give

(09:42):
you lots of great service. If you're looking for something
a little more. It's usually from a cosmetic standpoint, that
would be decorators. They capped theirs with polypropylene. It's a
lighter deck board. It's not as heavy as the others.
It has some beautiful designs that their cap products can

(10:05):
look like almost hardwood, you know, exotic woods. So it's
kind of a high end decking product.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
Right. Well, I was playing on kind of doing this myself.
I was going bull off their whole boards, they replace
it with this stuff. I'm looking at about a twelve.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Okay, all right, Well, like I said, the tech, the
tracks or the timber tech will be good. I'll give
you one little tip here. When you get your old
boards pulled off, you you'll have holes, you'll have punctures
in your choice. There is a tape, a rubberized membrane

(10:51):
tape that goes over the tops of those joice which
seals that up. And then your your tracks are tech
layer right on top of that. That's an important thing
to get.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
All right, all right, very good, Thank you, Michael, appreciate it.
All right, let's take a break. When we come back,
we got Steve and David. If you'd like to join us,

let's get right back to the phone calls, and I'll
give you the phone number two. It's eight hundred and
eight two three eight two five five. All right, let's
go to Steve. Steve, welcome, good morning Gary, Yes, sir,
how are you?

Speaker 4 (14:35):
I'm good? How about yourself?

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Hanging right in there? Brother?

Speaker 4 (14:38):
That all right? Okay, I've got had a privacy fense
put up in June. That's a replacement.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
I use the I used the pressure treated frame and
with cedar planks, and I love the cedar planks.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
My question is I imagine it's going to be time
to seal that here. I think I might be able
to do it in October. And I like the come
look at it right now. I like the look of it.
When it's wet, it brings out the you know, accent more,
it brings out the color. So I don't want, really,
you know, a stain. So what would be a good
ceiler that I would get that wet look or that

(15:13):
what I'm looking for?

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Well, the only way you're going to get a wet
look is to put on like a euthane, you know,
a clear you know. And the only problem with that,
and I think this thing through is if you put
a I'm going to use the word varnish, but a
spar euthane on there. Okay, a spar your thane. It's

(15:36):
got UV block, but it it's not gonna last forever.
And when it begins to fail, it's gonna appeal. And
when it appeals, you're gonna call me and I'm gonna
tell you it's got to come off.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
Now, when you get a stain or a ceilant or
a penetrating finish, you give up a wet look and
it's built into the wood to protection and it doesn't
last five years. It maybe last three years. But when
you call me up, I'm gonna tell you to clean it,

(16:13):
you know, hose it off, pressure wash or whatever and
put another coat on there. There's no scraping, there's no removal.
So you know, it's your decision. If you're gonna if
you're gonna get a wet look, you probably get like
a satin And I would use a spar or marine
your athane it's going to be expensive and it's gonna amber,

(16:39):
and but when it fails, you you've got a monumental
job of getting that off.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
Maybe I don't like that wet look as much as.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
That I was hoping you'd say that. So now, so
there's there's things you can do though. So the the
semi transparent stains, they come in all varying degrees of solids.
And what I mean by that is you can get
a clear it'll soak in so it kind of look

(17:09):
like it is now. When it rains, it'll probably look
a wet look. You could get it where it has
a little cedar tin to it, which will enhance it.
It won't turn gray, and you could go all the
way up to a dark brown, which will last longer
because there's more solids in it.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
Right.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
Yeah, if you were to ask me which one, I'd
go right in between. I'd get a little cedar stain
and use that and you'll get your protection and you'll
stay and kind of in that family. It won't look
like paint. It won't look like it does now, but

(17:51):
it'll be enhanced a little bit and it'll be protection.
And you know, every three years clean that often you
get out there, you could probably spray that on and
just brush it out. It'd be easy to recoat. That's
the big, big advantage.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
All right. Another, I want to give you a roofer
that you advertise for a compliment. His roof high he
put on in June also is holding up well through
all this rain.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Very good. And you you're talking about Brian Addis roofing.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
Yeah, yeah, good guy.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Yeah, he is a good guy. He's a good one. Well,
thanks for giving me that information, Steve. I appreciate it,
Thank you very much. And yeah, I'll tell you that's
another thing. I'm going back to one of the calls
we had in the first hour when somebody told this lady,
and believe me, I'm not saying the fella is wrong.

(18:44):
It was a six year old gas fireplace and needed
a part and it was sixteen thousand dollars and it
may be and she found the part or he found
the part and it was nine hundred bucks, and wanted
me to say that they could put that on themselves.
And no, in fact, just stop. Get a second quote

(19:09):
and a nice thing of Brian Attis roofing. When I
talk about Brian, he's always saying you know, all I'm
asking is you let me give you a quote, because
on anything of that magnitude, whether it's at fireplace or
whether it's a roof, you get a couple of quotes
and you compare them and you find out exactly, educate

(19:30):
yourself exactly what they're going to do and what needs
to be done. It's not always just replacing the shingles,
or maybe it is. All right, we'll continue with your calls.
You're at home with Gary Sullivan.

Speaker 7 (19:51):

(23:02):
problem solved. All right, that being said, let's go to David. David. Welcome, Arry,
how you doing doing funds?

Speaker 3 (23:10):
Their?

Speaker 1 (23:10):
Thanks?

Speaker 8 (23:11):
Hey, I got a simple question. Mm hm I got
gnats in my basement, and I know you have a
secret recipe for getting rid of them, and it might
be like something like appleside or vinegar or something.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
Yeah, yeah, that's it. We got into this last Sunday too,
and I learned a little bit about those quote nats.
You know, I guess really the first thing to do
is find out where the source is. That's probably the
most important thing, David, because there's drain flies, there's fruit flies,
there's gnats, there's fleas, there's all kinds of things that
kind of look the same. Is do you find them

(23:48):
around drains or anything?

Speaker 8 (23:51):
No, not really, But that's my best guess is where
they'd be coming from.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
All right, well, let's do a test, because those would
be drain flies. And my guess is that's what they
are also, And I'll give you my secret recipe and
I'll educate you a little bit about them like they
educated me a couple of weeks ago. So get some
get some masking tape or something, and just tape over
that drain a little bit. And if you see them

(24:19):
stuck on the other side of that tape after a
few hours or a day or whenever, you got to
drain flies. What they're doing is they're feeding off the
bacteria in that drain. So one of the step ones is,
let's eliminate the food source, and that is the bacteria

(24:39):
that's growing inside that drain. That can be done with
enzyme drain cleaners powder. You get it at the hardware store.
Mix it with hot water poured down in there and
it will start eliminating that bacteria, which eliminates the food source.
That's number one thing to do. The number two thing

(25:01):
to do is the little secret recipe, which is it's
not going to eliminate the whole population, but you'll get
rid of some of them. Plus we're taking their food
source away. But you get a little saucer type or
a little petri dish or something along nose lines, and
it's cider vinegar, a few drops of liquid don soap

(25:25):
or liquid soap, and a little bit of water and
a little bit of red food coloring. And I don't have, uh,
you know how much of each or anything along those lines.
It's just a little saucer. The cider vinegar will draw
them to it. It's a food source. The detergent will

(25:49):
eliminate their ability to fly. The red will attract them. Okay,
now that there's also so you can get at the
hardware storeans. It's a little trap kind of the same thing,
looks like a red apple. It's got a little holes
at the top where they go down in to get
to the solution and they can't get out. So what

(26:14):
I learned last week and had it confirmed a little research,
and that a lot of times they'll be nesting in
your house if you have houseplants, they'll lay their eggs
in the soil of houseplants, which I never knew. So
if you have any of that going on, a.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
Lot of them.

Speaker 8 (26:37):
But they're outside right.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
Now, Okay, all right, all right, Well as those are
not inside unless they're getting inside from outside. Maybe they're
close to the door or something. But so this fellow
call and just talked about using a pesticide in those
to eliminate their their eggs and stuff like that and
kind of break the circle life. But for years I've

(26:59):
been talking about let's identify him, let's get rid of
the bacteria in the drain and use the trap and
see if that doesn't take care of the problem, and
it probably will.

Speaker 8 (27:10):
You mentioned enzyme drain cleaners. You have a brand name
or anything.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
I don't. I think Master Kem makes one. There's a
bunch of them out there. They're almost there's his main enzyme.
Drain cleaners. Now there is acid drain cleaners. You usually
have powder, you mix with water, hot water, pour it down.
I'll tell you another thing. A guy called me the
other day. This was pretty interesting. It was on a

(27:36):
he on a restaurant, so he has drain flies a lot.
He got one of these little tiny fans that are
about two inch in diameter, battery operated.

Speaker 9 (27:48):
Guy.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
Yeah, and I forgot about that, but yeah, I thought
that's genius because they're gonna go somewhere else. They're not
gonna screw around that they can't get to the food source.
So another good tip.

Speaker 8 (28:03):
All right, that's cool. Ye, Hey, busy day.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
Thanks, appreciate the call. Thanks David. All right, let's go
to Cliff Cliff welcome. Oh Hi, Hi Gary, doing fine? Thanks?

Speaker 10 (28:20):
Okay. I have an American standard one point six gallon
Cadet three toilet and I had my dream service out
about a year ago and they said they jed did it.
But it's only temporary for until they.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
Get a new toilet put in okay.

Speaker 10 (28:44):
Well, well it was working, but it's getting clogged up again.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
All right.

Speaker 9 (28:50):
Uh, what do you.

Speaker 10 (28:52):
Think about it?

Speaker 1 (28:54):
Well, American Standard has had some recall on toilets and
had some problems. Is this one of those.

Speaker 10 (29:02):
No, it's it's not. It's it's been in there for
a number of years.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
Okay, okay, so it's not the real super low flush.

Speaker 10 (29:12):
One point six scalon flush.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
Okay. So so they jetted it. Tell me what jetted?
It means?

Speaker 9 (29:22):
He got that h m oh, he's got that that
thing that goes around you know, this electric Yeah that
uh uh, it's a round or it's it's that chinable.

Speaker 4 (29:41):
That goes in there.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
Okay. So it's like a snake that's going in through
the toilet, right, okay, So is that what he snaked
out was the toilet itself? Yes? And and nothing else then? Correct?

Speaker 10 (29:56):
Nothing else?

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Okay? And do you have any troubles with any other
drains at all?

Speaker 10 (30:01):
Well, running laptops kind of clogging up?

Speaker 1 (30:04):
Okay, okay, all right, so he did this how many
how long ago? Six months ago? Three months longer than that? Okay,
And now it's it's back the toilet. It's a problem.
The bethub's a problem, okay. Sounds like the problem is
just not in your toilet, okay to me, So you

(30:28):
just picture all your lines, all your plumbing lines go
to probably in your house, a four inch pipe that
then goes out to the septic or out to the sewer.
The sewer, okay. So what we will normally find is

(30:50):
there's there's a problem with the waist line, the four
inch line. It's not a huge problem, it's not totally blocked,
but there's some stuff going on in there. Either roots
are going in there, it's crushed, the seems separated. There's
something going on there where we've got no we no
longer have a four inch inside diameter pipe. We have

(31:14):
it filled with roots and whatever. So everything just kind
of slows down. That's why I asked if other, you know,
other areas were causing causing a problem. Now, you may
have had a little problem with the toilet, and he
snaked it out and it kind of worked, and you know,
because it's not got that big hard flush, and maybe

(31:35):
there's a blockage in the waistline, it's redeveloped. I'm just
guessing the only way you're gonna know is you're gonna.
What I would recommend is having somebody send instead of
a snake down there, let's send a camera down there
and let's see, and not necessarily through the toilet. They

(31:56):
might there's usually a you know, an outlet on that waistline,
maybe down in the basement or something. They take that
plug out, run a camera down through there, and they
do a scope of that whole waistline and see what's
going on, and you may find the problem there. So

(32:17):
that would be my take on it, because something's going on.
If you got problems with a toilet, and you got
problems with the tough now that's the part going down.
There's also pipes that go up, and that's the vent
pipes you see on your roof. You know, we just
had a lot of wind and twigs and leaves and
everything else. And if that gets a little bit impeded,

(32:40):
you lose that airflow that allows for the flush to occur.
It's like a one gallon gas can when you're trying
to pour gas out of it and you don't have
the vent plug open, and you know, just kind of
you open the vent, the gas comes out real nice
and smooth. If those vents get clogged, or debris gets

(33:02):
in them that could be causing the problem.

Speaker 9 (33:06):
Okay, right, And the only.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
Reason I'm taking the only reason I'm taking you to
this next step is because you have multiple apparasses going down. Okay,
you have multiple areas of a problem, which usually is
waistline ventline one or the other or both.

Speaker 9 (33:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (33:30):
I mean it's been a lot of toilet paper going
in that toilet.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
Yeah. And I'll tell you those waistlines, especially hold your.

Speaker 10 (33:39):
House nineteen fifty eight.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
Okay, So those are probably clay based pipes, okay, And
we have clay pipes with really really tough clay soil
that is going through a drought, which means it shrinks
and then it gets wet and it compresses, and there's
a lot of movement on those pipes, and those pipes

(34:05):
separate and maybe just you know, an eighth of an inch.
And then in comes the tree roots because there's water
and they need water. The tree roots didn't cause the problem,
but they're taking the benefit. And then we get tree roots,
a little fine hair roots in there. It starts getting
clogged up, things starts running slower, toilet paper gets entangled

(34:27):
in it. You get the drill, so I think you
know that's probably what you need to do. And you know,
when you get a plumber out there, they may have
their opinion too, But without seeing it, that's what I'm saying,
the issue would be all right. Thank you much for
the call. I appreciate it. We got to take a break,

(38:27):
let's go to Kevin Kevin Welcome.

Speaker 12 (38:31):
Hey, thanks Garry, longtime listener.

Speaker 3 (38:33):
So we had our roof.

Speaker 12 (38:34):
Redone about five years ago. The flash year around the
chimney wasn't done properly, so the water would spill over
onto our chimney and I just started noticing pribly this
past year. I have like a long drip line of
I would call it black algae. It's on the east
side of the house. I'm curious on how we treat

(38:57):
that because our hill, we're on a hill, and so
it's very difficult to get to it. I got an
eighteen foot extension power washer arm and I still can't
get to it. So I'm just curious what you'd recommend
on that.

Speaker 1 (39:07):
So the algae is on the shingles, is that right?

Speaker 3 (39:13):
It's a black mold like on the chimney.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
On the chimney, Okay, So the brick absorbed the water
and the mold grew and the flashings fixed. Now correct,
that's correct.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
Yeah, they'll just fix it in the spring.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
All right. Well, you hear me talk about wet and
forget a lot correct, Yeah, all right, so that will
kill and eliminate algae, mold, fungus, mildew, algae, the whole
works they have so it's wet and forget exterior, and

(39:48):
they make one with a hose end sprayer. So that's
going to make it convenient for you. You still may
need your ladder, but that spray or will spray up
to twenty five feet and it's just a you know,
just like a half gallon jug that the hose screws
on two and it self mixes and you know, may

(40:11):
you can go up halfway up that ladder and just
just soak that area that area. Then it's a process.
It takes the sun, it takes the rain to keep
that activated, and it'll take about six weeks and you

(40:32):
may not see any action at all for three or
you may see action within two days. But it will
eliminate that that stain for sure. And that's what I'd
recommend that that should make it pretty easy on you.

Speaker 12 (40:49):
Any given that we're walking into the fall season and winter, is.

Speaker 3 (40:55):
Now still a good time to do it or should
I wait the Yeah.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
No, now's a great time to do it. Now's a
great time to do it because we have really minimal evaporation,
you know, and we don't have well maybe we will,
but we do it and we don't have as much
ninety five degree days, blue skies, and uh so, you know,
you don't want to spray when we're real super super
sonny and really super super hot or super super windy

(41:20):
because you'd lose some of that spray. You lose some
of that product. So now's a perfect time. Now that
falls a perfect time to spray it.

Speaker 3 (41:29):
Got it perfect? Thanks a lot, appreciate all your help.

Speaker 1 (41:31):
You're quite welcome. Thank you, and Karen welcome, thank you.

Speaker 11 (41:38):
Good morning, Gary morning. I have a two full question
for you. Okay, I recently had a dayless feel sink
installed in our kitchen and there is a lot of
hawking or silicone cocking or something around the sink on
the counter. What would you suggest to get that off?

Speaker 3 (41:59):
So?

Speaker 1 (42:00):
So, how long has that been there?

Speaker 11 (42:03):
It's been there? Oh, I'd say two and a half weeks.

Speaker 1 (42:08):
Okay. I would first try some rubbing alcohol. Do you
have any of that? I do, Yeah, try some of
that and see if that doesn't work. I'm trying to
remember what this other person gave me a tip on
that the other day on something else that removes. I
can't remember what it was. But try some rubbing alcohol

(42:29):
and let it sit on there for a while, and
then do you have a single edge razor blade?

Speaker 3 (42:35):
I do use that.

Speaker 1 (42:37):
After you let it sit on there, it'll make it
even more pliable than it is and it should come up.
And then you might even want to put some more
rubbing alcohol on that and then wipe it away the
best you can, all right, And the.

Speaker 11 (42:57):
Second question is do you stay? I still think that
was installed. Seems to have a lot of water spotting
when you use the sink. Is there a cleaner that I.

Speaker 2 (43:09):
Could get to?

Speaker 1 (43:11):
Yeah, you probably actually have the cleaner in your house.
Or I can give you a stainless steel cleaner too
and use that. But if you got a barkeeper's friend,
it's an old product. A barkeeper's friend does a great
job of cleaning stainless steel sinks, just a great job.

Speaker 11 (43:32):
So it won't scratch it.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
It's not going to scratch it. No, just use a
microfiber cloth or cotton cloth and uh, you know, get it.
Get the cloth nice and moist, sprinkle The barkeeper's friend
on there kind of need the cloth to get the
barkeeper's friend damp and then just go ahead and scrub
it with that rinse in clean and you should be fine.

(43:56):
It's just hard water deposits that are causing the spots
on the stainless steel. So that's what I would use,
and uh, I think it you should clean that up
very easily. So barkeeper's friend, all right, Well, the music's playing.
That's going to wrap up a very busy weekend. And
again our prayers for all the people in North Carolina.

(44:19):
What a mess and Florida, what a huge hurricane that was.
You never go to Tennessee too, Tennessee. I mean we
were in a drought where we're at and all of
a sudden everything's green. It's like it happened overnight. So well,
I guess that brings to my little outtake. Good Lord Willing.
We'll be back next weekend for more At Home with

(44:40):
Gerrie Sullivan. Take care of that.

Speaker 7 (45:01):
